Horror Queers

Hocus Pocus (1993) feat. Laura Di Girolamo

'Tis time, sistahs! For our Halloween episode, we're riding our vacuums to Salem to hang out with the Sanderson Sisters. Along for the ride is Laura Di Girolamo, co-director of The Bloody Mary Film Festival and self-proclaimed Hocus Pocus obsessive (how many times has she seen this?!) We're running amok, amok, amok praising Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy and never-more-beautiful Sarah Jessica Parker, while throwing shade at Thackery Binx's work ethic and Omri Katz's atrocious Final Boy, Max. Plus: Joe's theory about virginity (courtesy of Aaron Wallace's Hocus Pocus in Focus), Kenny Ortega's history as a queer activist, the functionality of hair curlers and Trace's argument that the film is legitimate gateway horror (child death!)
