As the storm intensifies the Task Force retreat into their second safehouse to investigate the apparent murder of their colleague, John Beamer. As they bind the likely murderer for questioning and perhaps worse, they realize that the path forward is not as clear as it seemed moments earlier...

[Music] Hello, and welcome to the Knights of the Night actual play podcast. This World of Darkness story behind shit luck was written and run by our storyteller, Scott. And now, please enjoy chapter 11, scene 1, titled, "Conundrum". All right, we're gathered tonight for chapter 11, and the World of Darkness story shit luck with us tonight from right to left, R. I'm playing the character, Jay. I am Jim. I'm playing sister Katie O'Connor. I'm not playing Chupark. I'm playing Michael Play. Okay, let's paint a picture. We have a small safe house in Ohio City. A thunderstorm has rolled in just as you were pulling up to the safe house. When you entered the safe house, because the door was opened and seemed as if Side Street Philly was departing from the house and you haven't struck them with your card, but for the good driving of sister Katie O'Connor. Seems as if the safe house had been breached. This safe house was provided by Jade and Yebask, and we are no longer calling it a safe house. As storyteller, I make all the safe house. You may call it an unsafe house. So, the rain's falling. You have gone inside the home. You've found a scene of utter horror. Your friend and colleague, John Beamer, has been ripped to shreds and very little of him remains. Sister Katie's watchdog that was at home with John Beamer has also met its end, unfortunately. Lay, I believe. Is that correct? Mm-hmm. The hallway and the bedrooms are slick with gore. You've done some investigation, Chub, into what you think caused this, how you think this all went down. And then you obviously brought Side Street Billy back into the home, into this safe house, and had put him in a chair and tied him up. And that's where we left the scene last time we played. So, here there's some rain falling. The smell in the house is awful. That could be OFFAL if you prefer, because it's just a really bad smell from the death, the stink of death in the house. And now, you also have Side Street Billy in all his vagrant glory tied in that chair, and he is one disgusting looking human being. I mean, greasy hair, teeth that are almost falling out, you know, they're just rotten in his mouth, hasn't showered, and God knows when. Clothes that are just soaked with sweat, urine, blood. His mouth is caked with blood, maybe even the blood of John Beamer. It's really quite a difficult scene to take, and even look at him, and certainly to breathe in deeply is difficult. Does the blood of Billy, does it appear to be relatively recent, or is it old dried blood? One last replay, Chub did his investigation, and he believes that the blood on Side Street Billy has a very strong probability of being the blood from John Beamer. Or from some fresh corpse, it's not Side Street Billy's blood. Does it look like his teeth would be stained with blood, or like in the inside of the mouth? His entire face and mouth region, his beard, there are chunks of gore in his beard, and his lips, but there's also some wet stuff as well. It's hard to tell with his mouth, you know, he's not really talking right now, his mouth is open a little bit, because he's kind of like half passed out. And you can see the blood trickling down his chin from the side of his mouth, in the corner of his mouth, but you're not quite certain if that is coming from the inside of his mouth, or caught on his mouth, it's tough to say. Dr. Miles, last week, said that he was malnourished and looked incredibly sickly, but that it didn't look like he was damaged by the car you stopped in time. It didn't look like he had any wounds on him that were open for the blood, so the blood helped you draw the conclusion that, along with the blood on his boobs. And the boop prince going through the house helped you believe that that was John Beamer's blood, and not. That's kidding, Side Street Billy's the one to turn him up. It says that where's the rest of his corpse? Yeah, I do want to check out John Beamer's bone and see if he contacted anyone besides us while we were gone. So you go back into the bedroom and also check it, excuse me, also check your prince. You turn his phone on, it was actually off, and you do turn it on, which is that sound, so that was surprising. It was off? Yeah, he was pushing talk with you, and now it's off. Well, it was off when you walked up and looked at it. Is the battery low? When it turns back on, the battery seems fine. Okay. You want to finish your investigation before we wake up? Yeah, this is probably the last thing I want to check out. I can spend more time to see if there's anything else, but I don't know how long we want to stay here. It's probably up to Jay. When we were in Benjamin's backyard, and we lost power to our devices, the devices stopped working because we lost the signal. Did they shut themselves down? Did we have to turn them back on when we left that zone? You had to power back up your items. Who called? I could be a fucking detective. Mark that down over there, Mr. Stark, huh? That was Jay. I don't know what you're talking about. Found his phone, and it was powered off, even though he'd just been using it, so we had to power it back on. Right. And what conclusion did you draw from that? Seriously, you can't draw that conclusion. We were in Benjamin's backyard, and all of our items powered themselves off, and we had to turn them back on. And now, John's phone is... It's a theory, I mean. It's a good theory, is that... Benjamin was involved somehow, or a mage. I don't think werewolves do that, just by being all feral. Well, I do have some knowledge of werewolves. Suddenly acquired in the previous row. There is an element of magic with them, and they have the power to possibly invoke or draw spirits to them. So maybe that magic might have interfered with the technology that we've got, but I'm not saying that to shoot down your theory. I'm saying that to put us up more guard with you. You have more knowledge than we do, and that's good to share. Well, that being the case, I would like to investigate a little bit more to see if I'd find something that indicates that there would be his present. You want to look more closely? Or something like that? You want to look more closely in the room? I think over the whole entire house. And I was keeping a look outside. Right, I figured you'd open up a few windows, actually, because the stench that is currently inhabiting the home. What is the stench, blood? The blood and gore from the demise of the dog, and seemingly of John Beamer, and then Side Street Billy. I mean, closed, soaked with swadd in urine, and sweat, teeth that are almost rotting out here that's stringy and greasy. It hasn't been washed in weeks. I was thinking that I'm going to go outside and try to trace it. It only steps to see if I could find the remainders. I don't think that it's safe right now. John, maybe we could see if there's any obvious bee stings. It has a doctor exam in Side Street. Yes. And Side Street Billy is currently moaning in the chair. He's not quite two. He mones a little bit when he falls unconscious again. When he mones a little bit, then he falls unconscious again. So it doesn't seem to be, I guess, the times that he's moaning in conscious seem to be lasting a little longer. It's all the information trying to look hard here. Dr. Lucius did do a quick examination of him. Said there was no bodily injury to him whatsoever that he could make out. And he was severely dehydrated and malnourished. What I was looking for in particular was fingerprints with sting marks in it similar to... He didn't remove his clothing. And he didn't look at his pockets and found some basic items, you know, a pocket knife and coins. Well, there was one coin that it was old and it was rubbed down and no one could really tell what... It was just like ancient, like really old. I don't know if ancient is the right word, but it certainly looked old. And that was one coin that he followed. He didn't say he was taking it. It's not like a gold color, isn't it? Yeah, I would say it's goldish, sure. I never face it. I'm not sure. He's moldy-tasking. Poor lady. Well, actually, I'm not. I'm single-tasking in series. What? Well, you have my full attention, sir. In Side Street, Billy's pocket was found a coin, which is unusual and old and seems to be made of gold. His gold color. Let's not jump zany. It seems to be really cool. It's a cool color. It's really two different thoughts. No, I suppose it shows. All right, has Billy reacted when we removed this coin from him? You know, Dr. Lucius didn't say he was removing it. He said he was patting him down to see if there was anything interesting in this person. Can we assume Dr. Lucius' love when dealing with it? Oh, my God, yes. Dr. Lucius, there's no way he would have touched it. And would this coin be some kind of ancient denari or something like that? It's now he's catching up. It's rubbed down to an extent that it's almost impossible at this point and with a naked eye to be able to tell where it's from. Well, I'm sorry, but in the sense that it's unusual to have a gold coin in my eyes. Well, I said gold. You hear me? See, look. Well, I can-- Mr.-- You can't boil around a chocolate candy. It's a chocolate candy. It is a gold coin. Gold color. And it's just his top towel right here in the field with dim white and draining outside. And it's just-- I can find out more about the coin. But size and shape of it and weight and thickness. It doesn't look like anything like-- Right, larger than a quarter, they're like a half dollar size coin. And the weight of it? And the weight's about the same as a half dollar. Roughly that amount. And it seems like a burnish gold color. Are we interested in this coin? Yes. I am afraid of this coin because there are things-- What do you mention with the denari? Well, specifically-- There are things about my order and what I do that werewolves are bad news. And we, you know, have to be very careful. And there might be something in the form of spiritual fetishes or objects of power. Not quite artifacts or relics. But this thing might be either a source of power or control on Billy. And actually, I would prefer to-- Wait, is Billy unconscious when we're talking? He's not conscious. He's falling in and out of a conscious. Is he around us? Even when he's conscious? Yes, he's definitely around you. Is his eyes open and watches? His eyes are rolled back and he's moaning right now. Okay. Well, what I'd like to do is I point to Billy and then draw my finger across the throat. What? No way. So, not before questioning. What happened to John? Where's John's body? We've got some pieces, right? We've got an arm. We assume it's John's. Remind me of something about John. What's going on? It wasn't John endowed with claws. It was all the hand. It was one hand and it was the other. Now, do I know this anything about a werewolf transformation or a full transformation where do they just transform completely or does like the human body like rip apart and the animal from within the spirit, the animal within come out. You know, shove the skin. I just want to go ahead and make a wigs plus occult rope. I don't know if I can make an occult rope to know what. Whigs plus occult for you as well. Let me know how many dice you have when you're writing. I have five dice. Don't roll yet. Unless I make use of my dagger. Oh, really? The dagger is valid. What's that do again? In this particular instance, I believe it was supposed to aid you in research, not in actual remembering. Is that correct? Well, actually, no. That has advised the perfect recall. Power. Reads to me, please, Mike. Oh, you're going to make me look it up. Yeah. Okay. Don't come back. Let me take your jim. I'm going to down an elixir. It's just heightens my perception so I can notice more things. Okay. I'm rolling six dice. I'm going to use psychometry on the coin to determine its point of function. Okay. Only one. I rolled six dice. I got one success, but that's all I really need to do. Oh, you need. You are now heightened. My perception is eight instead of the previous five. Right. Unfortunately, you-- Yeah. You smell a little better. In a sense that you're actually picking up sense a little better, which is a little bit disturbing. Maybe you go to the window a few more times to breathe out. But definitely, your vision is just tingling and you feel absolutely like you're on the balls of your feet, like just ready for anything to happen. Right. First thing I check out you, she was asking about any sign of bees, wings, or, you know, carcasses or anything. So I go into where John's room was and I start looking in there. Right. I'm going to hold you up just for a second. I forget the people who were doing something as well, and I want to just don't want to double up with you. Oh, it's doing the caught well. Five dice. You have five dice and you also had six dice. I had six dice for life because of the encyclopedic knowledge of the relic. I can make an intelligence plus what's for all any time my character is confronted with a situation of phenomena outside of his normal realm of experience. If they're all successful, I may recall his haptoid. Okay. I am not going to allow you to do it. Okay. This reason. It says outside your realm of knowledge. You actually have a good realm of knowledge of a cult. If you fail, it is now outside your knowledge. And you may wish to then make another role to try to find a fact out. So both of you are looking for what you know about werewolves. Can you be a little more specific? The phone turning off the mage then werewolves have that ability. I'd really like to know that. Do you think Zoon and Ora that shuts down digital mechanical devices? I think I know that already. I'm going to let you roll for... that'll be part of the question you're answering. Okay. Do you wish to ask something else? Also, the actual transformation has John Beamer been completely consumed by the spirits of werewolves and what we see... well it looks like the bloody remains of John Beamer is actually when he transformed into a full werewolf. He sheds whatever the human part is now a werewolf. You think John might have become a werewolf? Well there's the... Imagine the human is a suit and the wolf is inside and when he finally transforms, he explodes out. I think there's a blood. So what I think he's trying to say is that the pieces parts in the room could be... Well John, this understood it. One thing you might have missed last week was, I think, the quantity of blood that is everywhere. It was more than two liters, which is more than a human being can lose. So keep that in mind. Give me the knowledge you're trying to find besides what the question... Well then, how about we think with the... since you served on the scroll and therefore transcribed many tales of different artifacts and different tales of events that happened in the field, there was two dice and because this bit of knowledge is... Basically it's not so hard to find out, but I'm not going to subtract any dice. So what's two dice? They are our primary enemies. They are served on the scroll. So go ahead and scroll section of the ages kind of door rules. It's not like that. And by the way, you're a book for a dice call. I personally really hate werewolves too. So seven dice, Michael. Oh, so that's why they kill me. Tell me how many successes you have. Killing him. Alright. Alright. I have seven dice. What do they have? Hachimachi. Nothing. Hachimachi. I've got three ones though. I don't know. You need two more to get yachtsi. You believe, although you're not 100% certain, that werewolves have powers above and beyond their ability to be ferocious. They have powers that are given to them by the spirits. And those powers can sometimes manifest in different ways. So I would give you a hell of a lot more than that if you made a success. But it's such a basic analogy. You would at least know that. I would say there's a possibility, but I can't verify it. Yeah. Well, I want more than that. Well, I want to know. Is there a way to verify that? I suppose if we kill him and cut out his brain and... Okay, we're not killing him until we question him. What I want to know is... Oh, by the way... I'm sorry, go ahead. Is there a history or in the past, where werewolves always? Ben, as far as I know, inherently evil is correct. You have five plays, correct? Yeah. Okay, I'm going to give you, based on Christianity's long-running history with shape shifters, I'm going to give you an extra die. And go ahead and make that world. Three successes. Three successes. The only stories you've ever heard of werewolves have been stories of rampaging, murder, rape, and death-feeding frenzies in rage. That's what your mentors have taught you. That's what the old books that you've delved into in the occult section of, you know, Christian libraries. That's probably what you believe more than anything else. You probably haven't read across too many stories in your brief time as a member of Malia's Melopterum. You got all that without a butter knife? You got all that without a butter knife? Because... Well, to be fair, I'm likely going to get it with the butter knife. Oh, that's right. Because she's already used any good call on your butter knife to miss your role. That's right. Whether or not you want to use it, you call it on my virtue or what? She's relying on her faith that there's no way you could have got in here and did that much damage and been bad. She's confused because I know these guys are usually bad. But he got in here and did some massive damage and did not disrupt her holy... The thing if I ground and circle that I put around here, so there was no way he got put in here and didn't do this much damage unless he was good. He receives a phone call as you just heard and he does this for a second to you guys and steps outside on the porch where it's covered with rain to take a phone call. I'm confused because I'm convinced that he didn't come in here. Well, there is one possibility that I can think of right now and that is... Is there a chance that he was already hidden inside the safe house before you put the... It would expel him? He would definitely want to get the hell out. If he was able to feel so powerful he could have stayed here, he would have been greatly reduced in power and would not have been able to do this much damage. Would it cause him to explode and leave two cords of blood all over the place? Actually, maybe he is greatly reducing power right now if he's trapped in his human form and isn't able to shift. So everyone's had a role here except for chew, so let's go to chew. Alright, so I'm going to try to determine the form and function of the coin using psychometry. Psychometry. Does it give you something more besides form and function? Well, let me read the description here. By holding an object in his hand, an agent can understand both its form and function. You can tell the specific brand of condom, if a briefcase has a hidden compartment, and instinctively understands when someone in the flashlights are gone. I think that's a chews favorite part of the description because I've heard it at least twice now. The condom? Mm-hmm. Or it is. Just nothing else. You've got to know about the condom. Alright, this ability doesn't limit itself to man-made objects while lifting his finger in full blood. It won't give him the victim's name. He knows the blood type and will instinctively know if he ever encounters it again. Basically, I can match finger prints between objects and stuff. So it just tells me his woman function of the coin may be what it's made out of. Okay. So what was the thing about the dipping your finger in the blood type? It couldn't tell him the name of the victim, but it could tell him the blood type. And whether you encountered it before. Right. So if you didn't feel DNA testing. So if you did that on the floor, and then you did it on Billy's mouth area, then you could link. I think I had a test kit and I tested that. Okay. It was just blood type. You could do a really quick field test for blood type human. All you could do was match the blood type. Oh. It's a real quick and it's not 100% accurate by any stretch of imagination. And DNA would take going to the hospital and using Dr. Lucius' point of strength. You could go ahead with your psychometry for us, Bob, and let me know when you're... Yeah. I'm just curious how costly that is for your character. It hurts me. Okay. If it wasn't, then you could do the floor and do the mouth. It's the same thing. Whoever you bid was that. I don't know. It still doesn't tell us that that's John. Right. Anyways. It does not. So I'm going to go ahead and make the rule in four dice then. It's psychometry. I'm sorry. Tele-informatics plus crack. Okay. Which is four dice. Are you using anything? Meaning willpower or risking willpower? No. Nothing. You can risk it and not lose any. Yeah, but I'm only rolling four dice. No, it's played. You'd be rolling seven dice. True. Just giving you all the action. And you just need a success and then you don't lose it. That's true. But I'll just give one now and hit one now. Makes sense? Two. Awesome. We just saw Mike roll six dice and that gets a success. So 7 is certainly a possibility and that wasn't a bit like it was just a thing. It's a possibility. All right. So I'm rolling seven dice now with the willpower point. All right. Two successes plus zero and another zero. Wow. Three. So a total of three successes. All right. You get a really good feeling for the coin as you kind of, you know, use it. You do like an illusionist trick with that movement between your fingers and you feel that it is made of gold. It is actually a gold coin. What's in the hands of a pocket of a completely destitute vagrant. And you feel as if, oh, oh, I don't let him touch the coin without gloves. No. Unless you have to. Do you have to touch it? Yes. Yeah. He can't. He can't use gloves. Oh, okay. That I suggest he does. He does. He does. And you also feel as if this coin opens doors. That's how I'll describe it to you. And I'm being vague on purpose. Okay. It makes sense. Okay. Okay. So that takes us around the table one full time. Go ahead. You want to tell the rest of the group. Do you feel that it's a relic in the sense that it's something that's powerful? It's form is used. And I'm like a normal coin. In the sense he's going to have to hide it from Michael. I wanted to, the reason I didn't give you, the reason I gave you the answer I did too was because no word in that description did it say detects magical items. So I'm being purposely vague because it may be magical. It may not be magical, but by giving you a more of a distinct answer than I'm giving you, I'll give it away. Right. Okay. So not to say it's magical, just to say that it's obviously unique. It's a golden coin. It just, it just says that I understand what an object is and what it's intended purposes. So that makes sense. It's gold and it's intended purposes to open doors or passages either way. You get both feelings in your head and you take some bashing damage from the, from the exertion. I do. I take one point of bashing damage. All right. Two slumps to the floor, a little, like down to one knee a little bit, holds his head with the, with the coin on there and then. I got the better deal, man. I just got to shoot up drugs. Right. Somebody found a trade. Yeah, I, I let him know my findings. Yeah. Doesn't seem to be a normal coin. It's used to open doors. Yeah. And passages. Not sure exactly what that means, but this might be some kind of relic. What, what? Well, that's my, isn't that what you call something? Yeah, isn't that, I don't know. That's why the term relics in one scotted story. What's going on? The world's changing. But it, it is in fact made of gold. And, um, can I kind of, uh, have an idea of what was imprinted on the coin before it was worn down? Would I be able to discern that information from it? I don't think so. No? I mean, you know, is there any print at all? It's form and function. Uh-huh. And that's, that's not like... Oh, it's form. Well, well, what I'm saying is the function that it had, this form is gold. Was it made of? No. It's, it's also the shape of it. And so what it, it, what the shape of it is. It's a jerk. You know. Angels. My thought being, you know, the form is, it's a round piece of gold and the function is to open passageways or door. Well, he should mention it. He has a coin being given to, let's say, in the underworld, Charon. You had to give him a coin, so he would affect a passage from your food point. Oh, that's 30. A cross river. A cross river. So, this coin possibly might be, I just want to have my relic experience, but the idea of, you know, that you are crossing boundaries or you are gaining entrance. And maybe this, you know, if we're wondering how Billy got into a place that was supposed to be sealed off from him. Wow, look at you go. Perhaps this... How is that moment? However... Apparently. This does, this is the question that is Billy being used by some other person because these type of coins, I would imagine, do not just simply float around. Could be. Not for a vagrant to have. Right. Well, when it's my turn, let me jump into it. I guess. I'm going to go back to Tom and Jay here to see what he's going to do next. I like to start. Yeah, it was very good. It was good. Well, it's nice. Come on. I can't tell if it's true or not. I was trying to make it so far that you had to incorporate it. Right. What would you like to do, Tom? I'm in the, the, the hyper interesting bedroom. Yes, so I'm doing a hyperperceptive scanning of for evidence. And if I find anything that's even slightly... Do you have an investigation? I'm like, shoot. Look at this. I do have an investigation for two. Oh. Better than I thought. I, I know more than I knew. I knew. Give me your dice call when you're done adding up. Well, what am I adding up? My perception is straight eight. You can use investigation. What's plus investigation? Plus whatever dice was added for your hyperperceptive. All right. So investigation in which is actually worse than just my normal perception. Right. But then you get your plot. I get the plus three for that. Because you're doing the crime scene analysis, which is not a little bit for my element. And if you're looking for a needle in the haystack, you'd use your perception. Right. But because you're trying to investigate and draw conclusion, I'm assuming. I'm not looking specifically just for a wing of a bee. I'm looking for anything that looks wrong. So, yes. That's what I thought. So I have my dice. I've actually risked three. I got three because of the hyperperception and four. So that is ten. Okay. And I'm going to subtract because of the messy crime scene. In the disorganized state of it, I'm going to subtract two dice. And the storm continues. Holy crap. One success. Eight dice and one success. Yes. One success. You review the crime scene as much as I hate to downplay successes. Chu had done so many successes in a row that he had over five or eight successes. So nothing that he overlooked. He didn't miss a bee wing over. Right. Okay. The next step I'm going to do, and I'll let someone else go. Sure. But I'm getting gloves from the doctor and I'm searching over Billy for any kind of marks of, and I'm looking specifically for bee stings like in the shape of a hand or some other. Right. I'm not stripping this guy down because certain parts I'm not going to check regardless of. Right. The doctor's kid is actually right next to the door. He just grabbed some gloves yourself as Lucius continues the phone call outside on the patio. Go ahead, Jim/sistercake. How do we talk about the dog's throat being slashed? Correct. Did we discuss whether or not it looked like it was a knife slash or a claw slash or is there anybody here who would be the best person if he didn't discuss that to try to figure that out? I want to know if John had blades, John being my head blades that came out of a sharp surgical knife. Yeah. Snick. They were fashioned from were wolf claws, but they were more blade like. They were intentionally sharpened and honed as opposed to. Yes. They were claws that were intentionally sharpened. So that would probably be more cutting than ripping. Looking at the wound, would I be able to determine that? You would have to make a width plus investigation real, sir. But without having John Beamer's hand, that's going to make it more difficult. I mean, I've only seen it. Well, yeah. But you've got like cutting as opposed to slashing or ripping. We saw what John can do to that. I think natural claws are more out of sharp. If I can jump in here before you spend any more power or doing that, we have the remains of John Beamer's hand here. Not the clawed hand. There is a hand. But there is a hand. So with one of the powers, my subtle knife, I can use that directly to get a glimpse of how the murder or how it happened, what happened. I can evoke that power. That carmancy. It sounds important. Did you hear that, sister? Yeah, I did. It is not in the dark arts. It is certainly done. It is certainly done. No, no, no, no. How come he isn't being expelled from the house? Well, I guess I'm out of a job. The knife gives me a power called glimpse that I have to spend willpower to do. All right. Which I have just enough to do. I can delve into the past by limiting my search. For example, via a particular time frame, what happened here a few months, two days ago. Hama. By person or object, show me what happened or what iron John did when he was here. Slash or by a particular event. Show me. I want to see how far it started. So, the fact that I have the body part, I can touch the knife to it and get a glimpse. Only a visual. If I get success, I can see how did this happen. Well, I'll see the whole scene of what happened in the work. Well, I guess I hear a lot of your success. The user chooses a single sense with which she will view the scene. Sight, sound, taste, touch, or smell. Each success is equal to a number of years. This period of time represents how far by the period of glimpse. Well, since we're only talking a matter of hours, I don't think I have to glimpse too far. I want to see what happened because it's going to hopefully that will give us a success. Exceptial success, these are going to choose two senses to view the scene. If I choose like, you know, smell, I can smell what happened, but I don't want to do that. No. Sight sounds like what you probably want to say. Sight and hearing. Right. It fails. Dramatic failure, I get hurt for a while. It doesn't give you false information. Failure to just be no glimpse of passive events is available. All right. And early on, you described three different things that you could do. It was like glimpse in events, glimpse. Did you go through that again? Really? Yes. A character can delve into the past by limiting research via a particular time frame. What happened here three months and two days ago? Right. By person or object, show me what Iron John did when he was here or by a particular event. I want to see how the fire started. It doesn't look like you need the hand at all. You can go into the bathroom. That's true. That's not necromancy. You go in the room and just put your hand on the wall and say, "I want to see what happened in this room." I will use the knife to cut through the veil of time and look back for just a few short hours and see what happened. Sounds promising. At least if that fails, then let's go to the other because I think we, I don't want to start using everyone's powers if I can at least get a visual on what's happening. And we should have to the world. If you tell me, "No killing the world." Sorry, what the hell? No killing the world. No, I think we need to kill the world. Because every time we do anything that's going to really reveal what's going on, the bad guy seemed to know it and he hit us. I'm being no longer alive. When we restrained Billy, which I'm not confident in any normal ropes, or to be able to restrain him if he decides to get crazy, did he inject him or use some type of sedative on him? He used a sedative out in the street. So he has been medicated? He's been medicated. Once a couple hours. Once? Probably about 45 minutes to an hour ago with this one. You don't happen to have any type of narcotic substances that we could really floor this guy with. Oh, you look at what I mean. You're the brotherhood of the Phoenix. We have the doctor's bag here. I say, when we're ready, we pump them full of adrenaline to wake them up. No, no, no, no, with a needle next to us to put them back if we have. Pump or we're full of adrenaline. That doesn't sound promising at all. He's not aware of what he's doing right now. Yeah, it seems like he's waking up on his own, so I don't know how much time we have before. Do what you need to do. Alright, let me tell you this works real fast. We need to move the cars. They're not sitting out in the middle of the street with driver. Alright, now I have to spend my remaining two-wheel power just to activate this power, so I don't have any extra-wheel power to use right for- Could you arrest your last one? No. Oh, I got this knife! I mean, I'm trying to- It's a butter knife! Oh, is that what you're calling a butter knife? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Now you're catching up! Good boy! It's like you're just jealous. You bet you share the knife. I don't have to rely on CUBy Dowl's butter knives. And set the guy who injects drugs into his eyeballs. That's me, baby. That's all me. Usually success can go back a full year, so going back a couple hours, I mean, come on. Everything's fresh and, you know, all the psychic impressions. With the way you roll at a dime. Yeah! There you go. Hey, please. I'll take it. Alright, six dice. Holy cow, man. It needed, did you? Six. Six successes. Oh, the images? Six! The images are so powerful, and... He actually gets changed. We often see him. Yeah. So that's an example. The impression of the death kills him. Michael drives as well. So, before you even describe anything, it's said in the thing here. We get to watch a re-enactment as he's ripped apart. He's like, "Oh, that's what happened." Oh, no. As we see that now, Michael, thank you. An exceptional six seconds are... These can choose two senses with which he will view the scene. So, audio and visual, please. Fair enough. Sorry to not touch. That would be bad. Yeah, really. Okay. I want the sense of pain. Can I have that? Mike and I will step away again. Great clue I describe to him what happened, and then we'll... Come back. Thanks for listening to the Knights of the Night at Actual Play Podcast.
