In B.C. News Radio, I'm Lisa Taylor. Donald Trump is set to speak today as new polls show Vice President Kamala Harris gaining some momentum. A Marquette Law School survey gives Harris a slight lead over Trump nationally. Trump will hold a news conference from his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, 2 p.m. Eastern, and is expected to propose a new debate with Harris. The two tickets have been unable to come to an agreement so far to meet up. Meanwhile, Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, continue their rallies and key battleground states. Tropical Storm Debbie is bringing heavy rain and tornadoes to North Carolina. According to the National Hurricane Center, the storm is heading north from South Carolina and is around 80 miles southeast of Charlotte. There have been at least 11 confirmed tornadoes from the storm with three happening in North Carolina. It will eventually hit all the way up to the northeast by Saturday. Maximum sustained winds are near 40 miles an hour. And Debbie is likely to become a tropical depression this afternoon or this evening. Lisa Taylor, M.B.C. News Radio.
