(upbeat music) - Welcome to the seed pod for beginners. I'm Miss Ashley and I'm so glad you are here with me today as we sing and learn about God through nature and the Bible. Heavenly Father, please bless all the boys and girls who've joined us today. Help us to learn so much more about you and come close to Jesus. We pray in Jesus name, amen. - Hi boys and girls. What word do you like to hear more? Do you like to hear yes or no? - I like the word yes, a lot better than the word no. - Can you surprise your mommy or daddy today by saying yes? Every time he or she calls you? - This is one way you can honor your father and your mother. - Let's sing. Yes, yes, mommy. ♪ When mommy says, "Oh you, Tommy, I say yes, yes, mommy." ♪ ♪ Jesus in gratitude, he or you said yes, yes, mommy." ♪ ♪ When mommy says, "Oh you, Tommy, I say yes, yes, mommy." ♪ ♪ Yes, yes, yes, mommy. ♪ ♪ Jesus in gratitude, he or you said yes, yes, mommy. ♪ - Have you ever seen an animal hatching? I'm strong, but so slow. - Sloth! - A sloth. - I'm a sloth. Last one. I am an animal that lives on land. I do not swim. I can live a lot longer than people, sometimes even 150 years. I have a shell on my back, but I'm not a turtle. What am I? - A tortoise! - Tortoise! - I'm a tortoise. The snail, sloth, and tortoise are all slow-moving creatures. Our story today is about servants who were not slow-moving when Jesus told them to do something. Here, Jesus, thank you for our Bible stories. Help us to learn more about who you are as we hear our story in Jesus' name. Amen. - Have you ever been to a wedding? - Weddings are a really, really happy time, aren't they? A man and a woman who love each other decide to get married and spend their life together. They invite lots of guests. They put on their best clothes. There's lots of flowers. There's lots of special food. It's a wonderful time. Our Bible story book tells us about a time when Jesus went to a wedding. Jesus had been walking from town to town telling people about Jesus. Since Jesus had left home, he had not seen his mother Mary. He must have missed her. But guess who would be at the wedding? His mom, Mary. Jesus was happy about that. There was lots of good food at the wedding. There was also lots of grape juice. Everything was going well at the wedding until they ran out of something. What did they run out of? They ran out of grape juice. We don't have any more grape juice. One of the servants told Mary, what should we do? The bride and groom would be really embarrassed if they knew they'd run out because the guests would think they were trying to send him home. Sorry, party's over. But that's not what they were doing. Mary went to Jesus and asked for help. He would know what to do. Mary trusted Jesus. She knew that Jesus loved to help people and she was sure he could help. Jesus told the servants to fill six big jugs with water. Fill them up with what? With water, not juice. The servants obeyed. Now pour some out, said Jesus. The servants didn't really understand why we're gonna serve water when we wanna serve a special grape juice. But the servants obeyed again. And grape juice came out instead of water. Take some juice to the man in charge of the wedding, Jesus said. When the man in charge tasted the wonderful grape juice, he got excited. It was the best grape juice he had ever tasted. It was so good. Everyone wanted to know, where did this special grape juice come from? The servants told them, Jesus told us to fill the water pots with water. Then he told us to pour some out and it became grape juice. This made the people want to know more about Jesus. And this was the very first miracle Jesus did on our earth. Jesus is that special person that God promised to send to our world, as Elper said. He will save us. Isn't Jesus wonderful? It's memory verse time. Our memory verse this week is John two five. Whatever he says to you, do it. Does Jesus love you? Yes. Can you trust him? Yes. Then do whatever he says to you. And it will be the best thing to do. What so ever? That means whatever he says. What does he say to you? Do it. Let's say it together. Whatever he says. Whatever he says to you, do it, do it. John two five. Not two five. Let's have prayer together. We can fold our hands and talk to Jesus. Dear Jesus. Dear Jesus. You are so kind. You're so kind. And you are so powerful. You're so powerful. Thank you. Thank you for coming to our world. To clean the world. To help us. To help us. We love you, Jesus. We love you, Jesus. Amen. Amen.
