great start with a win obviously um but how do you feel about the performance as well um i thought it's strange first after you know we're driving over to the game it's rain i think that suits us down to the ground nice slick pitch but you know five ten minutes in the game it's dried out it was so sticky so slow and we didn't really adapt to that very well i thought we struggled to move the ball like i'd like us to um and they're probably a little bit more territory but i've instead that um first after i've hit the crossbar where the goal disallowed john's feasible across the first goal that um i don't know no one's got on the end of um we missed a couple of other good chances and obviously got the goal so we couldn't have had a few more goals at half time i felt um second half thought we got more control over the game without really creating too many chances but i felt that we were no in control of large spells of that game felt pretty short with us there one or two moments through the course of the game so um yeah all in all it's always difficult that first game your lads getting up to speed you can't replicate that kind of ten point preseason friendly so it's job done and um yeah good start takes a few of those things after night you know it's got our first goal kept our first clean sheet first win so to get that done out of the way um yes it's up for a difficult couple of away games and uh two great goals i mean the the will love what i'm free cake was uh picture but is that something he has in his locker which you've seen before it may be a yeah yeah it is it is i think you see both you know not just his um free cake sheet obviously he's finished it brilliantly and that in that top con it can go both sides you can put it both ways inside for goalkeepers so to know what's coming um yeah he's he sent piece of delivery from cons really good reset across bat from from one um they put on the money for staff so yeah he's got a few strings whose bores will and we saw a couple of those today then the second one worked it really well picked up a loose ball but john on it half turn and it picked perfect through ball to john who finished it really well and got the goal is his performance probably deserved and i think two nil will probably a fair reflection over the past the 90 minutes yeah he's got some patience doesn't he john he gave him a bit of a Tory time didn't he yeah he did you know i said to lads at half time we're not getting him on the ball enough we've turned down past he's two in the first half the first time he got it you know went past there left side essential defender with ease got into the box um and i thought we'd turn down the opportunity to get him on the ball and um john and picked a perfect past like say difficult on this pitch when when it's so dry just you know we probably should roll with that a little bit but john and got that one on the money and and john very composed really good finish awesome great to have a clean sheet and just as you said they didn't have a lot of chances but they're carried a bit of thread yeah i thought like i said i thought they had a lot of territory they're quite direct they get it in in the final third and look to have to pin you in and put a ball in your box and on the whole we defended wealth you a few bits of our iron out we are a little bit of sloppiness printing at times which you know maybe entertain us um probably going to be be up there where we'll get punished again so um yeah there'll be a difficult opponent for for most teams that come across this season but so you know couple of good players top of the pitch and uh seeming to the new gene in behind a technically decent as well so the other costumes problems will scare girls so it's good playing sheet from our point of view and europe's are being on the ollie bern and adiana moke is sub-sug so strong bench and then also built you know able to give young some most of them as well yeah exactly with um you know the new rule allowing you to bring five on was um was certainly helpful i think it makes sense um so we've got through pre-season pretty much everyone everyone's right obviously jake right it's the big big loss for us from pre-season but um we've got our adapt to that everyone else is just there are there about but we've lost jake you know gabs is coming back from his knee surgery so he's not ready to start yet and luis wittoms obviously one that's that's on his way back as well so we are shot top end of the pitch but the lads are you know stepped up there to ear from threest guard today and um and jarden we're certainly a threat throughout the game as well so um you know lads have stepped up and and done really well up there and um oh obviously see where we go whether we need another body up there over the next few weeks so we can get gabs um mama's ready and and luis wittoms we're not starting to be involved as well then you brought in um jake mak today can you tell us something about the quality he brings to this squad yeah jake's very very good player you know played much higher level than this and and you know suffered with um a fatigue type illness a few years ago and and he's managed to manage uh get on top of it manage it and and get himself back to a level where he feels he can you know come and play and obviously we saw him in pre-season couple of games we did really really well um little hamstring injury just sitting back um which probably delayed us just getting things finalized but yeah i think jack will be a really really good asset for us this season and super way that that we want to play and certainly as we're not getting to the stage of the season where the pitch is getting a bit quicker and a bit slicker it'll be a little quick to his own and be fantastic for us i'm sure we've got stopped in the way on wednesday isn't it i think um do we know much about them at this moment in time not a lot no they'll look through a little brief look through we've got them out of being pre-season um we've obviously had them watch today and we'll get a report on that and um yeah we'll we'll put a plan together to uh to try and go out there and you know offer back of this one get another another good result um be difficult always wary of playing teams that are newly promoted early on in the season they've carried that good feeling through don't they from on previous seasons so it'll be a tough test a little bit unknown but we'll do the best we can to prepare as well as we can know as much as we possibly can about them and um yes the next one of our hectic schedule in at least first few weeks this season as as things stand we're top of the league with three thousand six hundred minutes to go plus plus stop a use so we can be confident let's call it off let's finish our idea let's say that's where everyone wants to be dot then transfer there for as long as possible if we go home and and when tonight great we we'll do that but yeah just in part of the way the performances levels performance levels keep improving them obviously there'll be tougher tests to come as well um and that first one knows it'll be on
