I'm glad to have you with us alongside as always. Hopefully you're on the downhill run to the weekend and whether you are not. In any event, we're glad to have you alongside a lot to get to today. Football news, Olympic news, baseball news. There's there's several different pathways to take on all of this. And that includes the fact that the men's 200 meter final just ran a few minutes ago. If you're one of those people wants to go into media blackout and wait until it until it's reared in prime time tonight on NBC. I get it. I understand that I'm going to give you a few seconds here. And you have a few seconds to disengage from us starting now. Okay. You know, it there was all of the conversation about no allows. He did run. He did metal. He did not win. He wound up finishing third took the bronze on this. And in fact, not only did he not win, he wasn't even the top American finisher in that. So, Ben. He took the silver and the gold medal went to the runner from Botswana. And I'm going to get. I don't want to. I do not want to mess up his name. So I've got a, I'll pull it back up, but he did not. He did not win. And then word came down just a little bit ago that no allows was diagnosed with COVID a couple of days ago. And he did look pretty winded when it was run, which, which shows you how talented he is if he indeed is dealing with COVID and yet for all of that, wound up meddling earning a bronze medal in that. So there you are with it. Also, the United States women's volleyball team had a thriller of a match. It was much like the one with the men yesterday, except the men who had a two one lead and a chance to put it away could not do it in the four set and lost in the fifth set tiebreaker to Poland. So Poland moved into the final on the women's side. The women this morning had a two one lead in their match with Brazil. Brazil was able to win the four set. It went to a fifth set tiebreaker and the US did win 1511. So the United States, which won the gold medal in volleyball, women's volleyball at the Tokyo Olympics has a chance to defend that gold medal early on Sunday morning and they're going to play the winner of the match between Italy and Turkey. And right now looks like it's going to be Italy. Italy has taken the first two sets. Turkey is up eight seven in the third set. But again, Italy in a really good shape, perhaps to take that one. So you have that going on. So men's basketball is just now tipped off. Has it not to Cam? Yeah, underway in the first quarter. Okay. So they're on the way. And of course, and that's in the semifinals and they're playing Serbia. And we'll keep you updated on that because the men are trying to get to the gold medal game, which would be on Sunday and they would play the winner. Well, the winner is France. France won the first semifinal being Germany today, 73 to 69. So France, the host nation will be in the gold medal game on Sunday morning. Yeah. But say Lee, I think had the was the leading score for France, 17 points. Then a shooter had 18 points to lead Germany. The shooter played for now. He was with what he was with the thunder. He's with the Lakers. A lot of teams. Yeah. Who's it with? I can't remember who it is. Brooklyn Nets. Brooklyn. Okay. Well, no wonder. It's kind of become the Siberia, the NBA, as in it. Yeah. But France has won. And so it's on to the gold medal game for France. Germany will play in the bronze medal game on Sunday against the loser, that game between Serbia and the United States. The US won the first two meetings. They won an exhibition. And they won in pool play, both times by 26 points. So we'll keep you updated on that and let you know how that is progressing as well. But they are just underway in that one football notes. We'll, we're going to hear from Longhorn's head coach Steve Sarkisian. Sark with a media availability after practice this morning. So we'll hear from Sark. We'll also hear some more conversation from Longhorn football players today. So we've got that coming up. Of course, we have inconceivable coming up, which also has a little bit of a personal touch. We'll get to that with inconceivable. Greg Tepper, the managing editor of Dave Campbell's Texas football magazine will join us as well. And that will be in the four o'clock hour. Tepper will be on the talk. We'll talk some college football with the magazine. And also, we'll continue our statewide high school football previews. We've done so far, six A, five A and four A. So we've done the first half of those. And Tepper will join us to preview three. We'll do a three A state football preview as well. So that's coming up also. So there's a lot to get to on the program. Also, there's, like I said, there's baseball news. There's a couple of different baseball things. First of all, the Chicago White Sox have fired their manager Pedro Grafault. There is no big shock of that. They're 28 and 89 right now. They have the worst record in all the baseball. Incidentally, tomorrow, Gene Watson, who, of course, is in that White Sox front off. He just got there in his first season there and trying to help them get things turned around. He is scheduled to join us tomorrow to talk baseball, not just about his ball club, but about the other things that have happened. And we'll get Geno's thoughts on that. So that's tomorrow on the program as well. So much to get to, we'll keep you updated on U.S. Olympic men's basketball. Also on the opponent for women's volleyball is that match is still going on right now between Italy and Turkey. There are other other events to update you on as well as the U.S. draws closer to 100 total medals in these Olympics. They've been really, really good on that.
