(upbeat music) (upbeat music) - Hey, what is going on, fam, bam? It's your girl, Just Be Real. And welcome back for another dope episode of "Just Be Real" podcast, another Sunday, and then another August, here we are. It's kinda crazy 'cause my birthday's in like a couple of weeks. I'm gonna give y'all that episode 'cause y'all know I always give you a recap of my birthday, like, every time. But I'm just sitting here thinking like damn, my girl, you're going through your almost, more than halfway through a season 11. And is it time to move on to something different or is it time to give this the real true hiatus and needs for you to kind of focus on what you need to focus on? And this is a really tough decision 'cause I'm in a position and now I wanna do playback. So I'm like, playbacks ain't the same as the real thing. So it's just like, would y'all mind if I just did an episode, a month, or like, how would y'all feel? 'Cause this is the second world we're seeing my heart and my mind, but I just thought I should be real but choose since it's called Just Be Real Podcast. Let's you know where I'm at. So today's episode is called The Club Shay Shay Effect. Yes, The Club Shay Shay Effect. I don't know how many y'all know or how many y'all tapped into YouTube where you watch Mr. Shannon Sharp talk and have special guests on his show Club Shay Shay and child, I got words for this whole show all together. Like, I'm never trying to down a black man, but it's just like, at some point you gotta speak what the fuck it really is and it's coolery. It's nothing but pure fucking coolery. And I say that with every ounce of my being, in no shame, maybe a little shame, possibly, that I just feel like The Club Shay Shay Effect can go one or two ways. It can have a good impact on your career as somebody who's a public figure, or it can cause somewhat of a climb and a microscope on your life more than you have before and can really fuck your head up. Fuck your head up big time. So I wanted to talk about it because Club Shay Shay was something I was never into until I seen the previews from Monique. And baby, we know how Monique, my sweet baby, okay? My sweet sister was on that shit, giving all the tea, all the real, all the raw, no questions asked, no hesitations, and it was the most anticipated episode which brought him all these fucking ratings, right? Ever since then. It was like Monique. And I think, no, I think before her, it was fucking Cat Williams, my fellow Virgo Bridgerin. Literally, we're like skyrocketing. As I heard the most, where the mouth, we always know with marketing, where the mouth is gonna forever be. The number one source of promotion for anything. So Club Shay Shay Effect had those two and then on the other side, it had Amanda Seals and Gary Owens and Kelmetro and make the stallion, making good. And these are just a couple of people, but these are more of the recent ones. He had Bridgerin on there too. Like, there were some people that was on there, Cam Newton, like there are people that were on there, but they're not people who were like, "Okay, they're gonna really talk some shit." Or like, "We've been following a career long enough for me "to give a fucking just tap in." Like, making good is a staple within herself into the media culture, especially in film, on TV. And then you have like, make the stallion. She's been publicly scrutinized. You know what that whole shot-of-clock thing situation and that was something that needed to tap into. So I just feel like it just all depending on who his guesswork and what I personally feel was a subjective opinion he wanted to go ahead and be stoked. So, we started from my favorite, none other than Amanda Sills, right? So, I feel like when he had Amanda Sills on here, it was more so of a close-minded perspective. Now, given, I've had my podcast for four years, yes, but am I specializing in journalism or, no, I'm not. So I really can't give much critique of criticism. But I've here evaluated myself, like, let's be fucking for real. But I will say that watching that interview, because Amanda is such a neurodivergent intellectual, like she's very much ahead of her time, I feel like the truth-telling became something that was supposed to be unconventional, but Dean does okay as unconventional on his show when he claims it's a safe space. And I say that only because Amanda came on not too long after Cat Williams on their spilling the truths of all truths about niggas in the industry. And when you got another true tale like Amanda Sills up there, it was a lot of darts and gaslighting going on there, right? So, for me, it was more of an interrogation, but an interrogation is entertaining rather than having a full dialect or a dialogue, right? So, it's what we, as Americans, start off of a scene conflict, and it being even more rewarding when it's conflict that has nothing to do with us, right? So, I feel like the interrogation aspect when he questioned her being diagnosed with autism at 40 and how she wasn't criticized or, you know, had some type of racism affect her in her childhood. It just made me feel like this is shit that is clickbait in my mind. And it's like you don't allow open perspectives on those that you criticize the most. And I think that's key here with him. I feel like it's a forever trending pattern in a lot of the quote, unquote interviews I've seen. It's like he's closed-minded, jock with a minimal effect and not true open-mindedness. One person I would love to see go on The Shannon Sharp Show and see how it runs out and what this perspective is is I want Nissi Nash to go. And I say this only because Nissi Nash has now crossed over into a community with being married to her wife, her husband, Jessica, but that has allowed her to see a different perspective of life and live a different walk of life that many couldn't attest to or speak on. And I feel like it's pretty much real live and ignorant conversation that's constantly held in most situations from those of the hetero species. And I would love to see how he is able to conduct himself and maneuver with that because baby, when I say Nissi and Jessica plays no games, they play no games. And I just think it was also crazy how when you had Gary on, I think he had Gary on there a week after Monday sales, it's just a jackass move because Shannon's a corner and I'm animated clear because I remember I went to an Amanda comedy show not too long after that was released and she was like, she seen him in the airport and they got nothing to say. Of course he don't 'cause he's a fucking coon head. Like he can't say shit 'cause it's saying shit to you would literally have to mean he would have to have an intelligent conversation or a conversation of intellect that in his capacity outside the camera's rolling, he can't have or it won't be excusable to be a coon in public without being able to just look stupid as fuck. So I feel like I'm not surprised when she shared that information 'cause just like it all really fucking makes sense. It makes sense, it makes sense. And I feel like in that aspect, it can be seen as a negative light because well, I guess negative for him, but positive for Amanda because in that perspective, people's in America and Amanda in a different light, America, look at me, Amanda in a different light and they were able to respect her, I think a little bit more than with the brash comments and stereotypical narratives would be placed on her. And a lot of people to really step outside themselves to look deeper, just having this conversation because when the people 'cause I would Amanda Seals and everybody's not very much her biggest fan against Shannon Sharp, that just shows how you're not on her caliber and you're not a person of true adversity. We'll put it in that perspective. So I think it was crazy too because the way he was very much domineering to make the stallion was kissing me off. Like his tone, his whole joking nature to make it seem like, "Oh yes, the joke, "but then we haven't used the truth." Like he was trying to belittle her on camera and I did not like that shit. Like, "Oh, you just give our money in, "people think you're rich." "Oh did it or not?" "Yeah, but you know, that's showing you." And like, "Don't do that." You're not her people, you don't know her like that, do the interview, but you know, like you knew all personal information that was irrelevant to the interview, but knew all the information that was teed. And for Amanda's questionable because it's just like it's bitch tendencies, bro. Robitch tendencies. And I don't ever understand like, "Why do men do that?" Like, "Why do some of y'all men do that?" Why some of y'all men so say SC? Y'all real world world, SCSC. And it's not cute. It's not because it's giving bitch me. And that's not cute for you, I don't want that for you. I think it was crazy too, also when Shannon Sharp, before he even started one interview with Meg, he was like apologizing. And I just think just because you're apologized and public after humiliating and public doesn't get you a pass, like, Meg was being gracious. I give that. My good stallion, my good little hottie was giving him the fucking grace that he didn't fucking deserve, but it's like non-negative. You can apologize in public too, but I'm still not fucking with you. And still keeping cute while I'm here on this fucking interview. Honestly, truly, 'cause I'm really here to tell the truth. And I hate how oblivion acts like he, when he sees the news, like, when he knows shit, there's public news and public knowledge, he's so fucking, oh my god, I'm like, cut the theatrics. Like, bitch, you can't know, stop it. It's not cute, just cut it out. And then like, I feel like that might've been a, I wanna say that might've been an in-between type vibe when it came to Meg and her interview with him because, and I only said that because you still have your people who are still against her for that whole shooting shit. And I get, that's the whole premise of why she created the album. She dropped Megan to kind of give niggas and inside on who the fuck she really is. But it's just like, it's kind of a stalemate when it comes to her. There's not niggas, it's not like you got your hotties, but then you got the niggas who don't fuck with the hotties. And it's obvious when it comes to top time for bringing up Meg's name and conversation. I've noticed that, which I feel like it has been more prevalent now after her going on club shay-shay. Because a lot of it, I think for some people felt like it was fluff and bullshit. And for some of you just like, Meg, talk your shit. Like be honest, like be you. And it's just like, it's a 50, 50 catch 22 type shit with that one. I feel like he was able to waver that in his favor because he knew he would have a biased audience on that episode. And then the sit here and ask me questions you should have done research on is like piss-port journalism, my guy. Like, and this is what I mean. Like you've been reporting football, reporting sports, doing all this other shit. And the information you need to know you don't know, the information that really makes the interview to interview you're telling me you don't fucking know. Like that shit makes no sense to me whatsoever. But you're more concerned about her lyrics about when she was talking about some nigga cheating on her. Like I don't, I don't get it. I don't understand like this nigga is so tacky. Like you would have thought he played in the NFL asking Meg how much she paid for her chain and her ring. Like to ask her how much she paid for that shit and you played it on her nigga, that's not even work. First of all, asking somebody that shit and trying to count their pockets is just like asking a woman her age. You just don't do it. And let's just share voluntarily, like mind your fucking what they eat don't make you shit who they fucking don't make you come, baby. Don't worry about it. Don't worry about it. 'Cause I think that was the most tacky shit ever. Like, and then she chooses for money on that and still able to invest her money and make money on her money. All the fuck you in her pocket is niggas not asking how much you paying for club change shadow, investing in club change. Niggas wasn't asking how much you made when he was working on as a sports caster. But you feel so hard to sit here and be asking me how much you paid for a chain. And then she said million talking about someone that's crazy. Man, get the fuck out of here. Niggas been more for less, bro. Like fuck out of here. And that's something that I hate because I fell in the way he raised it in there. Like while I said in club change, like 'cause I could pay the picture like she's some. Make it seem like she was some shallow ass chick. Like she don't know how to monitor her money. And it's just like, I hate, I hate when Niggas try to get that one up and make it like somewhat familiar and embarrassing female. Like to me, it's like how you asking what she paid for, but can't research basic music information that's public knowledge. That should make no sense. Like how much is in your bank account, Shannon Sharp? How much did you pay to be on the gas ladder on YouTube? Like that's the real questions that any answers on Henry Street. Those are questions I'd be wanting to know. It's just like, what the fuck make it make sense? And I think also because Mick was like the reason why she spent so much money on herself because she's standing at home. And I feel like it's a fact. Like as women, we set the tone on how we want to be treated. And if I say I like to spoil myself, especially her being our only child, mother fuck, I like to spoil myself. And understanding her as a fellow only child, if I spend money on me, mother fucker, you're spending money on me too. Like I don't get it. Or like I'm not gonna sure change myself. So why would I sure change you? Like don't sure change me if I ain't even gonna sure change myself. Like stop playing with me when I don't play with me. And I don't play about me. Like and I'm not mad at her 'cause what's wrong with her studying the tone and how she was expected to be treated by a man. And she's being an example. And that's the best form to show how you want to be treated in a relationship. It's given the instructions to show us somebody. Like this is how I want to be treated, period. But it's like he's so fucking surfs and tries to be deep. And Mick was a good square for letting him rock where I, when he asked her, what's the best gift someone ever gave her was the truth? Nigga, I was a birdie nowadays. Like that could be the best gift that I would say too is a nigga being real. Because niggas always, nah, nah, nah, I ain't real, I ain't real, I ain't real, I'm the truth, I ain't this, I ain't that. I'm a third, but nothing. When it comes time to really show that shit and stay on all those, it's in our business. It's not the same energy. Not the same energy whatsoever. And it makes no sense to me. Like I don't get it. Like it makes no sense to downplay her when it comes to her money management and how she respects the fees of other artists and the fees she requires. Like she wants to pay motherfuckers they worth and how you matter her 'cause she wanna pay niggas a nigga so that they charge 50 a verse. And she willing to pay to 50, let her pay to 50. 'Cause she understands that niggas got teams like she got a team. And some shit is required to pay because your feed up people's pockets are sold your own. And it's like with sharing the sharps, dumbasses, like asking the same questions and expecting different answers. Like asking her again who our favorite rapper is and that niggas on her album. She made it clear that everybody who knows that information knows because she's from Houston. Like it's just, it's just dumb shit like that. It's shit like that that just blow me. Everybody really blow me. And like when he asked her about kids, I think that had to be the funniest part of the fucking interview because when he asked her about kids, he was like telling her like, oh, she was telling him like, oh, she wanna have like five kids. And he was over here suggesting like she can't have five because it's 'cause of her career. It's like, that's sexist as hell 'cause she took. Cardi B did it. Cardi B had was pregnant and had a whole career and was busting it wide open on the stage. Like what are we talking about? Why is there always this pressure to have to subject women and pigeonhole them? I don't understand that. I don't think I ever will 'cause it makes no sense to me. Like the times we're in, things change. Situations, we're in a different timeline, different timeframe. And it's crazy to say a timeline timeframe because I just watched 'em by like Academy season four. And now every time I think of a timeline, I'm gonna think about them, but no spoiler alerts. It's just makes no sense to me. And it's just like, why can't women do both? Niggas could do both, but women can't. And then like, when he had making good on there, that was kind of a just a type interview too. It made me cringe a little bit because we're just like, undermining making good size to not be able to defend herself is lose her behavior. Like just because she's smarter telling me she can't fight. Like babe, what? Who told you that? Who made you think that I was even a logical belief to even have a thought on? Like I'm so confused. So confused. It just doesn't make sense to me. Like that was lose her behavior and it was sexist and fuck because it's just like, sir, you might play this word where size really fucking matters. And that's all because you're throwing your way to run on the field. But in real life, that should don't mean nothing 'cause you could be small as you didn't have hands and still like hands to go. And you could be big as fucking don't know what the fuck to do with it. Like baby, let's be for real. Then when she told, I think when I heard child, his stories, he's over here judging her and telling her how she has anger issues. Like you're one to diagnose the reading from the cords to the interview, it's not organic either. Like what anger issues would be you, sir? 'Cause you're so close to jumping on somebody's throat and be so opinionated. Getting still clean that you're willing to learn and have open ears to educate. Like it makes no sense. They're reiterating exactly what people say that they didn't toast her. Like they didn't share it with you. That shit that gets on my nerves. So you're telling me that when you were 11, you went to school da-da-da-da-da and you did da-da-da-da. Oh my God, like shut the fuck up. Like we heard them the first time they asked the question. They were there, they're telling you the story, my guy. They're telling you the story. And what are we doing? What are we doing? I'm sorry. This probably might be one of the shortest episodes because I can't sit here and lie and have the bandwidth to talk about this motherfucker from more than a time frame allotted. Like he's not, like I said, he's surface. He's not deep, so there's not much to really gain on. But when I say he's a jackass old jackasses, I fucking mean that wholeheartedly. Because this is what media is now subjecting themselves to the people who have no true character, no true understanding and really don't have much to fucking say. And right now, given that it's very important that a lot of these children are listening to voices like his and taking their inside introspectives and making that their moral compass is scary. So try to let these kids know, especially ones that are able and legal to vote, what it is and how much the voting might mean and how to break down the political parties at exactly what time of government, what time the government's in. If y'all haven't go watch on by the academy because I'm telling you that shit is like so necessary and have you mind benders all over the place. I'm telling you, it's necessary because it makes you have to stimulate and think above just now. But baby, when I say this is the stupidest fucking show ever, it just shows that the cool will always make the master laugh and then will always make the money off the last laugh. And sometimes, at most times, it's not us. As I always say on air, let's keep it real. Always remember be real, be true, and always be unapologetically you. And I will catch y'all the next one and keep this shit light as a rock.
