Task Force S.I.R.E.N wraps up the interview or interrogation of their unexpected house guest. They begin to piece together the mystery and gather the weapons (er, tools) they'll need to strike back at their enemies. Now, if they could only find a safe souse that is safe enough to allow them to catch their breath

[Music] Hello, and welcome to Knights of the Night Actual Play Podcast. This world of darkness storyline, shit luck, was written in run by our storyteller Scott. And now, please enjoy Chapter 11, Scene 3, titled "A Drop of Blood." All right, we're together tonight for Chapter 11, and the world of darkness story, shit luck, with us tonight from right to left, are, I'm playing a character, Jay. I am Jim, I'm playing Sister Katie O'Connor, about playing Chupark, and I'm playing Michael Clay. I received in this house that is the person that broke the safety of his belly. As I understand it, the boundary is not broken, and the secrecy of our spot is not compromised. It's messed up, and we don't have one hell of a cleaning bill, but the coin didn't break the protection, it just allowed whoever to get past it, but did I be secure with that? Now, if he doesn't have the coin, how come he's not being expelled, he's close enough, he's still still protecting him, I don't know. At this moment, he's not asked up to anybody in the house. The guy in his belly would probably argue that. Well, maybe the coin has to be, have an affinity for, and really, right now, the coin still considers his belly its true possessor, so maybe that's why he hasn't been ejected forcefully yet. After we take care of the B problem, what happens in the locus, I mean some other forces just going to move in, right? The focus will be reclaimed, if not the sharp out, the mage, if not the mage, some other dark spirits, if not the dark spirits, the ensega, or the pure, as they're known, wolves like me that don't venerate Mother Luna, you can't destroy the focus, you can just keep people away from it. You can try to change the essence clone from it, you can try to change its resonance, locus has a resonance, and you can change the resonance of a locus, the feelings of people when they are nearing. Like now, the bees have infected it with energy and a workman life ethic, and everyone striving to achieve things and work overtime, and the whole area is starting to revitalize, which sounds good, except it's not, it'll keep going, and they'll work longer hours, and they'll work themselves to death, it gets worse and worse as time goes, but right now, the resonance is some type of fortitude, or some type of work ethic, but before we found it, before my path claimed it, murder, that was the resonance, murder, and we changed it ourselves. It's a long process to change the resonance of a locus, but it can be done. This is if you'd have to bob the land and build a church and conscript the ground, and be sort of through Ellie's sister, if you have the means, there would not be a way to do it. You used to have to worry about Benjamin though, I'm sure he wants a claim. And everybody else he mentioned, they're going to be wanting to move in, man. Oh, the worlds are gone. The last thing he mentioned was the pure. Yeah. He said, where will your sounds nice, unlike me, don't venerate mother Luna? So it seems to be someone he was maybe at odds with, or something that you don't know what the pure is, and you know they're where what's now, because he just told you, or the long shore it is, it sounds like there is at least some where what's he said, he mentioned dark spirits, which could be anything any of you, dark forces. He mentioned Benjamin as a force in himself, so it's a very powerful place, and someone's going to claim it, or you could try to claim it for yourself and fight off the others, but it's a locus. So why do we have to do this though? I mean, this is a fun, yeah, to the boss. Yeah, I think every time he is done. Fuck, yeah. I think we have enough information at least get him involved with what we're going to do in the future. Really, if we take your coin, it would take its possession so that we can use it for this plan, you're going to be expelled from this house. The ring, I'm going to be expelled from the house as soon as you undo the binds, or I freak out and turn into a werewolf and destroy the house, but what I was saying, Billy, is I was offering you our garage, if you're looking for a place to stay, keep an eye on our house to keep it safe, and you can sleep there when you watch roses. Also there's a rodent problem, so if you're hungry, I understand you have places to go and things to see. I'm just giving you the offer. Actually, I'm okay with that. He's been keeping an eye on us and keeping it safe a few times, so why not make it official? Whoever we're going to talk about. Yes. Exactly. Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer. John's about as close as he possibly can be. You don't have any further questions, and even if you do, I think I'm going to tide at this point because I'm answering the questions. I'm stopping over to start at Tynum, and I'm not looking very blind, because I'm sure he's the one objecting the most. Oh, I got a phone. I'll take it upstairs. Behind your closed door. I'm going to go to the shrine. If we're going to dive, that's what we have in the toilet. So I'm in time, really, with the end of the coin, with ours. We're releasing the ability with the understanding that the coin is ours for the use of this mission to get safe, and one more thing, I need a wrap up with one of the blood, and the reason for this, pie sounds pretty scary, you know, where a drop of your blood is, is how I tracked John, is how I tracked people, and if you're going to not return the coin and when all is said and done, it's much easier for me to find you with a drop of blood. You have my word, I won't use it for any other purposes, besides that. Dragal heroin, werewolf. What's not to try? What's not to try? I'm sure his word is as gold as the coin. Well, I've made all the deals so far, so I break my finger. He has a ruse-y looking vial along with his heroin, dashed, and he places your blood in there. It's my responsibility. He doesn't say goodbye, he shambles out of the house and into the rain. Fortunately I was going to go pick-snae on the og-blay, it just seems like a very high risk, but it seems like it's already been done, so okay. In this particular case. I understand the risk, but I have faith, and I have the pride that I can handle this, so don't worry about it. Well, I want you to be, you know, safe now because you're now going to be our bait to catch them later on. But the coin is ours to use to get past any barriers they have at the B Company, so not yours. Ours. To get it. I'm not saying it's mine, but you know, it doesn't need to be investigated and evaluated and appraised. Right. And the FBI laughs, right, too? She was deep in the dot. I said it's got to be appraising and analyzing the FBI. You haven't read that. Definitely. This is government property. We're in Pittsburgh, and we're like right here. And it's so much cooler than the little, the little jimmy-doll bees. All right. First of all, we know that what the coin does, it gets us past barriers, and it gets us where we want to be. What we got to know is we're pretty sure it's the idol, right? You got to know how to use a band. How do you go about the rich... The assumption is it's the idol, yes. I suspect it's the idol. I suspect that we could probably do research and figure out what rituals we were associated with. This is the work that you have fed up for you. The coin is no consequence to you. That just gets us where we need to go. You know, you are an idol, for. He's got the... He's got the blood. He wants the coin. He wants the coin. He wants the coin. But it's part of my advice. I'm just saying. But anyone can have the coin. It's a good role plan. You are... You are an artifact whore. Well, don't say it like that. I'm not selling my body, but it's part of that. I came for that coin with blood. Mine. That drop of blood. Let's see you pushing to the front of the line, my friend. Yeah, that's where my prudence comes, and I'm not going to give a word wolf my blood to track. You can spell my fear from miles away, so... You can track that. You can track that. Let me just go on record as I think that that is an incredibly dangerous risk. I can handle it. Don't worry. Mine was an expert at weapons and combat too. Yeah, he was injured. No. He got himself hurt. He's watching the big ones the world. And no one knows better than I. No, silver bullets, right? Especially one that's got power to use magic, which should be given up by your skirt, Sister Katie. What's that? That's... He's using magic too. That's another reason when we... He's trying to get people into the anti-wear wolf. I don't mind using him. I mean, I think it's an incredibly dangerous game that trying to use this world, but I'm just saying that we need to take part. We already used the wear wolf, and we got much more information than we've got in many a week prior. So what are you saying? The world's better information than I am, is that it? No. No, no. I wasn't suggesting that at all. I'm just saying that we used him. We got what we needed. He got what he needed. Yeah. You know what I'm saying, man? It was a pretty mutual... Yeah, I just... I remember John. He would have usually worked out well for everybody, but... But it doesn't have any parts that blunt any supernatural creatures. Yeah. Well, no. Yeah. Well, Tony in the hospital. Tony in the hospital. Tony in the hospital could easily hunt it down by this guy in Toronto. What about Dr. Lucius? He's got any... He hasn't responded. And he does. Yes. Yes. Tony's got a vampire's eye in a wear wolf's claws and fangs. And fangs? Yes. No. What? Tony has a good... I'm not. Tony went down like a... No, I mean, he blew up. Oh, that's right. Yeah, he blew up. That's right. He didn't show his fangs in the claw. But to tell you the truth, I'm not really sure. It's a wear wolf claw and fangs or something else. I kind of made it vague. So it could be something else. It could be from a different pack. So he doesn't give a crap. Okay. So I don't know. Because he got him in... He got him in the Afghanistan. You didn't... Well, I'm gonna... These are... These are abgane-wear-walls. It's a weird... It's a different pack. It's a different plant. I mean, they're different packs. They get along so well. I mean, they're not even like, you know... Oh, he may... It might be Chupacabra-fang. You never know. Well, hey, Chupacabra. All right. You've got that real wearable Chupacabra. That's like goat sucking... Anyways, we call the boss. Who's cleaning this mess up? Mother is that. Jay will be calling you in the special service that doesn't ask questions. There's actual service, including that does this kind of stuff, where they do... They do crime scenes... The fact that you know this scares me slightly. Splitters also services that don't ask questions. How do I get stuck? I'm brain detail. I'm just saying, I'm sure someone with our resources and Mr. Cake would be able to prepare... And we call Jay. If not Youngstown isn't that far away, I'm sure we have people in Youngstown. I can get my name. I hope we don't have any listeners and youngstown, like... Let's say... Well, I guess I am saying too. I don't talk about that. How can I help you? Jay didn't think we need to talk to the boss. We've had some break for Jay. Jay, is everything okay? No. No. We lost another one, Jan's dead. The phone goes quiet for... A good five seconds. And you said lost another one. You only lost one. I mean, Tony's that dead. Okay. Well, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Alright. Well, we'll submit you. Another casualty. We had A casualty. And her voice gets very serious. She says, "What happened?" The safe house was breached. I really need to talk to Tate. I'm sure he'll fill you in afterwards. I don't want to say this twice. One second. Okay. She put time to hold. And then... Let's listen in on the exciting. (humming) Your call is important to us. Please, I know. The team's siren appreciates your patients. Task force siren. Which does not really exist. So I didn't really say that. You're number one to us. This is Winston... Mr. Tate. Jay. Mr. Tate. Jay said you had some bad news. What happened? John has been killed. Jesus. What happened? The new safe house was breached. Are you in danger? Not currently. We don't believe so now. We're still in the safe house. You neutralize the threat? More or less. Okay. Do you have a idea? Yeah. Talk about even shit. Trouble. How did it happen? All right. Let's start at the beginning. He knows all about the vitamin B company. Oh yeah. He knows the story at the point. So we bring up the date with a chew and the doctor at the hospital in a tack on chew and how he was... Jesus, we told. I had Jay specifically tell Lucius not to go back to the hospital. Okay. Go ahead. Go ahead. Go a bit off on his own. Then he met us at the library where we were doing research on some aspect of the B's company and the rituals. We all, right? Yes. We all came... I think you knew about the guy. Okay. You're talking about the guy over here. I'm not sure we did. Okay. What's the student that he didn't say that? Well, it's assuming it's still a secret. It's a big reflection of when he was chewing you out. Yeah. He didn't mention it. You didn't tell me about me. After the poem was over, you said finding an idol or something like that. So I think he might not know you happen. Right. I don't think he does. But I informed him that we were at the library and we met up with chew. We went back. We got the doctor. And going back to the safe house, we found a vagrant, a bum that we've dealt with before, coming out of it covered in blood. Oh, is this the one from the first night that John was going to have glasses and things like that? Right. Well, apparently, we found out he has a feral nature and is, in fact, a werewolf. And he had broken into the safe house and killed John. We managed to capture him and interrogate him. Wait. Time for what? You captured a raging werewolf. No, he was not in the werewolf state. He was in his human drug-addled state of a bum. Just the doctor was able to put him under with medication. There's no documented proof in you guys and say that you only have my word to go off. At that point, we didn't know where John was. We had no body. We had a lot of blood. And we wanted to know what was going on to question him. Chew did as much forensic as he could and determined it was most likely John had died. And we used some of the powers of Michael to determine what actually happened and it wasn't packed the werewolf that did it. And it turns out he did it because of John's enhancements, his werewolf parts. Fucking Kyron corporation. Yeah. Son of a bitch. Billy, which is the vagrant, has been going up against the bee company all along and he thought we were the good guys and he was disappointed that. What do you mean he's been going up against the bee company all along? He was a drug-addled vagrant who basically remembered the paperwork that Jade sent us having to do with the motorcycle gang that owned it and the bee company took over this location. The motorcycle shop there, when the bee took over about three years ago or so. He was one of the owners of that shop and he and his other members that owned the shop we believe were all werewolves and they were all killed except for him. That's right. They were actually carbon monoxide poison. Yes. Much like what happened to you guys last night. And Michael, perhaps you can show them in on all the aspects of the late line and the other information we found out about the location. This was what we all found out from the werewolf. Now you can get mad at me if you want but we struck a deal with the werewolf. And he's actually been released. Provided us with a lot of information Michael is going to fill you in with it. He provided us with a coin that will permit us to break the barriers to get into the bee foundation. Jade, that was probably a smart move on your part. An enraged werewolf could have taken your entire team down. I very rarely had exposure to missions that ran into a werewolf but I have had one or two missions and when it's happened it's never been good. There's always been fatalities. I mean I grieve for John and I am devastated. Do we have a body we need to remove from the safe house at this point? No we've got a lot of blood that needs to be cleaned up but other than a dead dog the rest is in the werewolf. Oh okay. So Sister Kate lost her guard dog right? Yeah. Clean and crew in there. You say it's not, I mean how did he find you? Is that safe house? How was it not Capra? When we were in the battle in our place where they tried to kill us and... The alleyway, alleyway. The market John's blood was left behind and he traced it. He saw him use the werewolf laws. He had the blood to trace it. So he was the warning. He was the one who we thought that was the case but we weren't sure. And again all along he thought we were the good guys and I did my best to convince him that we still are. So Michael's going to fill you in on what we know about the... What's that? How much do you trust him at this point? Because this safe house seems like it's only been breached due to his... Put it bluntly supernatural abilities to be able to track down. If anybody's tracking him they can track him to here obviously. I'm wondering if we don't need to move you again. I think we won't need to move from here because we can't live here. In the state that this house is in. The cleaning crew is on its way. I get a cleaning crew in there. How clean are they? I think we're coming to the end of what's going on here. I think we have enough information that we're going to be moving in the next day or two. Did you ask him about the task force about reagents? No. He should have but I don't think he had that knowledge anyways. But we hopefully will be in contact with him soon. You were supposed to get his names and numbers. I had nothing but 12 people that disappeared and got it. Absolutely. I just do it on that account. I just really want to know the answer to that question right now because he seems to be in tune at least a bit with what you described to me and what's going down in the... I was in a delicate nature where I was trying to convince him that we were still the good guys. And I don't know how he viewed those 12 people. And I didn't necessarily want to associate myself with them in his current state. If it were necessary, could you find him again? Well, he can find me. Yeah, we will be about that. But yes, we have a point of his that he was given by his spirit guide that allowed him to break through our barriers here. And we're going to use that coin to break through the barriers at the same time. It's kind of relic or something. It's a powerful magic item. I'm not sure if it's a relic right now, but yeah. Yeah, I'd like to get a look at that and I'll see if it's a relic, sir. You're going to get the boss to tell you. That's what you're doing here, Michael. I was just trying to contribute to the team. What are you talking about, right? Actually, I think Michael's skills might be better used in figuring out how to deal with the ritual we need to do to end this particular. But, Michael, please fill them in on the situation there because it's key for you to help us to decide what we're going to do with this location once you manage to take out the big bed. Okay, one second. Mike, you can wait. He put you all on hold. Ooh. And I am. He is gone for about two minutes or so, and then he's back. Okay, Michael, sorry about that. Go ahead. It appears that the location of the bike shop and now the vitamin B corporation has what Billy says is a locus convergence of. I've heard that term before we used. Spiritual energy, manpower, magic. Right. It's got some magical properties that people are always playing over. Right. Well, that happens to be a major spot. Interesting. Now, we haven't confirmed this, but we've seen enough B action to make it seem valid. But he's saying that there's a gathering of Shartha or B spirit hosts or B hosts. From the shadow. Yeah, I have no idea what that means. That's okay. All right. We're learning here. Spirits of nature, the queen is called a Mira Eutharas. All right. And their only way to eliminate her as a threat is to perform some type of ritual using a band. Some type of device or ritual. Have heard of bands. Right. I haven't had any, and no one in my strike teams back at Task Force Valkyrie ever used a band in action. But I've heard of other groups who have used bands to either incapacitate or force an action of something of a less than corporeal nature. I think. Right. And so what we need to do is we need, like Jay said, I need to get involved with some of my research assets and determine what that band is and determine what ritual might go with it. And hopefully get the details straight so we can put an end to this threat. Sounds like it's a pretty powerful locus. All right, research. Especially if you've got three different groups fighting over it. So I wonder if it doesn't have something, you know, there might be some connection to the fallen agents. Okay. Let's break this down. Is everyone there? Is everyone safe besides Jon? We still have Tony in the hospital, and Dr. Lucius is missing in action. He disappeared after all. So also apparently Tony has will parts. So that might be a concern. We're safest. We've ever been, boss. Which is not at all. The only problem with moving you is that the next closest safe house is Newark close to. Ohio said that's awesome. We actually have an agreement with Billy that he may be coming back to here to help us watch out over the place and sleeping in the garage. Oh. Without the coin, we're not sure you can even get into the house, but he still may be able to, his power might be so great that he could shatter that. I think he could still come in and do a little damage in here. Even that produced power. How quick are you to enacting an attack upon what even be? How close do you think you are with the ban, having the ban, and the information you need, the items you need to take out. Not only was mentioned, but Billy apparently can do magic as well. And when we were speaking to him, he did a spell and told us we already had the ban. Really? Just need to find out the ritual to trigger it well. First we have to find out what the ban is, and then the ritual to trigger the ban. So for sure we might have gotten the clues for it yet, we just haven't put the pieces together. Much closer to Henry. But Henry disappeared into a swarm of bees. And a rotting corpse. That too. That we lost control of. I'd also suggest that Billy is more powerful than any type of world I've heard of before with the ability to invoke spiritual powers and do what he's done. So he will also remain a threat that has to be handled at some point. I think also the reason we're calling is what do we do? I mean we can take care of the chartha, but then there's a power vacuum. What happens to the locus? Who takes control of the locus? That's an excellent question. Do we knock away? If I didn't tell you right the second, I don't have an answer to that question. But it's a lot of enough to know sometimes it's better just to say I don't know. And I don't know what the answer is, that I'm certainly going to try to find out. But I have a cleaning crew coming there first off because obviously we can't have a bloody house. How about the church? The church. That's interesting. We have a church in Ohio City, don't you let you permanently attend? Yes. I mean churches were associated with that. Occasionally they have gas chambers for either dignitaries coming in from out of state or out of town. And they have that as well, right? That's a possibility. Plus it wouldn't hurt to be on a holy ground. My concern is that for all we know, Billy or William Hopson is completely believable. And completely being honest. And then he got high and tells somebody where you're at. And I have not one dead agent which is absolutely... We're doing better than the other team. Yes, you are. But we have five dead agents. And I don't know if we can risk that right now. I'm going to make a call to your poggery sister. And see if I can't get you into the rectory so that you can stay somewhere as Michael just mentioned. It's a consecrated ground in the same Ohio City area. And that way we can allow for you to continue the investigation and hopefully still be hidden from sight. Because it doesn't sound like the bees can track your location. Is that something we're all in agreement of? I don't know, they found us at the wineries somehow. They found us at the library. No, I don't know what they did. They have. And there's just A-B. I think they're everywhere. There's their bees. We don't know where they are. Okay, bees are everywhere. But does every bee automatically... I don't think the actual bees work for you. We look for you like regular old bees, right? I mean like in a garden. If there's a bee, I don't think we have to worry about a bee in a garden. We have to worry about this type of spirit bee or whatever. What I'm saying is that they're small and they're everywhere and they can fly all around the city. They can infect people and we don't know who's infected. So their spy network is completely enormous and we don't know. It very well could be. That's a good point. Mr. Tate, just to bring you up to speed on some of the other things that... There's more that Billy mentioned. When we talked about the power vacuum and who was Philip, he mentioned and I mentioned all the things he did. Okay. You're here in the background keyboard. He's obviously... He's checking Wikipedia. As he goes in taking notes from this conversation, most definitely. So as far as the powers that are in this neighborhood, those are the ones because of Billy. We now are... The nadar, the shartha, the pure, the locus, the actual place. So we've got some kind of spirit bees. We've got some kind of werewolf that is not his kind of werewolves. Not associated with... And we've got the mage, which we know about. And then we have some dark spirits that may be involved as well. So we've got our hands full when this all goes down. We certainly want to have the nation building aspects, if you will, of what's going to happen once. I don't think our crew is particularly that crew that wants to be here. I don't think that's where we want him at all in that particular aspect of what we need to do. You want to send in the diplomatic branch of... We'll definitely be working on that being planned as we move forward. But again, I have to tell you, I just don't have an answer for what's going to happen there. So let's move you to the church. Okay, we've got choos theory that bees are everywhere and they're flying all around these spirit bees. So what do they recognize you from 20 feet in the air? Yeah, I would say so. Okay, choos says yes. Do they know... Do we think that these bees communicate it at all, at any point? Anything about you? Yes, we spend the buzzing in the alleyway that they talk to each other, obviously that way. Right. We had the bees that we tackled that came out of Henry at the beginning. They must have told vitamin B about us because they knew a lot about what happened in that particular system. So we think there might be a hive mind. What have they seen? Everything. Well, they haven't seen... Well, from Henry's perspective... To your knowledge. They know what cars we drive. No, but in Henry's perspective, they knew that we all worked in the wine bar. Uh-huh. And that's where they came back to when they tried to kill us. And didn't you take Henry up to your condo? Or somebody took up to their condo? Oh, Tony did. Tony's condo. Right, Tony, that's where you're back. And then they're in a common room or something like that. Anyways, okay. And what did you just say to you that didn't know the cars we drive? Hey, do we have consensus on that? Anyone want cars we drive? Henry knows what cars we drive. And you think that through the hive mind, Henry communicated your cars? When Henry died, all the bees flooded out of them and went away. We assumed they went back to vitamin B. Fearing any knowledge that Henry had. Yeah. Well, that's new. All right. You're going to take public transportation? Oh, the boss. RTA to the rescue. To the church. They don't know about my car. They shouldn't know about your car, that's true. They shouldn't know about my car. Okay, that's fine. Okay, you can definitely keep the vehicle. I know you prize it, but we might have needed to park it back at home. Go ahead and take that to the church. I'll have two more different vehicles. Just leave the vehicles there at the same time. You know what? I'd rather leave my car behind as much as I really don't want to do that. Because Billy's seen it. And I don't want Billy telling somebody by accident. Do you have a purpose? Yeah, history almost hit. And that car is pretty unique. Yeah. All right. Okay. So I'll have two new cars at the church for you. I mean new. I don't mean new. I mean different. So that they can no longer look at the impalas and know that there's a potential that could be you. Or maybe they know the license plate. Or who God knows what they know at this point. So let's try, third time's a charm for the safe house at the church. Let's see if that works. And let's see if there's any threats. I'll put surveillance on the second safe house to see if anything happens. And know that maybe eventually if we can maybe use this again. Because if nothing happens in the next couple weeks, then I think we can safely say we can move you back in. I give him a description of Billy and say if anybody spots him, don't engage. Right. They'll be telling back to the situation. Okay. So I'll clean it out. Yeah. Jesus. So we don't have a body. What happened to you? You can basically get beaten. Is that what you're telling me? That's what it sounds like. We have an arm. The most of what was left to him is gone. Have a dead dog and arm. Just leave everything. Fuck that's a blood. Leave everything there. I'll have the cleaning crew get rid of it all. All right. Sorry for your loss guys. We have weapons of transport. You guys want silver? Yeah, maybe. I'm thinking it might not be the worst idea to have, to have a lease a little bit, maybe a couple rounds for each of your guns. I mean it's expensive as shit, but we had them in the task force, Valkyrie Armory. I'm sure I can requisition some and get some out to you guys. Also any weapons that would affect spirits would be welcome. How about like a flamethrower? Ghostbuster gun. Pro-time pack. Pro-time pack. There you go. What a flamethrower. Work against a swarm of bees. Yeah. You know that was a question. Walk it down the street without it. You know boss, why are like a good old-fashioned arson and vitamin B? It's the middle of construction and the noise accidents. Not a slum down, but that's not going to stop. Are we really burning an entire neighborhood now? No, just one building. I mean it's getting slum down, but that's not going to destroy the folk guys. It's not going to kill the queen. The people who are affected by the bees I think are, once we get the bees out of them. Didn't Billy say we killed the queen and the rest will follow? They'll go back to the spirit. These are people who are possessed by spirits. I don't know if you want to go ahead and kill these people. Or of a strategic strike kind of guy based on the interest you've given me so far. I mean Nuke from Oregon is an option. If we burn the place, we clear the place out. When we disguise ourselves as the fire inspector is the next day, which will give us access to the whole run of the place. Obviously the fire won't destroy the locus, but then that will give us an opportunity to get in there and perform the ritual. And the ban. The real quick, sorry Mike Danner up. Have you guys done a steak out? We're not qualified. Damn it. Tony was something I could do it. I would definitely suggest trying some aspects of that to see who's coming, who's going, what kind of security they have. I mean there's just so much we don't know about that building right now. And it wasn't important until this point. We don't need to do the ban on the focus. We need to do it on the lake. Well she lives right around the corner from the wine bar, where we go to a warehouse. We don't need to burn the building down. That's my understanding anyway. We need to drive the queen spirit from her body. What we really need to do is the ban. Wow. Yes. That's step one. So what do you want to do when you stake out the corporation? Yeah, I think the corporation will see what the company does. Personally, it's a stake out. It's not an engagement as far as battle goes. As long as you haven't been compromised and we don't think besides your cars and the first safe house you have by vitamin B. I'm just saying what you guys have told me. It sounds like you have the ability to then maybe split up, case both places. Research the ban as well. That would be the three-pronged attack I would go with here. Two, two and one. Michael, you're researching the ban because it's what you do. Yeah, how are we searching for us? We have access. And then we've got the doctor, hopefully, if we can find him. We've got to find the doctor, obviously, but we'll do as best we can. We can't make him appear out of thin air. Well, other of you guys do the house, or three and one, or you change shit. I don't care. We've got to know what's going on in the ground for. Before you attempt any kind of ritual to confront Meredith Burke or the Murrah Mathyrus, we need more information. But it sounds like you think you might have the ban in your possession. Just be a figure out for information about the ban in your possession. Does he just know about her? Are all these the same type? It sounds like it's a queen bee. But what are the lesser ones? Drones. That's good, but he like know what that means. We don't. You know what I'm saying? Probably a question we wanted to ask was, what could they do? Does the angel support too much faith into the werewolf drug addict? You just don't like Billie. Just because he does drugs. You know, like me too. Well, I don't like your friends. So that's kind of where I started with the not your friend. That is right. Wasn't your friend too? Didn't you like the chum? Didn't you like chum? I was burning, I went... Not really. You're not really. At least he's honest. He didn't like chum. He didn't like the puzzle. I didn't. So there. So he once again senses condolences. I know you probably got close to him in the field and you lost someone. And I'm going to do everything in my power from a great distance away. And I'm not there taking the same risks you guys are. But I'm going to do everything in my power to get some equipment to you guys. To get some more information to you guys and do whatever I can to make this successful. And I would have would hold for the time being this information from John's family because it's too delicate of a situation. So we're not going to mention anything about his death. Okay. Good work guys. We lost John, but you guys really seem to turn a corner on the information side of things today. No thanks boss. After I hang up, I get a piece of paper and I note, you know, the pen and I go out to the garage. I don't, I don't assume Billy's sitting out there. No, he's not. I just write a note that says Billy don't panic. You know where to find me, Jay. Stick it up on the wall because we're leaving here and I tell them we'd be here. Did you tell him to hang out in the garage? Yeah. I don't remember that part. I offered the garage for a place to crash if he, so he might be back. And I warn the guys that are the cleaners in the guards that are watching for people here not to, not to mess with him. Well, no one appears yet. Are you waiting until they appear? That's going to have to be associated with a bloody cleaning crew. No, we don't need to be here. Yeah. Okay. How are you transporting our items to your church? I mean, it would be a little awkward to get out of a boss with a sniper rifle. Are items to your, I don't think a tower case. I have a vast and a sniper rifle. Can you put it in a double bag or something? I guess so. I'm sure it comes apart. Yeah, we'll say with a little bit of creativity, if you will. We're making a quick run up to the... I was going to have metal detectors on the bus. Well, those kind of break down pretty ease. You know, by designing it to fit into smaller pieces. And hooking during this thunderstorm is probably a good time because there's not a lot of bees flying around. Yup. Let's go. Alright, so the cigarettes with you gathering up your goods, if you will, your possessions. Heading to the boss and taking a boss to St. Patrick's Cathedral. Where we will shall seek sanctuary. Ha, what you been looking at to ask? We're going to St. Patrick's. And we'll call it there. Let me break in real quick and let you know that if you're just interested in the story, you can stop listening now. But if you'd like to hear what the players have to say about what's going on in the story and make guesses, then please continue to listen right after this problem. Okay, Carol, now you take these notes and we're about ready to begin. Okay, sure. Well, what are you two doing here? We don't record until tomorrow. We're making a new promo for all games considered since you were dragging your feet getting one written. Hey! She's right, though. It's been too long and a lot has happened since the last promo. Yeah, like winning the Gold Any for Best Gaming Podcast for 2009. You mean the one you try to work into the conversation every other episode? Hey, now now there's more than that. There's the new format. You mean the main show every two weeks and the assortment of other features in the meantime? Right, like games you may never have heard of, the review in new shows. Don't forget the RPG buffet. And on the main show we have more time to focus on gaming topics. Like board and card games. And RPGs. And the people who play them from the old school to the newest of the new. But no changing. But no changing. Hey! Find out more at AGCPotcast.info. All games considered because there's more than one true way to play. [music] So, everyone roll die ten for the wrap up phase of the evening. Jim, Tom, Mike, and Chew. Jim, what did you learn tonight that you did not know before as far as the story goes? As far as the story goes, you learned a lot tonight. Yes, you did. The most important thing we learned tonight was more information about the vitamin B headquarters, but the whole locust thing and the whole queen thing. That's information in holes that we were listening. Right. Good stuff. Tom? You learned why John died, how John died, and how the guy got into the house, and how we can use that coin for our use. Mike, I think we've probably put a name to the target to our number one enemy. I think we've got a whole bunch of enemies here, but the number one is the Mirafaris, the Queen B. I know I've been harping on it, but I still think the enemy number two is that we've got a very powerful and deadly werewolf. So, we found out who our third player is. Yeah, what did you learn about the supernatural that you just didn't know? That some spirits have bands that can be used to decrease their powers and a weakness that can be exploited that we need to take advantage of. And maybe in the future there will be other spirits and forces that have weaknesses that we can exploit. Good stuff. Mike, I learned that my ancient enemy is more deadly than I ever thought. I did not realize that worlds have the power to use spirits or evoke spells. Tom? Well, I guess I learned about focus in the fact that they're definitely battlegrounds for dominance and that they can actually be warped and changed their effect in essence by who's controlling it. Right. He called it the residence of a focus and that the residents can give residents. The residents can give essence to the residents of the focus. All right. And Jim, I learned that there are things and powers and items and such that can overcome even the faith of God. And the world is disturbing. Which, yeah, kind of freaked her out a bit. She figured out that, yeah, the item that actually got her past the protection around the house. It was just stunning. She stunned about it. Very good. Michael, personally, is in desperate need of the rest. Oh, yeah, I've exhausted and we've been, you know, between the carbon monoxide, the bashing and the carbon monoxide, the building exploding. That's right. The building exploding, the being chased, being attacked and the psychological trauma that I just went through tonight. So I need to get some sleep if I'm going to be in. Just to recuperate willpower. Yeah, I think all of us need some recovery. So, well, I thought tonight from a storyteller standpoint had a chance to be absolutely bloody. I mean, just a bloody crazy, you know, it was a standoff moment. Yeah, it was, I didn't want to, as a storyteller, lend any bias to your decisions. I wanted you guys to go into it and in that say, oh, it's supposed to be a guy you don't want to mess with. He booked, so helpless and tied up and whatnot. But I'd have to say that it probably would turn out a lot differently had not Jay started off so calm. I thought because of the death of John, your character was to be much more aggressive in the interrogation. You know, slap across the face, possibly even some physical pain involved, which would have tripped him so fast. I don't think at this point in your career is a full-off fight with a spontaneous fight with a werewolf. You know what all that would have been good because you need to be prepared for facing something like that. Which is why, I mean, seriously, she was thinking I should just shoot him. I should do a benediction on my gun, make it super lethal, and shoot the dude right in the head. But he walked into this house that she protected, was reduced to the power, and she didn't know at that time that he used the coin to put himself down, and she thought if he can walk into this house and do that, and just totally just command it and slaughter somebody like that, that she wasn't about to mess with her. Sometimes discretion is the better part of the house. So what you saw is starting to do that spell, that's what she did. You walked behind Jay, and she was going to do a benediction on his weapon, help him kill the werewolf, that's what was going to go down. Jay's father is a pastor, and he deals with drug people all the time. First of all, his father hates drugs, which is difficult for Jay to deal with. But Jay has been raised in an environment where he's dealt with people, messed up by drugs before, so that's why I was playing in this game. I wasn't sure just how much of death it was. Yeah, I was thinking to go in that route too. To be fair, you guys have only really known him for six weeks, it's still up. Yeah, you're supposed to get him out of there. So I thought you guys played it with a pretty good, you played very good as well. One of my mortal enemies are shape-changers and werewolves. I thought we were dealing with the realm of the spiritual, and so I'm okay, I can keep separation there. But once we realized that no, we're dealing with a werewolf, there were some key points that we're talking right about werewolves that don't suffer from living at all. It was very hard. Training from your domination into your group, it had to be pretty impressive. But there's a whole problem of how do you kill him? Right. Yeah, and seriously, I mean, it's very difficult, obviously, to do so. I would have assumed that when he was in human farming, we could have taken him out if he did it quickly before he could change blood. I think one of the interesting things about this game, at least the world darkness in general, is we haven't been playing it very long, and you don't really know, like all the fit, like, you know, D&D. Oh, it's a white dragon. It's going to breathe. You just know. And here you're like, fuck, werewolf. Like, does silver work? I don't know. Does he heal in human form? I don't know. Does he, you know, can we kill him? I don't know. You know, it's just great because that's how an actual bunch of, that's why they do this thing at the end of each story where they say, what did you learn about the supernatural? This game session, because of notches in your belt of, we know they can do this. We know they can do that, because there's so much you don't know about the world darkness, that it's nice to be able to say, hey, we will learn something. We know that werewolves can do magic. That's different. You know, I thought mages could do magic, not werewolves. Yeah, I was pretty sure that Benjamin was involved when that happened. Well, that raises an issue too, that in a way there's going to be four endings or four different kind of endings here. If we succeed in feeding the queen bee, then we still have to resolve Billy. And then there's also resolve the issue with Billy. No, you have to resolve Billy. Well, I don't think the idea of leaving a, or that there's werewolves in a... I suffer a werewolf to live. I don't think our job was to come in and clean Cleveland of all things bad. I'm just saying, if this is where we're going to be living, it's going to be something that's going to happen. And then one thing that resonates in... And Benjamin's on, you know, Benjamin's on the radar now. It's really the wrong Billy to be a happy vampire. Billy was saying... It really kept saying, I thought you were the good guys, and the bad guys normally don't say that kind of stuff. He might have been wrong, he might be dead out of it, he might be out in drugs. He killed my dog, and he killed my best friend. But he thought, and listen, he thought he was doing the right thing out. That's different than he knows he was doing evil, and he was going in here to do evil on purpose. He might have been wrong, and he might have to be killed and stop, but he thought he was doing the right thing. Every villain is a hero of their own story. He's not a drug addict bum. It's one of those... Well, no one here has the higher notes. No, not so much. I think it's good, Mike. You should feel very strongly about your point of view. And it makes for interesting rope, Mike. It would have been really boring if everyone just sat here and agreed that... Oh, he's a poor soul. Poor drug addict. Yeah, I had a rough flight. Well, let's send him along to his redemption. I was actually thinking of playing that route where Billy will help you with your problems. And that problem that we were helping with was a bullet upside down when we were done. Right. And I was actually thinking that for a while until I started to assess his power level and... Yeah. Well, we are so going to get... He's not just about a loop. He's not bad at all if he does magic. Right. I mean, it's not bad at all if he's a werewolf. He's a mage. I mean, he might be a vagrant on drugs, and not really sure where he's going on. He outlived his right to his pack, and he's been around... It seems like he's been around for a pretty long time, so he knows how to survive. And he... They have saved us so many reasons. More than a werewolf is a loop guru, and he's, you know, even worse. Supposed in the dressing world, but still. I like it. Right. And again, he's... We got a number one enemy, and he might be an enemy that's helping us defeat that enemy. And while that's going on, that's okay. And if he becomes number one later... Right. He may work his way up the food chain, but you guys handle however you want. I mean, there's no right or wrong answer. You know, if you would have thought with an idea, it would have been bloody. Could you have taken him out? Maybe. Maybe. If you would have had surprise, I mean, like, maybe you shot him up, and then everyone just, you know, as he was... You know, he was standing around. Right. Just, you know, wailing on a little bit of time that he was kind of out of it. I'm sure he would have tried to fight his way through it, but it would have been interesting to see how it played out. But I fully expected to have to say, okay, take out the map. I want to take out a map because I want to have it go one way or another. If I put a map out, a battle map out, then you guys are like, oh, there's going to be combat tonight. So I wanted to leave it without the map, and just say, if it happens, I'll pull out a map and draw a quick 20 by 20 room, and we'll duke it out. But it would have been really interesting with your powers against his, in a more weakened state that he was in. Side street's Billy, or William Hopson, back in the day, you know, absolute massacre. This had every chance to be a TPK, but I've seen you guys do incredible things too. Then we all would have been asked for, you know, healing. I mean, well, we need the seven successes. Five successes. I mean, that's serious damage, even to a werewolf. So, you know, that to me is kind of... Yeah, I'm not bad with a handbag on it, but I'm a killer.
