When we confess in the name of the Lord, we are upholding the integrity of God. And when we fail to trust in God, we are making an accusation against the integrity of God implying that we cannot trust God. Knowing God is knowing his perfect and infinite character. When we know our God, time does not become an issue as we wait for God to be true to his promises.
If God goes back on his promises when it comes to our so great salvation, that whoever believes in him shall have eternal life, we stand to lose, but the greater loss will be that of God having been made unreliable and untrustworthy.
