Good afternoon, everybody. Welcome to the program here on Sports Radio AM 1300. The zone here on this Tuesday afternoon. My name is Craig Way. Thanks so much for joining us. We do appreciate that as always. We're with you from 2 to 5 PM daily here on the program. Here as we sit hard by the penny backer bridge and a stride like Austin and the Colorado River. Glad to have you with us. Always glad to be joined by the producer. Cameron D. Parker, the D on the birth certificate stands for Dallas. We had a detailed discussion of his the level of his fandom yesterday for the team for which he was named the Dallas Cowboys that he says he's not going to watch. He did watch a little bit of the preseason thing, but does not plan to watch him in the regular season or the postseason unless they've reached the NFC Championship game, something they have not done since 1995. Would you like since since Dallas is your middle language, I'd like to have one of those uniforms, like what SMU has where it just has Dallas right across the front there in the middle there. Those are pretty cool. I love Duncan Vills where it's just the Dean in the apostrophe and in the bill on it. D-bill, those are always really cool. Yeah. And by the way, they're going to be tough to beat again. The preseason number one team in the state, if I remember correctly and I could check this, I don't think they start when everybody else starts on the zero week because for the second straight year, they're only able to schedule nine opponents. Nobody wants to play them and hard and blame people, you know, because I'm the same issue that fixed shavers happen. It's trying to get non-conference opponents and more importantly, in their case, non-conference opponents to play at home. And so they're still working on their non-conference schedule. That's why it hasn't been released yet. The men's basketball non-conference schedule is out. But the women's basketball non-conference schedule, not yet. Yeah, Duncan Vills open week one. And then they play South Oak Cliff the second week. Then they play something called St. France's Academy of Maryland, which is a really high-level private school in the Baltimore area. I'm guessing that game is going to be on ESPNU, ESPN, please. It's not because I know the guy who does play by play for the Radio Barakas and he told me it's a flow sports telecommunications. OK. Yeah, yeah, oddly enough. So yeah, that's-- and it is a Saturday that they'll be playing them. So yeah, they're going to be tough to beat. But there's teams in this area that are going to be tough to beat as well. Everybody's practicing now, you know, Pannegrove's practicing, Westlake practicing, like Travis's practicing, you know, the big 6A programs, the big 5A programs like Liberty Hill and Cedar Park, you know, all of those, you know, the 4A's. They're all the way down. They're all on the field and new in practices either early in the morning or in the evening or something, trying to beat the heat, which makes sense as hot as it is. Do you have your schedule yet for high school football? Do you know what your week zero game will be? Do you have a week zero game or are you just doing with one? I do. I do. That is week zero. It's that's going to be and week zero for Texas high school football is week one for college football. It's the last weekend of the month. We're actually on Valley Sports Southwest going to televise the game in the Metroplex between Lucas Lovejoy and Lubbock Cooper, big intersectional matchup between two 5A powers accented by the fact that it is the return to the sidelines for none other than Todd Dodge. Oh, of course, kind of quote unquote went out on top when he had the 3P with Westlake retired. But now he's back took a year off and a couple of years and now he's ready to go again. And he's going to be the coach at Lovejoy, which is for folks who don't know where that is. That's it's part of the suburban sprawl in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex. It is to the east of Plano kind of Northeast. You know what I would equate it to huddle. Think of the thing about that kind of Northeast and building up really big course. I know it's a 6A now Lovejoy is a 5A program. But yeah, that'll be the game we'll be doing on the on the week zero of that. And then, of course, all the scoreboard shows and all that sort of stuff. Today on the program, we'll talk some college football. We're going to hear from Sark. Now, understand, and you'll hear-- and there's some really good offerings from Sark-- about the development of this football team coming out of the scrimmage, coming out of the practice yesterday. There's good stuff there. At the time that Sark did the media availability yesterday after practice, Ward had not come down that Christian Clark had sustained a leg injury. Still don't know the full extent of that yet. And but Sark will talk about some of the other things as well with this football team. And we'll hear from him-- there's a lot of audio. So we'll hear it in all three hours of the program this afternoon. Also, pro football, training camp updates, no update, really, to tell you about CDLAM. Although-- I don't know if you've heard this, Kim-- I've heard whispers that they're getting closer, that the talks have accelerated. And then, where's reports of an offer being made where he would be the second highest receiver paid contract of all time, if they accept that. That, supposedly, has been extended. I think I saw Adam Shefter tweet yesterday saying that it's expected they will get a deal done before week one. And I think so, too. I mean, we saw it with the ZQL it. I think if you're going to rate between CD, Micah, and Dak Prescott, the likelihood, they'll get re-signed. I think CD is at one. Micah 2 and Dak 3 at this point. That makes sense. Well, for those who feel that the Cowboys would be making a huge mistake by not holding on the Dak Prescott, it might not make sense. But in the prioritization, if we can, if we can, from a moment, climb into the mind of Jerry Jones, and Stephen Jones, and Will McClay, and all of that's going in the front office of the Cowboys, I think you are correct, Cameron, in that. I think that's how they prioritized it. We heard Stephen Jones, even on the first day, their training camp, but the first time they spoke, the Cowboys Brain Trust, about how they have the challenge to do three deals that many organizations only have to deal with one. And he made a point of pointing that out. He said, we've got three that we have to deal with, three that we have to get done. So maybe it's on their list, but I think, to your point, the priority is certainly going to be more toward getting CD Lamb. If for no other reason, is that strong the most attention? And if they can get him locked up, then they figure what I'm just guessing is because he is such an explosive playmaking type of receiver that even if they can't hold on the Dak Prescott after the end of the season, whatever quarterback they had, be it Trey Lance or somebody else that they brought in, somebody else can still get the football to CD Lamb and let him do his thing. So I do agree with you. I think that's the direction that they would go. I could parsons, they got to get done too. He can be that kind of franchise guy and they need to get him done. So anyway, we've got other NFL notes to get to, Olympic notes as well. There's a basketball to get to. Baseballs had some bizarre things happen in the last 24 to 48 hours. We'll do that. Speaking of bizarre, we do have inconceivable, which will include a fast food update. By the way, we can update to tell you that, you know, I mentioned an inconceivable the other day that updating fast food because we put Starbucks into the fast food category and they came up with a new drink, vanilla caramel swirl. And Cam said it sounded interesting. So I thought I would take it beyond interesting and went ahead and picked us up each one today coming in. Review? Good. OK. I need that sugar rush to include this afternoon. Because for folks who don't know, we're getting very excited around here because, like everybody else, we're excited about the advent of football season clearly. And in specific for the long ones, this, of course, is your flagship radio station for long-wind football. This-- and you'll be able to hear all the games, both on this station and on our big, elephantine sibling that wears the straw hat, 98.1 FM KVET, the home of Austin's all-time country favorites. So on both signals, you'll hear all of the long-wind football games. And I think also on Austin's AD station, 103.1 FM. So we've got it. You can't miss it. The games on your radio dial. So we've got the games on this season. And just like last year, last year was the first year back. And it all happened so quickly, the games winding up back over here in the I-Heart family, me coming back over, Cameron coming over and joining us at the I-Heart. If it's a truth or no, Cameron was actually an employee here before I was. They are in my second go-around. Second go-around, taking the second go-around. I was here for 19 years the first time, but then the second go-around. Got me there. Second time, you were in the building before I was. But in my situation, it was a little more complicated, but we got through it. And so last year was the first year getting through all of that. And there were some things and adjustments. And yes, even some growing pains to go through on some of the things. But got through that and now re-upped, re-armed and excited and ready for year number two back in the I-Heart family. And we've got all the games. So with that in mind, this morning, Cameron, along with our fearless leader, our program director, Terry Fox, and what you had technical industry. And also you had Mike Hardball, Harge, and Mark Henry, who you listen to every week day morning on the morning kickoff from 7 AM to 9 AM. But Harge and Mark Henry will be joining Cameron to bring you along one game-day pre-game coverage, beginning three hours prior to kick. So they went down along with technical staff to, it was Terry Kelly there from the network as well? Yeah, yeah. Speaking of fearless leaders, our operations director for the long-run radio network from Learfield, a group of them gathered down at the new broadcast location for that. I know folks for years have become accustomed to seeing the broadcast location be on the sidewalk there, just outside the entrance to the west side of the press box, west side of the stadium, and it's kind of crammed in with some of them. They've got new big spacious digs just half-block down the street right there at the Winship Circle area where there's going to be so much going on. And so you like that area. Oh, it's going to be exciting, Craig. I'm super pumped. And I know the rest of the team is as well. Year number two of our pre-game show, but revamped, reimagined, this year it will be called Longhorn's Game Day and glad to be hosting it again with my cards and get the welcome Mark Henry, who has got some great insight on football, on the game, on Texas football as well. So looking forward to that, we're having a great spot right near Big Bertha in the food truck, so a great place for fans to come in and be able to watch our show. We're going to have plenty of guests on this season. Craig and Roger will join us from the booth at times, former players, insiders. It's exciting, Craig, and we're, what, 18 days away? 18 away, and I just couldn't help but think about how good the timing is and the positioning that you guys next to Big Bertha, you know, the big beverage truck if you've not seen it, that dispenses cold, malted beverages there. Now, unfortunately, I think I'm going to have duties during the game and after the game, but I know my cards and Mark Henry will probably be taking advantage of Big Bertha after your show, after the show, make sure, if you're coming out, you do take advantage of Big Bertha. The first of the long ones, game day programming, will be on Saturday, August 31st, and that's 18 days away, and it will be at 11.30am, three hours prior to the 2.30 kickoff, and those guys will take you for two hours from 11.30am up to 1.30am, then our network pregame at 1.30 in the kickoff at 2.30am, let post game coverage as well. So all of that to come here on the zone and our IR radio family. All right, up next, we're going to hear from long ones head coach Steve Sarkisian when we continue here on this Tuesday afternoon on Sports Radio AM 13 under the zone and where you can always listen to us for free, the IR Radio app.
