Coming up on the underrated we are going to talk about Dak Prescott's contract extension I mean at least we're gonna talk about Dak Prescott talking about his contract extension That is tonight's topic on the underrated. All right, so we begin tonight with some video With Dak Prescott actually talking about his potential Contract extension, we're gonna go ahead and play that for you right now Again, yeah, I mean there's there's been Conversations back and forth but for the most part for me as a as y'all know I've been letting my agent do that Especially as we get right here to training camp Day one of training camp on my flips to just obviously helping my team and just doing everything I can within the organization and on the football field to make sure that I'm my best and everyone around me is their best And the money and all that will take care of itself as it always has Okay, so that was video of Dak Prescott talking about his a potential contract extension Look Dallas cowboy nation. Look Jerry Jones and family Dak Prescott actually had a quarterback rating last season at least during the regular season of 105.9 That is nearly two points better than Patrick Momes averages throughout his career Patrick Momes averages a 103 and change in terms of his quarterback rating in the regular season now I know what you're saying you're out there right now You're going to ball, but what about the postseason and I get it Look Dak Prescott is most equivalent to like a Kirk cousins in the postseason just Completely fell apart and I understand that but we are sitting here with like like two and a half months to go before the start of your national football league season and Do you believe that Dak Prescott is actually going to start this season without a contract? Do you really believe that that is a good thing for the Dallas Cowboys to actually do look? I'm telling you right now. I think the Contract will absolutely get done. I don't understand What exactly the Jones family is waiting for at this point that makes? Absolutely no sense to me at all. Look, they're going to have to pay Dak Prescott Trevor Lawrence Dollars in fact, they're gonna have to pay them a little bit more than Trevor Lawrence who is by the way in my opinion the most Overrated quarterback in the national football league. He absolutely did not deserve The fifty five million dollar year deal that he's getting hey 275 million 200 of it is guaranteed and it's a five year deal I mean it is a crazy contract when you consider what Trevor Lawrence actually hasn't accomplished yet Now in terms of Dak Prescott, look, I understand if you're the Cowboys You don't want to give him a five-year deal and I think that makes sense I think it certainly makes sense to go to Dak Prescott and say hey look We want to give you a three-year deal and then negotiate on that fourth year at the end of the day The Jones family is going to ultimately have to pay Dak Prescott somewhere between 55 and 60 million dollars now if they had taken care of Dak Prescott earlier in the off season They probably could have gone away with a Jared Goff style contract where they only had to pay him 53 million Dollars, I understand the cap restrictions that the Dallas Cowboys have but this is Dak Prescott We are talking about look at what he did last year during the regular season and if you protect him enough you can pretty much count on a similar performance out of Dak Prescott This year at least during the regular season all right one more video for you of Dak Prescott from earlier in the day He is talking about the boot controversy. We'll go and play then back with some final thoughts for you Yeah, I'm great. Honestly, I'm getting older It's the same ankle rate that I snapped and had a nasty surgery on four years ago So yeah a couple of hard days of training and you know you get a little sore and then you're going on a fishing trip And you want to protect it and and make sure that things don't get worse. So Literally, it is absolutely nothing That's why I suppose that people people are reaching trying to make things that they aren't I'm getting older have to take care of my body I have to be smart and if I can take precautions and lessening something about putting on a boot I'm gonna do it And so sorry that it's because that's a war Okay, so that was Dak Prescott Basically chuckling at the end talking about the boot look I understand why there was a bunch of media attention around this I mean look at the end of the day. I know the cowboys Technically are not really still America's team But they are still America's team aren't they at the end of the day Dak Prescott is still The quarterback of America's team. So everything that he does Garner's a significant amount of attention and yes Putting a boot on your foot when you go on a fishing trip Which like what was the last time you were on a fishing trip and it actually became very strenuous So so it's it's one of those things where I think Dak was just a little bit nervous about how his ankle was feeling And he just wanted to protect it and that's all it is and obviously there's absolutely nothing wrong with the ankle So you can dispel all those rumors But in terms of like getting a deal done for Dak Prescott I want to know what you think North America. How much do you think the Jones family is ultimately going to have to pay Dak Prescott? And do you like me believe that a deal will get done before the start of the season? Look, I think they've got to get a deal done in the next couple of weeks Like they can't let this thing drag on and drag on and drag on I would imagine That if they are going to give him a contract it will happen within the next two weeks All right drop in your comments.
