Welcome to August 10th on the National Day Calendar. Today we're embracing relaxation and indulging in a campfire classic. Did you know that taking time to do nothing can actually be good for you? On National Lazy Day, we celebrate the art of relaxation. The concept of OTM, or leisure, was highly valued by the ancient Romans, who believed that taking time to rest and reflect was essential for a balanced life. Modern studies agree, showing that downtime can actually produce creativity and productivity. So today, give yourself permission to relax, put your feet up, and enjoy the freedom of doing absolutely nothing. You know what my name means? What does it mean? Marlo. It means a lack of desire to expend effort. So I think that this is my perfect day. Does it really mean that? Or did you make that up? I made it up, of course. I feel like you made it up because I looked up, Marlo, and it actually said workhorse. Oh. It was actually the polar opposite of... Yeah, it depends on your source, I guess. After a day of relaxing, what could be better than a sweet treat? It's National Smores Day. This beloved campfire treat made of graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmallows has been delighting people for generations. The first official recipe for s'mores appeared in the 1927 Girl Scouts handbook under the name "some moors" likely because everyone wanted some more. Whether you're roasting marshmallows over a campfire or using your kitchen stove, s'mores are the perfect way to end a lazy day on a sweet note. So you're making a s'mores because I looked in your trunk and it looked like you had everything in there for some s'mores. Ready to go. And you know what? In a couple of years, 1927 to 2027, they're almost 100 years old already. Wow. Was that like... That's how old the ingredients are in my trunk, too, by the way. I was just about to say is that when you started making them, I'm with Roy Johnson. I'm Marlo Anderson. Thank you for joining us on our journey to celebrate every day. And join us for all of our adventures on Facebook and Instagram at Destination Celebration Show. Until next time, keep celebrating.
