NBC News Radio, I'm Lisa Taylor. Tropical Storm Debbie is bringing heavy rain and tornadoes to North Carolina on its way northeast. Marissa Parra says a deadly tornado was already touched down near Raleigh. A tornado took off the roofs damaged several homes, including the one you see behind me. And unfortunately, the man that search and rescue teams were looking for, they did not find alive. There have been at least 11 confirmed tornadoes from the storm with three happening in North Carolina. Maximum sustained winds are near 40 miles an hour and Debbie's likely to become a tropical depression this afternoon or this evening. Donald Trump is set to speak today as new polls show Vice President Kamala Harris gaining some momentum. A Marquette Law School survey gives Harris a slight lead over Trump nationally. Trump will hold a news conference from his Marilago estate in Florida at 2 p.m. Eastern. Meanwhile Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, continue their rallies and key battleground states. Stocks are surging on Wall Street. The Dow Jones industrial average has been up 500 points in today's session. The Nasdaq has been up as much as 400 points. It comes as first time unemployment numbers came in lower than expected. Taylor Swift's concerts in Austria this weekend have been canceled following arrests connected to an alleged terror plot. Austrian officials said two suspects were taken into custody Wednesday. Swift was scheduled to perform Thursday, Friday and Saturday with each concert expected to draw 65,000 fans with another 10 to 15,000 outside the venue. Sam Watson set the world record on his way to winning bronze in men's speed climbing. Sam Watson is going to walk away with another world record and the bronze. Watson came up short in the semi-final before climbing his way to the podium in 4.74 seconds. It's the first Olympic medal for the 18-year-old Carson Tyler fell short of the podium after finishing fourth in the men's three-meter springboard final. Tyler finished with 429.25 total points. And Team USA celebrated winning a medal in artistic swimming for the first time in 20 years after taking silver. You're listening to the latest on NBC News Radio.
