So the question of the day North America is, who do you think is going to win the rookie of the year award? I can't believe I'm doing this at the beginning of August, but it is a slow sports day in both off-season news for the NBA and the NFL. So I thought, what the heck, let's talk about who's going to actually win this year's rookie of the year award in the National Football League. Will it be Jaden Daniels behind door number one or door number two Caleb Williams? That is the big question on the underrated pod tonight. Hey, but first I have to do this. I'm playing this video of Troy Aikman on the Pat McAfee show the other day and I saw this and I had to call my wife down and I was like, "Honey, I think Troy Aikman actually stole some glasses from Elton John." I am just saying, this is unbelievable, really a fashion statement that I thought I would never actually see from one Troy Aikman. My wife went on to ask the question, "Well maybe there was a medical reason for the actual red glasses." I tried to find out if there was, but at the time of this publication of this video I haven't able to find out anything. If you happen to know why Troy would be wearing those red glasses, which were totally disturbing on television, I would love to know. Onto the primary topic of the night, which is Jaden Daniels versus Caleb Williams. For those of you that have been following the underrated pod for the past year, you know I'm a big fan of both of these players. I've been a big fan of both of these players for quite some time and we could look at the stats. Jaden threw more touchdowns last year, he threw 40 and Caleb threw 30 and then we're going to throw all of that out the door because when you think about what a prototypical national football league quarterback should look like and act like, I think that is absolutely Caleb Williams. And when you do a comparison of the weapons that that particular Caleb Williams is going to have with the Chicago Bears, assuming everybody stays healthy, this should be Caleb Williams trophy, so to speak, to lose. It is hard for me to believe that a Jaden Daniels is actually going to find a way to actually win this year's Rookie of the Year award. I think it's clearly we'll go to Caleb assuming there are no major injuries to his offensive weapons. But there are a lot of people actually out there that would disagree with that statement. I think there are several people in the media that actually would believe that Jaden Daniels certainly has a strong chance. I mean, he did play in college football like forever, he's one of those quarterbacks that played five years in college football, and of course, there is some COVID related issues to that all, but he is a couple years older than Caleb Williams. But I think what you're going to see on HBO's hard knocks when it comes out, you're going to see a Caleb Williams who is absolutely ready to handle the pressure of being his starting quarterback in the national footballing. I think what you see with Jaden Daniels, especially when he's being interviewed, you also see another quarterback who is a little older than Caleb and certainly seems to be handling the pressure of the situation in front of him as well. But when I think about the Washington commander organization right now, and I'm sure they will get it right eventually there with the new owner and the new regime and hopefully a new name for the football team at some point. But for Jaden Daniels, I get concerned and my concerns around Jaden Daniels really don't come with his ability to run the football or his ability to attempt to stay in the pocket longer to actually make passes. The real concern I have with Jaden Daniels is, is he too thin? Will he ultimately just get beat up in the national football league? Because quite frankly, he's not a little thicker. Now, as we all know, especially those of you that have gone through the aging process, you know as well as I know that as you get older, you often put on more muscle if you want to, but you often put on more weight. So I'm sure the weight issue could certainly be addressed if it's something they're concerned about with the Washington commanders at this point. Jaden Daniels though, just his frame as he sort of looks right now, you got to remember the National Football League is like 10 times faster than what Jaden Daniels actually experienced in college football. And so while he would go up against, you know, the fastest player on a team in college football, now imagine the starting 11 are the fastest players on any team he would have faced in college football. Afterwards, it is a faster paced game and injuries certainly are a concern. It's always been a concern that I've had for smaller quarterbacks in the national football league. That's not to say that Jaden Daniels doesn't have a ton of talent. He has clearly proven that he has also clearly proven that he can go from one program to another and pick up a new offense pretty easily. Jaden Daniels is the real deal, don't get me wrong, but if I had to pick who I think is actually going to win this year's Rookie of the Year award, it certainly would be Caleb Williams. All right, North America, I want to know what your thoughts are on this particular topic and or why the hell was Troy Aikman wearing Elton John's glasses. Those are the questions tonight, go ahead and drop in your answers. Hey, thanks so much for tuning in to the underrated pod. Well over a million views in the past 12 months.
