Pray Always

Welcome to Grace for All, a daily devotional podcast produced by the people of First United Methodist Church in Maryville, Tennessee.

Today, in keeping with our July theme of Pray Always, we feature a traditional prayer and several prayers written by our youth.

Today's traditional prayer is the Lord's Prayer. The personal prayers were written by Ada, Alliyah, and Viola.

Our reader for today is Stephen.

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.  Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.  Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever.  Amen.

Youth Prayers

"Dear Father, help me grow in my faith so that you can lead me in the right direction in life.  John 3: 16-17 says, “For God so loved the world he gave his only son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish, but have eternal life.”" ~Ada

"Dear God, please watch over me through the coming week.  In your name I pray, amen." ~anonymous

"Father, please help me get to know you more.  Let me learn about your past, your success and your fails.  Help me learn how you made me who I am today." ~ Aliya

"Holy Lord, you are indeed a good God.  I will praise your holy name and make a joyful noise to your name and all the earth.  I worship you Lord with gladness as I come into your presence.  Help me know you more in the lives of my day and strengthen me with your Holy Spirit to know your word more.  Amen."  ~ Viola
