Recovering the Lost Anointing
I stand my soul, Lord, to You surrendered all I am. I stand tonight, I'm gonna stand, I'm gonna stand, and I'll stand with arms high and heart abandoned in awe of the one who came in awe, and I'll stand my soul, Lord, to You surrendered all I am. I'll stand, I'll stand, I'll stand with arms high and heart abandoned. In awe of the one who came in awe, and I'll stand my soul, Lord, to You surrendered all I am. I want to talk about something this morning, recovering the loss of nointing. Come on, somebody. I dare someone open you mouth and say, "I'm gonna get it back, I'm gonna get it back." Let's pray. Father God, in the name of Jesus, as we about to jump into the Word of God, we pray that You administer to Your people, let them hear the voice of the good shepherd coming through the vessel of clay God. Minister to Your people, let the Word of God come forth with power and authority, with revelation, knowledge, with insight, let it bring faith into the hearts of Your people. As the Word goes forth, let people receive their breakthroughs, their miracles, their deliverances, answers to their predirection for their lives. In the name of Jesus Christ, somebody say, "Amen." I dare someone say, "We are gonna recover a loss of nointing." Sometimes in our walk with God, we experience losses. Who know what I'm talking about? I said, "We experience losses." We go through heartache, we go through pain, we go through trials, we go through tribulations, and there are some things that happen to us that we weren't expecting and it sets us back. Come on, who know what I'm talking about? Have you ever suffered a setback? Don't leave me here by myself now. Come on, come on. I said, "Have you ever suffered a setback? Have you ever looked over your life and made this statement?" Boy, I thought I would have been further ahead, but now I thought I would have had much more accomplice than I've accomplished. So who am I talking to in here? Well, I got good news for you. The Bible says, "He will restore unto you the years that the caterpillar and the canker room have stolen from you." David said, "He restores my soul." Come on, somebody. My, my, my, my, my, my. This brings us now to Second Kings chapter 6, beginning at verse 1, "And the sons of the prophets said unto Elisha, 'Behold now the place where we dwell,' Whitney is too straight for us." In other words, we have outgrown this place. The word straight there literally means small, too tight. Somebody, I'm talking to somebody, I'm talking to a fish in this church who have outgrown that tank. Who know what I'm talking about? I heard about this certain type of fish, as long as you keep him in a small fish tank, he'll only stay about one to two inches. If you put him in a bigger tank, he'll grow up to about 12. Come on, somebody. He'll grow up to about 12 inches. If you throw him in a lake, then he'll grow up to be five feet long. Come on, somebody. Even the fish recognize, there is a time I got to break out of this tank. Come on, yeah. I'm talking to somebody in here. Can someone open your mouth and say, "I got to break out of where?" I got to go higher. I got to go deeper. Come on, somebody. I ain't satisfied with where I am. I'm not satisfied with what I've accomplished up to this point. They said, "Elisha, where we are, it's too small for us. Who am I talking to in this place?" Would you look at someone and say, "I'm going to another level, which you owe without you." Come on, somebody. I can't stay on this same level that I'm on, because when you're on a certain level, you can only accomplish so much. The sons of the prophets, they said, "Elisha, this place is too small for us." We got to get out of here. We got to get out of here. Look at what the Bible says in verse 2. They said, "Let us go." We pray thee under Jordan. You got to shift. You got to make a move and take thence every man, a beam. Let us make a place there where we may dwell, and Elisha answered and said, "Go." So Elisha, now, he's the man of God. He's the authority. He said, "Go." And what I like with these sons of the prophets, they submissive. They ain't just doing it without proper authority. They operate according to biblical principles. They said to their leader, "This place is too tight, which tells me those disciples and Elisha, they had a solid relationship." I don't know much pastors nowadays that's willing to listen to disciples. But they had a real relationship with Elisha, and Elisha trusts the work of the Holy Ghost in their life. Come on, somebody. You may be a pastor, but you got to listen to some sheep because they know the voice of God too. God ain't going to tell you everything is the pastor. Come on, somebody. That's why God plays other leaders around you. You can't see every angle. Only God knows it all. Are you listening to me? So you got to be open to disciples that you know are trustworthy and have proven themselves to be true disciples of the most high. Are you listening to me? And Elisha, we're talking about Elisha the great willing to listen to his disciples. Man, this is huge. We can preach the whole year right from this. They said, "Elisha, this place is too tight." And Elisha said, "Okay. What do you want us to do?" They said, "We got to go over the Jordan, and we got to build something bigger." So they take every man and be him and let us make us a place there where we may dwell in the answer. He said, "Go." But these guys are smart. They're smart. They said, "We ain't going without you, Elisha. We know how this devil likes to show up and test us when you ain't around." And one said, "Be content, I pray, thee, and go with thy servants, and he answered, I will go." Elisha was just testing them, but they're passing every test. Come on. I dare someone say, "I'm going to pass every test. Come on. I'm going to pass every test." So he went with them, and when they came, when they came to the Jordan, they began to chop down the wood. Come on, somebody. So these men, they began to cut down the wood. Come on, somebody. I dare someone to start swinging, say, "We're making progress, freight with our works as dead." That's why I pass this in James' in the house this morning, because freight without works is dead. But then something happened. Look at someone and say something happened. So they chopping down the wood, they're making good progress, they're making good progress. But look at what the next verse says. But as one was felling a beam, as he was chopping it down, "The Oxhead, Lord of Mercy." So as he was cutting the wood, the Oxhead fell off, went into the water. Water too deep to swim in, didn't have goggles, so he couldn't find it. "Oh Lord of Mercy, are you still here?" The Oxhead gone. As soon as the Oxhead came off, that progress came to a halt. Come on, somebody. I'm talking to somebody. Somebody's progress came to a halt. Now, if they were in this generation, if they were in this generation, with these phony faith talkers, this is how some people are in church. The Oxhead gone and they there, making a whole lot of noise. You could hear a lot of making a whole lot of noise, but he ain't making no more progress because the Oxhead is gone. I know some pastors who are in churches, you know Oxhead there brother. It's just a whole lot of noise, but he ain't making no progress. I'm talking to somebody up in here. I don't know about santa, they make it a whole lot of noise. They got a good soul going, but they ain't no anointing, they ain't no Oxhead. It takes the anointing of the Holy Ghost to heal the sick, it takes the anointing of the Holy Ghost to open the eyes of the blind, it takes the anointing of the Holy Ghost to set the demon, possess free, I guess somebody to say we need the Oxhead back into the church. We need the Oxhead, we need the Oxhead, a lot of pastors making noise, but no anointing. I'm preaching to somebody, I guess somebody to say I'm tired of playing church. I want my Oxhead, somebody shout, give me the Oxhead, give me the Oxhead, give me the Oxhead, I want the Oxhead, I need something that can cut through its craft, I need something that can help me sound me to make me strain, I need something that can cut through this demonic force that can cut through all bare, that can cut through its craft, that can cut through gossip, that can cut through unforgiveness, that can cut through adultery, that can cut through fornication, I guess somebody to say I'm going after the loss anointing, I need it back in my life, creating me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me, cast me not away from your presence, oh God, sound yes, sound yes, sound yes.
