This is the five minute focus for Monday the 5th of August 2024 and we're going to talk about the format change that's happening this week. You'll notice it but you don't need to do anything. Just sit back and everything will be taken care for you. We'll get started now with the help of God almighty. Today is the day the Lord has made and these are the times which God has decided we should live. Welcome to the five minute focus. Changing things up in an effort to be more topical and immediate particularly as we head into this election cycle we're making a change. What has been our one will continue to be it's basically the radio show now the basic video is TV show with given all these cameras and everything the studio got built for us. I mean these are substantive podcasts but allows us to come into the studio and boom rip stuff out right in the morning responding to breaking news and to dig down into the cultural issues where we try to bring young people to God or rather let God do that to us. So you notice those changes. Episode 1760 the long form. This is myself and my pastor and more importantly friend Jim Putman. I asked Jim into this studio because of the big switch up between Cammy Harris and Joe Biden. Nothing has changed even though they're pretending everything has changed. It's still people running things in the background. But I asked Jim about human interactions or human kings and how God has interacted with human kings and I had this theory that God just can choose anybody. He doesn't particularly care who's king and Jim talked about King Saul. What God was giving. He said that remember the request was we want a king like everybody else. Yeah right so tall was or Saul was tall. He was handsome. He was all these things. So I think God says all right I'll give you one like everybody else. There was a difference after Saul and that was David and David's was a man after God's own heart. He was much more godly but he was also a man given to grave horrible horrific sin such as what he did with Bathsheba and more importantly I guess more enduringly her husband. Uriah was one of David's mighty men one of his close personal friends. He did this a close personal friend and so then the prophet comes to him and says you have sinned you are the guy and from there there was Solomon and I got an email from someone who has gone through divorce and was turning to some of the proverbs written by Solomon and Solomon was giving him great comfort until this guy realized wait a minute I'm reading the words of a guy who had a harem and Jim addressed that topic. This series of clips will be airing. We'll still figure that out. I do know this given that President Trump went into the National Black Journalists Association and was unbelievably respectful because he pushed back because he pushed back hard because he called out their fake news because he didn't allow them to install narratives into his discussion. I thought it would be a good time to remind a group of young people who've never ever seen blatant pandering racism like this do a comparison. President Trump's treatment of these journalists versus Hillary Clinton in a black church. I don't feel no ways tired. I come too far from where I started from. Nobody told me that the road would be easy. Now I'll do the nuance that some people don't she was quoting the words of a black pastor but I didn't know it was okay to put on black voice. That's pandering it's racism. We'll also address JD Vance. He said cat ladies. That means JD Vance hates single women who don't have kids or married women without kids. He wants them wiped out. We'll address this with a clip from Chelsea Handler. Then we'll go through what JD Vance actually said and it's a very thoughtful statement. There was this ridiculous effort by millennial feminist writers to talk about why having kids was not a good thing. Why they were glad they didn't have kids and even encouraging people who had had children to talk about why they regretted having children. Which of course is like Mother's Day on Mother's Day. Which is like psychologically deranged to ask mothers on Mother's Day to talk about why they regretted having children. We'll just add them much more in the clips version. The focus single issue podcast. Again you don't need to do anything. If you listen on audio it's just you land on your phone just like anything else. And the sub stack that would be just very the same thing. Pretty close to the same thing. That is the five-minute focus. Please do share it with friends.
