[MUSIC PLAYING] Ban and Power Music Hour episode 35. For Wednesday, July 3, 2024. Got a great show lined up for you. Figured we'd start out soft and then ramp this one up. So let's kick it off with one of the artists that is going to be joining us at the Bands of Bitcoin here at the end of the month in Nashville. This is halfway to Houston by Alicia Stockman. [MUSIC PLAYING] I was up for the Sunday morning. Tipped on on extras and packing up my car. He was on a counter when I locked the door behind me. So I wouldn't have the chance to change my mind. I was halfway to Houston by the time he woke up. And he wondered, was I coming back, or was he left to see me come? I was trying not to turn that car around. I was halfway to Houston. And I broke down. [MUSIC PLAYING] I guess you could say that nothing happened. [MUSIC PLAYING] I was not the same, saying nothing was wrong. And how could we not notice a tender touch turned cold? It takes time to build a palace that could not. I was halfway to Houston by the time he woke up. Did he wonder, was I coming back, or was he glad to see me come? I was trying not to turn that car around. I was halfway to Houston. And I broke down. Oh, the first time, holding a long time. I had the chance to ask myself just that I needed. Oh, the interstate gave me space to see it. And then every mile hurt, just in the last. [MUSIC PLAYING] I was halfway to Houston by the time he woke up. Did he wonder, was I coming back, or was he glad to see me come? And I knew that there was no turning around. I was halfway to Houston. Halfway to Houston, halfway to Houston when I broke down. [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] Crying in your arms with curtains drawn. He's darkest before the dawn. It's the storm before the calm. My eyes are closed, darkness that I chose. Crying in your arms with an old strength to show. He was just another day, kissed goodbye, smiled away. All the things I'm meant to say are lost on the wind. And I'm crying in your arms, afraid of letting go. The walls of your chest got me from my ghost. I'll stay right here, a shelter that I know. Crying in your arms lost, but I'm home. And it's just another day, pulled on up by this way. As it carries me away, you leave me in. I've been telling you, hope don't come around much anymore. Yeah, it's feeling like there's a local heavens dark. No one's in a row, and the tunnels go in dim. Oh, I'm crying in your arms, darling. I'm trying to hang on. It was just another day, kissed goodbye, smiled away. All the things I'm meant to say are lost on the wind. And you're real, me, is real, me in. You don't have to be the one. To do everything they say. Use a light from the sun. To carry out your dreams away. You belong just because. You belong just because. We belong just because. And we're rising above. And we're rising above. We belong just because. I was counting a falling star in my dreams, in my dreams. Right away from the shooting star, and you'll see everything beautiful in between. You belong just because. You belong just because. And we're rising above. Nice little three song set there to kick us off. We started off with Alicia Stockman and halfway to Houston. Then Sarah Jade with real me in. And then Chris Winsky with you belong. All three of those artists are going to be joining us here at the band's Bitcoin. July 25th, July 26th, July 27th at the MSC suites fourth floor in Nashville. Right during the Bitcoin conference, it's free. It's open to the public. Come on upstairs, get a cup of coffee or get a glass of water, get out of the heat. Because Nashville at the end of July, as I said on a previous podcast, is hotter than the devil's underpants. So welcome. Welcome back, Phantom Power of Music Hour episode 35. Do you know what this is? Do you know why you're here? This is value for value, right? You're listening on a modern podcasting 2.0 app. Like Fountain, Podverse, Curiocaster, Castamatic. Maybe you're listening online via true fans or Ellen Beats. Like there's a lot of different ways to check us out and they're all Bitcoin enabled, right? And all of that goes back to the artists whenever they're playing their songs or whenever we're playing their songs or anybody else. And there's a lot of great shows in this world, right? Homegrown hits behind the schemes, mutton, meat and music, lightning thrashes, upbeats. I'm forgetting a bunch of them too. But there's a lot of great shows and a lot of great apps. And so so much fun to be a part of this community. And we hope everybody's coming into town, into Nashville for the convention at the end of the month. There's a lot of free stuff out there that you don't have to pay for, right? And the event at Embassy Suites is certainly one of those. Anyway, let's get back to the music, shall we? One of my favorite songwriters on the planet, Mr. Jack Femister. And the song that I first heard a couple years ago that absolutely blew me away and turned me on to his music. This is Backwards Sideways on the Phantom Power Music Hour. What's so wide and said so many times, just keep walking the line. But when I look around on ten days at a time when all I'm gonna be found. I'm not making it round. I'm still going by myself and I'm not doing too well. At least as far as you can tell. See wouldn't it be a fine night for a dream to be thrown back down the well. I'll see you finishing yourself. By the time I'm inside I'm Backwards Sideways. But background the right way. I'll play the longest this time. So where will you be? Five hits from me and I tell 'em by the same. Now we'll let go in another fifteen roll when the last bowl leaves the shore. Don't you know you're a door? I hope to buy then I'll be out of my head no longer I'm a man. Don't know what I'll be if I'll even agree with what I did way back when. But I'll deal with that then. By the time I'm inside I'm Backwards Sideways. But background the right way. I'll play the longest this time. I'm sailing in circles wondering just why. Whatever needed shame. But I guess there'll be all this. The size is only so hard to live back the same way. By the time I'm by the time I'm by the time I'm by the time I'm inside I'm Backwards Sideways. I don't know why I do the things that I do to me. It's like I'm new to the view. Hearing voices in my head that say it's always warm to many rounds. Not that high. Gravity keeps holding me down. Oh, it keeps holding me down. We need to get back on my feet. I know I will, but I don't know when. It feels like every other week. I need to learn to walk again. 'Cause I'm so heavy from that high. Gravity. I don't know why I do the things that I do to me. It's like I'm new to the view. Hearing voices in my head that say it's always warm to many rounds. Not that high. Gravity keeps holding me down. Oh, it keeps holding me down. Oh, it keeps holding me down. Joe Martin with High Gravity here on the Phantom Power music hour. Joe's actually going to be headlining at the vinyl lounge here in Nashville. Can't wait for that. He's flying over. It's going to be a lot of fun. Great gig. That is what night is that? That's Thursday night. Thursday the 25th. Joe Martin headlining over at the vinyl lounge. And our friends over at Wave Lake in Toonster are sponsoring that whole night. So kudos to those guys for laying down over at the vinyl lounge. That's going to be a hell of a party that night. Just louds playing. Ainsley Costello's playing. Higher lows playing. And Satoshi Rakamoto, like it's just going to be absolute mayhem. I have a feeling like I'm not going to get to bed until like four that night. Anywho, shall we introduce a new song to the value verse from those four lovely lads out of South and on Sea? This is The Trusted. And an absolutely beautiful song called the Arkansas. And no, they didn't come over here to write it. So I'm lost. But you won't catch me. We're in the cross. I don't believe in miracles. But, and so am I. People cut. It's hard to see with your eyes. Seals shut. It's been so rough since the good guys let you down. We hit the darkness in. And you were beautiful before the drug. Stuck behind in the walls. And we could crawl to Arkansas. I heard it's really beautiful. So bad then love doesn't exist. You can't shake it off. You can't shake it off. And you can't shake it off. And you can't shake it off. It's stuck behind in the walls. And we could crawl to Arkansas. I heard it's really beautiful. And we could crawl to Arkansas. I heard it's really beautiful. I heard it's really beautiful. I heard it's really beautiful. I heard it's really beautiful. I heard it's really beautiful. I heard it's really beautiful. I'm so glad. I can see it in your eyes. That look before the light. That pretends desperation. Acculation doesn't work when we both know what you're about to do. Just try telling me the truth. You said you'd try, but you never do. I promise to get back on your ride. We'll take it like the millions' time. I'll act like it's something new. 'Cause that's what brothers do. Friends from school no longer reach out to me. Is this something I did or is it evolutionary? A melted glacier leaves a lake of memories. If I stay in it too long, I know that I will freeze. So I'll lace off these shoes, head out to new views and hope the best for those left on the cutting room floor. And never meant to be million. You just can't keep all the scenes. If the move is to taught me anything, I'll need to move into a different prison. That's the best time to escape. Just need someone to run into. Don't do that for you. 'Cause that's what brothers do. Yeah, that's what brothers do. episode 35 Before that red arrow highway With brothers and kicking off that set Brand new to the value verse, the trusted And one of my favorite songs that there is called Arkansas But getting back to the song you just heard Just loud prisoner to love I hope you go back and listen to that one again And really appreciate the details of that The fact that he's dropping six-minute songs in this space I love the way that track Transforms through his voice all the way through front to back And then the nice mix up on the last, I don't call it, the last eighth of the song Just Loud's voice in so many ways reminds me of Rick James And I have said for the longest time that I think one of the greatest pop Or just male vocal performances ever Period was super freak by Rick James Because he hits upon rock and soul And on borderline operatic as well in that track And every now and then I hear a bit of that in Just Loud's voice Just Loud has an incredible tenor And then he can rip it up into the alto as well So love that track by Just Loud and I can't wait to see him On July 25th Hope you guys are liking the show I pieced all the songs together Last night and then You know lined them up and dropped them in the software And then I was sitting here Doing the voiceovers and putting them together Like I always do because it's always pre-recorded And I was kind of thinking Boy you know it's kind of nice not to have the music in the background when I'm talking Kind of like One of my favorite DJs growing up was a guy by the name of Richard Ray On KBCO out of Boulder 97.3 So it's kind of nice to have the break and not have some underlying beats Or like My lounge loser piano underneath it Anywho Hope you guys are liking the show And you're sending these artists sats Next up Charlie T The dogs keep barking I have coffee with Charlie Today in Nashville Bringing her into this space And teaching her about noster And wallets and all that kind of stuff She gets it I think she's going to do really well out here In the Bitcoin world with her music And she's asking great questions And really wants to get engaged With Fountain And speaking of powerful voices She's got another one like We were kind of laughing like She's got one of those voices that like destroys the mid-range on the EQs And And you're going to hear it on this track This is Charlie T with the dogs Keep barking I'm bleeding every day Their clothes could ride through me I can hear their house We could shake off this empty cake My hands are cut and tied My eyes are blood-shotted My eyes are shot and bone-dried
