[Music] Hello, and welcome to Night's The Night Actual Play podcast. This World of Darkness story, The Sin Eater, was written and run by a storyteller Scott. And now, please enjoy episode 217, titled "Go with Grace." Actual play begins 16 minutes, 52 seconds. [Music] To be back, we had from Facebook, episode 215, how dare you serve. R.A. posted and said "Killer episode crew 12, no casualties." But back and forth role playing between all was first class. That is why you are the best around. Awesome, it was a period in between each one of those and it wasn't gonna read it that way. Thank you, R. What was your episode? What was it though? That's the one where Mike, the play, came out of the alley, and grabbed the gentleman who had said the esoteric message in the drone-like voice and walked away. He chased him down, and then he said "on hand, be good, sir." "How dare you, sir?" "No, first gentleman." "Nice try, though." "Yeah, he's kind of far back." "Somebody insulted his knife." "Oh, shit, how dare you, sir?" "He was John, and he didn't even insult you, he's just vicious for those." "He literally sent us some time." "Anyways, Christopher Foster posted next, and said you suck." "Okay, okay." "Well, that's not a guy that thinks you suck." "No, he said, "Killer, I'm assuming you mean us and not Ari, because, really, we've run after Ari and it could have been Ari." "Oh, rude." "And Christopher said, 'Just got, actually.'" "Well, that'll teach him to tell me how to criticize his jamming style, which I have no problem with, by the way, but don't tell on that, okay?" "Shh, he posted on Facebook." "No, Chris and I talk, well, you'll talk, I'm responding to some of this post, because he was also asking about the funds and other things to do with his cartoon." "Well, they do the cartoon and the tan, okay, it's right." "Do you do the meme, too, the um, well, there's a silver ball meme." "Really?" "Oh, yeah." "We have a silver ball." "No, no, you don't want it." "No, it's awesome." "No, you don't." "No, you don't." "Yeah, it's totally silver ball, you have to show her the meme." "I wanna see the meme." "You show her the meme." "Oh, there's a laptop, happens to you right there." "I whip, where can I find the meme?" "You know what, you need to like your fan page." "Don't do it." "You can't even see it." "Don't ever, she's so excited and she won't like the fan." "Okay, I'm back to the feedback." "Blue Green posted and said there was a moment when Rachel left a little giggle that was very much like a hair from a teenager." "Holy shit." "It was moderately creepy." "It was moderately creepy." "A lot of other creatures." "Just a character." "Also, doesn't Jay know better than are you with a teenager?" "No." "It just feeds their power." "It does." Kevin Bates posted and said yes. The admirable smirk after she took credit for another spell doing something that it didn't do and refusing to answer again what the spell she actually cast did. And I thought it was pretty funny how adamant she was that she couldn't possibly help research in any way because she didn't speak Latin. Considering that the two members of Aegis Kidero didn't speak Latin either. I'm looking forward to Jay and the gang letting her handle the shattered man, although- "You do handle with quotation marks?" "Yes, right. Handle." Though for all I know she's been sitting on some bullshit mage power just for that scenario. Also, I'm looking forward to hearing the 5e content. It's like D&D with aspects so that's good. "Is that a fast-paced one?" "Something similar to that." "You don't get the right one." "You get to pick from the list." "Tell me that's not perfect." "For Silverbound." "Yeah." "I made this." RPG Gamer Dad posted and said brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. One of my favorite episodes of all time. Nice work guys. What do we do and I want to- "Yeah, I said again." "Which episode was this?" It was one that Michael Clay was trying to figure out who was the next target. And he was consulting his knife, his subtle knife. He's talking about his butter knife. He's not here yet. It's not. We nearly a subtle knife. Will a subtle knife cuts into the time space? Right. Fabricably. Yeah, you can like, create a portal to another world. Yeah, his doesn't do that. Does he know? He doesn't try it yet. Maybe he's sitting on some bullshit knife power that no one knows about. The end of the episode ended with Rachel's character Silverbell and mind-j arguing. Yes, it was a nice heated debate. People liked the fans enjoyed it. Like when we argued. You're not heated, each other. It's awesome. It's awesome. I can barely tell where it's sitting next to you. Okay. Where were we? RPG Gamer Dad. Yes. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. Well, he said with a British accent, which is so much cooler than we could ever do. That's true. Oh, he's completely British. He's got the best thing. Well, mention it again, but Scott and I were on his podcast. No, it's been a release yet, hasn't it? No, and it won't be for a while, but we'll mention it again when he comes near that time. Sure. You have people know if they want to go listen to it. Which they really should be listening to his podcast anyway, which is really, really well done. Dare I say brilliant. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. It's enjoyable because his family oriented, it's a lot of game time with his young son who's five or six. I might say. And he's got a two year old daughter who occasionally is on the show. And they use Rory's story cubes. Roll 'em and just make up stuff as they go along. So it's really good stuff. Luke Green posted on the episode as well and said, "I have to compliment Tom on his use of a series of unfortunate events theme. It was very appropriate and creepy. As to 5e, it's on a list of D20 products I enjoy next to D20 modern. Major skill monkey. Primary a combat function right now is combatheckler/tureleader. I say stuff and hurt people's feelings so badly that they take damage and suffer disadvantage on their next attack." Sounds like Silverbel in D&D. Yes, it does. It works great to support our half-orc fighter and elf, Moon Druid. Elf Moon Druid. Nice. It was also some feedback on episode 216 on Facebook. The title of that one was Mr. Dr. Clay, or there is no door. You took both of them. I didn't because it was a tie. And that was by far the most votes we've ever gotten on an episode. It's the one that was just released. And it was two play sessions ago. So it's us going in. Right. Things happening and chaos and yeah. Rory posted and said, "Well played, sir. Well played." Downloading now so I can hear what Dr. Clay describes for the door syndrome. At least I'm taking my weekly dosage. So thank you, Harry. Christopher Foster posted and said, "I thought we all decided that Silverbel wasn't allowed to do any cool shit so we can keep hating her." Later he posted, "binary hex is operating over different times. We've never seen him. The only other person we know of that has time power is Silverbel. Binary hex is obviously a foul-mouthed gender-bent Silverbel from the future. You're welcome, guys. Sure. I know we're writing fan fiction. Come on. That does borderline fan fiction. You're right. But thanks everyone. Why? It was still awesome. Did you guys specify before I started playing that Binary Hex was a man to be safety years. Actually, Kevin Bates posted an episode. Because I don't know why. Has Binary Hex ever been described as male? Yeah. I don't know. We saw a picture of him, I thought. No. Not just a mask on the GM through it. It was a very dark dark. To be fair, it was his avatar on a text message type thing that came up when he first started dealing with you guys. I think part of our belief that it's a man comes from you. He, he, he. Well, yeah, he. I guess I could say they, but... It's a very male avatar. It's what an avatar is. It is. Right. But if you're asking where we got that opinion, I'm just saying. So, but yeah, then to clarify, just so everyone knows, it's never been given. No one knows. Right. True enough. Man or woman he, she. Although, how many women would say you don't take it afterwards? A woman who doesn't want you to know she's a woman. Or doesn't like to take it afterwards. Wouldn't that be most of them? All of them. Over to email from feedback@kyotnpodcast.com. Robert Green wrote and said, "Hello Knights, just wanted to drop an email in. As I heard about you from @6esand7s, which is another podcast which I believe is faded, which is unfortunate. They were, they were good. One of my favorite actual plays. I downloaded every episode from iTunes and started from the beginning. Holy crap. This is the most addicting thing I've ever listened to. So, I just wanted to say thank you and keep up the good work. Well, thank you. Thank you. I'm glad you're enjoying so much. Also an email from Forerunner09 who said, "Hey guys, hey girl. I've been running a modern zombie apocalypse game for almost a year now. And I've noticed that one of my players has been gradually sliding into a state of boredom. He started a role playing really well with everyone, but making those dangerous and stupid decisions that constantly leave him with the lowest health of the group. His character has managed to stay alive, even though he probably shouldn't be walking around. I'm letting him play and be conscious so as not to exclude him. In our session last week, he spent almost three and a half hours wandering around aimlessly or sitting in a stairwell waiting for a reply text. We're constantly getting to his turn and listening to, I don't know what it should do, to which everyone else responds anything you want. Something cool or whatever makes sense for your character. He's really starting to frustrate the other players and myself. I don't want someone to lash out at him before I can figure out what to do. I've emailed out a survey in disguise to see if everyone actually wanted to keep playing and he says he does. I'm afraid to kick him out of the group as his online buddy plays with us and if his buddy is still playing with us when he gets mad at his gaming friend and I don't want him to be blank for anything. Anyways, thanks for your advice. Any advice you can give for Runner093. Talk to him privately on the side. Arrange some time. Talk to him. Tell him that his actions or lack of actions are having a detrimental effect on the story that's being told and he doesn't seem engaged and if he doesn't really want to play, no one's going to be offended if he steps away. But if he is going to play, please bring some idea or some, you know, if he needs help, you can start an email corresponds with him during the week of some ideas for his character. But the best thing that I've ever read, I've ever had to do it in person, but the best thing I've ever read was that you should always take them to the side and talk to them like you would with any friend or colleague or acquaintance that you're having problems with. You don't embarrass them in front of the group. You don't do it remotely over the internet. You take them face to face and say this is what's happening and this is what I'd like to know. Are you really having fun? That's assuming that it can. Sometimes people play on the internet and they don't have access to it. I got the idea from the way he described it as if this was a tabletop setting. If it's not, then he'd have to have a conversation with one guy being an online buddy. For a while, I thought that he was talking about that his character is so wounded that he can't take actions because he's on the cusp of death, which might be because you know, he was a storyteller. And some of our players were in. That's a very situation. Thomas, what do you do? I lay there and bleed. So I actually suggested to him an email because we hadn't been able to respond to this. That if his character is in such a state or maybe he doesn't like his character. Talk to the player and say, hey, if you want to make up a new character, we can do that. But let's work with him when we have. Let's have this guy be bitten and he's turning into a zombie slowly. He's getting healthy and now you have an inner party conflict. How do they kill someone that was just a friend that we could come? Use it to your advantage to make this character more interesting. Maybe you have a burnout arc where he goes bright and then he's gone. I think he started a new character more to his liking. But in any case, talk to him privately and without emotion. Don't be frustrated when you're trying to talk to him. Just really get a feel for what this person is thinking or feeling at the table. The best way with anything is communication. And I think that we all need to communicate around the table. Or online, if that's the case of their gaming group. Communication is the key there. But I think also that you don't want to empower him. I think he mentioned fudging somehow to keep him active. That doesn't sound like it worked out real well. Now talk to him though. On Twitter, we had a tweet from T.R. Dickey who said the argument between Silver Bell and Jay was one of the most amazing bits of roleplaying I've ever heard. Though it did have hints of out-of-character frustration. Crazy. Where did you get that from? No, it was all roleplaying. No frustration at all. It's all in-character frustration. Yeah, that's all it is. I think it's amazing that people talk about it. It speaks to our group strengths that we all actually generally like each other. Wait, you've had some of that with Rie? Yeah. He said out-of-character frustration. She just got real. That you and Tom might have had a problem with each other. Right. But no, we found it out in the backseat ring. She's like a mean right. Throw it down. Yep. Don't worry, K.R., it's all. Yeah, it's all good fun. Our last bit of feedback is from Google+ where Adam M posted and said, "Just finished this episode. It was actually episode one. It was one of the Dresden finals of the episode 175. I didn't mark it down, sorry. But he said, "Just finished this episode and on the ride home thought, huh?" So they were talking cartoons a bit in the episode. Gosh, I bet the Spider Demon man looked like the Titanic twist from the new Scooby-Doo show. And then that put all of the characters in the Scooby-Doo animation. And that led to, man, I bet London has one heck of an Ascot collection. You know that he probably does. I can't even deny it. He probably does. And that's a thought that abruptly brought me back to reality. Nice ride would definitely hang out. He would. You would hang out Friday to see that. Excellent podcast. I started in Numenair and ran through the Dresden up to now. This gets me between my groups once a month game. I'm totally impressed with the longevity of your gaming group. I can only hope that mine ages so gracefully. So he said for that? He called me old. It was really nice way to say it. It was a nice way to call me old. Who said we aged gracefully? A dude in a room. He's never seen us. I don't know. Damn it. He appeared to. I totally did getting family involved and I can't wait to roll some dice with my boys at the table. Our group is in the midst of new families and settling out into bachelor of lives and seems like a perpetual transition. The other great thing about your Dresden world is Cleveland. My wife is from that area so she loved describing the areas and explaining the history of each of them. The haunted subway, the Hannah theater, the market, etc. From what you and she described. I wouldn't be surprised if Alan and Roberto and Ryan F. Nelson weren't actually running around killing vampires and posing in Civil War era camera pictures. You're all the best. Yes, even you, Rachel. But mostly Jim. Tom's all right. Tom's all right. Scott sucks. It seems like progressively worse than it. I'm not even going to mention the rest of you losers. So Monday, when I can continue and finish the story, be well, Cleveland. Thanks for the feedback. Yes, thank you, Adam. I'm glad you enjoy our Cleveland studying. We enjoy it, too, simply because we live here and it's easier. It's easier to invoke both. We enjoy it. An idea in the players' minds and hopefully in the listeners' minds as well since you know the area so you don't have to feign familiarity with something. With that, we are going to next week to give him away another t-shirt. Awesome. Oh, I want to take a moment and thank everybody who's already wished me happy birthday. It's actually tomorrow as we record this, but some of our listeners are, it is tomorrow already. Right. Some of the weirdos. Those who live far away. What happens when you have a worldwide audience, sir? Yes. So thank you all for the wall wishes, and hopefully this sounds okay because new microphones. Yeah, let us know if you can tell a difference in this week. In just the feedback, but the actual episode is on the old bike. Right. Well, there are listeners from 1935 also. It's like a photograph. And with that, we'll get on to the episode. This is the world of darkness story. The Sin Eater. I'm your storyteller Scott. And with us tonight on my right is... Michael playing Ethan Clark. A medical doctor and member of Aegis Kaiduro since 1929. Tom playing Jay Alton. A member of the ascending ones. And leader of this group. I am Jim playing Katie O'Connor. I'm Crazy Driver. And a member of the Amalia Smill for Chrome. Mike playing Michael Play. The academic adventure from Aegis Kaiduro since... And no wonder of consequence. Nice. Since you have to happen. Thomas playing at Guard Montes. If you're doing a practitioner, and a member of the layman's three experience. John playing Daniel Morgan, a mountain man, term mercenary, and X mentor, Task Force Valkyrie. Rachel playing Grace or Silver Bell. Angie. Angry. Teenager. Is she ever not going to be angsty? I can't. I mean... When she's 27 maybe? When she's not. Did she get married? Maybe when I'm not hanging out with you guys. Step one. Alright. So that takes us to our round table regarding aspirations and points thereof. We will start with Rachel and Silver Bell. Has anything changed? I don't know. Would you say middle? No. Then no. Nothing's changed. Still not appreciated. Nope. John says no. No changes. Yeah, I don't think gravity changes either. We didn't really manage to do anything last time. Right. Well, you did manage to do something. You did. We got trained, squirted, bad guys. Well, we managed to... Suppose it's fucking massive in any way. Right. Oh no. It was a highly trained, beautiful operation. I believe I ran into a wall. I believe you said you arrived three seconds before it happens. Go. And then a phone call. To talk in three. So it was really very little time. Mr. Clay. None of my goals have changed. I just have to modify a new short-term goal because... So I finally got... No, I finally got the research to Jay. Sister Katie? Ah, nothing's changed. I do not have the long-term goal because things change to crazily to have one. Okay. Jay? I added a second short-term goal which I'm keeping secret. Excellent. I don't trust you. Sure. And my goals. And my goals/even. Safe children from the shattered man is the long-term. And my short-term research shattered man weakness. I think I may have accomplished that, at least to some degree. Oh, I think... I think actually I gave you two points for the role itself. Oh, that's right. And then you also, two beats, excuse me. Yes. And I think you get another beat for achieving your short-term aspiration. And you might want to call it another one. I have to replace that one and the other ones are secrets. So... That's it. Okay. And as we finished last week, you guys have got to the intersection. Silver Bell had told you that you actually had gone back in time for a very short period. And you needed to act immediately because this is what is going on. And she spelled out. She drew you a very quick verbal picture of what was happening inside the lean-to or the shanty. You were then Jay going to make some type of declaration. Do we have any indication that this is true or do we have a feeling of danger? Something upsetting? No, you have nothing. She says you have nothing. Well, that's what we discussed last time. No, that's true. I'm wondering if the fact that Dr. Clay and Dr. Clark were separated yet tied tenuously through relationships to the time reversal that you say happened. I also have meditative mind and holistic awareness so much. I know what that is now, but meditative mind might. I'm going to, for role-point purposes, say that the two of you that are removed from the situation, the immediate surrounding of the so-called time warping slip. Right. Or the time slip is good too. Have a sense of, did you just read that? You know, kind of, but nothing concrete. It's all absolute because we're just listening on the radio. So I think that we might even realize it might sound like we're hearing the same thing over and over, but not, I don't know if it would really feel deja vu. It would be something along the lines. I would think I'd actually prefer it to be more like deja vu. I mean, you definitely slipped back, but since you're so removed from her proximity-wise, I mean, and plus you both are academics and we're not really part of the scene that they were just taking part in, except over a radio. I don't think we could anticipate that this is the inner possibility. Right. I think it was just like, he starts talking and you're like, did you just say that? He's like, did I just say, you know, like it's just a little bit of a deja vu slash glitch in the matrix. Yeah, glitch in the matrix. You don't know that time is slipped. It's more of a confusion. But then she says, listen, you're going to have to trust me over the, over the comms, right? And then maybe you say that, maybe she is telling the truth. Maybe something did happen because of the deja vu you just experienced. You might be, I guess, more likely to believe her than J-Mite in the same situation, although J seems willing in this particular instance to go with it. Well, I'm willing to go with what she's saying is inside there and going on that assumption that that's what we're going to see. The proof is going to be when we open the door. Right. And if we see somebody standing over a child. Well, then, while you reiterate as best you can paraphrase, because obviously you don't have access to last week's conversation, but go ahead and do that scene again really quick. There's no harm in it. You're going to have to trust me. There is a robed man in there kneeling on the floor. He has a revolver. When we open the door, he runs. There's no way to get to the back entrance from the street without obstacle. The girl is still in there with her mother. We've gone back one minute in time. If I feel like he said we feel, then I might say, "Guys, go with Grace on this one. Go with Grace." Right. Silver Bell gives you the... The rundown. The rundown of what she believes tells you because I'm slipping and she tells you what she thinks. Going around the back is futile. There's someone kneeling by a mirror. He's robed. He has a firearm. A robed middle-aged man. You know specifically it's a man. I know specifically it's a man. Our best two gunmen go to in and go to either side and you go up the middle to grab them if you trust them. Give me the trunk darts back. Okay, we can take them out. All right. Who's going to smash the mirrors? I don't know if he's begun this year or not. I don't know what to do with the mirrors. He could potentially have shattered me and come through while you guys are doing that. You know where the mirrors are? That's fine. All right. Everybody else go after the mirrors. If I lose our best shot other than me, seven does. Yeah, my decks is four, so I can... I can line them if you want. To be fair, our end guard is still high. I am high. So am I. And you have one eye. So maybe you shouldn't be on the fire squad. Trust me, I'll help. I can line them. I may get harder for him to get away. I got a trunk dart that Daniel just gave me. It should take them out. I got you. I got you. But yeah, there's no reason not to. I don't know how many others we have left. I mean, I don't know how fast you can blind him, but... That's fast enough. Let's go. I'm going into the left. Daniel go into the right, turn the freeze, and I'm firing at the trunk dart immediately. I'm going to need to go in first, because if you want me to blind him and step aside, just need to look at him. If I can't see him, I can't do it. Yeah, we're both going in the side and going to the side, so everyone else has a clear view of him. Good. Probably behind Silver Bell, and as he looks trank, I'm going to tackle him. Let's go. Are we going to reroll for initiative? Yes, we'll reroll for initiative since it's a brand new encounter. What is that again? One single ten-sided dice added to... Dexterity plus composure? Yes. There you go. It's a roll again. Can I have them? Okay. Great. 13. Daniel. 15. Edgard? 16. Jay. 16. Jay, you were first initiative wise with Edgard who has the higher dexterity trait. Wait. We're fucking tied. Okay, roll die ten. Yes. Three. Ten. No, Jay is 16. Ten. Edgard is 16. Three, so you don't have to delay your action any sense of the word here. Jay, you... I move in... Everyone moves up into position. Everyone's going... Everybody's moving through this... The chanting. Yes, everybody's moving through this blanket. Okay. You will go first. I'm going to say everyone stationed outside quietly as best they can as they move into position. I would like everyone who's there to make a stealth roll please. Stealth plus dexterity. Does this count as a crowd? Yes. Absolutely. I get a bonus for that. Ooh, nice. I'm glad. I don't think that applies anything. He's trying to lose himself in the crowd. That's a different type of stealth than... I'm sorry. I thought he meant like when there's a bunch of noise around he'd actually grind out. Well, I guess that's another way to look at it. This special thing says "crowd". You get your stealth and you just don't get a bonus for it. Let's go around the table. Everyone roll stealth plus dexterity. If you don't have the skill it's minus one die. I'm going to say that it's also minus one die due to the darkness. What's that? It's 3 a.m. 3 a.m. I've seen it before. No, that's an excellent point. No. You don't have to have the minus one. If she remembers. Yeah. She walked that distance. I think that's fair enough of a roll. Minus one die for the debris in darkness for stealth minus one if you don't have the skill. Otherwise straight up stealth roll. Okay. I'm going to go around the table. You succeed. 3. Okay. I just need to know that. Yeah, that's great. You succeeded well. Katie, did you succeed? Oh yeah. Okay. Edgar, did you succeed? 17 dice. One of those is success. Great. Big man. You do it? Mm-hmm. All right. How many dice did you roll? Wow. Nice work. And seven of them. All right. Everyone moved relatively, quietly and surreptitiously to the outside of the shanty. Now, since we roll for initiative, Jay, you go first. I stand at the door. I give the three, two, one. I'm just slipping through into the side and I'm looking where she described a cloak figure being. If it's there, I immediately fire. I've got a trink round in my, uh, clock. I'm going to say that you're going to need to make a perception check because there is not a lot of ambient light coming into the room and you do not have someone. You're going first. No chew light. Yeah. No one ripped down the. No tackle it on your weapon and no one pulled down the blankets. Like you said, you move inside. So go ahead and what's your dice pull for a perception check? Your perception check is five. Okay. So, um, go ahead. Adding three. Spinning a well. Spinning a well. Okay. Great. I spent a while in the past. It didn't happen. Yeah. It sucks to be in. What a sentence. Although you didn't get shot either. So that's always a big one. Yeah. I figured they both apply. They look like that. You get back the stuff you spent because you can't. Well, yeah, you give back. Yeah. That's a good question. You give back your bullets. Yeah. Sure. If there's no effect on you, it has no effect on you. I had to say that's a really excellent counterpoint and you do not lose the willpower. It's reading standard. You're welcome, Daniel. There are some things you don't know what happened. Yeah. And you will give her no appreciation for it so she could not get that beat. Of course. Jay, you have eight dice. I'm going to say obviously this is something that you've trained and practiced at your entire life. Whatever. You have high and have one eye. You're high and have one eye. I don't believe any of your three box you said, the last three box. No. I've got two lethal. Everything else is clear. Great. But before we said minus two for your eye, I think we're going to stick with that. Okay. And then with the darkness, I'm going to say minus one as well. So I take away, unfortunately, your willpower that you risked, I think it's pretty legit as far as what the consequences for your action. That minus one more because I'm high because I'm still high. No, I'm going to say you've been high for a while and I think you pretty much acclimated yourself. I'm going to do a mellow now. Yeah. You're fine. I'm okay with the eye kind of wearing off of it or, you know, again, you were smoking morphine, which is not how it's done. It was done in the hedge that way. I'm not exactly sure what that would do. Well, in the hedge, it does amazing things. Oh, well, in the hedge. In reality, you know, you're back. But of all people, he would be most experienced at dealing with experience. Actually, I had to damp that down and intentionally not do it. He tried to convince the system to take the high as opposed to, no, we're sorry, but you still got yourself probably a pretty good, pretty good resistance to drugs. In front of you. I'm going to cover pretty quick. Yeah. Yeah. I'm okay with no minus there. So five guys smoking drugs generally goes. It doesn't last nearly as long as other friends. Good point. Right. Two successes. Two successes. You see him, which means when you shoot, there is no negative. Or the darkness. So go ahead. What's your dipole for firing the... Oh, it's a lot more. Yes, I would imagine so. Five dexterity, five firearms, specialty of pistol, a lot of it. He is not close enough to you to get his defense. What's that? It's two for my eye. Oh, thank you. He is not close enough to you to get his defense. I'm trying to snack your hand away if you're doing the shot. He startled. Actually, I do have to make that roll as well to see if he actually is even. Wow. It's quite the man. Yes, he's capable of action. She wasn't lost. Awesome. But just means he's not totally stunned. Right. But he doesn't get his defense. He is crouched down and there is a little bit of cover, things in your way, things hanging. What not? I'm going to give him minus one for his crouch in very, very light cover. We call it barely concealed actually, is the proper terminology in the game. So he's barely concealed minus one. Okay. Right, so there's no minus two, total of three dice, minus go ahead and fire. Eight dice. I'm aiming for the center body mass. Right. So there's no minus for an area that you're aiming for. No trick shots. Straighten the body. One. Success. That's one out of eight. That's very bad. That's statistically improbable. But because it's a trinked dart, it's a whole different story there. You don't need to be doing damage. You don't need to do anything but obviously pierce his armor. He's wearing armor. He's not wearing armor. He's wearing a robe. So if he was, though, that would have prevented a problem, perhaps because the trinked dart probably doesn't have the same damage potential as the bullet, but that's not the case here. It goes through the cloth of his robe. Successural deals only one point of lethal damage, no matter how many successes it were. Each hit also delivers a potent tranquilizer that gives the target a minus one penalty to all rolls. That's it. That's it. Well, if I were to roll more than one fucking success, it would have been more-- Well, hold on. You're given the new rules of-- oh, god, machine, whatever the hell. We do an extra bit of damage based on the gun you shoot. That's now trinked damage, good job. The damage for the Glock is two, so it would be two. He's a minus three. I like the better one they fell asleep. Once the target penalty is tranquilizers equal to a stamina, that's when you can go unconscious. So if his stamina is three points or less, he's unconscious right now. He's unconscious. Well, three points. I'm going to hit him, and I'm going to say that it does three points of damage. He must spend a point of willpower or lose consciousness. I'm going to go ahead and say that he is minus three on all his actions, and-- He's telecoated. Yeah, he has a willpower point, so he's going to spend it. I like the idea of you going in and just taking him out, but unfortunately, it's not going to play that way. So we have Edgard, you are-- I'll wave someone else in, because they want someone else on the firing line, and I'm not strong enough to tackle this man down. OK. Daniel was next. We've seen your tackling ability versus the zombies in children. Daniel. Not him. Oh, yeah. Yes. Daniel, you're up. All right. I go in the right side as instructed, and then make a beeline for him. Pan attempt to? Tackle. Grapple. 2.0. Let's give this a shot. Shall we? It went pretty nice last time, until I hit the wall. You go ahead and make a strength plus brawl roll. What's your dice-- pull for that? I have six. And then it's attracted by his defense, which is the lower of his-- Waits are dexterity, plus athletics. And this gentleman is minus three, and all rolls, not to attributes. He's sleepy. Yes, he is, but it's not to attributes. It's to rolls. Does it say rolls? Does it not? He subtracts three from your dice, pull Daniel, because the lower of his wits plus dexterity is three. He's rather super cool. I see two. My bad. It's two. Okay. So go ahead and make your roll. You've barreled through the-- I was chanting it again. Okay. Go ahead. You may do it since dice have been removed, because this is the new and friendlier roll of darkness. Yes, I'd like to-- Go ahead and mark off your willpower, please, to never be redeemed again. Never. And let's go back in time. Yeah. That's enough. This is a third try. Okay. We got successes this time. No. All right. Two of them. What? Mm-hmm. All right. You tackle him to the ground. One of the times. Sorry. I hope for good. You tackle him to the ground. Nice. Yeah. He was almost there already. The sun was a shortfall. For you, NASA watch. It was like... Oh! It's been timber. But yes, you follow the ground. That takes us to... Grace. Grace. Wait. He did tackle him. He's on the ground now? You think so? You're not inside the shanty, but you hear a... Oof. Okay. Yeah. I kind of picture it as we're all kind of coming in and doing all this effort. Okay. It looks like I'm from each other, right? But it is what it is. I'm all in enough to Grace because I delayed my actual. Right. All right. So you're going to handle the whole smashing of the mirror. That was my plan. Good. Yeah. I'm going to go in and... Okay. Look at him. And I'm going to still line him because... That's what you're told to do. Jay told me to do that, but I think it's more important. It wasn't Jay told me to do that. When you decide to do things, it's my fault. When you decide math to do it. It's also your fault. I think it's more important to rob him of his voice so that he can't give any sort of a name right now. So I'm going to do both. I need to make a roll. Isn't that two actions? Which you're going to do? No. One is an action to turn. No. I can do as long as I spend the war instead of the... Right. You're running out of those, right? Okay. I can add on the facts. Yeah. But yeah. Go ahead. Do your thing? As long as I spend those... So give me your dice full. Just three. Okay. Minus one though, because you don't have a social skill in question? Okay. And his composure... Wait a minute. It's silver, but it doesn't have a social skill. I find it hard to believe. Ha. Ha. It's minus two for his composure. So you're down to a chance die. Oh. Which means really good things can happen or really die. What's a chance die? You need to tend to succeed if your old one is an automatic dramatic failure. That was fun. Can I spend a willpower in it? Yes, she may. It's a guy with three dice. She may. Or you might want to risk it. Cross it out. Well, it's a low dice pull though, Daniel. She might not want to risk it, because she loses everything if she fails. Yeah. It's not your animal. She doesn't pump. It's not only a hunter, it's an animal. No, everyone in the world, Dr. Seth Wilker, you used to get to do really cool things with it. Oh, so they don't have it actually? Fly. You can fly around. You can risk. Which thing? Yes, you got an hour ago. I told you yes. Oh. 1755. Nothing happens. You whisper, you hold your timepiece as you move into the realm. Nothing happens. All right. Edgard, you're up. I step in and none of the mirrors are smashed, so I go about smashing mirrors. Okay. How do you know where the mirrors are? I look for them. Okay. Excellent. Make a perception check. Okay. Do you have any late source at all? Yeah. Do you want to mention that before you came charging in, I would give it, but you were just-- I'm delaying the list for people in. You did? You didn't list people in. Now, you may take this turn to grab the tech light from Chiu. Is this an interesting choice? Maybe you should get it back in the dark. I think it's interesting. You know what I do instead? I rip the blanket off while I come in. There's light. Okay. And in that case, you'll be making a strength plus athletics role. Because it's not just flimsily handled. This is-- Damn dawg. This is-- This is actually about 23 blankets that are put together over there. This is a very well-built slum, sir. You've been here slum dog millionaire? Yes. Right here. I'm not good at those things and they surprise you. It does not surprise me at all. I saw you try to get out of the grapple before it. It was-- Be frankly, it was embarrassing. Slightly better nowadays, but I'm not a lot better. What is your strength plus athletics? Oh, three. Three dice. Okay. It's dark. Huh? It's dark? Yeah, minus three dice because it's dark because Brian said it was okay if I gave those. I'm going to say straight up role, because you're just so manly. I rolled nine. You rolled combined between the three dice? I rolled a singular success. It was nine. Okay. It was like the roof of the shanty falls off because it was just so shuttly built. Yeah. It was good enough. Yeah, there's crazy things falling from the ceiling and some collapsing taking place. But you move into the room. Your action was to pull down the blankets. You then move into the room with your move action. Where do you move to? I don't want to get in the way. The right hand side is pretty empty right now. That sounds safe. All right, so he moves into the right side looking for mirrors. But again, you took a full action to pull down the three seconds. You pulled down and moved in. You're done. The alternative was to bring a flashlight. Which would have taken the same amount of time. But it was more dramatic, I think. You gave us all the flashlight. Good welcome. Taught a man in fish. You don't know what it does. No, actually it's the guy in the robes turn. Oh. Oh, remembering what she did last time. Does she not hear anymore? She was there. He's just cautiously waiting in the back for orders. He just tamed me some again, right? So I spin and pumped like three trunks shots in a chooser. It doesn't move. Don't go anywhere. Don't stay. He's not here. He's watching us. He's winding off. In case he hasn't accomplished. So she did come back in time. Yes. And everything. Everything's fine. He's just out there. And he left him there. How could you store them? He's outside the door tripping balls. What's your strength? It's a four. No, he attempts to break free. Shot. Wow. I had a ten again. See what I'm trying. Yeah, he's trying. Yes, he failed his role. He is still being held. Okay. And that takes us to... Jay. Right? Katie. Come in and splash mirrors with me. So who? I was going to grab the mag light fight and a better idea. Can't they see you know that the things are now? It's three o'clock in the morning, so it is rather dim still. I mean, you could see, yes, but it's dim. I mean, we've been out there in this darkness for a long time. I feel like... True. His eyes... I think the eyes would have adjusted very deal to the outside. But, again, inside an enclosed space with... You do have an opening open now. Yeah, no giant. It's still going to be a little bit darker inside. A literal wall. Right, a whole wall. So yes, but she can see, to some extent. I am moving in to where this grapple is taking place. And I want to see if I can... I'm telling the guy don't move and I'm taking his gun. Alright, you're attempting to remove the gun from him. So... I'm always a big fan of someone joining the grapple. I would say since he has grappled, you may go ahead Katie with a... I'm going to go. They're tussling. There's moving involved. There's punches being thrown. Daniel's still getting his grip. I mean, he's got him in his hold, but he doesn't have him absolutely pinned down. Right. So, I'm going to go ahead with dexterity plus athletics to try to find the gun and remove it from the rogue individual. I have a dice pull up six. Okay, are you minus because of any injuries? Nope. Alright, I'm going to say because you're reaching into a brawl. Minus two dice for the grapple. Okay, go ahead. So, out of four I got a... Ten again, ten again and three successes. Three successes, excellent. You are able to find the revolver and remove it from the pocket of the rogue individual. Alright, it takes us back to Jay. It looks like they have him under control. I move slightly more to the left, which is where the mother and child would be. Yes. The mother is the child sleeping in the back. Oh, okay. Where this brawl is taking place. I'm checking on her. Is she still sleeping? The mom? Yeah. No, she's up and scrambling backwards on her hand, like all that crap thing. Yeah, I try to calm her and screaming. Oh, I try to explain to her the doctor sent us. There was someone in here trying to abduct her child. Everything's under control. Right. Relax. For the doctor and the boss. The doctor sent us. Right. He trusts the doctor. She doesn't know us from shit. I'll go ahead and make a roll. I would say that that would be. Empathy? Oh, yeah. Absolutely. Empathy plus probably your composure, your calmness. And the situation is probably what's going to matter the most. Three and three each. It's total six. Six not minus anything because of injuries. Not minus anything for any other reason. Besides, in fact, she doesn't know you from fucking Adam. If you haven't mentioned a doctor, I was going to give you minus three dice because it's pretty. Yeah. I'm just barging in and ripping things down. And she hasn't even seen these. Very individual. And, you know, you are an African American in 1930s Cleveland and armed. So we're going to go ahead and say minus two dice to help placate her in a situation. So you have a total of four? A total of four. Two success. So she says, "Okay. Okay. Okay." Like she's trying to humble the hyperventilating and she's trying to get in control of the situation. Yeah. I'm explaining that I'm checking on the child and I keep moving but I'm done. Okay. So I don't know if it will last. Why do you think I know the child's name, don't I? So Jay just tells her I'm checking on him. Everything's fine. Stay out of the way. Stay there. So stay. You've been house to house in to crit. Right. You know, you've been places in life where you've had to clear out houses and you've had to hold guns to civilians. And it's your belief that she's calm right the second but you probably have maybe ten seconds or the last before she may change your disposition one way or another. She may be more reassured by your actions or she might both or you know, whatever. I'm just saying you've been as strange before when you're pointing it down. You told someone to calm down. I just don't want you to be too surprised if in several rounds something happens. No, no, I get it. If, you know, if we've got people waving guns around and screaming and yelling she's going to potentially freak out again. Right. Exactly. On your house. Smashing mirrors. That'd be a weird time. Edgard Pass which takes us to Daniel. Daniel, they've changed the rules to grapple now that you're grappled Daniel. So this is when you're grappled so you have grappled him successfully. He has not broken free successfully. Exciting. When grappling each party makes a contested strength plus brawl versus strength plus brawl action on the higher of the two characters initiatives. You go first. He goes second so it's on your initiative but this takes place. So I just roll six dice and then he rolls whatever the hell he can. Right, the winner picks a move from the list below or two moves with an exceptional success. Jim sir. He's my history. I'll roll. Yes he is. He was fine. Because he's tranked. Okay. I like that roll. Yeah. He was able to successfully wet himself. He rolled a one and a two with bodily fluids. He's writing a name. Stop it. There you go. Three. Three successes. You're able to choose one thing. Break free. Control weapon. Damage. I mobilize him. Restrain. That sounds right. You restrain your opponent. It gives him the immobilized tilt. Yeah. I like comping. When you're charging. You can only use this move if you're already succeeded in a hold move. I'm going to go ahead and let you restrain him. Go ahead and he is now officially restrained. Okay. Yeah. Put a lethal injection. All right. You have some of those I think. Dude. All right. No large number. Yeah. You have something. That's my turn. What do you have? What do you restrain him? No. He said I should inject him with something lethal. I have lots of them. Oh. All right. I misunderstood them. Something you can pass it to you. It's too lethal. Yes. Somebody else's turn. First of her foster post and said, I thought we all decided that- what'd you go? I don't know. It's over bow. Keep reading. I can. It's about ours. Skip. I'll be right there. I have to take my medicine. That reminded me. Oh, you'll take your medicine. She needs to take medicine to get through. You can hear me. Take your medicine. It really goes for something. Oh, shit. All right. All right, go ahead. Feedback. We had a- that's a introduction. Feedback. How would you like to do this? There's some feedback, motherfucker. I'd like you to do it. In this week's episode of feedback to everybody, welcome to you. First shot. Here's some feedback, motherfucker. No, it was a- Yeah, that was a shock. It's a fuck us. That. Thanks. Those are amazing. I think you feel like we have to do it now. I'm not going to. The one who led us here. You can't lean that on me. I'm talking about the girl we're about to save. You're the one who told us who it was. With your magic letter. No. I'm throwing that thing away. Okay. Okay. His batteries dying on Farmville in 1930. We had a charger. It's really sad. He's like playing by the little- What was he telling me lies? I had to cry. This is not me. I know him. He rocketed. Let's go along with the change. No, it happened before. His superpower was still alive. That was funny. No, because I remember. We ran through it again. He doesn't have a mission to hurt her. Physically. He left her. Physically. Uh-huh. What is the biggest- What is the continuous theme of my character for the field that you have five years? The field that you defend. Defend children. Was. Have I ever- Yeah. She's an older child. What? Good job. She's an actor. My, what? No. Well, I'm curious. No, go ahead. This isn't for publication. But I think that saying that it's the same as it was or nothing changed, it's not terribly useful. Yeah. I didn't think about it. Yeah, I know. I'd like to do that all the time, but. Right now. Yeah. You should probably go through. It doesn't take that long now. To refresh people's memories. Right. Next time. Long-term aspirations are only worth one beat, correct? Correct. Everything's worth one. Weird. Yeah, you would think you would get- Oh my god. As high as like- Five. Full experience. Right. I mean, give me back to- I think I probably will. Because if you guys get back to- Alive. Yeah. Because we're dead right now. And you don't have like- That's like spoilers. Yeah. Don't change like the- Shit, it's a lost episode. Actually, no. Right. Oh, it's purgatory. Get it right right right. No, it's- No, this is hell. No, this is hell. We're not in purgatory. We're hell. What's the difference between purgatory beats and beats? I don't know that. Actually, practical. I know the answer to that question. Strangely enough. Being the storyteller and all. Practical beats are a group beat. If you're part of a- When you're playing hunter, you're part of a group. And so we did that in the other thing. I- I wasn't a huge fan of it. So they made it optional for this. And I'm just- Dolan out beats laughing right. So how does the word practical relate to group? There is something in hunter called practical experience. And it was practical experience points. We just have a name they used for a group experience point for being a hunter as part of a cell of hunters. Because they couldn't just call a group. They couldn't just call a group. Practical sounds so much better. That was the rationale behind it. You might want to repeat that because we had Buffalo above. And Tom doesn't like Buffalo. Yeah, knowing what we know- Sorry, Buffalo. Actually, I do like Buffalo. It's very tasty. Beef a little. Perhaps a little nice. It's a little sweeter. Jamie? Not as much. Not like deer. Depends on the Buffalo. Okay, that's kind of sound. Yes, whatever it is. What are you doing? Stop. LARPing. Something's going on. I have a favorite mechanic. What was it? Well, but I can't really. Gelly. Going back in the couch? You think I like a drum? Really? Really? Nothing that much noise? That's what they said. Okay. It's fun to do. The one in the very middle with two on either side is- No, you're not going to put North on top, don't bother. I didn't. No, you put East on top. Well, that's because it's- That's the way it works. Let's see. That's the way it's- You're just rebelling against everything, right? I did get to the episode of West Bank related to Matt. Yeah. That's awesome. It's nice. It's a great show. It's great. I like a lot. It's freaking me out. That's why you can't do that. Nothing is where you think it is. Well, there's only one accurate map. Probably. It's called a globe. You can always do so well on a 2D projection. You can try for being high. You didn't tell me to do that. Of course I didn't do that. Everything's moving so slow. Well, that means you shouldn't move faster. Or faster. Good point. Try to tell. Shunning, chilling. What drug was it? Do you have any boxes crossed off your- No, Sister K was very nice and healed me. Yeah, maybe my healing got rid of his drug induced coma. I hope it didn't. I would say the power of- No, yeah. Because then I have no excuse for running directly into a wall last week. Okay. It's the same. It's the same. It's the same. It's the same color. It's the same color. It's the same color. It's the same color. It's the same color. It's the same color. All right. So, yeah, if he was injecting the heroin, it would have been much, much, like, the heroin. Oh, sorry. I went breaking back. I don't think there's any real eyes. It just switched to heroin. Right. I was doing acid. And, uh, yes. Normally, you would then add your weapon damage to that. No, that was a perception. Despite it. Normally, your eyes are so piercing that you can't see him right through him and he crumbles. Why does everyone hate me so much? I don't understand. My pillow catches my tears at night. Where everyone can see them. What about the dark room? We have a sharpness as my friend. Mm-hmm. Bices not running. Well, this is a big screeching halt to the game, so I guess. Why don't we have other people go? Because they would be perhaps, yeah. What do we see? He might be lying out of the ground unconscious right now. Unconscious? I could always go in invisible so he can't see me and start shattering things. Before going out. I thought you were going to blind him. I couldn't do that, too. I actually can't control you to blind him now. But, yeah, I told you it doesn't matter. Just so you know, um, he didn't say that. Right, but if he's already tranked and out, what's the point in? This should be fine. Yeah, this, uh, index. Track rounds. No, right, Thomas. World of Darkness index sucks balls. Flash. Flash. No, he's probably not. Well, I mean, I only have three points this time, though. And he's a flippin' Sasquatch. Oh. Alright, Jay. Yay. What's your dice pull for that? Like 74? No. Squaaaatch. Yeah, very funny. Can we just leave it open to that page for like the next... Why did you get it? Why did you get it closed when I... Mm-hmm. It's 151. Uh-huh. What's this? What's this? Not 151. It moved. This book is really the world of darkness. 1.3.1. Did you write the... You're in the right book. You're in the right book. Alright. Flash. 151. 251. 351. 351. Oh, stop it. Well, it's gonna be a 51. Okay. So he gets minus three as of right. I'm sorry. It is down. You were able to rip the blankets down that were carefully sewn together by this woman. Lovingly. They have so few things in life. And you just destroyed it. It took puddle. Actually is where you threw it when you were down. Inside. They have a puddle in the room. They know. They have to urinate on it. It's just cruel, man. My body is doing whatever it wants. You may now. Smoked morphe. Have you ever done that, Mr. Clay? What's your strength? It's a four. It's nearly five. That's what it says under your strength. Should I get a patch from the doctor? You could have. You've been housed a house in... No, but I mean I did do a child's name. No. You do know a child's name. What is it again? It was Emma. Emma. Emma. For me, it's been three weeks. It's been... Right. It's a lot of squirting going on. Yeah. Not much action. Kicking in room places. Shit. Come on. I lost it. It's 161. It's just the font that poses absolutely horrendous. So it looks like a 51. Prince. Is that the sixth? Yeah. It's sad. Oh my God. That's what I mean. It's legitimately awful. That's... It looks like a sixth to me. I'm used to looking at little kids' hands right now. No. So that's... It's just hoproll through little kids' hands. That's not the best. Yeah, that's not the one you should do. You're a good five, right? Yeah. I can tell it's different. But... Yeah, but you can see how I made this. But I can see how I made this. Yeah, I mean... I can see how I made this. Yeah, I mean... I can see how I made this. But I can see how I made this. Yeah, I mean... I can see how I made this. I can see how I made this. Yeah, I mean... I mean... I mean... They changed the rules to rebel. They call her all that. What? Clots? It's better for you. He's... It's better for you. Oh, okay. Okay, I'll stop complaining now. He's gonna slip like Santa. Wait, how many days do you have? Yeah, exactly. Grappling won't always... Always be fatal.
