For 35 years, 2020 Seed Lamps has been a leader in seed testing and research. This is Rural Roots Canada and I'm Craig Lester amplifying Canadian agriculture. The company has grown from a small business into a fully accredited and internationally recognized seed testing laboratory with facilities in Alberta, Manitoba and Chile. The company was founded in 1989 by Sarah Foster following agriculture Canada's decision to privatize its seed testing program. Foster sees the opportunity to fill a gap in the market. And at that time I was working for the United Grain Growers and it was primarily an in-house lab and I wanted to do more work for growers and farmers and seed companies and of course that wasn't part of their mandate. So I thought, you know, things are changing so quickly and it's such a great opportunity to try it on my own. So I stepped out probably one of the most frightening things I've ever done. Foster says they have always really prided themselves on being there for their customers. And going into this new season I want to be the wow of seed testing this year and, you know, really drive it home that we are there or our customers with the answers that they need and if there's a problem we'll solve it. And that's one of the nice things about us. We have everything under one roof. If we can't get an answer under our roof, we're going to go and sort to the experts that can. Marketing Manager Shannon Salinski says their customers appreciate their hands on approach. Then I've had the opportunity this summer in spring to talk to a number of our clients one-to-one on the phone and in person that shows and that's the thing that they love most about 2020 is that they can pick up the phone. There's no gatekeeping. There's no barriers. And we really pride ourselves on being there for our customers. And if we don't have an answer to a question, we're going to dig in and find the answer.
