5 Sports Update One day after the men took home the gold medal in basketball at the Paris Olympics, the United States women did the same on Sunday beating France, 67-66 to win gold. Asia Wilson led the way for the U.S., finishing with a game high, 21.13 rebounds, and four blocks Kalya Copper and Kelsey Plump also contributed 12 points apiece. Gabrielle Williams had a team high 19 for France and hit what would have been a game-tying three-pointer to force overtime at the buzzer, but her foot was on the three-point line. This win gave the Americans their eighth consecutive gold medal in women's basketball in Olympic record. As for the Paris Olympics as a whole, the United States and China finish tied for the most gold medals in the summer games with 40 apiece. Moreover, the USA finished with an Olympic best 126 combined medals, 42 silver 44 bronze. Regarding USA being behind in the gold medal count, entering Sunday, the women's basketball coach Sheryl Reeve said, "I saw the medal count beforehand so I knew that's what we need, more pressure." The 2028 Summer Olympics will be in Los Angeles, California. Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marquise Hollywood Brown suffered a dislocated clavicle and the team's Saturday night pre-season game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Speaking about Brown's injury, head coach Andy Reeve said, "I think he'll miss some time. But we'll just see where he's at. He's kind of going through it right now and we'll know more later on." Brown signed a one-year, seven-million-dollar deal with the Chiefs in March, last season he totaled 51 receptions for 574 yards and four touchdowns in 14 games. Brown spent the first three seasons of his NFL career with Baltimore Ravens from 2019 to 2021 before being traded to the Arizona Cardinals in 2022 where he spent the previous two seasons.
