This Pro Trans Ad Is Dangerous

The government of the Australian state of Victoria put out an ad aimed at promoting trans acceptance. Unfortunately, it’s essentially telling women to prioritize the feelings of trans people over even their own physical safety. Let’s talk about it.

We've reacted to a ton of propaganda when it comes to the trans issue on this channel, but it reaches a whole new level when that propaganda comes from your government and is sponsored by them. And today we are reacting to a crazy video out of Australia from the Victorian government that is telling you what you should think and how you should feel about the trans issue. Let's talk about it. Guys, before we get into today's video, please like and subscribe. I'm here talking about this issue with a very rough voice because your girl's been sick, but it'll make it better if you hit that like button. Don't you love a good guilt trip? Guys, let's get into today's video. I caught this video, at least a clip of it that was circulating on Twitter and going viral. And first we're going to watch the clip, then we'll get into the larger ad. And again, this is sponsored by the Victorian government in Australia. For those of you that don't know, Victoria is a state in Australia. I believe it's in the Southeast and the capital is Melbourne. And they've been doing work, I guess, to make people more accepting of trans and gender diverse individuals with a campaign called the unsaid says a lot. Now here's the initial clip, the one viral. So we watch a conservatively dressed woman get out of the elevator when a trans person enters and on the screen it reads trans and gender diverse people deserve to feel safe. And then they plug their website, which takes you to the campaign that is sponsored by the Victorian government, which we'll get to in just a moment. What's really interesting about this ad is what it insinuates. It insinuates that if you are a woman, and yes, I'm going to use the word woman and not cis woman to refer to the actual woman in this ad. Now, if you are a woman who feels uncomfortable in a closed and confined space with somebody, you should just sit in that discomfort instead of leaving. That is insane to me. What's even crazier is that the ad insinuates that the woman leaving the elevator makes the trans person unsafe, crazy. And let's use a little bit of logic here. If you are a trans or gender diverse person, as they say in this campaign, who has entered an elevator with somebody who is a trans phobe or a turf, a trans exclusionary radical feminist, wouldn't you want them to leave the elevator? Wouldn't that, in fact, make you safer in the situation that you don't have to share this small space with somebody who disagrees with your identity? Please make that make sense. We, as people, but women in particular, should reserve the right to remove ourselves from situations where we feel discomfort or where we feel a lack of safety. And that's clearly what this woman felt in this situation when she decided to leave the elevator. We all have instincts, survival instincts at that. And we make judgments about people, all people, actually very quickly. And if you decide to make a judgment that says, you know what? Maybe I need to take myself and remove myself from the situation. That is your right. It doesn't matter who it is that's entering the elevator. So to make women in particular feel bad for that choice is absolutely insane to me. I want to do a little thought experiment here and see how you would react to a new ad, an ad that I'll create for you right now. In this ad, we have the same exact woman who was in the elevator in the first clip we watched. And a big six foot four man walks into the elevator. He stands right next to her. She clearly looks uncomfortable and gives him a strange look. And she decides to throw her hand out and step out of the elevator. Would we be viewing that same scenario as an act of prejudice against men or misandry against them? Probably not. Because we, as women, acknowledge that men have a significant biological advantage over us, and that we should probably err on the side of safety and caution when it comes to being in a confined space with them. Was that man dangerous? Was he going to create a violent or uncomfortable situation for that woman? We don't know. But she still has the right to exit the elevator. It's funny to me that once that man puts on makeup and address, it suddenly becomes an act of discrimination to walk out of the elevator. And I'll leave you all with that to think about. More importantly, I'll leave the Victorian government with that to think about. Now, as I said, the end of this ad plugs a website and the website takes you to a campaign titled the unsaid says a lot where they have a full length ad. And we're going to react to the full length ad because they add some more scenarios in there and tell you what you should do in these scenarios. This says three and four trans and gender diverse people have been treated unfairly because of their gender identity. Question. How exactly do we get a stat like that and what signifies being treated unfairly? How exactly does one make a judgment on that or determine that three and four trans and gender diverse people have experienced unfair treatment? I'll leave that with you all. Okay, the words on the screen say no way I'm sharing a lift with you. You make me feel uncomfortable. Don't look at me. Of course, the seat is all yours. You're safe. There is nothing to worry about. Welcome to the neighborhood. I'll give you a hand. You'll fit right in. Now, I do have a question given that we were given that stat at the beginning of this ad that says three and four trans and gender diverse people are treated unfairly. Had the guy not given up his seat? Would that have counted towards the stat of being treated unfairly? Had the neighbor not helped him pick up the box? Would that be towards the stat of being treated unfairly? Because these, in my opinion, would be pretty benign situations. Oftentimes things like this happen where you drop something and somebody doesn't help you or you get on a bus or a subway and somebody doesn't give up their seat. Are those acts of discrimination? If you happen to be trans and gender diverse at the same time as those things happening? Just curious. Says what happened to you? You're not a part of this family anymore. You're ruining this party. I guess just for existing. Uh oh, sports team. Says we're all in this together. We're glad you're on the team. You belong with us. So a man who is transitioning post puberty who has a biological advantage over those women with bone density, wingspan, lung capacity, hand size, feet size, all these different things should be welcome on a women's team to destroy them essentially because they are trans and gender diverse. Guys, make that make sense. And what this ad is telling you and again from a government, what the government is telling you is that if you are a woman who is uncomfortable in this situation or a family member who is going through the throes of having another family member come out or somebody who doesn't want to give up their seat on a bus or doesn't want to help a neighbor pick up a box, you are actively committing an act of discrimination against a trans and gender diverse person. This is crazy to me. This is a government telling you what to think, telling you how to feel and really not acknowledging what are distinct biological realities that we have all been aware of for quite some time or at least up until recently. They're telling young girls that if a biological man wants to play on your sports team who we know has an advantage over you, you should just allow it to happen because the unsaid discrimination in holding that person off from the team is worse than you as a woman having to have a man enter your space, your locker rooms, your bathrooms and your sports teams. I am not mind blown by this because we're seeing this over and over, but it's just so nuts to have a government send this out to the people and essentially accuse them of being discriminatory if they don't agree with what's being said here. Let's finish out the ad. Says the unsaid says a lot, so think about what you're really saying. So yeah, everyone deserves to feel safe. Unless you are a woman on an elevator who feels unsafe, then you have to sit in that feeling so that you don't come off as discriminatory. Or if you're a woman who's playing sports and doesn't want to get tackled by a grown man out on the field, you have to sit in that feeling. In fact, sit in the discomfort of being tackled by a man out on that field because you don't want to come off as discriminatory. And the unsaid really says a lot. And let's read a little bit on this website to figure out more of what they're trying to say in this ad. Says we want our audience to understand the impact of their nonverbal communication. We do this by translating nonverbal communication and showing the effect it has on trans and gender diverse people. We are helping people understand discrimination and also showing moments of allyship and how important it is to be accepting. We leave our audience with a choice of how they want to engage with the community. The unsaid says a lot. So what are you really saying? This ad tells us that we need to shift and morph our reality, our instincts, and what we think and feel to make them feel better so that they can live their truth. And it's hilarious that they say we are leaving the audience with a choice of how they want to engage with the community. When in fact, there's no choice at all. You're telling people that you must be accepting of whatever is going on around them or they're a bigot. And as much as these people seem to hate a binary, they've certainly presented one in this ad except all things trans and gender diverse, that makes you a good person. If you don't accept all things trans and gender diverse, that makes you a bad person, a turf, a transphobe, a bigot. So yeah, I agree with the Victorian government. The unsaid does say a lot. And what was unsaid in this ad says a lot to me. You don't care about women's safety. You don't care about the debates that we're currently having on this issue. You don't care about actually creating an accepting society. You want your narrative to be accepted. You want your truth to be accepted. And you don't care who you have to step on or disenfranchise or endanger or call a bigot on the way there. So yeah, the unsaid says a lot. But let me say it for you very clearly here. And yes, I'm thinking about what I'm saying before I say it. This ad is garbage and the Victorian government should do better. And by do better, I mean putting out less propaganda that tells people how they should think and feel on this issue. Let's not leave that unsaid. But those are just my thoughts. Drop your thoughts in the comments down below. As always, I encourage healthy debate. So if you disagree with anything said in this video, do get out, but do so respectfully.
