Think first day of practice 21st, so we that makes it 12 days away. Or you'll start a three game series against the Cubs tonight, perfect time to talk to our buddy, Todd Carver, which covers the Ravens for Baltimore Sports.com, the O's for press box and Carp. Thanks is always for joining us. So we're exactly three weeks away from the trade deadline. I'm checking the pulse. Everyone we talked to or you wise, are you expecting them to be aggressive? I do. I tell you right now it's hot down here, man. We're the highest days I've ever covered. Oh, yeah, I do. I do expect them to trade. I don't expect them to be overly aggressive because I don't think they're going to they're going to part. They're going to part with so many process. There's guys who are untouchable. I do think they're going to try to grab a starter who can, you know, because right now that they think that fifth spot, you know, between Cape Pearl, which in urban, you know, it's it's tenuous. You know what those guys are going to give them. So they got to add a starting picture. And I think, you know, they can do they can get by with, you know, on the level bullpen got, but yeah, I think they're going to be aggressive with the starter. I just think I'm going to add some bullpen help. Todd, how surprised were you when the Orioles only got three all-stars? I was surprised. But, you know, some of the younger that, you know, when the players sort of heard of the guys, those young guys, they've been around a long time, you know, that guy's like Westbrook, but they're kind of going to come. You know, I thought, I won't surprise the three guys. I thought they were going to get bored in that. You know, I thought, you know, I thought, you know, I thought, you know, a Kimball was a guy who definitely should have got in and, you know, and in crazy Rodriguez, you know, he's tied for the Major League lead with wind. He's another guy. I should have got it. Both the other guys got it. You know, I'm in trouble with great integration. So, yeah, I was a little bit surprised that way. Some of the older guys though, and I think the time's going to come. I thought, I think, you know, you know, the players already know them yet. But, yeah, I still think there's also a chance these guys can still make it as alternate. But, yeah, I think, you know, the Orioles roster, that's going to change in years to come as far as the number of all-star players. Well, Corbin Burns is going to be at the all-star game. What do you give his chances at starting the all-star game? Maybe the first Orioles to start a game since 1980. It was just so-- Steve Stone? Yeah. So, Shah Youngyear. Yeah, I think, you know, guys, Shah hadn't said Luka or the good guys who were, you know, the, what's your guys who could be the stars, you know, Kimball? And also, Burns, you know, he's going to be at some rest here. So, that's also going to play into it because he's not pitching this weekend. Probably not pitching this weekend against the Yankees. He's pitching tomorrow. So, yeah, I think it's a really good shot as far as the way he falls on a rotation. And it was before us this year. I think he's a guy who will be in the Shah Young conversation also at the end of the season. Talking to Ty Carver, which is inside access here on the family. Let's follow up on Burns a little bit. The Orioles could have chosen to pitch him tonight and then again on Sunday, getting two starts out of him before the break. I saw the Cubs originally at him and Naga pitching tonight, but moving tomorrow, same reason. So, we could pitch in the all-star game. Are you a little surprised, like, priority-wise, wouldn't you want to get two starts out of your ace before the break? He would be ineligible to pitch in the all-star game, but I guess that's what he wants to do. Well, six, we're running high, talks 345. We're going to answer that. That's definitely, that's definitely, you know, the Yankees series is huge. Every average game at the Yankees now is going to be big because of the division. Yeah, we're going to have to bring a height about the end of that. We'll go over an hour. Ty, what are your expectations for Dean Kramer tonight coming off a great first start off the IL? He's been up and down, you know, the entire year, he's been really good. He's been hit a little bit. I think I think you got to have a good start. We'll see how long he left in his heat, because I suppose he's been 90s, that first pitch. But, yeah, Dean Kramer, how about you throw into a pitcher? I think he's getting better. He's developing. I think he'll give us, he can give us, he can give the world, you know, six, six innings. I have to be really happy about that. Carp, I thought today would have been a perfect day to call Kobe Mayo up. Coming off the off day, we heard Michael Elias a little over a week ago talking like he's on the tip of our tour. He's on the tip of our tongues. He's very close. When do you think we're going to see Kobe Mayo? I think we'll see a post-all start break, pretty soon. I think you're going to make some moves. I think they're going to be really aggressive in the second half of this season, as you started to do the stretch runs with a playoffs. They're going to put their best line up there. They're going to put the best players in the roster. Now, I'm going to worry about hurting feelings. I think, um, I've already got a plan here over the second half of the season. And I think Harry Myers, part of it. Todd, something that the Orioles have been doing recently is this platoon with Heston Kirsten and Austin Hayes. A ton of success. They've had 54 played appearances, 375 batting average. I would assume this is going to continue. Yeah, that's working for him exactly. Of course, that's really coming on. He showed a lot of raw power. The second time he called me showing more confidence in the plate. But yeah, and this is all to take some of the pressure on me a little bit, you know, as far as we're having to play every day. But yeah, I like the way I like the way I hide is balancing those two. I think we're going to see that move before because the Orioles have a, they have a surplus in the outfielders. So that all these guys have got to hit. They're going to find themselves in the bench. Well, well, Carp and we're talking to Ty Carpovich. Where does that leave Colton Calzer? And could you see a scenario where Colton Calzer is dealt at the deadline? I think there's a chance of an eager package. And with a couple, with a couple prospects, you get some good return. Because Colton Calzer has a huge upside, but again, the Orioles, you know, they have a surplus the outfitters. They got to make some decisions here. But there's only so many spots, I mean, games guys can play. But yeah, I think that's on the table. We're speaking to Todd Carpovich. It's inside access on the fan. Todd, let's get to the Ravens. Mark Schlerith, he was on the show last week talking about his comments. Lamar failing to develop receivers. What did you think of Mark's comment? It was a really polarizing comment. Oh, man. Yeah. I mean, it's not really Lamar's jacket to the developer, he's got to get on the ball. I mean, Lamar Jack has got to figure out his own stuff and learn the offense and understand the game plan and understand the playbook. I don't think it's Lamar Jack to develop the receivers. He's got to get on the ball. But these guys also, they had to play the way into a football game. He's the first round pick. He's got to play better. He's got to play better. He's got to play better. He's got to have a huge first last year. I think I'm going to second year or even better year. But yeah, I think I think he'll snap a little bit of a critical Lamar. And I tell you what, it's the way it's going to be. I feel Lamar Jack, when he's a Super Bowl, he's going to be a guy who's going to be something critical because he's done everything else in his career. Now you have to win the big one. So how confident are you in this group of wide receivers as we enter training camp? Carba Rashad Bateman just was watching video of him working out. And obviously year two is they flowers. Aguilar, back. What do you think? I think they're going to be a champion to see a lot of two tight end sets. Yeah, I think they're two best players are likely and Andrew's. And they're likely to play with a wide receiver. So I think it's going to be interesting to see what Tom won't get done with these guys. And again, you know, they got Derek Henry in the back field who might get 300 Gary's. So they're going to run. They're still going to be a running team. Lamar Jackson, a dual quarterback who can also run. So the thing is these receivers, they got to make the most of their opportunities when they get target. But I think they'll be okay the way the Ravens are going to run this offense. Todd, how do you handicap the AFC North today? I think Dangle's Ravens Brown Steelers right now just because it's your borough. But that could slip. I think the Ravens got. I think the Ravens do it the best starting lineup. I just think that the depth is a little bit of an issue right now, a little bit of challenge to me and add some players. But yeah, we'll see how the Bengals bounce back with your borough being healthy. But again, you know, it helped the factor in the Steelers. You know, they got two and a quarter back. So that goes in the brown, but their defense will be really good. If America was their offense could do. So right now, you know, the Bangles and the top of the vision. By the way, the Steelers have two quarterbacks. But do you trust either of them? No, I know I have to say, but the one-year deal could basically be on one-year deals. We'll see. I lost the rules and it's got to be a bounce back year for him. So we'll see. I tell you what, the nearest quarterback situation could be worse than it has been the past couple of years. Todd, you mentioned Joe Burrow. Joe Burrow on a podcast recently was talking about the possibility of an 18-game season. Two bi-weeks, one will be week 13, and he thinks they should do the Pro Bowl festivities that week. Do you like Joe Burrow's idea? I think so. I think that NFL, I think they can support up a few little bit more, 18 games, you know, get the Super Bowl until Monday, the holiday, when people get off, that would be fantastic. You know, of course, they're probably going to lose another preseason game, but now you enjoy practices, though. You know, so what's the difference? I think you get more of the joint practices with the starters playing than they do in the preseason games where the starters don't play, you know, but yeah, I think you're removing that way where the NFL definitely will stretch out the season because again, you build revenue and also you get guys more time off, you avoid injuries. Todd Carpovich covers the Ravens from BaltimoreSports.com, the O's for press box. Carp, thank you as always for your time. Try to stay cool down there. Appreciate guys. Thank you. Thanks so much.
