[Music] Hello, and welcome to the Knights of the Night Actual Play Podcast. This world of darkness story, the cineator, was written and run by a storyteller Scott. And now, please enjoy episode 223. It's titled, Your Face Will Attest. Actual Play begins 16 minutes, 20 seconds. [Music] Now, we're going to start with an iTunes review, this is from Joshua acid. It was five star rating and title, one of the greatest actual play podcasts. It starts by great and wonderful podcasts, great role playing and wonderful personalities. There are so many fantastic things I can say about this podcast, but I'll just highlight a few of my favorite. First off, the great editing. I added that to sound effects and the music that really helps you set you in the mood. I usually listen while I'm doing my husband/fatherly chores around the house and this podcast helps me escape. Amazing people. I love the role playing and the out of character dialogue and how they interact with the fan base community. I joined the fan page and was instantly greeted by Tom, just incredible. A great balance between the storytelling and some small tidbits of gaming mechanics being discussed. And I mainly listen to the story, but it's nice to hear some of the metagame comments as well. The editing of the show keeps things as smooth and constant pace. And you can tell a lot of care goes into these episodes and I really appreciate it as a listener. Keep up the great work. You got to love the silver bell versus J role play. I hate each other. Yes, it's so much. Great feedback. Thank you, Joshua. Thanks. Fantastic. Over to the podcast page, kotnpodcast.com, E.N.D. posted and said, "Hello, Knights, let's just avoid the whole gender issue. Shock me up to the came to hear how the Dresden Files RPG worked and stayed for everything else and the thanks for the editing categories. I've been listening over the past few months and now I'm caught up. I don't want to rehash all the comments I've heard across the multiple episodes. So suffice it to say that you have now gotten me addicted to listening to actual play podcasts through the repetitive parts of my job. And I will start checking out some of the other groups you've mentioned and have links to on your website. As far as comments about the current role playing, I'm of two minds about the conversations between J and silver bell. On the one hand, they're great role playing, but on the other hand, silver bell can be a little stubborn about not hearing what J is actually saying or being inconsistent with their answers. And vice versa. Nope. Just pull it out. It's not what he said. No matter how many times J says, I understand you did not send us back, but you provided the person/being with the ability to send us back and probably start the process. She would alternate her answers between yes and no, depending on how excellent she was being at the given moment. Well, they noticed that. They did. Yes. You were. No, I wasn't. I completely understand her prior responses, trust issues, and why would these people believe me if I told them I was going to move us through time, but had nothing to do with sending us through time. But she was beginning to make some progress and should start opening up a bit more about her abilities, which I think you have. And about the, not with me, mind you. No, I hate you. And about the abilities. Tom, you have way too much fun teasing us with that fuzzy recording. A question to you, does her role playing make more sense with the knowledge that you've got from editing that bit? I think so, yeah. Tom, you know what you just, I'll explain in a bit. Final bit, and it is a question to the group. Have you ever thought about the fact that most of your questions/response is that you read won't be heard by the person who made them for weeks or even months? On the other hand, it might become a nice surprise when they get to it. On the other, it would be nice to get instant gratification. Seems like you do what you can with the face book replies and chats, just something that I've thought of a few times while listening. Wishing you more enjoyable gaming sessions in the future, E-N-D. What you meant by that last comment is that people post in all the different places, and I never respond to them in those places. And the reason I don't is because it would be just me responding. A few times it might be Michael or Jim, but the majority of the group doesn't go to these different blog sites and Twitter and Facebook. So you wouldn't be getting as comprehensive as a response than if we wait for feedback. Plus, there are listeners who also don't go to those sites, so they wouldn't know that the questions, and they might ask them over and over again. The other comment that he was talking about with the editing was that when Rachel and Scott went into the other room, no, that was an episode before that. You wish to discuss some things about your character, so you and Scott went off and took the microphone with you. And when you reveal things that were too revealing, I just messed it up so all of a sudden you were saying stuff, but you couldn't tell what you were saying. Unless they really wanted to go through the effort they could have figured it out. To get back to the feedback, we had one additional post on the blog page from Marcus. This was in regards to the most recent episode, he said, "Oh my God, talk about revelations. Time to man up Jay and stop letting a little girl lead you around down the garden path. Clarify, when I say little girl, I mean Silver Bell, not Michael Clay, smile face." I know, Marc, show some leadership, man. Now, with the sarcasm aside, I'd like to say that this was a great short, sharp episode, and I look forward to the outcome that lay in the future. Marcus, binder of the Unbound book. What was the last episode? It was when the big reveal, that the 12 members. Over to Facebook, episode 220 True Gods, Robert B posted and said, "It's a fake, quick. Let's not use cold iron." Well, as Scott said, cold iron is not something that is easily obtained unless you are in the management of yourself or you are in the middle ages. Paul B also posted and said, "You have a cult to fight, perfect. All you have to do now is invent Kool-Aid." Wow. It's got three decades. He's always going to be too early. And later on he posted and said, "Thank you for the t-shirt." And the plug, which we talked about is Swordnut Radio podcast. And he said he'll post a picture modeling it when it arrives. It's currently on a slow boat to London. Luke G also posted a lengthy discussion on his family ancestry all the way back to the Mayflower and beyond. Stevie posted and said, "While listening to the interrogation, I kept saying, 'Having right down his own kid's name on a mirror.'" Great mind, Rachel. Too bad it didn't work out though. R.E.J posted a link about the wonders of Finland. And they had to deal with the feedback discussion that Scott was having that particular day. Did we bash Finland? Mm-hmm. I was thinking some of us bashed Finland, Scott defended it, and R.E. was telling us the wonders of Finland. Was it wonders? Yeah, it was pretty nice. Okay. We posted a picture of the gods of transportation. Yes, we did. In which R.E. said, "Wow, those are awesome. Good thing they decided not to tear them down." J.S.N.M. posted and said, "Gotta love the ancient statues with trucks on them." World of Darkness is weird, in which I reminded them that those are actual statues that exist in the city of Cleveland. Good day. In which he changed his supposed to, "Gotta love ancient statues with trucks on them, Cleveland is weird." Which you can learn. They say they're the old gods, and if they're carrying trucks, it's a little inaccurate. It is a little weird. I agree. Absolutely. Chuck S. posted and said, "I miss Cleveland." Chuck is currently living in southern Ohio, but he used to live up by us. He apparently liked the gods of transportation as well. Was it warmer down there? Those are awesome stuff. He's gotta be warmer down there. At least a little. Episode 221, "Witch Busters." Mr. Merck, he posted and said, "Number one, Rachel, welcome to Scott's World." You can take away more dice if you want to. You were complaining about him taking away five dice for no reason whatsoever. That was clearly a secret reason. Number two, he posted and said, "Fifty shades made my day, actually my night." However, a word of warning. Mike, do not look surprised if someone does a fan/fiction. That is a terrifying idea. Did you brought it up? You let it up? That'd be a comic book with explicit pictures. Same episode, RPG gamer dad posted and said, "He loved the sound of the expression on Silverball/Rachel's face when Scott took five dice away." What the sound of her expression? That's deep. I think what he meant was he could just see her face by her exasperation. That's what I'm going to find. The sound was telling enough that he could imagine her. Yes, exactly. It was such an exasperated sound, he could just picture the exasperation on her face. You didn't get that? Luke G also posted and said, "Well, at least it sounds like Jay is crashing from a high. I hope Tom is feeling much better by now and I am." Although other members are not. Round and round. It did get passed around. Episode 222, "Don't open this door." Sean W posted and said, "Have you guys ever been in a room full of doors, like a big circular room with dozens of doors?" I think that would just be the end. It was weird because even before he busted, I was thinking that in Dresden, I should make an entire room full of doors. It kind of happened to know an arrow, didn't it? Well, a little bit. We're in a big circular room with one door. We couldn't open it. No, it was Lee Lee's three, right? I think. I'm sorry, yeah, every three. Yeah, but we could go to a fun house. And how about the little musical thing I put in there? That's pretty cool. By the doors. The doors. Little end. I think it was like an album side. Hey, that's a great song. Until the end. I'm saying it under KOTM, so I didn't say my, but I don't think any of them. I think it does. Doesn't it say looking pretty? Only for those of us who are not. So, I don't think there was any doubt. I really don't know if I was supposed to back up. I don't know. I didn't know what it was. I mean, I would have posted it. Yeah, I guess I would do it as well. I just assumed, I just assumed. I really don't know how the inner voice. So, Ari also posted on episode 222 and said, "Ooh, that was an informative episode." Nice. Rachel really kicking it, gracing it pretty. Mm-hmm. Greasing it is a new thing. It's a verb. It's a verb. P.S. It's a good thing that you have Michael and Tom to sing those low notes. No, wait, that's a metagame. He's referring to the shattered man being broken. Oh, I don't really know the chance. Okay. Ari also posted a YouTube in which it was a county link about doors. Mm-hmm. Was it really weird? Was it funny? It was small. It was interesting. It was definitely different. It was fiddin' landish. It was fiddin' landish. It was not only fiddin' landish, but it was like the 1940 Finland humor. Wow. If you can imagine something. It was like a Twilight Zone episode where things were just weird. It was hard and weird, and this is what it was. Right. Roy from the Ruzak gamers post and said, "You guys have a lot of doors." Also, the Ruzak gamers recently had an episode in which they talked about our podcast. I want to give them a shout out and hang on that. They were talking about when we were testing the Dresden light rules, which we can't release because we're under non-disclosure. Very much. Did I sign them? I didn't. I did as Jim. It seems like I'm a darling. Did the interview with you and Scott that's offered you game or dad, and that should be coming out, I think, in two episodes soon. Yeah, it's soon. We'll definitely have to thank those now. Nice call, sir. Wish we had one. Yeah, really. Amanda, our posted under episode 222 as well and said, "Thank you for adding granola to my vocabulary." And Romulus P said, "I got to say I've never heard the term granola before, but now I will use it in the future." Joshua S said, "Granola is coming term out here in the Pacific Northwest." That makes sense. Where all the granolas have them. That's like granola central. Wow, man. Yeah, a lot of granola bars there. Wow. Yeah, that's not how you make it to be. No, I'm sure so. I'm just going to do a thing of it first. So just a shout out to Joshua, us. He just had his second girl. His wife and his child is doing well. They're back home. Yeah, congratulations to you. Now we have to play man to man. Mm-hmm. Two verses two. Pretty soon it's done. The zone is awful. It is awful. I'm going to be posted and said I've been very open and then left out loud. That's a great thing. That's a great saying. He can't let it go. If I add to the bed, I'm someone. Yeah. I heard that in the last day. Okay. Although he is truncating his responses. It's for sure. Yeah, exactly. Quick jab is opposed to the more verbose response. So Ms. Director Mark Cross posted their episode they released recently because they had some comments about our podcast and they wanted to let our fans know in case they wanted to. Listen. And one of it was they had a resurrection story because of Easter and I included the one where Mike was jamming in my dragon thing. So they read that on there and then they talked about podcasts. I'll have to. I'll have to. They also had a great thing about GMs and GM types and categories. Strange as you should mention that. Because underneath that post, Jason as posted and said, "Hey, any chance you guys could discuss the contents of the Ms. Director Mark episode?" Specifically what type of GM you believe you are and how you prep for a session. I'd be interested in hearing it as an aspiring storyteller. And to Jason I'd say we may go back and visit that when we have very little feedback today. We have a lot. So we're not going to discuss it today. And we haven't discussed our GM in styles in the past. Sure. But it's lost in the 200 plus episodes. There are a lot of episodes. Well, we're on Twitter. Paul B posted a picture of the abandoned Cleveland Aquarium and said that we should use it as a background story for some of our stuff. It looks really cool by the way. Also on Twitter, RPG Gamer Dead has gave us many shout outs. You mentioned that our podcast is one of his favorites and whatnots would like to thank him. And our last bit of feedback is from our email feedback@kyotendpodcast.com. Robert G posted and his subject was a guy game you guys might be interested in. He said, "Hello Knights. I was listening to this discussion on 5E again and I was thinking of a game that you might enjoy. SLA Industries, a futuristic horror-esque world where media is everything. It just seems like it's right up your alley. It is easy to throw in just about anything to make the game more interesting. And I just thought I'd share it with you. Have a great day. So thank you, Robert. I did look at it briefly. And it looks like something that could be included in your world and my world and any number of worlds. Not, you know, standalone. Right. Something in the world with no privacy or everything's media content. Yeah. Which is the modern world, right? And you're pretty much tied into anything. I'll take a look. The one last thing I'd like to mention is that the QCC now has its Kickstarter up and running. QCC is the convention in Buffalo, New York. It is one that Michael and I went to last year and had a really great time. Ken Hype was the guest of honor. We got to bend elbows with him, drink a bit too much and play. That was really great. I'm looking forward to it again. Yeah. So Michael and I are both already planning and attending. It was a Kickstarter thing though, right? The Kickstarter thing is going. They got to raise a certain amount and it'll be live. You can still buy tickets at the door but it would be really best for anybody who really plans on going to go through the Kickstarter so that they have enough funds to. This year they're going to have as many as 3D guests of honor. Depending on what stretch goals they reach? Yes. And the main one is John Wick. Very interesting guests. I'd like to meet him. Andy Hopp from Kind of the Cobb is one of the stretch goals. And then there is another who is a game designer and I'm sorry. I can't remember the name but hopefully they'll reach that stretch goal and meet him as well. With that, we'll wrap up the feedback and I remind everybody we have the Amazon link. We have the Patreon page and other than that, just enjoy the episode. This is the World Darkness story, the Sineator. I'm your storyteller Scott and with us tonight on my right. Michael playing Ethan Clark, a medical doctor and member of Aegis Kidero since 1929. John playing Jay Alton, a member of the ascending ones and leader of Task Force Siren. Jim playing Kideo Connor, a nun and a member of the Malice Melkarn. Mike playing Michael Clay, the academic adventurer from the Aegis Kidero. Bob playing FBI Special Agent Jupark, a member of the Basky Conspiracy. Thomas playing Edgar Advanteis, the doing practitioner, a member of the lay mystery conspiracy. John playing Daniel Morgan, a Mount Manton mercenary and next member of Task Force Valkyrie. As we lucked off last week, there was a tentative casing of the castle. In the sense that you got to the door but some of the defenses that seem to be magical or supernatural in nature, you decided to go back to fight another day I guess. To think better or to do more research, it just seemed like you were rushing into something that you weren't comfortable attacking at that moment. That might be your definition of what happened but what happened in my definition was that we had a teenage girl that threw a fit and insisted we go somewhere and then threw a fit and said we shouldn't be here and I got to go home and rest. We didn't know they had a front door. I didn't know anything about no supernatural bullshit, she's the one that was talking about that. Well to be clear, Edgar kind of backed up some of her observations. He saw the gate. He saw the goggles. Y'all are high. I had the goggles on. Oh there it is. And he saw the other door, so two doors hit pretty bad. We have to go. My point being that there was at least a member of our team that did corroborate her story. Is it some of that? Well, corroborate that she didn't see something. There's magic shit. That's corroborate. There's magic shit. There's no denying that. I saw it forward. I want to be for being back then. I must point that out. It's actually supporting her argument. Right. Actually you're playing against her. Okay. I can lose a beat. But he gives all his willpower. So that scene has concluded you all went back to the hotel room to discuss how you were going to approach the information because I think the biggest thing that happened in our last session was that Daniel had a discussion with Silver Bell in the back of the flatbed in which he seemed to indicate that. And you've told everyone to do that. At the end of the last session. No, she told me. You told Jay. Okay. Well then I'll assume that we could all at the table obviously. We can play that out. But there was a big reveal last week between Daniel and Jay. So everyone gets up into the hotel room. I'm assuming everyone goes into the one that the two doctors are still working on their research of the Latin texts. It's about 4.30, 4.45 in the morning at this point. Everyone's exhausted. You've been up for a good portion of two straight days. Take it where you want I guess at this point. I'm not quite sure what you guys have in mind. We don't have one room. We have two. There's a room for the women and a room for the men. Sounds good to me. So Katie I'm sure is retiring to the room with Grace. Are we close to a point where we can solve one of these remaining or heavily? You've just got finished with the very first text. The one that you thought was easier was in Flemish. A Latin with a Flemish dialect to it. And there's one left that's definitely French in nature that Mr. Dr. Clay is terrified of. And does not wish to approach at all. It's actually trying to drag his feet and get room serviced. It's an obscure dialect of Latin that's in French. Oh wow. You know it's Latin that has French overtones from the culture in the back of the Latin in that southern French province. They became bastardized through the centuries. So there is a French influence to the Latin, yes. I'm not going to talk your way out of it. I don't know. We're time hopping across. So why not a French Latin? I just want to make sure. An ability to speak French wouldn't help at all there. They need... Modern Frenchness. Right. Okay. I'm going to take all my beats in French language. I'm French language. I want to learn it in the night. I speak French. I don't care. I have the merit. That's why I was asked. Do you speak Latin? Yes. I speak Latin in that French, so. Together we're... Together we can be totally useless. That's right. So what was the answer to how close we are? You need to start pretty much from scratch. In that scratch, but you need to put at least an hour or two into the last. There could be a better luck at that in the morning. In a few hours anyway. If you remember, we took the precaution of making sure the mirrors in our rooms did not have cracks. Correct. And then we also took down two mirrors that were intact and clean of errors because we knew that they would be a possible ban against the shattered man. Right. Okay. How about we tackle the last one at noon? I agree, but do you think... are we... I go to Jay. Are we on... is this a battle situation? Are we on Warframe since we have at least someone be awake or can we just all crash here? To the best of my knowledge, we've got a moment to arrest and take a crash. Which probably means I'm horribly wrong, but... Are we assuming that Grace is just in the... Yeah. Okay. Before we split up into our rooms. Jay, you were strung up on a tree and I didn't see you healed. I know. I've asked this sister repeatedly, but apparently her nap's more important. She's in the other room sleeping. Sleep it off, Jay. Okay. We can do it in the morning yet? Yeah. That's fine. Is there any medicinal things that would help her? You know, it was a magical tree. I have too lethal. I've had them for a very long time. Yeah. In the game terms, I mean, you can rest and get batching back. You can stay in a hospital and get lethal back. Or even just, I believe, if you rest, I have to look it up. But it's like one lethal every two or three days. And you're resting with medical, some type of, you know, medical attention. You're not moving around. I would assume you could do it at home. In a modern sense, you can do it at home as long as you had medication and antibiotics. And you were stitched up, you know, field dressed somehow. You know, something along those lines. You've got to live in doctor. Yes, you do. And I'm sure you could see to some of his wounds. If you wanted to, before calling it a night. I have one lethal or one batch of this lethal. Okay. I'll do what I can then for them. You can just stitch up my eye. Do you have a needle for my pupil? Don't do that. So, it sounds to me like the men are calling it a night. For the most part, after maybe a half hour of... Give me a sec. We have that hostage who was an acolyte of... At least on the bat, though. Yeah, okay. Right, on the white bishop, you think of who you think is being called the white bishop. One of the bishops. Yes. I'm going to sleep against the bathroom door, so if you manage to wake up and untie himself, I'm going to wake up before he leaves. Is there a window in there? Is there a mirror? No. No, we took it. There's mirrors. Which is very... Forward thing. Forward. Do we need him for anything else? We don't want to release him because he'll tell the light bishop that we're coming. But now he knows we're coming. Well, tell him something else. It'd be useful to have a spy that you know. What if we let him go followed him? I mean, they usually contact him, though, right? Yes. That's the only thing that I can really think of about how to get more information. We don't have any tracking devices. Yeah, that sucks. There is some additional information I should probably share with the group before I go to bed. And I bring you all up to speed, and the last bit of information that Daniel gave me. Big fat exposition rolls off his tongue. Which has to do with the 12 missing members, and then Grace apparently led them into Franklin Castle. And her time depositing him in this time? Is that my understanding? Or something like supposition? That's the hypothesis. She didn't follow them in, so she's not sure. Which 12? Let's go to bed. Wait a second, you just dropped a bombshell? I mean, I know we're all tired, but... So what you're saying is the agents that Winston Tate brought us all together to find... Charged us with finding us. She is somehow connected with their disappearance? Yep. Willingly? Or was she hired? Was she forced to do this? Do we know? Yeah. You know more than I do. Her skills were needed to lead them there. So she was working... So they were requesting? They were friendly terms, yeah. I don't really know if she was requested of her. I mean, this could be a big break for us. I mean, I know this has been a while, but... I thought the whole thing was... Judging by her interaction with us, I don't think it was that friendly, but... But now there's another kind of hiccup in the house, because the last member of Task Force Valkyrie that I encountered was a vampire who was trying to find Grace. No, it was... Well, he's a... Well, he's in... That's Valkyrie. We're not all vampires. The last one I encountered was the vampire in the house. It's funny she's here and counting on her right now. It was a joke. He's not without her anymore, right? Right. He's acts. Or so we think. Yeah, it gets a good point. What is he going to do, fucking report back to them right now? We're in the past. I don't trust anyone that was actually a good point. Yeah, but he's now cozy with someone who apparently can transcend time in space. You know what it took? What? What? He's talking to her like a fucking person. Oh, that. No, you had a point before you got sidetracked by he might be a spy, which is a thing. I know, I'm not accusing Daniel of being a spy. I'm just saying that. We have a connection here where she... She helped... Whether... Well, it sounds like she helped Task Force Valkyrie to go somewhere. For what purpose we don't... Do you know what... Why she had to move into Space? I'd like to ask, because I didn't read the mission. But we are looking for these people. They were sent here, if I understand correctly, two by two in that order. Two by two by two until they were gone. Four by four by four. Three groups of four? Yeah, three groups of four. Separate groups. And then all twelve of them, at the same time, don't know that. Who do we know? What do you tell you? What was that? It didn't make it sound like separate trips. Okay. So to our understanding, all twelve of them at the same time went with Grace Rocklin. You would think that that might be somewhat... For sure, we know logical, because the disappearances took place over a nine month to a year period. That's right. Where eventually the federal government shut down tasks, or the shadow government shut down Task Force Valkyrie's ability to go into Cleveland because they were losing to the agents. An element of ignoring here is that they could have fucked the time before they went through that portal. That they were all there at the same moment, could have been... Some sort of nonsense involving time that we have ample experience with. Time nonsense happens. If I understand what you're saying, Daniel, you're suggesting that... They were brought together... Grace and poorly. Yes, the Grace sent them to different periods in time to mess up and make changes. Oh, I know the idea that she brought them. They all went through the same portal. Does she make it sound like she'd only done this for these guys at all? Or has she sent people through this magical bullshit portal before? Shh. Oh, okay. Well, here's the situation. I mean, because I realize that I'm not going to ever get anywhere talking to her because... She just will not respond in any way, shape or form. Too much sister there. You have a great rapport with her, correct? So perhaps you can be our Grace liaison in this situation. That sounds fantastic. Please, Paul. Do you think it's not... I think it's the best plan. Just what I got from her, and you've already seen the holes I have in it. It's not a perfect rapport I've got with her, okay? There's some things she wants to hide, and I have to accept that, or she won't tell me anything. You know that. I understand, but if the fellow sees a series of small steps to try to achieve a greater goal, in addition to us wanting to get home, we've been looking for clues to Task Force Valkyrie, and I would imagine you have a personal interest in that as well, being a former member. Yeah, that's one thing I was going to bring up. I mean, your girlfriend is in that group of 12, what's she not? I'm really hoping she's here. So it... Well, yeah, I mean next week, she died. But did she? If Grace said she brought 12 through, that means... What the hell's her name? She had her head. Casey. You saw the head. That means Casey's here, though. I think she was just messing with your head to not take her little boy. Is that her head now? There was always a head. There was always a head. I knew it! Are you really worried for her to say to that? If that... I really want to know where that portal goes. If it goes back to our time, that's some help. Well, we're making a assumption that it's a length of time because it exists there now, and it exists there 35 years later. And this is not even the same necessarily true space, or whatever the fuck you call it. Does anyone want to know anything more? I'm sorry, but this is new information. There's a lot of ideas kind of coursing through me. I know we're all tired, and we need our rest. But we've just drawn another line here to her being able to manipulate and send people through time. And I just don't know. Now she's involved in another angle, and she seems to have a lot of information that sooner or later, I don't know how we're going to get it. She had to go to that castle to bring them through time. It's not her portal she made. She... Okay. Some refresh my memory. When we were on the farm, those time spirits were in her, and we drove them out, and they were chasing to get back in. They were trapped in her, and once she left that room, it allowed them to escape her. That's what it's sampling. Yeah, and if she's been out and about, she left before we came to that farm, and she left in there, like months. Did she have time spirits in her at those time? Was she controlled by someone else? Was she following her father's orders? As soon as she left the view of pictures of herself, those things bolted. I had to take photos of them to ban them. Based on what you've said, I'm wondering was she a prisoner of the farmhouse, or was she...? She looked it to me, and that's why I brought her out. But she's been... But who would have the power to contain her, because she... Well... She obviously wasn't contained. She told me before she'd been out months ago. That's what I mean. Yeah. I think she was a... And I'm simply trying to understand, in a logical order, because I'm an academic, and I like things kind of in a nice, straight, serious... Grab her boxes. That was awesome. But... This isn't a written history. No. I'll collect what I can, and hopefully we can piece together a decent narrative. I'm just saying she keeps on showing up in the center of issues that we want to resolve. She didn't know about these agents. Well enough. I think we need to be a bit more forthright about what we're searching for. But the thing is, even what we're doing right now... Yeah. The thing is, we don't know how she's connected to us. She is. We didn't know that. Who does know? Probably her. Right. Until we talk to each other. But, okay. I'm all for being forthright, as long as it's reciprocated. She's today. Right. I agree. This is a step forward. I'm happy for this. This is progress. No. This is something she should have told us right away. She didn't know it. And I know she doesn't trust us. She didn't know what we were doing there. We didn't ever explain it. I think we made it quite clear that we wanted to go home. This has nothing to do with going home. It doesn't? It doesn't? I don't know. We walked away from the fucking door. I don't know what the portal has to do with anything. I think it has an everything. I agree. Well, I agree. Maybe we need some time to rest. She ain't used that very portal to travel through time. She never used it. She never used it. She used it on other people to send them to somewhere that might not even be here. It could be related. And we should have checked it out, but we didn't, so we don't know. I was specifically asked by that vampire about Grace. The girl. The girl. So there's a connection there that I... They know more than we do. Right. That's annoying. I'm just saying that soon... I hope we can build a better rapport and you seem to be the best opportunity to have that rapport. Okay. When we get home, I hope you question your boss with the same things about the vampire. Oh, I get a whole thing planned for Winston Tate. I guess he doesn't spare it any of this. Edgar, you mentioned briefly that he thought that being on more than you and that annoys you. It was your all-out of time. It could be very annoying. However, Task Force Valkyrie has never, ever, ever taken kindly or appreciated your help. They wanted to solve their own mystery of why their agents were disappearing. And they were living when Winston Tate left Task Force Valkyrie to start his own Task Force because he felt that the Task Force had been compromised, if you recall, just trying to... remember this years ago in real life, he had left to start his own Task Force because he had the ear of someone in the shadow government that could go ahead and do that. And he started Task Force siren with the idea of using non-governmental entities that had some powers or some abilities other people didn't. Yeah. To go ahead and try to find what happened to these twelve agents. So Task Force Valkyrie, sure they know more than you and know they haven't shared and know they don't want to share. And matter of fact, if they saw you, they'd probably punch in the nose because they literally take Umbridge to the fact that you even exist as an entity trying to solve their missing problem. I understand the nature of the problem. Okay, just to make sure it's just annoyed because they literally are not allowed to solve the problem on their own. And they are working against us, the people whose job it is to solve it. Exactly. And the team Valkyrie has shared with me is a sniper bullet. And I know I caught a lot of napalm in my face. Right. And I'm not attacking you and I'm not even trying to compromise. I'm not saying I hope you are with Team Umbridge. You all keep calling me a military foe. I'm not. It was with them for a month. They taught me the chain of command. But for a long time, I was just to be able to shut your bunny in my head. They blew his head off. Great. I'm working with fucking vampires. You and I are in this game. I'm just saying. I'm not going to take any offense if you insult these people. And in the next room, and in the next room is somebody who seems to know a lot more about this than we do. That's my point. I've already had the discussion with Daniel and I want him to act as a leader. Fair enough, Jay. I'm not trying to step in your toes. I'm just saying. I'm sucking in this information. Right. We need him to act as a liaison with Silver belt because she's not responding. She has a military authority in any way that's even remotely positive. Of course she wouldn't. Do you? The girls are conundrum. Yeah. No, she's just teenage. Katie, are you calling it a night? Yeah. Did you call it a night? Were you even in this conversation? Or did you just call it a night? I think I was going to step out and then they started singing. So I kind of probably hung in at the door and then it was, they dropped the phone. So I'm like, oh my eyes. What is that? You can't. Right. Um, there is a knock on the door and you hear as you did earlier in the evening. Room service? Fuck off at 4 a.m. At this point it's 5 a.m. That's right. And you know that. So, yeah. Room service. That's still dead. Wait, I'm sorry to be clear. Katie heard the knock on her door. No, Katie's still in the room. Oh, that's right. She wanted to go to sleep but she had a stake in the reveal. I'm sure I'm at the door. Near it at least. Yeah. Alright. Nice storm lock. Swing it open. Whoa! Whoa! The end is a little hard. One in the room. One in the room. Four in the room. I'm at the door. Yeah. You have your back against him and say, with your arms crossed. I hold out my finger as if, wait, hold both you, Daniel and sister. Pull out the Glock. I already have to hide my back and open. I open the door. I open the jack and I open it. Sister's holding the knob so. Wait, is this my room? Is it my name? I mean, is it? Yeah, I mean, you're the one who, I mean, first of all, you had room service earlier tonight. Yeah. Room service, but I'm glad you don't like that. I don't like that. Well, actually, it was Daniel who had the hoey, the midnight hoey. But sounds to me the same voice. And maybe you hear a slight playing of a tray or whatnot. But yes, it's very similar to what happened earlier in the evening. And this room is in your name. However, Jay seems to be taking control of the situation but you're willing. Alright, I just want to be close. I mean, at this point, I don't care if you empty your gun in his head. It's fine. You lose the room. We have to leave. You're security department. We probably wouldn't be able to sleep. But so far, I haven't heard of anything that wouldn't be the same at noon. But, you know, it's not going to be the door. I'm opening the door. Alright, do me a favor and make a strength check, please. I don't know. I don't know. I get two doors. Am I ending up on extra stuff? Just a strength check. Two dice for strength? Yep. You want to say I open the door? One second. Whoa! I got one. What'd you expect? No one's still open. I got one success. Eight, nine, ten. Sorry, I don't have my dice. That's fine. That's okay. Two dice, two successes. Two dice, two successes. As you open the door, it is smashed open really quickly and forcibly, which is why you were rolling a strength that kind of caught you off guard. You end up taking too bashing to your face as the door smashed into it. Katie staggers back from the door and holding her face and her nose, which is bloody. Standing in the doorway is someone dressed in hotel attire that's holding a tray in their hands. But, behind them are what look to be three people wearing cloaks? No, they look like they're cloaked individual. Oh, oh, oh, I see. So much like the gentleman you had captured earlier in the evening. They have a shotgun trained on them. Do they? From me. Oh, really? Not quite. Three of us. I've been wanted to say it's what five a.m. Everyone roll in this shit, please. Ethan? They should have rolled their team. Daniel? I won't die. I'm ten. Edgard? Fifteen. Katie? I won't die. Sixteen. Nice for being bash in the face. Jay? Seventeen. Nice, sir. Jesus. Shoot. Nice. Seven. What's that? Nine. Ninety-nine. Ninety-nine. No, what's your fault? And thirteen for me? Jay, you see a door falling open or fly open. Like Katie opens a bit and you see it forcefully smash into her. She staggers backward. Doesn't lose her footing, but she certainly falls backwards. There's a breakdown of where everyone is. You have Ethan Clark and Katie both near way. The door opens into the room from left to right as you're looking at it. Otherwise, no man is from west to east if you're looking at the map. There is what looks to be a server in the door holding a tray and filling the space behind them seems to be at least three cultists in their cultist garb heavily cloaked face in the shadows. Belboy, does he look scared and nervous or has he got a blank look in his face? Oh, that will require a role, I think. One time approach is for you. Jay, what happens? I'm assuming that the Belboy is one of these zombies we've dealt with before. I'm telling the cloaked figures to stay where you are and don't step in the room if they do a fire. So aiming in a fact. Right. I'm going to say not aiming. Well, not aiming per se, because that's a plug. Holding an action. Yeah, you're holding an action and waiting. 16 is Katie and 15 is end guard. Are these guys holding weapons? What it looks like is they are heavily cloaked. Their sleeves go past their hands and their cloaks fall over their face. So to say whether they're armed or not is not possible. Well, I'll put it this way. You don't see any weapons. Okay. But the door is open now. It's quite open. Oh, it's open now. And as your face will. Yeah. I didn't know if I sent my block. It was only just a bit. No. But since you were out muscled, you took the damage and staggered backwards. And I was going to have been your role for a surprise. But I think we'll just do it straight up. You're fine. I mean, you're fine. You're holding your face. You're bleeding and your eyes are watering. But you are able to take an action. I'm drawing a gun out. There's people behind me with guns out. And I tell them we're heavily armored in here. You don't want a gunfight. What the hell do you guys want? I think they want a gunfight. They don't respond to you. You're able to get that all out and you're standing in your ground as you pull out your weapon. Correct? I was going to do a benediction, but I'm going to save it. You might probably get killed. No. Excellent. I should have did it before. All right. Edgart? I'm on my ass. Mm-hmm. I don't even have a clear on this. No, you don't. Boy, those are fucking cots. Yeah, I do. The cots are fine. But kitties, why would save within reason in your way? Okay. Mm. Draw my weapon and go prone. Us for target. Okay. So you get on your stomach in the same spot. Yeah. Feet against the bathroom door. What type of weapon would you draw? A knife's dumb, so I'm probably going to draw on my pistol. A knife would be dumb. Well, to lay prone with a knife would be dumb. We are at 14, which is the cultist. You see the bellhop buckle as if he's being pushed, kicked, something. There's a whiplash effect where his head snaps back and he stumbles into the room between Katie and Daniel, who is walking towards the door. And as he stumbles, he falls forward onto the stomach and the tray clatters to the ground and the silver lid on it picks up and spins off. And going across the floor are what looked to be beaded jewels that seem almost liquid in nature. They kind of spread out from the plate that they were on and they look like there's hundreds of them. And they start to form into what looks to be some sort of shape. Some sort of reflect, a symbol. Is it like mercury or something like that? That is an excellent description. It's green in nature, but it looks like you would imagine mercury moving if you broke a thermometer and it has that liquid silver type viscosity to it. So it starts to spread out across the floor and it starts to move. It's not just moving as if it's spilled, it's moving its own volition and it starts to form a pattern on the floor in the liquid that's maybe I'd say a quarter of an inch, maybe an eighth of an inch high. So that's what happens with the bellhop. The three cultists that you see move into the room. The first one moves to Daniel, the one in the center moves in and moves to Katie. The one that was on the far left moves to the doorway itself and does not move in. The first one that moves here gets a shot. Absolutely. That would be the one that was moving towards Katie. Jay, you have Heath and Clark and Katie both with some degree of blockage as you're trying to fire through them if you want to fire your gun. I do. If that's the case, I'm going to houseroll right now and just in fact keeping things going, I'm going to say that it's close quarters and there's two people in front of you that you are assuming care about enough to try to really miss minus four. So go ahead and it's not going to matter much for you, but go ahead and get your dice pull. Spending a well? I'm actually risking a well. Three and nine again. Three and nine again. So by adding three that takes it up to 14 dice. With a hand done. Not bad. I haven't trained in many weapons. Two guns is one of them. Right. So you have four. So minus four you said? Minus four. And then you are still suffering from your eye difficulty which is two more. Which is two more. And I think that's where we'll leave it. You're not aiming at a certain part of the body and just trying to hit the corners. Yeah. Okay. So I'm going to use this. I'm not going to do these dice if I'm not my friend lately. One. It is a ten again. Well. And that gives me two which is a ten again. Not two. No, a ten. Okay. Two successes. Gotcha. So that is two plus the gun damage of two total four. I think what I would have done if you would have missed just to be clear I would have said that you had been a chance to strike one of you with a J. And if there's something you do well please. Even one eye it's two to weapon. So you bullet definitely struck home on the shoulder of first coltus in the door. The coltus does move through the door however. And you can see what looks to you Katie a crazy eyed visage of a man behind the hood. And he charges in and when his right hand comes up the sleeve falls down. And you see symbols on his arm. It looked to be ancient symbols tattooed onto his arm and he's carrying a knife which is hooked almost like a small cemetery. It's very hooked and sharp and he brings it up and he tries to plunge it into your chest. Cool. Okay. Okay. Can you tell me what your defense is please. Close. Close to dexterity or with plus athletics. Right. However, your action was taken and it was to pull out a weapon. You can't dodge but you do get your defense removed from his dice pool. Two dice, one success and then I believe you get to add the weapon to it as well in the new rules. Two damage from the knife, two lethal damage, so I have a lethal and two bashing from the door. So the first one comes to the door get shot in the shoulder moves to Katie reveals a long knife and stabs her in the shoulder and something doesn't feel quite right. When you get stabbed, there's a very icy cold feeling that starts to steep into the wound but nothing has happened yet. So you just know something bad just occurred. The second cultist comes through on the right and goes for Daniel. So what's your defense please. Four I think. You have not acted yet. You may choose to dodge if you wish. No. You won't shoot this guy. Right. Exactly. Okay. So your defense is four. And then with strength plus weaponry is what he gets. Okay. You're trying to stab me? Yes. I'm exhausted. So he has seven dice. Your defense is four. So he has three dice plus if he hits with one of these he gets the damage gets done in addition to the success of the rules. That's a good thing. Were we wearing and did we get any bonus part of any kevlar type of farmer? It's the best of my knowledge. I don't know that you were in kevlar. I thought you changed pretty immediately to regular clothes that Ethan brought in. No one mentioned that they were getting dressed when they were going to the house. So I doubt you got dressed. You would have bet. There's much. Whoa. I would have worked. We didn't expect to have time to get undressed. Well no one mentioned that last week. Yeah. But we didn't mention it. So we were not. Yeah. Right. He actually swiped at you with this long curved knife. And you were able to deflect it away with your forearm that doesn't have a gun in it. You kind of knock the bike off the side and it just catches your clothing but does not actually damage you. The third of the coltus come through the door. So that coltus comes to Katie and attempts to plunge the knife directly into her midsection. Katie you're down to four defense now instead of five. They have seven, that's three. I rolled five five two which is no successes. So that one you spin out of the way as a nice thrust towards your stomach and you are count yourself very lucky that you're able to dodge that. At this point the hallway is dark. There's a couple of electric lights but they're very sparsely populated on this particular floor, the second floor. However, a figure moves to the doorway after the three coltus enter the room. But they're bathed in white shimmering light. They seem to be dressed almost in a priestly fashion. Yeah, there's vestments. There's vestments involved and John had a good, you know, an ecclesiacical look about them. The hands are up in the air. There's definitely hood over the face much like the coltus but yet the guard is much more ornate. And you can see there are cymbals but the white is almost blinding if you look directly at it. As they step to the doorway, raise their hands and begin to start chanting. That takes us to Ethan. My goggles, did I get them back? Yeah, sure, I came back. Okay. I would have expected that. Yeah, I'm just going to dive on the floor in the center of whatever's emanating out of the bell hub. Do you want to dive on it? Yeah. I just want to explain to you what you're going to try to do. I have no idea what I'm trying to do. So you're going to dive in the center of it and do what you can. Mostly get out of the way of gunfire, but you're almost diving to your right. Yes, Michael. I'm starting to interrupt you. Are you allowed to speak or say anything? Speaking of the free action, as long as it's within reason, it's not a soliloquy, you know, because this is a three second span of time that everything's happening. Right. You just kind of drew who guys are thinking alike, because you're doing what I was about to do, but I was going to say use a blanket from the cop, you know, as you try to. He says that you can take a step to your left, grab a blanket, and then dive as very much within reason. Okay. That's what I do. Okay. And because you're aiming for the very center of it, I'm going to just make a roll. If you miss your role, it's just going to be you can close, you can crawl there or whatever. I don't really care. I'm going to say that dexterity plus athletics to launch yourself through the air and kind of land where you want to land. How many dice is that? That'd be five. Five dice. I'm going to say, no, I was going to give you a minus, but because of your time in teppat during the Chinese insurrection or invasion, I'm going to say that this kind of chaotic scene doesn't throw you as much as it would a normal, goodly doctor from 1935. So go ahead and make your five bagel. Make them work for me, Angel. 10 again, 10 on the five dice, and that's it. One success. So you dive onto the center of this liquid pentagram for like a better term or not pentagram, but symbol that's starting to form. And immediately as you land upon it, you hear the hiss and you smell the accurate stench of burning wool, which is what these blankets were made out of. And you begin to fear very quickly that this protection's not going to last very long. It's eating through the blanket. And when you look down to see how quickly is happening, the bees and the liquid remains perfectly formed, not smeared at all. That was your intent of it, obviously, it does not affect it. However, in all this activity, please make a perception check. It's close composure. Thank you. So your composure is two, and your widths are three, so five dice, just five, no successes. You do not proceed anything out of the ordinary. Michael, we're trying to give them two turns. I'm going to go again before they go on turn next turn. I see Dr. Ethan dive on, and I see what happens with that. Yeah, you might hear him say shit or something out loud or whatever, okay, so at least he's handling that. My girl. Is there a cultist on Daniel? Yes. Do you see what? Like? There's another cultist on... There's two on me. Two on Katie. Those two. Oh, the one that he shot isn't down. Oh no. You saw him. The shoulder kind of buckle is a shot happen, but he continued through with a frenzy, and he's the one who actually stabbed her shoulder. A second cultist moved towards Katie, so she has two stab at her stomach to really kind of try to gut her and miss. I shoot at the one that Jay hit first. There is also a bishop glowing in the door frame. Right. Just letting you know. I know, but I'm trying to concentrate firing you and turn it down. Yeah, we got it down. Two minutes. That's speculation. White bishop. Well, I don't have a clear shot at the bishop while I assume it's the bishop. I have to kind of shoot through Daniel. Well, no, I'll go for the C that I have a clear shot at then. Okay. That one that's attacking Katie. He can't shoot through Daniel. Yeah, he's too big. I just realized he's a giant, so I'm not going to have that Jay, but I do know how to use a weapon. And I'm using the cult 45. So tell me your diet cult. I have a total of nine, minus two for trying to avoid. Okay. Sister Katie. Yes. I mean, how hard are you trying? Right. That takes you down to seven dice, minus one because of your exhaust gen takes you down six and that's it. I've got to be exhausted. Yep. Unfortunately. I think he did. Not even in the eye. I've got one success. One success. Now you get to add your weapons damage to that success. The damage of the heavy pistol is three, so a total of four. Didn't you risk? Oh, yeah. I risk. It's a nine. You know? Okay. That's okay. That's irrelevant. Okay. Yeah. So you give him what amounts to right in the, like the meaty part of his side, the bullet goes in. This is a new guy. This is a new guy that hasn't been hit before and he buckles to like to one knee and then stands back up again and you can see the blood absolutely just filling all the robes that he's wearing. I'm going to see the bullets work. That takes us then to Daniel and then shoot. Daniel? It takes one look over the shoulder. So the gunshot sees the flaming massive magic on the floor and brushes aside the scan front of the bull rush, the, the bishop. Brushes aside the guy in front of the tent to brush aside the guy to tackle this guy. And to tackle the, what seems to be the, the, the real one just figured in the doorway. Yeah. I don't have an answer for you in the rural system. So what you're going to do is you're going to make a contested strength plus athletics roll against this individual to try to muscle your way through. If you have brawl, that's fine. They're the same love. I don't know. I don't know. It doesn't matter. What you're trying to do is your action would be to take him and throw him to the side. You can then move to the pitch up and launch yourself in the air. That would be a second action. Okay. Which will happen next turn. It's all very cinematic. Well, it's three seconds. Can I just shoot past him over? Absolute. At the bishop. And I get a minus two because he's prone. You're, you're ready. Yeah. You're trying to avoid the guy in front of you, right? You're not trying to hit him. You're, you're trying to hit the bishop. Yeah. I'm trying to hit the bishop. Okay. Then go ahead with you guys. I wouldn't mind if I hit the other guy. Well, you might have that very much, that very opportunity. Yeah. Okay. Still minus two though because I'm not particularly. How many, how many dice do you have? I don't know yet. Uh, this is firearms. Okay. It's now rifle. So just four. Four dice. Four dice. Minus two because you're firing past someone in close combat. Yeah. Um, I would say minus one for your exhaustion but I do know that you have giantism and I think that might be something we can use in this particular instance to say he doesn't get the minus one for that. So let's go ahead and fire your bullets. Guys talk to Tyler. Oh. No. Not once in a while. Let's go. Okay. I'm trying to help you guys, right? Yeah. You guys see him? Always evil and mean. I don't say that. Because you're Michael. 88. I get 88. That's two successes. Two successes plus what is your mod on that? It's a revolver. So it's two. Four damage. So you shove with your offhand, you shove the guy in front of you slightly away from you. He stuck your staggers back. You move your gun, you fight her at the bishop glowing in the doorway and your bullet enters the light that radiant light that almost blinds you. And before your very eyes it melts. It just dissolves into like mercury on the ground and tackle. Yeah. What dissolved? His bullet. Uh. Uh, chew. Well, it was traveling. Yeah. We're going to stop traveling. Oh, no. No. I think it should mentally stop. Oh. And then it just melts. Okay. That just got so much cooler. And he's not sprayed with mercury all over. Yeah. We had him here. He's disgusting. Chew. What? That would have been worse if it would have hit it. Yeah. At bullet velocity. Yeah. So cute. Mommy. Thank you for listening tonight's of the night actual play podcast. It's about to go to the audience, part of this. I went to a party where you had to drink every single time. Every time the word Spartacus was in the family original '50s movie or whatever it was. That was a lot of drinking. So anyways, I found three days of the kind door. Robert Reiford. Anyone? Anyone? Yeah. Yeah. With the bow and arrow and the wife with the bow. What? Three days of kind of where she uses the bow in the woods. No. Oh, no. About that. Three days of kind. You are Robert Reiford. Yeah. Bow in the woods. His wife ends up having to protect him and she uses the bow and arrow to... No. And then he puts her in the wood shipper and then... That's Fargo. Oh, shit. Three days of the kind door. Jesus. He works for decoding section of the CIA and they come in and kill everyone except for him. Who made his girlfriend? Maybe you missed something. He's not married. Yes, he has an Asian girlfriend and she gets killed and then he ends up with Faye Dunne, Dunne, Faye Dunne, right, who he abducts and forces to help him as he's trying to improve his innocence and they keep trying to bring him in but they keep trying to kill him while they're trying to bring him in. He doesn't know who to trust. This is where I came in. Of the kind door? Is there a point? Two. I was wondering if anyone ever watched it because it was a classic. I watched it. I do remember seeing it. Yes. That's why I wouldn't have to watch it. No, I won't give you any more. What was it, Mae? Right. Well, there's a bug. Probably. It was in Sydney Poly. He's a good director. It's a good director. Robert Redford. It's a good one. It's probably a mid-70s. It's an older movie but it has something to do with the bows and arrows, just to be clear. But it's a CIA like this guy who's this decoder who doesn't want to shoot gun. He's like this kind of pacifist dude and he gets put in a situation where he has to kind of run for it. He's just untrained. Oh, more of untrained in the pacifist but he does drive a bicycle in the 70s so I think here's a little bit of. Yeah. Anybody that's a violent pacifist? Right. No. Something. Whew. So, with you, our port you want to watch a decent movie in three days or around. I don't know. I'm watching House of Cards. Ah, good. That works soon? Yeah. I've heard good things. I've heard good things. I've heard good things. Okay. I think the season wasn't quite as good as the first one. I don't know about 30. I haven't seen any. No, not Netflix. No, it is. The third one is. They're all on Netflix. It's an Netflix version. Yeah. That's good. What movie am I thinking? I'm not going to sweat out three days of the condo. I can see the poster. What's Robert? Hey, looking it up. Yeah. Okay. Good luck. That's where the entire plot saw was. That was the porno version. It's three days of the condom. That was a totally different movie. Alright. I'm going to be pulling. Okay. Who did porno? I'd say pun. Is that a pun? Well, the title's a pun. It's really more of a pun. What was it? You bazed a joke on a pun. Sound of a bitch. You brought her about that? Say, shooting a bone arrow. Really? Rambo did it. I'm not trying to think of the movie too because I don't remember that type. I don't remember. I don't remember. I don't remember. It was called Deliverance. What's the one down there? There is a bone arrow on Deliverance. That's not what I'm thinking of. I'm born. Well, the porno identity was an older dude. Come on. The porno guy had to shoot an arrow at some point in one of those movies. Well, that's the whole porno. Alright. Homework per other day. We are rolling here. Okay. Yeah, it's on. I should be making. We are. That'll be easy. That'll be 45 minutes of the end track and only about 15 minutes of the afterwaps. Please make it. Tom. Don't play any. I remember the limbs. Fuck. Give me a sec. I have it written down really for ways and you're not helping. Oh, it's amazing. I want you not helping. God. What is that? Tom is playing Edgar Montes. If we're doing Pratix, this is going to be your bad. That's how you made it there. Victory. It's a Tom thing apparently. Tom is playing Edgar Montes. If we're doing a practitioner and a member of the Mistrei conspiracy. I think. I think. Yeah. I think. One more way to appear on the auger. Yeah, it was. It was just the word. It was just the word. It was just the word. Yeah, I'm glad you convinced me to play this conspiracy. Yeah. Okay. Well, we could have kept pronouncing it the way you were until I did. Yeah. One more time. One more time. Ready? Go. The whole thing. No, just a member of. And if you ever say the word Sasquatch in the description. Five beats. Ooh. That's nice. Just so you know. If I played the game for experience, I'd be all over that. If you're a mid-maxing, absolutely. I would say I would make an aspiration that says I will not say the word Sasquatch and then. Every single week. Every week and you'll get your five-year-old one. So? I actually had that last week. Did you tell that back? I did, but it ended up in Bonsop. Okay. Well. Sorry. I don't know why I'm doing this. I don't know either. I was going to ask you. Do you want me for a really... Yeah. One of these. The Shadow Government of Honeymoon? Yeah, it is. Okay. It's just not sure. It's just things people and co-talk about it. It's conspiracy theories. Right. Well, we're all conspiracies. Yeah. I know it's not true. Right. First one. Did you say fuck or fuck? Because it works out. But I... Oh, this is a map. There's actually a map. There's a map. What's your initiative about? It's never a good die-ten plus your initiative bonus, which is... Sex plus composure. It's a die-ten plus your initiative bonus, right? East. Yeah. Sex for seven. What plus composure? What was that? Initiative? Initiative. You have initiative on there? Yeah. What plus composure? Yes. Your dexterity plus your composure. Oh, by the doctor. Yeah. If you're all a ten or you love it, is it exploding? Oh, I forgot to update this. I increased my composure after I survived. Bull's eyes. Bull's eyes. Forest. I talked to Skye. Bull's your trees. You can take crazy shit now. Yep. I faced one of my breaking points. We should probably make a list of all the things we want to ask, Silver Bell, and all the things that she probably needs to know so that we get to make it out here, right? But I don't really know how best to do that. And 13 for me? What? You're here? We got another table. I want you to get me written down. Because I don't matter. Jim, are you written up? 13? 13. Okay. And I'll say okay. What's EC? I don't know. Eastern Clark. Oh. Okay. And what's S would be? Sister. Jesus. No, I didn't put it. Okay. I wrote the S, sorry. Okay. Yeah. Which one is North? Yeah. Exactly. I'll make it right this time. This for you. Okay. I know where Jay is. Chew, where were you? Do you know? Um, somewhere... I don't know. I don't know about it, I guess. You dick. You're not talking about character poetry. That was a dick move. That's a pretty big room. I would imagine that would be there. I would imagine that would be there. So this was 1935, man. They were opulent back then, and shit. I imagine I was with Dr. Ethan and doing the translation. I was thinking there's a couple of desks in the back, and maybe one of you were sitting at the desk for 10? You know, one of the desks. I can be at the desk, but when we heard the knock, I had spun around and the chair stood up. Well, I had my weapon out too. Sure. Right. Because you're sure. And do we have anyone else that could be in the room, please? John, pay attention. Where are you? Daniel, where are you? I was walking up to the door. Edgard, where are you? I was against the bathroom door. I was just complaining. Yes. Steve, can you just put yourself on there so we can all be aware? Yes. That's great. You have to be E.M. So I was going to be E.D. Fred. You can both kill him. The whole theory of the mining here with your map. I know. This is our room, man. I just don't want to hear wha-- but that's going to help. That's a lot of beds. Hey, it's two cots and two beds. Stop making fun of my mad hazard desk. So I got up and went towards the door just so I'm standing in the way of all the gunfire. Right. Exactly. You perfectly in the way. Good job. I told you we should have went to sleep. Yeah. It's fine. That would have went really well. It all sort of went well if we were still investigating the house and it was just you two. Where's the pool of green? Green. Green. Green. Oh. That'd be really good if we could have a wine sixty second. Yeah. Wouldn't it come? Yeah. Yeah. We could do that. Of course. I almost stopped it from opening the door. I think we should jump out the window. We're going to smile. See what happens when you just open the door? We all drew guns first. Oh, like nobody was able to open that door. That opened itself. Why didn't we chain it? Listen. We have handled supernatural entities before. We don't either have the help of a girl to save our boy. You're just piling out of the night. I'm just saying. And she's not here. She's sleeping comfortably. Sister, just don't draw your weapons. We're good. Jay. And she did. I know. I know. It was a point. I was making a point. Jay and Ethan. Ethan, you asked specifically Jay. You could see the bell hop, the symbol of BH. That's where he fell face first onto the ground. And those squiggly lines coming off his area are where the green liquid mercury, if you will, or the liquid gems are starting to form into a pattern on the floor. Just as a reminder, when I risk a willpower and I succeed, I gain one back. Yes, you do. If you were missing one, you gain one back. I was. I regained it. Is someone standing by the bathroom door? Well, they're lying in front of it. I'm going to get up in a second town. I'm sorry. Good. I thought they had guns. I was prepared for being shot. Can you throw them in? Yeah, but I'm good. Well, stabbing people, wasn't it? And I can disarm people like a motherfucker. So, I'm probably going to keep it. You have one in one night? You would have hesitated. If you had a hell of an action, you could have dodged the attack and doubled your Nissan. It's just working out there for anyone else who this might apply to later on in the combat. What? Katie could have held her action. And when the attack came, she could have dodged, which would have doubled her defense. You didn't know what to do with that. What was that? It was kind of like play. You can double your defense if you skip your main action. So they didn't do an action. It was a talk. Actually, you draw a weapon. Was your action. But Jim, you did not move. And I believe dodge. I can't remember now. Goddamn it. It makes me sound much more intelligent. How do you know? It's the attempt to make us all some more intelligence that drops us from two hours down to forty-five minutes. That's a lot of dumb. We appreciate it. A lot of dumb cut-out. A lot of dumb. This is an exception to the normal rules for contested actions. If the defender rolls at least as many successes as the attacker, the attack misses. Subtract successes for defense before adding the weapon bonus. Yeah. That is a different voice for that. But wait. There's dodging. But wait, there's more. Dodging is a role like any other and a player can spend willpower to enhance it. Merits and supernatural powers may allow additional dice pull effects such as allowing the defense role to be ate again. Or even a road action. What if I act now? Hmm. That was one of the worst 50 dodgers. Dude, that was so long. Reduce defense by one for each attack as normal when dodging. Before doubling the pull. Right, god. So if you just attack multiple times, your dodge is doubled for the first one and then goes down one and goes down one and goes down one and goes down one. As multiple people attack you, which makes perfect sense. That's weird. What's that? You roll a dice pull to represent dodging. Because the thing is, I have a dodge of like fucking seven. It's really high. So I roll double that to see how many I subtract. So I roll 14 dice with a one and three chance of success. That's less than half. If I just did explode and dodge, I retract seven dice from his attack dice pull, which is way better. Well, no, you double your defense. Yeah, but you roll dice and you need to get more successes than half of that. Oh, I've seen a one and, sorry, three and ten chance. It's, it seems like it's not. No, I think, but no, I think if you actually beat his attack roll, he does no damage. Is the idea there. You get 14 dice against his five or six. It's no longer subtracting from his dice pull. You're competing dice pulls. So let's say his attack is seven. Now you get him down to, well, I'll say eight. You get him down to one dice with just your defense. However, if you were to dodge, you would roll 14 dice against and be able to add willpower if you wanted to against his eight. And if you get more successes, he doesn't even hit you. So that's the difference between two because you had a very good point there. You need to compare it to the amount of success that he's going to get out of his right, which is what I forgot to do. Exactly. Kitty. Three news is coming. I did not know this is coming. You thought we were going to leave? No. I know. We're supposed to get murdered. Tom and I decided to find an alternate story. An alternate. Well, without Rachel being here. It was either we weren't going to play because it was just going to be two. Okay, but this makes no sense to Daniel. Rachel's not here. She's going to be screaming. Rewind, we need to rewind. He's trying to wake her up. She's in her room, which is... Maybe they got down the hall. I'm still shopping it. Wait next door. I think when he said check, it's because you know where we were. My point, I guess, and this is the danger here. My point is if she could help us, it would have happened and we wouldn't know it. The fact that this isn't my mind, but okay. Or it will happen and we won't know it. Yeah, she started here with us though. So even if she didn't, I think more of that. Yeah. Even if she did rewind, we wouldn't be. Timing, whammy, wiggly, wobbly. She'd know when something was coming. She could knock through the wall and say, "Guys, I'm fucking kidding." Probably knows she's given the orders. She's behind him. You're just playing your role, aren't you? I'm simply... It's a possibility at this point. Okay, so the... Burner. Bad guys. They're good for more of it, the only way to be sure. The vampire said she was telling me about the bad guys. Alright. One second. I didn't turn your daughter into a rooster. She just looks not working. That's a fucking correct. The house is dangerous. He'll go in the house. Okay. It comes to us. So, MC will be Michael Clay. Drop the mic. MC Clay. Go home. Uh... The K is Sister Katie. There are three people in this close combat. So, just to let you know, there's two cultists and Katie. And you're firing into that close combat. So, we're gonna... Oh, let me know how many dice you have. Well, take two of them. I said not hit one. But she's... they're moving. She's moving. She's dodging. And this is all happening at the same time you have to remember. The guy's blinging. She's spinning. She gets stabbed. She buckles and kind of moves to the side. This is all happening at once. So, he says there's a minus for every person in the... Sort of imagine minus six? Yeah. You can spend willpower. That doesn't sound right. Yeah, it doesn't sound right. He wants to hit two out of three of those people. Yeah. Okay. Shooting into close combat. Minus two per combatant avoided in a single shot. Hey. Sorry. I'm trying to avoid two of them. No. I'm only avoiding yours. Here's my correct... Jay, your minus four because you were trying to avoid two. Sure. Yours would be a minus two. Right. My bad. Sorry about that. Yeah, that's a little bit better. But I will take Will. We went to the castle right after we went to the... Shantytown. Which I wore my armor to just because I thought, you know... Yeah. There's no way we would have worn our armor to the castle. Yeah, that's right. On the other hand, I don't think there's any way you'd still be wearing it. I agree with what Michael's saying. After you got back and you were exhausted, you were going to sleep. We just got back. We just got back. You were always dropped and started... Well, yeah, but you were all talking. I'm sure it was... Get this shit off me and get comfortable. I mean, I guess you could... Yeah. What if that... What's the time that passed since we got back and spent the power? I think you guys argued or participated for a good 20 to 30 minutes. In fact, Jay had said that we're not anticipating anything so we don't even need a guard. So I think we... I don't know. All right. We should be arguing against us, but I think that we were... I think there's a valid viewpoint for... Well, it's not like I'm going to disrobe in front of the sister, though. Not disrobe, but take off a cavalier vest that's bulky and uncomfortable. It goes on underneath everything else. I got nothing on under that. Please choose. It's all she wanted there. Don't let me go in commando. Shoot this. My boxers are bulletproof. Okay. Ha, ha, ha. He just didn't. But okay. Go ahead. Go ahead. That gets to scan. Chuck? He'll go there. Okay, go ahead. Hold on to pulling. I'm so sorry. I'm just really sick today, guys. Hey, really. I thought maybe... I guess you might feel that way if you feel that. John got me really sick. Rachel's dying at us. It's Rachel's. I wasn't that sick. Yeah. Look at you. I'm sorry. That really makes up. That doesn't really. It's more than we got in the car than we go. Josh. Josh. Josh. So Mr. Echtenmark. I crossed the coast. I crossed the coast.
