[Music] Hello and welcome to the Knights of the Night actual play podcast. This world of darkness story she ran and was written and run by her storyteller Scott. [Music] And now please enjoy episode 112. Stick a needle in your eye. Actual play starts 11 minutes, two seconds. [Music] All right before we get into the episode I went first I want to mention that last episode in this episode the sound quality is a little muddy and that's because they reported it was switched over to MP3 rather than wave you should like oops check that each week yeah tape it over yeah quality check tape it over we've been trying to do that since the last time we accidentally put a hundred episodes we'd think we'd figure that out. Also on the on the drive over here I got an email it announced that Pete fig tree who does the ruthless diastome podcast he's a teacher and he uses role-playing games in the school he also was the one who did the disc and dice event he's gonna do it this summer as well he did it last summer we went to it's a gaming event it's absolutely blast we had a good time but his podcast has been on kind of a hiatus in his back so I just want to give a shout out to Pete and listen to the episode he discussed journey the ps3 video game yeah I know John and Thomas I think both played that gave him played it as well it's definitely a different unique and very cool game and Pete's podcast is like five minutes long so it's really enjoyable and people should give it a listen literally five minutes literally five minutes short it's very short but he doesn't every week and oh sometimes longer but in general they're they're short we have some face book feedback episode 110 shit got real Ari said and this is in reference to Chris who said what the fuck guys what have you gotten yourself into if you remember yes yes Ari says what Chris this episode works like well something that winds up tightening as it goes in the end I was attacking nice pressure from the gym and sweaty palms from the players now onward to the next episode so thanks for the feedback Ari yes the hitting and loathing instead of the sweaty palms from the players comes later and shit continues to pile on these are like spoilers what is this sky adventure people don't know it's going to get worse or it's always going to get worse before it gets better sometimes he forgets us let it get better okay you guys won last time who survived we though is that is that winning surviving is that was out in the world of darkness in the world darkness that's a win episode 111 trailer trash Ari also was excited he said excellent just happened to have a lengthy ride ahead of me so it's this will really be nice for the road so again Ari it's always great to hear from you and thanks for the feedback on kotmpodcast.com website episode 109 wounds Mandingo posted Mandingo and Dingo I just got into this podcast and I'm enjoying it so far regarding your response to feedback during the episode I think it's admirable of you to respond to the comments you get but I recommend splitting it off into its separate podcast I usually listen to several episodes in a row I doubt I'm alone in doing this and the feedback response really breaks the rhythm of the story if the episode were two to three hours then four to five minutes at the outset wouldn't bother me too much but with 30 minute episodes I don't think it works too well I think the episode length actually works well because it lets you update regularly without having numerous long play sessions that eat into your personal lives if you want to build an audience for the podcast the number one best way to do it is to be consistent and have a dependable release schedule that listeners can rely on and the briefer chopped up sessions lets you create that sort of schedule good feedback by Mandingo yes it was an opposing view as to what we've been getting back on getting a lot of comments are fine but always good to hear a contrarian point of view what are we doing to warn people about when the feedback ends so they can skip ahead it's in the notes it's in the release that I do on both facebook and on our website and also in the last couple of episodes I've been putting it in the very beginning when I say this is nights of the nights this is the episode and the actual play starts over at 50 minutes in addition to all that I've been making the episodes longer so that the actual play is about an hour long regardless of how long the feedback is so some of the episodes are an hour and 30 minutes then that's fine it's an hour and 30 minutes it's 30 minutes of feedback in an hour long of the episode right I'm wondering if you play at the end someone could listen to the show and then just go to the next show and not have to and just skip it if they didn't want it whereas if it's at the beginning they have to if they're driving they have to literally look down and hit buttons more buttons to get to right to the beginning how do I want to leave it in the beginning because if there's anything we ever want to tell them then most people are going to make a separate announcement if there's something big well then we're putting something at the beginning and something at the end kind of well if it's a big announcement one time in the year or whatever you know that there's a frequently do we have an ounce well see pretty much we have a member remind them a lot that use the Amazon exactly you could say that before each episode it takes two seconds I don't want to change a podcast every time someone gives us a little bit of feedback we've had a lot of people tell us they like it just the way it is we have one person that says that his style is a little different if we hear from a lot of people that's saying yeah we agree because he's right a lot of people do come to the podcast and have to go back two weeks ago that they if it starts running longer than ten minutes they get frustrated by it because they want to be able to listen to the show so just throw it out there it's not just been one okay it's been two out of yeah i wonder keeping this alley but i think it's been like oh it's the vast majority and yeah well the vast majority are silent why don't you put up a poll and ask the users we did already we did that once but we can put up a poll with different verbiage that just as you know you wanted at the end you wanted at the beginning you wanted a separate one and you know all right well we'll consider it we'll consider a poll um tell me give what they pay for we'll charge you half from now on half price there was also post on rpgcrustock.webs.com from mike's favorite unbound book he shivers every time i say that oh now he shakes his head and scuffs today unbound book says you can just make up anything and just say that i'm like strawberry don't make it it's awful unbound book says hi tom although i was just catching up on your podcast since before christmas and i'm about to start episode 111 i just thought i'd drop a line about the option to supplement your amazon link on your website being from new zealand i don't use amazon very often if at all but i do purchase a number of hard variance really but i do purchase a number of pdfs from rpg now and drive through rpg i see that both of these sites run an affiliate program allowing websites to gain commissions for sales going through them and he gives the links for both of those hmm just highlighting the options for the future as i know both myself and my friends would happily go through your link to get our gaming fix keep up the good work mark us well two things it wouldn't be hard to do to add that and look into that and and our last bit of feedback is from our feedback at qotn podcast.com email in which kell ordo said i'm glad everybody liked the memorandum template yes i did just google test force balcony and slide it into the header i would have done a siren emblem in place of TFE but there isn't one as far as i know hearing everyone comment and it sparked an idea and i designed my suggestion for one let's actually show every beat the test force fire and that's that would be the shield other man is going to be a shirt i'm going to get and i'll put it up on facebook and mike's gonna wear a shirt oh that's gonna be awesome yeah those places we can get the shirt made with your own envelope i'm going to get that embroidered so our fans are going to go to our facebook page to see it um it's it's leatherman in the perfect mascot for this group of misfits an infinitely useful and useless tool not too different in fact did he really say that he really say that it was not me it's not like something town would say yeah not too different in the fact from how the team solves problems struggles scrape and bleed but in the end they get the job done and that's all that matters i hope everyone has a good laugh out of eye of the individual who is not his eye lining it up go ahead and put your guys together i'm spending a well i have 16 dice this is an incredible shot you're trying to go through the scope of the of the rifle or very close to that because that's really all that shung out is the rifle barrel and the scope so you're putting a shot right through well i got a hole in the building but i'm assuming he's standing away from this so there's no longer anything visible from that hole correct i don't even look there i just come up and aim right down this barrel 16 dice what i got minus that's just an incredible shot so the eye is minus five okay that's what it says the head is a minus three minus five right here so you're trying to shoot someone in the eye at this distance which is not long range is covered there's definitely i mean i can see where i can apply a minus three for all the glass of this total cover but that's concealment i think i'm going to have to give a guy's way that cardinal so by actually the cardinal offense of a sniper you never shoot from the same position right which shows that you do not go to sniping school right is what that shows and yeah i can't really give him concealment because it's just i yeah it's his eye i i i can't see i can see but there will be some you know for going through the you know they'll be like the glass right and it's wonderful but not nice one to your dice but you don't have to go through the arms of all your traits right penetration school cookbook minus five times i'm not going to be from that minus the dark because you have a night vision scope and it's not one just two three four five six successes that's exceptional success durability of one i'm not done oh can i go ahead continue on sorry seven eight nine oh no more damage except in the eye every hit also delivers a potent tranquilizer that gives target a minus one penalty to all roles once the targets penalties from the tranquilizer are equal to his stamina he must spend a point of willpower or lose consciousness okay if he remains active each further hits with a trink round requires another willpower expenditure the negative amount of fire wears off after ten minutes oh my god one of ten minutes takes that a lot of time so you had nine successes your tranquilizer dart breaks the glass of his sniper rifle and you see it enter his eye with a greenish blast of blood through your night vision scope you see the rifle waiver backing forth as if someone lost me its grip on it but it doesn't fall because it was definitely on some type of stance of some sort and you see something can be quickly down which you would anticipate being perhaps this body dropping in pain or writhing in some sort of agony to do do the fact that your trink dart struck him right in the eye he got a slight no more no probably i think i just uh give him a patch under my breath i remember stop shooting at my men and in the mic i say colonial's new julys and it's your belief that that was danny ronlin yes it was by the way pride is my advice yeah and when you say stone colonial neutralized you have a flashback to when you first heard about danny ronlin which wasn't from daniel well actually it was from daniel he knew who he was but something strange happened right after daniel came to your group with the idea that he might know why these test force coffee agents disappeared it might have a link to it which is the name danny ronlin so you're sitting around the guys drinking a beer killing time you return from dc and you have this is about a week to ten days before the events of tonight happen and you're all sitting around bullshitting about danny ronlin the fact he was this name you can't find him anywhere you've looked around you researched it his name isn't anywhere and all of a sudden on your your government issue phone that you've never got a message unless it's been from one of your team members from task force siren you get a i am that comes across or to be a text message you know whatever you think you would be using and you can go ahead for our listeners and because you're sitting around the table with all your friends talking and you can go ahead and read up the message is what is one plus one plus one equal trick question the answer is always a conspiracy all right which one you asked all sunset danny is that a booty call the assumption is i am or a text has someone came from this does not test out the name that it comes from is binary text h-e-x are you the uh tech guy michael y i suppose it didn't be sure how was that am got one again and you just miss a turn while you're booting back up again because you can't even think about your thing i can't write out here while she's rebooting he's my phone trace him out there we'd be minus the equipment bonus but he's still be able to use something well am i able to well do i i can't do anything unless i'm using a computer okay oh sparkle i'm a laptop dude but you uh what what he needs to be on his computer because that's where all over here can't be used on your phone to do some tracing on that while he's waiting for his he won't have the equipment bonus of his up he wrote another exceptional success and he f*cked you over hard wait a second and uh he just kicked your ass sorry you're dealing with the high-level aggravation that's what he was saying not me because i i think that if this doesn't be my friend he is a mess this is exactly hey he didn't roll exception success i closed my laptop i think i can't turn into this guy he passed over to take it
