If there is any mercy left in this universe, by the time you read this, the sun will have extinguished. If, on the other hand, the universe continues onward in its infinite indifference, here is a new episode. "Didi" and "The Bikeriders" are up for review. There are other discussions. None of it matters. Nothing matters. There is no harmony in the universe. We have to get acquainted to this idea that there is no real harmony as we have conceived it. But when I say this, I say this all full of admiration for the jungle. It is not that I hate it, I love it. I love it very much. But I love it against my better judgment.

(upbeat music) - Welcome to another episode of the Neon Movie Bunker. - I'm John Robinson. - And I'm L.R.A. Stanek. - And we're here to talk about movies. - And D23. - Yes, Disney's great big company-wide event has been going on the past couple of days. And they've had some announcements for theatrical product and such, including Disney Animation Studios, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, little something for everybody. - Okay. - In term, this is gonna be in chronological order of when they're gonna get released. - Okay. - Moana 2, as a new trailer, coming out later this year, November 27th, 2024. - Yep. - And then, this is interesting. Well, coming first quarter of 2025 is a new live action Snow White with Rachel Ziegler and Gal Gadot. - Mm-hmm. - You wanna guess what year filming wrapped on that? - 2022. - That's correct. Rachel Ziegler actually shot the Hunger Games movie that came out at the end of last year after shooting Snow White. - Wow. - Yeah. - That's a long post period. - Yeah, that's a lot of CGI. Have you seen the dwarves? - No, I have not. - Dwarfs are, well, how can I describe the image I saw of the dwarves somewhere between Tin, Tin, and Alita Battle Angel? - That's weird. - I can understand kind of why they did it that way. You know, maybe a little bit of the Navi in there. - Okay. - Basically, because people like Peter Dinklage were standing up and screaming, why are you making a movie with dwarves in it in the, you know, the letter in the mid part of the 21st century. - Mm-hmm. - Summer 2025 will bring us the, quote, live action, Lilo and Stitch. - Mm-hmm. - I saw a video, quick video of Stitch. - You look cute. - Yeah. - Incredibles 3 is in the works at Pixar. - Yeah. - That's something of a surprise. - A little bit. - It's a surprise I'm mostly okay with. - Same here. - The only problem I have with it is that I really like Brad Bird. - Okay. - And, you know-- - You wanna see him stretch? - Everybody's only got so many pictures in him. - Yeah. - And if Brad Bird is doing a third Incredibles, what's he not doing? - That's fair. - That's fair. - 'Cause honestly, Brad Bird has been the credited director on five pictures so far. This will be a sixth. - Mm-hmm. - Honestly, the Incredibles series are the bottom, hold the bottom two slots for me. In his-- - Refresh my memory. - Iron Giant. - Oh yeah. - Okay. - The Incredibles. - Ratatouille. - Oh yeah, all right. - Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol. - Oh yeah, that's right. - This is gonna be the controversial one. The one that I like and a lot of people didn't. Tomorrowland and Incredibles too. - Okay. - So. But anyway, you know, any Brad Bird is good Brad Bird to have. - Right, but it would be nice to see him do something else. - Yeah. Toy Story 5 now has a teaser apparently. According to director Andrew Stanton, Woody Buzz and the gang will be fighting to stop their new child from becoming an iPad kid. Interesting. It's interesting that Andrew Stanton is gonna be a director on it. - Yeah. - Now that I think about it. - Yeah. - And then the question, the story question becomes how do they get Woody back in the fold? - Right. - 'Cause that was kind of the, that was the best part about Toy Story 4, which is a movie I generally liked, but the best part is Buzz looking Woody in the face and saying, "No, Bonnie will be okay." But Summer 2026, Toy Story 5 will be hitting. Zootopia 2 coming November 2025. - Yeah. - Frozen 3 in 2027. - This is bound to happen sooner or later. - Sure, sure. And there are plans for a Frozen 4. - Okay. - LEO coming from Pixar and Summer 2025. I announced a second cast member. - Oh, yeah? - Zoe Saldana. - Nice. - Yeah. - Zootopia 2 coming, yeah. Which, I really, I have not seen it since I saw it in the theater, but the farther I got from Zootopia, the more I kind of liked it. - It was fun. - Yeah. - It was a lot of fun. And I mean, like any movie it has, it's flaws. - Sure. - But it holds up well enough upon repeat feeling. - And there's a lot, there are ideas. - Yeah. - Like design, there is a weird kinship between that and elemental in that there's all that great design work that was done that I, you know, that I really liked. - Yeah. - They announced a new cast member for Zootopia 2, by the way. - Oh, yeah? - A snake named Gary, voiced by Kei Hui Kwan. - Nice. - He's apparently the villain. - Ooh. - This is a Disney+ show, I think. Yeah, yeah, Disney+ show. Skillet and crew, or let me say it's full title. Star Wars, Skillet and crew. The biggest name involved with that is Jude Law. - Yup. - There's a new trailer for Agatha all along. - Okay. - There's a quote, a snippet revealed of Fantastic Four first steps. If apparently it's out there, if you want to find social media, at least until all the Disney lawyers get done. - Yeah. - Julia Garner as someone connected to the Silver Surfer, Ralph Anderson as Galactus, Paul Walter, Houser. I just realized, you know, who Paul Walter, Houser is almost in, gotta be playing? - Who? - Moleman. - Oh, that would be awesome. - Right? I mean, I don't know why I didn't put that together until right now, but. I thought he was going to be playing the voice of the robot. - This is where I'm. - Herbie? - Herbie, yes. - Oh, Moleman. The body type is pretty accurate. - I'm happy either way. - John Malkovich doing something in there is gonna be a hoot. And then Natasha Lyon. - Yeah. - Who I still think is pro, hopefully. I very much like to see her as the Mad Thinker, but. - That'd be cool. - There's a snippet played of Daredevil born again. - Nice. - Charlie Cox and Sittinofrio, Depper Ann Woll, and Elden Henson. And the trailer strategy 23 was jam-packed with surprises, such as the return of John Bernthal's Punisher and Willson Bethel's Bullseye. - Hmm. - Avatar 3 now has a title. Avatar 2 became, of course, the way of water. In contrast with that, Avatar 3 is now Avatar. Fire and Ash. - Okay. - Kind of an ominous title. - Yeah. - Hitting theaters December 19th, 2025, happy birthday to me. - Well, no official details were revealed. Cameron did show attendees concept art from the film, showing the Ash people of Navi and their otherworldly masks. There's also a video game coming. Avatar fun frontiers of Pandora. - Freaky Friday 2 now has an official title. - Freaky or Friday? - Okay. Leaves it open for a third. - Freaky as Friday? - Yeah. - The long freaky Friday? (laughing) The freaky Friday after next. - The freaky Friday the 13th. - Sequel sees the return of the mother daughter duo Tess and Anna Coleman as Anna and her daughter prepare to marry into a new family. Many Jacinto of the good place in the acolyte stars as Anna's new husband. Tron Aries has a release date of October 10th, 2025. Jeff Bridges, Jared Leto, Evan Peters, Greta Lee. Jared Leto plays Aries, a highly sophisticated AI sent to the real world for an undisclosed mission. It was also revealed that Tron-Resner and Arunaticis Ross and Andy Chanel's will be composing the film soundtrack. Tron has become one of the unlikeliest films to get a third film, considering the 1982 film and 2010's Tron Legacy had disappointing box office returns. However, we won't complain about getting more. And then there is Monster Jam. - And what's that? - Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is developing a new film with the studio called Monster Jam, inspired by the Monster Truck Driving Event of the same name. The film is currently shooting. It does not currently have a release date yet. - Hmm, okay. Disney Pixar's first ever original TV series is on the way. Entitled "Winner Lues," the new show introduces us to the Pickles, a softball team, gearing up for a championship. We'll ride along with eight different characters, including "Insecure Kids," helicopter parents, a love-sick umpire, and the Pickles coach, voiced by Will Forte as they prepare for the game of their lives. And I swear, as I was starting to read that, I saw a love-sick umpire, and I could have sworn it was gonna be a love-sick vampire. But... - We'd definitely put a spin on it. - Yeah, yeah. There's an additional Pixar TV series coming to Disney Plus. Dream Productions, an inside-out spin-off about the dream factory inside Riley's head takes place between the events of "Inside-Out" and "Inside-Out" too. - Okay. - And then there's a teaser for "Elio," follows a young boy who accidentally becomes Earth's ambassador to the alien, "Communiverse," also featuring, in the voice cast, America Ferreira, Jamila Jamil, and Brad Garrett, directed by Adrian Molina, who co-wrote and co-directed "Coco." - Hmm, nice. - Or, alternately, he wrote and directed "Coco." - What, what? - I'm sorry. It was, it was there and... I would have hurt myself had I... - No, I believe me, I understand the impulse. - Yeah. - And "Spring" 2026, Disney Pixar brings us hoppers. Newest original film starring John Hamm, Bobby Moynihan, and Piper Kurda. It involves a beaver. Hoppers introduced us to Mabel, a young girl who transfers her consciousness into a robot beaver in order to learn more about the world of animals, with a concept like robot beaver body swap. - Yeah, that's... - I'm guessing there may, in fact, be hijinks. - I'm guessing. - The jinks will probably be high. - Yes. - There's "New Trailer" from Mufasa the Lion King, mostly about the meeting of Mufasa and Taka, who becomes known as Scar. - No, new stuff for "Ironheart," such a premiere in 2025. Ooh, there's cast announcements here that I was not aware of. - Yeah. - In addition to Dominique Thornton, who played Riri Williams in "What Kind of Forever," Alden Ehrenreich, Lyric Ross, Matthew Elam, Angie White, Manny Montana, Shay Koolay, and as the villain, Parker Robbins, AKA the Hood, in the heights and twisters, Anthony Ramos. - Ooh. - Yeah. There is going to be a second and final season for Andor. - Okay. - At least two Rogue One characters would be returning. Or Andor season two. - Nice. - They have names. Would you like to know what they are? - I would. Orson Krenick, played by Ben Mendelsohn. - Mm-hmm. - And K2SO. - Nice. - Voiced by Alan Tudic. Oh, and then there's, let's see. Percy Jackson and the Olympian season two had an announcement that that's going to happen. - Okay. - Oh, and one other thing. For the first time in seven years, we're getting a new "Star Wars" movie. The Mandalorian and Grogu, directed by John Favreau, just weeks into production. Favreau and Dave Filoni brought footage to the 23 to give us taste of what's next for the Mandalorian and Grogu. The Mandalorian and Grogu facing ad-ats on a snowy planet, possibly hot. Pedro Pascal's good. - Busy. - Oh, yeah. - Oh, yeah. - Although to be fair, I think they were established on like season two, about two or three seasons of the Mandalorian so far. - Three? - I think on season two, they established that unless they actually need his face, he's probably not in the suit. - Yeah. - At which one, it kind of becomes a voice overall and not that he, not that Mando exactly talks a lot. - Right. - So that will help him certainly in that 'cause I'm pretty sure Fantastic Four either is, or will very soon start shooting. - Yeah, I think they are shooting. - Let's see how well, you know, is there a tank somewhere with Pedro Pascal clones? - Maybe. - So yeah, stuff is coming. - Mm-hmm. Some of it looks very fun. - Yeah. - And some of it looks like Monster Jam. - Yeah, well. - The good news is, I mean, nobody's ever invested a whole bunch of money in a Dwayne Johnson idea that's gone on. - No. - No. I'll smack you back to Condok if you think so. (laughing) - Yeah. - So, listeners, what of the D23 announcements are you most looking forward to? Let us know mail at neonmoviebunker.com. - Of course, that's not the only way to reach us. - That is true. There is, you know, facebook.com/neonmoviebunker. - Mm-hmm. - There is twitter.com/neonmoviebunker or @neonmoviebunker. There is, I am @johnnmb on the twitter. Then there is @neonmoviebunker.bsky.social on the blue sky. There is, I'm on Letterbox as user Johnnmb, so maybe follow me there if you're interested. And of course, please subscribe to the show and Apple podcasts and YouTube and Spotify and wherever you get your podcasts. And www.neonmoviebunker.com is our website. With stuff. - And things. - And twitch.tv/neonmoviebunker is our event space where things, sometimes, infrequently, but sometimes, have happened. And so we come to the end of another episode of The Neon. - No, no, no, no, no, no, no. - Oh. - Am I skipping ahead again? - You're skipping ahead. You're skipping the reviews, my friend. - Oh, I should do something about that. - You probably should. - I've seen a movie, have you seen a movie? - I have. - Well, let's talk about that. - Okay. - I have seen Dee Dee. Written and directed by Sean Wong, stars Isaac Wong, Joan Chen, Shirley Chen, Zhong Li Hua, Mahela Park, Raoul Diyal, Aaron Chang, Kairan Siliya Dink, Mante Boseman, Oesha Syed, Alesia Simmons, and others. So, Chris Wang is living in Fremont, California, up in the Bay Area. He's 13 or so. - Okay. - Just graduated from junior high school. It's the summer between junior high and high school. - Gotcha. - It's 2008. And, well, there are interesting new technologies to be exploited. YouTube, for example. We're on the cusp of the transition where the kids stopped being on MySpace and started being on Facebook, that kind of thing. - Yeah. - The iPhone is out in the world, but it's still very much and rich persons plaything. You don't see them a lot around. Most people are still carrying digital cameras, for example. - Yeah. - Chris is, well, Chris has a couple of different identities. - Okay. - At home, he's Diddy. He is the younger brother of Vivian. He is the son of Chung Singh. He is the grandson of Nainai. His father is absent alive, but absent. We find out eventually something about where he is. It's not prison. Nainai is Chris's father's mother, but she's living there with her daughter-in-law and her two grandchildren. The family is Taiwanese for the record. And Taiwanese is primarily the language spoken at home. I mean, Chris and Vivian are completely bilingual. Their mom understands English well enough, but doesn't usually speak it unless she really has to. And Nainai. - Yeah. - With his friends, Chris is wang wang. - Okay. - His friends include Fahad and a kid known as soup. - Okay. - And yeah, and Chris has aspirations of becoming some kind of filmmaker or something. He kind of wants to be Spike Jones in the sense of wants to shoot skateboard videos. - Yeah. - And represents himself as a skateboard video filmer. - Okay. - He has two problems and they're tied together very closely. - Yeah. - Problem number one is that he's 13. And problem number two is that he's pretty much an idiot. - Okay. - Not like in the completely duh-duh kind of idiot way just in your 13 and you don't know anything kind of way. - Yeah. - The hormones have kicked in. - Okay. And Matty is the apple of his eye. - Gotcha. - Also a 13 year old in his class. He's just kind of a big bundle of impulsivity, lies, caffeine, internet brain rot. You know, it's, he's not really a bad kid. - No. - But he's most definitely a dumb kid. - Okay. - And so what the movie does is it follows him from roughly July 1st to his first day or two of high school. - Okay. - His sister Vivian is going to be going off to college at UC San Diego all the way down to the other end of the state more or less. It's very typical older sister, younger brother dynamic in that he ticks her off and she ticks him off and they don't really get along until they really need to, but when they do, they do. And ultimately this is a series of vignettes where Chris does something dumb, faces the blowback and maybe begins to start learning something. - Okay. - It ends on that first day of high school and he's, well, he successfully manages to alienate just about everybody around him through the course of the movie. - Okay. - But by the end, we do see some bits of regrowth and forgiveness and progress. - Gotcha. - Not universally, but so. - Okay. - This movie won the narrative award at this year's Sundance unlike kneecap, which I reviewed on last week's show, which I had said was played Sundance one of the audience word of Sundance, but not particularly Sundance movie. This one does feel a bit more Sundance, but it's okay in that. - Yeah. - It's interesting. For the first half of the movie, mostly because Chris is such an idiot. - Yeah. - I was not particularly having a good time. - Okay. - I didn't like it a whole lot. - Yeah. - But by the end, it had very, very much won me over. - Okay. - Part of it is that as the movie goes on, even though he's pretty much the focus of every scene, Chris is not the only important character. - Okay. - Because we start to see more of the relationship with his mother and what her life is like. Immigrant living under the thumb of her mother-in-law. She is a talented painter. But, and continues to do it, but has been more or less put it aside to raise two kids alone and care for her elderly mother-in-law. - Yeah. - And, you know, still does it from time to time and enters our competitions, but it's not, it's not really necessarily the life she thought she would have when she was Chris's age. - Gotcha. - Vivian, Chris's sister is decent human. - Okay. - She has been through this process that Chris is going through and come out the other side. Pretty good. - Okay. - Nine Eye is lightly stereotypical, but. - Okay. - Not, on some level, Nine Eye is mostly a plot device and not so much a character, but that's. - Gotcha. - She's necessary. At one point, Chris falls in with a three or four slightly older guys, skaters, and he volunteers to film for them. And this is kind of the beginning of his improvement. He blusters his way into their, you know, the position is their filmer. And, but he's also at least aware enough to, after the first day of filming, he starts to do things like, "Google's, how to become a skateboard filmer?" And tries to self-teach a lot of the things he will need to do that. It ultimately does kind of backfire on him, but he gets enough into it and learns enough that we can tell it's gonna, he's gonna keep going with it. - Nice. - I don't know the degree to which this is autobiographical for Sean Wang. - And it's kind of irrelevant. - Yeah. - Isaac Wang as Chris is, it's an impressive performance in kind of the same way that Elsie Fisher in eighth grade was an impressive performance. It seems to me it would be very difficult to act as an idiot, 13 year old. And not actually be an idiot, 13 year old, if you know what I'm saying? - Yeah, yeah. - I remember I saw Bolburnum talk about the, about eighth grade and about Elsie Fisher. And he said, "It's a very technical performance." You know, you see her doing her vlogs and every, and is scripted in there. And she's nailing each and everyone. I have a feeling very similar things going on here with Chris and Isaac indeedy. And then there's Joan Chen. - Yeah. - Who we've always known is awesome and amazing, but has so rarely had the opportunity to really be awesome and amazing. And certainly on the surface, suburban mom dealing with generational pressure from the bottom and the top does not necessarily seem like it would be conducive to demonstrating awesome and amazing, but nails it. - So well. - Nice. - Yeah. - Uh, there's a scene towards the end between her and Chris that is, well, it's an Oscar clip waiting to happen. - Okay. - Like I said, I was not halfway through, I was ready to, I was, I wasn't thinking about walking out, but I was thinking about kind of shutting down. I'm glad I didn't, I glad I stayed with it because it's a great demonstration that Sean Wang knows exactly what he's doing. He knows exactly how long to let it go and let Chris continually turn you off. And then he starts to give you the little bits where, okay, maybe he's not so bad. Was in limited release last weekend and is opening a little bit wider and will be opening even wider this upcoming weekend. Definitely recommended for everybody. If you're the parent of a teenager, it's recommended, particularly if the parent of an Asian teenager, it's recommended because there are elements of Chris's self-hatred of his racial identity. Like at one point he tries to claim to be half Asian and doesn't really stick. No matter how hard he he protests. And yeah, great performances, interesting, you know, 2008 year of soundtrack, it is very strange. This may be the first period piece where it's conceivable that the main character might have been a listener to the old show. Yeah, which is that does kind of boggle the mind. Yeah, yeah, Dee Dee in theaters now worth it. See it, okay. Yeah, I mean, it's just a little bit different, I mean, it's a little bit different. Here's now worth it, see it. Okay, and what do you have for us? Well, I had the chance to take a look at the Blu-ray of the bike riders. Ah, the bike riders, which you reviewed a... Couple of months ago, I wanna take a little while. Yeah, a little while. Yeah, a little while. Directed by Jeff Nichols, written by Jeff Nichols, inspired by the book by Danny Lyon. Mm-hmm. I... You've already recapped the story. Yeah. I don't necessarily feel the need to do that again. Biking, biker gang, Chicago, late '60s, early '70s. Yeah. Jody Comer gives the performance as Kathy. Mm-hmm. She is really nailing it in this film. Bad accent. The accent is great, just the facial expressions, the, some of them kind of subtle, some of them not so much, just an amazing performance. And then you've got Austin Butler and Tom Hardy. Mm-hmm. You know, this is not a lightly stacked cast. This is a strong cast where everybody's giving great performance. But Comer really just stands out, you know. Michael Shannon has a couple of great speeches in it. Mm-hmm. Norman Reedus. Norm, yeah. And his teeth. Oh, God. Creepy, creepy teeth. And it's something of a little bit of tragedy to the story. Sure. But ultimately, things work out. It's, as I said, when I reviewed it, it's Jeff Nichols's, why don't you make a good tell us? Yeah. Yeah. And that, that tracks. It's beautifully shot. Mm-hmm. Impressive stunt work. Looks great on Blu-ray. Cool. Then we get to the bonus features. Yes. I'm intrigued. Tell me more. Well, the, the, the kind of thing that I'm talking about. I'm intrigued. Tell me more. Well, the, the key one is the audio commentary. Oh, sweet. From director, Jeff Nichols. And, you know, it is an engaging and informative commentary track. You know, this is one where he's talking the entire time and he's giving interesting tidbits about the genesis of this project 20 years ago. Wow. When he was given a copy of the book. Okay. And just the, you know, certain imagery from the book, then that he used to plan out shots in the film. Okay. Are you familiar with the book? It's mostly just images. Yeah. Mostly photographs. A couple of interviews. Yeah. And just. He details in this commentary, how much of a passion project was for him and how. All the little stories that you'd want to hear behind the scenes. You know, he, he tells them in great detail about how he tells stories about how. Jody Comer wrote out the entire script phonetically. Ah, for the accent. Nice. The entire script. Not just her stuff. No, no, well, or just hers. Okay. But, but still. Yeah. She's got a lot of talking today. She's got it. Right. Just how technical a performance it was and. It goes into detail about the editing process. It's a great audio commentary track. Well worth a listen. Sweet. The other bonus features, there are three of them. One focuses on Tom Hardy, Austin Butler and Jody Comer. Okay. One talks a little bit more about the book. And then one talks a little bit more about the bikes. Altogether, the runtime for these is about 17 minutes. EPK stuff. Yeah. It's okay. As a Blu-ray, this is. Okay. I guess, you know, the audio commentary is great, but it would have been nice to see. A little bit more effort put in even for EPK stuff. This was scant. Yeah. So the film is great. The film, I would definitely recommend the Blu-ray is kind of a mixed bag. It's, it's light. Okay. All right. Well, you know, honestly, I am genuinely impressed that there's commentary. Yeah. Those are becoming so rare these days. Yeah. And it's a good one too. Sweet. So listeners, did you see DD or did you see the Blu-ray of the bike riders? Please let us know what you thought. Mail it on movie bunker.com. In the meantime, there are DVDs and Blu-rays and stuff and things and such. Four Ks and VHSes and eight millimeter reels and laser discs. Yeah. Them too. Anything catch your eye? Yeah. The thing that catches my eye most this week is a movie that I, when I heard about it, was like, oh, that is never going to see the light of day. That they are going to get completely sued to death. Yeah. But apparently Vera Drew did something right because, uh, the people's Joker is coming to DVD and Blu-ray and VHS if he can find a copy about a trans comedian who becomes the Joker. Ish kind of thing. An aspiring clown grappling with her gender identity combats a fascistic caped crusader in writer director Vera Drew's aboriously subversive queer coming of age origin story. Yep. That's an interesting, interesting take. Yeah. I, uh, I very much want to see it. I'm a little mad I was not able to get to, uh, when it was the weekend it was playing at the music box. But, uh, I admire her hoots, but if nothing else. Yeah. Because, I mean, I'm reminded of, um, the mean one, which I was surprised made it out. I'm guessing. The Sousa state is possibly just as litigious as. Warner Brothers slash DC, but I don't think their pockets are quite as deep. So I don't quite know how many lawyers they can throw the problem. Right. Right. So I don't know what kind of deals reached here, but. More power to Mm hmm. So yeah, that'll be coming on DVD and Blu ray and there is a VHS edition out there, but it's sold out pretty instantly on Amazon. So if you can find one in the wild, good luck to you. Yeah. Yeah. Actually, no, you didn't take my pick for this week. Mine is June zero. Um, film from a couple of years ago in an Israeli film. About the trial of Adolf Eichmann. Oh, I didn't get a chance to see it, but now it's on Blu ray and we'll get the chance to. Neat. Mm hmm. I got a catalog title for us. No, not this week. Fair enough. Last emperor is coming on four K from the criterion collection. Game night, which I have not seen, but very much want to, because I've heard very interesting things about is coming on four K. So, yeah, I mean, there, there, there are a couple of things out there here. Did you mention the alpha bill? I did not mention the alpha bill because I don't see the alpha. Alpha bill coming out on four K. Felini. Mm hmm. I can frequently take or leave Felini, but I understand there are those who are quite a gog. Got anything to avoid? Uh, no. Not seeing anything terribly egregious. Coming out this week. All right. I mean, I could make a joke about Navajo Joe. The Bert Reynolds action vehicle from. What was it like 70, no, 60. 68. But. Yeah. 66. Oh, 66. Mm hmm. All right. Got a question? Yeah. Actually, I do. Okay. I was thinking about it while just pondering things in the yard earlier today. And why is it that hallways have become such great action. Scene locations. Okay. Why do you think that is? I mean, there are plenty of examples. Old boys, the one. Yeah. I mean, there's no piercer. I mean, what is a train moving hallway? Yeah. My. Instant idea is that. Limitations. Demand creativity. Mm hmm. So that is a limited space. That is a. You know, you have a lot of space to move, perhaps. End to end, but you don't have a lot of space to move side to side or up and down. Mm hmm. And that. Will then. Require. Creative thinking to make things interesting. Yeah. Okay. That that makes sense. I mean, we didn't even mention. I'm thinking, you know, we're talking about hallway fight scenes. Yeah. Inception. Right. That's a hell of a hallway fight scene. Yeah. So. Yeah, I think it's a matter of. You can. When you can't do everything. No, when you can't do anything, it forces you to require new come up with new ways to do something. Gotcha. Yeah. All right. That makes sense. Makes sense. John got a question for me. Yes. Yes, I do. Mm hmm. Okay. Yes. Yes, I do. Okay. Hallways. We just talked about. What are three other. Perhaps underutilized. Settings. Particularly. Rooms, areas, etc. That have that kind of limiting quality to them. That you'd like to see used more often. Subways. The actual trains or the stations or. The tunnels. Okay. For much the same reason. You know, but then you also get into lack of light. Yeah. And. How do you. Visually convey something like that. Mm hmm. Creatively with. Staying with the idea of the location. And so, yeah, I think some ways would be maybe an interest subway tunnels would be interesting one. Okay. I think. A. Like a. Confined space. On the ocean. On the ocean. Maybe not a house but so much as a yacht. Yeah. That, you know, I think. Could make for some really good tense storytelling. All is lost. Yeah. Dead call. And. Not enough rooftop action and. Sky scraper rooftop. Okay. You know, I'm not talking about. A, you know, four story. I'm talking. 80. Yeah. Which actually brings us back to ghost protocol. Yep. I had a thought. How about. And for all I know this may have been done on a certain Apple TV plus show. It would be. Difficult not impossible to do this in the modern day but for whatever reason I'm seeing it. In terms of. Like the 60s, maybe the 70s. How about a space capsule. Oh. Oh. Yeah. That could be great. Especially considering and I'm just coming up with this thought now. Zero G. Well, that's a lot of what I SS was. Okay. And it worked. Worked rather well. I'd be up with more of that. All right. Hey. Hey, John. Let's go to the movies. What are we going to go see? First and most of the things to see right now continues to be Deadpool and Wolverine. Yeah. Cause. Awesome fun. Music. Laughs. Et cetera. All around a good time. Next most of the things to see right now is DD. Okay. Cause it's. It got me for a, for a while there. It was like. How are we going to redeem this utter moron? And eventually they did. Okay. Last most of the things to see right now. Is kneecap. Yeah. Interesting. I've got three heavily R language pictures. This time around, but kneecap's a hoot. Like I said. Okay. If Beavis and butthead go train spotting ends up on the DVD cover. It's a. I'll be. On cloud nine. Okay. Also a bonus fourth one. Yeah. I also saw Sing Sing. Mm. And I didn't. Love it quite as much as you and Katie did, but it is an excellent piece of work. Yeah. Really is. It inspired an interesting thought and me which I'll mention when we're done. I'm a video player of choice. Be it DVD Blu ray or streaming on the Blu ray or DVD end of things. Definitely the bike riders. Okay. Well worth your time. Just wish there was more to the special features. And as far as streaming. You can get the fall guy on demand. You can also get the Blu ray of that as well. Sure. And run things out with. Worth a rental fear. Yeah. I want to take the opportunity to mention our email address one more time, man. Let me on movie bunker dot com.
