The team heads towards a final confrontation with the enemy.

But their alliance is starting to fray a bit around the edges.

(upbeat music) - Hello, and welcome to "The Knights of the Night" actual play podcast. This Dresden Files story's neutral grounds is run by our GM Tom. And now, please enjoy episode seven, titled "The B-Team." (upbeat music) (upbeat music) - My name is Tyler, I will be a leader for this evening. I am running the business file. Neutral grounds and starting on my left. The players are. - John playing Zach, Mayor, Prentice Wizard. - Tyler's playing Martin Capouti. They were targets like detective. - Mike playing Sean Barnes, a metal head werewolf. - Scott playing Nate Falakis, Emo Whitecourt Virgin. - When last we played, you guys saved Frank Williams. He was bound actually in the home of Eric McCollum in the living room about floating medical land mines all around him. Once he was safe, you searched the house and from it, you found out some information having to do with current whereabouts or we believe the current whereabouts of Eric McCollum are and that would be Fort McCollum. - You, Zach, happened to find out that there was a map depicting the lay lines that go throughout the city and one very big one that goes over and seems to terminate a top of Fort McCollum. - Chigno Mancy. - You're outside of Eric McCollum's house who actually went to the car. I believe the lady in the neighborhood goes on the figure. - And Mike gave her a heart attack. - And I thought. - I gave her some intimidation in threatening gestures. - She was actually pointing at Mark with the shape and finger but Sean stepped in and snarled there. - Scarl. - See, when you do that, it kind of makes me sound like it should be wearing like a little leash or like a, like a, a neck-rechief. - Snarl. - No, you wish it. - No one should wear a neck-rechief. - So you guys are in the car. It's about midday. - The pods are rolling in, it's looking a little bit. Possibility of a storm. - Possibility of a storm. - You guys are at, it might be the final confrontation there. It should be lightning. - You guys are in the car. You're on the edge of e-screen. - I'm driving. - Right. - And you're going and doing launch. - Are we going to Fort McCollum? - We have to save Diane. - Okay. - Barrel on. - Just as long as we don't actually save anyone. - Hey, look to Zach, I know, you know, what does it mean to have this confluence of all this energy in one place? Do you have any idea? - I'm a geo-mancer. - See where they did there? - Yeah. - No idea. Bad shit. - If you would like to make a large roll. - That sounds-- - It's a pretty-- - Yeah, I'll take-- - I'll take-- - What did that? - Good. - And if I remember, well, Eric, who we didn't think had powers up until a few, a while ago, and you said that that the grenades, the magical circle that Frank was in, was they pretty sophisticated bit of magic, right? That was beyond you. That was more powerful than you or the same. I mean, could you do it? - He didn't unravel it. - He did unravel it, so that's true. So you are up to the task, so-- - Could I set up my own, or you ask me? - But, you know, I guess my point is, is there anything odd about how fast Eric seems to have manifested powers, and what does that mean? - Yeah, it's a bit odd. Well, since he didn't have any, he either procured them through a deal with somebody, I'm not really sure the many ways he could have gotten them. I know that's at least one. - I guess I'm saying-- - Was it something bigger? - We're gonna have to fight. - If I go after him, if I go for the kill, or should I go for the kill? - If you don't kill him, the council won't. - Okay. - Don't go with that. - We drive him towards him before McKinley. I'm a little bit concerned about facing a wizard. - Diane. - So you wish you had discussion along the way, or? - My feral instincts are kicking in, so fight or flight, foul survival. - What do I know? - Maybe a good son will come out of it. - Okay, arm. - He's got mind manipulation powers, right? - Did you? - Call him arm. - Right, maybe he has to be strong in our discipline. - Yeah, yep, I don't know. - I got that, that skill would help in defending against it. The only sort of thing he's gonna be able to blast you with, I imagine, would be a stun. Anything like manipulating him to do your will would require long-term practice, and setting up a magic spell and stuff. Not something you can't just do that, like, no. You can't go like this and toss 'em. - Shoot you in the head, toss 'em, not toss 'em. - Sorry. - I just wanted green light to go after him, that's all. - Yeah, you've got that. - Even if I don't have a green light, I would still do it. - For all those are normal. - As you're driving along the way towards Fort McHenry, one thing you come to is a park-like area. A lot of this area is owned nationally, because it's historically, so you might get it. But there is an area that's called Federal Hill Park, and one of the features of Federal Hill Park is a humongous hill. And that hill, when you're on top of it, has a grand view of the entire valley, the bay, and can even see as far down as Fort McHenry. But one of the reasons I mention Federal Hill Park is there is a urban legend in the Baltimore area of a tunnel that runs from Federal Hill to Fort McHenry, and it was originally installed so the rumor goes, so that if Fort McHenry was ever the siege, because of its location, English boats on the river could easily attack any forces sent in to reinforce our food sent in. So this tunnel was dug to prevent that from happening and allow them to resupply the fort. That's the rumor, and the urban legend is that it's a very bad, bad place to be in those tunnels. And those in the know, as far as magical goes, you, Zach, have run into gold before, and the rumors involved tomorrow is that's where the goals were there in the tunnels, leaving from there. - No, I know you've mentioned, we've heard stories of the ghoul. - Gilgamesh. - Gilgamesh. - I pissed off Gilgamesh. - You did. So does he have a blood price on your head, or does he know where to find you, or are we getting too close to his territory on our way to Fort McHenry? - It wouldn't be his territory, but if he had any of his minions there, I might be able to scare my way through rather than fight them. - I'm not sure, I mean, if he were there, we'd be screwed. - That's okay. I like the idea of crossing the other people's territory. We're not driving. We've got a market territory. - Yeah, I'm the youngest one here, and I don't know all that much, but what I'm getting here is we could drive right there and confront him. Or we could stop two miles away, crawl through tunnels and fests with ghouls, and then maybe be like totally exhausted and beat up by the time we get there. - Hey, whoa. - Let's just drive there. - I mean, the tunnels sound cool, and I can really get my emo on down there, but seriously, let's just drive there. - Wait, wait, wait, wait. How big are these tunnels? They're supposed to be able to transport lots of goods to them. Can't we just take the mystery machine through the tunnels? Would that not be 10 times cooler than driving through a street? - It would be 10 times cooler, but I get the idea that-- - You guys drive upstairs. - I don't know. These tunnels, they might have inclined planes. - Oh, and by the way, Diane's life might depend on it. So let's go slaughter through some tunnels for four hours, and it wasn't my way of time. - Whose idea was it? Why are you looking at me? You're driving? - I've drive to the Fort McHenry. - This is driving a truck. - And I pass by the hill. - This is so very boring. - And all the interesting stuff there, the next time you can just afraid, say so. It's okay. - Okay. - You pass by the park? - Driving the-- - The really intriguing part. - I have no problem with passing by the park. - You drive past about another two miles of road before you get to Fort McHenry. You get to the front gate, and there is a little gate house, and there's a gate down, and it says close to public to it. - Got it. - No. - Rules over the federal hill. - No. - That's not how that works. - 'Cause if you don't-- - We're not just so trained to trap each other into doing it, because only they don't wanna do it. But it does sound appealing to me. - I know the rules. - Can you even break through it? - Well, first of all, I'm not stupid, so-- - Not for normal. - True. But I don't like on the line. - There's a gate. There's a guard shack there. Doesn't appear to be in any of that. - No, but the, I'm sorry, the gate that was closed. I mean, is it something that's like silent? - It's dirty about to hurt your van. - Yeah. - It's like one of those things that's like a-- - Oh, you know, you-- - Oh, like a rail crossing, like a little-- - Okay, oh. - No, not a rail. I was talking to it, and it has to get two by four. You know, I mean-- - Oh, please. - It was striped, but it's down and it says close to-- - Well, that's exactly-- - That's the good thing we're gonna have to play like that. - Let's get it, let's get it. - I throw you right in point and say rules are for an arm. - Absolutely, let's go through. - A little bit of a driving skill, because this requires you not to start-- - It won't start to be. - Like, I only want average. - Well, that's good, because I have no skill whatsoever in this. So this, oh, okay. I'm just gonna roll my dice. (bell dings) - Ooh. - Hell yeah. - That's a two. - Bust it on the dice, and your skill is-- - Zero. - Which is more than one. So you successfully navigate through here. It's actually kind of a thin thing, which was what the problem was. - Yeah, brow. - You snap the bar off, but you don't manage to hit the little garden shack or the tree on the other side. You run over to-- - You're gonna blow right through. - Fingers. - Feeling good. - Get away from me. You're pulling-- - I'm driving. - You're pulling into a large parking lot, and it is empty. There's not a single car in there. - Should you slam on the brakes and skid? Will that make you feel tough? - Could we have like lifted up? - Who can look at the A-Team? (sings) No, wait. - Give me a joke. - No, that's what-- - It's nobody. - That's gonna bug me. - No, no, it's not. - I really don't. - You move on. - You've been sitting any time, and I wouldn't know if you didn't. - (sings) - You've been sitting any time. (sings) - Why, he's singing, you're gonna be cutting that. - Oh, I have to get a little bit tall. - There's no puns in there. Anyway, the point is that we skid to a halt, and actually, I would roll to have a really, kind of a cool skid. - I'm not gonna give you-- - You know, too. - If you like, hark in the handicap song. - No. - No, no, no, no. - I guess that's petty rules for no. I'm just saying I was gonna go for a little finesse. - Rules are for no rules, I'm handy, I'm damn it. - Eat it. - You park across six handicapped spots. - You better do this word. - Go ahead. - I'll let you roll for this word. - If you roll badly, you better roll car over. - That's okay. - We're in Climes College last in our hands. - All right, this is a-- - Well, I'm excited for, you know, running through the gate. - The word is still like, I'm really not that hard to do. - Whoa. - Damn it. - Mine is three. - I'm gonna damn it, I'm gonna fail you. - That is beyond terrible. - Terrible. - Terrible, and then there was that driving roll. And you know those little-- - They're so bad. - They don't even list it how bad it could be. - Well, let me think of it, 'cause I'll accept it. - Do you want me to-- - You know the little bumper things they have in between where you're supposed to stop? - You ran right over one of them. - All right. - You know where it's in those cement little things. - Sure. - And you blew out one of your tires. So your van stops, it wasn't any skid at all, and you busted one of your rims, you think? - I'm willing to accept two rims. - Terrible. - Since it's a negative three. - Oh, that's a fit. - You popped two rims. It was, it was-- - I was there a tire per minus. - Well, I could roll-- - Well, I could roll. - Yeah, the four tires. But two is enough because you got one spare, and it's pretty sad to be in with the new one. - Your screw two tires at this point. - This is not a good way to go. - Yeah, you just realized you ain't going anywhere. - We're gonna have to go through the tunnels on the way out. - Well, this is Baltimore Boyz. - It's your H-Track. - The H-Track tape that was playing the 18 music jammed, and you hear that the tape being strunched in there as you-- - So your van has two flat tires, you will not be escaping with this vehicle. - What? - I guess so. - Maybe we don't have to. - I took my chances, that's okay. - Our chances? - Well, we don't know. - That's right, I'm a great-- - I'm a great point. - Oh, I see, so. - I'm an old guy. - Negative seven. - You're on fire. - No, I was going to say that was a stupid idea, and I realized I'm the old guy, I couldn't say that. That was a stupid idea. - Oh, he's an old ink hanker, isn't he? - I'm old. - As you guys are getting out of the van, you see, off towards the fort, coming towards you, the ranger vehicle. - This is not gold. - See? - A new vehicle. (laughing) - The gods provide. - And now-- - It's mine! - I think it's gonna give it the escape vehicle. Okay, we're going with intimidation, which probably won't work, or deceit, which probably won't work. (laughing) - Say in a letter or a sec. - I think deceit could work. Your vehicle's out of control. I mean, look, would you have made this parking if you didn't, like, smash? - Yeah, that's not bad. - That's actually best to see on half. - Look at it, we can use this-- - You can actually-- - That's actually-- - That doesn't like any doesn't like it. - We can tell them that, where the brakes went out, and when they look at it, we can-- - We can snap the brakes and then what? - They render them unable to stop us from what we need to do. - They're just police officers. - No, it's not, not to kill them, just to render them unconscious. - No, no, no, no. - You know the three quarters of the way here? - Obviously coming directly for you, and you see in the front seat is only one officer. - Oh god, this is easy. - And it's female. - Oh, man. - Oh, I got this. - Oh, no, that's the first time. - Oh, well. - No, no, no, no, no. I think maybe I got this. - I got this. - I got this. - Who doesn't fall for it? Come on. - What has he done? - He needs to do this. - Absolutely nothing. He's done nothing. - I have to put it on here. - She gets out on her little badger. She says, "Walk her." - That's true, right? - Just sees you look at the badger's mouth. She scowls at you. - New. - Gentlemen. - Officer. - It's a heart ranger on the car. - Right, I still call our officer 'cause it seems to be a polite term of respect. So I start with the officer. - Gentlemen, apparently you can't read. - No, officer, our brakes went out on the vehicle. We almost died. Can you please help us? We need to know what happened. We think someone toyed with the brake system. - Toyed. - Alle emo. So I'm trying to seat. So put together a story of broken brakes, a dangerous ride down the hill, and a skid out and a wipe out. And just to get her maybe in some place where she turns her back to us for a moment, and we can incapacitate her. - That's a great problem. - That's all I got. - There are no problems here. - I see nothing wrong with this. - Actually. - You can't tell the rest of them that's what you're doing because she's standing right there. - Sure, of course not. She does walk over to the car and start looking at the tires, which are both blown up. And at that time-- - And she's been in the over to look at the tires today. I'm going to-- - Anything you have to walk to the safer? - This is the most mild-- - I was trying to to deceive her. I know it doesn't-- - I mean-- - I mean, you pointed out the fact that you car lost control. She just, like, looks at the front and sees both of them. So she's facing the car, looking at the fact that both of your tires are blown out in your cars. That rocking, but it's straddling the parking, yeah, cement divider. - Okay, if I can flip her in the back of the head and knock her out with a donkey punch, I will. - Mr. level-headed gentleman, Martin Capukti, who used to be a police officer, sees this rock band werewolf dude walking up behind a park ranger about to clock her when you realize that's not-- - Gentlemen. - Good. - As far, I mean, this is a officer of the law. You respect those. - That's not a real thing. (laughing) - She's a park ranger. - She's not, she's a park ranger. - Are you tossing me back another fake point? - No, I'm just not a real policeman. - I just wanted to make that point because she's not. (laughing) - That was your point? - I think you pissed off all our park ranger, listen. (laughing) - I just-- - I've got someone from the CDC, you listen. We may have some park rangers. - All right, fine. - Can you retract that statement if you really wish to? - No, you can say-- - Your character might believe that. - That's generally how police officers feel. That's how-- - What's Clumbull? - Clumbull. - Seriously, should a woman be serving in your car? - Wait, wait, wait, wait. She may have been hit in a woman. - No. - That's why you got a fake point. - Should y'all think of her as a fellow officer? - It's a woman. - He's about to end her. - Ken Martin-- - I'm about to render her unconscious for her own protection. - Back in your hand. - Are you guys whispering-- - Really? (laughing) - I'm saying-- - Oh, fair enough. - So something she was pulling up is to my intents to the seat and I said I want to take this, I got this. - Yeah, you definitely said that. - No, I mean, but Clumbull, I have said-- - Wait. - My idea is to give, you know, two people's thinking about her unconscious, I'll just get her turned around and then just take Clocker. I mean, it only takes a few seconds to say that. - But isn't that what you just did? They should just give me the signal to do something to work? - Yeah. - That non-verbal signal to me. - Which is fine, either way it goes, whether he heard-- - I didn't want Martin to be like blindside but my plan 'cause-- - What, whether he heard it and then he saw it in action and it bothered him? - Okay. - You know. - Yeah, you can buy that. - There's a man about to hit a woman in the back of the head. He doesn't like it. - She doesn't like it. - No, she's actually, rather than the petite, he'll never know her name, will you? - No. - Ranger. - But she'll lure-- - And we'll leave. - Walker. - I don't know if I can do anything about this. - Which is-- - Like I as a character, Martin's not very good. It's stopping trying to get one of those. You gotta get me out small women. - Well, I'm human unless I shoot him. - And by the way, I'm probably only wearing my spot pants. - My fault. - It's him and your lord. - I'm just saying. - Don't have a television. - You aren't actually faster than him. - You can shout out and warn her. - So you may do whatever you think. You should be done. - Talk to her. - But I'm saying-- - Talk to her. - If you get her to turn around. - She can't be beaten in the back of the head. She can see this where we'll come on. - Me. - This is the man. - Wait, can't say that. - He's nowhere. He's a man. - I have rapport and fare. I can actually talk to her. But I'm not sure what I would say besides how you do it. (laughing) - Janet, just calling in to turn around it. You try to pass this off to something else, along with the role. - Like what? - All right, you guys can't argue about this. The fact is, you've got a woman who's about to get hit in the back of the head. - Are you throwing her back for that? - Because you wanna do something about it. What is this something you wanna do? - I'm going to punch the werewolf. - Or maybe I was just gonna tap her on the shoulder. - You didn't let me continue my action. - 'Cause we've already tapped her with an action. (laughing) - Quite figured. I got someone to say to her. - Yeah, I'm really not sure what else Martin could do besides either interrupt the werewolf or-- - Who's the fastest player? - Martin. - Martin, by far. - How do you determine that? - Alertness. - That's for combat initiative. - Yeah. - Which is apparently what this is. - Gotcha. - I have one. - Could I empathize with the werewolf? Can I empathize with Sean over here to not punch this woman? - You could call out at him, "Hey, there, Sean, buddy," and try to stop him. Get her to stand up. You could go and push him away from her. Anything. What would you care to do? - You're challenging me Martin? - Yes, that's the idea. I'm either trying to stop you from punching this woman in the back of the face 'cause she's not playing in the back of the face. - Back of the head. - Back of the head while she's not-- - That's how hard I'm going to hit her. - For the greater good. - It's not for argument. What are you doing to stop him? - This is, I'm going to call out to her very, very simply. So, ranger lady, officer, walker. - She turns around. - Well, it depends on when she goes, 'cause she might go after the werewolf does. His warning might fall on deaf ears. Well, deaf until he punches-- - Dude, this is what I'm gonna do. - This is how I'm gonna deal with this. You want to call out to the ranger. What you're doing is you're giving her an assist. You're doing a maneuver to give her a warning to probably prevent her from taking damage. The difficulty in preventing her from taking damage is going to be fair, plus two. - With what's going on? - So, your skill would be, we'll go with presence that you are going to command her attention against a difficulty of two. - Later one. She apparently ignores you, which ends, it turns out, is beneficial for the group, but you just have to warn her. - Speaking is pretty fast action. Would you say that's a supplementary action? Could I also do something else? - Yes, you can always do something else. - Now, could I-- - And supplemental actually would be at minus one, so you've tried to warn her. It seems to have failed, but it's at minus one, which-- - Yeah, I only, I don't have a mic, I have fists. And I was gonna try and maneuver to knock him on his throttle. But at minus one, I'd have, like, two, plus zero, it'd be total luck. - Yeah, you could attempt to do that. - Maybe push his fist out of the way, is it negative aspects? - Are you trying to with, like, to actually physically move him, or are you just trying to hit him to distract him? - You got one chest, or you got one, like-- - Tastes. - All right, so I-- - Yeah, zero, exactly zero. - This is plus one. - You get to defend with zero-- - I have minus one, 'cause it's a supplementary action. - Yes. - You get to defend with your fist, or you get to just use athletics to kind of sidestep it. - I will sidestep him since he's never worth my fist. He's going to try and attack me. - Two. - Even out of the dice. - Oh, three, good. - And then your athletics is three. - So-- - My athletics is three. - Like a charging bowl, you just slightly slip aside and let him go. - Like an agile wolf. - And then-- - Should've just shot him. (laughs) - And then it shots, sure. - You tried-- - I'm trying to miss. - You earned your fake one. - You tried, you yelled for her attention. She ignored you, and then you tried to push him away and fail. - Okay, we're gonna cause more problems. - You did shot him, but that would've been exciting. - I wouldn't have missed the officer. - No, what the hell? (laughs) - I saved you. (laughs) - You shot him, man. - Well, if I would've known you had a gun, or remember that you had a gun, we'd just pull the gun out of her and told her to-- - So I got better and better. - What's your thing? I hit in the back of the head. I'm not thrilled about hitting the woman on the back of the head either. - So now he's gonna jump in. - So hi, Jack. - No kidding. - Oh, go ahead. - All right, take her out. - So, sad tapper on the shoulder. - You can't hit a woman in the back of the head. - No, she turns, then you punch her. - No, that's a good idea. (laughs) - What's this? (laughs) - Done, then I say, we got here as fast as we could. Where's Eric now? - Oh, we changed from a punch to a diplomatic gun. - No, I can use my rapport or my hot body, or my intimidation factor. - Whatever she cares more about. (laughs) - That's the punching. - That's something that's naked. - That's my favorite spell. - I'm taking a gamble that I was trying to, I couldn't figure out how to explain to anyone, but... - Good luck. (laughs) - All right, what is it you're trying to do? - I think that she is under Eric's influence again. Or as well. - Okay. - Just like you're-- - Not again. - As well. - Okay. - So I'm trying to play up the idea that we're here with his knowledge and that she will try to tip something. And if it fails, or if I don't get the answer I want, then I will knock her out for her own good. - Okay. - So you're not trying to trick her or any way, you're just simply asking me a question. - Right. - Yeah, I'm not trying to fast talk her. - Okay. - I guess maybe her core would be, if we got here as fast as we could, we're Eric. - She-- - First impressions. - Right, she's crowd, well there's no, there's no, he's not trying to cause her any damage or trick her or doing it, he's simply asking her a question. - Right. - And she stands up from her crouch position where she was looking at tires and turns her into hair. What are you talking about? Eric, who? - Paul. - All right. - You notice before in the eyes of the guy you called Shelly that he had that glaze look in, she showing no sides and then he-- - No glaze. - No, I think it knows. - And I don't know. - Unless you want to look deeper and nothing obvious. - Sniff. - But she truly looks confused, like, what? - To be more concatenated. - I told you guys were close. - What do you-- - All right, so then I say nothing personal and I often try to knock her out. - Hey, the whole reason behind my whole gambit of, look down was to get her in her vulnerable and repositioned, I don't know. - But you gave that up by talking to her and have her stand up and turn back around. - Right. - So just fist brawling. - So you attempt two hit talkers. - Breathe, good. - She is attempting to dodge the fist. - Well, I forgot to add something because of my rural mobility. - Sure. - I have inhuman strength as a wearable boat. - I'm sorry, you're absolutely right. Everything on that side is a wearable. - Sorry. - Okay, so you're still at clustering. Her athletics is fair, which is two, and her role is even. - So her defense is two. So your three means that you do one stress and then if you have anything that is considered a weapon, for instance, in human strength or speed or-- - That's the return to the pimp hand. - There you go. - Now I'm gonna be the title. - Return to the pimp hand. - You now have the ability to spend any fake points to off that damage because right now you kind of gave her a love to have a minimum. Everybody has two stress. You just did one. You didn't even see what would be a normal person's physical. - So she reacted and deflected enough to-- - Yes. - Is that it? - Yeah. - Okay, am I allowed to spend more than one fake point to try and-- - Is yes, as many as you have, as long as you have aspects that justify them. - Snarl. - So how much would I have to pay to knock her out? - You really don't know how much damage she can take, but I'm telling you the average person has at least two stress boxes in the physical. - Well then I will spend one entire point of-- - Then I will spend one to add a point of damage to that relevant. - You would be, if you have an aspect that's appropriate for those, it would be plus two. - Well, I'm in trouble. So the short one is Snarl. In a way, I could probably say I can't be a wolf all the time and I have to be a man and step up and take care of this this way. - I'll accept any of this. - Okay. - Which one are you using? - I will use the, can't be a wolf all the time, so I guess sometimes throw-- - Okay, so that takes it up to three damage to her. - Okay. - Unfortunately, she has three physical stress box, so that just takes off the third box. - Okay. - So she's still conscious. - I get to be darned, huh? - Nice. - Jan Walker. - This would be in a little park ranger. I will have no part of this. - After Shawn is Zach. So it is you. - So I hate to say I beat her with my staff, but I've got this giant wolf staff. - Private and staff. - His staff is much longer than your staff. The people have one. - I don't need one. - Whoa. - Minus one and I only have a skill affair, plus two, so only plus one. Take care of it. - Okay, whoa, whoa, whoa. - It's like a weapon, it's two, we smoke that. - It doesn't have to, you hit him. - Right. - Yeah, it's still the damage not to the fifth. And with her athletics of two, and her rolling a minus one, that makes it one, which matches your one, which means no damage is done except for the weapon, which is too stressed to her, this way. - And then the emo would go-- - Then, Nate goes next. - I don't really want to hurt her. She's the staff. - We're hurting her for her own good. - Maybe she would like the greater good. So when you chain thing, be it the way you don't have to stab her. - The necklace comes off the heart necklace and she gets clubbed side to head with the heart necklace. (squeaking) - She's gonna take it all in first. - Four, four, I don't know if the heart shaped necklace gets anything. Actually, I was sending it for a really dramatic moment, but if I press on the heart necklace, it actually has like little like shirkin' blades to come out of it, but I wasn't gonna do that to this poor lady yet. - I just wanna run conscious, so it's more of a-- - There's no-- - So you slap her with your necklace? - Yeah. - What? - Get it. - She doesn't like that. - Yeah, and you can't say it like that. I'll slap her with my necklace. - He's bludgeoning her. - There's the power of love to deal with it. - So, plus four and her athletics are two. She rolled a one. - That's three. - That's three. You hit with four, her defense was a three, so-- - That takes up her last one box. - She is still walking, though. - Sure, she hasn't really taken any damage. She's taking stress. - Come on, Martin. - Sure is a good one. - I'm surprisingly athletic for Nemo. - Athletic. - Athletic. - So you're adding two additional. - Yeah. - Which then pushes it up to three, which is already marked off, and she does not have it for physical. - Yay. - So, she takes a consequence. - Can she do that? - She doesn't have to take her for one. - She's a face. She's the face of this part. - That means she's important, at least. - We are punching her face. (laughing) I'm a part. - Into pulp. - Yeah. - Sorry. - That means, since it's four damage, you would take a moderate consequence. - Like, be ready to catch us? - No. - No, that was sort of like consequences. - What if I hit her more, I mean, days to miles? - Let's go down, please. - The low of the pain, embrace it. Darkness, the darkness is coming. Darkness always threatens. Darkness is threatening our friend, Diane, and I am not gonna let this glorify wanna be caught, park ranger, get in the way of saving her again. Save her once, I'm gonna save her again. - To spend another point, you would take it to severe consequence, which I would say unconscious and can't fight for that. - No, that's not consequence. - Well, what are you saying? You have to fill up all of her consequences, thank you. - No, she has to decide whether or not to take a consequence, and a consequence leaves you working. You can't take unconscious consequence, because it's a real current thing. A severe consequence lasts for months. You can't be unconscious for months. - Oh no, you're gonna be a coma for months. - The consequences you give people are like aspects that you can then tag, because you made them yourself like a maneuver. - Well, I'm not gonna give her another one. I mean, that's a waste of fate in the room. - Well, to take her out, you're gonna have to fill up all of her consequences, as well as all of her stress. - That's too extreme. - It depends on what level of NPC she is. - If she's taking a severe, she could also just take a moderate end mile, which is the same value. - Right. - Fill up more slots. - Okay, seriously, how do you kill someone? - It's tough. - Do they not? I mean, okay, how do you knock someone unconscious? - That's easy, they have to decide they're done with combat because they're going to kick their ass. It's just gonna take time. - But what does this happen if we do, and they don't, they need us to take some consequences. - They run out of consequences, that's four. - After four? - After a mild, which is minus two, moderate, minus four, severe, minus six, and they're in a stream. - No, no, I have to take those again this year. That's like you laugh off their arm. Nobody's gonna take that as an NPC. They're gonna be on the ground, which is important. - Yeah. - Do I get to know if she's gonna go unconscious? - I don't know. - Just doesn't know when to quit, and you crack her head, and she slams into the front of the car, and lands on the ground on the ground, puddling in her blood, and she gets back off, and she's like, "You don't sound like it." - Right. - She just got to put her down. They don't want to put her down. - That was extremely... - Disturbing. - I doubt it. - You know what this'll be. - An ambulance on NPC is basically anybody who takes one consequence of any type, they're done. - Correct. - Like that thug? - But she's not a male child. - Right. - That's like boarding NPC. - My professional names and details about them, but they play a minor in a significant role, which is what I think she is. She has a name, she's a face, but she's not a major NPC, where it's basically a player character. She's not that. - Right. - She's a supporting character in this drama. - All right, supporting NPC should not fight to the bitter end, the most determined of them should fight to a moderate consequence at most before they can see. - So first hit, you guys were a moderate? - First. - No. - No, the first was that moderate. - First hit was the first hit. - No, my first hit. - My first hit. - The first big point you spent made a moderate. - Oh, yes. - That's what I'm saying. - So we could say with that hit of a moderate and the type of NPC that she is, we're gonna say she sometimes. - Okay. - Okay. - I'm disgusted by a one. - It's off. - A part granger. - Everyone lined up. - What? - I said, what, yeah. - It was Martin's calmly walking down the path 'cause we were supposed to be following 'cause he was done with just the moment he failed to stop.
