(upbeat music) - Welcome to the seed pod for beginners. I'm Miss Ashley and I'm so glad you are here with me today as we sing and learn about God through nature and the Bible. Heavenly Father, please bless all the boys and girls who've joined us today. Help us to learn so much more about you and come close to Jesus. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen. Our first song is here we come to Bethlehem. Do you know the name of the town where Jesus was born? The Bible told us even before he was born that that was where he would come from. Let's sing, here we come to Bethlehem. ♪ Here we come to Bethlehem ♪ ♪ Here we come to Bethlehem ♪ ♪ Here we come to Bethlehem ♪ ♪ To see the baby king ♪ ♪ Hear the wise men bring their gifts ♪ ♪ Hear the wise men bring their gifts ♪ ♪ Hear the wise men bring their gifts ♪ ♪ To give the baby king ♪ After Jesus was born, wise men, smart men, traveled a long, long way to find Jesus. This next song is a Christmas song so you can practice it now until the end of the year. Let's sing, We Three King. ♪ We three King, the warrior door ♪ ♪ Very guests, we traverse the four ♪ ♪ Field and fountain, more and mountain ♪ ♪ Following our star ♪ ♪ Oh, star of wonder, star of light ♪ ♪ Star is royal, beauty bright ♪ ♪ Westward leading, still proceeding ♪ ♪ Guide us to thy perfect light ♪ ♪ We are gonna play a guessing game ♪ ♪ I'll give you hints ♪ ♪ Then you, guess what it is, are you ready? ♪ ♪ I rise in the morning ♪ ♪ And go down at night ♪ ♪ I am a very bright light ♪ ♪ Up in the sky ♪ ♪ My warmth helps plants to grow ♪ ♪ What am I ♪ ♪ Send ♪ ♪ The sun ♪ ♪ I love sunny days ♪ Next one. You see me in the sky. Sometimes during the day, but I shine brightest at night. Sometimes I look like a big circle, and other times, like a smaller part of a circle. Do you know what I am? ♪ Moon ♪ I'm the moon. Good job, the moon. Last one. There are more of me than you can count. You can only see me in the sky when it is really dark. I twinkle, and sometimes you can see me shoot across the sky like a flash of light. What am I? - A star. - Stars. These three things are an outer space created by God on the fourth day of creation. Our story today is about a very special star that Weizmann followed. Dear Jesus, thank you for coming all the way from heaven to help us to be safe from Satan and from sin. We love you very much. Help us understand our story. Amen. Do you remember our last story? Baby, Jesus was born in a stable or barn with animals all around. We heard how the angels sang a song to some shepherds. When the angels finished singing, they went back up into the sky. The angels were so bright, they looked like a shining star. Far away in another country, some Weizmann were watching that star. The Weizmann had been waiting for baby Jesus to come. For who to come? Baby Jesus, they thought that star might be God's way of telling them that baby Jesus had come. Sometimes God gives us special signs and that was their sign. Then they noticed that that star was moving. Normally we don't see stars moving, they just twinkle in the sky. Let's follow the star, they said. The Weizmann could see the star better at night. So that's when they traveled. They must have slept in the day and traveled by night. Whenever they traveled, they went toward the star. Look up into the sky. Can you imagine a star overhead? Mile after mile, the Weizmann followed the star. Then one night, it stopped. Where did it stop? It stopped above a beautiful temple. The Weizmann thought that the people nearby would know about Jesus. Where's the baby king they asked? But no one seemed to know where Jesus was. How do you think the Weizmann felt? They felt sad. Then suddenly the star shone brightly and started moving again. The Weizmann followed. The star kept moving until it was over, the place where Jesus was born. Then the star stopped. The Weizmann knelt down and worshiped, baby Jesus. They gave baby Jesus the beautiful gifts they had brought. They brought things that were gifts for a king, things that cost a lot of money and that would help them later in life. Are you glad that baby Jesus came as a tiny baby into our world? Can we still give presents to Jesus? Yes, we can. Every Sabbath, we can bring our offering to church. And when we give to others, we're giving gifts to Jesus. The money helps other people to know about Jesus. And when we choose to be happy and have a good attitude and obey our mommy and daddy, that can be us giving a present to Jesus too. It makes Jesus happy. Shall we tell Jesus how much we love him? Just like the Weizmann did? Yes. We love you Jesus. You can say it with me. We love you Jesus. It's memory verse time. Our memory verse today is Matthew two, 11. They presented gifts to him. Point your finger across the room like you were pointing to a group of Weizmann. You can stretch your arm and point across the room. They presented gifts to him. Hold your hands open like you're holding something and reach out your arms like you're giving a handful of gifts to Jesus. They presented gifts to him, Matthew two, 11. Now let's try saying the verse together. They presented gifts to him. Just to him. Matthew two, 11. 11. Dear Jesus. Dear Jesus. Thank you for loving us. Thank you for loving us. Help us give you good gifts. Who wants all of you to do this? By loving you back. By loving you back. In Jesus name. Amen. Join us for our closing song, "Into My Heart." And as we sing, you can invite Jesus to come into your heart. "Into My Heart, Into My Heart, Come Into My Heart, Lord Jesus, Come Into Day, Come Into Say, Come Into My Heart, Lord Jesus, Now To My Heart, Now To My Heart, Try Now To My Heart, Lord Jesus, Try Now To Day, Try Now To Always, Try Now To My Heart, Lord Jesus."
