(upbeat music) - Good morning, it's a Monday, man. Somehow or another new found kale and company line right here on WKXL, nhstockradio.com and we are glad that you did. Thanks for being with us on this Monday. Hope you had a wonderful weekend. We are presented by Northeast Delta Dental and behind the glass are executive producer Andrew Gibson held the record this weekend for spending the most hours at the 50th annual market day celebration in downtown Concord. Andrew spent more hours there than anybody else on the planet and he survived. Andrew, good morning. - Good morning and I didn't even get sunburned because we had an awesome tent so that worked out. - We did, we had an awesome tent and you and Ray and Kat and the crew assembled the tent Thursday morning very early and then took it down Saturday after the event wound up in downtown Concord and what's that? - And our setup would not have been able to go as smoothly as possible on the first day without the help of Mr. Tom Lot, a volunteer who helped us out. - Well, thank you, Tom. Thank you, we appreciate that. And I think everything, despite the rain from time to time, I don't think it really put a damper on the celebration. I think everybody that showed up had a great time and saw some great music, listened to some great music all weekend long at the event. - The Queen tribute band was fantastic. - Wow, I did not have a chance to see that. - I caught, I caught like the tail end of one of their sets later in the day, but it was very good. - Well, I know that, but how was the crowd for that? Because that was Friday, right? - It was packed. I mean, they were in their shoulder to shoulder. I mean, whether regardless of whether, like they were just happy to be there. - Yeah, oh yeah. Everybody, well not everybody, but most people love to hear a Queen and I'm sure they did a terrific job. I did not happen to hear that because I was embossing at that time for a ring silk concert at Fenway Park featuring Houdi and the Blowfish and Bear Naked Ladies, but it was a great time anyway, but the market day's 50th annual in the books and WKXL made its presence felt downtown. And thank you to so many people who stopped by to say hello, that they've listened to the station for saying they've listened to the station for a long time and it was great to meet a lot of WKXL listeners and hopefully Andrew, we made some new acquaintances and they will be tuning in, maybe even right now. - I think so. - And it was great to see everybody and had a chance to chat on Saturday when I was there with Scott, great sports fan from Concord. We were talking about the Celtic success of this year where both Scott and I, both a couple of maybe chromogens, you might say, where we're not huge fans of the three-point line at least to the extent that it's used today in the NBA, Scott even threw into these in the suggestion box that someday there could be a four-point line in the NBA. Well, I would certainly not wanna see that, but we had a good chat about his days in Chicago and had a chance to meet with some very interesting people over the course of the last three days. Andrew was there every second of every minute of market days and Ray Dudley was down there for many, many hours as well when Kat and Jane and WKXL was very well represented all week and long. So hats off to everyone who played a part in market days, the 50th anniversary, 51 will be coming up and you know, it might have some new stuff going on at the WKXL booth. - I definitely wanna come check us out next year. - Next year, circle those dates. I'm not sure what they are, but they're pretty much the same week it took place over the weekend in late June. So looking forward to that. And it was great. Apple had a lot of fun. Despite the fact that there was rain, I think there was rain parts of every day, but it didn't dampen the spirits and did you have anything? What was your favorite delicacy there? - Ooh, that's a tough one. I will say that the freshly popped kettle corn and caramel corn was wonderful. - Oh yeah, it was. - Our special thanks to our booth neighbors, the roadside diner. They actually helped us out with keeping our music going during the weekend. And they also made a mean steak and cheese sandwich and cheesy tater tots. - Oh boy, wow. - That were delightful. - Very nice. I did not have a chance to sample their delicacies, but I tried that ice cream in a donut as they called it. Ray Dudley was threatening to get one all weekend, but I don't know if Ray ever did or not, but I had one and it was okay. I mean, it's a novel concept. They had donuts. They were making the donuts at market days. They weren't donuts in the traditional sense, but they were kind of like a cone donut to put the ice cream in. - Yeah, they basically, yeah, they made the cone out of essentially a pastry. And I use sampled that if I'm not mistaken. - I did, I did. And it was good, it was good. I don't know if I would have another one, but it was a novel concept. And I gave it a shot and it was tasty. But the cone, the only problem was the cone got very hard, very soon, and it was kind of tough to eat the cone. - They could warm it up first or something. - Yeah, yeah, but it was worth the effort to try it. And probably I would sample something else next year, but as you said, the kettle core was great, the fries, you name it. You name it, it was a wonderful time. And I think everyone who attended would say the same thing because people put a lot of effort into staging that event every year. They've been doing it now for 50 years and the hats off to all the musicians who made the event so special and all the people behind the scenes putting it together for another very successful 50th anniversary of Market Day's number 51 on the way. - And speaking of musicians, we have one on the line right now. - Oh, we have John Leahy with us. John, good morning to you. - And good morning. - I'll tell you what, John, we spent the weekend, the WKXL crew, some more than others. At Market Days in downtown Concord, I think our executive producer, Andrew Gibson, was there every minute of every hour during Market Days this weekend. And saw some wonderful people, I was there parts of the three days. Certainly not as long as Andrew and Ray and Cat, but saw some great folks, some great WKXL listeners. And we're gonna do some different things next year in the WKXL booth. That's the rumor anyway, John. So stand by for that information. But we're gonna be talking about a highly anticipated hockey game, which is coming up tonight, John. Are you looking forward to that one? - Yeah, this is one of the most compelling family cup finals I think we've ever had in our lifetime. You're talking about a team that was ahead free zero. Now it's free free and they're on the verge of either blowing it or winning it on home. It should be terrific. - It's kind of reminiscent of a lot was not in the finals last year, but of the Celtics coming back against Miami after they were down three nothing to tie it up. And then only lose in game seven at home, but we'll see what happens tonight. In sunrise, Florida, game seven, the Panthers hosting the Edmonton Oilers. After a slow start, Conor McDavid has caught fire. And I don't know, I haven't talked to too many people, but the ones I have are kind of rooting for the Edmonton Oilers, John. And don't say who you're rooting for tonight until we come back from break. We'll keep people in suspense. How about that? - That's my break. - All right, we will take a break. It is KLL and Company Live here on WKXL, NHTalkRadio.com. And again, thanks to all who stopped by. During market days, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, braving the elements as it were, but I don't think anybody was disappointed because the music continued, the food was flowing, and people were seeing old friends and reconnecting during market days, 2024, the 50th anniversary. Thanks again to In Town Concord for putting on such a great, great show all weekend long. We will take a break, KLL and Company continues here, WKXL, NHTalkRadio.com. We are powered by Northeast Delta Dental, and we will be right back. (upbeat music) (upbeat music) KLL and Company Live here on WKXL, NHTalkRadio.com, presented by Northeast Delta Dental, John Blahy, he is with us. A crew Renaissance man, author, musician. You name it, he does it all, he does it all, folks. And the sports caster par excellence, as they used to say. And John does it all, had a chance to get together with John last week, he came to Concord, and treated me to lunch boys and girls, how about that? Thank you, John. Pleasure, Ken, always my pleasure. Well, yeah, it was great to see you. And I understand, before we get into game seven tonight, I understand you have another book signing coming up. You agreed to one in New Hampshire in September. Yeah, that's right, Ken. It looks like this may be my only book signing in the granite state, but it's going to be on Saturday, September 14th. We're gonna be at the Barnes & Noble in Manchester, New Hampshire. And not only is it a book signing, Ken, but we are going to have a live internet radio broadcast who closed the tour. This will be the final stop on the summer book tour. And I'm very proud to say, Ken, that you'll be involved with me right by my side. Oh, well, I think we lost John momentarily. It looks like he disconnected, so we'll try to get him back. Just as he was getting to the climax. Oh my goodness, well, anyway, John will call back. Caitlyn company live here, WKXL, and congratulations to Christopher Bell, winning the USA Today 301 Sunday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, a race that started a little after two and because of rain delays and so on, it didn't end until a little after eight o'clock. So six hours yesterday. And John is back. Oh, okay, John is back. John, sorry, somehow you got cut off, but you're heading to the climax there about your live internet radio broadcast on in September at Barnes and Noble in Manchester. Yes, that's right, Ken. We're going to be there on September 14th. And it's going to be from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Barnes and Noble in Manchester. It will be the final stop on the summer book tour. And I'm delighted to have you along to help me with the radio broadcast on john-alleih.com. And I'm very excited to have the book signing in New Hampshire. Well, I'm looking forward to that and show up at Barnes and Noble, which is on South Willow Street, right across from the mall of New Hampshire. Yes, yes, and I met with them last week and we had a wonderful conversation and they couldn't have been any nicer. So it's a terrific, terrific store. I'm hoping to get one more signing in New Hampshire before all is said and done. I only have one more weekend to fill in on my summer calendar. So, wow, you're a busy guy, John. Yeah, pretty much every Saturday we have a book signing. And I know I have one on a Sunday up in Maine in mid to late July, but we're filling out the calendar quickly, Ken. So the book tour has been a rousing success, and I'm looking forward to continuing it. All right, well, I know you'll keep us posted right here on WKXL and also John will be back on the Bank of New Hampshire stage in early August as well. So we're looking forward to that too. Now, hockey tonight in sunrise, Florida, game seven. Florida Panthers, Edmonton Oilers, John, it's the 18th game seven in Stanley Cup Final History and the first, and I hate to bring this one up, but the first, since the Blues beat the Bruins in 2019. But is there anything better than game seven of the Stanley Cup Final? You know, this one has a lot of sub-blocks to it. As I alluded to earlier, Florida jumped out to a clean up and lead as we all know, and Edmonton has rallied with three consecutive wins. So the question is, you know, does Edmonton pull off the complete comeback or the Florida regroup at home? And I should mention, Ken, that it has only happened one time in the entire history of the National Hockey League that a team has taken at three games to non-lead and then blown it. And that was the Detroit Red Wings back in 1942 as they led Toronto three games, so none of the Maple Leafs came back to win four games to three. So we could be seeing history, Ken, for the first time in 82 years, we could be a team below a three-nothing lead. - I was not around for that one, John, in 1942. Close, but it was not. And also another factoid, row teams have won three straight game sevens in the Stanley Cup final. - Yeah, that bodes well for the Edmonton Oilers, doesn't it? But I'll tell you, you mentioned Conor McDavid earlier. The orders need him and he is really on fire at the plate. And the question for Florida, I think, is Ken Sergei Babrovsky bounced back. He's had a rough patch here, including the game where the orders scored eight. So, you know, who is going to step up tonight? Who is going to be the hero? And I am pulling for the Edmonton Oilers, Ken, to win this whole thing. It would be great to have a family cup back in Canada, but the complete, an old three comeback would be just epic. - And of course, there has not been a Stanley Cup winner from Canada in 31 years. So that streak could come to an end tonight. - Well, that's right. The Montreal Canadiens were the last Canadian team to hoist the cup. They beat the Los Angeles Kings in 1993. Of course, the Kings had Wayne Gretzky on that team and Montreal won that one. So, the entire country of Canada, certainly excited for this game tonight. - They really are. I mean, I saw when the Red Sox were in Toronto last week I saw on TV a lot of Euler's jerseys in Toronto, where you wouldn't necessarily expect them to be, but you're right. The entire nation of Canada is behind the Edmonton Oilers because of that Stanley Cup drought in Canada. So, even Maple Leafs fans, I would assume they were Maple Leafs fans for the most part were wearing Edmonton shirts of some kind or another. So, the Euler's are playing in their third game seven in the Stanley Cup final. They defeated Philadelphia in 1987 and they lost to Carolina in 2006. So, they're one and one in previous game sevens, but none of that matters tonight when they face off. And you would have to thank John with 18 goals in their last three games. Against them that the Florida is beginning to doubt themselves a little bit. - Yeah, but that was done and this is now, right? You have to focus on the task at hand. Panthers will have the home ice advantage, which may or may not count for a whole lot, but you're right, can't Edmonton does have the momentum? And it's going to be interesting to see which team comes out strong from the get-go. I think it'll be orders to put a couple of goals that pass a broad scare early. The Panthers could be in trouble. But again, Florida has what it takes. And is this the year the Panthers will win the Stanley Cup. Tune in tonight on ABC. - Yep, exactly. And here's a great call of Sean McDonough on ABC. It'll be the last hockey game of the year, no matter what. And glad it's on ABC so we can find it easily. But it has been a great season, and I think most people I run into, John, most people I talk to are pulling for Edmonton in this one. I think part of it is the Canadian thing, the drought in Canada, and I think more of it around here is the hate people have for the Florida Panthers. - Yeah, absolutely. And it all stems back to last year's playoffs when the Bruins blew up three-nothing leads. Three-to-one lead, I should say, again, Florida. And that still is stuck in the craw of hockey fans up here. So, you know, I'm not surprising that Edmonton is getting a lot of love, and I'm really curious to see how it goes down tonight. - Yeah, and actually I was at the old Boston Garden, John, in 1990 when Edmonton clinched a Stanley Cup against the Bruins. So I saw them win that 1990 Stanley Cup at the old Boston Garden. - Wasn't that, yeah, didn't Peter Clema win one of those games with an overtime goal, Ken? - I believe so. I believe he did, and I think that was also the series in which there was a blackout one night at the old Boston Garden. - And it was also an issue with Bogg, one of those games too, remember? Oh, yeah, there was a stoppage, a dude's bed who stopped the game through the fog, and the players were skating around trying to dissipate the fog. - Right, exactly. Well, there was always something at the old garden. (laughing) - You can say that again, you can say that again. - Well, John, thanks so much, as always, for joining us here on a Monday morning. Always great to have you with us, and we will chat again. Hey, next Monday we can talk about what happened tonight. Hey, that's awesome, Ken, and before I go, I just want to mention, I do have one thing that is coming up that I think is pretty cool. I'm actually giving a live concert outside. It's an outside venue down here at Helper Cat, but that's gonna be a stream live on my internet radio station. That's gonna be on Sunday July stuff, so maybe we can talk about that in the future. - We will definitely talk about that next Monday, right here, because we will be in July next Monday. - How about that? - I'll stand the camera, I really look forward to the opportunity to talk with you. - Time flies when you're having fun. John Leahy, thanks so much, as always. - Ken, thank you, it's always a great privilege. - Talk to you next week, as the great John Leahy, author, crew renaissance man, broadcaster, musician. - He does it all. - He does it all, folks. - We'll take a break. Kaylin Company continues WKXL at nhchalkradio.com, presented by Northeast Delta Dental, we'll be right back. (upbeat music) Welcome back, Kaylin Company live here on WKXL for a month today. Wait to have you along with us. I will give you a little tease right now, and that is one week from today. We will be starting something new. (upbeat music) Where you could be a winner from WKXL nhchalkradio.com, and it involves a weed family automotive as well. I'll give you that much of a clue. We'll have more clues as the week goes on, but you could be a winner from WKXL and our good friends at Weed Family Automotive. Dan Weed is gonna be with us. Later on this week, and we will unveil officially at that time, what is going to take place here on WKXL, starting one week from today. All right, so looking back to 1980, John and I'm mentioning the fact that there has only been, the last, well, it's been 31 years between Stanley Cup wins for Canadian teams. So it's been a long, long time ago when the Montreal Canadiens defeated the Los Angeles Kings. But there was a time, and it's back over pretty much 40 years ago that Canadian teams dominated the Stanley Cup final. The New York Islanders won four straight Stanley Cups. Many people forget about that, but the Islanders won four straight Stanley Cups from 1980 through 1983. And then after that, in 1984, Edmonton won the Cup. They defeated the Islanders and snapped the Islanders four years Stanley Cup reign. That was 1984. Again, 1985, Edmonton a winner. That time over Philadelphia. Then in 1986, a Montreal, a five-game winner over Calgary. But Edmonton was back at it the next year. In fact, the next two years. Edmonton won four cups in five years with a great one, Wayne Gretzky, being coached by Glenn Sather. And they beat the Philadelphia Flyers in 1987. They beat the Bruins in a sweep in 1988. And then in 1989, Calgary defeated Montreal in the finals. And in 1990, the game I referenced are the series I referenced with John. Edmonton beat the Bruins in five games. So there was a time, folks. When Canadian teams dominated the Stanley Cup from, let's see, 1984, through 1990, there were only Canadian winners. But things have changed. Things have changed. And I think part of the reason, not the whole reason, but part of the reason is that it's the tax situation. Because if you sign with the Canadian team, let's say a big free agent contract, you're going to have more taxes taken out as a result of, you know, you're playing for a Canadian team. And they are taxed quite heavily. Even more so than players are in the United States. That's why a lot of free agents gravitate toward Florida because there's no state income tax, Texas, because there's no state income tax. But the taxes in Canada are, you know, I won't say debilitating, but they take more taxes out in Canada. And athletes, you don't see very many athletes in any sport, sign free agent contracts in Canada. So Canada, unless you're a loyal Canadian and want to stay with your team in Canada, now I'm not sure what the status of Conor McDavid's contract is with Edmonton, but I do believe that he will be staying there for the duration, we can check that out. But you don't see too many free agents move from teams that are based on the United States to teams that are based in Canada because of the tax situation. I don't know all of the ramifications if you're a US citizen or Canadian citizen who gets hurt the most tax-wise, you're still making great money, but you could make more if you were playing in the United States as opposed to Canada. So I think that's one of the reasons that there hasn't been a Stanley Cup winner in Canada for 31 years because Canadian teams aren't able to sign the free agent players that could put your team over the top like many teams based in the United States do. So that's one of the theories. There are others perhaps too in the fact that there are many more teams based in the United States than in Canada. So percentage-wise, there's a better chance of a team from the US winning the Stanley Cup than a team from Canada. And the NBA only has one shot to win the NBA championship and that's in Toronto, same with Major League Baseball. But the Toronto Raptors of the NBA have won an NBA championship since any Canadian hockey team has won a Stanley Cup. So at any rate, you could debate it 'til as they say the cows come home, but we won't. How about the incident that took place yesterday in Cromwell, Connecticut? Six climate protesters stormed the 18th Green while the tournament leaders were lining up their putts for the final hole of regulation at the PGA Tour's Travelers' Championship delaying the finish for about five minutes. The protesters came from all directions around the Green and waved smoke bombs that left white and red residue on the putting surface before Scotty Scheffler, Tom Kim and Ashke Batia finished their rounds. Some of the protesters were wearing white T-shirts with the words, "No golf on a dead planet in black lettering on front, on the front of the shirts." Cromwell police said each protester was charged with first degree criminal mischief, first degree criminal trespass and breach of peace. They were released after posting $5,000 bond and scheduled to appear in court on the first of July. So there you go. Little incident yesterday in beautiful Cromwell, Connecticut, located right next to Middletown, Connecticut. If you know where Middletown, Connecticut is Cromwell is right there adjacent to it. And of course, as we alluded to earlier, the big race yesterday in Loudon, they moved up the time, it was originally 2.30, then they moved it to 2.06, they started very promptly at 2.06 yesterday and it did not end until after eight o'clock at night due to a big red flag situation. They stopped the race and in the third stage, the race was stopped with about 82 laps to go at that time and then they went to the wet tires. They went to the wet tires as they call them, rather than the slick tires that they use most of the time on a dry surface, but because the track was wet from the rain at Loudon yesterday, they went to the wet tires and it was the first time I believe in NASCAR history that they used the wet tires on a mile oval and it happened yesterday. They were going, you never see this at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, but they were going four and five wide on the Magic Mile yesterday and eventually Christopher Bell, who pretty much owns New Hampshire Motor Speedway right now, he won the race and boy, when he's interviewed, he takes off that helmet, he's out there battling for six hours, minus the rain delay. He's out there battling racing the best drivers in the world. When he gets interviewed, it looks like he's in high school. I mean, he's very articulate, don't get me wrong, but he has a very young look, I believe he's like 28 or 29, but it looks like he's about 15. I always say this, wow, look at him. Can't believe how young he looks. Congratulations to Christopher Bell for capturing the USA Today 301. A long time for people to be at the track yesterday, and I would say that might have been, what, maybe 1,000, 2,000 people in the stands when it was all set and done, but it was a lot of fun and the history made yesterday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Christopher Bell, winning that race, and the 25-pound lobster from Macros that goes with it. I'll take a break, Nail In Company continues right here, WKXL, N-H-ChockRadio.com, presented proudly by Northeast Delta Dental. We'll be right back. Welcome back, Kail in Company Live for a Monday, WKXL, N-H-ChockRadio.com. Tomorrow, we are going to have a very special in studio guests for the entire hour. Clayton Truder will be with us, and Clayton will be coming all the way from Vermont to be in studio with us live. Tomorrow, he's been on the show a couple of times, most recently, talking about his incredible book, which I'm going to have autograph tomorrow. It's called "Boston Ball." Now, Rick Petino, Jim Calhoun, Gary Williams, and the forgotten cradle of basketball coaches from Boston, or at least that coached in Boston before they went on to a greater fame, but it's a great book. He also wrote a book by the name of Loserville as well, before he wrote Boston Ball, but he's an author, a teacher, and lecturer, Clayton Truder, tomorrow, for the full hour right here on WKXL. Well, don't worry, country music fans. Willie Nelson has been feeling a little bit under the weather, but it sounds like the 91-year-old icon will be on the road again. Very soon, a statement on his official Instagram account reveal that due to an illness, Willie was canceling appearances on his Outlaw Fest tour, the show would go on, however, thanks to performances by his son Lucas Nelson, along with Bob Dylan, Robert Plant, and Alison Krause. Pretty good line up there, I would have to say. The statement reads, "We regret to inform you that Willie Nelson is not feeling well and per doctor's orders has been advised to rest for the next four days. He is expected to make a quick recovery and join the Outlaw Music Festival tour next week." So, well, there you go. The announcement does not explain exactly when Willie will return to the stage, but the tour continues through the summer and into September with stops across the country, and that tour is scheduled to make a stop at the Bank of New Hampshire stage, what am I thinking of, in Meadowbrook? Yeah, Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion is what they call it there. Bank of New Hampshire stage is in downtown Concord. The Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion on Friday, September the 20th in Guilford, along with Bob Dylan, Bob Dylan, and John Mellon Camp. I guess he's just going by John Mellon Camp these days. They think he took the Cougar out of there, and a number of other performers as well. So, that's scheduled for September 20th, the tour with Willie Nelson, if he's healthy, along with Bob Dylan, John Mellon Camp, and many more. So, that is still on. It has not been canceled. By the way, Monday, June the 24th, celebrating birthdays today. Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood, Mac, is 77. Arthur Brown of the crazy world of Arthur Brown fame is 82, as is actress Michelle Lee. She is also 82 this Monday, the 24th of June. Today is swim a lap day. Please take my children to work day, and we are also commemorating today. Monday, June 24th, it is World UF-O Day, and the old Schnauzoller Jimmy Duranty is here to commemorate it. Jimmy, take it away. If you want to get a thrill, if you want to see the sights, jump right in, I got an online, identified by an object, yeah. Let's go for a spin, we're going UN4, we're trying to solve supply, we're tired across the sky, nobody will believe their eyes. Just when they think they've seen us, we zoom away to be there. One moment, we're in Mexico, like that we're over Idaho. Just tell me where you want to go in my UF-O, we're going UN4, we're trying to solve supply, we'll fly across the sky, nobody will believe their eyes. Just when they think they've seen us, we zoom away to be there. One moment, we're in Mexico, like that we're over Idaho. Just tell me where you want to go in my UF-O. We're going UN4, we're trying to solve supply, we'll fly across the sky, nobody will believe their eyes. Just when they think they've seen us, we zoom away to be there. One moment, we're in Mexico, like that we're over Idaho. Just tell me where you want to go in my UF-O. We're going UN4, we're trying to solve supply, we'll fly across the sky, nobody will believe their eyes. Just when they think they've seen us, we zoom away to be there. One moment, we're in Mexico, like that we're over Idaho. Just tell me where you want to go in my UF-O. - Big finish there for Jimmy Duranty, we're going UF-O-N. I'll tell you what, our executive producer, Andrew Gibson, you know what, I bet you will not hear that song on too many radio stations today. - That would be unlikely, yes. - Maybe for any number of reasons. - But it's a bop. - Isn't it great? I think it's a great song, I often find myself, I don't know if we get this came out in the 60s sometime, but I heard it a few times on the radio when it first came out and it pops into my head. Every so often, when I hear about UF-O, I always think about Jimmy Duranty and we're going UF-O-N and why not? Because today is World UF-O Day, June the 24th. So I believe we're in UF-O, is Andrew? - That's, I feel like that's kind of a loaded question. There's been a lot of unexplained things in the sky for many, many years, so without definitive proof, it's hard to say what they are. Very true, very true. And the mystery continues. Although, you know, the Congress has been looking into it a little bit, maybe they'll release their findings in the not too distant future. By the way, in the news today, New Hampshire sawmill that has been in business for nearly a century was destroyed by fire early this morning. Fire broke out at the Colby sawmill, that's on the High Street in Bosco and at around four o'clock this morning. The owners told WM you are, they were planning to retire on Thursday. How 'bout that? They said about 10 people worked at the mill which had been in business for 99 years. And the ironic part is they were supposed to retire on Thursday. No one fortunately was hurt in the fire. Officials said the cause has not been determined, but it is possible that the fire was sparked by lightning. So that was today. Many of you know where that is the Colby sawmill on the High Street in Bosco and went up in flames today and after nearly a century destroyed by the fire. But we're certainly glad to hear that no one was hurt. Hey, the Red Sox, they remain red hot. What a road trip they had five out of six in Toronto and Cincinnati. And right now folks, if the season, this is hard to believe that if the season ended today, your Boston Red Sox would be in the playoffs. They are in a wild card spot right now. And I don't think anyone, a lot of the cynical people out there thought the Red Sox would be a terrible team this year. They've turned out to be a lot of fun to watch. Very athletic, they steal a lot of bases, pitching's been good, they get the occasional home run and it's been a lot of fun to watch. And they've opened a series tonight with the Toronto Blue Jays at Fenway Park in Boston. The ACE Tanner house will be on the mound for the Red Sox. Mr. Katz, off tonight, they will be in Hartford for a series starting tomorrow night. And that pretty much brings you up to date. And again, thanks to all who stopped by our booth at Market Days over the weekend. Thank you very much for listening and join us tomorrow. Clayton Truder will be in studio. Fascinating guy has offered a number of books and we'll have him in studio for the entire hour tomorrow. Tomorrow morning starting at eight o'clock or a little after eight o'clock. Gail and company live presented by Northeast Delta Dental reminding you to always look on the bright side of life. Have a great Monday, everybody.
