Welcome to the One Life podcast with Becca White. I am your host and this is episode 32, Monday Mindset Power Postures. It's a new week. Today, I'm just thrown out a mindset invitation to start off the new week from a place of strength. Fun fact, at one point in my career journey, I taught 8th grade girls PE. At the end of every class, we did power poses because some people, including me, believe power poses can help improve blood flow, mood, and confidence. Who needs these benefits more than teenage girls? No one. That's who. However, we can all benefit from the boost in blood flow, mood, and confidence. So take note of the following five power postures. I invite you to try each one out. Number one, the victory pose, arm raised in a V shape with the chin lifted. Number two, the Superman pose, standing tall, fists on hip, feet shoulder width apart. Number three, the Wonder Woman pose, similar to Superman, but with the feet wider and the hands on the waist. Number four, the warrior pose. This is a yoga stance with one leg forward, one arm extended forward, one extended backward. And finally, the star pose, standing with feet wide and arms outstretched. The idea behind power postures is to take up as much space as you can with your body. Some people are inclined to respond differently when we take power postures as opposed to when we make ourselves small. And we feel differently about ourselves as well. So the invitation today is this, strike a pose, hit these power postures to give you a boost to start off the new week from a place of strength, and also hopefully a smile. Go be great. We only get one life, let's make it our best. [BLANK_AUDIO]
