[Music] Hello, and welcome to Night to the Night Actual Play Podcast. This World of Darkness story, Shagrin, was written and run by a storyteller Scott. [Music] And now, please enjoy Episode 124, titled "Hand to Hand." [Music] Actual play begins 10 minutes, 36 seconds. [Music] Alright, before we get into the episode, we have a whole few times this week. Our first spin of feedback is from Tyler Pudek, who simply says, "You guys need to submit the podcast to the Annie Awards." And then he gave me the link. Almost said Facebook, "Any Awards, Annie is the end world." And they do a fantasy based awards each year, and one of the categories is podcasts. And I have no problem with submitting it. Is there an actual play podcast, or just podcast? Yeah, they have a specific category that is for actual play, so we might have a shot at it, but... Well, take a look. No harm. They give you a golden statue or something. Never mind. They mail you a really nice place. They give you bragging rights to say you were the best podcast for the year. Told microphone. Is there like a fee or anything? No. What can you lose? Yeah, pretty much nothing. Nothing. It just takes a little time to post, so... We appreciate the heads up. And I appreciate the fact that Tyler thinks we're worthy of Ben and Annie Winter. So, thanks. Do people vote? Or is there a panel of judges or what? I believe both. I don't know how they're going to say it. Yeah. No, I really think they have. I don't think they have a full vote for their favorite thing. And then I think a committee kind of takes all that into effect and comes up with a final answer. So it's kind of like, how do we like the president? No. Unless you're Florida? Well, one of these pleeps, everybody votes and then they have a small committee that just makes a decision and, you know, fuck everybody else. Hey, Chad. Go ahead. Next. We had some additional Facebook feedback on episode 122. Skywise said, "I approve of Daniel Morgan's method of stating test for a sirens position on domestic abuse." On a side note, I was a little disappointed that the player, Greg, isn't on this one. She ran and enjoyed his work on shit luck and wish to hear more of the fast talking adventures of Dr. Lucius. Fairy Tales. Miles. In quotes. I don't know where fairy tales come from. Fairy Tale. He never believed anything was supernatural, everything. You have a scientific explanation. That's true. Because he was a doctor. Other than the part that he was part vampire. Or himself. He wasn't. He just had some implants. That's why he... In plants. Of mythical creatures. Technological implants from his point of view. The bioengineering. Bioengineering. Right. That's why he got along with the shoe parks. Because they both believed that that stuff's shoe parks. I think that to get back to Skywise, I think we all appreciated Daniel's take on domestic abuse. And his response to that particular scene was very good and measured. And also we all miss Dr. Miles as well in the stories. He's a busy man though. He's a busy man, but we hope to have him back someday. Perhaps. We also had Chris Naples, who chimed in and said, "I'd be okay if Daniel's beat the shit out of the jackass while the others were talking to his wife." Nothing like a giant mountain man beating his ass to give him a taste of his own medicine. Yet once again, guys, a roving episode. Yeah. It was a good episode and just well played all around, I think, from the player's standpoint. I think a lot of us wish that Daniel would do more than just the one smack that he gave on. Oh, and it wasn't really bad going to eat. Yeah, he rolled off. I had been rolling behind a screen. I totally would have fudged that and said he'd just beat the shit out of the guy. But he would make it his own role and there was nothing we can really do about it. See? Fake game, he could have spent some points there. Right? True enough. Actually, I was dancing below. Yes. I certainly had one dice to roll. Yeah. He got better later. When you were just too tired, stats were supposed to work. Mm-hmm. I think you tried to spin it. I did try to make it seem like it was a cup outside the head. I think it wasn't trying to do damage to him. He was trying to more humiliate and embarrass him much like he does his wife. So, I think in that particular instance, I tried to spin it for a more effective presentation. Back to Facebook, episode 123, Eric Koval said, "At long last, I finished the Dresden novels, and I can catch up on my test for siren." Welcome back. It's a lot of novels to read. Yeah, it was Scott's recommendation. Yes. Big thumbs up there. I have a good 20 episodes to catch up on. Keep it up, guys. So, welcome back, Eric. I think there's been about 22 or 23 so far in this storyline. So, he's got pretty much the entire Shagrin storyline to go. So, he'll enjoy it, I'm sure. The last five novels are pretty good. How do you really enjoy the last one? I think they keep getting better. They do so. One would hope. Well, by your estimation, they really had only one direction to go. They can only get better. Roy from the Rusak gamers had a quick note on Facebook and he said, "One quick thing, guys. Origins is June 12th through 16th, 2013. The middle of the month, not at the end." So, I think I described it as the end of the month. Yeah, I think he did. Something in the 20s, I think he said. I think he said 27, but the origins... He's still trying to make it. Yeah. Oh, definitely. I think we could... Yeah. Some of us will be down there, I believe. And we'll definitely contact Roy. The Rusak gamers recently had an episode and they did do. They usually do actual play and their jam didn't show up, so they just set her on a bull show. And he actually mentioned... Should it? Should it? Should it? They will chat. But he actually mentioned our podcast to the couple of guys that were there and kind of said it was a good story line to listen to. And it was a enjoyable fiction and... Appreciate it. So, we appreciate that, Roy. He also said some things about... ...Theasco. Right. It's a challenge. It's a challenge. I'm Rose. That wasn't been a week. Man, I want to make this a fiasco in one night. I want to make this perfectly clear. John is the only one that hates fiasco. I have read the book and actually played a game. Nobody else in the group has played. That's bullshit. Oh, sorry. Thomas did you play it in the game? Sorry. I may hate it. You may not know it. You may not know that you hate it. Of everybody, Thomas and I understand the game. John, the one who hates it. He won. Never read it, doesn't want to, doesn't want to play it. He hates the concept of the game. And a few people have and speak for himself. John can't speak. I'm speaking for John right now. And I think a few of the people might have an issue with the fact that it's a one shot. No matter what it's a one shot, these characters live and die in this story and it's over. Is it a one night one shot? It has to be. The intent of the game design itself is, yeah, they're disposable characters. You're supposed to bring them grief, have fun, just totally destroying their lives. Okay, so maybe Mike doesn't care for it all that much either. Like I said, I saw this stuff on YouTube about it on the tabletop games. What's the objection? You don't like the acting or the... You guys said, well, we didn't get it more or less. Yeah. Is it a video or an audio or a bulk or what? Actually, it's two videos. I'm two videos. Yeah, two videos. He does all sorts of different systems and there is a one about fiasco. Dude, sounds pretty interesting. You watch bulk parts? Yep. I want you to make it a premise. Well, I guess that's my point. Come on. You've never watched the movie Fargo. Yeah. And did you enjoy it? To a point. It's the same thing. You're playing... I'm to the wood chipper. The wood chipper, he was fine. Once the wood chipper hit, Mike, I think got the swingies. Okay. Come on. I just think it's funny that if everyone ends up dead and it's horrible, you guys are like moths who are flamed to it. I just think it's interesting. I think we should do a fiasco. We should set it in an office and we should set it downtown. I have a bunch of clients I really don't like. I think that would be great, but that could be the community. Oh, yes. Did you say rush hour of rush hour? No, no. That could easily be a fun one. Oh, and there's a deadline that I'm not going to make. Oh, and I drive a tank? Oh, wait, there's got to be a busload of children coming by somewhere. If I have... Not just children. A busload, though. I'll give you a busload. Young, too. The children could be a little bit older. You got to endanger the ones they're six or younger. How about a busload of preschoolers? Okay. You're just driving a tank. Handy-capped. Handy-capped. No, one or two. That's a little diversity. I'll put that. Or her teacher's going on strike. So you would like that? I would like to have that. See? Does everyone have to die in the game fiasco by basically? Absolutely not. It's just supposed to be... And some of the equipment compromising positions... Some of the characters could actually end up... Well off. At the end of the game. So in Mike's version, they all die. But in everyone else's, it's just... What a strange reversal of... It's called fiasco net revelation or something. That's going to be... Right, but fiasco doesn't... It's not like dead, bleed, knife in your heart fiasco. It's... This is crazy. Did they all die? Well, it's a one person. Then the winner actually turned out to be like this... Hell woman that orchestrated something from the very beginning. So it was very... It was creative. It was interesting. So it went well for her. Yeah. I guess. Everyone else probably had a friend. Do you want to be mutually hated? The only problem would be if we did it down at Origins. We're probably going to have Mark, my youngest son, and David and yours. Right. And I don't think that works. Right. Now, actually Mark's played if you ask him to enjoy it. Right. The law is getting crazy. But you can't take it to places that are... Yeah. Sometimes more fun. It tends to go. Right. And that's it for the feedback. Roy, I'll definitely be in touch with you about Origins. It's December 15th, right? Right, yeah. Christmas, actually. Oh, yeah. Well, let me get a Christmas one, yeah. So look at the KOTN Podcast.com blog site. The voting is as follows. Edgard Montez has seven votes. Then Chew Park has nine. We've got Daniel Morgan at 12. Michael Clay at 13. Sister Katie at 14. And Jay Alton still leading the pack at 16. And with that, we will get on to the adventure. Which, finally, we're out of flashbacks. This is chapter 14 of the World of Darkness story "Shook Ring." I am your storyteller, Scott. And with me tonight, on my right is... I am Jim, playing the cute, red-headed sister. Katie O'Connor, the compic. The Shadow Congregation. Bob playing FBI Special Agent Chew Park. Member of the Basque Conspiracy. Tom playing Jay Alton. Member of the Ascending Ones. Mike playing Michael Clay. The Adventure Academic. Part of the Ages Kaidoru. Thomas playing Edgard Montez. A voodoo practitioner. And a member of the League of Mistairs. Conspiracy. John playing Daniel Morgan. X Test Force Valperin member. And Mount Mantaemersonary. He is screaming into the face of Danny. Where is the girl? Where is the girl? He's snarling, spitting. And when he looks at you, his eyes just look like he is absolutely enraged. And that's the end of your turn. It's not a good thing that should be in Valperin. Jay. Did I hear anything over the microphone and what's going on with it? Daniel Morgan. You hear the rumbling and the lick of the flames on the walls. You hear a wishing noise. You hear him brace himself. Fuck it. I don't know when he kicks in the door. So you hear a door shattering. And then you hear him say, fuck. I would assume that would be something you might say. Yeah. Absolutely. What do you say? Because it could be in your voice. But I would assume that's just- I don't speak out, man. You're like, what the hell? Do I know this man? I mean, I see his name here, but I haven't seen him in training or anything. Nope. He's insane. I'm staring down a helicopter. I've been trying to warn him off with some of them. He seems to have not noticed you. No. And that's what I mean. You know what I mean. He's only a hundred feet up. And with your skull, when you look up there, you can absolutely see him. He's talking into a headset to somebody. Right. And he does not see you. As my character knows more about the military than I do as a player. Right. Did the phone a friend? No, I don't kill Ordo. No, I put you on an FBI watch list by looking up the fact that Sniper rifles can indeed take out a helicopter. Of course they can't. So, I'm assuming that my target that I have to hit would probably be about the size of the human head. So, I'm assuming I'm going to get the maximum whammy here. Oh yeah. That's what I'm aiming for. I'm aiming to take this machine and- Well, tell her. I should load a few. The weak link on the helicopter. After you've got a visit from the FBI, what is the weak link of a helicopter? I don't know that I really want to broadcast that over. Right. Fair enough to everyone on how exactly you can shoot down a helicopter. Well, let's just google it. Depending on the type of helicopter it is, I'm not sure if it has the clear visor underneath it where you can look down through your feet. The helicopter is a five point control system, meaning that you have five points of control controlled by four points or feet in your hands. Right. I'm sure Ordo will correct me if I'm wrong. But the point is, you're probably at a better angle to shoot out the bottom and knock out his foot or his leg. Well, no, well, here's the thing. This is a military helicopter. I'm sure it's got bulletproof glass. I mean, they're not going to put. This isn't- Yeah. Is it like a Black Hawk helicopter? It is what looks to be in a patchy, but it looks, again, this is probably- Well, actually you might know this. I'll make a rule around the rules here to see if anybody knows it. Well, all right. If you want my character to make a rule to see if he knows how to do this, we'll do that. But I don't think we need to know- No. That's fine. But what we need to do is make sure your character would know that. So I'm going to say that you can use crafts, academics, or weaponry on your roll. If the role is crafts, there's no minus. If the role is weaponry, it's minus two. If the role is academics, the role is minus three. Have that gentleman. Plus, I'm sorry. All of those plus intelligence. All of those? Yes. Anyone who wants to make the role? No. I'm assuming that perhaps Jay could have set the long lines up. Anyone want to take out a stealth helicopter? Unless Jay knows. What? You choose between- Yeah. Intelligence. Well, Scott, if it's a helicopter that is bringing troops to drop people off or pick them up, it's going to be a transport, like a black hot. If it's a gunship, like an Apache, it's not going to have any space to carry anyone other than the pilot and the crew and a gunman. So I don't think they managed for story purposes. And it'd be taken out and one shot with a sniper rifle. It's a roll. We don't need to get in. You know what I'm saying? I mean, those are perfectly valid points if it was real. Right. And I was standing with a rifle and going, "Mike, where should I shoot?" It is to be accurate. Right. Yes. It is an Apache helicopter. One success. You get one success from a mechanical standpoint, me telling you, you hit the whatever, and it'll probably go down. Hit this link. She's very good at crafts. Alright. I'll take an extra dice from her. Okay. I'm assuming she'll help you. Hey, check out. No. It didn't help. But I got one success. Okay. Anyone else want to make a roll or no? Anyone else want to die? I got a chance to go. Okay. Should the shooters spin around? Yeah. It's going to be a very difficult shot. But go ahead. Alright. I've got one little power left and just removing the helicopter from the scene seems important. Not to spend it, I guess. I know I'm going into a burning building, so. Right. You are? Yes. Well, I don't think you're getting anybody out of there by yourself. I was going to talk about a window. Okay. Minecraft. We'll worry about that later. I'll catch you then. You're the king of the background. Well, that takes me up to... 16. And this is no ordinary patchy as well. It's probably armored and... Yeah. But I'm going to go with armor on the unit is... Well, I would argue that the reason that what I have to hit is so small is because I'm trying to hit something as unarmored. But go ahead. Right. I can understand that viewpoint, but it wouldn't make it as much fun for me. Okay. To throw just massive minuses at me. Absolutely. This is five for the size. Okay. Minus two for the movement in the darkness, in the juggering or whatever. Okay. So, give it your best shot. All right. What do you want me to tell you? Throw in nine dice. Total of... 16 minus the sevenies. Yes. Two. And again. It's like that. Three. And again. Four. And again. And again. Four. And again. Well, that's fucking lucky. Four total. All right. The shot was penetrated and sparks flew and the helicopter jittered a bit, wobbled a bit. It spins around so that... Are you moving at all or are you just stinging still? I take the shot. Once I see it hit and it looks like he's fighting for control. That's all I want. I'm in the house. I turn around and kick down the door and enter the house. I don't want to open the door, but I don't care. I got a man in there who may need help. This is sick. I didn't say safer. I have a man in danger. I go in. The store's crumbled behind me, stairs. Moving through the... I don't know that. I heard grunts and moans as you moved up. Jay, the front of the house had just been hit with two huge canisters of napalm. So, the front of the building is a blaze. It is heavily in flame. You put your hand out. I jumped through a window. The front door is still open. So, you run through the front door. I'm just saying, is the flames lick you as you move through the doorway. You take one lethal damage from the flames. Your kevlar and the rest of your body armor protecting you as you move into the home. You're greeted with the same "what the fuck?" Because there are, again, pictures, plastered all over of a 14-year-old girl. Some drawings, some photographs, some paintings, some photocopies, just plastered. You move towards the stairway and your turn is complete. Jay, go ahead and make a perception check, please. Have this. Free successes. You cast one look before you dive through the flames of the doorway. You cast one look back. You see the pilot screaming into his headset. He's also jerking his hand behind him, which you don't know exactly what that's in reference to. But he's definitely pointing deeper into the helicopter. And you see the helicopter starting to turn a bit towards the silo. And that's how your turn ends as you run through the flint. For those of you who are outside, chew Tister Katie, probably over your back shoulder. Edgard peering back, but not seeing much because of the fact you missed your perception role. The helicopter definitely pivots in the air, lines itself up with the silos. And you hear the noise of two canisters being fired. Sister Katie and Chew can both make perception checks again. Please. Michael, you're behind the hill, so I don't think... Michael, you know what, Michael, I'm sorry. It's a hundred feet in the air. I'm sure you're at least paying some attention to what's going on. So you can go ahead and make one as well. I got minus three because of mine. Yes, and it's no other minus besides that. It's a perception check with plus composure. I got a success in two decks. I'm six minus three to success. Okay, two successes for chew, and go ahead, Michael. Wow, three successes with one to go, three successes. All right, one, two, three. You both see side doors slide open on the helicopter. And there is definitely someone on either side of the copter. The copter's kind of leaning towards the house. A little bit, it's kind of a little off center, but both of them are on the... Lynch guns? Yeah, the... Oh, fuck. 50 cow. Yeah, just the nasty-ass, huge round ones. They're just caddling? Yeah, that's... That wasn't that annoying. Yeah, mini guns. Yeah. Fuck. Yeah, I'm gonna say. I'm letting them know that guns are... They're kind of... Like your eyes open up. You know, mini gun go back. You got that aggro to the helicopter. All right. Helicopter will be fighting more. He just teased off 'cause they threatened our lives. $4 million to dollars in helicopter repairs. They're gonna blow us apart. I see the opposite side of the building. Isn't it crashing or something? Kind of not. All right. It takes longer than three seconds to go down. Managing-wise, it was three and two. It had a durability of three that you had to override, and then it had a structure of two. You did four damage, so three durability is sucked up. One damage gets to that last dice. Your role was a monumental die in the sense that it would have been the second point of damage for that. As it is, you damaged it, and it's unsteady. So how long it can remain in combat at that point is anyone's guess. But that's all metagaming. Not just want to give you the idea of how that rule worked. Back to the action. The helicopter's turn is spent firing the canisters at the silo, and the door is opening on the mini guns or the gatlings, whatever they're called. But they can't fire. They didn't see anyone. They were just focused on their canisters and cleaning up. They were not focused on seeing people were screwing around in the dark. So now they're aware the doors are opening. People are getting the position, but they're not ready to fire just yet. That's a significant warning. I feel like I'll get the hell out of the way. Going back to John. There is a task force Valkyrie. You notice briefly when you look down, he actually has been hit by something. But what's really interesting is for you, time seems to almost slow down. You kick the door open and you're reaching for a gun or something because you're seeing this scene in front of you. And it's almost as if the movie goes in slow motion. Your eyelid starts to blink one time and you see the Valkyrie agent on the floor and your eyes are going down to blink. And when your eyes open back up, his claws are coming towards your face. He's moving at a blur like a speed that is quite unnatural. How many attacks does he have for a round? Great question to ask. He is just basically coming at you and you blink your eyes one time and you feel the impact that feels like you were hit by a stone wall as this creature just slams into you. So what's your defense? Our defense is two. Catalog on count here. Go for the defense. Yes, for one of them. We take one, right? Yeah, unless... 73. Okay. He's coming with like gun-like speed here because that would slow it down. Oh, yeah. As his claws enter your face, you feel just this searing pain and with his speed, not so much his size, but his absolute speed, he pushes you back into the hallway. He's just, he's absolutely with one hand, he is thrusting you back towards that back window that's right behind this particular door that you just kicked in. A little off-centered, which you realize just saved your life, that that window is not lined up with the door. Instead, I can do a brick wall. He has to try to spin you a little bit and as you get to the, he loses some momentum and as you get to the window, your back crashes into the glass, creating a back breath. The glass shatters all around, you take two lethal damage and make a athletics plus dexterity roll to grab on to the sides or just to stop your momentum as he's trying to push you through this window. Unless you want to go through the window. Unless you would like to go through the window. And you'll pop. What? It'd be a fast way to get out of a burning building. Yeah. I'm going to split it in my vampire. And you hear a starving hate. It's not even words. It's just absolutely some kind of language you've never heard before and he is just slamming into you. I do manage to get purchased, two successes. Two successes. So you grab on with either arm and hold on. At this point, he's lost his momentum because again, he had to spin you a bit when he got out of the door to try to make you leave. The fire explodes through the window as the window is broken open. There's fire on the back side too? Oh yeah. Not as bad as the fire on the front side, but there's fire on the back side. Remember the back wall was warm in what's smoking when you came up the stairway. You have one armor. Mort and you take one more lethal from that. He, now waiting and acting on pure instinct. Some fire hits him in the face and he screams. I mean, it is an ungodly, unearthly scream and he staggers backwards holding his face. It didn't seem to you as if it was a huge fireball that caught him, but whatever hit him totally staggered him for a moment at least. Okay. I don't know if I'll let anything like this. I just have to damage the fire. Yeah. I've got to talk to me. What's your armor one? You have in the Kevlar, right? Yeah. Oh, that makes it two for bullets, but one just generally. That doesn't matter on your day. Oh, come on. You're not going to die. I don't know. You want any health at all? I have a bashing in my life, fuck. Oh, no. No. Yeah. Unfortunately. Because from the explosion of the silos, you take one lethal damage from the explosion. Does he die immediately? No, he doesn't die immediately. Make a, make a stamina roll, please. One fucking dose. Good luck to you. Fine. You stay up. You stay awake. You're not blowing off your feet, but you're staggered backwards. You end up in a crouch. And the whole scene is just wavering in front of you along with the heat from the flames. For a second, you thought it was just the heat waves, but your whole scene or your whole picture, the whole vista, is wavering back and forth as you try to remain conscious as you are staggered backwards in kind of half-volt the turf down onto one knee. That's the end of task four, spell for this turn. Could you just say test for a spell for him? Um, no, I said test for a flower. Yes. Danny, go ahead. Actually make a roll, Daniel. Make a perception check. I don't think there's any one of us that's like one, one away from dying. You're worried. When did you take damage? Let's see what I got shot. When I got burned. When I got burned. When I got burned. When I got burned. Two successes. Daniel was fine. Yeah. To fire all of it. You look past the task force member with the fangs. And you see Danny Rockland. And now that he can actually breathe, he reaches out and grabs his gremington sniper rifle. And he pulls it up. And he's aiming. Right through both of you. That's great. Like this. All right. I have great faith in this man. You hear a large, obviously ringing shot in this somewhat enclosed building that you're in. And the task force Valkyrie leader staggers forward toward you a couple as he's still holding his face. And now he's reaching around behind him because obviously he was shot from behind. And he seems as if he's quite staggered from what just happened. Nice. My turn. Oh, if only. Michael Kaleid go. I continue on with the kids. I hear the explosions behind me. And I don't know. Keep looking forward. Keep moving. Keep moving. Keep looking forward. Be fast, fair. Go, fair. Go. Go. It was our Christmas girls. That's right. All right. So give me again a role if you try to fend off the feeder demons with your flashlight and your words. You keep bringing a hand up to your mouth, sucking on some blood, asking one of the questions. Two more form in this turn. So there's four more back again that are trying to swirl around you. I feel like dribbling blood with these kids. Right. I had minus three so I'm done to three days. Nope. You don't have minus three. Oh, that's right. Good job. Your meditative mind has got you in a very good place. That's right. Good job. Your meditative mind has got you in a very good place. One zero. And that's it. One success. All right. So one of the feeder demons is caught right in the light of your flashlight and it dissipates in a squeal. The other, there's two more that you're not talking to that are starting to circle around now and the children's voices are starting to quaver and they're definitely becoming more scared as the demons are seeming to encircle them. Go ahead. Well, have I made it to the woods or into the woods by this point? At this point, you've made it on the path into the heavier woods. So now you're on a path with trees up around you. It's the pathway that you are coming up but you're just off the side of it because you're working your way towards the farm step. Now you're working your way back. The demons first appeared when we were out in the field. Is there like a perimeter that they're drawn to or they just... You absolutely hope so as you cross over this turret from... That's what I was kind of hoping that there's some kind of boundary that they... Right. You have passed the grass and you've moved into the woods. So you are technically out of the farm's dead proper. Okay. They're attracted to you. Aren't you a spirit magnet? Yeah, but they're not spirits. They're demons. Sister Kate. Yeah, I'm gonna use my one dice and I think I get a dice if I try to shine my flashlight at these things. Can't you make it holy? Go ahead. Bless your flashlight. I wish I had this one and addiction I can just light it up and make it gone. Like there was. Next time. Let there be light. Is it a time consuming one? I got a time consuming one that I can... You know, give me five, ten minutes I can do, but... We haven't even been here five times. Yeah, I know that. Oh, I miss. Yeah. I got a one. My flashlight goes... Alright, go ahead. And are you not double moving? You're moving. You're right to the edge of the farm's dead. And was that a chance dice? Yes. Or was it just one dice? Oh, it's just one dice. Just one dice is different than a chance dice. Chance dice is you had none and you always get at least one so it's a chance dice. If you're at zero you always get a one die but if you roll a one in that one die it's a dramatic failure. Yeah, I... What are the dice I get to roll again? You get to roll... Dexterity plus weaponry. Dexterity plus weaponry. Oh, minus three dice. I didn't know that. I remember this time. Um, dexterity is three and weaponry is three so actually I have two more dice I can roll. Oh, there's no dice. I got a success right there. Alright, in that case one of the feeder demons unravels and goes to wherever they go. There's one between you and the boundary of the woodlands and the farm's dead. And I can't move my double movement. No, you can't. 'Cause you have a feeder on you. Yeah, it's a boss. But... Okay. Apricade is two. Commissed up. Helicopter see where I'm at. It could. It doesn't seem to have noticed you yet. And where is it in relation to where I'm at right now? Is there? And where? You were hanging out around the fence. Yeah, they're all the way by the fence line. You were like by the door, by the gate. Or by the gate. Because she moves against the dead bodies. Or the tight nut bodies. That is so weird. And zombies. Yes. Rather ineffective. As a combatant. As a combatant. Yeah. It's spooky. I remained unspooked. Well, I'm gonna... I have to kill this crackhead. You gotta do what you gotta do, Jim. Hey, he's coming at me. Let's go where I'm forming. This'll shoot him in the head again. Well, that's six dice. Yeah, rolling six dice. Oh, man. What is this? This is a five. That's amazing. No successes, Jim? No, I miss the end. Well, you know what? You were on your back being eaten by zombies earlier in the evening. So, I think the whole thing has been very unsettling for you. I think you should turn to your business. No, that was me. No, that was me. Or go get... Jim, what are you doing with your movement action? Are you moving down the path? Or are you just gonna keep retreating towards past the... You know, you basically are almost back up against the trailer that you had your very, very bad experience in. That's not good. So, I'm pretty much right here. You're pretty much at the gate by the trailer. I'm gonna hate by the trailer. I'm gonna hate by the trailer. Whatever. This direction. That's where the zombies... And the zombies heading at you from this direction. You've been walking down the fence line driving you back further and further and further and further. A woman in the head. You're really cool, almost left. You're gonna head to the corner of the head. You're the morn building. Alright. It's on fire. They just on fire. They're all on fire. Sorry. Okay. You have all the light you need to see by... Edgard. Alright. I'm going to... Well, okay. Take a nap. There's a good question. Dirt. Nap. Okay. I don't want to hide in the surrounding brush 'cause, you know, it's like a fire. Billies on fire. I don't want any of the brushes. And you want your friends to be able to find you if they... You might want to say, I've been shopping. In the meantime, there's like, how many guns spinning up. But I'm the only available target within 100 yards. I'd rather be hidden. Thank you. No. I think you should. Hi, target. Take it out. I already did that. I already did that. Take it out. Well, let's say they don't target me. What I'm going to do is, for half my turn, I want to stealth in some place that won't be set on fire very quickly. Isn't that what happened at the end of saving private riot? And it, like, threw its gun at it and blew up. But it was 'cause the jet fire was coming. Or that meth jet, the American fighter, right? Warthog. Yes, fully American fighters weren't blowing us up. Yes. If only. You'd like to move behind the silos that are now in flames and try to be stealthy? Well, I don't know if I want to move all that far. I don't know why I'm moving to the woods. I want to do as little moving as possible. Yeah. Well, you're pretty close to that little bit of woods, you know, by the silos there. What I kind of want to do is, I want to stealth and then I want to steady a shot towards them so I can, like, maybe tick out the guy who's vaguely pointed towards me. Right. Stealth away, man. Okay. It's what you do. Stealth plus dexterity minus three for being almost dead. What? Yeah. Three, eight, five. Five days total. And just in case, I'm going to say that he's saying stealth in woods by silos. I'm going to go out in the woods over there. I'm in the woods. I don't feel so good. I feel so good. I got ten. Again. And again. Ooh, another ten. Again. That's it. Just two successes. We're never going to fight. Amazing. We're going to a crouch behind in a very stealthy way in the woods and aim your gun towards the gun chip. Yeah. You don't want to make me really fire because I think you get a bonus one for every turn in which you sit still and aim. Yes. But you must make a stamina check to stay awake. Oh, too. You didn't tell me that. No, every turn. Hang in there. Okay, wait, wait. Here I am. You got medical? Oh. Sorry. I have only the one stamina die. You don't minus your three from that, are you? Never affect your stamina die. Not again. Not again. But I rolled another nine. Edgarn wills himself to stay conscious. That's uh... That's nice and done. Yeah. Sure. Oh. Hello, Daniel. Megan? Yes. Shoot it. Punch it. Shove its face in the fire. Draw on fire in the same turn. Yeah. Sure. As long as that's all I do. Sure. Draw, draw, draw the revolver. Fire silver bullets into this crack of a vampire. Dice mod to firearms to dexterity two. This is six. Six dice? Yes. I'm going to spend my last willpower here. Oh, cool. He still has enough health that he's an effective what's going on. Oh, how nice. Pretty elastic. Now your ass is a little bit on fire. Yeah. I just hope I survive it. Nine dice. Um, nine dice. Very, very nice. You're in close combat range. So you can see the defense twice. How many is that? It's three. Good luck to you. Okay. The three successes then. Just three. He's trying to hit your arm and you aim and you shoot a bright thing. He's going to kill you. He's going to kill you. He's going to kill you. He's going to kill you. He's going to kill you. He's going to kill you. He's going to kill you. He's going to kill you. He's going to kill you. He's going to kill you. He's going to kill you. He's going to kill you. He's going to kill you. He's going to kill you. He's going to kill you. He's going to kill you. He's going to kill you. He's going to kill you. He's going to kill you. I'm going to kill you. I'm going to kill you. He's going to kill you. I'm going to kill you. I'm going to kill you. Jay, you hear a lot of shit upstairs. You hear a lot of shit. I'm breaking saves. I'm breaking saves. Vampire, vampire. Pretty much. Obviously chaos erupting all around. Vampire upstairs. Gatling guns being pulled out. Smoke inhalation download. You did a great job of role. Thank you. I fast draw my pistol. Yes. The one blessed by Sister Katie and from flying up the stairs. All right. And you only have to come flying. So far up the stairs because when you get to head height where you're all the way to top northern sea, what's going on? There's obviously two combatants in the hallway. I don't know. I'm quite staggered. Right. Daniel's to your left against a wall that's smoking and flaming. And the other one looks like a task force Valkyrie agent who is bent over holding his stomach, but it's definitely going to point to the other body. Yeah. I got ten dice. First thing is when you're charging up the stairs, it would be nearly as tough for you. But athletics versus dexterity. Not to fall through the collapsing staircase. That is seven dice free. All right. And you're not gigantic. So no money. No, not gigantic. Two successes. Okay. You sidestep a couple of the holes that Daniel put into the stairway. You get to the top of the stairway. And that is like you don't get to the top of the stairway. You get to right around the first or second hole is that Daniel made. And you can fire awesome rounds because you're out of movement at that point. Right. But you can shoot at the vampire. But we believe it would be a vampire. Okay. What then will do a certain amount of lethal damage until it's exhausted? Until it's exhausted. Until it's exhausted. Once you do an X amount of lethal damage. It's a loss by sister Katie. Yes. Okay. So it's ten dice, minus three dice for the... Well, actually you don't get to the vampire doesn't get defense because you're not within the one to two yard range for close combat. So all you get is his armor, which he has minus three for your role. Unless you're aiming for a specific part of his body. Kevlage two. His Kevlage three. Okay. We are discount Kevlage. You guys get the Kmart version. We'll see your photo. Ten again. So, uh, so three. Three. Three with one ten. He collapses to his knees. That's three lethal. I don't know when your gun burns up. Oh, have you did some with it before already? You did some damage last time. So it's total four. Yeah, we know that because this is actually important because the Kevlar reduces damage from lethal to bashing. If it's blasted in some way, it is a vampire. It might actually allow for some extra faith. We just believe it's a vampire. Right. But thanks, red eyes, and moves lightning fast. I think I told you... I'm trying. I think I told you when I started and I don't know how much damage it does before. What do you roll? I think it was five based on how many die you roll. You roll five successes and then only you could do five lethal damage before a burn hit. I think it was equal to my benediction, which is five. Yeah, let's go with that. So you have one more left in it. Although I have no idea how you know that. But the point being, he slipped down to his knees, seemingly stunned in some way. More so than... Well, not as a more so, but certainly in combination. He's gone through a lot. He's taken three bullet shots in the last three seconds. And that takes us to... Is that aggravated damage any gets? That's what I thought. Because bullets always do this. Yeah, it's aggravated. The weapon can inflict the total amount of that great damage equal to the number of successes rolled. Which I said I don't remember what I rolled. Wow. I mean, successes are rolled. Carrol of five. Yeah. You should rip that down. You should. Yeah, he's quite wounded. The helicopter is wavering in the air. Again, you see the guy shouting in. Now Daniel and Jay, you can actually hear over this particular task force about re-aging. You can hear a little, just a small bit of static coming across of someone screaming and talking into it. That you are sure now. Well, yeah, because there's a disconnect there because you don't see the outside guy talking. But you saw him talking before. Now you see this guy having words coming over as a headset. He staggers to his feet, but he does not look well. You ready to fight again? Well, he staggers to his feet, looks at you specifically. Not pleased. He makes a really like a hiss that just stands your hair on edge. And in a blink, he is through the window. More back trash? No. Through the window that was already. Oh, good. That he broke. That giant butt already opened. You get your ass and back open up pretty well, so he just shoots through there and you have no idea. I mean, literally again, it's like you blink and he is gone. Almost because he's invisible, but there's just a slightest bit of motion that you catch to see that he's gone. The helicopter itself outside for those of you who are still outside and conscious. The helicopter is wavering. The two gunners get behind on either side. And you see him opening up and basically getting the machine locking and loading it. But the capture is wavering back and forth. For one second, they lock and load. They're scanning for targets. And then it starts to arc across the skyline. It is facing towards right now the south west towards the silo. It arcs to the west, to the north west, to the north east. So it basically turns about and starts to to low across the trees to the northern part of the farmstead. That is the task force turn. That takes us to the person who goes west, which is the zombie, which still can't catch. We're occurring, Dylan. Yes. He lives? Yeah. Are you sure this guy has a retreat? No. I'm worried he doesn't. They don't pick him up. And he hums us as we go back to our car. Oh, I don't think he's in any condition on anybody. What is it? It's fast. He's pitching fast, but I'm telling you. Did you can't heal back damage or something? It's a presumption. A presumption. He... I guess he was one. Did he get a gaming? He had two. They were bashing in his last two. He had aggravated for his first three lethal for his next three and then bashing for two more. Anything would have taken the last two bashing and turned into the lethal and knocked him unconscious. So it was two more damage for him to be out of action in a metagaming sense. But the copter turns around and starts heading more away from the farmstead. Everything is in flames. One last thing. Um, sure. Just double checking real quick to make sure Danny is holding his antique rifle. And he brings it to bear on you because you're only one who can really see. Although you are a bit off the side. You raise your hands up in defense and he is trying to keep awake. And you see him slump over. I mean he had his gun train right on you. You raise your hands up. He pointed towards you and he fell forward in the gun's tumbles on his hands. Is this all those bolt actions? Thanks. Yeah, it's a bolt actions. It's an old-style gun. And that's it. Oh, good night.
