She's taking her kids to the first day of kindergarten. So, Brian's going to be doing celebrity news. What's going on, man? Oh, the Olympics wrapped up yesterday. Big closing ceremonies. I ain't going to lie. I'm not hoarding, Tori. And I turned it on, and they were doing that symphony stuff. And I turned on something. Yeah, well, I heard it. I missed a lot of good stuff, though. It did get Erica a little bit into it. So, just real quick, we did officially win the Olympics. The United States tied with China with 40 gold medals, and really gold is how they decide who wins. But we got about 35 more medals in them overall. So, when you look at the overall, we did win. So, we got to thank the women's basketball team. Yep. 'Cause that was the last event. Yeah, they pulled it out at the end. So, yeah, that was good. The men's basketball game was, the final was really good. Yeah, it was. It was close for a minute. Yeah, France was not going out like that. But, Steph Curry, that guy is a monster. How does he... I mean, it's crazy. That's all you can say. Right. If he misses those, he gets killed. Because the shots are not good shots, but he doesn't miss. Which is just wild. 'Cause, I mean, it's like, coach, I did the best I could. I had an elbow in his rear. Right. Like, he had no business shooting some of those shots. But he did, and they went in, and they won. So, it was great. Breakdancing has taken front and center. Not for a good reason, 'cause that chick from Australia, her name is Ray Gunn. Ray Gunn. And in case you don't know who he's talking about, it's the girl who literally did the kangaroo. I mean, she's from Australia. That's why it's a down under tight move. It's the kangaroo. It's a kangaroo. Hip-hop's like this. Listen, I'm gonna tell you, what's her name? I think it's Ray Gunn. Ray Gunn. There's something like that. She single-handedly is gonna get hip-hop pulled out of the Olympics. Oh, yeah. It's gone. I don't think it's coming back. Some of the funniest memes, my favorite one, is someone posted a video here and said, "This is what my nephew does." When he says, "Yo, uncle, watch this." And she's at the Olympics. And then she jumped on the ground. What was that jump on the ground? I don't know. Worm things. I have no idea. A lot of people are mimicking them and like, reposting them on social. Oh, we need to do it. Yeah, but shout out to Victor Montavo. Now, he is from Kissimmeh. Yes, and he's on the Red Bull team and he got the bronze medal. Congratulations. So, yeah, I mean, if you can dance, you can dance. That girl cannot. They got to perfect it though. I know what they were trying to do and I know this was the first time and hopefully if they do it again in Los Angeles, they'll do better. But they try to do it like old school street, have a DJ and then two people. I'm watching your competitor and I'm sitting there. And all that's fine, but that girl from Australia got zero votes. It was 18 to nothing in her battle. Really? Yeah. It was very bad. Wow. Okay. So, the closing ceremony is real quick. There was some, some francy stuff there, obviously, 'cause they're in France. But then it did get real American, Tom Cruise. Yes, I want to know what happened. Swooped in. So, he repelled down into the stadium and he got the Olympic flag from Simone Biles. He attached it to the back of a motorcycle and then he drove out of the stadium. Nice. And then he cruised through the streets of Paris. Now, some of this was pre-taped. Okay. Crews by the Eiffel Tower rode the motorcycle right into a waiting cargo plane. The cargo plane takes off. Hidden to the United States. To the United States with the flag. Tom Cruise then skydives out of the cargo plane. Of course he does. Lands near the Hollywood side. I missed this. Which has the Olympic rings on the O's for the Hollywood sign. Yes. And then Snoop Dogg, oh, he heads to the beach. Sorry, where Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Horrors, they all performed. I got to see that. And then it went back to Paris where they got francy and they did the final fireworks. Oh man. That's a way to like wrap it up. Oh yeah. But here's the thing, LA, y'all got to come strong. Yes. And I would, if I would look at Los Angeles like your house, you don't wait until the guests are coming to clean it up. Y'all need to start cleaning now. Yeah, you got four years. You got four years. Right now, we don't have no business inviting nobody to the house. Paris looked good. It did. It looked real good. It looked real good. I mean, except for that river. That river's a little dirty. Well, yeah. They did everything to try to squash it up. Snoop Dogg will probably be back for 2028. They're already in discussions for the 2026 Winter Games, which would be interesting. Yeah, because ratings are up 78%. Oh my goodness. This is like his new thing now over the previous. It was some good, I don't know what it was about this year, but it was some good competition. Yeah, it was fun to watch. Yeah. So he'll be back for 2026 in the winter. And then I'm sure for 2028, there's been a ton of celebrities over there. So they did a whole entire story of all the celebrities that were cited. I mean, I don't even have time to run through all of them that were there. Travis Scott and Quavo. Well, Travis Scott got arrested. Yeah, he did. He messed with some security guards. But they did let him go and they dropped everything. Emma Roberts was there, Gabrielle Union, obviously, because the Wayne Wade was doing play-by-play. Tom Brady was in the stands watching. She's been practicing for the news. He is, he's going to be the commentator this year, right? Yeah, I think so. Yeah. Taraji P. Henson was there. Sharon Stone was there. Eva Mendez and Ryan Gosling were there. John Travolta, obviously Snoop Dogg. Kendall Jenner was there. Let's see. A bunch of royalty from other countries. Let's queen, let's see if a royalty from our country. Is it the president of France? Yes. To be the president. Taking a picture with Jimmy Fallon. Like, yeah, man, you can get yourself. Oh, Jimmy Fallon's sitting courtside with his sunglasses on. Like, he's too damn cool. Nicole Kidman was one of the big celebrities Spike Lee was there. The Jonas Brothers, Nick Jonas was up there drinking some wine. 78%. I mean, pretty much every, yeah, 78% ratings boost over the last one of those. I don't know. I think it's just because it's like tied into pop culture. All these celebrities. They're the influencers now. No, no, I mean, why me? 78%. Like, the last Olympics. I like watching the Olympics because of the competition. I love the track and feel. But the last couple have been like, why? This one, for whatever reason. Yes. That would be the highlight, too, from social media. Snoop Dogg and Kevin Hart were at the last one. Yeah. I don't know what it was. I honestly don't. I don't know what the big booth was. Now, some people did say that Peacock did a great job of making things accessible. Yeah. So you could watch it when you wanted to watch it and you knew what was coming up. Yeah. Yeah. So they probably had a big part of why people were watching because they knew where to find stuff. Do you remember that a couple years ago, when they made the huge mistake, if they tried to do this thing called the triple cast? Yes. It bombed. It was a cluster. They had, you could watch the Olympics on three different platforms, but they didn't explain when, how, when, nothing. No wonder anything was. Yeah. It was bad. Yeah, you couldn't find anything. It was bad. I will say it was easy to find when stuff was happening. I knew when the big races were happening. I knew when the big basketball games were happening. Yeah. So they did a great job with that. Yeah. So maybe that had a lot to do with it. I think Snoop does bring some, but like I said, Snoop and Kevin Hart were at the last one. I have a goal. I want to go to the Olympics in Los Angeles to watch track and field. I've thrown it out to my boys that I grew up with that. We ran track together. I'm like, let's plan now. Yeah. I'm going to tell y'all. I know it's going to happen. All y'all 100% going to say yesterday, but in four years, oh man, I'm going. Yeah. Well, at least I'm going to try. It has to do with the baby DJ program, but this thing's going to be large and we're going to need your help. It's something that has to do with our baby DJ program and what together we can do is putting the community together and making things happen in a positive way in years past what we've done is we found 10 local title one schools and we made sure that they had supplies and backpacks for the students. This year I wanted to say I wanted to prove that what if we took a title one school and give them everything they need and help that school become an a school. So we found a school and I'm not going to mention their names yet and last week we had a shipment of school supplies delivered to the school to make sure that those kids have everything they need. It's an elementary school and the reason we picked elementary schools because those babies don't need to know that their parents are getting through hard times. Yeah. I mean if you're you got your kid got some new calls today new shoes and they're feeling good about their first day of school. Consider yourself blessed. There are kids in our community right now that don't have that. Their families that are working hard just to put food on the table and we want to assist this school in doing so when I first met with the principal and a teacher when I went over to the school. There was a teacher there again. I won't say her name. She was so passionate about the students she started to cry and I said you know what and then they showed me around the school and I said what do you guys need if if you had a wish list of anything that you can have for your school what would it be. And they said we would like nets for our basketball court. Yeah. It's crazy. Or just the markings. Little stuff. Little stuff. And I said no no no let's think big. If you can have everything that you want for your school to help the teachers get anything they need to help these students what would it be and they came up with a list of some things they had a meeting they came to they would like some landscaping in the schools some office furniture for their office they like someone to paint a mural for the heritage of the children that are there. I mean soccer balls footballs just the basic things that most schools you think they have they don't have them they want us to ask if we can put together a clothing drive for the school put together a food pantry because some of the kids unfortunately in this have now a community after lunch on Friday they don't eat again till breakfast at school on Monday. So we got together and we said you know what let's start this thing call together we can and Central Florida together we can we have a Facebook we have Insta we also have a a web page of Central Florida together we can dot com we want it together we can dot com but a man told me it's gonna cost me $50,000 y'all don't know what I wanted to say yeah so behind us. group of people that would say okay show me where we can help 90% of the people that I've reached out to to say hey I need help with this or I need help with that they said yeah there's a couple of cycles like we can't do it I understand that but there's a lot of things that we can do and let's just let this one school and again I'll tell you here in a couple of weeks to name of the school let's show that this one school as a community we can do this together we can Central Florida together we can that is the name of the project it is underway right now just hit us up we have you can hit us stagger the count yes so I do a little different language which is crazy to me and we gonna say it's first at school not my school my school don't stop till Thursday but for whatever reason this year they all they're all doing it today for the first day of school isolated thunderstorms or 60% chance they say later on this afternoon if you're getting dressed 103 with the heat index is 76 and we won't say what school it is we don't want to surprise you somebody's AC it'll be more than one it is going to be hot now we do say it all the time but now if you're driving to work remember there's school zones yes so where there wasn't a school zone yesterday there's a school zone today so you got to go the right speed there's kids that you ain't usually there yeah be safe now growing up in the again I always talk about how times are different growing up they don't care why they didn't have AC on buses you just you either get the windows down hit the windows down yeah same in my biggest i remember stopping behind a bus because i didn't want to be beside the bus because the windows was down mm-hmm hey play a play oh man i'm just trying to get home i think they frowned upon that now they don't let you yeah i don't think so back then it was on we used to write notes and stick them up against the back window makes any help or or cursing them out i used to draw a person shooting the bird and sticking against the back window so the car behind me can see it it's like people like you're the reason why i sat in the front you know it's cool because i've never seen that now now i roll up on a bus you can't even tell this kid's on the bus back then it was like what the drivers did not care i think they attempted the windows so yes so you couldn't see yes i told you when i was a school the students were the drivers uh last period bus drivers uh you can leave your class and get to buses can you imagine brian was a bus driver oh i can't i'm riding brian's bus oh i can't imagine that's how it went down i would be break checking everybody i told you let's sit down we they got in kelly i'm like kelly man go by the pop-eyes we'll get you a two piece he go by the pop-eyes drop you all drop around the pop-eyes pick you back up and then take your home i like it they can't do stuff like i got kicked off the bus in seventh grade the whole year oh what did you do again um i i i said some things i shouldn't have said to the bus driver to the point where she put off the side of the road locked us in the bus and they had to send someone to get us no and then they told me you personally did it they told me you know y'all you can't ride the bus no more so they didn't say half of the whole year yeah the whole year i couldn't ride the bus yeah y'all was straight yeah my uh my i had to ride to work with my mom because she was a teacher at another school which is even worse and then i had to skateboard the other four miles to my school and home every day oh man what if it rained i got wet you know what there's certain crimes when you hear the punishment you think they used that as an example oh hundred percent thank you that's an example hundred percent i bet the bus was harmonious after i he about brian they say he can never get on the bus even through college yeah my entire seventh grade year i wasn't allowed to ride the bus that's pretty bad i know all right now here's what's happening is that now we have more people that are listening to us on the way to school we want to say thank you thank you for riding with us what we want you to do is tell people who are listening for the first time why they should continue to listen to johnnie's house now you've been listening for a long time you may have been listening for for years i've talked to people over the weekend who've been listening since middle school and i don't know how cuz y'all by my age but i don't need questioning i don't need question that i said that's cool with me i want to find out why should they listen to johnnie's house because right now they're making a choice on what i'm going to listen to every day as i take my child to school uh is it okay to listen to is it okay safer for little ears and all that good stuff i want to find out from you you tell them you call in you listen and we can sit back and say hey listen we are the best morning show in central florida but that sounds like us bragging you know yeah we come in here every day to make sure we provide you with excellent entertainment to get you going your way get you started get your kids going you need the information that you need to start your day now we can do that but to see how i said that it made me find it sound kind of a little a little egotistical yeah like i'm better than everybody else you know i am in the hall of fame yeah that's true the only person on the radio right now in central florida that is in the florida's broadcasters hall of fame so what we'll do is we'll introduce ourselves if you're listening for the first time uh i'm i'm johnny magic uh been here 34 years love what we do every single day and it's a joy in my life to be able to be blessed to get up and entertain you every single day and to my right uh i am brian i my last name's grimes but i just say brian all the time and if you hear me say b yeah that's me that means brian yeah the consultant told me to stop saying that and i'm trying but i've been calling you b for years yeah that's like your brotherly code right there a lot of people do that or they call me bg the one because i don't they don't want to say the whole name but i was that from you too i call him bt sometimes i was born and raised in sanford right down the street so i went to similar high school was up uh and i've been here for 23 years uh went to ucf for a minute i went to similar state college for a minute went to blincy for a minute so i've been i made the rounds of all the local floor to schools before i went to texas for school for a while uh and that's pretty much it i live in one garden now and just hang hang out with you and if uh if james brown was a loud day brian would give him a run for his money for the hard work you made his show for sure yeah i'm on i i do five to six radio shows a day for other cities and other formats i'm on this afternoon while you're when you're in the car line this afternoon you can listen to me on magic 107 seven car line warriors we gonna do this y'all together we gonna do this i am not looking forward so i got you on in the car line in the morning yes and i got you in the car line in the afternoon and uh noreese uh so what's up everyone i'm noreese uh i am the newest member to jonnie's house been here for about a year and change now uh before that i was from i'm from south florida born and raised got my family friend still down there uh i started down in like boca ritone uh graduated fau 2016 in journalism very good i slowly worked my way into journalism moved into orlando uh next thing you know i'm working radio which i think i'm exactly where i'm supposed to be yep yep and ray ray will uh she's out today because her she has twins and they start their first day of kennigar and then she wants to go and we just know she's gonna be an emotional rec because she's very emotional woman uh so we said stay home and and you know enjoy the day that you guys do for the community and then on the morning and on the way to school because i'm an educator and so happy first day at all those kiddos out there good luck all the all the parents sending their kids off for the first day but you guys are entertaining like the last caller said also y'all almost all of y'all have kids so the stories you tell are relatable um i like knowing what's
