The party is split, but this time, not because they want to be. Seems 1930 is going to be a little more accommodating to some members than others.

This world of darkness story, The Sin Eater, was written and run by your storyteller Scott. And now, please enjoy Episode 199, titled "I Need A Lemon" actual play begins 20 minutes 15 seconds. Alright, we'll get to feedback before we start playing Facebook. Episode 196, titled "I Got This Part 2" all Bennett's posted and said "spoiler, I love the line about crashing into the fourth dimension, that needs to be on a t-shirt" And you reached your Patreon goal. I'm looking forward to winning a free t-shirt. Farron Square, no fall play of any kind, not for me. Certainly not any kind of bribery to the postal service to lose the package. I mean, things come missing all the time, right? Which, I will mention, we had a flurry of Patreon contributors, Greg, no ask name given. Greg Anderson, Dave LaPorte, Krah F. Dan and Paul Bennett, who just previously mentioned, all contributed to the Patreon, which put us well over the t-shirt level, which means next week, we will be giving out a t-shirt. And a hearty thank you to all of them for pushing us over this, thank you. What we're going to do is we're going to devise some way to choose someone, we're going to contact them, they get to choose what's written on the back, they can make any sayings they want on there, the front stays about the same. Although we will probably add a WWW, you know, web address on there to make it more relevant or more useful than we currently have it. Nice picture, but a lot of people at the can's went, what's that? Yeah, what's that mean? The web address may help with that. Back to Facebook, episode 197, no signal, or I also bleed. Luke Green posted and said, that's a great twist, what was the twist? Was that the one we discovered we time traveled? It was definitely the discovery of the time travel, because the fact that it was both Cleveland and a different version of Cleveland didn't happen. It didn't happen until 198. What you think is a different version of Cleveland? That's true, we don't have one that is different. It's fine to me. Yes, it's exactly the version of Cleveland you're supposed to be in according to Ethan. So I think it was just to mention that it was a time travel. What would you call it? Component. Sure, composure by now. Steve A la posted under 197 as well and said, I find I'm not a big fan of the world of darkness system. Over the years, I find that I want fewer calculations getting in the way and more control for the players. Fate anyone? But KOTM keeps me interested despite the system that they're playing. I listen more carefully to any rules that are brought up during games that I enjoy and simply listen to the story lines more in the ones I don't. So far I've not been disappointed with any of the campaigns that you've produced. Good work. Excellent. Thank you Steve. With the Ryan Dickey, he posted and said, I love it and Rachel is still as snappy as ever. Love the ending. Ari also weighed in for Rachel and said, oh man Rachel. Scott seems to have handed you a nasty sidearm to it. The boys into, well, whatever silver ball seems to wish for them. Good job and overall it's a really excellent episode with all those twists I didn't anticipate at all. Way to rock the world of pessimists Scott. Thank you. We're going to jump from Facebook. We'll return in a minute but we had a post on KOTM Podcast.com. That's our blog site in which Chris Foster had something to say about the Rachel situation as well. And he said, I hate that my first comment is going to be a negative one but shit happens. I would like to first say that I love Zelda as well as Rachel's contribution to the group. That said, I never thought I'd have a least favorite Night of the Night character. I find myself wishing someone would just leave Silver Bell by the side of the road and drive on without her. Sorry. It is a little bit harsh but this is possibly due to my own gaming experience. I absolutely hate it when a character is introduced into an existing group and becomes the focal point right out of the gate. Even more so I hate it when a new character in an existing campaign gets antagonistic right off the bat and it makes it hard to stay in character. You have to decide if you want to ignore how your character would actually react to the character or let the session degrade into a bunch of infighting and possible dead PCs. It also rubs me the wrong way that she at least appears to be effective and semi-powerful threatening to the Sasquatch and then the hijinks with the wreck. It's a dude, I deserve this name. While the highly trained squad of Hunter peeps appear to be as effective as a wet mop. I'm looking at you, Tony, slash Sister Katie. The episode left me wondering why Jay would put up with Silver Bell, who is at least visibly just a teenage girl that may have put him in his crew in danger and is now being uncooperative. When she refuses to let them inspect the pocket watch, I expected at least someone to just take it and I still don't know why that didn't happen. Then at the end when she said, "With all due respect, I'm not part of your squad." I really want to Jay's next line to be, "Well then you're my prisoner." Then jump to Mike. Track drop. Again, hate to because I like Rachel and hopefully Silver Bell will grow on me, but for now though, I will continue to hope she's left in the woods to be all badass by herself. Thanks for the show guys. Thank you. Well Chris, I think it must be all better right now after you've taken it out like you've got enough of a system. And we don't mind Chris that your first post is. Well I will be negative, but it's not even, I don't think negative. I think he's just expressing how he feels and that's everyone's entitled to their opinion. I will be honest, I sort of agree with some of his comments that Rachel came in and just was the... And I'll be all in doing things that we can't possibly do. Now, I am willing to trust the GM enough and the additional players to go right through the adventure and play it to its conclusion, but exactly. None of those complaints were necessarily unfamiliar to me. Right. I saw that. Oh go ahead Mike. I'm sorry, I was going to say in a way it might be a little bit unfair to Rachel because from my perspective it feels like she's almost been given a task or a role that we don't know and is defined by it. So she's almost like a proxy of the GM or at least she's got parameters that she has to follow and we don't know what those parameters are. Right. So in a way she's already been kind of railroaded. Nor would it be unusual for us to be going into a situation where we don't know what the GM has in store for us or there are things hidden that we don't know about. This whole adventure has been never happening. If you go back and check you'll find that that comes in half. Directly. Speaking as the other new character there was a certain amount of scripting. I mean it has to happen to get you involved in the story. So yeah, that's part of it. Well John is mentioning in the card drive here that Carl maybe it was Thomas. He was talking to me. He makes up stuff. One of you guys were mentioning that there isn't possibly going to be a way for Rachel to join us without joining an adventure that's already in progress. Right. With the exception of this if we play in your system. Right. D&D 5E or something. Similar with Mike. I think for a long time. If you listen to what he said. You're saying a lot of the things might have been tainted by his past experience. That was where I was going to go. I think that this group trusts each other enough to know that well first of all Grace or Silver Bell is a 15 year old girl who's acting all badass shirt. But you guys weren't told you had to accept that. Or I mean you guys reacted the way you reacted to it. She might say she can take you all out or she puts you back in time. But do you have any proof of that? I'd also like to mention the majority of our characters up until the last release. Pretty damn beat up. We were going through hell. And I was thinking that my character would be doing a lot more talking at her and going off at her. But she really just wants to heal and rest and get her head together before she jumps in and starts yelling and screaming. Which she has a little bit. Absolutely. It's been a long fucking night. It's one of the points that I made. You could put down any of our reactions as shock to what's happening. You're in nineteen fucking thirty-five. That's a huge thing. And obviously we haven't really even addressed that as a potential breaking point for a lot of your characters. Realizing the fact that you've just traveled back in time. There's going to be a certain amount of shock to that as well. And I think there's going to be a certain amount of, well, you almost have to put up with her a little bit in the sense that how the fuck did we get back. And if she really is right and she did send us here, well, we can make fun of her or we can bitch slap her down as far as we're tough and we're adults and she's a young kid. But at the same time, how do you get back? And so there has to be a certain amount of respect there for as well. But I think they get back to his overall point. It might be colored a bit because it's just been the very, we've dipped our toe onto the story. You guys don't know a lot about her. You don't know about nineteen thirty-five yet. Don't know why you're here. And I think it'll start to reveal itself more and hopefully it'll grow to enjoy your character a little bit more as the story goes on. I think part of my frustration was that we had a picture in our head of what was going on when we left the last adventure. And some of it doesn't fit this new scenario. And that often happens when you ask someone else to step in and play what was formerly an NPC. Right. Because the GM is going to play it differently and the character's going to have to view it with their own take and make a playable character instead of a two-dimensional creature. But we left the situation where Daniel, John's character, is carrying out a small child that is frightened, thankful to be with you. She was a small child. She was a tween. She was twelve or thirteen. Now she's fifteen. I think you're doing much more editing in your head than I'm telling you. Can you go back and listen to the tween? Because I did go back and listen. And I saw a head. I didn't just hear Daniel talk about it. We had a picture of her as well. There was no way she was a young child. No, you're right. But I'm saying, things that were are no more. It was a radical change. I can't even envision this version of Silver Bell laying her head on Daniel's shoulder and being carried to a car. It just doesn't fit anymore. So there has been a radical change in the character. I think she grew up a little bit frustrating. She grew up a little bit as she left the compound. She gained a few years. Her heart grew three times. Well, but then that might fit into something that we don't know about because she's been cast. Well, that's my point. I mean, besides the age thing, you are making an assumption. She was compliant with Daniel laying her head on his shoulder while he carried her out. Once the three Thai spirits escaped her, different story. He was carrying her, but she had to drop her. She turned around and took care of the spirits. So, yeah, she took care of the spirits. Her picture took care of the spirits. Well, she gave him the answer of what it was that was going to help solve the problem. Cleaning onto him, he drove it away. And now there is this. And again, she did the fact that she has to make the character around and she gave, I think what was your disadvantage? Vice. Suspicious? Suspicious. But I don't know if she would be that suspicious of Daniel. She might be of everyone else. That's believable. So there was a slight disconnect and enough that it was unnerving as a player. But I think we've moved on past that with the recent episodes. We're getting more into a flow and then finally we'll do that. It's just, when I read that, a few of the points were like, okay. Right. I can't remember what it's coming from. She was 12, there were three Thai spirits and now she's 15. It's just simple math. Yeah. Well, I was 16. There could be 16 if you want. Well, look, you can change your character. Let's make it 18. Let's make it 18. Let's make it 18. And your birthday's 11th. 27th and pregnant, all right? Whoa. So, yeah, I mean, a lot of these things do ring true, but I would also say that a lot of the students, also say that a lot of the story is not known. And I respectfully disagree with your interpretation. Thank you. You shot her. I think that she could change her. Once the threat had passed, I think she could change her attitude very quickly. Her father's dead. You shot her. There are zombies. There's dead people all around. You say it wasn't your fault. You were coming in to help her. Okay. But you still shot her. And you still, so anyways, I'm just saying, I can see it, but if you can't, that's okay. We can just agree to disagree. You just shot her with a trunk. I think she would smell. Okay. Oh, yeah. This doesn't count. He's probably 15 feet away with the whole train. Some people would be concerned. Shot with a needle worse. Well, that's just how Jay reacts to things. I'm a sniper. Oh, shoot. All right, then. I don't think we let Rachel express. Do you have any comments on that? I think he's dead on. I think that he's right that we'll grow on. We'll sober about we'll grow on him. And there are reasons that, I mean, she's supposed to be antisocial and antagonistic and severely distressing. And he hit the nail right on the head. And in time, he'll understand why. We locked her on the side of the road. Welcome to 1935. I'm just saying, Sister Katie, if we're leaving people on the side of the road, she might be along. Yeah. All right. Back to the Facebook feedback. We were on 197. We had one more, and this was from Brian Hopple, who said the most recent "Darker Days" podcast had a secret frequency segment, which was about time travel in New York. It screamed in parallel with this episode. Also, I continue to hope that Rachel is playing a mage in secret. More circumstantial evidence is piling up in this episode. A wizard. Oh, yeah. And behind the fact that she just said, "What's amazing?" Probably not. That's a little bit of a weird one. Wounders. Really good life. Or, or. Yeah. That's a great poker face. I'm playing along games. What's up, mage? What's up? What is that? I want to be one. That sounds so cool. All right. Facebook 198, let's not forget the head. Tom Rocket was the only one that posted so far, and he says, "Yeah, kinda are." That was a great line. Which actually was from two episodes ago, but okay. That's right. Can you refresh it for those people who don't know? It was just the end of one of the episodes when she said, "I'm not part of your squad." Right. Kind of are. Right. I like that the time spirits are having another go at the party. Scotch, you surprise me with your jamming style just as one. Shoe is about to fall. You open up another shoe store on top of them. Rachel, well done. Stick to your guns. It wasn't your fault. It was shoes. Cause it was rocket. And yes, let's say that. Oh, yeah. Speed negative about shoes. That's a boogus orange. Why do you have holes? Where's the insulting one? Where's the shoe? We also received an email from feedback@keotnpodcast.com. This was from Wes who said, "Hey, folks. I've been looking to jam a game for ages as I haven't been able to for a decade." Wow. I came across a post on the Justin RPG and being a huge fan of the books, yes, even the dreaded early ones, I took the plunge and I wanted to be as prepared as possible as my group has traditionally been a fan of super crunchy, pure action games, which are not quite my cup of tea. After trying to do some research on how to make sure I know what was going on, I came across your podcasts and I figured I would listen to a few episodes of delivery and get a feel of the system. Through my surprise, I am now hooked. The podcast has become my constant companion during housework, programming at my job, or even watching my 9-month-old daughter. I just finished up delivering and I'm moving on to the second part of Dresden, but I imagine once I'm done I will go back to the world of darkness and the other one-offs. I have to say that editing is king. As my first actual play, I was afraid there would be a lot of talk over each other in jugs and dead air like a real campaign, but thankfully times editing saved the day and the music and sound effects just heightened the already wonderful scene. I can feel myself tensing whenever the party starts arguing about something. Good Lord. For you, it's all the fucking time, man. I'm able to differentiate between the players arguing and the characters arguing. I imagine there's some of that tension at the table too. Never. No. Very rarely actually. Yeah. Some people. It's great acting. It makes for great listening. I can't wait to dig through more of this immense backlog and find out what else you've done. Thanks for making something awesome. Wes. Cool. And then lastly, we have two iTunes reviews. Yes. Two. Thanks for the feedback, Wes. The first was from Rogue Fox 89, Five Stars. Great fun. Is like Fox with two X's? No. Just checking. F O X. It's important. I guess. Great fun and very professional. What can I say that hasn't already been said about this group? They put on a great actual play podcast with stories that span across several RPG systems. The players really get into the mindset of their characters and are not hesitant with the acting out how they would react. While the GM's doing an amazing job of keeping the story moving along without hindrance or supporting the players against their will. Toss in some well timed and appropriate sound effects in the background track. And it's hard not to find yourself painting the scene in your imagination as you listen. The KOTM crew is by far one of the best actual play groups. I've ever had the pleasure to tune in on. And I can honestly say that if you like listening to gamers role play, check them out as there's a little something for every type of role player. Who was that? I guess I would want to listen to. Doesn't it though? That was Rogue Fox 89. So thank you. Yeah, it was nice. Very nice. Nice stuff. Thanks for listening. We also got a 5 star U from Phobologic. Is that with a PH? Yeah, it's with a PH. No double acts either. It's just a PH. Yeah, that's a lot of it. Who said it was an amazing actual play podcast was the title and they said one of the best out there. The editing is awesome in all the sound and music pushed it over the edge to truly amazing. And that's before I even get to the great stories, characters and NPCs. If you're into RPGs, especially Dresden Files/Fate or World of Darkness, definitely check this out. These guys do an amazing job. Thank you. Thank you also Phobologic. Lastly, I just have a quick comment. It's not really a review or anything. Yvonne sent me a message in Facebook and it's actually kind of sad. But we have a fellow podcaster out there. Michael Scott was his name and he unfortunately was walking home to get some dinner and I believe there was a guy who wasn't paying attention to what he was doing. He was drunk and texting, hit a car, skid it off, and hit him while he was walking on his sidewalk, pinned him to a wall and the guy is in the hospital now. Oh, goodness. So he has a campaign out there that is GoFundMe.com. It's getting a lot of action so I'm going to put it on our webpage as well just because, you know, I mean out of the blue this poor guy just got just walking. Just walking. He's just going on dinner. He's doing really well physically. He's recovering very quickly. He has had surgery on his legs, but he's able to move his legs and his feet. So there's hopefully no parallelization. But some of the problems is mental is not recovering quite as fast. Yeah, he got his head banger on as well. So he's making slower progress as far as that goes. But there is progress. He's conscious. He was in a coma for a while. There's a number of posts. There's a page on Facebook where they update his thing and there's GoFundMe as well. And I'll put up links to both of them and we only wish him very well. He's a podcaster. He's a podcaster and we'll do everything we can do. Was he an actual play podcaster? No, he wasn't. It was different on what it was written that Yvonne listened to and he thought, you know, maybe we could give a shout out, which I had to do. Yeah, absolutely. So we wish Michael's got nothing but the best and a quick recovery. Absolutely everything we can. So with that, Sherry Nudge will go to the world of arguments. This is the world of darkness story thusinator and I'm your storyteller Scott with me tonight. On my right is Michael playing Ethan Clark. Tom playing Jay Alton. I'm a member of the ascending ones and leader of this group. Jim playing Katie O'Connor, Nunn and Crazy Driver. Thomas playing Edgard Von Tastes. If we're doing practitioner and a member of the layman stairs. Mike playing Michael Clay, the academic adventure from the Aegis Kydoroo. John playing Daniel Morgan and X Test Force, South Korean member. Rachel playing Grace Rockland or Silver Bell, an apathetic tortured teenager. We haven't had the end of scenes and experience and willpower and other things that we should be having. Sure. Sisticated saying she can't do any benedictions or any healing because she doesn't have any willpower. And they may. Yes. And probably should. That's an excellent point. Jay. What is your virtue? What is your voice? I have two virtues faith and selflessness and I have one vice that is pride. What are you supposed to pick multiple ones? No, no. You have to pay for the second one. Katie. What does my virtue and my vice's rage? Makes perfect sense. Brad. Raise guard, whatever it is. Virtue was helpful, vice is greed. Sort of. My poi. Virtue is prudence. Vice is greed. The greed brothers. Virtue is honest. Vice is in flux. Currently arrogant. That's Daniel. I mean grace. Her virtue is secret. Her vice is hidden. I don't care if they know my vice. My vice is suspicion. Jay. So you have full willpower? No. I've spent one. Okay. And I think in the argument after the crash scene in the ensuing conversation, I think you played your pride vice pretty well by arguing quite a bit with grace. So one point back for a playing vice. Katie, your virtue was faith. Is that religious faith or faith in yourself? Can you kind of tell me exactly what kind of faith that entails? I would say that's a religious faith. I can put my faith in. I have to heart faith that the outcome is going to be good. This is all being done for a reason. This is all God's plan. Right. When you came back to after being placed unconscious after your faith in your driving abilities were obviously misguided in every way. When you were misguided by you do have faith. You received all of your willpower points back at that point. Edgard? What? Your virtue is hopeful? I hope so. I don't think you really had a chance to use your hope phone? No, man. I'm not very hopeful when I'm bleeding out. No. And greed I didn't see played to any greed. I can't really steal shit. Well, I'm bleeding out. Or you can just be greedy about yourself. You know, it could be more than just material wealth. In that instance, I'm going to say none back at this point. As Michael Clay prudence. I was negotiating with Jay about how far we can trust or not trust grace. Right. It's a sense of cautiousness. So I was trying to be prudent about like, "Look, let's not go too deep with her because she's got a lot of mysteries and not answering any questions." Because prudence isn't just cautiousness. It's also saying, "What is the best option? What is the most prudent option?" Two. And I think that by allowing yourself to be taken by a complete stranger to a hotel in Cleveland shows some degree of prudence. And you have really had a chance to act on your greed. Oh, you did try to nab the... I'm not able to physically move and do stuff, but I'm... You're playing very greedy thoughts right now. I would like to get my hands on this watch. Not the least, which A, it appears to be some form of artifact. And B, it seems to be the key to getting us home. And C, I have the ability to trigger artifacts. All right. I'm going to go ahead and say that your prudence was played when you were talking to Jay. All right. It was played to a smaller degree, though, since I gave you your call. Well, far back, how many are you missing currently? I think I used it all. What's your full... Okay, I'm going to give you two back instead of one. Okay. Which would have been your voice, but since it was your virtue, but it wasn't played strongly, I'm going to just houseroll it and say you get two back instead of four. Let's see, Daniel, you are honest in all your dealings that I could tell so far with grace. You have been honest. I haven't seen the arrogance that much come into play yet. Yeah, I don't know about that. Right, so I don't know if the arrogance plays into it, but there was a team where we offered the guns. Yeah, it was kind of an arrogance. It was also, yeah, I think it's honestly played. So, how many will power do you have? I have one remaining five out of five. Okay, you have your full complement of five back. Okay. Grace, your virtue is unnamed and your advice is suspicion. I don't think you really got a chance to play your virtue to a strong point yet. Would you agree? Okay. But I do think you played your buttons quite well. I think you got a lot of time with us. So, you get one willpower point back because of that. And then as far as we haven't gotten very many beats, it's true, but everyone gets a beat at the end of each episode. What's that mean? A beat is an all executive advantage. They're culminating in the work and all fraction of your experience, the two. That's your character. It's fun. Well, this is our, I believe, our fourth session. So, I think everyone gets three beats, one for each of the first three sessions. I think you want to accomplish any of their short-term aspirations. Say so. Michael owns life. Way back in the beginning, I wanted to live my hard truth. So far, this story. Excellent shit. Tister Katie, flipping the van. Except for a real point. Plus, it mean it was a manic failure, too. So, that was fucking awesome. Yeah, it was. Let's say Jay's argument with Grace. They'd saw around mine. These experiences. Yes, four beats equal to one experience point. So, when you get to four, then give yourself an experience point. And then you can spend your periods points on getting things better. Five. Thank you very much, John. E five. You need five of them to get an experience point. Let's see. Ethan, when you walked up and all that confusion and you were this person for other time, that was excellent. Take a beat. Michael Clay and Edgar. Bleeding, hopeless, unconscious characters who did not try to role play more than their situation allowed. Take a beat. It's a cool place to remember things over here. Way to bleed. I'm bringing a lot of beats for that. Does that be they take in addition to the three beats we have? Absolutely. Yeah. Alright. Did you see? Daniel Jefferson. And then actually all in the one and throwing out beats all over the place. Yeah. Can't get a beat. Yeah. I think it counts for more. If someone else knows you're a kinder general or scat then didn't you? Racial tension. Jay, take a beat. Edgar. Are the ratings free profile? Make a beat. Our World of Darkness Challenge this week is getting a room and a hotel. Yes. Yeah. And it's fucking hard. I need some of these to get experience. The enemy is running prejudice. For every five beats it equals one experience. So you now have to set up that one. You have four beats. You should pick some easier as per it. So frustrated conversation with the concierge count. Not quite. I haven't given Daniel a beat yet. I really want to give him one. This was the first question. I've probably gone to a hostage. When you had that tense negotiation with Grace as well. Both of you take a beat. There you go. Yeah, an experience. Alright. There we go. Now we're back in action. Look how happy. Now it starts back in zero and now you have one experience point. You left off last week with everyone running in or in the back of the 35 Ford flatbed. You want to be away through the rural suburbs of southeastern Cleveland and eventually came to a spot where you rounded a bend and saw a city of Cleveland in the distance that looked familiar in some senses but unfamiliar in others with the fact that the skyline actually contained buildings that you were not aware ever existed in Cleveland. Yeah, I would say that would be a fair estimation. You would know that these buildings aren't native to the Cleveland that you know. With the exception of perhaps Ethan who this is the only Cleveland you know. They're certainly not period appropriate. They are completely period appropriate. They look that way but the city was not that big in 35 or something. The city was actually many almost at the apex of its growth in 35 but it did not have anything larger in the skyline. Anything really in the skyline at all dominating besides the terminal tower. Which was a terminus of a rail line. But now you have upwards of six skyscrapers that stretch across the vista of the lake in the distance. You can see the lake in the distance and the city unfolds in front of you. And there are obviously many more skyscrapers than what a current resident Cleveland could ever believe. Some of them taller from the terminal tower. Some of them around the same size. Yes, Michael Clay. I know it's still pretty far in the distance but is there anything about the architecture that we can see that might suggest what style it is? Sure, I mean it is a distance but the city is lit. The buildings are well lit. And even from this distance you can tell that most of the buildings are in the neo-classical style which is a style that's very familiar with downtown Cleveland. I believe it was Daniel Burnham, an architect from Chicago who laid out the overall city plan for Cleveland and he laid it out in a neo-classical style. So the library, the court building, most of the major buildings downtown have it to be designed to them. So there's nothing inacronistic about it. There's no like climbing skyscrapers. Nothing like that. It looks like period-appropriate large skyscrapers. Okay. As soon as I can tear my eyes away from the skyline because that's just stunning. I try to look into the cab and see Grace's reaction. And I'm probably staring at the back of her head. Right. So I tap on the window to get it. I can see no reason why she wouldn't be as surprised as anyone else. Besides the fact she's a teenager. 1930s mystery and some specialty. So she certainly surprised. Okay. So yes. Oh, I'm hoping to see surprise on her face just because that sort of makes a little more sense than her smiling and notting it. But I give her the what the fuck. And I'll shrug with the hands and the pointing at the skyline. When we stop, if we can hear what maybe the names of some of those buildings are, that might give us some clue. Yeah. There is a Rockefeller building in Cleveland. All right. Oh, okay. Two. Do we have to worry about hard access? I don't think so anymore. We need to cause this. Who knows what's going on? Let's see. Oh, man. We'd have to go past. No. Maybe we do. I don't know. We didn't go. Why do we do the time expert? Maybe we will have already done that. That's a good question. But I think we need more information before we can begin this start. You did see Ethan turn around when you wrapped on the glass. And his expression, unless you would like it to be different, Michael, would be one of just like what? Why the hell are you wrapping on the glass? Absolutely. This is downtown Cleveland. This is the city that you moved to. And I'm explaining to Ethan them cities not the way that it was. Were you in the cab? Well, no, you're out in your head. Jesus, they're actually in a cab stuff. We're all stealing it. He's driving for everyone in around the table who money forgotten from last week. We have Ethan and Grace in the cab. Ethan driving Grace sitting in the cab. Everyone else is in the flatbed section with their luggage. This 35 forward is maybe topping out at 35, 40 miles an hour on these rural roads leading Cleveland. But now obviously the sea starting to get closer, coming in on a new clip or something. Yeah, exactly. Well, you're not in the east. You're actually in the southeast, probably more like almost like a Newberg Heights, that kind of area that you're starting to move towards the city in that direction. And as you travel through what would now be, maybe some of the inner ring suburbs of Cleveland, you can see a certain degree of everything looks as if in your mind it is 1935. People are dressed in 1935 garb. The cars, the homes, as you get closer and get more deeply into these inner ring suburbs. There's definitely a sense of destitute maybe, and hand wears on corners. A stark contrast, if you will, to the gleaming city ahead that you're traveling towards all lit up with the night lights. You've got this poverty just spread out before you as you travel now the city streets. And you see garbage strewn on the side of the streets and panhandlers and kids playing, even late at night. The electric lights you'd expect on city streets, many of them are out. You just have a feeling that the city is perhaps going through a very deep depression. Maybe it's, they sunk so much money into building up the down talent, took it away from the surrounding areas. It's also the great depression, isn't it? Who's? I like to work with history. I'm an archeologist and an academic, but most of my stuff is a little bit older than this, but still I do have some academic knowledge of history. If we need someone who's good with this era of history, we've got Ethan in the front. Hey Liz, that's what I meant earlier when I said you guys had your conversation. Yeah. We did not have our conversation. Oh. Okay. Because I would probably try to say, you know, says us all. I'm normal to you. Yes. Seems perfectly natural to me. And there is a sliding glass window that would allow you to talk to some degree. Because again, now you're in the inner city, you're traveling between 20 miles an hour down these streets, and you could actually talk or speak with people in the back of the flatbed if you guys want to do that for conversational purposes. It's probably easier to just wait till we get to our destination then. As we're driving, do we see any flags or symbols of authority, like in a bank or a school or any of the precinct? Sure. There's American flags. Okay. And they see state of Ohio flags that look exactly the same as the state of Ohio flags, the United States flags. Local sports teams look the same as the flag for those. It's actually the same in 1930. No, it doesn't. No. Is it wood in 1930? Okay. Is what I'm saying. For someone who has the history that you have, the archeology. My big question is that there's no Nazi flag flag for many of you. No. Yeah. I was worried about that, but it was dark. You can't call the flags. Actually there is a zeppelin above the city. It's got a spotlight. You imagine that? Yeah. It's more to one of the larger towers. Eventually you make your way down west 25th Street, eventually over one of the bridges that pass over the flat Snake, Iota River. You work your way downtown, in which you now have Cleveland Stadium down by the lake front. Public Square is very green and very beautiful. Look at it still there. Looked up very nicely. Downtown is actually... The square looks square. The square looks square. It looks very nice and well kept. When you passed over the flats, you did see as you looked down one of the bridges and you just looked off the side of the flatbed. You saw lots of lights down in the flats. Encampments, shanty towns. The flats are definitely not the flats that we know of here in the 2000s, but it's something that is definitely inhabited. But again, it's a quick glimpse. You work your way back into downtowns with statues. You know, boss, I was thinking, we could easily get distracted by finding all the things that are different and stick out. We may need to try to focus and stay on topic here. Yeah, we'll talk about it. We're not driving. We're going to have to wait until we stop and we'll talk to Ethan. He's going to be able to give us the best overview of what's going on here. Fair enough. It's nice. And eventually your vehicle pulls up to the front of Hotel Cleveland, where the valet comes out and takes your keys. And because it's 1935, I don't feel funny at all about driving a truckload of people in here. You absolutely do not. And, you know, there's a couple of small sideways lenses, but he's very polite. Yes, sir. Key, sir. Make sure that you speak to the concierge and, you know, kind of gives you the rundown. I mean, he's seen you a couple times at this point because you've been staying at the Hotel Cleveland for a while. Soon, do you all find yourselves in the lobby of a very elegant, there I say posh-looking hotel Cleveland with glass chandeliers and well-eliminated and fine-looking ladies and gentlemen of the era? You all look a bit worse for the wear, and you are approached by a concierge. Mr. Clark, I see you have some, uh, some guests that you brought along to this evening. Some of which look like they may need some more attention than what we're able to offer here at the Hotel Cleveland. How can I help you tonight, sir? Well, obviously, we're going to be needing several additional rooms, good men. That's very fine, sir, but we are booked up with the exception of your room, unfortunately. And, um, several of your other guests may have to look for additional accommodations. So, unfortunately, we're booked up, or booked up. I show them my wallet. Well, actually, twenty or something. Well, I think he means Edgard and I are the wrong caller. I understand what he's saying, but pretending I don't understand what he's saying. You know, if there were, let's say, four individuals that you wanted to share your room with, that would be certainly understandable. If there were one or two that needed to find accommodations elsewhere, I would think that you could arrange something. And where would elsewhere be? I hear that there are some great boarding houses over on Euclid, a little further down towards the eastern half of the downtown area. Failing that is a shanty town to go for all the much. But, you know, we'll gladly accommodate the four extra guests that you have brought here. But, unfortunately, that's the limit of what we can experience here at the Hotel Cleveland. I do apologize. Good thing you heard here. Am I familiar at all with the service entrance, or there's always an elevator that's patting on it? It's like a freight elevator in there. I don't think you've conducted a great deal of reconnaissance of the hotel. I see no reason why you wouldn't be able to find it. I don't think you know off top of your head. But, with five or ten minutes of investigation, that would probably be too much. But you do notice it's impossible not to. There doesn't need to be a perception roll. At this point, probably close to two to three a.m. And it's a weekend, so you have a little bit later of a crowd, but it's a situation where several of the bellboys are looking uncomfortable, and they're talking to each other. You're catching glances from the hotel staff. There's a bar that is still open late in the Hotel Cleveland, and some patrons there that are looking at the scans. At all the, yeah, it's a very different rainbow in the lobby of the Hotel Cleveland. Well, gentlemen, it appears that no longer in Quebec, not a surprise. I don't know the first thing to do about these children. Oh shit, the children. It sounds as a daycareer when you drop them off in. I'm sure they won't have any trouble getting upstairs. Do you think we can discuss it there? Maybe sitting services. Why, of course. Not at 3 a.m. but during normal business hours, we certainly have... It's been interesting to be finished on that beginning tomorrow morning. Very good, sir. Ethan, perhaps these porters can help carry our bags up to your room? Sorry, boss. Okay, I'm going to go with that. Is there any accommodations you can make for help? Yes, sir, of course. Let me make a phone call, please. And the concierge who is back behind the desk and starts making phone calls. And within 10 minutes, he comes back and gives me the boarding house. I'm Euclid Avenue, and it's not more than a mile down the street. You don't have anything here in the hotel? Oh, no, sir, sorry. This is my impression that you were more sophisticated than what you're describing me now. Sir, my sophistication level, I liked the way it was very high. But the sophistication level of the company who owns the hotel fleet when, unfortunately, is not as sophisticated as I would think of myself. I understand. Well, no, but... Thanks, anyway. He tells you that he set up accommodations at Madam Bowery's Hostel, which is just right down the street on Euclid, sir. Certainly, with an easy walk distance for your help. Describe easy walking distance. Roughly a mile. Is the veteran's bridge there now? Yes, it is there. That would be faster and closer to us than... Well, this hotel is right on public square, and Euclid runs right in the public square. So, a mile down Euclid is certainly at least comparable to walking down into the flats through superior and up over the bridge. Alright. Stay in the lobby for about five minutes. Okay. And we take the address from the gentleman. Thank him for his help. Totally. And Edgard and I will step outside. Okay. Right. What are we doing? No, it's that. There seems to be an audible release of air or intention as soon as they walk out of the hotel. Edgard, you have informed me in the passage you have some ability to blend in and not be seen in places, or to be seen in it further than you are. I'm not sure the extent of the help was there, but yeah, also terribly, terribly injured. Yes, which is why that's my first priority is to get you in with the sister who can fix you. So, if you could get yourself back in there and explain to them that I will be waiting behind the building for any attempts that they can to get me inside. Can we have a conversation if it comes down to splitting up? How many of you want to go elsewhere and how many are staying here or you can stay all together and leave me here? Also remind folks that we have two pets. Two pets. Fuckin' a towel. Strangely enough. That's probably less of a problem. Yeah. I'm also thinking that we don't want these two off by themselves because what if they get rouseded so maybe one of someone else has to be with them too. To help by the bad story. Well, they're not going to be able to haul up all of them, like anyway, they've been shot, so I'll go out there. I'd suggest staying all together. It's probably the best plan if we can manage that, even though it's going to be a little complicated. Each and every one of you are going to stand out one way or another. So, is anybody interested in going up to my room while I look for a back way in? Okay, hold on a minute. I'm trying to figure out what skills to use. That isn't listed under each other. I thought you actually had a supernatural power to do that. I talked to some spirits, right? Mm-hmm. They hang out. It's great. Sometimes they do what I ask them to. I don't fucking remember one of the skills I used. What's more, we're now in the past, does he know any spirits here? I sure just don't know any spirits here. I'm not going to call up Jim Bob Pordon, whoever the fuck that is. First off, to do this, I'm going to need an appeasement. We have Daniel Morgan coming out. This has to watch. I need a lemon. How many lemons do we need? I'm going to go into the bar and have it ready. Patty, I'm going to go get lemons. Anybody care to join me, we can have a little discussion. Over the bar? Yeah, people. Well, you think you've barely stabilized me, but... Gene, I'm going to have trouble getting going into the bar. I need a drink. I'm not really interested. I'm too young, sorry. Not in the thirties, eat together. Yeah, I'm not sure about that. A presence plus expression. I fucking suck at it. So, this isn't a good plan. This is not the best plan in the current state. I could try it. Let's start stating at the beginning of the plan rather than when we're turning into a picnic area. If this is not a good plan, then let's scrap it entirely before it's not a very good plan. It's not a very good plan. Stating in would be far easier. Okay. If Daniel Morgan comes out, I say that we had a plan to get a garden, but I'm not sure it's going to work. We need to get the sister to work on him to get him in a better condition. Also, Michael Clay. You should probably be welcome at the boarding house. But I think Michael Clay is a much easier prospect because you guys are in the same hotel. Uh-huh. I can get him to the boarding house, but I need someone else to bring the sister there. The locked boarding house. I'm not sure you can walk at all. But yes, we can get there. Is anyone capable of driving that truck? Yeah. That's me too. Yes, actually I am... Pre-driver clutch? Not a bad driver. Well, you might have to avoid cops when they see a black man driving. Even with the times, they just kicked us out of a hotel. Was that what that was about? No, it was because I was bleeding all over their carpet. I don't think it's illegal for me to own a car. I think it's illegal for me to own a car in a high society white hotel. They don't want me there. Right, no. I don't want it to be where I belong. Either we're going to walk down the street and I'm going to take that car there or... You're welcome to take the truck for you. If you need to transport someone who probably would be better off in hospital right now. Ethan, do you know any private practice doctors? I haven't been here all that long myself but I can certainly inquire. Where do you take someone who's been injured on premises? Yeah, it is someone who is much like yourself. Then we take them to a injury in hospital right off of 25th or Metro Hospital. Otherwise. Which is further up. If that's not the case, then there's some smaller clinics that are open during the day be more in tune with... What you're looking for? Zudun. Jesus, man. I'm not going to be able to help anybody in the toilet in a night's crest anyways. You know, click this is a terminus for a underground railroad. There were some sympathies here. Some? None of those hotel. None of those hotel. That's fancy. I'll tell you how it comes. Jay and Edgard, are you walking the distance to the... Or is there going to be some shenanigans to get you into this? No, I'm borrowing this character. We have actually a character picture of a 1935 Ford flatbed. And I'm driving it to the pre-arranged address on the... Without a ton of role-playing, but just to get... I have one driving and a dexterity of 50. Nothing like that. And I ain't going sisters. When you walk outside the... You know, the... Um, ballet. I'm sorry, I can't get you. I would probably leave... You know that he's doing that and go out with him and sing. And then I bring the truck along. Right. Are you certain? Mr. Ethan? Why, of course, sir. He carries on once he gets the look from you. Steely. Right. And he goes and gets the vehicle, which is then brought to the forefront of the hotel. It is now three o'clock in the morning in this new, bright, beautiful downtown Cleveland. And Jay, you hop into the cab. It is one of those... It's obviously a manual. There's four of those long, long poles. He has an out of it. Most of the military vehicles are manual. Right exactly, so you're well versed in this. Or in the floor. I think they call it. There you go. And at Garda, you kind of limp and crawl your way into that front cab as well. As far as being wounded in our group decides myself. I think, these two guys are the most wounded. And Garda is very wounded. Michael Playa is very wounded. And I believe that's the extent of the grievous injuries. We're tired. The kids are banged up, but they're okay. I have all but two slots open. I am taking fatigue damage, whatever the hell, on my dice rolls. Look. So you're wounded too. Yeah. As to whether or not they are the only two. Yeah. It's not quite the case. Is it bashing? No. Please look. Yeah. I got jumped out of a flaming building. I landed head first in a storm. It's just bashing clear. So we're real easy. Is it just Jay and I got out of that is going, that are going to the boarding house? I don't think we should split up. I don't want to. I can't see any hijinks getting them in there though. Help entrance to this. Anyway, before we go, if you're helping me get the car. I got no money to pay these people. My money is like in plastic. It's right. I give him a sort of... What's plastic? You know like a twenty, a band, a five, a couple of things. Right. The whole room will work for a little while. It's a lot of money back then. So you drive down Euclid. Do I find that I'm quite weary? I'd like to get the rest of us settled. The rest of you staying here? In the hotel Cleveland? Yeah. I'm going wherever there's medical facilities. After. Or am I waiting here in the hotel for her, for the sister to be here? Before that, Lee, we should have an agreement to meet somewhere tomorrow. Maytradique, we call it... It's not like we're going to call you. What hospital did you say? This gentleman? Lutheran, I think. Lutheran West is a fine choice, right? Okay. That's nearby. It is. West 25th. I imagine there's one very nearby because we're right in the middle of downtown. Yes. So, sure enough, you do realize though that usually there are papers involved in... You have been in America long enough. You didn't want to go to the hospital to realize that the hospital may be something that raises some reflex. As long as he doesn't pay for the funny money, I don't know. They don't really have a whole lot of checking IDs and shit like that. It's not that hard to say. If you've got cash up front, I think he's okay. Correct. I'm just guessing. You're right. I don't want to go to the hospital. I was saying I need medical care more than we have the capability unless it's magic. That's all I'm saying. Actually, can't I work on in more to do more than... It's just a statewide hotel. I saw it. I saw it. It could work on any more if you had facilities to do so. But you, I mean, unless you arrange for something on the black market, you don't have medical facilities to use because you're not a practicing doctor in the States. That's very 30s gangster. To hang out in a hotel, wounded, waiting to get patched up. So I'm okay hanging out in the hotel. You brought my foot over and everything. He's looking good. I'm liking this time period. Not for, not for some reason. It's like the same. It's been a blast. I think maybe we should go to the hospital. I mean, I can go with you to smooth it. But I'm going to generate more questions than we can handle right now. I don't know the candy talks. You pay cash up front. They're going to help you. We'll take it real quick to Jay and Edgard who pull into a parking lot. Do we leave our equipment with them? No, I have my duffel bag when you have yours. But the equipment equipment was carried up to Dr. Ethan's room. Madam Bowery is at the front desk. Red hair, short, squat, overweight. Yeah, I was trying to pop you over there. I was trying to pop you over there. Damn it. But no, I wish. Right. She's behind the counter. And when she comes in, she looks at you too. Yes. Can I help you two gentlemen this morning? We just got into town. We're looking for a room. We were referred to you from Cleveland. Hopefully you went in. The kinds of years his name was Royce. Of course it was. With a gravelly voice in her smoker's cough, she muttered something about Royce sending her... Burke, his cast-offs, and says, "Sure enough, boy. His room 212 up the stairs. No visitors. No food. No drink. Check out times 10 a.m. Have a nice night." This fucking sucks. And it does fucking suck. We're allowed in. It's a boarding house. If that's hiring, no, it fucking sucks. In ramshackle, when you get to your room, there's two mattresses that are really, you know, like an inch thick as that. It kind of like cots placed onto metal... Almost like padded with bed bugs. Right. No, I'm sure there's the exact figure. You're looking at it and you're going, "Oh my God." But they go, "This place is nasty." You get to walk in and stay up at the ground, secure the motherboard. There's one mirror. There's a bathroom, which is something it leaves. All right. I set Edgard up so that he's as comfortable as it can possibly be because he's about to fall over. Yeah. He's exhausted. Such as in water. Check his bandages. I have medical training now. So, make sure he's okay. That stuff bleeding a while now. We'll get some rest. That helps. Go through my stuff. Take a clock. Tuck it in the back. Cover it up. And then I'm going to go out on the streets for a bit. I'm okay. Looking for trouble. Mm-hmm. That takes us from Jay to the rest of the party, which is Daniel and Grace and Michael and Ethan and Katie. And you're in the hotel lobby still at this point. I believe someone went to the bar. Ethan might have went to the bar. If you're going to follow him in for a nightcap. And he says his exhaust is going to head up to his room. We're also talking about potentially getting Michael into a hospital. So... I say, I don't want to go to the hospital. Ethan, just patch me up enough to give me through tonight. And then once we talk to Jay, we'll figure out what's next. As you wish, can we get two additional rooms? Actually, Ethan, we do have two extra rooms that just became available. Surprise. Mm-hmm. We can set you up with that. So, he sets you up with now three rooms, your own, and two others. It's like four. It could be anyone you want to hold fucking hotels empty. [laughter] It's like five other rooms. [laughter] Okay, so tomorrow we're going to have to find some little ground between these hotels. It's mostly a game. It might be something... It's not too picky that's a little more livable. I'm pretty sure I can get them in. They want to be here. I think we've had enough excitement for one day. I don't know if you're playing with all of a sudden, but just one night won't be too bad. It's already three. Sleep each other. We know better, Dan. I don't crumble off the bed. I don't have a room now. Yeah, if you have a room that I'm assuming you're going to be sharing with Michael Clay. Yes. And I would assume the girls, Sister Katie, and Grace will be sharing a room. Okay. And the children as well. Where are the kids? There. You know, we'll tell a lot of you looking terrified and... Jesus. Very uncomfortable. Nice day. We got a lot in upstairs. They have to stay in the vans. So right now they're in the van with... The trucks, excuse me. Oh, Jay will solve that problem real quick. Mm-hmm. I'm going to take two bolts. Well, you have only had so many. Yeah. Just use a knife. Here you can borrow mine. Well, I can take the kids back to my room and I'm assuming they're so exhausted they're going to pass out at least for six hours or so. Oh. Now people are complaining that they're hungry and they're scared and they want their mommy in. And then they want service. There's only a bunch of eggs and toast and juice. Alright. So you get to bed by closer before with the kids. Everywhere else can sleep from the night unless they've got something more pressing to do. Only when you have anything more pressing to do? No. No. I don't know. I might go check on the kids actually. I don't think I'm going to sleep before I go check on them. Okay. They are in the room with Ethan. So there's a tap on your door. Which you would soon is room service but it's actually before when service arrives and it's crazy. Come in. Just want to check on the kids. I mean they were and I knew them. Yes, you did. Yeah. There should be an hungry and the food's out of its way. When they see you they at first are more educated in the sense of... Great. Great. Where's our mommy? We want to go home. This man says we have to stay here. And that's kind of their attitude. But after you talk to them and play Kate then explain to them that things have changed in mommy and daddy or something. Mommy and daddy are away right now and that they wanted you to watch over them. You basically just comfort them. Right. And then they're much more sedate for when the food arrives and eventually they fall asleep at that point. Okay. So Jay, we'll take it to you. And your mom brings about the downtown streets of Cleveland. I'm looking for someone who would know how to hatch up some injuries in a location that wouldn't be monitored by anyone. They would accept someone like Montes. I have street-wise. That's going to be definitely true. And I would say... We'll go wits. That's also true. So we're talking a total of four so far. I am going to rest. You might not want to risk before you give off the penalties for being back in fucking time. I understand there will be a big penalty for back in time. But I can do this. Well, I could argue that that would be canceled up by the fact that you're back in time and there's a lot more. It's also a different universe so we don't know what's... I don't know. Who knows? There's a lot more fuzzy things going on. I'd be free to think. You can do it. You can do it. You can do it. You can do it. And then you can give me some more for that. 1935, New Deal. Alright. What's the minus? So the minuses are actually not so much for the color of your skin because downtown Cleveland does have in this area. I am on the east side. Yeah. My out to the east here in your neck of the woods. There are a lot of... Well, there's a police presence to be sure. And the streets do have vagrants. But they're not to the degree you saw when you crossed over the bridge. It over the flats and you saw the shanty towns. So there's a couple of barrels inside the street because it's a normal summer now. It's not a hot summer. So it's a cooler night. There's a couple of large oil barrels that might have small fires in them. And there's a group of men that are sitting around it talking. And they have little tin cups of watered down coffee that they're drinking. And so there's certainly a presence on the street of a more... I'm definitely looking for shady types. Yeah. There'll be more amenable to speaking to an F... Well, in this case it was probably Negro. That is one of my favorites. It's colored well. I don't think it's colored Negro or African American. Well, yeah, somewhere between Negro and colored. Yeah, I don't think it's Negro on a good day. Go ahead and make your roll. It's more the fact that you have to find the right person than the color of your skin. Right. So I'm going to subtract two dice for the time and then you make that roll. Okay. Now, now we need to get to add... Right. The other one I'm going to choose is three for a... Like success. No, I'm going to go nine again. Nine again? Okay. Three successes? Three successes. Two of them are nine and a zero. So you need to roll those two over again. And that's another nine and a spinner which turns out to be two. So four successes and roll again. Come on, yes, another nine. Five successes? Five successes. Five successes. And that's it. Five successes gives me an exceptional success in addition to... Yes, ma'am? I'm sorry. What are you rolling for? I'm looking for someone who would be able to take me to... Or connect me with someone who has access to like an underground. Whether they can handle gunshot wounds and they're not going to really question. And that's where we can go tomorrow in addition to taking a taste. Right. That's probably one of every street. And then... Well, then you could have access to medical equipment is my point. You think you could do more there than you could in any hospital? Well played. Thank you. Yes. The name you get is Marty Collins. Okay. And he is in Chantitown, right in the flats area, very close to a place. A local landmark called Jackass Hill. My favorite hill. Mm-hmm. Marty Collins. If you can't do it, he can probably point me to someone who can. That's right. Chantitown is a great place to look. I know there's a guy that knew a guy that got fixed up by someone named Collins. And he thinks for a while it comes up to the first name Marty. It says that the Chantitowns, the police don't go in there too often. They're dangerous. There's a lot of desperation. There's a lot of good people there, but there's a lot of desperation as well. And there's a black market undercurrent to the whole group of Chantitowns that fill up the flats. It's not just like one Chantitown. There's several different ones with different flavors or different personalities. And he thinks that might be the place to start looking anyways. If you're willing to deal with danger. I flip a lot of dime. Does he jerk like does that seem like it's too much? I have no idea. Like Jay has no clue what it would be. Right. No, he looks at it and he pockets it. I guess so. I guess about right. He doesn't jump up and hug you and he doesn't spit on it and toss it in the sewer. That's what you find out. You call it night at that point? I had it back. Yeah, I had back and get some rest. Okay. I'm pretty sure I got things under control. Besides a couple of fisticuffs and during the night, there's a noise basically. There's some fights and drunken brawls. People are getting thrown out. The police show up at a certain point during the evening, but you just stay sequestered in your room. It was just, I wanted to take care of Montes and the others. And I think I see a plan now to do that. Maybe I just wanted to make sure that maybe I could still operate in this environment. Okay. I got that. I thought you were going to buy some drugs or anything else. No, no. I had back. You're also trained in military and you had already superior military person compared to what would have been standard then. Everyone sleeps well for the night. Nothing's anything happening that I need to know about anymore. At this point, everyone's just living for the night. When you awake in the morning, I would assume you guys are going down to the breakfast area of the hotel to have breakfast. Yes. Do we need healing back for sleeping through the night? I believe you have bashing, yes. Do you have bashing? It's all gone. Yeah. If it's lethal, you need to be in an hospital or someplace that it takes days and days. It doesn't just take one day. I calculate in mind, I have to be laid up for five weeks. Excellent. That's why it's just okay that he's going to help us in. I'm not sure it is. I'm sure it is. I've got to wait until we look at it and it's going to come for any better. One second. We were everyone's talking. There's Michael, otherwise not as Ethan, can you go ahead and repeat that, please? Is there anything I can do for Michael Clay? Yeah, I'm stabilizing him overnight. Does he have bullets in him? No, I have bullets in him. Luckily, he was wearing a Kevlar vest. The impact of the rifle, the sniper shot, actually to your thoughts, probably shattered, or at least cracked, some ribs. There's probably some internal bleeding there as well, but not enough to be of a danger where it was going to get toxic and he needed to be rushed in. He seemed to stabilize at a certain point and he was like, "He can walk around. He's moving very slowly. He's walking with pronounced limbs." There's definitely bruising throughout his upper extremities into his neck area even from that massive impact they took from the rifle shot. Major contusions, recitations, blood force, trauma. He just looks like without knowing he'd been shot, he would look you like he... Car accident. He got into a car accident? I wasn't a car accident, I'm sorry. Absolutely, he got the living shit. I love that way. In a vista cuffs, but bodyless. Well, I give him like a 3/4 dose of morphine to help him sleep. Lucky dick. So, are you going to try to come down for breakfast? Or... I don't think I really could move. If I don't have to, I'm not moving. When you get downstairs to breakfast with, I'm assuming Grace and the two children. Daniel and Sister Katie, the person behind the desk, the morning clerk, gives you a quick wave. When you come to the counter, he says, "I, um, believe you checked in some guests last night into other rooms, uh, Mr. Clark. And I know you're a valued guest here at Hotel Cleveland. And one of the gentlemen received a telegraph. And I wanted to make sure that I don't know your party. I didn't get a chance to meet them last night and they came in. My apologies. But, you said my regards to Mr. Clay. And he hands you an envelope that you know is a telegram. And it's sealed. And it has Michael Clay, one public square, Hotel Cleveland. And Cleveland, Ohio, 4-4-1-2, as the address. And that's on the front of the envelope. And it's sealed. And of course, you know who Michael Clay is from reading that last night. Thank you, sir. Put it in the inside pocket of my suit coat. All right. And you continue on to breakfast at that point. That's odd. It's pretty odd. I get up in the morning, let the dogs take a little bit of a walk, go out and get breakfast for Montez and I and something for the dogs. Tie them back in the back of the bed. Right. Give them something to eat. Feed Montez and then we're going to have to get going, uh, meet up with the rest. I think I may have some plan to get you guys healed. I ask the morning. It was the morning clerk. Okay. There's a desk clerk, which is the morning desk clerk. There's a concierge who handles like special requests and set things up and does things. And there's several of them throughout the day that are there 24 hours. I ask them for the name of a place that's a little more high quality but has a more liberal policy as far as who they serve and the way of hotels. They also need a babysitter for today, possibly. He chuckles at the term, he thinks it's British and he's like, uh, we do have a wet nurse and a full-time nanny on staff if that's something you would like us to employ. Nanny should do. All right. Jimmy will ask him to call over to said brother so we can arrange where we're going to meet since we have no way of communicating. Yeah, you do not actually set up a meeting place in the morning. If you guys come up with an idea, I'll walk over there no problem. I'm not going to tell him where to go. He tells you that there is the Hotel Sylvester Pool, which is off of 25th in Detroit, which is known for its more liberal, I guess, policies. It caters mostly to the Eastern European clientele but also has some allowances for people of color. Great. Thank you very much. I'm going to assume that at this point it's probably eight o'clock in the, well, maybe even nine o'clock will say because you guys had a rock night and you would beat up. Most of them, not even necessarily, but the kids kept you up high for something like snoring and crying and waking up and doing whatever it is. Well, I asked for him to make a call to the other wherever they're staying. What was the name of the match? Um, that was Madame Barry's hostel. I asked him to call the hostel and give a message for who's the driver. He's Jay. He's taken aback. Your friend's must have came in length and he makes a call and sure enough, eventually a knock on your door from a bellhop at... Yeah, a bellhop? They have one bellhop and he is a shattered-looking son of a bitch. I asked him to show up at 10 in front of the hotel Cleveland with the truck and we'll be together. You get that message somewhere. That seems to be the going right. Well, let's see. Yeah, I was going to tip him a nickel. You got a tip. That's a big tip. You're always a tip. We're not staying here twice. So you treat people like shit as long as you're leaving them behind? That's a fucking time. It's not my money. I give them a nickel. He gave me 10s. Yeah. I'm rich. I'm fucking rich. How'd you break that 10 by the way? I gave you a 20, a 10, a 5, and a half full of shingles. Right, you've got the most of that bar. We broke a single amount of bars. It's like two-month squeezes. Good stuff. These are rich. I don't know how to call them. Yeah, really. Some of your croissants are all right. So we kick out. Breakfast is raucous at the hotel Cleveland for its guests. So I'm sure everyone eats well. Ours is from a dive down the street. I hope you like greasy eggs. Right. Don't tell me about my breakfast. Oh, you're all right. I have breakfast because you're still at even your hotel room. Room service? Most crazy eggs. Oh, you're dialing up room service? Well, I arranged that when he doesn't show up for breakfast. I assume that he wants to eat in my sense. Well, I was thinking Danny would tell you. You know, Daniel told you. It's good for the herd this morning. Yeah. Okay. So breakfast is sent up to the room. I'm up like quarter to 10 before meeting time. I go up there and see, you know, what we want to do with them. If he needs anything, another shot. Keep this way out. No shots. I have, I've got some mental exercises that should block the pain. And I'm definitely afraid of morphine. Yeah. Don't use any morphine or addictive opiates on me pal. All right. And like I have a choice. Do you maintain anything else down or no? No. Just ask if he wants to join us. I tell him what's going on at 10 o'clock. We're going to meet him. Perhaps move. Oh. Yeah. That's why I'm here. I'll show him the letter. Yeah, I'll tell him. A telegraph for me. How could that be? That's a great question. Who doesn't have an address? I can't. All right. And I open it up. It does not have a return address. OK. It just has your name on it. It seems like the yellow paper, the detail type. Absolutely. How did I have more time this afternoon? I would have actually made it. Maybe I'll make it for next week. Sure. It says... Michael Clyde. Stop. That's actually how it starts. Why have you arrived safely? Stop. Make yourself at home. Stop. I'll be in contact shortly. Stop. Don't take it afterwards. Stop. Sign. We didn't even have to sign it. I knew exactly where it was from. Binary. Is that the word "asswords"? You know exactly who it was sent from. No. And that's a wrap. That's something I had her consent telegraphs into the past. Parallel world. You hacked the time stream. It was me. It's got a spotlight. Do you imagine that? Oh, just, yeah. It's more to one of the larger towers. There was one tonight. And so, yeah. It's 1930. Yeah, there wouldn't be Nancy Flaggs in here. It's 1934. Well, actually, it's 1935, and there could be Nancy Flagg. So, Nancy Flagg probably exists. But, yeah, there's no big major. Also, who knows what the hell is going on. Hitler is in real war. He's the chancellor. He is the chancellor of Germany in 1935. And I read a book about just how much Germany had in culture in America during that time, but that's an idiot for that stuff. Anyway, it might come in handy. You never know. Oh, dear. Just say Clay, right? What's that? Just say Clay, right? Oh, yeah. He's an academic. Look, he's better rather than Mike is. Oh, absolutely. You're careful right now than you. Well, I hope so. Um, sure. That's actually a 35 thing in the soldiers and sailors' mind. I mean, is there? I don't know if you're intentionally leaving it out. No, no, it's there. It's absolutely there. And if it was there, I thought that was actually a World War II, not a World War I monument. But it must be one. It was World War I, but I didn't know when they put it up. Right. So, it is there. Are you sure everyone, if you want, if you want to pass along, your picture will post it online for the fans as well. To be able to be on a commission, that kind of shit. It doesn't just pop in the business. Yeah. I just want everyone to get Jimmy Jack. Neither draw. I don't even know what that is. Right. Since of the who's cow. What? This is not the ulcer I go outside. I know. I've tried to think of all the thirties. Slaying or whatever. Yeah. I've tried to blend in. Roger. You've exceeded my level. Straight to the bottom of the barrel there. Alright. If you could make them give me a lemon, that should be easy. Lemon's a common fancy places pet. At the bar. Yeah, at the bar. Which is why I was glad there was a bar. Plus the kitchen. You want me to go to the bar and get you a lemon? Wait, wait, wait. You have no way of communicating with them now. We stepped outside. I'm not more so. So skip. I'm not watching no bar to give me a lemon. Give me a lemon. I think what's happening is we have. They might not serve you. You could be there. You could be there. 17 years old. Yeah. That's an adult in the nose. I think they would actually let you drink. Really? Yeah. And smoke a cigarette. It's all for something. Great. And raise children in Mary. Stop it. [laughing] Uh, presents plus expression. Hey, that was behind seven stories. Yeah, well, that's where the darkness is. Ah, I fucking suck at it. You never used to have a lemon. Oh, so yeah. We are one lemon richer. Definitely could be a lemon. If this is not a good plan, then let's scrap it entirely before we go chasing lemons. I don't know what that means, but it sounds vaguely racial. You know, Cleveland is a terminus for a underground railroad. There was some sympathies here. Some? None of those hotel. None of those hotel. None of those fancy high-end hotel. Which gives ads as far north as you can go. [laughing] You may. Go across the lake to Canada. Keep going. [laughing] So you have a rock star in the water, Bill. I can stop. [laughing] I'm sorry that's great. Scott. [laughing] [clearing throat] I can't fucking read. Thank you. Virtues. Jesus. He's pointed it out like I don't know. Is Vice Anger? No, that's me. Oh, okay. Edgar is not particularly angry. It's greedy. God. And clearly. You hope or you help. Hope. Oh, sorry. Helpful. I was trying. It's a good thought. It's a good thought. Maybe it should be. I feel better about myself than that. Hopeful. Okay, helpful, hopeful. She just loved your beats. Well, your dad was right. I was very remiss on handing them out because-- Well, because those are the words I used. Yes. Pleasure Miss. He was quite remiss. No, it was quite. Fine. Farm Bill minus 1B. Oh, well, it's too bad. I'm playing Farm Bill. It's Sean the Sheep or something. I don't know. No, no. It's actually a show. Sean the Sheep. No. It's really a show, actually. You were watching? No, but I watched the original Walts and Grommets. Oh, Walts and Grommets. That's good stuff. Okay. Needless. It's in blue ink, bottom left hand corner. I see it. Cool beans. It's pretty much that 1935 lingo, man. Yeah. This could be fantastic. Okay. That's fucking-- Our aspirations for this week is to find a place to sleep. Sleep. Sleep. One of my returning Walts has experienced unique situations. Yeah, sleeping in a morning house. The sky would have changed for my virtue to helpful. It all works better. Oh, hell, the mispronunciation actually ends up being-- I'm helpful to be here. Exactly. Especially here. This time. There ain't exactly a lot of hope to be had in the past where I'm racially profiled against. They'll expect you to help a lot. I know. Fucking well. Branch rate, differ-- Wow. Really? Def. Appreciate it. Thanks for making something off. Awesome. I was at office. Thank you. No, that's the bridge bridge. Okay. I can't turn that off. No, I can't. That would be bad. Be right there. That's important.
