[MUSIC PLAYING] Captain Jay Hood, live from Training Camp on ESPN Chicago. Live coverage of Training Camp is presented by Hard Rock, Casino Northern Indiana. And is brought to you in part by the Chicago Land and Northwest Indiana Chevy dealers. What's up, everybody? Welcome in to the Captain Jay Hood Morning Show on ESPN 1000. And we are streaming on the ESPN Chicago app. With David Kaplan, Jonathan Hood with you, we've got Jay Moore, we've got Sean, we've got Shane, we've got Eric, and we've got you for 3R Ride broadcasting live from House on Lake Forest. Everyone is coming in, Cap. Fans have come in since 8 o'clock this morning, streaming in on their way to the practice field. And check out the Bears Day 2 for this week. Yeah, it's packed. And you know, it's just-- there's a different vibe here. There really is. And again, my buddy keeps texting me. Vibe means nothing, hard knocks means nothing, win games. I get it. But all of it has to come together to help you win games. And being on hard knocks for me is the rest of the legos. Wow, I've never been to Hallisol. I play for the Titans or the Seahawks or the Rams. Wow, look at that vibe in Chicago. Things are different, man. It's not what I expected. I'll tell you a conversation. They're not dopes with a B, as you like to call it. Right. I'll tell you a conversation I had off the record yesterday while you and I were watching practice yesterday. Someone told me that this feels so different in Chicago versus Carolina or Arizona and some of these other places where football don't matter. Like, they'll go to the games, but it's not a culture, right? Correct. You don't feel it Monday through Sunday and then game day. Chicago, it's totally different. The feeling, the vibe. Yes, there's been losing. There's been ups and downs with this organization, but it feels different than even when we are out here last year because of Caleb Williams, because of what Ryan Pulse has done, because all of this is about anticipation. All of it. All of it's about chasing greatness, right? To be able to get to that point where you say not only did they master 18 games, but they're also in the postseason. And that's what we're looking for. The postseason on the way to the Super Bowl. We want to see that in this iteration of the Bears. We do, we want to see them be a repeat winner. Like, wow, every year the Bears are in the discussion about, can they win it this year? They're in the playoff. I want to see that. I want you to think about this, Shay. Think about this for a second. There are some teams around the NFL. As big as the NFL is, that if they won the Super Bowl, it would be like the Florida Panthers won in South Florida, where it doesn't matter as much. Oh, we won the championship. We'll go to the parade. I'll go, remember that was a great time. There's certain markets now in the NFL, where if they won the championship, it wouldn't be as big as here, or New York, or Dallas, and places like that. When that guy told me that yesterday, it just rang a bell in my head, just like, you know what? The Bears' success means so much. It's not just the section of fan them over here. Bears' fans over here, Sox fans over here, Cup fans. It brings the whole city together. There is no division with Cubs and Sox when it comes to the Bears' success. One city, one team. Like, look, I love the Blackhawks. But not everybody's a hockey fan. The Bulls aren't that good. The Sox, they're the worst. The Cubs, it ain't much better. And as you said, summer Cubs, summer Sox. Everybody's a Bears fan. Yeah, and brings everybody together. You do this in Charlotte. We're doing this show at FNZ in Charlotte, Jay. Not as much. Well, yeah, you know, and there's a difference. I was talking about it with Travis Wacker, Pre-Show. Like, think about Kansas City and the Chiefs and the success that they've had, just on a national level. It hasn't become Chiefs Nation, where, like, America embraces this team. And there's fans across the country that are new, because they've seen them all as the Chiefs are doing. That happened a little bit with the Patriots and Patriot Nation in Boston. But most people hated them. I think with Chicago, it would be more broad. It would be more national. It would feel genuinely more like the Cowboys and America's team during their time if they're able to pull this off and have a really good ball game in the run. It would be insane, man, because I was here, like, hoodie was in the '80s when the coach was on every commercial. The fridge is running and catching passes for touchdowns. Like, it was insanity. Dude, you know what I knew? The Bears were, like, like, we're a national deal now. It's when the national news was showing the Lions outside the Art Institute with Bears helmets on. You remember that? Yeah, I do. They put helmets on the Lions. Huge helmets. People were, like, the Art Institute? They were, like, the whole city was swept up. The personality of that team resonates with people today. It just shows you, Cap. It wasn't just, oh, I think you had a couple of nights-- you had a nice run when a Super Bowl, because it's a lot of those in the NFL, by the way. Someone gets a one-off Super Bowl championship. I remember when they won the championship. Remember that? When you had the personalities and the lead-up to that '85 championship and that whole era of the '90s in which the Bears dominated, it resonates with people today. The reason why people are out here today is because of what happened in the past, and they want to have those good times again. Even young people know about the Chicago Bears in '85. They know about the personalities. Never before in the history of Chicago sports have we had a team in which you knew the personality of not just Jim McMahon, the quarterback, but the special teams people as well. You talked to somebody on the street. Tell me about Henry Whacker. They would know. Correct. Tell me about Jeff Fisher. They would know, right? Because there's always a little kernel of something that you know about every player shows you the personality of the team. Totally agree. Isn't that something? It was amazing, man. It really was. So Matti Reflus is a head coach for the Chicago Bears. He got a chance to speak. The bees love me today. Look at that. There's a bee. It's not like the cicadas where you could just let them roll. We got to move those yellow jackets. As a Georgia fan, I hate the yellow jackets. Yeah, the Georgia Tech. So get those guys out of the way, these yellow jackets around me. So Matti Reflus talked about a topic we talked to Tommy about. Tommy Waddle regarding Nate Davis. Now, let's hear from Matti Reflus talking about what that if Nate Davis on the offensive line is a lock for this season. Yeah, I mean certainly you have to look at all those things. You know, if a person's out for an extended period of time, you know, and a player that's in that position that's playing very well at a starter level, you know, and doing a good job there, then you create the competition. And you say, hey, there's a competition. You know, people say, well, you can't use the job because of injury. I don't think that's true. I think that if the guy that's playing there, you know, gives our team a good look and a good benefit for him being in that position, then it's a competition or the other guy could take it over. But that's not just that guard that's at all positions. That was taboo years ago. Cap, I don't know if you remember this. We were not working together, but I'm sure that you talked about this on your shows at GN. I know I talked about it as well. It might have been under one step. Maybe after DITCO, but a little bit after one step as well about players losing their job because of injury. Now, there might have been with the quarterback if you don't, if you can recall. Man, you can't let a guy take over a job because someone else has heard that's taboo. You can't do that. Yes, you can. If a guy's hurt or if a guy's unable to go, someone else could take your job, that's life. But there was a time with the Bears. I remember us talking about this like, oh, if a quarterback's hurt, you can't let someone else take his job permanently. Correct. But that is the case. Even if it says that door is open. Because I think he's sending a message through the media. That's what coaches do. Nate Davis, you better get your, you know what on the field. Because he talks to the trainer, like if it's a serious injury, he would know. He'd say, coach, he can't go. He's got a serious injury. But if they feel like it all, he could play through this. We better make sure he understands. You better get your ass on the field. That's a totally different thing. Can you believe a year ago today, we're talking about Nate Davis. Again, it's a different circumstance because he had personal issues off the field that we would not privy to, then it came to the surface. But here we go again. We're trying to have Camp Peace. We're trying to have a good time here. And here's Nate Davis again. Being a story line at Alice Hall. Fanged up. All right, so either he's going to be a guy or you move on. This should not be drama or trying to figure out whether he should be on the ball club or not. Camp, if he's not ready to go, that's why they brought in a mat prior. That's why they have Coleman's Shelton. That's why they have a number of offensive linemen that they brought in. They've got depth. I just don't know if they have enough star power there. But again, it all begins and starts with Caleb Williams. And when they have him walk on the field through the weight room with Ray Clay in there doing the introduction from USC. Dude, come on. I had goosebumps when the whole thing started. It's supposed to be honest and put a little bit more pressure on Caleb Williams than what it deserved. Now, no starting line up for yours, you should come on there. We're out of southern California. And quarterback. Six, one. (yelling) Ready, press. So go, go, go, go. Let's go. Here we go. My 57, ready, two. (clapping) I mean, if that doesn't get you jacked up, ready to go, come on, man. That was awesome. But a lot of pressure on the young man, though, because when you hear that song, you think of greatness. You think of Michael Jordan, don't you? You do, but I mean, it's the Bulls announcer back in the heyday. There he is, walking out, and then you hear, leave, drivers say he could be the biggest thing since Michael Jordan and people are like, "Oh, would you stop, relax?" No, he absolutely, a thousand percent, is built for this. This is what he was meant to do. He was meant to be here in this moment. Now he's got to execute. Now, you were talking about Vellis Jones at running back. Let's listen to the coach yesterday. Talk about Vellis Jones in possibly a new position for him. You guys saw Vellis Jones at half back today? Right. Again, that's a thing we're going to do during this block. He was welcome to that. And we feel that because of the versatility of the talent and the skill sets that he offers our offense another way to have a weapon back there. So, again, hopefully that grows into something. And again, that's Shane and the offensive staff just being creative, being able to maximize our talents on our roster. Okay. So, on your roster cap, Vellis Jones, A-T-H athlete. A man without a home. They're not going to put him in wide receiver. He could be in special teams. But when you're trying to piece him in the running back position, then I think that makes him a question mark. They're going to try, at least. They just are in factually with the speed. I get that. I watched him run yesterday. Cut. Man. His talent level is undeniable. Again, would Ryan take him again in the third run? Probably not. But watching him yesterday practice, and I'm like, watching this kid turn the corner, make a cut, and go off the sideline, I'm like, "Okay, there's got to be a way to harness that. There has to be." So, we'll see. Matty Rufus also talks about Caleb Williams yesterday. Right here as we broadcast live from Howells Hall here at Lake Forest. 13. Caleb did a nice job today and a couple of plays. He had that nice play in the red zone, that throw back into the corner. Extending to play a little bit to DJ. That was a good one. And I was able to see we already talked about the two minute operation that he had there. Right. You saw that, right? Yep. You saw that, right? Two minute operation, right? Time on task, right? Right. Time on task, right? Right. You know, it was another great thing. It was when Iber Flus, when he was, they were in his backyard, which, oh my God, that house is insane. We didn't see the rest of the house yet. We will. Put your camera down, Potash. I don't like to be seen. It's my second favorite show on his station. Oh! Don't get knocked down out of here, Potash. So, Iber Flus, he doesn't have the least second best show on the station. Is that what he said? Yeah. My second favorite. Second favorite show. He's so... Surprising out here. I know it doesn't like cameras. Iber, wow. What does he say? Iber Flus is in the back of his house. You heard me right. Iber Flus is in the back of his house with poles. Oh, yeah. The country club over there puts the fireworks out. And then there's a bunch of little kids playing football in that cute mungus yard. And he's like, no pass rush. And he goes, hey, you only get two and a half seconds to get the ball out. I'm like, wow. He's learning. He must have had some flashbacks and working with Justin. Correct. Correct. So, there's always that. All right, we'll have more as we talk about the Bears and the NFL as we broadcast live. From House Hall here in Lake Forest, Cap and Jay Hood on a ESPN 1000 also on the YouTube channel for ESPN Chicago. Cap and Jay Hood live from training camp on ESPN Chicago live coverage of training camp. It's presented by Hard Rock as seen on Northern Indiana. And it's brought to you in part by the Chicago land and Northwest Indiana Chevy dealers. We want to ESPN 1000 and we are streaming on the ESPN Chicago app as we broadcast live from House Hall here in Lake Forest. Right here on the home of the Bears. Now time to go to the hotline. That be the car acts tire and auto hotline. Rattle, rattle, thunder, batter, boom, boom, boom. Don't worry about the car accident. Albert Breyer from SI.com. A Monday morning quarterback is with us as we talk Bears in the NFL. Good morning, Albert. How are you? Good. How are you guys doing? We are awesome. We're at Bears camp and I got to tell you yesterday they were only in shorts and shells yesterday. They're going pads today. But we watched Caleb Williams. Hoodie and I are there for the whole practice and there's Caleb. Even though he's not getting taken to the ground or getting sacked and hit, he steps back. He looks to his left. He looks to his right to the middle. Back to the right and then he zips one like 18 yards down the field. Hits DJ Moore. And I'm like, I haven't seen a Bears quarterback go through four reads, four progressions. It looks like it's different and the culture here is different than what we've seen. Yeah. I mean, the word that comes to mind for my day there over the weekend at Bears camp is when it comes to Caleb is effortless. It's just everything looks easy for him. And the way he moves, not that he's Lamar Jackson is a runner, but very smooth. Like he moves with a purpose, you know? And then, you know, some of the throws that are really, really challenging, just doesn't look like he has to put much behind him to get the ball where he wants it to go. And, you know, you add that to some of the things that don't creatively get him ready to go. Yeah. I said this a couple of different places. I would be surprised if he's not really good as a rookie. And I don't often say that about quarterbacks. I think, you know, like Andrew Luck was that way. I certainly thought Trevor Lawrence would be a lot better than he was. But there were some extenuating circumstances in Jackson for that year, obviously. You know, Kale is very well prepared to be a rookie, very well prepared for this stage. And I think the things the Bears have done creatively to get him ready in doing some things before the draft even to install with him and then putting the group around him, you know, adding Keaner now and adding Roman Dunsey, you know, really adding the Andre Swift to really, you know, put him in a position to have a really good start that career. You wrote on SI.com and Monday morning quarterback here. Thoughts about the Bears, some burning issues. One of them is about offensive line depth. One of the story lines out here, as you all know, is like Nate Davis. And he reflucs. We just played it before he came on. Yeah. I think he's a little bit sheepish on Nate Davis. Whether or not he's going to be healthy or not. We know the offensive lines have to be paramount for Caleb Williams. What do you think of the offensive line for the Bears? Could Davis be expendable? I'm not sure about that. I do think a lot of it, you know, a lot of it, like, is going to come down to just player development. Obviously, Darnell writes a big part of that, you know, and how he comes along to write tackle. They do feel good about where they are with their frontline guys. But again, like, if something goes wrong with one of those frontline guys, then there's a depth there to protect them. And, you know, that's where they're going to need some of the young guys to develop and come along. So, yeah, I think the offensive line depth would be one of the questions that they feel like they've got to sort out over the next few weeks. But that actually doesn't make them much different than the rest of the league guys. I mean, there are very few teams that can say we have a sixth, a seventh and eighth offensive line, and we can count on, you know, they're just in general. There are a few teams like that, but in general, there just aren't enough of them to go around. Hey, despite the bank depth offensive line, Ryan Paul is pretty much confirmed to us yesterday that Caleb is going to play the second preseason game. Right, he'll be out there. He said I'm pretty confident we could protect him, but my question for you, Albert, is so hard knocks. I don't know if you watched the whole hard knocks last night. It was super cool. I was traveling. I was going to tell you guys before we started actually. I watched some of the clips, but I was traveling last night. I had a little bit of a, I did an interesting travel night where I didn't go to sleep till two, so I didn't get a chance to watch it. So when you do, you'll see a scene where Paul says to one of his assistants, "Hey, go down there and ask Coach Ebert Flus if we can steal DJ to talk to his agents for a few minutes." During special teams practice, and they go get him. He comes up and there's the Rosenhaus brothers, and get the pen, sign this, and he signs his contract extension. They hog all that. He comes back down. First guy he talks to is Nate Davis, who said, "Well, where'd you go?" "Put pen to paper. I just got to extend it." What? Wow, that's awesome. And then it comes out, the cap hit this year, saves them nine more million on the cap, so they've got 21 million. They've got to have some plan to use that. What do you think that is? Well, I mean, first of all, remember you can always roll that money over, right? So I think whether it's sitting there or not, you can always use that future. Certainly being able to move 10 or 15 million dollars over into 2025 can help them. They're building around their young quarterback team to build on their young quarterback. I think what you're looking at there, as far as what they could do with the breathing room they have, goes back to what we've been talking about real estate all the way up, right? Which is, is there some more pass rush help that they can get out there? And so, you know, Yonah can got quite somebody to stay in touch with. I don't know the price point right now is where the bears would be comfortable. I think Yonah is probably a little bit more of a pass rush specialist. You know, so he could be an option. Matthew Judon, I think, is available. And, like, if you are willing to give up the Patriots would want for them, I think that's another, that's another name that you can be at least in a short term, a really productive guy opposite Montes Swett. And then, you know, I mean, I think part of this too kind of relates back to the development of guys, like Austin Booker and what guys like that show the rest of the preseason. Is top-side retic available? I would say no. And the reason I say that, even though, like, so, you know, the Jets, obviously, they've got your main Johnson, you know, as an edge rusher. And Will McDonald, their first round pick one a couple of years ago, Scott had a really nice camp, like, and looks like the talent starting to come together there. The flip side of it, though, is that they did lose Bryce off in the off-season. And they've always, you know, since Robert Sol has been there, they've always, you know, strived to have a lot of depth on the defensive line. So, I know they're frustrated with the rest of the situation. I think their preference is still to get them in and have to be on that team this year rather than pay them. All right, Albert, you got to lay it out, man, because we love your travel stories. Where are you and what happened last night? Yeah, so I'm in Kansas. Well, not Kansas City because the chief's championship isn't in Kansas City. I'm in a town called St. Joseph, Missouri. Yeah. So, so, yeah, last year, last night, I don't know if you guys saw this. I don't know how big a story this was. There was tornado warnings in Cleveland, which I don't think normally happens there. So very violent storms. You know, I was kind of cutting it close anyway. I had to fly with a connection to get to Kansas City. So, you know, I leave to go to the airport. I got to return my rental car and traffic is just a disaster on Cleveland Airport. It turns out that that's because the entire Cleveland Airport yesterday was running on generators. They had no power. Oh, so I barely make my flight connect to Minneapolis, then I'm delayed out of Minneapolis. So I've made my connection, but then got delayed. So then I don't get into Kansas City. And so I probably, you know, walked out of the airport at 1215, 1230. And then I get to the rental car counter and my reservation, they're out of cars. Does that ever happen to you guys? Yes. That's the war I had the reservation, but no cars. Yeah. And it's like 1215, 1230, like I said. So, like, I asked, like, is there any, do I need the other place that? Well, budget has some. So there's like seven or eight people in line. I, like a jerk, like sprint over there. It's like a person line. So every car they have is a $500 or more for one day. Oh, God. Except for, except for a Tesla, which I've never driven a Tesla before. So, so, yeah, long story short. I get to the apartment line. I rent the Tesla and I basically had to get a tutorial on how to make it worse last night. So yeah, it was kind of a long night, but at least I know how to drive a Tesla now. There you go. Crazy. That's ridiculous. Yeah. So, I think an airport or two on that list is going to be on your... Hold on with the tornado and it ended with Abe speaking out of front on cars. Great. Well, it's going to be a lot of fun to watch Caleb play on Saturday and then we'll get your thoughts on Caleb next week when we talk to you. All right. Thanks, guys. Enjoy the weekend. All right. You too. Have a great one. Yes. Hire it on a hotline. Rattle, rattle, thunder, clatter, boom, boom, boom. Don't worry about the car accident. Captain Jay Hood, weekday morning, seven to ten. Captain Jay Hood, live from the training camp on ESPN Chicago. Live coverage of training camp is presented by Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana. It is brought to you in part by the Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana Chevy dealers. It's a Captain Jay Hood morning show on ESPN 1000 and we are streaming on the ESPN Chicago app with you till ten o'clock. Then Mike Greenberg comes in at ten o'clock. Then it's Carminate Yerko, twelve to two. And then White Sox baseball is a sock stick on the A's in the last game of the series. It's like an Abdullah after the socks right here on ESPN 1000. Cap, um, this story came across yesterday after we got off the air. So, you're familiar with FIU, aren't you? Florida, international university. FIU has new naming rights for their stadium. It'll be called now Pitbull Stadium. Like, you know, Pitbull, like the singer. This singer. So absurd. So Pitbull will create an anthem for FIU. Post about the school on social media twelve times a year and appear at one of the athletes fundraising events at least one per year throughout the term of the agreement. To five year deal, 1.2 million a year. Now, he's also going to use the stadium ten times a year through the term of the deal. And so, he's also part of the NIL Pitbull. So, let's talk about this. Five year deal, 1.2 million a year. And so, could you please, if you could Jay, pull up FIU's schedule. He's going to use this stadium. He's going to have the naming rights Pitbull Stadium for at least five years. Now, this is conference USA, if I'm not mistaken. Correct? I believe that's correct. Okay. He could have put his name on Michigan on the big house. Would have been a lot more than 1.2 million. He could have put it on Brian Denny. But here's what he did. He's a Miami guy. FIU's in Miami. Right. You're not going to put it on the U. Miami would never have that. The hurricane? Absolutely not. Cool, like FIU, which is, was it Jay? 10th or 11th out of 12 teams in conference USA? If you're going to do it, you're going to put it on that. Yeah. And he's Mr. Worldwide. He's a huge brand. My wife's a huge Pitbull fan. Huge. And I'm like, oh boy. That's right. He's Mr. Worldwide. He's got to go to Florida International. There you go. You know what the music is? It's just, it's that it's house EDM. It's just the music you listen to on the Peloton, right? It gets you, it gets you motivated. It gets you going, right? All right. So think about this. He's got the naming rights and he's going to use a stadium when he wants to. You have to tweet about it. So he can just put up there. FIU 21, Sam Houston State 17, and he's fulfilled that part of the contract. Yeah, I'm sure they're going to have. We need this message in this social post. They'll write it for him and he'll tweet it. FIU was dead last since then. Cusa last year, one in seven. Okay, so I'd like to know what the naming rights of Pitbull and him being Mr. Miami, how many butts and seats will that put at that stadium? You're ready? They got some stellar home games. That's what I'm asking. Central Michigan is their home opener. Horrible. Central Michigan. I don't know if they're going to have a football program anymore and after their Connor stallions involvement. Oh, good bye. Can I interest you in Monmouth for homecoming? Little Monmouth football action. Homecoming. How horrible is that, Cap? Homecoming is Monmouth. Non-conference Monmouth. Yeah, that's bad. Vatek. Sam Houston, New Mexico State and MTSU, Middle Tennessee State, the Blue Raiders. Not a great schedule. That's what he signed up for. Now again, he puts his name on there because he doesn't know what to do with his money. He has no idea. Like, are you running it off, Cap? But it's five-year deal. So you can write it off as an advertising expense? Yeah. Yes. But is he going to get ROI return on investment? I don't know. How big is there stadium? Is he doing concerts there? What's he doing? That remains to be safe. Yeah, I can only remember just glimpses of FIU. You know you're at the bar, right? And they put every game on. Oh, God. And then all of a sudden, on the small screen, there's FIU on CBS SportsNet. There it is. It's just a rogue game. Because that's usually, if you say FIU, that screams ESPN+. But when I leave on Fridays, I say the hoodie. Make sure you text me tomorrow your top two plays, right? Yes. And then I say to Shay, who do you like? He'll give me Lay the Seven with Kennesaw State. Take the 14th with Middle Tennessee and play Florida International in the Money Line. I'm like, wait a minute. What about like the Michigan game? Oh, no, no, no. Or the Alabama game or the USC game or Oregon, somebody big. Nope. This dude researches games. It comes up the most obscure and usually wins. But cash is though. Cash is. Those are the what your beat games. That's why. I mean, you get to the big ones later. But that 11 o'clock kick, those things that are on the rogue ESPN+ are just some local channel, that's what you put your, that's what you seek your teeth into first. So I would ask you, Cap, that Pitbull's got his name on the FIU stadium. What does Cap Stadium look like? What does that entail? Cap Stadium, you've got the naming right for five years. Northwestern. David Kaplan Field at Ryan Stadium, whatever they're going to call it. So funny story that you bring this up. Yes. I'm at the final four in Minnesota in Minneapolis, St. Paul. Yeah. Bob Huggins is talking. He's a dear friend. He's like, so you went to school up here? I said, yeah, he goes, were you an athlete? I said, oh, yeah. Well, there's a guy that went to my university, Hamlin University. I don't even know if the field still is called this, but it was called Kaplan Field. And it was this guy from like 1908 who donated money. Huggins says to me, so you were an athlete? Are you any good? I said, any good. And I pull up. There it is. Kaplan Field at Norton Stadium. And he's like, wait. This member has a field name after him. How did I not know this? To this day, he doesn't know that it isn't me, that's the Catholic name. That's great. Yeah. But what would my stadium do? Yeah, what would have? Cap stadium. I mean, you got the name and rights for five years. You and Dr. Bruce are just you. You and me and Dr. Bruce. Okay. So what does it look like? Because he's got the amenities. He's going to have concerts there. He's going to hold for himself. Yeah. He can tweet about the school. All this other stuff. So we're going to have, take that somewhere on the field for every TV. Take that. Right there. We're going to have the best food. We're going to upgrade the Skybox experience. And then Dr. Bruce can do eye exams while you're there at halftime. Set up a little food for Dr. Bruce. This all out of your pocket, of course. Oh, 100%. So you're paying for all of this. It's over here. Yeah. What does the fair look like? You mentioned the food upgrade. What does that look like? We would have probably like a deep dish pizza stand. Uh-huh. We would have a bagel and a smear stand. Oh, God. You have to. We would have a low carb wrap stand. Okay. I'd have healthy stands. I'd have unhealthy stands. We would have my wife's chocolate chip cookie stand. Yeah. We would have, we would do it up right then. We would do it up right then. Healthy and unhealthy stands. Yes. Okay. You want people in the stadium. Don't you? Okay. That's because usually the hot dogs and the, the process, which brings the people in. That's not usually a good football is what brings the people in. True. You're going to have soft pretzels? I like soft pretzels. I don't have them very often. I can't remember the last time I did, but they're good. They're very good. I just think that this is just a vanity project for, for pitfall. Absolutely. And if I'm not mistaken, Shane, the games that I might have seen with FIU are there all aluminum seats? Yeah. Yeah. I'm looking at the stadium. Pitbull stadium holds 23,000 people. It looks like an outdated Texas high school vanity project. But again, if he's going to get to use the stadium, would you say once a month? Yeah. Would you say 10 times a year? Yeah. Okay. So he does 10 concerts. He pays for itself. Yeah. The school needed the infusion of cash. He said, I'll give you the million to up front, and I'm going to do 10 concerts. Is that where pitbull is these days? You can't play hard rock. He's got to play FIU outdoors, 23,000 people. It would be kind of-- That's what's happened to pitbull now. Mr. World Ride can't draw 60K at hard rock. You know what? Well, the answer is no, I think. And secondly, this is like a residency for him. Oh, that's pathetic. And secondly, he also owns-- the deal also has a vodka company that he owns that is going to be the preferred brand at the stadium. Wonderful. There's also perks like two reserved suites for all home games as well. Here's a question. For all those home games that you just listed, can he get 20 or more people in those suites? Is he doing a concert after the game? Maybe. No. No shot. No. This has to be the most embarrassing school in America. How on Earth is your homecoming game against FCS Monmouth? How? Explain it. That's your homecoming? Because it's the only game on the schedule you know you can win. I think that's it. What an embarrassment. That's it. That's what-- Hold up. This guy here next to you used to set up games like that that he can win. You're giving up naming rights to pitbull, you're scheduling Monmouth for homecoming. Yeah. Just fold up. Yes. Go away. With a Q set doesn't need you. Fantastic. Go to FCS. Goodbye. Up front for five years. Five years each year isn't it? Pretty cool. That's it. Here's a guy here that used to schedule cream puffs in a non-conference. So we put the schedule together. We-- You. I would put the schedule together. Yes. Coach, we do go ahead and sign off on it. And I'd be like, all right, Coach, we're going to play Cal State Northridge. Yes. Remember, we had Wisconsin Stout come down. So embarrassing. Ha, ha, ha. Yeah. Say, somebody's got to help Wisconsin Stout build a new library. Right. And then I remember we would go from there to, oh, Wednesday night we're at Wisconsin. Saturday we're at Northwestern. We had to Paul on there. We're like, what are we doing playing these games? But our AD, the late Dr. Brigham, we need the revenue to come in. That's right. We're going to play like five cream puffs, go five and oh, get our head kicked in by three big ten teams, and then play one more cream puff so we finish six and three. Yeah. All right. Here we go. That's just the transaction. You help Wisconsin Stout build a new library. And Northwestern helps us. Exactly. Wisconsin helps you build new bathrooms. Right. I just love the idea that Monamuth is their homecoming game because you want to guarantee victory and to get completely hammered afterwards. That's it. The homecoming. That's it. We had one other game. That's right. We would play Marquette every year. And we, in my four years we were two and two with Marquette. Pretty good. Pretty good. Lost twice to number one to Paul by a point twice, had him. So the new F-I-U-A-D, David Kaplan, he had the same schedule for this last place S-S-S-S-U-S-A combat outfit. Make me an H. Who do you got the, what a hit. Nice job. That thing's been bothering me all show. So scheduling is an art. Let me just tell you. It is an art. Oh wait a second now. We're going to play Wisconsin on a Wednesday. We got to have a couple of days off before we go play another Big Ten team on the road. Yeah. It's an art. We slide in there Wisconsin stout so we get our confidence back. It is the classic cut of the day is right around the corner on Chicago's home for sports. No. I'm excited. I love off-season NFL. Let's go. Hoodie. What's getting him hot? Man. He gave me some information that was not prepared for. He sent Sports Illustrated. Did you not? Sports Illustrated has the swimsuit issue coming out. Listen to this, Jay Moore, and I subscribe to Sports Illustrated. Hold on. I want Jay Moore to hear this. Jay Moore. Here we go. Here we go. What's going on? Jay Moore. I get this email from Sports Illustrated at the Bright. Oh, my God. It pops up on my phone. Who is on the cover of the new Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition? And they have like five different people that are being featured. Chrissy Teigen. Teigen. That's fine. Okay. Hunter McGrady. She is a plus size model. Kate Upton. Oh. Wife of Justin Verlander. All right. Oh, and one more, there's four. Gail King. Hey. What? You said? Yeah. Gail King. Yeah. Gail King. She actually looks really good. What do you mean, actually? Well, I just hit her with a button. Do you think of Gail King as a swimsuit model? Excellent journalist. How about that? So good for her. Hey, now that you think about it. Yeah. If it's good enough, 50 cents, good enough for me. Yeah. Absolutely. How about that? And that's all, folks. Not too bad Chicago cut steakhouse again. It is awesome. It is on the south north side of Chicago River lunch on a day like today on their exceptional patio best in the city. You mentioned to me something I had that heard and this will be the first time I think me and the audience has heard this and this is from Powell Finebaum. Powell Finebaum going after Jim Harbaugh. Yes. He asked about Harbaugh and the allegations that the NCA now is leveling and Harbaugh saying that he absolutely, I do not believe in lying or cheating, blah, blah, blah, blah. And here is Paul Finebaum's response to Jim denying his involvement in the science deal. I mean, it is, it's an Oscar winning performance creating. I mean, I had a lot of different emotions. I mean, I wanted to throw all kinds of adjectives up on the board. I wanted to label him as a pathological liar or as someone who is delusional. But I can't do it anymore because I mean, I think he in many ways is the Jack Nicholson of coaching. I mean, he's a man for all seasons. He has so many different lanes and you really just can't get mad at the guy. I mean, he, he ran, you can't say he ran a program into the ground because they won the national championship. Yeah, he left a, a stench behind, but as we have said, it will get cleaned up with very little penalty. He's making a fortune with the Chargers and I, I, I, I, I'm going to bow to, to, to, to, at the feet of Jim Harbaugh for, for pulling off this scam and then acting like he didn't do anything wrong. Paul Finebaum. Wow. Strong. That is strong. Like he is directly calling him a lighter. Yes. Just said, pathological liar. I was going to call that he's an Oscar worthy actor. Great. Strong. He was Paul and he was, remember Harbaugh was in the big 10. So he's always going to be against anybody in the big 10. Correct. As an SEC honk. Great. We thank you for listening. You're calling in a big part of the program here on Captain Jay Hooda. Thanks to Jay Moore and Sean to Eric and for also Shane Orling. How about we do this tomorrow? I'll deal breakers Thursday. That will be awesome. Look forward to it. Have a great day. So long everybody, take that from Lake Forest.
