The following podcast is a dear media production. - Hi! - Hi! Introduce yourself. - You know, we could easily get you on Love Island. - No, that's the one that I got asked to be on forever ago. - What? - Yeah. Shut up. You're such a bad friend around me because you make her take care of you and you're a grown 30-year-old woman. - Content baby content. - No one ever gets that bad to her. I have to take care of them. [laughter] [music] - Pretty basic. - Hey, guys. What's up? Welcome back to Pretty Basic. Today, you have me, Alicia Marie, and the studio with Remy. It's like you don't even know they're subscribed to our podcast. - It's like they never know who else is going to answer, and it's always me. - It's always us. - It's just always us. - They really have a 50/50 chance of who's starting. - I wonder who they think starts more often. - Probably. Do I start the pod more often? - I don't know. I get -- especially with guests, I get really nervous. - Yeah. And so I'm always like, "Do you want to start it?" - You know, it's funny. Every time you say, "Do you want to start it?" I'm always like, "Yeah, yeah, I can," because I'm like, "I know that means you saying, like, "I'm nervous." - Yeah. - Anytime we ask each other, "Hey, want to do this," that's us asking the other person, like, "Can you do this?" - It's like with the guests, yes, but then when it's to get one more alone, I feel like it's more of like a polite, like, you know, "Do you want to do it?" - Yeah. - Like, you're welcome to do it if you'd like. - Like, who's feeling it more? - Maybe I'm really excited today to do it. - I am. I will say, with guests, I swear on my -- my mind will blink sometimes on their name. Their name could be Jessica Smith, and suddenly I'm like, "What's their fucking name? What's their fucking name?" - Yeah. - What's their fucking name? - That's why I get nervous for the introduction. - I -- - And you want to do it in a good way. - Even when Brooke Schofield was on, I knew it was Schofield. I asked her three times before, and then I was like, "Schofield. Schofield." - Schofield. - Schofield. - Schofield. - Schofield. - Schofield. - Schofield. - Schofield, yes. - I -- I just, like, get nervous. - I get -- I mean, I get it, especially because, obviously, if anybody comes on, we're fans of them already. - Yes. - And so, for how long had we been watching her content wondering, is it Schofield? Is it Schofield? Is it, you know, Schofield, whatever you just said? - I'm -- - And when she came on, we were like, "Beforehand, how do you pronounce it?" - But it's hard sometimes. - No, they'll tell me. - They'll tell reporters how -- - While they're still telling me -- I forget. - Yeah. - Like, I'm like, "Can you say that one more time?" And then, yeah, I feel like people could probably tell, because sometimes I'll be like, "Introduce yourself." - Take it away. - Take it away. - You know what? You introduce yourself today. - Yeah. - Wow, I'm kind of exposing myself. The next guest we have that I'm like, "Hi, introduce yourself." - I know, I have to practice with Bretman's. I was practicing. Like, we have to do them justice, obviously. - I will say, Bretman does -- he did have his intro. - Mm-hmm. - I mean, no one could forget the iconic Bretman rock. - Yeah, absolutely. - But how's your week? - Oh, my gosh. My week has been -- I mean, it's Tuesday, so my week has been long. - Oh, already? - No, I'm just kidding. - Not even a hump day. - It's been really good. I -- We're obviously finally beat the jet lag. I decided yesterday it's not an excuse anymore, so I woke up at six. Boom, back to it. - Ew. - I know. But I was like, "At what point can I not decide -- it's not a choice. At what point do I have to just get myself up?" - Dude, the way I got comments being like jet lag is a choice. I was like, "No, no, no, I agree until I don't." - Yep. You agree until you are tired and you wake up and you're just like ten more minutes, ten more minutes? But no, I had a really good day yesterday. We did a little going away dinner for one of my friends who's moving away, which is so sad. And other than that, just back to work stuff. I've been really lucky because we filmed so much in Asia that I feel like I've gotten a real break at home. - Nice. - And I find myself being like, "What do I do all day long?" 'Cause normally I'm filming or editing or doing something, so it's been really nice to have an actual break and still have content be going up. And it's just been very nice. I'm excited to get back to work, though. - No, I feel that on so many levels because obviously when you're on vacation, but specifically, Japan and Korea, everything is filmable and exciting and we just kept filming everything. So I came home and I was almost like twiddling my thumbs like, "What do I feel?" - What do I do? - 'Cause you looked up to leave time to post it also. So now you're like, "Well, I don't want to post film now." - Oh, no, I don't even know what to film. I'm like, "There it was." - I was like, "I could go into a convenience store eight times a day." - And now I'm like, "Okay, catch me at 7/11." - It's so true. It's just not the same. - It's not the same. - It's not the same, but we-- - We want to go back already. - Oh, my God, I can't. - Oh, hey. - Yes, how have you been, though? How was your Monday? - Well, the weekend, honestly, itself was really chill and wholesome. - Yes. - I was like, "I made up for Luke Combs." - We didn't get into that yet. - We didn't get into that yet. - We did it. - But by now, the episode's got up. - Yeah, by now, the basically unfiltered one is up, which obviously we can-- I was telling-- I had dinner last night with our manager, and I told her the whole story, and it was comical. - What did she think? - She was dying laughing, and I was being so funny telling the story. I was like, "Damn it, now I'm like-- did I not do a good job on basically unfiltered? Like, should I've been, like, hamming it up more?" Because, like, obviously everything's so theatrical with it. And I'd be like, "Yeah, then!" Anyway, wholesome week and this weekend, I watched so much Love Island. I am officially obsessed with Love Island USA. - Okay. - Everyone's telling me I need to watch Love Island UK, because it's better. - That's what everybody says. - Shout out Lexi. She's the one who was like, "Oh, let's watch Love Island." I was like, "Oh, my God, I'm-- I'm--" - I love it. - You know what I love? It comes out nightly, so it's like tomorrow at 6 p.m. I have a nightly routine now. - That's really nice. - And it's all revolved around reality TV. And then after that, I was watching Love Undercover for the longest time. And I'm just in my little reality face mask, lay in bed with my dog's era. - You know, we could easily get you on Love Island. - You know, like-- - That's the one that I got asked to be on forever ago. - What? - Yeah, I got like an e-mail. This was like, obviously like 28. Remember when I got that e-mail about casting? - I didn't know it was Love Island. - Yeah, it was Love Island. Like, well, this was a long time ago, and now it's more popular. But I feel like we could easily get you on Love Island. Would you go? - I... - Maybe. Maybe I would for the plot. - Maybe what? - Yes. Well, maybe this is, you know, guiding you into the idea of being open to reality TV and open to being on a dating show. - Well, what's crazy, I'll do this quick, because I know not everyone's a reality girly, but what's cool about this show is there's no cameramen, really? Like, there's just a shit ton of cameras installed throughout the property. - Big brother. - And yes, and everyone has a necklace, that's their mic. So you don't feel like you're being, well, I don't know, because I've never been on it, but I feel like everything feels so much more real because it's not like, okay, the cameraman's on me, like perform or do something, like, they probably slip up sometimes. - Or exactly, like, it feels so much more real, or people will be like, hey, you want to go in this corner, and even though it feels private from the rest of the group, like, there's so many cameras. - The theme of Kay's Bachelorette was Love Island, Casa Amor. Is that the house that they're in? - I just assumed the way I did no research and threw the bachelorette. - Honestly, I have no idea. - Maybe it's the UK one. - Okay, that's the UK one. - The one she, the only thing she wanted was she wanted us to wear mics around our neck, like, as if we were... - No, Rem, the way I love it. - I researched it to be like, we need that. We need it for filming. Like, that'd be so... - Like those mics, yeah, I was like, we need the necklace mics, like, there's such good... - I hate a hot mic. I get nervous when I'm on set and I'm peeing or something. - Okay, but literally, yours is going to be like, so good. (laughter) - So, Drew, this... - Pass. - So good. - So good. - So good. - I was like, so good. - Oh my God. - That was good. - So good. - Oh, that was it. Yeah, well, wait, should we catch them up on the new comms of it all, or do we want to just... - I skate past that one. - All I will say is I did, in fact, get a little too drunk. - Happened to the best of us. - I did, in fact, rookie move, didn't eat. And I also did, in fact, have to go... I didn't have to. I insisted that they call an ambulance and take me to the hospital. - Call an ambulance. Call an ambulance. - Sure, how much have you had an entire time? - But not for me. - On my shoulder, brother. (laughter) - This skirt is what I wore, and it was funny because I kind of forgot I had it. I got this skirt from Urban Outfitters. On clearance, I want to say it was like 15, 12 bucks, and I wore her to loot comms, and I just remember when I saw her, obviously she's been washed since said ER visit. (laughter) - You shouldn't have. - No, I really should have. - I really should have. - I thought she needed a good night, or, you know, debut. - A little bleaching, a little dog in the bleach, a little soak in the bleach. - I have to say, I told Lauren and Mia the whole story and they were dying laughing. I mean, it's going out on the podcast. They were dying laughing, and Lauren keeps referencing. She said the best part of it all was, which I don't know if I told you this part, and I didn't tell it on the podcast, you were bare ass on the floor because you were wearing a skirt, said skirt. - And then I got worried about your vagina, obviously. - Oh, thank you. - Of course. So I somehow maneuvered your body up and slid paper towels under you to protect. - You did not tell me that. - Yeah, and she keeps texting me being like, "I just can't believe you did that." That was the last impression that I left. - Wait, L-O-L, I'm just so sorry. - No! - Why would you be sorry? - Why would I not be... Imagine if I wasn't. - I was sorry for your lady parts. - I mean, she's been fine. No UTI or anything. - I thought that's what I said to Lauren, I said, "I think she's fine because I would have gotten a text of a yeast infection or something." - Yeah, no. - Yeah, that was the most important thing to me. - Well... - Was your bits. - My lady bits. - Your lady bits. - Honestly. Those are very important to me too, so thank you. - Of course. - And I appreciate that. - Of course. - More than you know. - Yes. - Actually. - I'm sure. - And yeah, no recollection of that. - That was a good move though of me. 'Cause I went like this, and then I went with my foot. - With my foot? - She said these put bodies under there. - Yeah, these different moves. - The reformer? - Up and under? - Oh my God. - Protect the lady bits. - I think my favorite part from that whole story was not only was it our first team bonding for basically in a film talk-- - Obviously. - Of course, we got to start strong. - Yep. - You know, we really had to do that. - Can't go down from there. - And I feel like I've, you know, I brought the content. - You did? - I didn't intend for that. And I love how at first I was like, guys, I'm not sharing this at all. This is so embarrassing. Like, I can't. And then I think you and Zane texted me separately and was like, "Hey, like we don't have to talk about this." - He called me. Did I tell you? - No. - He wanted to talk about it, but I don't know, she doesn't need to, and I was like, no, she doesn't need to, and I don't think she will, but like if she wants to, she can, obviously. - But it's like too good not to. - Content baby content. - But you, you know, you are like, but if you do, like it'd be really fun. I was like, "No, no, I feel that." And you know, that's the price I pay for putting my life on the internet. - You know what you say? You say that you're like a little more quiet on that pod for sure. You brought, you brought the best story of the month. - I feel like, honestly, I feel like I was speechless because I was like, "Oh, oh that, oh that, that's like the thing about when you, you know, you, you have a little too much to drink one night or, you know, - It's debrief. - The debrief is like the most humbling and also just like fun experience of it all. Like we don't do, we shouldn't repeat, but like, you know, we learned a lot of times. - What happens? What happens? - But that's true. The debrief is almost better than the going out. Just like the getting ready is better than the going out, I dare I say the debrief can be better than the getting ready. I mean, I go out to get ready with my friends and for the meal that I get when I get home. - Oh my God, the best thing ever is when you're like, "Ooh, what am I going to eat when I'm home?" And then you're thinking of all the leftovers in your fridge, you're hoping there's like a hot pocket in the freezer. - I am not eating leftovers when I'm home from the bars. You're crazy. - Okay. I hear you. - You're crazy. - But I raise you. You know when you like, there was an era where I, I was so smart. I would think ahead of time, "What do I want to be in my fridge for when I come home?" So I would get that thing, even if it was like a pizza or something. But I'm also not picking and I will eat leftovers. - Yeah. - But like, I would think ahead so that way I wouldn't eat crazy shit when we were out. Like instead of like going to like a Denny's or like something when I'm out, 'cause I'm hungry, all night, I'd be like, "Oh, I can't wait 'cause my pizza's there." - Like, I love that, girl math, but I raise you being at the bar knowing it's closing. - Oh, you're getting an Uber, post-mating it to your house, so it's fresh when you get home. - I will say that is the elite of all elites. - Yes. - I hate when you don't know what you want. So I think I like knowing ahead of time, I'm gonna get pizza. I'm gonna get this. 'Cause then I can think about it all night and I get ready. - Oh, I feel that. I love that. What's your go-to, drunchy meal? Ooh. Like, if we were going out tonight, what are you thinking about right now that you can't wait to eat when you go? Which like, it's so funny because we could just not go out and, you know, save some brain cells and like, just eat it. - No, but it doesn't hit the same. - It doesn't. And also like, even just, I'm sorry, any midnight snack, you don't even have to be drunk or whatever. Like, just like a midnight snack on the kitchen floor. - I love eating in the kitchen floor. (laughter) - Make it on the kitchen floor. - Make it on the kitchen floor. - I've done that a few times. - Mine's also favorite, though, is like, I also love getting random shit. Like I'll get like some buffalo wings, but then I get a taco and then I'll get like, things that just don't go together, but I want all of them. - I'm more of a one, one meal kind of girl like burger. - I love a burger, but okay, I'll go into mine after I need to know what your crunchy is. - I think it changes so much. - True. - I think it really does. - Right now in this moment. - In this moment, tell me why I'm thinking of like, a cheesy sandwich. So maybe like a burger, like a, like a moon's over my hammy. - A what? (laughter) - That's a ham sandwich from Denny's. - Oh, he's in the ham, but I just love the name. Lex is nodding. (laughter) - The fact that that is so niche. Oh my God. - People love moons over my hammy. - No, I mean, what would I name something? - I can't think of it now. Maybe I'll come back to that. - You would eat a cheese. Like a grilled cheese? - I don't, like a, like a, like a turkey melt, like a pinini, like a pinini. - Ooh. Love a pinini. - Oh, pesto. Oh my God. - Turkey. - I was gonna say turkey pesto, like a sun-dried tomato. - Is that what we want for drunk food though? - It just sounds good right now. - I'm a pretty hungry for lunch too. I, my go-to, a Denny's, I believe it's called the Grand Slam Burger. - Yep, with the egg. - Yes, it's got hash browns, egg, cheese, burger patty, and then I add a little ketchup mayo. - I've never been a huge egg on my burger. - I am a girl. - Egg on literally anything, absolutely anything. - I like the flavor. I think I just don't love how messy it is. So I'm like, eh, omit, I love, but that's why my cholesterol's so high. I love eggs. I could eat a dozen eggs right now. - I get it. I get it. - Or, Crunchwrap Supreme. - Ooh, okay, Mexican always. I'm sorry, Mexican always. I feel like I've still yet to find one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in LA. - I'm gonna take you to that one by my house that I can tell you about. - Can you take me to that? Please comment below anyone who, like, one thing I loved about living in the IE in Riverside, the Mexican food there, so good, so authentic, like, oh my God. - It is really good. - And so many options. - And carne asada fries, that's why I discovered carne asada fries. - All of it. - And it's so good. - I don't know. I know they're out here. - That's not authentic. - That's not authentic. Sorry. - I know they're out here. I just need to find them. But one thing I despise more than anything is trying a new restaurant and not liking it. Like, the feeling of that wasn't worth it. - Oh, but what if I find it? - But you also only appreciate the really good ones because of the bad ones. - You're right. You are right. I'm not saying you're wrong. - I think look at it with a new lens. - Mm. - I just hate. - Oh, even when you just order something and you're like, I should have gotten something up. Oh, my God. - Yeah. - But that's why I'm a picture girl. Like, I have to look at the photos. - Love. - I need to see. - We're Yelp girls. - Mm-hmm. - Mm-hmm. - Photos on Yelp. Sit down. Photos on Yelp. - Oh, and when you go somewhere and there's no Yelp available for it, I'm like, but I need to see it. - Yes. - I need to see it. - I agree with that. - But yeah, I had a wholesome weekend. I watched some reality TV. And I'm not saying we need a reality show, but I'm saying, if your bachelorette isn't a reality show, I want professionals. - I am in the midst of planning the bachelorette currently. I know. - Wait, sorry. I don't know if I'm going, so I can't assume. (laughter) - You're so right. (laughter) - You don't assume. When you assume, you make it ask that you and me, the way that my sixth grade teacher put that on the board of our Christian school, and we all went, because she wrote as. You were like, I was like, oh my God, I'm sure she got in trouble. - It's so a lot your Christians school. - Not our Christians school. - But did it not stick with you forever? - I actually think about it often. - I do too. Sometimes you just need something like that to just really, really cement it into the brain. - Yeah. - Yes, I'm in the midst of planning the bachelorette, have made zero strides on the wedding, but bachelorette, I am ready for. - Tell me why I think that's common, no? - I don't know, I mean, either way, they're both going to happen. - Okay. - So eventually. - Well, I need to know, and you can just speak this out to the universe to anyone. It doesn't have to be to me, obviously, but like, are there any things you want specifically for said bachelorette? I told you, as you were in the ambulance, if mine doesn't end like this for me and you return the favor, I'm going to have some problems, I'm just kidding, but the way that I thought about it, and I was like, oh, here comes a hater, comment being like, you're such a bad friend around me, because you make her take care of you, and you're a grown 30-year-old woman, that I was like, wow, like, no one ever gets that bad to her, I have to take care of them. (laughter) - Like, I wouldn't. - I think I could do it, so I could show that I can. - Like, can anyone take one for the team and let me shine? - You know, I would be really good. - You've actually never been in that position, have you ever? - Only one time with Ollie, he would hate me, sorry, Ollie. One time with Ollie, I like held his hair back, even though he had short hair. (laughter) - I was like, I got you, baby. There was, I feel like there was also someone more recently, and I forget who it was, I say recently, it was probably like six months, and I remember thinking, ah, this is normally me, I'm so glad it's not me. - I mean, there's, and I mean this with love, there's always the dab of the group. - Am I a dab? - Yeah, babe. (laughter) - You were the other night? - That's okay. - I feel like you can pass the torch on, and at my bachelorette, I will probably be the dab, and that's welcome. - Well, one, you need to have the most fun out of anyone, so no matter what that fun is, let's go, two, I can turn into mom mode, I just never have really had to be in that. - I know you could, and I get, you're amazing with children. - Yes, thank you. - I think that it would really, your maternal instincts would come out. - And think about it, like babies kind of act like drunk adults. - No, I was literally just gonna say that, like they'll just throw themselves, they don't really make sense. Like, adults are just heavier, that's the only problem. - Yeah, like literally 150 pounds heavier. And I did tell you, watching them lift your limp body from structure to structure, it was giving Holden, I'm just kidding, I love that. You know, all that to say, please go listen to the basically unfiltered episode, we don't want to re-say the whole thing if you've heard it, and you know what, it was a great explanation, and I am okay. - We learned our lesson. - We have. - Well, hopefully it doesn't happen again, but if it doesn't, even if it does, we all are growing and learning every day. - You're so right, Remy, we really are. That's what life's about, growing and learning and evolving. And not only evolving, learning, I'm like, you did just fine. - Okay, I think I'm going to go on a last minute sister trip with Ashley at the end of the month, and we are thinking of going to Santa Barbara, I do need to start planning some outfits though, because I want to be comfy, but I also want to be cute. And I recently discovered quince for go-to high fashion quality vacation essentials that I'll be packing for our Santa Barbara trip. If you guys have never heard of quince, quince is a factory direct brand that offers high quality products at affordable prices by partnering directly with top factories, quince cuts out the cost of the middleman and passes the savings on to us. If you guys watch the Asia Blogs relation, I were obviously in Tokyo and Seoul. I kept wearing this black t-shirt and this white t-shirt that I got from quince. I talked about them in the blogs. You guys, I am obsessed. I was, for some reason only wearing black and white on that trip, and I'm so glad my quince order came in right before we left, and I just threw them straight into my suitcase. They are incredible. It was really hot and humid where we were, and I wasn't even like getting super sweaty in them. Like they were cooling and comfortable, they're so perfect for the summer weather, the quality was insane. No, genuinely, I've never been so jealous, because while you were wearing those, I was like sweating like no other. I had sweaters. I had sweat stains and everything, I was just like, whoa, I did not pack the back. I packed okay for the trip. I could have packed way better. Again, compared to other luxury brands, you can see the breakdown of each item of quince's pricing and their competitor's prices. You'll be surprised how much you'll be saving, but still purchasing high quality pieces that will last you a long time. Quince only works with factories that use safe, ethical, and responsible manufacturing practices and premium fabrics and finishes. I love that. Pack your bags with high quality essentials from quince. Go to quince.com/basic for free shipping on your order and 365 day returns. That's q-u-i-n-c-e.com/basic to get free shipping and 365 day returns, quince.com/basic. The kiss isn't the typical first kiss, it's carnal and dirty and makes me excited for more. Oop. It can be hard finding a time to read and committing to a book that might just collect dust, but since your first 10 episodes of each story are free and you can read from your phone or tablet, you get all the benefits of reading without any of the discouragement by doom scrolling "Hello Sexy Vampires!" or "Meet Cutes!" or "Freedom from Monsters." Still kind of wondering what that's about. I actually just started reading Prep School Problems by Jillian Dodd. It's about a girl named Aubrey Arrington, who had her heart broken over the summer with her ex-guy best friend, Branson. She decided to run off to London, however her parents send her off to boarding school and she is already plotting to get kicked out of the posh boarding school everyone wants to get into. I don't want to share any spoilers, but it's so good. I'm not finished reading yet also, so please don't DM me any spoilers. But I will say I'm at the part where Branson is starting to miss her and she's receiving all these types from him. I won't go too much into it. I can't decide. Do I want them together or do I not? Like, I don't know. Also, one of my favorite things is I love to read the comments after each episode. I feel like I'm with my own little friend group chat talking and finding Easter eggs or like coming up with theories and you can read those directly from your device, which is so convenient when you're on the go or running errands or whatever and, you know, I need to figure out, like, are we team Branson or not? Another great part of Kindle Vella is I'm never really reading alone. The offer leaves notes throughout the story and I can even comment on each episode and talk with other readers about what's happening. It's easy to use, but the stories are hard to put down. If you're looking for short episodes, you can read in pockets of your day, download the Kindle app and scroll to the Kindle Vella tab and start reading for free. I can't believe the Surpin Queen season two is finally coming out. I really liked how the last season ended. So I'm ready to cuddle up with Rosie and Chloe and watch season two. Why does that sound like my perfect night in? If you love Samantha Morton and a true story about one of the most influential women in history, I just know you'll love it as much as I do. You mentioned that season one was so good and I need to finish up so I can watch season two along with you and we can debrief together after every episode. I like how the show has the true story element, but it's loaded with an attitude which you know I personally love. Oh, and we absolutely must debrief. Should I start planning a viewing party? Wait, you know, I'll bring the snacks. I'll bring the food, the drinks. We could do like a cute theme night that'd be so fun and have like themed, everyone brings their own drink. That'd be cute. Wait, I love that. If season one of the stars hit the Surpin Queen taught us anything about the Riegel and ruthless Catherine Demodice, it's that she'll do whatever it takes to hold on to power. And with the French court and chaos and her country torn apart by the rise of a new religious sect, her shrewd intellect and savvy will be tested like never before, with her son now King of France. In season two, the Surpin Queen is back and better than ever. Samantha Morton returns as Catherine Demodice, the newly anointed Queen region of France now that her son Charles IX has come of age. In season two finds the court engulfed in chaos as the geezes and Bourbons vie for control and the rise of Protestantism sparks tension across the country. As France falls into political and religious turmoil, Catherine struggles to maintain her power, which makes her more determined than ever to keep it. This already sounds like the drama I've been waiting for. Don't miss the season premiere of the Surpin Queen, July 12th, only on stars and the stars app. Yeah, anyway, wholesome weekend. We went and saw Legally Blonde, the musical. Legally Blonde. I've also been singing. Of course, I forget it a second. Anyways, our friends were in it. Wait, yeah. What? Okay. What musical act stuck out the most to you because I was trying to think that throughout the show? Well, I'm so glad you leaned over and told me about the jump row. Yes. I had no idea. Like, I'm glad you would literally lean over. We saw Legally Blonde the musical at a local theater because our friends were in it. I'd never seen that musical. And obviously, I love that movie, Iconic Reese, but there's been so amazing core movie if people haven't seen it. They're doing a prequel. Yes. And they said they were doing three, but they have made no strides, so speaking of prequel, or not prequel, but sequel, freaky Friday too, officially happening, Lindsay Lohan, Jamie Lee Curtis, iconic. It's all happening. It's all very exciting. It's healing. It is healing. I love it. The world is healing. But going back to Legally Blonde, we went and saw it. And there is the scene where they have all jump ropes. And Rem leans over to me and says, this is the, what did you say? This is like one of the hardest Broadway or musical numbers in general because whoever's playing Brooke, Wyndham, is singing her heart out. And then the whole cast as well as Brooke are doing choreography with a jump rope whilst singing. Sorry. When I jump rope, I'm like, oh, my God, out of breath. It is the one of the hardest workouts on top of. She's belting. She did soak. And this was like a smaller feeling. It wasn't like Broadway. You know what I mean? Like, this girl was so freaking talented. She could have been on Broadway. Yes. All of them. They were incredible. We went because Ryan and Paloma, AKA two thirds of 20, whatever. I know we have a lot of crossover on the pop team groups. We love you. Seize with them. We love you. Yes, we love them. I'm going to listen to 20, whatever. They're iconic. And we are big fans of all of their vlogs. And we wanted to support our friends slash fellow podcasters. And so they were performing in the show. Paloma literally played Elle Woods. She was the star. So good. And Ryan played Polar and who was like her best friend and sorority, one of the three best friends. And it was incredible. It was so good. So I feel like the jump rope scene obviously stuck out to me. But the song I kept singing was the name or is that my name and black and white? So much better. I think I'm with so much better girls. I don't know that. But I love that song. She did so good. I was so proud. And literally at the very end, we like wait for them. I'm so glad we like fought to do this. We were like, oh, we should get flowers or something. We're like, they'll probably get lots of flowers. So then Ryan was like, what if we get them base work bags that are in pink? We're like, oh my god, perfect. So we filled it up. We think obviously have to be pink. So we filled it up with some like PR and stuff. It was so good. Yeah. So they're having. So we wait for them after the show. We give them their gift. And then Paloma comes up and she's like sobbing. And I was like, soak up every moment. And she just, she literally was like, dude, I literally was going to give up theater. Like right before I was going to give up acting in theater, like right before this. And I was feeling so discouraged. And then she literally gets cast as Elle Woods and fucking killed it. And I was like, it's just especially the acting world. But I think a lot of jobs in general, especially in the creative field, like it's so easy to be so discouraged. And then around the corner, you get booked for something or like you get this hit huge break or musicians or actors or whatever, like it's so crazy how I don't like I was just like, soak up every moment like like you're so talented and same with I was just so cute watching besties too. Because I was like, that would literally be us know every time they were like together on the stage. I was like, I'm so excited for that. I know. They're so cute. It was. I like, I wish we could sing. No, I know. I wish we could because we would so be theater girl. Well, if we ever want to have a pretty basic live show, we technically could do a number. We could do the jump rope number. Could you fucking imagine? We're just like out of our sweating bullet, like we could. It just wouldn't be good. We do the meet and greet. And we're literally sweating like afterwards from from still the the jump rope like an hour before the special performance. I would. Oh my God. We say we okay guys special pretty basic live show with Remy and Alicia and special performance. The performance is us jump roping trying to sing a talent show. I would girls night in. I wish I could sing. 4.0. So badly. It was there at 3.0. There was a there was a third without you. Me and I were guests for like three shows. That's right. Yeah. Yeah, bring it back. We show girls night in. We really do. The way I would love to have a reunion with everyone on here. What would your talent be? My talent? Yeah. Other than. Sliving and slang. Yeah. Other than that. The talent would probably be what I did for the for the second one where we just read a top a mock table read and do a sketch. Was it like everybody else was in it or was it just you? No, it was everyone. But like you need your own solo shining moment. I mean I can tap dance. That's mine. Wait. I kind of love it. We could do a duet. Oh my God. That's all I want. I bring out a stripper pole like my talent. I'll sing and you dance. Oh my God. You can be Lana. No, no, you'll be Lana and I will be on the stripper pole in the back. You can be on a swing just swinging over the crowd. But you are a better singer than me. So I'll tap dance and you can sing. I feel like you're better though like specifically when you're drunk you suddenly have rain. I agree. Like when I'm drunk I sound so bad. I don't know what it is. Maybe you just try less and it just like angelically flows out of your mouth. Do you ever and have you ever and I hope the answer is yes. Have you ever tried to like record yourself while you're for me personally? It's usually when I'm driving you know it's late at night and I'm like wait I sound incredible right now. And you get home a little so fast. I'll pull over and I'll film. I've never pulled over. I'll be like I need a capture. I don't know if I'll ever sound this good again. And then you record it and then you hear it back you're like oh wait you're like you know what the mic is probably just the mic. It's like it's all these other influencers being singers who give me this hope that like I could do it too. See that gives me the it in the sense of like I refuse to just be another influencer who like wants to show that they can maybe carry a tune for a second. But like if you can you can if you got the chops you got the chops and I don't you know I I'm not gonna lie I have had that moment. Usually it's in my bathroom because good reverb when I know for a fact no one's in the house so they can't hear me and then I'll just start singing and then I'll record it and then like I even have an album in my phone saying no you don't yeah but it's it's like bad but I like keep it there because I'm like this is just funny to look at and usually I'm but I'm naked because I'm about to get in the shower so you don't see me but you just hear my voice I'll delete them after because I'm like oh I I kind of like saving them to be like she thought like there was one that the I have one of me trying to do the Beyonce Dubai riff okay we have to pick doable one I know but so it's just kind of funny it's like uh you know she thought like if I not you know how people have apps that are like locked for like sexy things I was just thinking that I haven't or my me trying to be Beyonce singing the Dubai riff but like you are a good singer I just think we need to pick pick attainable songs you know what yeah yeah and I do agree with that um like I feel like a Taylor Swift would be a little more attainable than the Beyonce Dubai yeah you but you know what go big or go home and I appreciate that and I appreciate that you appreciate that mm-hmm do you have anything in your phone that uh you don't want the world saying um honestly no I think I've said it I think I said it on wild till nine but I've never taken a sex in my life or like a photo the sorry me ever I know poor cow I've I've um I said one time in middle school I took a photo just one boot or not middle school sorry sorry not middle school high school um wait like it's just one simple boo was it really one I have so many questions was you brought on was it were you covering one was the nipple fully out full nipple out and I was like this will do it it's like this is gonna do it web MD is anybody else have the speckled spot that I should look out for yeah never other than that I've literally never um and yeah I probably like yeah it's good I don't have anything else like you got you got a man's you know what I mean I mean I mean unless that floats your boat you know how's away or something yeah no I haven't um so no I don't and I delete the songs I do oh see I have my songs and I would say that's number one on my list maybe some chats to really the way that you reacted to my sex it doesn't sound like I mean not I don't definitely don't have anything on this phone I deleted those right after I understand you know but they're somewhere in the world in the clouds somewhere someone did get it so well speaking of dating um I've come to the realization that most people come to at some point in their life I love the attention I'm being honest my dating app world has been killing it lately I don't know what it is but like the guys are finally initiating they're finally messaging like there was a moment a little dry spell I don't know if I like was in a weird algorithm or what but I think I got boosted or something I did finally update my photos that's incredible I'm excited like there's definitely there was a few oh my god there was a few where normally I would just be like oh no in the sense of a guy message he was like we I think we should make out and I was like ew is that your really is that your opening line did I love the attention yes but I didn't reply but I still loved the attention of course that's what dating apps and I was like there are four that's your opening line that I think we should make out literally so I'm like obviously I'm not going to entertain that because no yeah over dinner over drinks I pictured us like at a nice dinner over a meal maybe maybe if you aren't it you know it bothers me and I'm so curious everyone's opinion on this and granted I've never been this couple so maybe maybe it's a euphoric feeling that I've never experienced okay I despise when couples sit on the same side of the booth I the way that I knew you're gonna say that you said dinner yes I hate it I don't it doesn't bother me but it it is a little strange especially the like not the big circle not the big circle that like it's like a couch and like that's better but when it's so often you yeah when it's a big you obviously yeah yeah yeah yeah but when it's the type of booth where it's like oh they went out of their way to sit on the same side and then oh my god we were at dinner I forget what restaurant we were at I want to say it was like Magiano's or something love and there was a couple in this like they're like eating and then they're just like making out he's like kissing her net and I was like this is too much that's too much over the fried zucchini so exactly the lots are realistic just stop yeah so part of me is like I don't know if what when I hear people say like oh they're romantic that's the type of person I picture and I'm like I'm definitely not that I love PDA but not like that yeah that's a little much for sure I'm like especially at Magiano's that's what I'm saying people are trying to either buy one take one home exact the way you took the words out of my mouth um needless to say I've been loving the attention part of me wonders is it because summer's here oh my god maybe everyone in their hot girl boy summer era fuck let's kiss at dinner so do out at dinner part of me is like whoa maybe they're are they all fuck boys because it's summer now and they just want to have like a fun but also that's why I was just gonna say I don't think that's a bad thing I don't either but I was just aware you know how you know how they say like ice cream sales obviously go up in summer and they also say if you get ice cream on a cruise ship someone died exactly part of me is wondering is it just summer hibernations over I know winter's canceled no it's the fact that it was 90 degrees when I was driving over here yeah it's been really hot I mean I think that's amazing I think that you should have fun and go out and date and make out if you want to make out yeah consensually and not sex because sexting is bad oh I mean do whatever you want do whatever you want whatever you want this summer of alicia we already decided summer of losh to be honest summer it's a summer of losh losh is gonna go out we went to dinner the other night and uh we were saying you know like what do you want for this summer and alicia's gonna date that waiter was really hot Ian was that his name yeah oh my god he was so hot he was really nice he was like why are you on the dating app I keep saying abs um he definitely was like a model though you could tell he was though is that not acceptable no no it's fine but you know like the stereotypical I came to LA to like have my big break as a model or an actor here's the thing though if you go to any of the listed establishments within LA catch no boo uh crags you're right any of the above they will be hot and they will be either on the side of being a waitress and or waiter and or there's this also hustlers like you gotta do it you gotta you gotta make you gotta pay fucking rent actor model whatever exactly and I think that it's we should respect the hustle and yes he was uh very handsome you can't say that you're engaged you're so right I told I call it Cal on the way home yeah I was swiping on Alicia's dating app for her and Alicia he came over and he's like what are you guys doing and then we'd like explained it Alicia was telling him uh Remi met her fiancee on hint and he was like oh that's so cool and then he like laughed and came back and he was like wait did you say fiance because I'm just sitting scroll on her phone she's like she was about to tell on me and I was like it's for her and he was like oh okay sounds good and I called a Cal on the way home and he's like oh my god we should go and ask for him and then Cal could be like did you see her doing anything like housing is seen oh my god not me thinking you were gonna go to hook like it to like be like hey like for me oh that well would you like me too sure okay I can do that as well he literally didn't reference anything about him until today so I didn't know we just came from the legally blonde we just came from the legally blonde show yes you all he and I are all in pink and I have no makeup on right and this guy's like oh it's like what's the best dating app like what do you recommend and I'm like if I looked somewhat cute I would probably entertain this but beautiful I just pictured all three of us in matching pink I had a little headband I like I was just so aware I was like oh you know what I think you should have gone for it you know I told Alicia how she needs to act moving forward is everybody is it obsessed with you everyone's in love with you you need to walk in and be like oh my god pick of the litter what do I want confident yes and what's funny is and I said this last episode when you know you're asking me questions and stuff like obviously if you listen to this podcast it sounds like I think that way but the whole joke in my head is that like I don't so it's funny when I'm like oh my god people are obsessed with me but the real viewers know the basic besties get it like we would go out in our single days Alicia would walk in with her head down I'm like you have to head up everyone that's listening right now that's trying to date this summer and you're gonna have your own hot girl summer you have to walk into these places head up shoulders back confidence I contact they wish they could have you they wish and now I've learned because of my like posture in my back I just naturally look down I remember having an aha this is so embarrassing I remember having an aha moment because I remember you would walk in you would be like I want him and you'd go up to this guy and I'd be like how does she do it like how the fuck does she do it meanwhile I finally hit me I was like dude my posture so bad I just naturally like my eye line floor and then on top of that I didn't know I needed contacts for the longest time I couldn't see anyone so I feel like I learned how much my social anxiety came from just not being able to see so I never knew if people were looking at me and then I was probably trying to make eyes with someone not even looking at them you're like making eyes it's a cardboard yeah or it's like like like a foot away from them like oh my god needless to say we're working on it walk in shoulders back yeah head up confidence he wishes and he might get it but it's my choice yeah yeah yeah that's how we're gonna walk in 101 this is really good confidence not cockiness no fine line you don't be rude but in your mind you're like whatever I want the world is my oyster the world is literally your oyster you get the the cream of the crop the cream of the crop the cream always rises yeah it does anyway speaking of theater and all the theater things like I would like to have a conversation about what constitutes you as a a fan of something because while I'm going into this as I was thinking throughout the whole show like wow I love this I'm having such a fun time but am I a theater girl like what constitutes me as a theater girl which then led my brain into what constitutes me as a swiftie oh because this is a conversation that is is being had and Cal and I had a bit of a discussion this morning did you see the Dave Grohl and the Taylor Swift of it all no he was on stage and kind of made a little jab at Taylor Swift dude everyone does I know and I think in conclusion from my conversation with Cal this morning men need to stop coming after women that first of all yeah that's my my lasting sentiments but he was like basically just like throwing shaded her about not performing live or or something like that and which I was confused by because doesn't she perform live yeah but there's definitely like background tracks she's not lip singing but there's definitely like I think that's what he was saying that's what Cal was saying like yeah background tracks versus just being fully 100% okay but I'm sorry like try doing a three hour show with that much choreography and choreography also like that's so standard and normal like yes but she's definitely singing live that's what I was thinking that's why they usually pitch it like if you notice all the songs are usually like a maybe a half octave lower so it's like easier to sing as that long the concerts they usually pitch it a little different interesting really yeah and you wouldn't do that if you were lip singing like hello no she's absolutely live but theater girl like we love the theater at what point are you a theater girl you know what I mean this is the same thing as Swiftie I'm like I love Taylor Swift but because like I've come on this podcast and been like I'm a Swiftie or I thought I was but then I see like Swifties online and I'm like okay I'm maybe I'm not I'm gonna be honest though I do think the Swiftie category is a whole other level because like I do think there's extreme sweat like there's there's Swiftie levels there's Swiftie rankings you know you're so right about that because in the end like someone's always more obsessed than you or stuff like just because someone can go or even physically go or financially afford to go to multiple shows doesn't mean they're a better Swiftie than someone who can't afford to go to a show so real I do think you it's like you almost get like three stand cards in your life it's like who are those people you know what I mean like are you a Selena Nader or whatever I know she hates that name or are you a nader she hates that name yeah like you can't be a die hard for every single person because to be a die hard means you put them over like everyone else who are your three cards oh my god see I would say Taylor Swift for sure yeah I would say Taylor I would say Lana uh-huh I would say who would be my third like there's definitely people I really fucking love like their music but like would I wait to like what I wait hours to watch them perform you know like that's another thing that's a big that's a good indication if you're like a life or not who would be my third I know I'm forgetting someone um oh you really would you say um what's Jack Antonop's band Bleachers would you say that I would say I thoroughly enjoy but I'm not like I would like take a bullet for you okay let's figure this out for you let me look at my like you know what else I also love a lot of oh there is a lot of bleachers wow I have a lot of like one-off shots jack Antonop I know I'm thinking between the correlation of the ones you said but I wouldn't count myself like a I wouldn't like I don't know a jackinator I know I'm like what's there a bleach a jackhammer jackhammer yeah I don't know what about you Ari obviously I'm trying to think of like the the three that I've like whose concert would you go to and dress up for I think that's a big I'm thinking also like you know that feeling of just watching everything they do obsessing about everything that they do getting so excited for like literally any little like timid they give you and I've only felt that for like a few people in my life Ariana for sure like again back to the Swifty conversation I love Taylor Swift and did I go to opening night yes and did I have an amazing time yes but have I listened to any um TTPD like I listened to like a few but like didn't finish that still have not listened to folklore evermore I mean I think she's kind of in a whole different category which is why she's get so much hate from people because she's just on a whole other level like like will I take red to the gray with me yeah yeah am I a 50 this is the conversation well I think so I think you would defend her to someone shit talking her like a cow not cow like a cow this morning like a cow or like a you know name he wasn't shit talking her he was just like uh you know it sparks conversations that and I was like no because why is he coming after her no like she wow I do my three Ariana Grande twice oh yeah for how about groups I think I'm just like the people that I've literally watched everything that they've put out interviews music videos any sort of like variety show like it's twice and then the other group that I've ever felt or the person or whoever that I've ever felt like this obsession with but it was a group called sister who I was like obsessed oh my god that they expanded but it's like wanting to consume everything that they do yeah no like this is a good conversation because again just because like there's some people who don't like wearing the merch or like going to the meetups yes but there that doesn't make them any less of a swiftie or something there's also a very swiftie specifically because we've never really seen like a fan group like since like the fucking Beatles or like Michael Jackson even that I mean I guess we weren't nearly as aware because obviously social media blew it up but like there's definitely an unhealthy Swiftie and then there's which I'm scared to say that there's a line between being like a healthy respectful and then there's definitely a line where it's like a little about a little scary so yeah I think a lot of celebrities are like yeah I think there's a lot where it's like it's like their whole being or like um oh my god um yeah even when people like dress up as them like like like they change who they are to be them oh that's scary that that's a whole conversation I would be if I was like Taylor Swift and I saw someone who purposely dressed up as me and like pretended to Ashley fuck that shit that was scary fuck that shit or the girls that do Ariana that like she's locally been like please stop like there's it there's such a scary but I think that's that line of inspired versus like copying yeah and then like like and it's different to dress up for the show but like as you're dated like that's just fucking weird yeah I think also there's also in my opinion no I mean there's that one girl in TikTok that like Ariana's been like please like this scares me and she continues to do it that one was weird and then you're like okay like obviously they're doing it for like likes and views and clicks and all that kind of stuff but like I'm sorry like that would devastate me if my idol said that about me I would be like oh I think there's also like a good line of you can be a huge huge huge huge fan of someone but also like not blindly support them always like there are certain things like maybe I don't that I haven't always agreed with with Ariana or with people from twice or you know like there's always as much as I love them I can also be like I don't know if I agree with that yeah Alicia it's officially summer you know how I've been wanting to step outside my comfort zone when it comes to style and you are my fashionista so I need feel like I'm not a theater girl but I love the theater but like also there's a line where it's like maybe I'm not a theater girl where like I live eat and breathe it but I can appreciate it you know like you can appreciate like an art show but it doesn't mean you're like an artist you know what I mean I think also the thing that's holding me back from being a theater girl is my lack of talent oh no yes absolutely I'm telling you if I could sing I would try to be in a show okay but Rem if I was just a background person and I didn't have one line and I just danced which would you say I'm no less of a theater girl you're so right thank you you're so right yeah because there were people in that show that were dancers who were incredible or even people behind the stage is what like brings just as important exactly the background like doing hair or makeup like groanish you are me you are literally an actor you are so right speaking of groanish on the legally bond stage you know there's a scene where Elle's getting ready to go out on her date with Warner where he's gonna propose or she thinks he's gonna propose and all the sorority girls like line up to you know spray her hair put her blush on they handed her a condom it was really funny and when the girl did the hair spray I noticed she didn't spray it because that is what one background person would normally do yes yeah and again we're learning and growing and if you know the groanish episode then you would know I learned and I grew from that are one and I'm not going to say only acting experience but maybe the last one of our future who knows we were invited to the wait I think it was so funny we were invited to the seat because the show wrapped as like a whole series series it was a series finale so they had the the rap show which is basically like hey we're gonna have one last part not show rap party which like everyone involved of the show comes and has like one last party together you know especially working on a set for so long you become like family with a lot of these people and I just thought it was so comical that we were invited to this rap party because we were cameos in one episode I didn't know that but so nice of them and why didn't we go we were asked and it was like fill this form out for a gift and I was like I'm not gonna fill this out I'm like I don't think I deserve this email but I wish we had gone we would have taken up space for someone that deserved to be there but like I mean obviously we deserve we got the invite but more than anything imagine if we went they'd be like okay you had one line and they cut your line anyway like and you came to the rap party like what um if you haven't watched it you got I forget what the title of the episode is called their island is that what it's called I believe so I think it's episode eight right um I'm not sure I forget go search Remy Cruz Alicia Marie um groanish episode and please go watch our episode to see us to see the episode we had one line and it got cut but you know what again that airtime was much more deserved for a real actress you know what's so humbling being on set day in and day out and uh getting so excited to watch your episode only to find out you were cut no like I you weren't good enough it was so funny delivery I just kept thinking about Corey Baxter wow that was such a good time oh my oh my god um can you talk about the story what your aunt told us because I thought about last night I was trying to go to bed and I was like oh my god I feel like someone recently told me this crazy story about a woman who gave birth and then it hit me I was like oh my god we were together about my cousin yes oh yeah I know talk about it I find twins so interesting oh same I think that twins triplets called drooplets quintuplets whatever sex toplits optimum so interesting did you ever watch john and k plus eight no oh it was so good oh my god and then it was crazy all of a sudden um I also saw a tiktok the other day that said that women with PCOS are more inclined to have twins or triplets can you imagine me that dude I would be holding your belly oh my god it would be crazy all to say I have cousins who are twins and my aunt who was in korea when we were in korea was talking to us and I was asking her because like we all obviously grew up together we were all together all the time and so now while we're at the age where you know kids are more of a conversation I was asking her about the delivery of the twins and they look identical but they're fraternal my twins they're my twins my cousins do um and I think that's so intriguing to the idea fraternal or identical I know nikki and gabby are identical right I believe so but they look very different obviously because of their their different styles and things which I think is just I just think it's so interesting I love learning about twins all to say um my cousins are identical but they look nope they're fraternal but they look identical and my aunt was saying because I was like what's the time the the difference age difference between them or time difference and you know normally with twins it's two minutes seven minutes 15 minutes there's always the one twin who's like I'm older by three minutes yes which is true and and it's true so when she's to some degree this is the craziest story I've ever heard she is their 45 minutes apart and I was like wow was it 45 hour yeah it was literally like 45 minutes or something I was like well that's like a really big difference for twins like that's interesting and she was like yeah what had happened was she gave birth to my first cousin vaginally naturally and is that what it is naturally yeah and then uh something happened with my second cousin the other twin and she ended up needing to go in for a c-section so she not only gave birth vaginally and she also got a c-section I was like oh double recovery that sounds horrible I've never heard anything like that in my life but it makes sense that that's very plausible I'm sure it's more common than we think yeah but I can't even imagine like to give birth both ways I really just thought about the recovery yeah like that sucks so recovery is hard enough on either of those alone let alone together and my humans my cousins are twins obviously but they have an older brother and older sister so there's four of them so imagine coming home recovering from a c-section and giving birth naturally and having four kids now I can't imagine superhero I just can't imagine when when I so any as I did the thing that we always do I was telling someone I was like oh my god I heard this recently or like maybe I saw a TikTok I was like no I was told this by Remy and her aunt and we were together and that actually happened in real life that's so crazy and I was just like that is insanity by poor aunt I mean she's she looks great she's kicking she looks amazing the twins are doing great things all the kids are doing great things they're amazing but it is just so I don't know I love hearing birth stories it's different because when you're young and you hear like yeah that's guys I don't want to know about it and then you get older and you're like wait like what also a lot of it's genetic so it it like and I like for instance when my mom because my mom was adopted I remember her being like yeah I wish I could have asked my mom what you know cravings she had or like what how her birth went you know like all her story about it because a lot of things are genetic and a lot of times it emulates you know how your mom was so wow I didn't know that but damn so because of that I feel like my mom has been very open with Ashley and I of like oh yeah you guys both turned sunny side up at the last minute like just so you know go on all fours that's how you can fix it like in case you have the same thing because obviously like it can just be very common whatever problems your mom has that you can have or not you know or not but I remember like so she's always been very vocal about like how her birth story was with everything and I still think it's crazy that she drove herself to the hospital when she was 10 centimeters dilated with me crazy she would she like to me was Courtney Kardashian pulling the baby out of the womb like that she would have she purposely like it crazy so insane now being older I appreciate her stories more and also other people like I remember talking to your mom and I was like so interested in hearing her story because I'm just like dude like it's crazy like you can just like have a baby like you literally can birth human life yes it's insane also like I am in full support of every dude everyone doing what they want to do I think that like water births are crazy I would do a water burn I know you would and I think it's so like I think it's so cool but also so crazy that people are doing that you know my speaking of twins though she's like my aunt she's not my blood aunt but she's like my aunt her she has twins and they're both pregnant at the same time they married brothers that's so wild and one of the daughters had her little boy over the weekend oh he's here and he's healthy and like and um and it was super easy and and everything was good and smooth but it's crazy because obviously the identical twins married brothers so the cousins are gonna look like siblings well they share the DNA yeah which is crazy so they share 50 percent DNA yeah oh wait or whatever that is yeah boy yeah it's like weird it's crazy like if they were twins marrying twins I would be crazy and I remember when I was in high school my best friend's mom and her sister married two brothers so she it was the same idea they weren't twins but it was like two sisters married two brothers and I'm like that has to be so weird to be like the second one getting married where it's like this feels illegal it's like uh but it feels like it it's like Serena and Dan being yes oh my god oh wow you're so right that is so injured wait I would love to know exactly like a percentage of how much they share genetic makeup you know well and I'm excited for um the other daughter to have her baby um I think they're coming in like a few months I don't think we know the gender yet but they're gonna look like like both twins the kids are gonna look like twins even though they're not they're like gonna be really close and genetic makeup whoa so I know crazy that is really interesting crazy have you listened to Gracie Abrams new album not all the way through but I listened to us it's really us is oh my god it's so good it's really good it's really good and I was telling my vlog this this morning I was like I remember when I first heard Gracie even when we saw her open for Taylor I was like oh my god was I there oh you weren't there oh I was like have I seen her before did I remember that was the the night you didn't go okay um she amazing she was so good I remember being like well I'm really happy we came early so we can like see this um because she was so good and she had a few songs that I really loved but I feel like the way that obviously like she's friends with Taylor now which is crazy I even saw a TikTok that was like a match and being Gracie Abrams like she literally saw like 1989 tour as a fan and then opens for Taylor Swift and then continues to open for Taylor Swift then writes a song with Taylor Swift and then Taylor Swift is literally on her album no it's and she never does features it's crazy I it's really crazy I think about that like with Sabrina Carpenter Olivia of Rodrigo which I don't know whatever happened with them but like yeah whatever happened at some point I'm sure it was so cool for them to be acknowledged by like their biggest eye oh my god totally I saw this really funny video of it was um Gracie opening I think it was Kimmel I think it was Kimmel and she was performing on Kimmel and someone panned over and her dad who's JJ Abrams obviously is like filming her on his just being a dad and it was really cute because it was like they're like he's definitely filming in cinematic mode oh my god okay but the way I know I'm not the only one I had no idea she was JJ Abrams daughter until you told me maybe a couple months ago really I had no idea and I was like Nepo baby I was at its finest but at least she's talented you know what I mean she's very talented yes and then I was just thinking like beautiful there are so many times I'll be like a fan of someone or like they kind of become new in my life you know they maybe they have a an acting career or music career for a while but like in my life I'm like oh there's this new person blah blah blah and I think they're just some random person and then I find out they're a Nepo baby I'm like what the Nepo babies run deep honestly I want to look up most look up that one article on that one magazine I think it was like the Hollywood reporter someone who did the Nepo baby magazine Nepo babies you didn't know and it's so interesting the whole Nepo baby conversation so interesting because it's seeing how society reacts to certain Nepo babies and others and seeing how Nepo babies themselves react to being Nepo babies like there is such a formulaic way now to respond and then to see people not doing that just confuses me I think it comes down to like well if they actually have talent it's like fine for sure well they should be they have to be talented and then also acknowledge the privilege yeah the position that you're in um another one for me I remember this was a while ago I already knew it but when Sophia Richie when I put together that Lionel Richie is her dad I was like oh my god yeah that was crazy that was crazy Dakota Johnson is a really crazy one Nicholas Cage oh really Nick Cage is a time traveling vampire real there are people looking up at his clone of his father August Copola the brother of godfather director Francis Ford and uncle of Sophia yeah no way Nicholas Cage yeah that's crazy see what's crazy too is when actors purposely change their last name so they don't get jade like so people don't is it his mom or his dad his dad so Nicholas Cage is his stage name I guess that's great august copola he's a copola Sophia copola yeah yeah yeah yeah actress and filmmaker yeah Sophia's so their cousins that's it whoa whoa I didn't know that he's shalomay yeah but his parents like there's also within the nipple baby world like there's like your parents are big celebrities or they're like behind the scenes producers or somewhere I think his parents are like more behind the scenes right yeah his uncle directed episodes of Dawson's Creek Gilmore Girls and the OC oh wow well his writer producer ant has worked on hits like LA law and treatment and masters of sex obviously the neppo baby the OG neppo baby Emma Roberts oh my god I like she's maybe I'll change my mind one day sorry if you want her on the podcast she's someone who I've always wished I could like and I just don't really yeah and maybe it's just because some of the roles she's played are very like and to me and I I don't I'm not like a huge huge fan don't work but I loved the show on fabulous back in the day oh I didn't watch that it was but to me that screamed neppo baby like that screamed that she got that show because of her air yeah because she wasn't very good and she's gotten much better throughout the years for sure but to me that is like a very emblematic situation of nepotism and even when you compare I watched the Miley Cyrus um another neppo baby yes I watched her she was on David Letterman's show my next guest needs no introduction or whatever and she was explained she was like yeah like hearing her story and she was obviously she's a neppo baby because of her dad it was really interesting though like hearing how humble and even her like not getting Hannah Montana at first and then going back and blah blah whatever like all of that just felt more deserved also she crushed Hannah Montana oh totally she she was so good in that oh Zoe Kravitz is another one for sure yes like I remember watching her in um uh big little lies and I was like oh my god this new indie actor who like needs recognition and then I look and I was like oh my god she's a Kravitz like what that's crazy or like uh Maya Hawk Maya Hawk huge one Jennifer Aniston her father was on days of our lives like it just puts everything into perspective like it's create Maddie Healy oh Denise Welch was born into fame his mom is an actress and panelists on loose women Denise Welch also I think it's interesting who are neppo babies or who's on that list but have completely surpassed the fame up their relative I think that's the like overall like even Miley like I would say her being like for sure she's more famous than Billy Ray was but it's it's cool I don't know it's like so crazy even Dolly being her godmother though and go oh my god right going back to like Gracie I'm like wow like I had no idea but I kind of love that like I don't know if oh my god literally her next on the list is fucking crazy JJ Abrams Star Wars director I just remember I did a in film school I did a report on him he was my I got assigned him so I had to do a report on him is he nice I have no idea he directed like Noah in the arc oh okay I mean that was the movie I had to go watch in theaters it was really cute watching him be a dad in that video oh I bet holding his phone landscape mode okay all these other ones are like very obvious one they're big ones that come to my mind yeah uh Georgia May Jack there's a lot of models on here like obviously McJagger's daughter oh um who's the really big one that was in Daisy Jones and six is that what the show was Lottie Moss dude it would be hard to be the daughter of like a fucking supermodel Kaya Gerber yeah sit up every time though she is so good Robert Downey Jr yes yes yes yes wait that's crazy because the story with him I always think of when he was like bankrupt and like had no money or like was in jail or something this is where rumors get started I just remember his story was very like it seemed like he had nothing at one point which he may have obviously or maybe his parents like Robert Downey Jr yeah what was his story he uh when they cast him as Iron Man the original one they were really taking a chance on him because he had publicly like really struggled with drugs and I think like money and things like that and so they took a big gamble on him he like obviously oh my god Riley Kio oh his uncle was a writer on Saturday Night Live oh and his um okay wow his father I wonder if they like got him cut off Ben Platt the fog yo yeah his well that's why he got cast that's the whole thing and um his dad was a producer through the wind what's that song um or what dear Evan Hansen yes his dad is like producer and so that's why he got cast in the movie and people were like this man is like 30 why is he playing a high schooler oh wow wow Scott Eastwood obviously Clint Eastwood wow my old neighbor Patrick Schwarzenegger oh my god I forgot you were I remember being like we can't say you're his neighbor because people can like look it up and blah blah blah whatever he was very nice that time that I asked him oh my god he's a very nice guy at Coachella yes that's the one weird thing about LA is like you like you just never know who's in your apartment building I mean do I regret saying something yes but he was very nice about it it's okay he forgot I'm sure yeah he never thought about it again he's like that was weird and walked away no literally oh my god um I love that shit I can research that stuff forever oh I know you got to read that article it was like the whole magazine yeah crazy okay wow well anyway I feel like if people made it to the end this time they should comment their favorite nepo baby yes I agree who's your favorite? Miley for sure I do love Miley I think mine's Dakota Johnson really I like her she's funny she's in on the joke remember one time when she was at our gym was she oh my sorry her mom was oh yeah yeah yeah just not her though I wish she was there her mom was very nice mom was so nice yes I forget what she was talking to me about she's an icon too I remember she left and then our trainer was like you know how that was and I was like no and then he's like how do you not know like she is huge she's an icon and then I was like that's just so it's so crazy when like my kids are probably gonna be like who's Britney Spears I'm like oh I sure there's gonna be an oops I did it again like cover and I'm gonna be offended that they think it's the original song I'm like you need to be educated I'm gonna be like we're homeschooling you you need to be educated we get murphin we get murphin Evan and bring away for a whiteboarder presentation anyway um wow well thank you guys so much for listening to another episode of pretty basic we love you so much make sure to come back to our channel subscribe to the youtube channel if you haven't already we post episodes every Wednesday and we'll catch you guys next week love you bye bye please note that this episode may contain paid endorsements and advertisements for products and services individuals on the show may have a direct or indirect financial interest in products or services referred to in this episode.
