Amazon, spin less, smile more. >> Fox Sports Update. >> Former Chelsea and Tanya manager Mauricio Pocatino has emerged as a leading candidate to coach the U.S. Men's National Soccer Team. A source with the knowledge of the situation confirmed to Fox Sports Thursday. The 52-year-old from Argentina is available after parting ways with Chelsea following the 2023-24 season. According to sources, Pocatino's camp first met with U.S. Soccer's sporting director Matt Crocker in Europe in mid-July. And he was one of a number of high-profile coaches the Federation had initial conversations with. Either directly or through intermediaries. Others included former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, ex-England coach Garrett Southgate, and current Hoppenheim manager Pellegrino Mataroso. Patrick Riviera, who recently stepped out from his post with Strasbourg in France's League One, was also reportedly contacted. Other coaching news, the Chicago White Sox fired manager Pedro Grafalf Thursday, two days after the team ended the 21-game losing streak that tied the American League record. Grafalf was in the middle of the second season as a major league manager after a long career in the game, and it was the first manager fired this season. The team named Grady Sizemore, three-time all-star with Cleveland, as the interim manager instead of permanent replacement likely to be hired after the season. The White Sox had a 14-game losing streak, also from May 22nd to June 6th, which set the team record. The fall holds an overall record of 89 and 190 as a major league manager. Quarterback, Nick Foles, announced since retirement from the NFL Thursday after 11 seasons in the league, you made the announcement on social media stating from being drafted by the Eagles to win into Super Bowl every step has been a blessing. According to the post, Foles is planning to spend more time with his family and embrace the next chapter of his life. The Eagles selected Foles in the third round of the 2012 draft. He spent the first three years of his career in Philadelphia and started 24 games and returned as a backup in 2017, led the Eagles to a Super Bowl win after taking over for an injured Carson Wentz. Foles was also named Super Bowl MVP after the 41-33 victory over the New England Patriots.
