I ended up going two for four base hits on his first two pitches. He saw a double and a single addict. Fantastic. It bat against a hunter goddess in the eighth inning, a 13 pitch at bat that ended in a flyout. But two for four last night, we wonder how often he's going to play. Well, they face a lefty tonight and he is not in the line up as the Orioles are going with Austin Hayes in left field. Do you foresee? And we talked a little about this yesterday, but is Hester Stadt going to play more often than not for the foreseeable future? Well, let me answer your question with the question, I guess, Ken. Going back to Rita Hubbard. Yeah, that's the Uno reverse card. They're playing right there. Did they bring Hester Stadt up to possibly showcase him? Like what Rita was saying. It wouldn't surprise me. Remember, I told you guys on air that when he went down, when he went down, I didn't get to play another oil game or uniform again. And this is another way to showcase him as a guy's got a near 1000 OPS in the minors. Let him come up here and do some things in the major leagues. It does create it. It makes his value even more because he's doing it against Major League pitching. Yeah, I could see that. I could absolutely see that. I think so too. And I think I get him not being a lineup, but it's no surprise with them going up against the lefty. He'll be back in the lineup tomorrow when the guardians throw a righty out there. But the fact that in Hester's first game, they put him in left field in Camden Yards with Cade Povitch making his fourth major league start. I think that's telling. And we've talked about defense, not exactly being super sharp in Cape Povitch's first three starts and not that Heston had any mistakes last night. Didn't have the ball go his way all that often. But I think he's going to get a bit of a runway here. And I think part of it, Todd Carpovich mentioned it. The fact that Hayes has been hitting lefties really well, particularly this month. Is it just a platoon now in left field, especially with cows are struggling and is interesting that they still think because this when Calzer was going well, and then you could it was slowly not going the other way, like Calzer still starts in center field against lefties. And then tonight with and Mullins was pinning better. You didn't have a great night last night. But still they they they have Calzer in center field against the left handed pitcher, not Mullins. I thought that was a little interesting. I think so too. Just because, like you said, Kenny was over four last night talking about Mullins, but he's been swinging about a heck of a lot better, you know, over the past 10 to 14 days than he did all season long. So you kind of would like to see Cedric Mullins continue in center that that did surprise me there. But just how are they going to navigate this in the short term? Because let's just say, you know, nights where Heston's in left, Cedric in center, Santander, and right, you leave the DH open for Ryan O'Hern and heck for an Adley Rochman. And I think that's where you're kind of your hands are tied a little bit in the fact that you can't just DH Heston cursed dad. You're going to have to play him in the field just because how much Adley Rochman's DH lately, you know, how much you want to get full her. Yeah, but when the rubber meets the road against a right handed pitcher, can you really afford to have James McCann catching? Well, that's a whole love. Yeah, like it's somebody else. And there are other options against the right in a pitcher, Ryan O'Hern can DH right? So you could you could Santander could DH and they have they have a plethora of left plethora. Yeah, of left handed batters. I don't necessarily like, understand the James McCann part of it. And we're going to talk to Roccabaco for 30. I am curious to ask him if he thinks there's something minor going on with Adley now that McCann is now catching through the last five days. But I do think that curse dad's going to get most of the fats against right handed pitching and probably play in left field. I also don't think it's coincidence, you know, the fact that he was ambushing the pitching last night, you know, in those first two at bats getting a double then a single because we're talking about the human side of things went with these prospects. And it's tough for a Heston curse dad where the bat obviously is MLB caliber. And for him to not get those consistent at bats, his first go around this season, but then right when he went back down, Ken, he hit immediately in Norfolk. And if given the consistent opportunities, I think he's going to show that he's going to be able to hit MLB caliber pitch. No, I agree with you. And I I wish they weren't facing a lefty tonight because I knew when I saw it was a lefty that he wasn't going to be in the lineup because, you know, they're trying to win baseball games here in Austin Hayes for whatever you think of him. He he has been hitting left handed pitching of late. He's also a an upgrade glove wise in left field. He still gives you the left field glove. But you know, I wonder if we see a pinch hitting opportunity for Heston curse dad tonight or if they switch back, you know, if the lefty leaves this game and they go to a righty, do they go do they remove Austin Hayes from this game? If the world's jump on this guy early, which they let's face it, the bats have been a little dormant the last few days. But if they jump on this guy and get a righty in the game, do they do they go lefty in left field? I could definitely see it. And I just think that's where it's kind of different this go around for Heston curse dad where unfortunately we saw a lot of that the first go around cam where he wouldn't start many games, but he would always come in and really tough situations against an opposing team's closer cold off the bench where I think every opportunity he's going to be out there against right handed pitching every single right handed star and whether that's to showcase him to another team or because they think he's the currently the best left handed bat they have, it's he's going to be out there. Yeah, and I'm, you know, going back to the showcasing part of it. I tend to agree with read in agree with you, Ken, where I one of Heston or male, I think one of those guys are going to be a key cog in a trade that Michael Iis swings. Yeah, I, I, I think they're going to have to and I thought read articulated it very well when you, when we had her on she goes, they have to, they have no choice. Like you, you can't, we talked about this, uh, what last week, you can't punt on the one burns year. You can't, you can't just say, uh, well, it's not our year. You got to go, go for it. The other side of it, I forget who reported it a couple of weeks ago saying, Oh, the Orioles are going to try and hold on to their top five guys in the farms. It's not realistic. And especially right now where the, the opposing teams that they kind of have the upper hand because they sell his market, how, how decimated your starting rotation has gotten and how you just lost Danny Coulomb for at a minimum, the next couple of months, like the other teams know that they know that Michael Iis needs the starting pitching. They're not just going to say, Oh, just give us Dylan Beavers and we'll move on. You know, it's not going to be like that. My opinion, I do not think that they will trade Jackson holiday. I don't think I think he's off the table. I don't think there's anything out there that would rise to the level of trading Jackson holiday. It's there. There's not a lot of big cache kind of moves. That said, like, not that it would make me happy, but if they, like, if they made a move with the white socks and they got a starter, a bullpen arm and an outfielder, if one of their, whether it be cursed dad or Mayo or Bassio, if they were the big chip in that kind of move, I wouldn't surprise me. No, it wouldn't surprise me at all either. I'm with you Ken just knowing how this organization operates. It would have to be a hell of a deal to include a Jackson holiday. It would have to be a hell of a deal. Three months ago, we were talking about him being on the opening day roster. I know he had his struggles when he's here and he had the injury that like they have not soured. No, they haven't at all. And Ken, think of all the guys. Jim callus is the one that immediately comes to mind. We're saying, yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if he hits 30 home runs as a rookie and just I Jackson holiday hasn't soured on me. You know, I still like you. I think so. I think so. You mean you haven't sat on him? Yes, correct. Yeah. I haven't sat. Jackson holiday from what I've read on me though. He speaks very highly of you. I think so. Yeah. I think he's like, I'm a big bone guy. He's a good guy. Yes. Yes. Yes. I think so too. I've heard Matt Holliday refer to you as his other son. Wow. Yeah. Right. I haven't heard that his other son, the other ones. Yeah. Yeah. He just say he's saying that. Yeah. But no, I'm still very excited to see which Jackson holiday can bring to the o's. But you know, he gave the news that the Orioles announced earlier on where he's activated, but they expect him to DH for the next several weeks. So I do question whether we see him again at the major league level this year. It's going to be a, yeah, until he starts playing second base. I just don't know how that happens. Hey, coming up next. It's T-bone time, TMI, TIM, what you got? This one viral man, Tim buyer. He was the fan who made the crazy catch last night in right field upper deck over the railing. We're going to hear from him. And one could say it was the highlight of last night's game. Yes, I agree. Ken Wyman. That was when Tim Byer, O's fan from Pasadena, he caught a foul ball that Josh Naylor yanked 108 and a half miles per hour exit velocity. Ken, he was holding his foam and a drink in one hand, leans a little over the railing and snags it bare handed. I mean, it was crazy. And he was all over the place. MLB.com. You said MLB network. Yeah. They had it talked about this morning. ESPN. They were talking about, I mean, that was one of the best catches by a fan that you will ever, ever see. And Tim is going to be joining us in a second. But first off, Ken, have you ever caught a foul ball? I didn't. I've never caught one on the fly. I did get one in a spring training game. And it just, it just occurred to me. It was, I think it was boardy with the ball 98, 98 spring training. Wow. I'm pretty sure it was Mike Bortik who hit it. And I, but I got it off a hop. I have never caught a foul ball. And quite frankly, I don't think I've ever been close to catching a foul ball. But joining us right now, the star of last night's game. And that is Tim Beyer. And Tim, you didn't have any hesitancy for that one hundred eight and a half miles per hour off the bat. You had a phone and you're in one hand. Yeah. And then it looked like you were leaning a little over the railing. I mean, you showed no fear there. You know, you got to take advantage of the opportunities. Like you guys, I've been to so many games and I've never been able to catch one. My wife has caught a ball, but I've not caught one. And so now I can at least, you know, I can at least walk with my head high at home at home. So you watch a family affair. So both you and the misses have caught foul balls at games before. Yeah, she had one that literally landed in her lap as I went running for it. And then it bounced and landed in her lap. So but now we're even so we're good. There you go. Tim, did you expect this to go as viral as it has? I mean, you've been all over the place. Not at all. I mean, you know, I just kept the ball. I was happy with the ovation from the crowd. I mean, that was cool. And then, you know, the phone starts blowing up. I just tell my friends, I feel like I'm living out my eight year old fantasy. You know, I mean, just you go to the game, like, how cool would it be to catch one? How cool would it be if they were clapped? How cool would it be if I'm on TV? And so I'm 42 years old, but that little eight year old in my brain is just like going nuts right now. Did you even think about like, for me personally, I'm afraid of heights. You did lean over that railing a little bit. Like, did were you confident that you'd be able to catch that ball? Always confident. Wow. The best, the best quote from last night, man, when you're good, you're good. Yeah, you told our buddy Rob long that, but also how cool is it the fact that, you know, you had your daughter in the interview with you? Oh, dude, man, that was all. Yeah. I mean, she missed it. And then when she came back and talked with Rob and got to hold her, then get her on TV, man. That was icing on the cake for sure. That was awesome. How many times have you watched it? You know, probably too much, but I'll get some sleep eventually. Yeah. Did any of your former teammates reach out? I mean, you said you were part of a state championship. Yeah, I mean, just because I'm back in '97. And yeah, I heard from some people from high school I haven't talked to in 25 years, you know, you hear from distant family relatives who don't know how the internet works and now they're asking for money. So it is what it is. He's Tim buyer, Tim. Thanks so much for coming on and amazing. Yeah, great job. You catch of the year. Yeah, it was a ton of fun, guys. Good talking to you. You guys will see it, Tim. And we got a pilot have been scared. Oh, dude, it was leaning over the railing. Yeah, you would have fell that upper deck. That's what I'm thinking. That would have been an injury. 410-583-105-7. We were asking, have you ever caught a foul ball like Tim? Not something on the bounce. It was an empty section, ran over to it. Larry is in Cadenceville. Larry, you're on the fan. Hey, guys. Well, mine actually pales to that. It's absolutely no comparison. I remember like it was yesterday, though, and I am a little bit older than Tim. So that said something in itself. Wayne Gross hit a line drive foul down the first baseline at Memorial Stadium. I stood up. I had my glove. The ball looked like it started fair, and it was a curve foul. I called it. Got a standing ovation. I can't remember if Rex Barney was involved with the contract discussion or not, but I do not remember getting the discussion. I mean the contract. The standing ovation was cold, but being as like most of us guys are, I actually went home. This was back when home team sports was the vendor, and they would replay the game, and I went home and watched myself catch the ball again. That's cool. Thanks for the call, Larry. Andre is in Baltimore. Andre on the fan. Yeah, me and my daughter go to about 30 games a year, and we've always tried to get foul balls. Well, I didn't catch it on the fly, but I followed the track of it, and I was watching it hit the face of the steps about five rows over where we were sitting and registered right back at me, and I just stuck my hand up and caught it. There you go, right, right, right spot for that. And one more mat is in Baltimore. Matt, you're on the fan. Hey, what's going on, fella? What's up, ma'am? I didn't catch it, but this year, you know, girl, we're on our way back to Bramson Beer, and we walk in. We're on the outer ring of the, uh, you know, the walkway, but in between the heat and, uh, she's a ball rolling, there's this guy, you know, 45 years old running towards it. I was right there, sat my beer, my hot dog down, and I grabbed it. He turns away, and behind him, there is a little like seven-year-old look crushed. So it's the first time I've ever touched a majorly baseball game, and I wound up giving it to him, and he went crushed to elated in a second. And that was honestly 35 years of baseball fan, and that was the best moment of my life. Oh, that's awesome. That was amazing. That's awesome. Thanks for the call, man. Yeah, there was type of moments Kevin Brown was saying it on massive. Like that's part of what makes baseball so cool. When I was a kid, we were a memorial stadium. I think it was opening day. Uh, we're sitting down the right field line, and Pat Putnam was like a first base DH type for the Ranger to hit a line drive. And literally, I can still remember, like, I don't remember a whole lot. Like, no, it like was coming at my head, and I'm probably seven. Oh, wow. Guy sticks his glove up and catches it like right in front of my face. Oh my God. She would have just, I was just like, dear in the headlights. Yeah. Yeah. That would have been fun. Uh, coming up next Orioles, they get ready to take. Oh, I got an answer on my screen. Orioles take getting ready to take on the guardians game two of a three game set. Roccabaco covers the O's for mass, and we'll get his thoughts branded. I just met with the media. Rock joins us next year on the fan Orioles lose last night three to two. They're looking at an four game losing streak tonight. Let's talk some Orioles baseball now with Roccabaco, who covers the O's for mass and rock. Thanks as always for joining us. We appreciate your time. Let me start with this. And maybe, maybe I'm just crazy. Is it possible that Adley might be going with some, like going through like some minor aches and pains? Because James McCann is starting mind the play for the third time in fifth game. Well, let's start out with no matter what my answer is, you are crazy. Yes. Yeah. That's a B one or the other. You know, Brandon talked about today, in fact, that having him DH a couple games, he wants to always keep his bat in a lineup. He's trying to keep him fresh. Makes sense tonight with a lefty on the mound is all surprised yesterday. So that's where you kind of look at why you doing it. But to him, it's almost like giving him two days off in a row just deaching. So yeah, I mean, we're all noticing it. He's in the lineup. He seems fine. And they're certainly not going to say it's because he's sore, but I can understand why he would go there. And that's kind of why we're asking lineup questions, you know, every every so often. And it does jump out when there's a right hand on the mound and McCann didn't line up. And Adley, the aging is it just to keep him fresh. There's something else going on. But we have not got confirmation that there are any aches and pains beyond what I guess the catcher would have, just like you and I walking to the fridge, you know, for a catcher, you know, yeah, you get, you get those aches and pains, but nothing you can't play through. Those old 12 ounce curls, rock. But I'll ask you another lineup question. It seems like we've been seeing this a lot more frequently of late with left handed starting pitching Gunnar Henderson dropping in the lineup instead of batting lead-off. What have you thought of that? Yeah, I mean, you know, a lot of people think he should do that all the time. And I obviously disagree because he's thriving. And for the most part, the offense has been thriving, them leading off. But it is opportunity against the left to get him a more of a run producing spot. What I asked today is we'd seen Jordan Westbrook up there at lead-off a few times. And now it's Adley in those situations. And Brandon said, again, he's looking at, you know, Richmond getting him his money at bat as he can. And with the on base percentage, likes to and what he's doing against left hand is to be looking at splits. How he's batting for the right side of the plate likes to have him right now first. And I guess with Westburg, you want to drop him down then if he has a couple different options, it's always going to be Gunnar when he's the right hander on the mound. But suddenly the decision was made instead of having Adley bat second, which is a really good spot for him, that because of what he's doing against left handers, they now want him moving up one entire spot. Meanwhile, how often do you really lead-off and ending after that first inning when you're batting lead-off? Like sometimes that's the only time you're the first batter coming up. But back to back lineup questions. There's not a lot of news going on today, isn't there? Well, if you like those two, wait, there's more. We're talking to Rock Kavaco. It's inside access here on the fan. Do you think that Heston cursed that we'll get the lion's share of opportunities in left field against right-handed pitching? Lion's share, I don't know, only because we're right back again to the situation where there's Mullins who swing in the bat better and there's cows or in their santan they are and there's rhino hern who always is in the lineup to get the right hander. So that kind of clogged things up a little bit. But I thought it could be really telling. First, that had been the lineup tonight against the lefty. That would have told me, look, this guy's going to get some steady at bats. They're going to take a longer look and sure enough he's on the bench. So I think he's going to get more of an opportunity than he did the last time he was here. That's not saying a lot though. It was a seven game, 17 played appearances. I think they're going to try to give him in there more. And maybe it's helpful, though it comes to the expense of Colton Kowser for the fact that Kowser's cooled off so much. Maybe that's more opportunities to sit him. And especially because Mullins seems to be having some better at bats lately that you don't have to sit him as much. Maybe that opens the door for Kirsten more. But again, I just don't think there's going to be one of the things where every time there's a right hander on the mound, he's in the lineup. This roster just doesn't seem to allow for that. That's why I know there's frustration, certainly with fans, whenever they bring up the flowers or a Kirsten, it's like, well, you bring them up and you don't play them. They play Kowser a lot. But otherwise, it's just tough when you have all these other guys. And again, also if you make any sort of a deal or maybe next season, I already looked ahead recently to 2025. So well, he could get a lot of, if he isn't traded, he's going to get a lot of that bats there because this whole outfit will not be back intact. But in the meantime, I think it's going to be trying to give him in there more often. He certainly has some really nice at bats last night. But who do you sit to do that? Hayes appears to be more of an amplitude role right now, which, man, after being an all-star last year, that's quite the draw. And I know it's not something he's dying to do, but he's also had some better at bats lately and certainly against left-handers. I'm a feeling he's going to be more where we're going to see him sitting against right-handers. We're speaking to Roccabaco. It's inside access on the fan. Roc, we haven't had you on since Kyle Bradish undergoing Tommy John's surgery. The starting rotations just been littered with injuries. Albert Suarez coming back down to Earth. I guess how concerned are you about this starting rotation, at least in the short term, prior to the deadline? Yeah, it really hurts the Kramer doesn't appear ready to come back yet. That's looks like they're going to have them do, you know, hopefully for them one more rehab start, which normal rest would be Thursday or if they gave me the extra day like they did the time before, that would be Friday in Norfolk because he only went two-thirds of an ending 39 pitches at last start and they're trying to stretch him out and he went from 50 something to 39. That doesn't work. So they really, really need him to get back because, yeah, I mean, this is, I had somebody ask me, I guess, in the mailbag, which I'm sure you bookmarked and we'll get a little later. But about, you know, if you remember another time in the Orioles rotation, we had three guys get hurt like this before the break. And I'm like, I don't think they've ever had three guys undergo elbow surgery within 17 days without doing an ounce of research. I'm going to say that has it happened. So it's really crazy. And then of course losing Kramer to the triceps strain. So yeah, and I'm sure they're going to make some move at or near the deadline to bring another starter. I don't know if it's going to be a one or two type guy or somebody more middle toward back end. They certainly need to bring another starter in. And as I've said, Suarez has done an admirable job, especially for a guy that wasn't even in the majors after 17. But I just feel like they really could use a bulk reliever. And he would be that perfect guy that if starting gets knocked out early, he can cover three, four, maybe five ending sport. If he can keep him stretched out, that would really be beneficial to this bullpen. And then you could go ahead and get another starter. But in the meantime, they're waiting on Kramer just keeping fingers crossed that nothing helped happen to anybody else. I think they've used up their quota of elbow surgeries. We're talking to Raka Baka Raka. The mailbag's always great because inevitably there's always a question that rock answers your mom. So that's that's always that that that that I always look forward to that. But Rock, do you expect them to be more aggressive this year at the deadline than they were last? I would think so because also, you know, looking at the bullpen, I'm sure they're going to bring in somebody a high another high leverage guy, and especially with Danny Coulomb being out for maybe September, I feel like they don't have much of a choice that doesn't mean you empty the farm system. And I think they would have obviously been looking for another reliever anyway. I just feel like the the urgency increases and maybe more than one now without Coulomb. I feel like, yes, that they're going to have to because they're going for it. This is why you make a trade for Corbin Burns as a rental. And you don't worry about a rental if you bring another starter at somebody asked me that it would have to be somebody under team control. And I'm like, well, that's nice. And he probably doesn't cost you as much in prospects. But if you're you're all in in 2024. So if it's a rental, it's so beat, it's a rental. But I so I think they are going to be more aggressive. But I just think there's a limit to how many prospects Michael I is going to move. And I've said this many times. I don't I don't think he's a hoarder be the collector of these prospects, you know, and it's got to be the right deal. And he's done a very good job of making trades so far. We have not had to remove anybody like at one of the top prospects. And there's certain guys I think it would you really have to be blown away for. So I think they're going to be aggressive and make deals because there's going to be an awful lot of GMs are going to be asking for too much and going to be turned away. Hey, Rock, I do want to ask you once more based on what you just said, like the talk of like another rental. But when, you know, part of Mike's job, Elias, is he's got to keep an aisle next year. And with the unlikelihood of Burns being back and the unlikelihood that Brad is your means pitches for them next year, don't they have to try to bring somebody back with team control? I mean, ideally, yeah, but then they also have a whole off season to go ahead and try and do that. And I obviously this is a nice audition for Povitch. I don't know if we're going to see Chase McDermott at some point could be an audition tough audition. You're also trying to win a world series. But yeah, ideally you would like the team control. But I think that in the meantime, if you're at this deadline, and you can go ahead and get somebody who is just for a half a season, you go ahead and do what you can always try to bring them back. If you if you really want to, Hey, Jack Flaherty, who's excited, right? Yeah, it's very much. But yeah, certainly you've got the off season to go ahead and kind of plot what are we going to do with the rotation moving forward? Because you're right. There are now guys that you can't even count on that you thought you could before. Rocabaco covers the ocean mass and rock always great, man. Thank you so much for your time. My pleasure guys. Thanks. Hey, coming up at five o'clock, we'll talk trade deadline with Mark Fine sand from MLB.com MLB network. But coming up next, what do we think about what we saw from Kate Povich last night? How are we feeling about this rotation until Mr. Michael Isprings in some reinforcements? We'll discuss next year on the fan. That's a nice job of pitching by Povich though. We slowed it down. Good tilt to the breaking ball and he gets the strike out one away. Oh, he got him looking. Was that a change up? I think that was a change up and it did pull. He didn't see one in the at bat. The O two long out and missed. He struck him out for the second time tonight. Two down. That's a ballet sport. Great lakes with the call there. By the way, bone, could you name any of the great lakes? I couldn't. Do you know how many this season Instacart has your back to school? Orioles lose last night three to two. They're looking at a four game losing streak tonight. Let's talk some Orioles baseball. Now with rock tobacco, who covers the owes for mass and rock thanks as always for joining us. We appreciate your time. Let me start with this and maybe maybe I'm just crazy. Is it possible that Adley might be going with some like going through like some minor aches and pains because James McCann is starting mind the play for the third time in fifth game. Let's start out with no matter what my answer is. You are crazy. Yes. That could be one or the other. Brandon talked about today in fact that having him DH a couple of games he wants to always keep his bat in the lineup. He's trying to keep him fresh. Makes sense tonight with a lefty on the mound. It was a little surprise yesterday. So that's where you kind of look at why you doing it. But to him, it's almost like giving him two days off in a row just the aging. So yeah, I mean, we're all noticing it. He's in the lineup. He seems fine. And they're certainly not going to say it's because he's sore, but I can understand why he would go there. And that's kind of why we're asking lineup questions, you know, every so often and it does jump out when there's a right hand on the mound and McCann didn't the lineup. And Adley the aging is it just to keep him fresh or something else going on. But we have not got confirmation that there are any aches and pains beyond what I guess a catcher would have. Just like you and I walking to the fridge, you know, for a catcher, you know, you get you get those aches and pains. You can't play through those old 12 ounce curls rock. But I'll ask you another lineup question. It seems like we've been seeing this a lot more frequently of late with left-handed starting pitching Gunnar Henderson dropping in the lineup instead of batting lead off. What have you thought of that? Yeah, I mean, a lot of people think you should do that all the time. I obviously disagree because he's thriving. And for the most part, the offense has been thriving, them leading off. But it is opportunity against the left to get him a more of a run producing spot. What I asked today is we had seen Jordan Westbrook up there at lead off a few times. And now it's Adley in those situations. And Brandon said he's getting, he's looking at, you know, Rushman getting him his money at bat as he can. And with the on base percentage, likes to and what he's doing against left handers be looking at split, how he's batting for the right side of the plate likes to have him right now first. And I guess with Westbrook, you want to drop him down then if he has a couple different options, it's always going to be Gunnar who is the right hander on the mound. But suddenly the decision was made instead of having Adley bat second, which is a really good spot for him. That because of what he's doing against left handers, they now want him moving up one entire spot. Meanwhile, how often do you really lead off an inning after that first inning when you're batting late off? Like sometimes that's the only time you're the first batter coming off. But back to back lineup questions. There's not a lot of news going on today, is there? Oh, well, if you like those two, wait, there's more. We're talking to Rockebocco. It's inside access here on the fan. Do you think that Heston cursed that we'll get the lion's share of opportunities in left field against right handed pitching? Lion's share. I don't know only because we're right back again to the situation where there's Mullins. He's swinging the bat better. And there's cows or in their santan they are, there's rhino hern, who always is in the lineup to get the right hander. So that kind of clogs things up a little bit. But I thought this would be really telling if first that had been the lineup tonight against the lefty, that would have told me, look, this guy's going to get some steady at bats. They're going to take a longer look and sure enough, he's on the bench. So I think I think he's going to get more of an opportunity than he did the last time he was here. That's not saying a lot though. It was a seven game, 17 played appearances. I think they're going to try to give them in there more. And maybe it's helpful, though it comes to the expense of Colton calories over the fact that calories are just cold off so much. Maybe that's more opportunities to sit him. And especially because Mullins, it seems to be having some better at bats lately that he don't have to sit him as much. Maybe that opens the door for cursed that more. But again, I just don't think there's going to be one of the things where every time there's a right hander on the mound, he's in the lineup. This roster just doesn't seem to allow for that. That's why I know this frustration, certainly with fans, whenever they bring up the stowers or a cursed dad, it's like, well, you bring them up and you don't play them. They play Bowser a lot. But otherwise, it's just tough. We have all these other guys. And again, also, if you make any sort of a deal or maybe next season, I already looked ahead recently to 2025. So well, he could get a lot of, if he isn't traded, he's going to get a lot at bats there because this whole outfit will not be back intact. But in the meantime, I think it's going to be tried to get him in there more often. He certainly has some really nice at bats last night. But who do you sit to do that? Hayes appears to be more of an opportune role right now, which, man, after being an all-star last year, that's quite the drop. And I know it's not something he's dying to do, but he's also had some better at bats lately and certainly against left-handers. I'm a feeling he's going to be more where we're going to see him sitting against right-handers. We're speaking to Roccabaco. It's inside access on the fan rock. We haven't had you on since Kyle Braddish undergoing Tommy John surgery. The starting rotations just been littered with injuries. Albert Suarez coming back down to Earth. I guess, how concerned are you about this starting rotation, at least in the short term, prior to the deadline? Yeah, it really hurts the Kramer doesn't appear ready to come back yet. That looks like they're going to have them do, you know, hopefully for that one more rehab start, which normal rest would be Thursday or if they give me extra day like they did the time before, that would be Friday in Norfolk because he only went two-thirds of an ending, 39 pitches at last start, and they're trying to stretch him out and he went from 50 something to 39. That doesn't work. So they really, really need him to get back because, yeah, I mean, I had somebody ask me, I guess, in the mail bag, which I'm sure you bookmarked and we'll get a little later. But about, you know, can you remember another time in the Orioles rotation, we had three guys get hurt like this before the break. And I'm like, I don't think they've ever had three guys undergo elbow surgery within 17 days. Without doing an ounce of research, I'm going to say that has it happened. So it's really crazy. And then, of course, losing Kramer to the triceps straight. And he would be that perfect guy that if the starter gets knocked out early, he can cover three, four, maybe five ending support. If he can keep him stretched out, that would really be beneficial this bullpen. And then you can go ahead and get another starter. But in the meantime, they're waiting on Kramer, just keeping fingers crossed that nothing helped happen to anybody else. I think they've used up their quota of elbow surgeries. We're talking to Raka Baka, Raka, the mailbags always great because inevitably, there's always a question that rock answers your mom. So that's that's always that that that that that I always look forward to that. But Rock, do you expect them to be more aggressive this year at the deadline than they were last? I would think so because also, you know, looking at the bullpen, I'm sure they're going to bring in somebody a high another high leverage a guy, and especially with Danny Coulomb being out until maybe September. I feel like they don't have much of a choice. That doesn't mean you empty the farm system. And I think they would have obviously been looking for another reliever anyway. I just feel like the the urgency increases and maybe more than one now without Coulomb. I feel like, yes, that they're going to have to because they're going for it. This is why you make a trade for Corbin Burns is a rental. And you don't worry about a run for if you bring another starter at somebody asked me that it would have to be somebody under team control. And I'm like, well, that's nice. And he probably doesn't cost you as much and prospects. But if you're you're all in in 2024. So if it's a rental, it's so beat, it's a rental. But I so I think they are going to be more aggressive. But I just think there's a limit to how many prospects Michael I is going to move and I've said this many times. I don't I don't think he's a hoarder be the collector. Yeah, these prospects, you know, and it's got to be the right deal. And he's done a very good job of making trades so far. We have not had to remove anybody like one of the top prospects. And there's certain guys I think it would you really have to be blown away for. Hey, Rock, I do want to ask you once more based on what you just said, like the talk of like another rental. But when, you know, part of Mike's job, Elias, is he's got to keep an aisle next year. There are now guys that you can't even count on that you thought you could before. Rockabocko covers the ocean mass and rock. Always great, man. Thank you so much for your time. My pleasure, guys. Thanks. Hey, coming up at five o'clock, we'll talk trade deadline with Mark Feinstein from MLB.com MLB network. But coming up next, what do we think of what we saw from Kate Povitch last night? How are we feeling about this rotation until Mr. Michael Iis brings in some reinforcements. We'll discuss next year on the fan. That's a nice job pitching by Povitch though. He slowed it down. Good tilt to the breaking ball and he gets the strikeout one away. Oh, he got him looking. Is that a change up? I think that was a change up and it pulled him. He didn't see one in the at bat. The O2 swung out and missed. He struck him out for the second time tonight. That's a Bally sport. Great Lakes with the call there. By the way, bone, could you name any of the great lakes? I couldn't. Do you know how many great lakes there are? Four or five. Damn it. You can't name a single one. No, I really can't. I'm not good with geography in general. One of my worst qualities as a human being is a sense of direction. I know that doesn't that's not exactly applicable. There are five. Can you name any of them? What about the mediocre lakes? There are only five great lakes like Michigan, Lake Superior, Lake Erie, Lake Huron, Ciaran, Ciaran, H-U-R-O-N and Lake Ontario. Those are your great lakes. I don't know what makes them so great, but they are the great lakes. They are the great lakes. Back to the Orioles and Guardians, K. Povich. I thought he fared rather well, five and two-thirds, seven hits, one walk, three or runs, five strikeouts. He gave up the home run to Ramirez in the sixth, but may Josh Naylor look bad a couple times. I mean, look really bad. Three strikeouts of Josh Naylor. And look, through four starts, we've seen more good than bad with K. Povich. I'm not saying he's been lights out. It's back-to-back starts where he's really struggled to get out of the first inning. Now he was able to limit damage in the Yankees game and last night, holding both of them to just one run, but the pitch count elevated. 31 pitches last night, 32 pitches against New York. And he was able to settle in after that, which is good. He retired 10 of 11 before Ramirez's home run and 12 of 14 before getting pulled in the sixth inning. But I am concerned about this starting rotation in the immediacy. Yeah. Look, Michael Iis is not going to bring in a starter tomorrow. You know, it's still going to be a little bit away. And through the last seven days can this starting rotation, 25 earned runs and 32 innings pitched. That's a 703 ERA. And you go deeper Orioles ERA as a team in the last week, 692, which is by far the worst in baseball. Now it's just a week and we know how there's ebbs and flows over the course of 162 games. But you just look at this rotation right now. Core Evans on the bump tonight. And I'm very concerned about core and we were doing the show last week, when the Orioles just couldn't stop putting up runs against the Yankees and he couldn't stop giving him back in that game. He couldn't complete five innings. So it's a big start for him tonight. Suarez, the Linsanity runs over. I mean, I think he could fare well in the bullpen, but I think we've seen enough Suarez as a starter. Grayson's still really young. He's going to have some of those starts like we saw Friday in Houston. The one guy we can trust right now is Corbin Burns and they desperately need to add to the starting rotation. And we brought it up earlier. The game three starter at a minimum, this postseason better not be on the roster. No, that guy, whoever's starting game three, and we're going to assume they're going to make the postseason. Yeah. Whoever's starting game three of the postseason is a guy they acquire in the next five weeks. It has to be. It has to be. And now the question is, you know, can, can this starting staff combined with the bullpen do enough over the next couple of weeks until reinforcements come? And look, the offense is going to have to step up and they were scoring runs galore over that two game stretch against the Yankees and the Astros. But it's been ice cold over the past three games. And now you got an opportunity going against a struggling starter, Logan Allen tonight, ERA over five. Let's get some wrongs to show up. Yes, let's get some early rounds. Hey, the trade deadline is five weeks away. How aggressive are the Orioles going to be? We're going to ask Mark Feinstein, MLB network, MLB.com joins us next year on the fan. Hit your way. That's a nice job of pitching by COVID show. He slowed it down. Good tilt to the breaking ball and he gets the strikeout one away. Oh, he got him looking. Is that a change up? I think that was a change up and it pulled him. He didn't see one in the at back. The O two long on and missed. He struck him out for the second time tonight to down. That's a Bali sport. Great Lakes with the call era. By the way, bone, could you name any of the Great Lakes? I couldn't. Do you know how many Great Lakes there are? Four, they're five. Damn it. You can't name a single one. No, I really can't. Could you name a great like geography in general? Like I mean, you know, I'm not naming a new one of my worst qualities as a human being is a sense of direction. And I know that doesn't that's not exactly applicable. There are five. Yeah. Okay. You can. Can you name it? What about the mediocre lakes? There are only five Great Lakes, Lake Michigan. Okay. Lake Superior. Okay. Lake Erie. I know Erie Lake Huron. Huron. Huron. Huron. H-U-R-O-N. All right. And Lake Ontario. Okay. Those are your familiar with on. Those are your Great Lakes. Yeah. I don't know what makes them so great, but they are the Great Lakes. They are the Great Lakes.
