(upbeat music) - Hello and welcome to the Knights of the Night actual play podcast. This Dresden Fowl Story Rituals is written in run by Jim Tom. And now please enjoy episode 180 titled Bring That Guy's Juice Down Here. Actual play begins six minutes. (upbeat music) - We have a little bit of feedback before we get started with the episode. First off on Facebook, Kyle Hurd, said hey guys, I don't know if there's something screwed on but just recently, for some reason, episode 26 is not available on iTunes anymore. I was going back and re-listening to the catalog again and it went from sister Katie is about to run over to someone to chew investigating a blood-soaked crime scene. - I think you just thought I'd let you know. - Well, I sent him a link so that he could directly download it but I don't know the reason that it's missing and I explained that our tech department would look into it and Kyle said yeah, tell Mike to get the let out. (laughing) And he did follow up with a post to say, oh, and you guys are awesome, so, yeah, we're awesome. - And the tech department did respond. Turn it on and off again, you'll be fine, thank you. Other than that, the only action we had on Facebook was the post of the Warden's Soul Pendant which got a lot of actions. A lot of people seem to enjoy that. My plan said nice. How do we get about stuffing Ryan Nelson into it? - The only room for one person, and that's Mickey King. - You don't want to share? - No, not with Ryan Nelson. - You can shove it into Ryan Nelson. - You can bunk with him. - Nope. - We could straight-place him with Ryan Nelson. - Yeah, that was a picture. - This is not one. - Like his soul goes into your-- - I'm similar. - Thing, and you go to his body. - That's the picture that-- - I don't want to-- - Did you see Rachel? - That's pretty. - It was a handsome bastard. - What was it? - What was the number of the episode that was unavailable? - It was episode 26 but it's kind of weird and then our numbering got off where it was the actual podcast episode was 25 but it was the 26th episode of-- - But do you have the reverse? - Well, I might, but I know for one thing that we lost the first two episodes and we combined them as a review of the first one and it threw everything off and we stopped that numbering convention eventually. Our tech department is working on it. They said turn it off and out again. With that, we only have one other item and that's a iTunes review from KOTN Forever spelled with threes instead of E's. Don't fault me. Wow, it was the title of it. And I was cruising iTunes looking for a podcast on New Manera when I stumbled upon your recording. I'm definitely impressed. After listening to the first recording, I said to myself, "Why in the hell "did you not find this awesome podcast sooner?" Thanks for the great role playing in tons of laughs. I have to admit that I wish you could have stayed in the New Manera setting forever. But I understand that you have to keep moving forward. Regardless, thanks for all the fun and keep up the great work. We may be returning to New Manera. - Yeah. - I think that we pleased that individual to know that we're gonna probably be returning to New Manera and maybe after the next World Darkness or perhaps. So we're gonna wrap up this particular Dresden starter. We're gonna go back to World of Darkness and then potentially to New Manera. - New Manera, right. - Although by then, maybe-- - No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. - I will all just talk more. - So 2016 or so. - Yeah, you're not trying to pick me up. - But why don't you guys at least try it once? - You gotta love to hate it. - Just kick it at home. - Maybe they-- - But yeah. - They changed things drastically there. - More-- - I don't think that our point that it takes half a year to get through something. - Wait for the first couple of reviews and then inside? - No. First of all, they're putting on a free, like, the free version that you can test. - PDF. - Yeah, PDF. You don't have to purchase that in it. Put the price. - Probably. - 50 bucks a piece for each book. There's three books, it's $150. - Well, you could-- - That just seems really high to me. - Well, some people are only going to buy that. - What about ebooks? Are they doing it to-- - Yeah, look what they're doing, PDFs. - They definitely had a band to get started for a while, but I don't know if there was any on it. - Well, I don't know if you saw it or not, but you know how they had the open license, which in three, five, which-- - Yeah, they're not doing that with five, are they? - They're going back to the open license because they realized they pissed everyone off and they went to 4.0 and closed the license and its publishers couldn't write for them and it really narrowed down the scope of what they were able to provide. - I didn't really see that company. - They want to go back to paying writers, you know, pennies per word to go create their adventures versus trying to keep someone on staff to generate content. - And plus-- - Have fun over there. - Leads good to goodwill in the community. - Sure. - If you have a third party PDFs that are out there. So, anyways, I-- - What has any product removed features and taken away freedom and openness and gotten a positive result out of it? - And D&D is such a starter in your system, you know? People that are just getting into it, that's the default. - Yeah, it's still a lot of it, right. It's got great brand, the branding is really good. - Yeah, everybody's heard of that. - For it, so, but yeah, they learned their lesson from 3.5 because once they closed it, what became the second most popular system in the world, some would say the first was Pathfinder really fought them because everyone enjoyed the 3.5 rules and didn't enjoy the board. - That's the reason I think they're going to keep an open license model because Pathfinder kind of ate their lunch. - Well, Pathfinder ate their lunch because really because of the internal business decision is that wizards made. - They backed away. - I think that they looked in the mirror and said, well, we really screwed the pooch on that one and decided to move forward. - All right, with that, that is the feedback. Thanks, everyone, that's using the Amazon link. We appreciate that and we're going to go right into the adventure. My name is Tom, I'm running the stress and foul story ritual and the player's here tonight, starting on my right. I'm Michael, playing Ruppa, and theogenic, organic alchemist. - I'm Rachel, playing Zelda, an American gypsy who uses the lore for past to construct the future. - I am Jim. I'm playing Edmund Shavalski, who is a rich business man and a black, white-colored cyan. - I am Scott, playing London Deals, a moral seer to the supernatural powers. I'm Mike, playing Alan Montgomery, a soul-sundered warden. - Bob, playing Steven Telman, a reporter, and a photographer who would do anything to get the story. - Thomas, playing Maxwell Edison and undercover homeland security operative. - John, playing Roberto Martinez, people's very hard by fun. - Let's start with the fact that you can all make adjustments to your character. You can move the skill up or down. You could add a rename and aspect or some other things you can do. Everybody's going to do refresh as well because we ended at a point that was, so we had a skill? - That's a good cost of a skill point. - You have skill points to spend? - He does. - You can move one off the bottoms and move one in. - Right. - You can take one down one and then add one at level one. Sure, you can do that. You can't wreck your supporting skills, but you can add in your skills. - What a weird system it is. - I kinda like it. - I like it, it's just, okay, nobody's doing any adjustments to their character. - I moved craftsmanship to zero and to seat up to one. - The seat? - The seat, the seat. So I can lie about my job. Not that it's ever come up. - I've made an aspect where I don't have a shit thing about magic. - So that I can get points next time I fuck up. - Okay. (laughing) - Good enough, oh God. - It is okay, look, I think you don't expect of your character. - Mm-hmm. - There's no doubt about that. - And the award in Zelda are at your building. - The Browns, the Browns. - Your house. - I would probably be there as well. I think that's what I'm hoping for the knives. - Fuck these guys, they're crazy. - No. - Oh, probably. - Yeah. - Actually, this is a good point. (laughing) - Fuck these guys, in general. - Okay, so where is Steven? Roberto is at his home with Brother Francis. - He's blessing. - Your mother and sister are there. - Maxwell went home to write reports. - Yay. - Advent. - You have returned with Repa, back to your restaurant, as they're doing. - For a brief moment, I opened it and pointed my compass so they could use it as part of their spiritual. - I was kind of stepped in a follow way behind it. - No, I stayed right at the entrance because they could see it once I came in. - 'Cause it's a scaredy cat, he wouldn't know. - No, I am not a scaredy cat. I just don't risk my life unless it's absolutely necessary. - I wasn't going to turn myself into a demon and save Maxwell and Steven. - I just don't recklessly, I eat Roberto. I don't recklessly put myself into danger's way. - I guess I would be able to London's maybe analyzing that photograph a little more, that I took of the ritual circle. - It's a fairly large brownstone, so I'm sure I have enough guest rooms to accommodate. Or at least to pull out couch in a den or something if-- - Come on, not to sleep. - 'Cause I've got the guest room, so. - Right, I think I have two guest rooms and likes in one and-- - I'm saying you guys are sharing a room. - No, if you're wearing your robe, I'm totally on your window. (laughing) Man, just 'cause a man dresses nice, wears some cologne and knows what clothes I say. - I'm sure I can wear something. - Right, that's what you want in common. - But that still leaves you up and admin is doing what? Once you do reconnaissance over you, then just go home. - Cologne home? - Yeah. - Okay, so we'll focus on Roberto. Brother Francis is in your home. He wants to know what he's blessing your home against. generic blessing here, or are you looking for something worth specific? - I don't know. - What's six or four? - Would you like the advance package? - Here's our menu. He wants to know what he's protecting it against because if it's, it's your mother's home. There's a built-in protection just there. - Yeah, there's some suspects on the wall. - Right, your mother-- - Bring that guy's just down here. - Your mother is a very religious person that there's a threshold in here, right, that's pretty well established. He can boost it with some blessings, but he doesn't know what he's going against here. What are you afraid of? - The creatures you're warning me of, the denarians. - If you're concerned about the denarians, then he's telling you that what he can do in a short time, like an evening, isn't gonna stop them. It might slow them, but as in slow them a minute or two, not an hour, but it won't stop them. - I tell them that all he can do will be enough and that as long as he's here with me, I don't really fear for my family to serve to. - Right, so the Vlasas house power is gonna give it a plus two bonus, but he's telling you that the denarians-- - They sneeze a plus two? - That's gonna be a speed bone. - Okay, well, I have your number. If anything should happen, I think this will slow them down enough for me to protect my family. - Okay, so he does that and he does the blessing. Your mother's a little, well, she's happy because she's a religious person and she's glad that this gentleman is here in Blessing the House. She's a little concerned on why you think it's necessary and she is still bothering you about the whereabouts of your father. - I tell her that my friend who is able to track him down has another job at the time, so at this current moment, I'm trying to help him resolve his issues so that he can help me find dead. Right now, where I mean another problem, we have to sort out. I'd love to try to search for him, but the guy who can help me insists this is more important. And I seem to agree with him. There's been murders recently that I'm helping him search for answers. - So your father could be dead? - He's not among-- - The missing? - Yes, he is. - I'm on the corpses. - I hope not, but I mean-- - If he's involved with this, we'll find him that much quicker. I hope the guy is not. And I don't see any connections so far. - Okay. - She is a bit upset and how well did you modify her? - Did you, but that's a-- - Modification is not mine. - What's your score? - Dammit, mom! (laughing) - Shut the hell up. - I will scare you into some-- - Yeah, I think we're talking a rapport role. Actually, she's your mother, she trusts you. I would say, though, that she's still worried about it, so we're talking, you would need at least a fair rapport here. - Okay. - That's a big point for me. - Dig down deep and find some tact. - Yeah. (laughing) - So what's-- - I have the people's guardians. I don't let them deal with this sort of thing. I try to put myself between that. - Got enough. - She takes it up to a fair, and then she seems calm enough to then calm your sister, and then the evening-- - Contusion on all that sort. - After the brother is done blessing the house, which takes a good hour, he then starts to work on your air quotes sword that you wanted it blessed as well. - Let's take my fake item. - Well, it's not that issued that it's a fake item, it's the fact that you're able to plus one, and his conviction is one of his strong points. It's blessing, it's four, yeah. So that takes it up to a superb blessing. - Problem with that is we actually look at this weapon that you have passed Hellfire through, what would be the most powerful burst of Hellfire that you would have put through this? Would you ever exceeded five as far as the level of fire you put through here? - So what he tells you is after spending a good amount of time trying to bless this, that for some reason, it's not sticking. He's concerned about the fact that it's not sticking. - It just hasn't happened before? - Well, how much usually blessing an inanimate object is not a problem. - That's really weird, I don't think, at this hammer came from a stockpile of other cold-forged items. We don't have anything particularly abnormal about this. - He killed some gnarly shit with swords. - So he has no explanation for this, but your hammer is being resistant. - Have you ever had this happen with any other weapon before? - This could have been something that I have killed, the ghouls perhaps, or-- - He looks hard. - Of a wizard, as if he's considering that, as he explained last week, he has a collection of items, and he's had some things that were more reluctant than other to absorb a blessing, but he's never been able to, he's never had trouble with it to the point where he hasn't eventually been able to. - Maybe I'll ask the warden what's up with it. - Yeah, he's-- - Though, I don't know if I concern his guidance. - He's concerned, and suggests maybe that you find another hammer if this was-- - Do you know any magical authorities in town? - Are you asking him, the warden Allen? - Yeah, but he tells me I can't even use my magic. - Well, perhaps you're using it wrong. - He kills things. - If you use a gun wrong, I don't see other than endangering yourself how you-- Okay, look, why would you believe I could use magic wrong? - Well, there's different types of magic. I mean, obviously, his whole job is to determine whether or not people are using magic wrong. That's like his job description, is it not? - I don't know. (laughs) - This is the job of a lot of people, yeah, that's-- - Perhaps you need to talk to your friend a little more thoroughly and understand what he does for a living. - You can trust him? - Do I trust him? I haven't seen a reason not to, but I also trust you. We have fought together, and him, I don't know him as well as you, but I know-- - With the previous warden or anything? - Previous warden, I knew him a little, but he was a troubled man. - Okay, well, I'll talk to him, but we'll see how that goes. - Okay, I wish he could help you more. - Okay, thank you. And that's it for the night, I guess. - Okay, you go to bed, everyone else is resting unless someone else is-- - Well, I stay up for the night, actually. I wanna be awake, too. - Okay. - Did we have any other material that needed analysis? - I know we have the-- - That worked, the demon's blood. I don't know if we ever did anything with that. - Does anybody recall that? - Looking for some night work. - Anything else that he used to be analyzed? - He did, of course. - There's some of the artifacts that we collected from the circle with me. - And he, uh-- - I picked out some of his meal everywhere, some hand weapons, right? - He's got some hand weapons that he picked up from the restaurant. - He spent a few-- - I don't think he's, yeah, you did, but I don't think he's delivered him to you. - Right. - He has them. - If you phone me up, I'm staying up all night, so I could run him over. - I just catch up with you the next day. I'm just going, catching up with some business and going to bed and calling it a day. - If nobody's got anything else to do, the night passes relatively calmly. - Roberto, give me a roll of-- - Alertness? - Yes. (tapping) I rolled four, great. - So, in Roberto, rolling alertness of great, what you get is roughly five o'clocker. It's getting on towards six o'clock. It's very early in the morning, you get a little blip on the radar. - Of the vision of the special-- - The power that I've been given recently? - It's obviously very far away and very faint, but it's a little blip as if it either came within range in an extreme or you believe that the reason it went off of your range last time is it converted back to human. - It's stuffed using the right power zone. - Right. - Okay, so we must have accessed them for a second or been nearby relatively. - No, it was very, very faint, so it was either a great distance away or-- - Okay, well, I'm not about to go after a blip that just disappeared. - I didn't say disappeared, I said it just popped up. - Oh, then I'm keeping an eye on it. I'm not leaving a house because that would be leaving it open to somebody who might just be standing in my backyard not using the powers. - Okay, and it just hovers on the far range of your perception, but it's definitely there. And it time passes until the rest of you wake up, whatever hour that would be. - Well, some of us might be doing things. I think Zelda is researching and I was planning to do some research as well. - Okay, so what do you guys do in the night? - You can go first, Zelda. - Yeah, I'm still researching, probably trying to figure out the things that I don't know still. - Okay, where are you focusing the research on? You were going through the parapets. - Yeah, I'm probably still looking around the parent and trying to get more information about Rey and Leon. Let's see if anyone knows anything else. We don't know about Leon. All we know is that he lost his right arm. I don't know what his power was, so I'm still trying to figure that out. - And then researching Leon in the beginning, what you found out that what seemed to be a friend of his was right, which you also know is not Rey Barnes, and that it's not likely that you'll be able to contact him and find any information about Leon. Well, maybe one of your friends has a power with contact in the end or the dead, but in doing research on the website, you don't really see anyone else that identifies as a friend of Leon's, although they do mention that he was part of a parent on the east side. So you think you might be able to do some research into that, and after doing it for a while, you find like two east side groups that seem to be led by people that you may be able to contact. - Okay, do I know the names of those decide groups? - Well, they don't have names for say, but the person's name on the bulletin board is Dee Porfer. - Okay, so Dee Porter is on one of the groups? - Not just in one of the groups, but apparently kind of like that parent it's leader. If they're having, I get together, it's going to be at their house. They're the ones that kind of say, we're going to meet next Wednesday type of thing. - I'm doing empty quarters. - You bring the main dish and you bring the side dish. - Does Dee Porter post on the site when their meetings are going to be on that? - Yes, yes. - Okay. But I think I'd probably want to go and check one of those out and get a hold of them. - Okay, the other one of the side, Kay Newman. And also the same thing that they seem to be the leader of that particular parent that they set up the meetings. And up the two, the Newman group seems to be meeting sooner. As in tomorrow evening, as opposed to the other group which isn't meeting till four or five days from now. You have a login and you can post and it also has private messages you can send to people. And you are a member of this board. You do have a login. - So it's a message board where you can put a private message to the person. - Okay, then I would definitely ask. - To both? - No, no, no, no, just to. Well, yeah, I'd probably send a message out to Porter just to see if he owns anything. - This would be a quicker word, didn't it? - Kind of thing. - No, no, Twitter's dead. - For Newman, my message would be different though I'd probably tell him that I'm planning on coming by. Let him know if that's okay. - Okay. - I want to just surprise everyone by showing up and then talking about their dead, you know, friends, sorry. - And this research we're doing is late at night. So they're gonna get the message probably next time they log in and yeah. - So I'm just gonna keep checking back every like five minutes to see if anyone. - Refresh. - Refresh, yeah. - Refresh. - That's fine. - Is it a four-year fall asleep at the table? - I once been a little bit of time with researching the Denarian demons, wondering if there is one that is considered the leader or the strongest in the war of the Denarians because I am obviously gonna be not very useful in a shootout in physical combat but being able to mimic what Denarian would be useful for me. So anything has to do with mannerisms, behavior, names, hierarchy of ranking, any of that would be useful for London to do a little bit of late night research as I sit some soothing green tea and get ready for. - If you remember, I heard when I was still disembodied as a soul, a third voice that said ordiol. - Yeah, ordiol is definitely something I'd like to see it is that one of the Denarians that is known, et cetera. So I'm just basically spending a couple hours maybe from midnight until two a.m., something like that, doing Denarian research and then calling it a night. - Okay, you spend about a half an hour, 45 minutes doing research on the web and you realize that you're hitting stuff but it's just nonsense rather than true information. In your frustration, you get up and go to get another cup of tea and run into Stephen who's doing, what is it, Stephen? Oh, you're looking over your picture and trying to interpret it in different ways to see if you pull any additional information. - Yeah, I want to analyze the photograph. - And you guys get into a bit of a discussion about your equal frustrations. He's not apparently finding anymore out of this and you're frustrated and you're finding nothing but silly children talking about the supernatural on the web when he informs you that he probably knows of places to research that are a little off the beaten path. That I don't know that you typically do you're more of a social person face to face. - Yeah, sure. - So he may know of some situations that are locations websites that you don't. - Well, I would absolutely be appreciative and thankful if he could pass those along to me if you don't mind. - Sure, yeah, I can hear you some stuff. 'Cause that's demon that I took the appearance of was just, it was based off of what I was looking at at the time. I want more information. I need something a bit grander to be able to imitate. So if you think there's something out there, please let me know. And something he does and then I go back to research from that point. - Yeah, one of the things is he likes to get pictures of the supernatural and post them. So he knows of repositories that have more legitimate research. So let's see how helpful he could be. What would research would be scholarship? - Okay. - You could go with contacts, whatever's better for you, Bob? - Oh, scholarship. - Okay. - So that's in order to give him a maneuver. - Out scholarship, a great. - Nice. - Oh yeah, that's a minus one. So it brings it down to good. So that's not very helpful. - No, that is helpful. I thought, right? That's helpful, I was like. - Yeah, in this case, you just need to hit good. - Yeah, that's pretty good. So that'll give you a plus two on your role. And yeah, you could use scholarship. - One in scholarship business thing, but war is something that he's very good at. Sussing out, I don't know if that's applicable here, but usually when we're talking about the supernatural, we make a lower role. - Yeah, that's fine. - In the right direction. - Yeah, Steven pointed him in the right direction. And then you-- - You have scholarship, but this is not fair. - You are sifting through what you're seeing and giving it credence on whether it is valid or not based on your law skills. - Sure. - Okay. - The higher you get on the latter, the more information I'll give you. You want to get at least good to get something. - No, you don't want to roll any minuses. - Information is power. What was your first role? - Oh, this is a, well, it was a minus two on my first role, which is just very unwanted ask. So we went with the second role, which was a wash. And my lore is great. I'm going to, well, I am the seer of the supernatural powers. I mean, that's what I do. So I'm going to spend one more to take it from great to fantastic. And please note, I still am two mental down, one from changing the appearance. So his hammer still looks like a sword and he still looks like someone else. - Okay. - A bodyguard in Edmond's employ. So anyways, fantastic as well. - You nailed this one. - No. - No. - He's had a rough go. Even I won't push him over the edge. - Okay, you got to roll a fantastic. And with that, you definitely get some decent information. - First and foremost, you get the understanding of what the denarians actually are. And that is that they are fallen angels that are linked specifically to the coins paid to Judas for betraying Christ. - Right. - So there are 30 of them. And each one inhabits a coin and is linked to it. So you do get that information. Fantastic is enough to get you. There is in fact a leader of most of the deniers. - Yes, but there seems to be a split in the faction. There are actually two groups. So there are two leaders. - Okay. - There is information that tells you about the main leader and the fact that he does a lot to hide his actual pain and who he is and Mary is and what he is leader of. So you get vague indications and hints. - Yes, would you get something like a, not like a big description that like he is the whatever of whatever instead of his real name? Like they refer to one as this because nobody knows what his name is. - Or as you just have it just refers to like he or it. - Yeah, I mean, you get the impression that it is a key that leads the main group and what was once originally the only group and that it is since split and that the leader of the split faction is female. So you've got that much information. - So the name is Zelda. - Mm-hmm. - No, okay, just checking. - So the female is a picture of the demon seems to be something along the lines of a praying mantis looking creature. - That's the female? - That seems to be the female. - And she's the rebel. - Yes, fish. - Yes. - Splinter and no picture of the leader leader. - The hero must not be the leader? - No, it seems that he is much more cautious or vigilant about removing that it would possibly get you information but it would require something better than a fantastic, which is pretty impressive. - Right, anything I'm ordeal. - I'm gonna say that requires a separate role because you were first going into the beginning and you were attempting just to get any knowledge you could on the denarians and you did. - I'm in a system with that since I'm not doing it. I'm gonna do some research on that on some of the sites. - At this point I pull the laptop out and we're sitting on the kitchen. - You find research a little more interesting than yours because you've been staring at this picture for an hour and you're just not pulling any additional information up and through. - And it might be the fact that it's kind of, it's kind of past tense as far as the situation. It's a picture of the warden in his mine trap state and yeah it had other things in the background. - I took a picture of the ritual circle, okay. - I do think the warden was photobombing it though. - He totally was. - He actually wanted this one. - Do you remember those were burrowing that picture? - I don't know who wants to take lead on this. - Well, can I let him take lead on this because his scholarship is stronger than my lore. So he knows these sites better. So it would probably be me more indicating what I'm looking for more or wise. Or if you need me to make it scholarship because that's what he's doing, I understand. I mean, I'll make a scholarship role if I have to, but otherwise-- - No, it doesn't have to be you. It could be either one of you. So if you want to let Stephen take point and he takes up the laptop. - But I want to assist him. - Okay, then you can-- - Do I have to use the same-- - I think you're stronger in lore now, you know. - You have a stronger lore, absolutely. - That's a world of darkness. - Okay. - Yeah, you can use more to try to set up an advantage for him. And... - Wow. - Rachel touched these sites and he sucked a nice book. - Yeah, sure, that's it. - It's all worthwhile. - I will the minus two, which could be from a great down to a fair. So my descriptions aren't really doing anything. - Yeah, you're not being very helpful. He's trying to be helpful, but he's really annoying you because he's listening. - Dude, I want to show you this website back to fuck off. - Give me some more Zima, whatever. - Zima. - That would be glad that would be fun. - That is like, that is hurtful. That is absolutely hurtful. It's like a dagger to the heart. - Oh. (laughs) - Zima. All right, I have a great scholarship. - It works. - That's how you roll. - Oh, there it is. It's epic. - Wow. - It's like the world of three. - That is impressive. - Plus seven in total. - Okay, so you do in fact find information on the name Ordial. And that is the name of a fallen demon. - Well, what's an angel? Sorry, I fall on demon would be good, I guess. A fallen angel that is associated with the coins. It has mentioned of two other demons that are often associated with the name Ordial, the Vartial, V-A-R-T-H-I-E-L. You got two note takers, maybe three, I don't know. - One is 'cause this is my research, so I'm having some stuff done. - And Tarsial, T-A-R-S-I-E-L. - These guys are, they hang out. - Their names are often mentioned together and the other buds, yeah. They are often mentioned together. There is a description of Vartial and it pretty much matches the one that you've gone toe to toe with. Large, ape-like, slash spider combination. - The one in the building that we saw? - That was Vartial? - Yes. - And the other one, Tarsial, what is his appearance? - That one speaks of a ram-like creature with feline ram-cat? - Yeah, it's kind of like a ram-cat. That is Tarsial, like, Vartial is the ape spider. - Ordial, there's no mention of what? You're looking at history of demons and in many of the stories, it would be a mention of Vartial. It was kind of like the lead character in the story. - The head was Vartial, though. - Not the head as much as the main character of the particular story. - Story, you've got it. - There doesn't seem to be a ranking in between these three demons. But in multiple stories, there's mention of the three and Ordial is always like this background character that's there and it's never important enough to get a true mention. - Any possibility that they kind of, anywhere in there, it mentioned which faction they're leaning towards? - No, because the information that Steven was able to find is so far back in the past where this new riff that London found out about seems to be very current. - The picture of ram-cat? - There is a picture, but it's a drawing. It's not really a picture. - That's all I need. - Right. - These are aliases for them. They're not their true names. - As Mike pointed out. - It's yet to hear the name. - Right, it's the written version of their name and it's not gonna bestow any power on you by using it. - Right. - Now, oh, sorry, do you have anything else to eat? - No, the possible exception to that is Ordial because the Warden Allen actually heard that name being said. So that might be the difference there. - Plus, that's kind of my jig too. If you want me to roll to see if I heard it well enough to use it that way because I was in the middle of-- - What would you like to use for that? Are you talking now lower? - Maybe. - Actually, I was thinking more of a probably alertness. Alertness is passive. - Well, I had to let going on. That's all I'm saying. If you wanted to make it harder, if you wanted to make it more, make it harder, I'm looking for a justification for what skill you want to use and that's a valid one, so go ahead. You said alertness, I said yes. - Positive two on the alertness, which would take it up to superb. Alertness was just-- - Yeah, you're pretty sure that you have the name. - Okay. - It's sufficient enough to actually use it as a tapable last week. - We would know that. - Or a weakness or a bend. - It's good to think about that. - Just to clarify, we found out where Ryan Nelson is at. To the best of our knowledge. - Ryan fucking. - Ryan, sorry. One is slipping into a clock in the morning. - Della. - College in many zimos. - Yeah. Dude. - You hear that from the room. - There's no sleeping in. - Ryan, fuck. - Right, so we know where Ryan fucking Nelson is now, based on the report from Repa and you have a general idea. They have a reading and take on it from the mystical realm. They could probably lead you pretty close to the street in the area and your compass might do the rest or, you know. It's snag auction. They weren't standing outside the house taking down the address. They were looking in another dimension at the same location. - Right. - In a more metaphorical sense, as opposed to-- - Exactly. - Or symbolic sense, maybe. - Correct. - I think I can do it again, if we need to coordinate that and get the exact GPS location in real world. - Well, unfortunately, as the dawn breaks, so does your tracking spell. - Right. - What about illusions? - What about-- - I'm holding them up. - The illusion. - The illusion, the sword that's a mallet. - They would probably need refreshing as well. - I'm maintaining the minus two. - By refreshing, I mean, you have to go to the warden and yeah, recap it. - Well, I want to text everyone to meet at Tommy's for breakfast. - Steven gets so pissed. You know, you're running up his bill and he's got this track from him. - He's standing right here. Why are you texting? - Well, yeah, I don't know if his number would really be in to be honest with him. But I want to make sure that we hit together for breakfast a month. - What I want to know is what we talked about was Zelda using her power because she can actually influence the future. What we want to do is we want to weaken Ryan fucking Nelson so we can take him out with a surgical strike. - One of the things that Zelda discussed with me, well, actually, that was probably Rachel. - My God. - I actually had to be able to talk to Zelda yet, was that she thought it would be important before she got to the point of being able to influence your meeting with Ryan fucking Nelson. A key component of that would be what would his next target be? What would he likely be going after so that she can use that information to tie into the reading? - Got it. Into the second reading, which would be, which is what we're probably all discussing on the product. - Well, yeah. Basically, I would want to use the cards to have them describe whoever he's most likely to be the next victim. And then that would lead us to Ryan fucking Nelson. - Right. At his weakest. - Right. - Or at least be able to take it unaware, or maybe even to two prong-- - By surprise. - I was thinking perhaps, do we do a two prong attack? I guess is the idea here. Do we attack him as he's getting ready to hurt someone else? But then do we also hit his lair, if you will? - Well, while all of these spots-- - So you go through your mind and you want to discuss it with everyone, I assume that you'd give them a text and send them to you. - Tommy's right. - Right. - Tommy's right. - Tommy's right. - Tommy's? - Yeah, exactly. - That's my recipe. - 'Cause I live in Cleveland. - I live in Cleveland. - Cleveland Heights. - Center of what everything we're working on. - I know, but I live in Cleveland Heights. - Right. - So higher ground. See you there. (laughing) - That's good. - I plan to open some place. - Apparently. - We're gonna have to put some menu on your items just for you. - Well, yes. But, you know, I'm fine. I was just trying to cater to our vegetarian, vegan friends, so. - And we'll have to put some vegan stuff on there as well. - They have coffee. - You can have any pretentious side bar. - Oh yeah? - Yeah. - Pretentious side bar. - When I wake up in the morning though, there's a couple of things I wanted to do and the first thing in the morning. - Yes. - One of the things is I want to contact the agency, investigation agency, and have them do research on Brian fucking Nelson. Anything they could find. - Okay. - Any information what he's been buying, where he lives, home numbers, any train, whatever information they can pull off the internet. - Absolutely. - And to all the records. - You have an entire staff that does just that. - I wanna see if I can get, 'cause I know Roberto's been talking about his religious buddy. - Brother Francis? - I wanna get a hold of, see if I can get a hold of Brother Francis, through Roberto or whatever. And you come over to my house and ask him, "Brother Francis, if he can get me any information about battling denarians and what to watch out for and what to hit 'em with, and I mean weaknesses and whatever he can get me on, as far as fighting them, until we can be effective with doing that. - Did you have a sleepover? Did Brother Francis stay at your house? - I think you mentioned it. - I thought he was gonna do it just 'cause he wanted to protect us, but he didn't, so I told him, "Okay." - No, I didn't say didn't. Did you ask him to spend the night in? - I implied that he would, and he was like, "What?" I was like, "What am I?" Whatever case he did not. That's why I stayed up all night. - I'm saying that it's a possibility if you would like to make an empathy roll and it would have been sinned. Hell no, not an empathy roll. - Empathy. - That would require probably a fit point. - I can't imagine what you and London can't get along. - All right, amazing. Both of you have negative empathy scores. - I don't have a negative empathy score, I have a good empathy score. - So whatever these are-- - He goes over my house, right? - Average. (laughing) - I put a point in with it, at least. - That's not even good. - But a very low eye must be scored early. - Point of seat is two. - It's a quick question. - Did you specify the right leg and the right arm? Do you know if it's the right eye or the left eye? - It was the right arm and right leg, but it was the left eye. The patches of skin were, it seemed that back, chest, face were the larger areas, so he liked the cheek area. - Okay. - And the back for a large section of skin. And the tongue, it was the middle one. I don't know what sticks. (laughing) - Not the left or right tongue? - Not the left tongue, not the right arm. - It's one to say, right and left ears, though there have been no room. - Their apparently is not in the ear. - Yeah, so far from there. I just wanna put that out there. - Which leg, right leg? - Right leg, right arm, left eye. - He's gonna run really lopsided. (laughing) - Get in circles. - Okay, so y'all meet at Paragrams? - So now it's time to strategize. Now it's time to put our plans in motion. - I'm gonna do it. - Zelda had a plan about going over all the information they had for each of the... - That sounds excellent. - That comes. - Before goes to Zelda. - Before that happens, on your way over there, you get a phone call, which I don't know if you take it 'cause you're driving, you know, it's so dangerous to you. - Oh no, no, no, no, no. I've got the little dock for the iPod and-- - Oh, this is a boat. - Any iPhone, excuse me, and I can go hands free, baby. - Okay. - Depending on who it is, I'm not just gonna take any place. - Well, yeah, actually it's a member of the white course. It's the head of the Renaldi family. - Yes, I had put a bug in his ear to contact me. - Okay, and he is contacting you, but strangely enough, it's not in response to you, necessarily, but that you had contacted him a few weeks ago and stated that you wish to introduce him and have him speak with Edmund Schodowski about a matter. - Jim's character, Edmund wants to set up his place, and so you have been working behind the scenes to try to get him in contact with-- - Fantastic. - And Renaldi is saying that he believes he can find some time in the near future to meet with him and want it to set up. - That's fantastic. Is this a number he can reach you at and something you have me if you call back? All right, and I give him Edmund's phone number so that he can recognize the number coming through, when he comes through, so he can take the call as a post. I'm sure a man of his stature-- - Roll over. - Yeah, they don't take phone calls usually. So that, but also I had reached out to him regarding Roberto's father, because Roberto had hired me to find his father and at the very beginning of this story. So I want to make sure I take a moment to express to him our long and illustrious friendship and the fact that we've worked together on many occasions. And if he knows anything besides, I know Roberto could be just a well on your ass. He is more likely the most annoying human being I've ever met. That being said, he has contributed to the safety of this town and to the overall well-being of the status quo, which he has an interest in, the status quo. - Truthfully, that was one of the reasons he was calling you as well. - I will get off my high horse and let you answer that question now, go ahead. - He has some information, but he cannot possibly give it to you over the phone. This is something that needs to be done in private. - So somebody could be listening in and you look over your shoulder and there's-- - A lot of carpool people are like, "Oh, what?" - Oh, that's crazy. Listening in useful. - I asked him if it would be, we're in the middle of something right now, but it would be our right to contact him later today when I know what my schedule is gonna be like. We can set something up within the next day or two to get this information. - Yeah, I guess so cool. - I don't know that I would let it go a day or two. - Excellent. I'll see you right after breakfast then. I have breakfast meeting, I can't break. - Good enough. - Leave you for that. - 'Cause I'm hungry. - What's it gonna do? - You do all the meats in the-- - Higher grounds, probably about eight o'clock in the morning at this point and-- - Okay, so Zelda has the floor, right? - Up to you guys. You all meet, you're ready. - Jim's stuff brings out breakfast. I don't know exactly what penetarians eat for breakfast. - He's not a vegetarian, actually. - He's a vegetarian. - But not a vegan. - Not a vegan. - So you can have scrambled eggs, that'd be all right. But just no bacon, coffee infused, whatever. And eventually Roberto shows up. - Excellent. - Time. - Time. - They have pancakes, yeah. - Thanks for joining us. - French toast. - Short stack, sir. - Real butter, I hope. - All right, so the general idea for this meeting is, of course, we're under the umbrella of silence-- - Mumble spell. - From our private restaurant. - Yes. - In a private room. - The point being, we're here to discuss our plans, our game plan, for how we take out Ryan fucking Nelson, and the Denarian demons he seems to be cavorting with. Zelda has mentioned that she thinks it'll be a good idea for us to actually discuss these murders and the body parts taken, and who the parentat is missing because she thinks that might be a way to influence her tarot card reading in the future to weaken Ryan fucking Nelson. So without further ado, please take the floor. - The only way that I can think of that works in terms of weakening Ryan fucking Nelson is to be aware of where he's gonna be and who he's gonna be targeting. So I spent the last night at London's house, much to my chagrin. And basically-- - What about the chagrin, actually? - Ryan. - So there are three people who went missing in the parentat, and their names were Carrie Rains, Lian Hoffman, and Ray Barnes. Turned out that Carrie Rains was a red herring. She wasn't actually missing, she wasn't murdered. However, Lian and Ray, I got more information off of Ray. He had his tongue cut out, and it turns out that he had a silver tongue so he could talk anyone into anything. And Lian was a crude ritual, but he lost his right arm. Still haven't figured out what his power is though. - Who lost his tongue? - It was Lian. - Yeah. - Was Lian lost his tongue? - That's what Lian lost his tongue. - No, no, no, Lian. - Ray Barnes lost his tongue. - Lian lost his right arm. Yeah, yeah, Ray lost his tongue. Lian lost his right arm. And if you remember, Ryan Nelson's arm was in a sling. And also Lian, he was the first one to be killed mid-August. - And that was the right arm, correctly? - The right arm. - Which was the most important thing to get for him. - Was it mid-August before the-- - All the others. - And he clue us for our-- - And counter it with the vampire. - That is darn it. - And he clue us to what Lian's power was. - Not yet, but-- - That was in November. - He is from an Eastside group of pair nettors, and they're meeting, I think, tomorrow? - I might have a guess, but the war will have to be there. - Okay, and this happened in the middle of August? - Mid-August. You don't have an exact date, but it isn't the very first day in it. - Well, should we be able to get an exact date from the police department? - This guy was murdered. - Well, you may. - I know they haven't connected it, but there's still a police file on a murder. - Right, yeah, I haven't gone back to Ron Logan would say, hey, we've identified these, we think, they're in-- - Sure, he's got lots of murders. - Well, I'll call him. - We'll find that out from Cleveland.com or something. - Right, just a newspaper article going through and seeing murders in an event. - I've got people, please blow it down. - Right. - Well, so basically from what I can gather, I mean, I'm definitely gonna be meeting with, let's see here, Kay Newman, the leader of these side parent that Leon was from at their next meeting, which is coming up a couple of days. So far, the only things that are missing in terms of body parts, the major things, there have been no ears taken. - No ears. - We're also missing the left leg, the left arm, the right eye, and that's-- - We have powers of the eye, which is that translate state that I freed our ward in front of. - Mm-hmm. - And the portal coil, by the way, so that's a-- - Wow, nice fit. - It's not a lot of glasses, motherfucking. - That's the children done. - And then the tongue, which can speak-- - Silver tongue. - Yeah. - I meant people to shit. - We heard that, right? No, we didn't-- - She just said that. - No, he heard the voice of Nelson. - Nelson? - Yeah, he had a movie and it was her voice. - Smooth, so. - She's making shit up. - No, I remember that. - I remember you talking a much deeper voice than his really normal-- - Yeah, see, it wasn't quite as annoying. - What? - That's embarrassing. - I agree. I mean, I think-- - This is mostly out of character, 'cause I don't remember this. - I think the character of Ruro is correct here. I mean, I think that Ryan fucking Nelson is using these body parts to some end. And if, I don't know if this is possible to Zelda, but do you know of any current parent letters who have powers that are distinctly associated with the body parts that we have yet to-- - Well, here's a-- - To identify, or that Ryan has yet to harvest. - I don't know, do I? - Well, here's something on just on that note. Ryan Nelson, we knew at one point was just known for being a power amp guy, right? - Yeah. - He can boost people's powers, and then probably what he figured out is if I could take a body part from somebody who has a power, I would take, not only will I have that power, but it'll be boosted. - Right. - Part of the ritual you guys told me is that he seals the power up in the limb he takes. - Yeah. - And so, what have we seen Ryan fucking Nelson do back in the first adventure? Didn't he open the way or do it for him? - Yeah, but he was working with someone. - He did, yeah. - I might've mentioned the fact that he was doing some magic that people said he shouldn't have been able to do, and I'm trying to remember what-- - I think when we go to the internet then-- - We should ask about the people who've gone missing, what their talents were. - Yeah, sure. - Well, we can identify some of the powers, but you remember what he did back when we all saw him. - And if Zelda happens to know some of what has super powerful hearing, then, well, Jesus, let's just, I mean, that's an obvious. Watch your ears, lady. - Right. - I mean, it's an obvious. - Your illusions could give us some thing for him to chase. We could secret her away into hiding, and then lure him in with an illusion. - Right, and I think I'd like her to research current parent editors and see if there's anyone with powers distinctly associated with body parts that are not yet cold by Ryan fucking Nelson. - They're because-- - Her meeting for the east side is two days away. - I think we should look for one he would have most interest in. - Was there any sort of a pattern in which marinets these, I don't want them to-- - Are they all coming from the east side? - Oh, if you're my cop on a map, a different location-- - If you were to map it out, where are they all over the place? - Officers do that. - In a specific location. - It forms a pendant-- - No, I was-- - No, there's no-- - I think there's no pattern. - I think it's reasonable to say that he can open portals and open weights into other dimensions, 'cause I think we've seen him do that. - Okay. - Which we decided to require a lot, which we knew took a lot of magic and power and skill that he should not have had, because we would have detected it. - And some of the demons? - And well, I don't know about some of the demons, that's just a ritual that people who have magic can do, so he-- - What's he talking about? - He's talking about the mayorium. - Yeah. - Or God, they don't need to be shown. - They don't need to be shown. - We could have gotten that just from the pieces he's gotten already. And he's trying to grab-- - Seems like he gets more-- - He's like Alan. - It seems like he's getting help. - Yes, why? - Or his silver tongue could be allowing him to talk these demons into performing. The silver tongue was the-- - Silver tongue was what was taken off the second. - Two? - The second murder, and that was-- - Ray, and late September. - Late September. - So you guys mentioned his demon friend was an audio? - And there's another good team. - Maybe. - I bet you any money on his arm, probably, or could be Hellfire. - Well-- - But he's got a dude tapping out. It doesn't necessarily need to be him if you're Hellfire, and then if it is, his arm, how did he open the portal? He didn't have anything else besides the arm at that point. - I think it's interesting, though, to note that he started with-- even though there's no pattern, like he said, that Ryan fucking Nelson started with this-- like Leon and Ray asked about each other on the message board. They knew each other. They were friends. They're from the same parent net group. So it's interesting that he started there. - And that was the Far East Side one? - Far East Side, yeah. And they knew each other. Ray and Leon, they were good friends. - The parent net don't typically blather about their powers online and stuff. They don't-- - I'm not saying online, but-- - No, no, I get that. I'm just saying, what you saying could you do research? She was looking all over-- - I bet that she had contacts, in a sense, where she would know from meetings and stuff. I mean, she'd think-- - That's the way it's gonna be required is talking to somebody that knew the person. - I'm not from the East Side parent net, so-- - So which one was it Ray or the other fellow? Who had the tongue? - Ray has a silver tongue. - So his friend must have had the arm. - Yeah, his friend Leon had the arm. - Okay, sorry, I missed that, sorry. - And then Ray in late September, five months later. - See, I'm reading this a little bit different. I sold Gaze Tim when I was in spirit form, and so he had this incredible desire or need or lust for power, but he couldn't have that power. He was a catalyst for other people. And I think that he's not going around, I suspect, he's not going around killing parent netters to gather power, to take on demons. I think he's either a demon, got ahold of him, or whatever, he made a deal, and that thing is helping lead him to do this thing. And that's what's, he's not doing it to get a demon, he's doing it to be a king. - He's already in order to do the influence, I think. - To what end? - Well, that's what I think we're here to talking about, and before what Zelda talked about, with all the pieces parts, it's kind of building a picture in my mind, but I have not heard what your pictures have revealed yet, and I'm kind of would like to hear Steve, what you have perceived or seen through your camera, because I think that might offer some clues to put this picture together, because after I hear what you have to say, then I'd like to kind of think, okay, is this going in a direction? Can I somehow decipher or use my lore to see what direction this guy might be going in, and what's next? - There's only one demon here now, we know that. And just before Stephen gets started. - And to answer that question, I seem to recall I had three voices. Ryan Nelson, Ryan Nelson's deeper voice, which I took to be someone, and then there was a third voice that mentioned something when I was a spirit in the warehouse, I don't know if Ryan Nelson is bipolar or schizophrenic or whatever is the appropriate term there. So there's at least two, maybe three entities that we're talking about, including Ryan Nelson, and none of those voices were the demon, right? - Well, one of them might have been the audio one. - I didn't see who spoke the third voice, but I have a question about the previous, not the previous, whatever you guys did with Ryan, Ducky and Nelson. He has right arm injured. - Yeah, if he started first thing that he got fixed, for a month, it's not a coincidence. - No, probably not, no. - So if he started doing this rituals after he got possessed by a demon in this period of theory. - He might have done it. - And he would have been possessed by a demon when we met him. Did you detect anything? - When we met him which time? - The first. - The very first time, right? - Well, we met him in the theater. - He was dealing with... - This would be the first story for you guys who weren't. - Yeah. - He was... - Before the vampire shut down. - Well, if you remember, here's how I remember it. We put Ryan Nelson in a safe house to get to him later, and we never got to him later. And by the time we did come around, he had punched a hole in reality and gone to the other place. - I remember we got to question him. - He talked about the baby. - I thought it was more on the drive to the safe house. - Right. - Than we discovered that he had delivered the baby, and then he was gone. - Right. And I seem to remember that, and I'll have to go back and look through notes, I suppose, but I seem to remember that we did try to suss him out a bit, but I didn't think that he was a major practitioner at all. Shifting, Steve. - Yeah, your guys' research, what happened? - Well, we came up with some names. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find out anything else from the photograph I took at the ritual circle. - I don't know. We didn't, you'd never made a role for that, and I never gave an explanation about what you could find. I was saying, you're having frustration, and you weren't able to focus on it. So, let's give a role, and see what you could have gotten from that photograph. - By looking at an hour, just one of the last-- - No, no, no, no, no, what you got last night. You've got some reading, but it wasn't as deep as you wanted to get. But you didn't get something from it. - Unless you roll super high. And you got, all right, so-- - But you got it all in the forest hour, and you couldn't get it anymore. - And that is good. - So, that's a wash. - I trust in pictures, and I don't trust words, and I have a perfectly valid one. - The truth is in my photograph somewhere. - Is that two different ones? - No, it's one. - Okay. - So, that takes you from a good two. - That takes you to the poster. Two posters for, yeah. - Can you tap anything else? - I can't, I'm tapped up. - Okay, so I got you up to superb. In looking at the picture, you see beyond the ritual circle, and you see the representation of what the circle was, which was a cage consisting of walls and an amazing side. It was obviously meant to contain something. - A cage with an amazing side. - And the outside was high walls, and the inside was just a jumble. And it seemed like the outside walls had thorns and things pointing inward. It was primarily a structure meant to contain something. - It's too much of a story. - But you also do see a spiritual ghost representation of the warden. - Photobombing your camera. Next to him is a cloudy figure that you don't recognize as well, but you do see something there. It's another figure that seems to be more ethereal than he is, a bit more transparent. Harder for you to focus on. It seems to be an elderly figure, older than he is at least. - That's right. - The bike is old. - Like the warden? - Like the old one. - Not as old as rubber, no. - I'd tell everyone this during breakfast. - My ride was there. - Yeah. - 'Cause the warden was there. - Yeah. - It's like the old one. So like, maybe if the old one was trying to become a warden. - Why? - Is there anything else that you get from that photograph? Like, is there anyone outside of the cage that seems to be holding him in, or any other power involved there? Ryan in the maze cage. - No, you do see Ryan inside the cage when he took the picture, he wasn't there. And he does seem to be struggling, and you see a secondary image of the warden in there. The one you see on the outside with the figure standing next to him, it's evident that it isn't in the same timeframe as the one. The center circle you're seeing is a glimpse for you into the past. That seemed to be of when you were taking the picture. And the outside of the circle seemed to be the warehouse you were in, and the garbage that were around it, and you see him as a ghost form there. But in the circle, you do see Ryan Nelson, and you do see him fighting with a different version of the warden. You do think that there's something almost overlaid on Ryan Nelson, like another figure larger than it more dangerous than he is. The classic demon horns type of thing. And it's a faint overlay of superimposed hoves type of thing. - Perhaps that's the almost. - It's something or a being or entity that has control over him. It's part of him. It's his. - They seem to be occupying the same space, one slightly larger than the other. Interpret that as you will. - I think at this point, we need to, what will be our game plan for next week? I've got reservations as London. - Before we meet with these people. - I mean, Zelda's beating in a couple of days? - I think, what would you say that their meeting was, you said like one or two days. - One of the one is two days and the other one is three or four and what kind of mobile device do you carry? Is it something you can check online, stop. So if you're checking the messages, you do have a message from the one that is like four or five days. - Okay. - So this response is actually from the quarter. And at the bottom of the message, it's signed Darren. So it's a mail. - Darren. - Darren just greets you and says you have questions in particular about what and maybe perhaps it'd be easier if we meet somewhere. I can answer your questions without having to worry about leaving information where I perhaps shouldn't. - It is currently Thursday. When she contacted, was it Kay? - Both of them, she said, want to hear that- - Pride of a message, last night, so when you said two days, it was really Wednesday night and you met Friday, she's gonna meet with the first one? - Yes. - Okay. - It would be a meeting after work. We'll write together on my house. - And the other one is like, that's four days or whatever, that would be like a Sunday. - Yeah. - That was more like a brunch meeting, right? - Was Darren the leader of Ray's parent or Leon? - Well, you don't know and you didn't ask. - Okay. - Bible, I don't know what you asked, what did you ask when you sent the message? - I asked him about Ray and about Leon and what they knew since he knew since they were both on the east side and that we're concerned about their murders and trying to find out any information that we can and want to be helpful. Also want to protect anyone else on the east side since two people were murdered from the east side parent. - Okay. - Darren informs you that they were both members of his parent group and that he does have some information and would gladly share it with you but we prefer to meet in person. - Okay. - I think someone's going to die before Zelda gets the opportunity on Friday after work to meet with a parent. - Darren didn't specify a time. - Right. - But the other one didn't. - He's saying that he was just talking person so I'll just shoot him a message. - You didn't say show up for our brunch. He said we should meet in person. - Understood now. - So that's so that maybe we could act like that. - Yeah, of course. Absolutely. - Because you think you have enough information to do a reading on who's next? - Would it be useful to get that information and then try to find who it matches or to see everyone in the meeting and then do the reading to see? - Do it now. - Do it now. - The math people to the reading. The math people would be asking if she could do it now because it's two days earlier than it would be later. - Right. - I mean, even if it's a shot. - Even if it's a shot. - Mark, Zelda, I-- - Do you want me to do the full-out ritual or just flip the card? What are you? - I'm implying a full-out ritual 'cause you might be able to point as to who's next. - Like the top. - Yeah, I think that'd be good. - And I don't want someone else to die and I don't want to wait several days for these meetings to occur or even a half a day for the meetings to occur 'cause he could be out there right now stalking someone. - I think we have almost enough information anyway. I mean, the details at some point aren't gonna matter whether a demon's working for him or he's working for the demon. There's gonna be a demon there. - Yeah, we didn't take it out. - What, if the question is what power would he be after next? You have five individuals that you believe had power. - Yes. - What were the power of these five individuals? - We don't know, that's the thing. We don't know. - We know two of them. - Yeah, and that's why we're trying to figure out what the power is. - I know what in that, don't you hear? We know the lens, but not our own powers. - We know the lens, but not our own powers. - Oh, the powers, yeah. - No, we are, by the way. So you're saying she needs to meet with this gentleman. - No, you're saying-- - No, I mean, it's better just to come to the chase. Do you think it'd be better if we did that? - I think she would have more chance of success if she knew the pattern for what she knows to, we don't know quite enough. That was rep his point, do we know enough? And your answer pretty much is you could know more. It'd be better to know more. - I think it would be easier to know more. - But then we would have to wait. - I mean, you could go more-- - Not that long, I can message this guy back and say, "Hey, I can meet later today." We don't have to wait today. - Okay. - I'm sure he's gonna tell us. - You could probably even tell me, at least, since we do know that they haven't been any years, we could ask that question too, if there's anyone in his parent-- - If you don't have one in the ear, we'll give you hours. - Can you give us the answer when she texts him back? Real quick, he says, "Like me today, this is urgent. People are in danger." Does he say, "Okay." - Yes, he says, "Okay." He says, "He's at work now, but he can meet her at lunch at Tommy's." (laughing) - All right. - Okay, so if we're gonna go around the table real quick, and say what we're gonna do, I am gonna go meet with Robert Aldi after breakfast. I strongly encourage someone to go with Zelda. For protection now, we don't know how you're going to meet with Robert Aldi because there are two people that are interested in Robert Aldi, and that would be Roberto and Edmund. - And I wanna know, 'cause you were saying he wanted-- - Well, what he just said, he wants to meet personally, giving me the information about Roberto's father. So-- - Well, we also said something about me. - Yeah, obviously pass a lot of information to him. - I noticed, because in truth, you've got three strong guns here, as far as physical protection for Zelda. - I don't want Roberto going with me to see Rinaldi. That is literally the last thing in the world I want. He's not gonna avoid seeing that man again, I'll be happy. - All right, 'cause you got your ass put through a wall. So you don't wanna meet him again. (laughing) - Still-- - You gotta get your ass putter, you left quick. - All I'm saying is we don't know anything about the person that Zelda is corresponding with. It's fantastic, they seem friendly. It could be Ryan fucking Nelson, but she's corresponding with-- - Well, Ryan fucking Nelson was a leader of the paradise. - So I think it behooves our group, and it's for her protection, to have some people go with her. - I'll go with Soap. - I know people in the paradise too. - Contract beamers. - You'll have one right now that I have a blip on him. - If he's involved with these ritual murders, I can keep a tail on him, or if he's meeting with Zelda, because he's Ryan Nelson. - You're right. - So we've got Roberto, Steven, and Alan, as her bodyguard. - That's gonna be an interesting card. - My bodyguard. - Yeah. - I wanna go with you. - I wanna go with you. - I wanna go with you. - I wanna go with you. - What contact he has. - It was gonna be my mind. - I don't understand the costume. - Yeah, right. - I think I wanna go check out who can get me approved. What person does the mobster-- - The mobster. - It seems like a wonderful question to ask him when you're face to face. So I'm taking Edmond with me to meet Renaldi and Repa. - Well, I'm just gonna go with Zelda, but currently I'm not needed, so. - Well, I'll go home at Edmond. - Much related, wake and bake. (laughing) (laughing) - I'm gonna go follow the split. - Yeah. - Is that me, to Zelda's meeting, then so be it. - Okay. - Okay, Batman, go do your random shit. Good luck with that. - So go chase the demon, be careful. And everyone else knows what we're doing, right? - You said nothing about me at all. - Okay, what would you do? - I could go with whatever. I'm no good at stuff. We've gone over this three times. - What are you gonna ask? - What do you say you do here? - I run, I shoot, I investigate, that stuff. - We're gonna need you to work on Saturday. (laughing) - I got some P.K. - Yeah, I was gonna say what exactly what Edmond said is he's got people, you're in charge of these people and they're doing research on it. - Oh, yeah. - I'm finding everything and anything about Ryan Nelson, what he's been doing, what he's been living, what he's been buying. - And we'll have that information represented by an investigation rolled by you. - Sure, it sounds right up my alley. And we'll call it there. - Yes. (upbeat music) - Thank you for listening to Knights of the Night Actual Play Podcast. Boom, back story. We're an amazing real place. (laughs) - For their group of l-l-l-l-l-l-l-l-l-l-l-l-l-l. That's our deportors. - I don't know. - Mm-hmm. - Why you make me edit, sir? (laughter) - That was a good one. - Goddammit. - Brilliant. - Picking up drapes. Is there what are you doing? 'Cause it was from over there. - You didn't know what flip-flop-flop-flop-flop-flop-flop. - I had this, but I can't seem to find that one. (beep) - I'm just laughing about tap that ass. - Paspic. - Paspic. - Ever gets a little, oh my God, she's turning into one of you guys. (laughter) - It really works. - Well, if you start punning.
