Good afternoon, I'm Kate Capattich in the TV six newsroom with your on-the-go headlines for Wednesday, August 7th. Firefighters from several local departments responded to a local restaurant early Wednesday morning for a structure fire. According to officials on the scene, the fire started in the oven at TC's Pizza at 315 First Street East in Milan. Officials say there is damage to the inside of the building, but the extent is not yet known. TC's Pizza posted to their Facebook that the fire was just a minor setback and the restaurant will be back at it before you know it. So some good news for pizza fans in Milan. Rocco and County and Scott County announced a tool designed to alert users about potential threats to their real estate holdings. It's available at both counties recorder offices for free. The online property fraud alert platform assists property owners and stakeholders in protecting themselves from fraudulent activities, immediately said. You can find more information on that on our KWQC TV six news app and website. The blood emergency readiness corps was activated due to the needs on Florida's Gulf Coast following the impact of Hurricane Debbie. According to their website BERC was established in 2021 to reserve blood that could be utilized in the event of a sudden increase in demand. BERC is comprised of blood centers from across the U.S. that have committed to reserving extra units blood on a rotating on-call schedule. Speaking of weather, we didn't get to see much sunshine yesterday, but now the clouds are moving out as high pressure moves in, providing us with a pleasant stretch of weather across the QCA. Look for mostly sunny and mild conditions this afternoon with highs reaching the upper 70s to lower 80s. A weak frontal system passing through Thursday will bring a few more clouds into the weather picture, but not much else. Sunshine returns to wrap up the week and kick off the weekend with unseasonably cool temperatures in the 70s. We're back in the 80s by next week. That wraps up your on-the-go headlines for Wednesday, August 7th. In the TV six newsroom, I'm Kate Copadage.
