Task Force S.I.R.E.N. executes the raid on Benjamin's home in search of the ritual components they need to confront an even greater enemy. The Task Force must deal with magic, swarms of bees, gunplay, car chases, an accounting of their own morality, and a long night of surveillance..

[Music] Hello and welcome to Nights of the Night Actual Play Podcast. This World of Darkness storyline, "Shit Luck" was written and run by our storyteller, Scott. And now, please enjoy Chapter 15, scene 2, titled Grand Theft B. [Music] Alright, we're here tonight for Chapter 15 of the World of Darkness story, "Shit Luck". The storyteller, Scott, and we can be here tonight from right to left is Tom playing Jonathan, also known as Jay Alton. Jim playing Sister Katie O'Connor. Bob playing Special Agent Chew Park. Mike playing Michael Clay. So that's a total of two successes. Alright, you strike the box solidly. It doesn't have much durability or the casing and it was just hardened plastic. And you hear, in silence. If I still have a moment left, I flip up with my latch with my clogged hand. I love the hand. I'm praying to God that it works because faith is one of my virtues. It works. The door opens. And then I move because I haven't yet. Yes. You work through. I step through, though, and move to the side because I'm still holding it open and yelling for everyone else to move through and I know Chew's on the ground. Right. No, Chew flies through and then the bees descend, again. And the bees descend on Sister Kate and the chosen one. So this turn, Kate, is three bashing damage, which is one more than your suit can allow protection forces. The bees got through and they sting you for one bit. Did they get it over again? Unfortunately not. They're concentrated in, you know, it's not like you run away. They're following you to the extent. But they did not leave the gated area of the backyard. So for what a reason, they didn't fall. Exactly. It didn't follow you. And so now the other ones will start, if you will remain there, would, of course, start conducting damage as well. That's right, bitches. I'm out here. I didn't want to come out here. So I took a bashing, just a bashing. And then I shut her. The bees. Michael, you had two swarms on you, so you take two bashing his turn as bees get through your defenses into your actual exposed flesh underneath the suit. So you take two bashing damage and then you go ahead and make a perception check. Same with you, Kate. Let me know when you have your dice pull. My dice pull. Because of the bees in the background, you get, I'm going to say minus two to your die pull for perception, because they're very noisy and they're all about. One success. Okay. Michael does not hear it, but you hear footsteps coming down the path. Make your feet slapping on the rock? Yeah. It'll be like that. Now, it is your turn. To the car. Go. I'm going to shoot the run. I can. You're at the end of the maze, and the footfalls you've heard, in my apologies for being clear, were along the path leading up to the entrance to the maze. Okay, well, rather than doing that, since I probably have an idea where he is, kind of, in how rare. I'm spraying him with fourth, though, and then I'll head you for the car. Alright. Shh. More on him. Same attack role as before, Jim. Same die pull, minus one. Actually, I'm going to give you minus two of this term. If you took one damage from the bees, it's very disconcerting to have them crawling on your skin. Six, minus two is four. Got one. Okay. I'm going to spray you, dissipate to swarm some. So if you were to remain behind, swarm would not be quite as effective against you next turn as it would be, and it's your turn now. And then you flee, right? Yeah. You flee through the gate. You keep going out towards the street ripping off things. I mean, it's your car. So you have keys. I'm going to the car. We didn't. I thought we'd left Lucius in it, or something, or somebody in it. Yeah, he might have said we lost him in the car, right? Yeah. I remember he was very badly. I was probably going to run down along the side of the house. And I'm gesturing him to get into passenger side as I slide over the house. Well, you're not there yet, though. You can do it in your face. You can have your move next turn. You're running down the side of the house and into the front door. I'm talking into the walkie-talkie now that I'm out of the backyard saying shit. It's going down. We had to go out of here. All right. Go ahead and make another perception check if you would, please. Minus one die for the bee distraction. Three successes. You noticed that across the street, lights are on where they weren't on. When you first pulled up next door, the house you actually went to. I think it was-- For the blood pressure test? Yeah. For the blood, that light's gone on. You see somebody looking for the curtains. Something is-- I've learned by the way, but they're not. Probably a Glock big shot. Oh, he dropped it. Yeah. You did drop it. Oh, I did. Remember when your hand got needle? Yep. It drove. I'm not going to talk about that. Okay. Michael? I'm running. All right. So you're going to take an action. You just double run. If I can just drive, drop, roll, and get up and running. I'll try to help disperse the swarm. Well, as soon as you crest the gate-- You've noticed people run to the gate. Stay behind. Oh, okay, okay. So you've noticed that. So it's really a thick concentration. You have to move through this last bit, but as soon as you cross the threshold which you're right up against. So you cross that. The bees, unless they're on your body in your suit, they don't follow through it. Okay, then I just run for the car. Okay. So running is a full action which moves you double your normal movement, which you blow past the good sister. I'm flater foot. Yes. And you-- I'm good at running. You arrive at the car door and open it up. You still have-- you still have your uniform on? Are you trying to maybe-- Can you lose any of it? Are you keeping the uniform on? I'm still there. Oh, the bees are still inside. I don't rip off my-- I don't take off my suit yet. Okay. So you dive through the back seat with the bee suit on. Good enough. Back to you. And I'll be doing-- right, trying to crush them against you. Yeah. You did not take any damage this turn. You noticed-- I mean, you took it on the bees turn, but so far-- well, I guess you'll have to wait until the bees turn again to see what happens. Yes, you're crushing them as you run. But don't be-- She's dying when they sting you most of the time. Most of the time. Yeah. Depends on them. Not always. Depends on the bee. I thought all bees. Some don't lose their stinger when they-- Is the Africa ice bees? No, it's a wasp. Wasp don't. Wasp don't. Hornet's don't. Right, there's a bunch of bees. I thought all bees. Yeah, these are honey bees. And for the long and short of it, they lose their stinger. Right. But some bee ties do not lose their stinger when they-- You should have put a whole bunch of spiders in here or something. Right. Some of that eats bees, wasps, or something. Chew you up. I get in the car and close the door. Chew runs to the car, closes the door. Do you still have your suit fully on? Yeah, there's still bees on. The ones that were on you had started flying back towards back yard. The ones that were inside your suit, on the other hand, are completely different. All right. Well, I won't get in the car if there's still bees on my suit. Not on your suit. Inside your suit. Okay, gotcha. Then I'll get in the car. Okay. And you're still wearing your suit. Okay. Yes. I'm right behind them. In the car, it's now the bee's turn. And what you all notice is that this far removed from the backyard seemingly. Everyone except for Katie because she's still, she's only halfway through the car. You feel the bees crawling on you, but you don't feel them staining you anymore. And it's a lesser aggressiveness. You see Benjamin at the gate looking out at, you know, who you are and where you're at. But he's not crossing the threshold. And he just seems to be seething. Michael K gets balls and flips him the finger from the car. That's for you and the horse you're ordered. And I'm in the car panically removing the sling to get the hell out of a bee infested tube. Right. You run in that direction. What is your resolve, Katie? I got a wonderful resolve of four. That's pretty wonderful. I mean, that's really good. He's at the gate and he's looking at you. He's not holding me on the gate, but you see him mutter and you see him, you know, move his hands about in some strange, you know, drawing sigils in the air. And he's got his bees all swarming around him angrily. And you start to feel in your throat, these needles being stuck into your throat, like just the beginning of it, just a hint, like the pressure. But I'm actually going all the way in. And then it fades. And you think the dear Lord. And it is Michael's turn. Actually you were in the car because you doubled, moved, last turn. So you were doing what? Well, there's really nothing I can do because I'm not the one in the driver's seat, so I'll start unzipping towards her. The bees that are still loose to make sure we have enough. Yeah, that's a good idea. I'll start a second off the bees. I mean, if the scene is over. No, we're not over here. Okay. Drive, Katie, John. Katie's turn. Katie runs. If I have to make a whole of your cars parked. The driver's side is, you're parked on the outside of the street, so you're running right to the door. You don't get to do the cool slide across, but you make it there, that's your move action, and your action is to drive the car. Oh, yeah. All right. And it's a dead end. As soon as I get there, you have to kind of do a yumi, go back down the street. I was waiting to get into the car before I took out the hood. I don't want anybody to see who I was. New neighbors. Good luck. Right. I think everybody waited before they got in the car before they started taking their suits off. Which I guess I did, but I'm taking the whole suit off. I don't like the selling time. You start heading back to where? Good question. Church. Yeah. I don't know the power of these bees. They stung me. No, I'm just saying. Maybe Benjamin can trace them. Let's take the wings and get a lot of them. I was hoping. We should take these bees somewhere else to take the wings off before we go back to the safe house. Yeah, I want to... Case Benjamin can trace them. We don't want to lead them right back to where we're hiding. This is almost over. Let's not make one more mistake. That's a good idea. Why? Why not now? We can't waste them now. Katie, I'd like you to make a width plus composure roll, please. Just come in when you're eligible. Width plus composure. Exposure is another... Six. Okay, six full. Any suggestions on where we should go to e-wing these bees? Motel? I was thinking safe house too. But a motel works too. Okay, make your roll. I did appreciate the image of you running in your habit while throwing the shots as you're running. I can do it if it makes you guys happy. I got three successes. Okay, Katie, you pull out onto... You're on Oracle Court, which is here. So you pull back around to 28th Street. And you head down 28th Street, heading back towards St. Patrick's. We're talking about stopping somewhere first, right? Like the B.B. I'm trying to remember the area, but if there was like a pulling car wash or something like that, that could be useful. One, that they're typically empty this time of night. Two, so we'll be able to kind of do our thing without necessarily being interrupted. Three, you have high-powered washing systems and wands there that if there's still swarm issues that we have to deal with, those might be a good weapon or at least a defense against them. So you start making your way up like... Well, I mean, we have to get the bees out from the vacuum bag or whatever. And we have to prevent them from flying around. And if they get out, we should probably be in closed space, so we can usually capture them. Because I understand it, all those other bees, we get their wings, that's fine. The only one that really requires some precision is the queen that we have to extract. Right. The blood. But you still have to hand the wings off without handling a bee. Shoot 'em off. Fly paper. You bring follow. We got company. They're behind us? They're behind us. Oh, no. You ruined the musical crescendo right there with a bad pun. Yeah, losing. No problem. That's what you do, right? That's why. It's supposed to be. Be careful. Can you take damage from these? Because I am. From what? Puns. Bad puns. Yes. Absolutely bad. All puns are bad by the fall. In chapter 15, any bee puns are definitely bad. You ever mentioned that bee floor? You're giving me hives. Oh, honey. That one's stronger. Benjamin didn't have a car. Let's go with the dexterity plus drive plus your vehicle handling. In vehicle control and vehicle ramming and vehicle pace. This also might be an opportunity to... Let's say pursuit call Winston and call in some of the local boys to shake the tail off. Dexterity plus drive plus handling. I hate to run into daddy every time we have a problem. But that's just my issue. Ah, maybe you can shut up the tires. You're not driving, right? No, I'm not going to have an open gun fire on the city streets. Well, we were just in a residential neighborhood, so what's the difference? It could be one of the neighbors who's following us. Well, then we'll just back off. One, two, three, four, five successes. Really possible success. Really possible success. Yeah, exceptional. Okay, so you've done it, Katie, and you run a white weed between some traffic. You wait for the last possible minute to turn, and you get six successes. You're trying to lose a mid-sized sedan. That's what's trailing you, which has an acceleration of 14. So you need 14 successes before... Does it criticals count as... I mean, an exceptional count as anything. It might be one and done depending on what the pursuer is as well. Because the pursuer makes rules, and what they're trying to do is... I thought you said six. He's trying to catch the number of successes that Jim gets in one. Like, he's trying to catch up to his successes before he gets to the acceleration. So they have two different things they're trying to do. Jim's trying to beat the acceleration of the chasing tire. The chasing tire is only trying to get as many successes as Jim has to catch him. Or Katie in the particular instance. All they have to do is match her successes to get there. But each turn becomes more difficult as Katie accumulates more successes. What do I have to lose? I don't want to steal Katie's thunder. Wow, she does. You lost her, Katie. They had zero successes on seven dice to try to match your six successes. And if you get to 14 before they match your number of successes, you would have escaped. So let's say you got three the first time and they got two. Their two doesn't match your three. But you're a long way from lose now. Then you get five successes. So you go from three to eight. They have two. They need to get six successes to catch you. They have to catch you at any point during the chase. They catch you. They catch you. And can ram you or do whatever they want to do, but you're not losing them. If you get to the acceleration total of the chasing car, if you get so many successes that you get past their acceleration total, you have lost them. But you rolled an exceptional success. And they rolled zero successes. So I'm going to say within the first 10 or 15 seconds, you're ballsy maneuvering with the vehicle completely flattened their pursuit and lost them in the wind. And they can no longer find you at this point. It's almost like the blues brothers. You're on a mission from God. I think we're going to -- How about that, Lucius? The car washed it. Okay, you're already car washed. She's like, "Wait, we're getting followed." Okay, we're sorry. What the -- Oh crap. We had company. We're fine now. So you are the car washed. The bees that are on you as much as that unnerves you, Jay, specifically in your suit. If you're trying to take that suit off as quick as possible, they are much -- Subdue. Subdue is a good -- It's also colder. You're right. As we're disroving it. We suck those off. Yeah. I have them. Right. I have one too. Okay. So for storytelling purposes, all the bees have been killed in the vehicle or sucked into one of the bubble mats. All right. All of us had Leathermans, right? Leatherman tools. Yes. The bed has among them fine control pliers or small tweezers that you can use. We're not going to help with this. Right? I will, but you need to get a syringe right now. What about the doctor? He's -- We cannot use them all night. He couldn't do a syringe thing, right? It would be so much more fun for Jay to have to do it. But yes, you did say Lucius was in the car, so Lucius can do it if you -- He should do the whole thing. He wasn't here for this. He's the doctor. It's simple surgery. But -- Well, he was pretty not here. He's still fertilizing, so -- No. Well, he just lost his job. He's nice. I'll do what I can. We'll take a few tissues that can hold the bee down and then pull the wings. And we'll have a little beaker or envelope or even a pocket. Okay. So my hand is still functioning. I mean, it still probably hurts, but -- Yes. It hurts? I mean, like, all bashing dead. It's moving with a hand. Right. But I do have a concern. I don't know if it matters. Maybe I should even bring it up. But I'm not sure if all of this had to happen within the confines of -- Yeah, but it was my call. There's no choice. I mean -- I'm just putting it out there. Right. I'll take the plane from this one, but we had no choice. Right. You want to go back. Yeah. That's not going to happen. Right. According to the documentation you dug up, it sounded like it had to be done at -- No, no. That's what I disagree with. I disagree. I disagree. It's just not -- There's no point in arguing. It's either going to work or it's not. And so we're not going back. I'm simply putting it out there that that's -- I'm putting it out there that the bees had to be -- the bees, the blood and the queen blood and the wings had to come from a Carlisle hive. They have -- Say anything about us having to be there when they come off. We got bees from the hive. There will be one good to go. I'm going to go. Easy way to determine if that's true or not. My plan? This is a moot argument. Okay. I mean, we can't -- we're not going to convince the world that we were right. Well, I bet -- We either are or not and we're moving on from here. I'm simply trying to manage expectations. So we're going to go with it was a success. We're smiling. Okay. Any lady you can walk away from. My point is that once we pull off the wings of the bees and take the blood of the queen, if they aren't perfectly fine and flying home back to Sinclair, then -- I'm just saying -- I don't know. I'm just putting it out there. I'm trying to be academically honest. No bees. We'll be harmed. We got the blood pinning, guys. What are we doing now? And that's true. You -- who's ripping off the wings? I'm doing the blood. Okay. You do the blood. You do the wings. So Michael rips off the wings, which is a relatively disconcerting thing to do. Ripping off the wings of the bees. I mean, the bees flop around afterwards. I dig up mummies. Why would this -- Right. Well, because nummies are dead and bees are still living at this point. Just thought that you mean you're ripping off the wings of a bee. Okay, with it, that's okay. There's no rolls here that you have to make. I've killed enough flies and bees. When you were a kid, did you have magnifying glass and anhales and yeast anhales? Maybe. What are we doing with the D-wing bees in the queen once we're done? We could mail them back to Benjamin. That would both maybe be cruel and -- Just don't put a return address. Yeah, really. 72 to a carrier. What do I -- We worked on the heart of the bee. Poor carrier. It will be less like we don't want to kill us if we give him his bees back alive. What do I need to do? Well, we've already orthoed and killed a number of them. I don't think it matters. All he's worried about is the queen. He don't care about the pretty much. I put a shot through his hand and I don't know where else, but I think we pissed him off. I just hope we're done with Benjamin. Yeah. No. I don't think Benjamin's done with us. We're done with him, sure. I need to roll to get over the fact that I'm taking this bee, but is there any control situation? You can probably just stab it. I'm sure there's lots of smoke, you know, docile, docile bees. If you wanted to roll or the finesse required to perform the activity, I have no problem rolling. I'm just saying that philosophically, I don't -- Right. And that's not a problem. So the 22 pinions are off of 11 bees. You need to make just a standard roll because it's a controlled circumstance. It's dead. Holy crap. Couldn't quick bring up the -- oh, good. Four successes out of five with one of them are all again. It's a good night for nice one for his. Five successes out of with a roll again. Success. So a total of five. The queen bee, thank you. I am very gentle. Right. You are very gentle. The queen bee lives through the operation, but for that success, I think dictates overcoming, spending the experience to overcome this. Right. And getting the future. I'm like spending experience to no longer be frightened of bees. Yeah. Yeah. That's a bad. They're just little creatures. I can -- Well, it takes five guys holding that one queen bee while we take a little drop of blood from it. Yeah, I can. I got this. I got this. What do you do with the bees whose pinions you did not rip off and the queen bee who seems to have survived the -- Do we keep the queen bee as hostage? And if we do so, do we cause him a beacon for him to be able to find us? I think we drive by and let them free of his house. No. Just let him go. I'm not driving by that area any time soon. I think -- Well, the queen can flock. I mean, at the mention, we just -- you just fired your weapon off in that area. Well, there is that. I'm not ordering it, but in my opinion, we should, like, get a block or two away and early some sort of -- they have a chance of getting back to bed. You know what, though? It's going to make Benjamin happier than us. Katie may have a point. Keeping the queen bee for insurance. It feels silly, like, I'm trying to talk about, like, it's a hostage. It's a person that you're holding as a hostage. But -- On the other hand, if it flies back to Benjamin, then maybe -- It is one of God's creatures that should be set free. Benjamin controls magic through bees. Do we really want to keep one of his bees here? No, I think we got what we needed. You might be able to trace this with the bloody bees. Well, that's true. What do you say like that? Those are necessary eagles. All right. Pretty similar, Chase says. All right. We released the bee. We released the bee. We got a D-wing bees out of the grotto. No, back home. They're like, "Yeah, it was a long walk home." The D-wing bees died quickly after you D-winged them. The other bees escaped through the year. Oh, the other bees are probably -- Everyone needs to make a morality check. Not for the bee wings. Plus, because you're all morality seven. And a sin against morality seven is petty theft. And no matter how you want to slice or dice it, going into the back of Benjamin's yard, no matter what the circumstances, and stealing something from him, is petty theft. You can't own them. Right. We could drop your morality down to six. So, everyone needs to roll four dice. Your crime was a four dice crime. And if you're morality six, then you're morality six, because you're comfortable feeling like that. How do you not go up, or how do you go down, or what? What do you -- where do my roansmen do? You're rolling not to drop from seven to six. Your morality. How many take you so far? You need just one success to get through it. I morally exploited off to myself. Hey, how do you seal it? The greater good. Three successes. I got two successes. All right. Everyone's okay with it. Everyone's fine with the tidy theft. Again, not meaning to punish myself, but I also shot a human at least twice. He's not human. Right. That doesn't really matter. No, because he might be a mage, but he's still human. I mean, he still is a person. In my defense, I, A, shot for his hand to distract him. And that was killing him the first time. Well, after I saw it deflected by magic, the second time I had no problem. Right. In passion, crime, manslaughter is not what this is. Thank you. Intentional mass property damage like arson. Or grand theft like burglary. Grand theft? That's four, five, and six. I'm trying to find a parallel for what you did. Grand theft B. So this isn't a plot. I'm sorry. I'm just trying to understand. So fighting the B zombies before-- Yeah, he said earlier, and I don't think we-- Yeah, I don't think we agreed that there should have been a role for that. Oh, yeah. In theality, when John Beamer eviscerated that security guard-- Right. That was a human being. And I know he was under B control. Oh, yeah. But the idea of this game, you know, called it through who has insanity. Right. You know, you slip down the scale. It's the same thing. I mean, you're killing people because they were, you know, possessed. And they were trying to hurt you. Right. And you can justify that, but that doesn't mean your morality is going to stay at seven. It means your morality might slide down that scale to justify these things to yourselves. Scott, is there a self-defense morality check? It's not. It's not. It wasn't really self-defense, but it's the equivalent of it. Right. I mean, I would go more than it's maybe along the lines of grand theft. Because you really tried to only hit a part of him. It wasn't man's water. That's the name of the episode, Grand Theft B. Yes. And it wasn't... [laughter] I mean, it was... The hard time in prison explaining that word. Yeah. What'd you do? You're still a B. Morality Five is intentional mass property damage. You didn't try to burn down his house in, you know, I mean... No, I'd probably try to do a little more than that. I mean, I tried to hurt him. Intention. Yeah. So let's say five. That gives you three dice for this morality check. One success. That's all you need. So you were able to rationalize it yourself both times. I did. Or I even did it. Yes. You don't go down. And this is... Okay, again, go ahead and mic with any questions you might have. But this is their idea of saying, as you live on the fringes of society... Because obviously you can't be normal while you're hunting monsters. As you live on the fringes of society and you do things to save the greater good. You know, save the people from the horrors that are haunting them and feeding off of them. You slip down that scale. You start accepting more and more things. It's okay to do this because he's not really a human. He's a mage. And it's okay to do this. And so if you were to kill the werewolf and you'd turn into a wolf, you would have had to make a role for that. Now, to be fair, I have the ability to give plus or minuses to your role. And you, who is a member of the Aegis Cidoru, who has spent their entire lives hunting werewolves and hating them, you would have got bonus dice to your role. Now, he still might have been affected when you saw his body become somebody. You know, personally, you haven't decided whether or not you think lycanthropy is genetic. Is it something they choose? Or has this been forced upon them? And if you killed somebody that's something forced upon them, you might regret it a little bit. Nalt means as your morality goes down and you can buy that back with experience in role-playing. You can buy that morality back as you slide down the scale. But you have to role-play it. And you pick up derangements. Because if you kill somebody, you might be depressed for a couple of weeks. Even though he was a werewolf. So, it's their way to gently without beating you with a stick. Because it's not like horrible disadvantages. But I think it really was cool with the depression that he felt after... Not depression, excuse me. Harry, no way in phobia that he had of bees. It really led itself to some really cool role-playing as well. So, that's the general idea of it. Let's see, you're back at the church at this point. Is that what you're going afterwards? After the car wash, you go back to the church. Now, as we recall, you were stealing those or requisitioning those. Those wings and the Queen V blood at Vespers, which was at dusk. Right. 6 p.m. So, evidence occurred since then. The actual stealing of the bees. The escape from Benjamin losing the tail. The going to the car wash taking up. It is now 7 p.m. It's been one hour. And you're back at the hotel. It hasn't been that long at a time. Actually, you'll say it's an hour and a half. So, let's say it's 7.30. Go ahead. K.D., you get one willpower back from losing the tail with one role. You accept some success. Shoe, you get one willpower back due to your spotting of the electrical outlet box to disable the gate. If you weren't able to get through that gate, it would have caused much difficulty for that scene. Much more difficulty than... Well, let's put this away. I was expecting a little bit more blood check in that scene. I'm very glad that she was able to puzzle out a way to get your guys safely through that without taking a lot more damage that you would have taken. And everyone else, I think, just maintains their current bison bird shoot. I've had an exceptional shot. True. You had an exceptional success against the mage. It was casting against you. So, I think one bad for that. One willpower back. Your second shot was only 3. Wasn't 5 damage. It was 3. Outran everyone to the car. You did indeed. That's very prudent of you. Did you fulfill our vice or virtue by running up in front of the mage who's about to kill you and say, "You want me to do this?" I was trying to stop him from casting a spell, but once I got up close and I realized I couldn't do anything. And you guys did that with me. What time does the ritual have to be? You're the ritual guy. You tell us. I'm really asking you to remind me. Well, so I know you've got bee stings all over you, but don't get picture with me. Do we at the end of the scene get a bashing damage back? No. Every 15 minutes you get a bashing damage back. Well, a few of those had to pass on the drive. I mean, it didn't happen at the end of the scene. I guess my point is that we have to wait for a secure time frame. Up to six bashing could be healed in the time that you spent since you ran away from back to back. Okay, well. Time to get back to your rooms at the... So nobody got wounded, right? St. Patrick's. Not lighter. Other than bashing, no. You got one minor wound? I had two bashing, but those are healed. If I understood what you just said. We need to plan on infiltrating the compound and how we're done. Yeah, which is why I'm saying we need the stakeout information before we do the plan. So that's going to give us information. Right. Well, I don't know if the stakeout is going to do that for us, so. If it gives more information than we want, it's going to give us more information than we have now. No matter which we want to ask our doggy buddy, we had him all tied up. Yeah, Billy, I wish you would have asked him some questions about the stone and where it is. Exactly. You know what? Let's do that. Do you have his number? I have his coin. You're going to talk to the coin? Okay. You've got your whole guy. How do I use this coin to summon the pillage? You either take a trap out of your blood and put it on the coin or... I'm all about sticking together with myself. I do that. All right. You're going to get a drum. The stakeout continues. So you'll get the video and the stakeout. Let me know. I don't think we're going to sneak or talk our way past anyone getting into this building. Is there any possibility that... Oh, wait. Oh, yes, there is. Do we still need your coin? You might need to get into building. Yeah. I thought the coin was just to get into Benjamin's place. They might have some kind of magical protections at this place as well. I mean, they have computer security. They have physical security. Well, it's Billy if he gets here. Otherwise, he was... Yeah, the computer security I wasn't able to do anything with. Did they have tough details? Or did you just suck? I was trying to give you an easy out, okay? You say yes. I think what it was was that they had an active system admin that was already demanding the things and keeping going. The level of defense was military grade, which is now arguing against what my original thought was, which was we just stormed the building. So, the only thing I could think of as beginning in wise trying is disguising ourselves as workers for their construction site. And one way we could do it, and it's something I don't like doing, would be hijacking a truck. You pour us in the driver, take us in there. I wouldn't say we drive the truck in there, but none of us had the fast talk. Or have been seeing one another before they can have an anxious foot pull it off, besides someone who's been there before. That kind of goes against my fate of taking a person hostage. This is a construction company, right? I mean, they're doing, I mean, a construction thing going on there. So, they're bringing in building materials and stuff, cement trucks, well, cement. Again, a lot of this might be answered by, just take out. What do we got? It's going to take you and you and anyone else pour them over some video. Like I said, this is like, if you ever watched, this is a montage. It goes time, everybody's sitting there going over the videotapes and the audio tapes for an hour. Yeah, definitely montage. Some kind of background music. I also feel like clock ticking right now. Not the least of which that we have to time it, so we have the original at the right time, but now we've got an angry Benjamin here. It's a shelf-life opinion. Oh, this should be fine for, you've done it, by the way. And what's plus investigation is what you and you need to roll. You're just making the shit up on you. Call me out of it. Well, I know. It's what you do, so I'll get it to you. We go in there, we find the rock. We join arms, sing kumbaya, and summon in their horrid spell of the spirit. If I understand everything. I thought we need the queen, which is merit. Right. Part of getting that narrative to us is the flicking of the arms. Just kind of walk in and say hi, guys. No. We didn't work one up. Probably didn't. Probably didn't. Oh, but I must be thinking of the exact opposite. Probably not a summoning man. Nope. It's not a fan of summoning. Then I guess we do need to get a hold of her. You think it's a fan too? It is just because it's last week, and this is a reminder. You guys thought that's a fan. You thought that it was a fan of... Keeping her from escaping was what it was. It was a, I can't go anywhere. I can't disperse. She can't disperse properly into the shadow realm and go to rebuild herself. So, what it, what it basically, what the... And I don't know if you want to do this. This is like taking merit and sticking a pin in her to the ground and saying you can't go nowhere. Now we're going to have to kick a butt. Nah, three of you, you're chatting, Katie's keeping you well caffeinated. Could you suck at it? Pimpy. If you can't. That's up. When you're plus investigation, you're researching the surveillance dump. Uh, I got three. I got one. One. Seriously guys? You're supposed to be better at this. Okay, you have all the video tape information you need now to make some estimates. Somebody needs to make the primary role. Which plus intelligence? I think that's true, right? It's not me. I've only got four. Mike is pretty smart. What's intelligence? Yeah, but you've been rolling a lot. I only got four. Who do you have? What's an intelligence? I have five. No, I didn't give you an assist. I think I choose... Why are we all assistants? I have six. I have six. Huh? Alright, why don't we assist you? Yeah. Alright. Roll away. Everybody can roll away, right? We're going to assist two with their opinion. Oh my goodness. I have nothing I can help you with. I got two. I got one. Do we extradite you? I'm really important. The idol will confuse the being spirit into making them think I'm one of them. Yes. So maybe that's our end. But I walk in with you guys in tow or perhaps we all do the Trojan horse thing. Where we've caught you meddlers and bring you in that we present to the queen. I want someone to tell me what the end game is. What are we trying to do? Well, I thought we were trying to put down Sharfa. We'll just kill somebody? Which is... We're not going to kill her, but we're going to prevent her from dispersing. We're going to unpass her. We're going to kill her. We're going to unpass her. Unpass her. That's fine. I'm just not off the killing. Yes, no, no, no. That's a better way to say it. We're going to free her. The young woman. From being possessed by a bee spirit. How do we get... The spirits of possess are bad. If you keep the bees from dispersing from her, how are you going to get the bees out of her? The spirit of Cleveland. Oh, there you go. Well, first we have to put a hole in her. Something that we can come up with. So... This is like a werewolf thing, right? No, I don't have a problem with her. I am not going to be part of any... True, you can make a final roll. Final roll. First takeout. Alright, I'm rolling a total of nine dots. I call Winston. A total of six. That's an exceptional success. Pitching any money. I had help. Okay. So... The sell gains of bonus to initiative scores equal to the primary actor's successes gained. So... The sell gains plus two to any stealth or larceny rolls made regarding the location. The sell gains plus one to any roll meant to detect surprise while within the location. And you can ask me up to six questions about the daily operation of this area. And I will answer them. It's six. Alright, so what's this? Many success that you have. The first one was six plus six to our initiative rolls while we're there. Then plus two versus stealth and plus one versus being surprised. Plus two to stealth and larceny. It's about one o'clock in the morning after the viewing of the rest of the tapes and information you have. I will say two o'clock in the morning and then piecing it all together. So it's now May six, two a.m. And ask away if you want to know any questions about anything. Now, none of you got close to the building. You just did video surveillance. So there will be some restrictions to type of information if you can gather up. Thanks for listening to Nights of the Night at Actual Play Podcast.
