Locked On Nationals - Daily Podcast On The Washington Nationals

MLB, It's Time To Consider A Salary Cap, Sincerely A Washington Nationals Fan

After watching the New York Mets, the New York Yankees, and all of the other big market teams in Major League Baseball spend all the money in the world, it has Ryan thinking about one thing in particular. Major League Baseball has an issue, and that issue is not having a salary cap. What would a salary cap do for MLB in the long run? Well, this is a simple fix. This could A) level the playing surfaces, and B) Stop Steve Cohen from spending billions & billions on players that he necessarily doesn't need. We want fun baseball back, and Ryan has the answers as to how that could work. Since we're on the topic of free agency, Ryan makes his case for adding another corner outfielder to the MLB roster, and this includes a power lefty bat to help one of the worst power hitting teams in baseball in 2022. The Nats need to generate more runs, and this player could add in a BIG way. Also, the Nationals brought back a 2019 World Series Champion, and one of the leaders that we need in the clubhouse to help lead the young guys.
