(upbeat music) - Welcome back to hated adored, never ignored. Now the season is almost upon us. Now some people would say the season started against Manchester City at Wembley, but after we lost the penalty shootout, my main client I believe the season starts at home at an old traffic against Fulham in a couple of days time, that is where all my focus is and it was a pre-season friendly against Manchester City, but I had Rob on the podcast this week to discuss all that, always loved chatting to Rob's, we sort of picked the bones out of the Manchester Derby game result performance, however you want to describe it and look at the transfer business was towards breaking about an hour before kickoff, which did take up a lot of our focus in the build up to that match. So I'll have to get through one today's podcast, which is a very good one, so I'll do stay tuned. But this week, a bit of trivia, as always. Now the reason for this question, which may give you a hint, when I was watching the match last night, it did give me a reminder and sort of jogged my memory, so there is your first potential hint there. But my question to you is, who was David May's centre-back partner in the 1999 FA Cup final against Newcastle? We did beat Newcastle two-nil on the way to the treble. David May was one of the centre-backs who partnered in the centre of defence. Now stay tuned to the end of the episode and I'll give you the answer for that one, but hopefully we do enjoy the show, it was a great chat with Rob, and stay tuned to the end. Cheers. So Rob is back on the podcast, which I'm very much looking forward to having his chapter. First off, Rob, that my serious question, was last night mentioned Sadabi in the community share? Was that a friendly, or was that a proper match? Now that we know the result of it. Well, look, there's two answers. There's a Rob answer in the United one. It's probably the right answer. It's probably it's a preseason friendly now that we've lost. But I'm one of those rare people that if they had a Wembley with something to lift and a bit of celebrations, is it trophy and I counted? And I'm pretty sure United have it on their glory wall that we see how much we've got. But look, it's in the past and we were looking forward to next week now. But yeah, look, I thought we played well, but I'm sure we'll discuss that now. Well, we'll start on that in the performance and we'll get into individual performances and testics and look in the head and obviously we'll touch on a little bit of transfer business towards him. But in regards to the performance, so we'll discuss them last night as well. And I'm sure everyone has their group chats and everything in regards to look at the Manchester City and Manchester City United. We had far greater fears heading into the FA Cup final of what could happen. I don't think I've got a good City win five, six nil. Same thing that happened last night in the community shielding Manchester City turned it on. They're a hell of a lot better team than Manchester United and they've shown in the past, they could hit six goals past Manchester United. If there's one of those teams and that is how good they are and unfortunately how bad sometimes we can be on our day or not so day, if you know what I mean. But just in regards to performance, looks at City Domino to see what he's a better team. As you would expect, a Manchester United FA from the finished product and there's many sort of bones we can pick out of the performance. But overall, in regards to the way we played, we'll get into that defensive structure and then sort of move forward, what that means. Very tense. In regards to on the ball, as I said, starting from Andre and Ana, playing out from the back in the midfield. Yes, we didn't dominate again. We didn't take the game to Manchester City. But when we did get our passengers to play, we'll just discuss them before we went on air. We played some good football. 100% man, and I'm playing out from the back. Very, very persistent. And I kind of think we got a bit of a prelude from what Ana said the other day, just I'm in an interview saying that, if you think what you're worried about, what he's saying last year, he's saying nothing yet. And we're saying that against, you know, in the community, should against City, a great opponent like themselves are pressing and whatnot. Yeah, every single time, I reckon at least in that first half, played out from the back and, you know what, man, we didn't really make a mistake. You know, everyone, people like Maguire, who's not the most comfortable person in that situation, he didn't really make a mistake and we persisted with it. And, you know, even though we weren't really getting up the pitch many times, you know, out of 10, we might have done it once or twice. We didn't really make many, there might have been one or two mistakes where we actually like lost a ball through getting pressed or something like that. So I was quite impressed. And I think that, you know, we'll talk about it soon when other players come in and obviously partnering with Sandra and Latinos. I think we will get more and more comfortable in that situation and it will work eventually. Yeah, I think the mistakes for me wasn't so much a structural thing. It was just personal-wise, then John Heaven's in the centre of Martinez, just on a different wavelength. They were in a different book on that on that day. Usually they're playing quite well together from my memory in the centre of defence, but you put them both on the left-hand side. They'll put both playing two different games. I thought the centre of Martinez, who I have been calling for a wilder, sort of get a little bit of a run-up left back. Yeah, that's done for me now. Not so much in regards to him defending a left-back, but in terms of getting him in the midfield and getting him in the ball. So look, in an injury crisis, who I won't lose any sleep if he goes back to left back, but definitely he's got his first stint there in a Manchester United shirt, didn't quite go to plan. But just on that, you mentioned Harry Maguire and obviously there, Johnny Evans and Andreo Nana. Take your hat off in regards to, or take, is it a friendly, or is it a competitive game, out of this equation. And just look at preparation for the season. Playing out from the back with two players who, look, Johnny Evans is good on the ball, Harry Maguire, is sort of adequate on the ball, but playing a little bit better on what he looks on the ball. He looked the most graceful. But two players, it was not really their game there, sort of old-school English centre-backs, where you look at what Manchester United are bringing in now with the littler centre of Martinez, Lenny Yoro. That is obviously the type of defender who is more sort of comfortable on the ball. Was there a ten-harmed right or is he right, just in general to keep playing that style when he doesn't have the tools? Like, just in regards to, does he hammer home his point? This is how I want to play it regardless. And that sends a message to the higher-ups sort of thing, or should he be adapting? Saying, look, which Johnny Evans and Harry Maguire may be, no, not that it turned out to be a disaster, but on another day, it could have. Should he sort of adapt and say, "Okay, I'm not playing this style today. I want to change it up." - Hardline, look, in my opinion, I'm actually with Eric on this one. I actually think, again, I'm a systems man. I like seeing style, I like seeing systems. And if that's what they're practicing on the pitch during the week, if that's what they've been doing their pre-season and on, with the juniors and with the seniors, I want to say it consistent. The more you try it, if they're comfortable to bore or you're not comfortable to bore, that's the style he wants to play up. Every week, we were chipping and changing for different personnel. Look, I can understand there is a point where you play to the player's strengths, but if they want to continually be in a system or play his way he wants to play, I think everyone should try and adapt to his way of playing. And that's obviously, that's why we're bringing in other players to try and help that system work more persistently. But yeah, I'm on Eric's side for that. And I was more than happy. Again, I wasn't freaking out, probably would have freaked out a little bit more for us against Fulham next week. And we'll play in those same personnel, players in. You know, when it's a real, we're playing for points kind of thing. But again, I thought we'd done it adequately. I would say the personnel was a big thing. Martinez last night, I don't want to see him at left back unless it's an emergency. I don't know who's going to play there next week. That's a big question mark. But yeah, look, I am on Eric's side for the minute, I'm happy for a thing. And I'm happy to have people like your Maguire stay in the team as a good squad player. Like I said, two weeks ago, he was probably after we bought Lenny, he was probably going to be first or second on the bench. Then we lose him. You know, as of last night, he was people, I was praying for him to play last night after he had his little knock during the week. So now that obviously we've some new news over in the last 24 hours, again, they might fall back there. We have someone that's going to come in and be a lot more comfortable. And then, well, but I'm happy for him to be there to fall in line if there's interest, which, you know, if you're not at the moment, it feels like there's one every game. You mentioned left back there and we'll touch on that. Well, with the incoming, he's been in regards to next week. He's literally going to be available. He's mostly going to be available. If Aaron Wabesak has won the adventure, so now the player said he had a delay. He's going to have to be on the right. So that full-back situation was very interesting next week. There was a case that couldn't be less than a Martinez. Who knows? I'm not sure if Eric Tenhar gave any clarinias to why Harry Mass wasn't involved. I believe it was obviously on the bench and came on Harry Mass wasn't. I found that interesting. I don't think there's any sort of course of concern there or anything, but I did think Harry Mass would be involved. Now, before we touch on one or two more individuals that are higher up the picture, we mentioned structures or mentioned systems in regards to we all know that huge concerns last season regards. When we turned over the ball, there was a 50-minute gap in the midfield where teams would just walk through and especially teams like Manchester City, even if we're compact against teams like that, they'll still be able to walk through our personnel in midfield. Now, that happened on occasion. Now, that's going to happen against the best team, arguably in the world. Some would say Manchester City, but it did happen on occasions. What I would say though, and that's of course for concern, and that's something probably Harry Tenno, it's biggest tactical thing he does need to solve, you're thinking though, because the way I was watching it, the two or three times we did get caught in midfield and said that City were breaking through. It wasn't so much. I think once it was through, we'll play in quite deep and the attackers were quite higher and they've sort of played through the press and they got at us. But nine times out of 10 when it happened, in my opinion, it was more just individual mistakes. So Kazimiro, sometimes he went from absolutely Champions League, Kazimiro, absolutely brilliant to Chubby Kazimiro, who couldn't do a three metre pass. And I just thought when we got caught, it was more the individual mistake, a bad pass by Rashford or Bruno Fernandez, losing the ball in a dangerous season. It Kazimiro misplaced in a pass, rather than the structural issues we'll see last year where Bruno Fernandez was pressing a goal keeper and Harry Maguire was up back on our adding yard box and there was that big gap. So just your thoughts in regards to the handful of times we did see on the sort of visual side of things, what we'll say last year in regards to a team walking through our midfield. - Yeah, look, first start is you have to say, look, obviously I was surprised to actually say, copy me and you actually start. - Yeah, I didn't even consider him for this match. And I'm glad he was there. - I believe I am. - I just never put him in any team selections. I almost forgot about him a little bit. - Same with me. And look, for me, he was just there. I don't think anything he'd done anything great. I don't think he'd done anything bad. Obviously there was a rush from those few players. At the start of the game, Bruno had a bit of rush, mainly had a bit of rush. The ones that haven't really had a preseason but the team had only been back for a few days. Because that's got to come into inclusion as well. But yeah, look, I do agree with you. I think it's got this thing happening with the 4-4 at the moment when obviously we're trying to go up and down and they kind of just leave that bit of, when there are forwards or those two extra players are moving up to the forward line and there is that bit of a whole-- - Do you think that's incredible? Do you think that's major's not done at the striker? - I think major's do not have a striker at the moment. But again, we've seen that 4-2-4 kind of thing at the back end of last season when we had that little bit of a, you know, that bright spot going into the final and stuff like that. I do think that's also because of the striker situation as well. Marcia wasn't available last season. And just on that front, but you can really kind of see the pecking order at the moment, who he trusts as, you know, Bruno Fernandez has been, as well, a couple of days he's been into training, came and being frozen straight into the fourth line or whatever he was doing with Mason Mount kind of interlocking there. Well, we do, like I said, I really do think we're going to see a Xerxes at some point or I was surprised that even like with the people that have been on a pre-season now, trading center for me, I had him in my line up at the fourth line last night considering he's been there the whole pre-season. Or I even thought if anything, he might have played a Rashford down the middle. And like I said, we've got that many wingers that are playing okay at the moment, that he could have spread them out between you, gonna have to, your anything he's been on a pre-season, see intro as well. And I know that he's been in quite a good pre-season. So yeah, I hope I did answer your question there about the midfield. But with Casa Mirro, I do agree with you. I think he was Roxxon Diamond. But I do think he was better than he was worse last night. At the start of the game, he was a bit rusty. But I thought, I think he's attacking plays more than better than his defensive play at the moment. Some of those balls over the top and in behind were excellent. So yeah, we'll see how we go next week. - You rattle for it, and look, I completely agree. You rattle off all those names and I want to touch on especially the front three and then those wide plays, especially looking ahead to next week where we're going to discuss in Gennacho, Rashford and that, et cetera. But just in regards to midfield, you could touch on Bruno Fernandez in the false nine, should have been Sancho, would we like to see in a strike room? It's actually, we'll see you while in there in the future sort of thing. - It's all a little bit disjointed there and understandably so, given the context. The one who is always going to be a little bit disjointed for is Mason Mount. Now, what we all know and we can get into the discussion, the sign in a Mason Mount, 12 months ago and everyone's opinions on that and they're all valid. But here we are, 12 months later, let's look at the situation. He's in a similar situation of Bruno Fernandez in regards to on the pitch. Was he a striker? Was he a false nine? Was he a ten? Was he in midfield? A little bit of both. Now he said, not a great preseason, but out of all the individuals, he's looked good this preseason. He's looked sharp. Mason Mount this year. Now it's probably the same discussion we'll have in 12 months ago, but now just in the current circumstance with almost playing no striker, two upfront kind of being with no sort of fit number nine. What do you see Mason Mount the next couple of weeks in regards to it? Has his preseason formed sort of SDs way into every 10 halves plans or now the season has started? Will we sort of revert to type and asking yourself the question where does Mason Mount fit in? - Yeah, I think I'm going to do it with a second of that. And again, I do agree with him. I've said it myself. Mason Mount's been one of the standouts on preseason. Obviously, I think it's obviously helped him have been no Bruno there, which they've very played it in a similar position. I don't know where I like Mason Mount. I'm going to say it. I think it's a good play. And I think in some system it would work, but I just don't see them playing on the pitch at the same time. I don't see him, if we were to pick the team tomorrow for Fulham, I don't put him in my side in 11 again, because I don't know where he goes. And I also think he's just a player as well. He's trying hard. He's very energetic, but he's just one of those players like, I was like, "What a goal can I get in the sea?" It's just like, you know, like just to get that monkey off his back. I feel like... - They tap him way away. And they put it across. Well, you think that's not a critical. I mean, that's a number nine in that position. Just get that instinct to read it. And Mason Mount is just a little bit flat-footed. - Yeah. So look, if I do agree with the second part, it's the exact same thing as last year. I like the player. It sounds good on paper. He's a proven player, but he just doesn't fit in the team for me. And like I said, and then we go to, "Oh, we need good quality squad players," which we do, but 90% of the time, Bruno's going to be on the pitch for 90 minutes. You know what I mean? So like to do a like for like swap, I don't really like Mason Mount as a wide player. And before the depth we've got, not the best quality depth, but we've got a lot of depth in our fingers or in our front line at the moment. So I don't like him as well. They're in the two eight system. Like I said, I think that's especially if Coby is going to be as a six. I think that's why I'm a lot of responsibility on him. And again, I really do think Casamero is going to be an important part of this of this team this year. So I hope he stays fit. And hopefully we get the first year Casamero because I don't see him down anyway. And I don't see him sitting on the bench as well. So hopefully a pivot of him and Casamero and Mainly can kind of sit, you know, interlock. And yeah, when they're two in the pivot and Bruno is in the 10, I just don't see a place for Mount in the side of the 11. - Yeah, no, look, I tend to agree. It'll be very interesting. Not only this season, but this week in regards to, we do want to pick our strongest team to win the football match in important three points, but also it is still so early in the season. And I don't even manage to treat it as pre-season. But in regards to you talking to the physios and doctors, there is still a very pre-season feel to this game on who's going to be ready, who's going to be fit to play competitive game. But I just want to throw, sort of, we'll go higher up the pitch. And a question from the podcast Discord page. Nick throws in sort of one of the channels we have in there is around the podcast where people can get involved. And there's a question by Nick, you now want to throw to you, Rob, in regards to what do you think of Ahmed versus Ganatra as a starter? Is that a debate or am I the only one who thinks it's a tough question now? Look, I don't think it's a debate at the moment. I think both start, but the tough question, let's, we'll get into the whole trio at the moment, but let's hypothetically mark a strategy starting on the left. Is that a tough question on the right? I'm not all Ganatra if you had to pick the two, or is there a straight answer? - For me, yes, it's a very hard question. And I honestly, I'll be surprised which one gets the nod next week. Again, I think with Ahmed, I think, you know, most people would say he deserves a start because of the pre-season. He's been with the pre-season and he's been, again, one of the stars of the pre-season. And he had a couple of important glimpses at the back end of last season. Head to head with Ganatra for me. You know, when he's in, if he was on pre-season this season, or this previous, you know, the pre-season would just been, and there was a bit of a head-to-head clash. I do think it would be a bit more of a 50/50, but he's come in and he made an impact. You know, he'd come off the bench and he was really, really good with his cameo men, like up and down, helping out defensively, that, you know, he could've had one or two assists. He scored the important goal that I thought was gonna be the winner in the end. He didn't do anything wrong, in my opinion. And I think he's got that little bit of senior priority to compare to what I'm at, who, like, I think, you know, for me, I'd like to say I'm out off the bench in front of an Anthony or something like that. But yeah, he's got a case for because of his pre-season and maybe a little bit more on the tank to start. And a lot of people were in our discussion today, you know, a good track. So the people like him off the bench as an explosive impact player. So, for me, I think it's very hard. I think it's gonna be a bit, a flip of a corner could come down to how well they trained this weekend, or, you know, if Eric has a favorite between them. But for me, I'd start gonna, I don't, I like him on the right. - Well, I'm gonna throw Marcus Rush at you. What happens against full in regards to, not to be critical of his pre-season, not to be critical of his performance against Manchester City, but not quite at it. Luke didn't have a disastrous game, but had one or two chances, didn't quite take them. That first one in terms of where he whips it past the post was one of those, I think if he's in form, he sort of buries that or at least gets it on target. The second one where he hits the post. Look, it's a bad missus. Someone on that and had a money, should be hitting a target and doing better. It's one of those ones, when it's bouncing across onto your weaker foot. It's a tricky one, especially when the goal game is showed. No, he should do better. Now, what I would do, and I'm not a professional footballer, I would sort of speed up a little bit and hit that with my right foot. You'd be able to get your body over it when you're leaning back, when the ball goes across your body. It's always a hard technique to sort of get a good connection with, but Marcus Rushford on the left. The lazy fan in both of us will say, yes, he does start against full. I'm going to get at you, though. A goal for Ganesh on good performances by Ahmed. There is a very strong case, and if I was the manager, I'll be playing both. I'll be having Marcus Rushford on the bench now. Reality is very different. We do know it is very hard to drop Marcus Rushford. What do you do if you're at in Harg? I think he starts the lazy fan coming in. I think he starts, and I think, honestly, I think it's a confident thing. I think if he was to drop Rushford after today. And he had a... You look sharpish over there. I think he looks very strong. I think he looks... Yeah. He just... He didn't need to go like anyone. Yeah, today he could have had two goals, and he could have been in a hat trick in the fall, and everyone would have been like, "Yeah, he's going to have a great..." I think he just needs that one or two goals. Once it goes into... Again, like I happened to that, he even hit the 30 goals. He had a slow starter at season. I wasn't to hear that wake up game when he scored the first goal, and it just banked purple perch kind of thing. So, for me, I think he'll hurt him more. Confidence-wise, he feels to be dropped and come off the bench in that game, considering that, like you said, he's had a full preseason and stuff like that. If you were to go off today and form, I'm out off the left, and I'm going to drop off the right. I'm sorry, the other way around. I'm out off the right and I'm going to drop off the left, and rush it off the bench. Because he just straight out for form. So, yeah, I can't see it happening, but... Yeah, and I look like I do think Marcus Rashford is going to start. Maybe we'll discuss that later in the week when we sort of look ahead to the season and more detail towards the full-of-match pit-term. Yeah, any possibility of the front free? Just a quick quick question. Rashford down the middle for full-of, and then the other two on the win. Yeah, if I was a manager in the Ericki and Harg's situation and I was under pressure to include Marcus Rashford, in terms of his contract and the higher ups will say, "No, Rashford's got to play." That would be the option for me, how I would be playing Rashford through the middle, and so I could get Gunacho and I made both in the team. So, I do think we both need those. I don't want to see a false nine against Fulham. I'm just saying that now. I'd be up to see if we're playing Bruno's false nine against Fulham. I think that was the issue against... And look, even if we played with a great striker against Manchester City, they're still a better team than us. We still might struggle, but I do think, well, we were playing very good football at times. I thought, especially maybe one of the reasons were a little bit, not lazy, but lethargic in playing out from the back. I know that it was 50 metres away from the front man, but we didn't have a striker. In that old fashion, you need a focal point. It just felt like we weren't really playing through anything. We were playing whoever was free, rather than having someone to play towards. And I do think that is obviously the benefit. Having a striker does have. So, Xerxes, I was expecting it to come on. He didn't come on. I'm not sure I'm very... I think Alexander did speak about it, but I have not heard it. I'm sure it's just one of those. Maybe not be quite ready, but hopefully he can play some part against Fulham, and we can get some type of look at what he's going to bring. On Xerxes, just in regards to that, hasn't played, looks fit. He's in and around training. Debut at Old Trafford, sometimes could be sort of memorable on sort of iconic moments. Is there a case where, OK, we're not expecting him to play, just in regards to we haven't seen him. But Old Trafford, Debuts, sometimes people just get thrown in. Remember, look, they're answering against Arsenal. He just got thrown in. He wasn't playing, sort of. Ronaldo just got thrown in against Newcastle. Play just gets thrown in just because, first game of the season, the adrenaline's pumping, everything sort of fire. Sometimes it just works, or will there be a little bit more cautious? OK, again, I think you'll be cautious. I'd love to see if he could, if I'm 11 o'clock comes next week, oh, sorry, four o'clock in morning comes next week, and it's Xerxes up front, I'll be wrapped. I'm one of those players. I'm impatient. We buy new players to strengthen the squad and to take a step forward. I'm happy to throw him in. I'm not opening day. And say, go have, even if it's 45 minutes, 60 minutes, go in there, run a mark, you know? Let's see what you got. They're going to have another week of training together as a team. At seven days, they're professional. He was in the Euros. He's going to be, for me, he's probably got to be at least 60 minutes fit. That's exactly what he said. Throw him in there and see what happens. And I think what's the worst that kind of... I really thought he was going to get something today, some kind of minutes, just to kind of get a feel of the team, you know, again, in a bracket final, and especially when one go up, you know, I was really surprised, just quickly on one of the changes when he'd done the same track for Rush. But I really thought he could have come on and changed the game. We'll kept the like one new, anyway. We mentioned new signings, and obviously before any kick off, but last night it comes 11 o'clock, Sydney time, and he's sort of refreshing Twitter to see the team news. Then we weren't refreshing to see the team news yesterday. It was refreshing David Ornstein and for Rituromono's timeline to get all the latest transfer business. And it was three bits of transfer business, while not confirmed by the club. And I think when these two reporters come out and sort of nail it down, we're pretty much guaranteed these three business, bits of business are going to happen. We'll start with the out-going in, Aaron Wiesharka. Look, go back over the last 10 years and sort of rattle off the good signings for Manchester United. It won't take you too long, especially when you consider the business side of things in regards to where they're worth the money, et cetera. I don't want to discuss Aaron Wiesharka's 50 million price tag, because he could easily make a case or didn't live up to the price tag. However, just in regards to what we saw in the picture of Aaron Wiesharka, and what I would also bring into an discussion off the pitch, never any dramas with Wiesharka, not playing sort of thing. Overall, while I do think probably I've been very happy to keep him. That's not going to be the case, but I'm not losing any sleep with him moving on. I think he's been very good for United. Very good for United. And it's a hard one, because not often that happens. So while we get in place, we're in a place that would have been very good when players have been so good at sticking around. So, just your thoughts on the Aaron Wiesharka decision, both his time Manchester United, evaluate that for me, but also the business to let him go. I'm a big Aaron Wiesharka fan. I am sad the same go, and I do wish him more the best. He's one of those players, as he said. He hasn't been a travel maker. In and out of the team, it sounds like he's always... Last season, we thought he was a forgotten man, and he was going to be sold. And then next minute, he started and had a decent season. Really like him, like I said, just as a person, it looks like just a quiet individual that does his job. Again, he's always copped a bit. You know, he's attacking Proverse hasn't been the best, but I'm an old-school person. I fall back or a defender that needs to be at first, a defender, and be good at defensive work for me. And I thought he was one of the best, especially in a one-on-one situation. In hindsight, I would have actually loved him to play last night, considering what happened right back towards the end of the game. But, yeah, look, I honestly think if it's a good move for him and he's happy to go to West End, I think they're maybe building a nice little squad there themselves. And obviously, we need incoming to go and bring in new players. I'm not going to be an expert. I don't know what's his name again that's coming in for him. Well, that's what we're going to go into in regards to Maz Raoi now. And I'm just looking at what he's doing. He's got this in euros. I'm not sure what the conversion rate is. He's saying 15 million plus five for Maz Raoi. So 15 million euros. And I'm just thinking it's the age of debate. We wouldn't have been discussing our one Bessarco versus Diego Delo. And attacking full-back, first defensive, full-backer. And I'm very much like you in regards to I need my defender to defend first, but in regards to the way modern footballers go. And then every ten hards, you're on football. He wants some a little bit more comfortable on the ball. Now, I'm with you. I don't have any knowledge of Maz Raoi. Even though what's won me again full of times, he's not a player who noticed being on the pitch. He did just one of those players. And I assume he's at the World Cup with Morocco. I don't remember him from there, but I assume he was there. And then maybe doesn't take us to Keeney. He was playing. I'm not sure. Well, that's what I mean. Keeney, I know he came here, and then he's a bright back. So yeah, I don't know. I haven't watched him. I haven't even done the YouTube scouting of him yet. So yeah, we'll just wait and see. I'm trusting in Eric. And just quickly time. Sorry, I didn't give my evaluation of Aaron, because I do think overall, since he came to United, I think he gets a solid seven and a half for me out of 10 for me. Yeah, definitely, especially considering around him and the challenge I'm interested in, faced. When he was there, never. So let him down. Sometimes when you see a play, including the 11, you're like, Oh, God, this is going to be a tough day. And while I'm stuck, you're putting away the Eddie Hader away. And Phil would say, I'm backing to do that. And obviously played well on. He's probably made a match in the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle. Yeah, yeah. Very good performance. So a huge role in that trophy, obviously played against Manchester City in the FA Cup final. A couple of months ago, so he leaves with two winners medals. And richly deserved. But we will move towards the future. And Maz Rao, as we mentioned, we're not going to sort of give a detailed analysis on him as a player, but just in regards to what we are here. And he can plan the left, can plan the right. I like the Agar Dolo. I think the Agar Dolo will be first choice right back, but there's a situation where we don't have a fit left back in the next couple of weeks. So he might be Maz Rao, he might go to the left door. He might go on the right, the Agar Dolo. I go to the left, who knows how it's going to unfold. But while you sit here and say, you're like down one with Sark, especially the defensive side of things. And I sit here as well, say, and look, I would have liked to have kept him, but I'm not going to lose any sleep. Is there a case whether this area, you're looking at error, turn hard, or you're looking at the football department? It is the right bit of business in regards to bringing this guy in for a relatively cheap amount of money when you consider that the other fees bandied about. And Aaron Wanda Sarkar wasn't offered any contract today, one year left on his contract. So if he goes into this final year, we lose him for free. Do you see this business without actually knowing much about the player? Do you say as not sure you'd say good business, but you're acceptable? I'll say, I think it's good business in the football in terms. Like I said, I'm one of those people when I'll take my heart out of it. It's a good business for the club. We need funds, we've got one. He was never going to be offered another contract from what it looked like. And obviously he didn't. We need funds to bring in other players that obviously shoot Eric's system. Money in, bang. So it's literally been well noted this week that we're waiting for his money to come in to go and spend it on the next class. And I'm fine with that. To let a player go and then bring one show back in, it's a go for me. It's a positive business move. So I'm all for it in that aspect. As a player, I really think, like I said, I think it was really good to have him as a really good squad player to have. But yeah, that's it. That's football and it's a good business for me. It's a simple question and answer to your question. No, definitely. Now, look, that's I think about as deep as we're going to go on the fall back on until we get a little bit more information and sort of I'll do my YouTube scouting as well. And obviously, hopefully we see him in his form and we can be discussing how good he is. But I think the main discussion to have around this transfer is the arrival at the same time as Mateus Delete. And the same David Ornstein tweet as 45 million euros plus five. So I'm not sure what that works out into pound. But a little bit under 50 million pound now. I really want to pick your brain on this because I've seen a handful of times do I just remember him looking back now. God, it was pre-COVID in regards to Ajax. Though the world has changed a long time since Eric Tanharg and Dalit and Donnie Vanderbake and all those players sort of tore up in the burn about, etc. But he has gone on to Juventus and Bayern Munich and hasn't quite hit the ground running there. And he's now going to find himself at all traffic. But the reason I'll pick your brain for the listeners at home in regards to you, obviously watch Juventus very closely as well. And he's time at Juventus. He came off the big move from Ajax. Big money transfer, a lot of hype, a lot of expectation. Soon found himself playing for another club at Bayern Munich, which means it didn't quite go to planet Juventus. So every time I saw him at Ajax and even at Bayern Munich, I've never done anything. I've been saw in play at Juventus. But the times I have seen him play, especially at Ajax and Bayern Munich, forget his quality. If someone thinks he's going to make it at Manchester, it'll be good enough. I just like the play. It's a big physical, my type of centre back here. It's comfortable on the ball. It looks like a leader in terms of everything you hear. I like the look of you. He looks like a Manchester United play. Now a lot of players look the part and unable to deliver. He's going to have to step up and convince us all of why he's deserving of his spot at Manchester United. But just your opinions on delight in regards to especially the Juventus fan, when you did see him arrive, how that time went. Yeah, I can definitely go deep on this. We're the first artists after the Ajax run. As a United fan, I was screaming for United to scream and go get him, go get him, go get him. This is what we need. Someone young, like I said, the builder, everything, the hype. You know, he was the next big centre back for the next 10 years. And so yeah, so obviously United went in for him. Yeah, obviously I'm Italian and Italian heritage and my famous support, Juventus. So I watched them religiously as well. And so when he went to the next best thing at Juventus, I was also just as wrapped in to watch him weekly. I was very excited, especially for a young person 19 at the time, I think it was, to be learning his trade next to Leonardo Benucci and Keelini. I thought this is sad. When the big boys get older and go, he's going to be there and be a Juventus legend for the next 10-15 years kind of thing. And look, he was in another team and he had, obviously, again, Juventus then was on, you know, eight, nine years straight of winning the league. So he's gone to the best team. You know, Ronaldo was, I think, the year or the year or the year before, just came there as well, coincidentally. And they won the league that year. He played well. But again, when you're looking at what he was, he wasn't a starting 11 player every single week, he didn't, he wasn't doing that little bit extra that you thought would be. But at the time he was learning his trade, I'm like, fine, he's going to be there. But then, you know, he started the performances in and out of the team, but not just him, it was a team team. Juventus had a bit of a, they finally had that couple of years, which was different to them, like the same thing with United. We had domination for years and years. And then in the last decade, we've kind of seen this borrow. And that's kind of been a little bit with the rebuild with Juventus at the same time as well. And he didn't like that. They fell out of Champions League. He won the Champions League football. So it's a combination of performances. They're not being happy at the club. That obviously got the move to Bayern. But then, you know, again, he's kind of hopped in from Juventus, top team in Italy to Bayern Munich, top team in Germany. Again, they've won about 12 in a row. And he's done, he's got all the medals to prove it. But he hasn't really nailed down another starting spot there. So I just, I find it hard to believe there's no coincidence that when you're back into his on international, he's also lost his spot. You know, he was at that time when he was peaking. He was being number one next to Bayern Dijk in the Dutch team as well. Now, I don't even know if he even got an appearance in the Euros this year. He's fallen that much down a pecking order. So if you go back three weeks ago, when, when I will link to Mike, I was the one I was actually saying, honestly, won't bother me if we don't get him. It's a coincidence. I think Skoll said something the other day about similar to what I'm thinking. When we got linear, I was like, I don't even know this kid, but I'm happy. I'm happy to just, you know, take a pun on him and see how he goes. Obviously, he's going to be out for a third of the year. Bang, I'll straight back on the delete train after that. I'm, I don't know who else is next. And when we will link to him, my, it's more hopes and trust. I'm hoping that he's that relationship, Brie Kindles with Eric. And he obviously has a lot of trust in him. Obviously with a lot of Dutch players, he's got to build exactly what you said. He's really comfortable in the ball. He's, I really like him early. So I'm just hoping that we kind of see a version of him from early on these last few years where he's been in and out of teams or inconsistency and informed. I just, I'm just hoping, next little Sandra Martinez as well, I really hope that we get a nice joy there. So I'm happy last night. I know I'm one of those people that panic if I want him playing against Fulham kind of thing. So I want him there. I want to say, I don't care if he's having a weak train. Apparently the medical book for Monday, which is Tuesday, Outtime, have three days training from straight in. That's what I want to see straight away. And it's got nothing to do with your Harry Maguire and Evans. I just want to see new players. I want to see the new toys and I want to see him kind of interlocked straight away. And I want to say, okay, this is, he's a comfortable player on the ball. That's for Eric once. Let's, let's move forward. And, you know, if we make mistakes, let's learn from it and continue forward. I'd rather say let's take the chance on players on new players. That's what I mean. I'd be happy to say Xerxes. And again, I can't, I don't know what's going to happen there, but I'm barely managing, but I'd love to see him on Fulham, on Saturday morning. I want to throw this question to you just before you wrap up in regards to evaluating, delete as a player, evaluating his time at Juventus, at Bayern Munich, into this move at Manchester United. Would you, would you yourself, but also football as well in general, have a different view if you didn't have the hype around Ajax? If he was just a young sort of player coming into Juventus and Bayern Munich, would you evaluate his time at those clubs differently if you take away the hype? Because he was, as you mentioned, in regards to the, he was the defender. He was the next big thing. If he wasn't that next big thing, just in regards to the quality and the performance he has produced since then, would we be having a different view? Because at the moment, the view we're having is someone who never really kicked on with their career, even though it's still very young in his career. That's almost the view he's not going to reach the heights. If we're just looking at actual performances, I look at Paul Pogba. Paul Pogba's time at Manchester United regards the expectation. He fell horrendously short. If you did look at his performances, that's actually relatively good performances for Manchester United, but not to the standard in which we wanted. And I think football, at the moment, wants to lead to be Virgil van Dyck, to be this player where maybe he's not. So I'm just thinking, what role do you think that hype from Ajax has sort of held his career back a little bit? Not held his career back a little bit, but sort of clouded his career. Yeah, look, that's a hard one. I understand what you're saying. You could nearly say that for the majority of that whole Ajax 2019 team. They've got all this. Some of them made big moves. A lot of them made big moves, and you could say a lot of them didn't make the next step after that. Look, you're exactly right. Technically, he's great on the ball. He's got all the tools in the box. And that's why I'm hoping that he can kind of rekindle his young. That's the biggest thing I'm happy with. What is it, 24, 25 minutes per week? He's 25 years old. So, you know, if I'm making a big move, if he can just get back to his form and, you know, maybe relax and just play his game, I hope, and I'd love it. And I think he will become a good player. I mean, just ignore it again and move us forward and playing out from the back, being comfortable in the ball and making a nice partnership with, with like Sanjay Martinez, for instance, and end up working. And even Anana at the back, you know, they've got that Ajax connection, all of them. So yeah, look, I am very happy. I hope that answered your question. I am happy with the transfer. I think it was a bit of a panic one. And you know, I was happy for us to payovers. I don't care, because we need players that are going to improve the squad. And I think you will, and I'm hoping he will improve our squad. Well, like any sign-in, mozzarella, he, um, decides to let Xerxes, whoever, they're going to have to hit the ground and run him, especially with that Ajax connection and a price tag. Her Mary Sam Habs man, um, metastar, he's going to have to perform well. And if that's the end's form, fingers crossed, it does come. I'm just thinking, um, number four, I'm about left of number four, shirt, so I'm thinking to little take number four, I'm still, I'm still filthy. Look, nothing against Victor Lindelof. He should be wearing the number two. So I'm thinking, if you think the Lindelof lead leads this week, major hour, you can take the number two, because that's a fullbacks number. The time, but a set of action would be wearing number two. But I think the little take the number four shirt. Now, unfortunately, our call to cut out dramatically right at the end there, but it was only one of them, only missed 30 seconds or a minute or so. But my big thanks goes at Rob for joining us. Always enjoy chatting to Rob and, um, yeah, plenty of disgust. Um, the football in regards to performance. I think there's questions and concerns, but there's also room for a little bit of optimism as well after that performance against Manchester City. And it all comes down. I don't think any of us care about performance, um, against four. It is all about the three points. I don't care if we put in the worst performance under Aaron Tanah, if we win one nil, um, I've heard a deflected goal in the 93rd minute. I'm going to be celebrating it like it's title number 21. So, um, a lot to come this season in regards to one, the podcast, obviously, which I'll touch on, but obviously men just united. They mean to bounce back and we'll be saying that for far too long. But here we are again. We need to bounce back. We need to get back on the right path and fingers crossed under any officer gym, whoever you want to describe it as, um, do have the keys. And, um, I do feel we are on the right track. We need to stay on it though. It'll be very interesting times ahead now. Before this week's trivia, just to remind that we have set up on the podcast or for the podcast, a Discord page, just download Discord or you can do it on your, um, desktop browser, wherever, but it's a very simple app you can do. And it's just a bit of a, bit of a group, bit of a group chat. So then we've got different channels in there where you can discuss it. Anytime just go put your feelings in or thoughts in and someone will be having a chat with you. There's about 20 or so wind there at the moment, which is great to see. And, um, there's a podcast channel in there as you heard the question earlier by Nick. Um, you can throw any questions topics in there and we'll read them out on the podcast. But we've also got a match day thread. So you can chat to people throughout the match transfer thread, um, a bit on history as well. People put it in little bits of history due to just a little bit of, not, it's not always positive. Obviously got a negative chapter, a little bit of positivity around Manchester. And some discussions, which you won't often get, especially in and around that history stuff, but joining in with the podcast as well. And I'm never sure what if Manchester United chat just throw your feelings in there. I'm sure someone will be having a debate with you in no time, but to wrap up this week's episode, a little bit of trivia as I asked at the start of the episode. Who was David May's centre back partner in the 99 FA Cup final against Newcastle? A lot of people would say you upstand, but you would be incorrect. And I rejoined my memory last night watching Manchester United's representative on the field before the game, Ronnie Jonson. Ronnie Jonson did partner David May in that FA Cup final. He was obviously up to him, um, was rested. Um, we were, we had the luxury of the time in regards to always been playing big games and have a big squad. And, um, yeah, the upstand was rested for the game. Quite important game in a couple of days time in the new camp against Barcelona. So, um, if only we'd have that problem now where we're resting Bruno Fernandez, or we're resting a play like that ahead of another big game. I remember actually in the 2008, 2009 lead cup final. I remember Wayne Rooney and I think Edward Vandeser, they were in suits. They didn't even make the bench. They were just rested for, I think, an upcoming Champions League title. So, um, fair play to you if you got that one, David May and Ronnie Jonson. But, um, you have to stay tuned. Um, hopefully we'll do bring you a season preview later on in the week before the full match. Just in reality, we'll discuss full and great, great detail. But obviously look ahead to the broader season and, um, what does entail both the Manchester United, but we might have a look around the grounds as well because everyone, not including Chelsea, um, are doing their transfer business. I don't know what Chelsea are doing. They're playing a different game, but we'll touch on that. All things around the ground and obviously, most importantly, Manchester United. So, um, do enjoy, I do appreciate everyone joining us. And, um, hopefully we enjoy that podcast and, um, we'll chat to you in a few days. Cheers. [Music]
