It's no longer, you know the offseason We're fully entrenched in the preseason again. We're recording this a little bit Before it'll publish so hopefully nothing too crazy happens between now the next five to six days that makes this episode of I don't know there's nothing that could happen to make this Complete nonsense, but how does it feel to get back up to bills? Not her family stadium the what is it the is it the ice family auditorium who has the no it's stealing pipe, right? Yes, don't pipe. Yep. How's it feel to get back up to Manhattan and get some press conferences in under your belt? It's I mean, I I enjoy this time of year. I had the first trip that I made Back up there for you know this season or whatever was the first open practice of the year and that like it was Just like making that drive on the way there was very fun And like getting up there and going and watching practice for whatever it was like I think it ended up being like 35 minutes or something 35 plus that we got to see And it wasn't much, but it was fun Just have football there and then I think Drew and I stood outside talking football for 30 minutes So it was a it was a joy and then I joked Because you know, I obviously don't live in Manhattan right now So I had a bunch of work that I needed to do afterwards So I needed to go find somewhere to do it. Well, I was kind of hoping my boy Mitch Fortner would be like Hey, you can come work at the Cayman studio or whatever. He said nothing to me that day So I was like well, I texted my wife and I said I think I'm gonna go be weird guy and weird old guy in the student union and do my work right here So I went in there and knocked it all out and then the road trip home was was a little bit of fun because it was a two-hour drive turned into three and a half almost four hours because of the The traffic on I-7 because of the the accident that happened So that was there's a lot less fun dealing with that But it's it's so good to have it back and it helps that The buzz like for K-State football each season kind of continues to grow But we're not at this point yet with Chris climate teams where you're really up for one year But then you can kind of see like the giant cliff up ahead and you're gonna dump down for a season or two Like kind of happened towards the end of Snyder where it was really herky jerky And it just kind of feels like K-State keeps ascending. So it's fun to talk about I Haven't been in the student unions since they renovated it or in the new business building And I feel like I've missed my window where I can like just do that So I'm probably depending on like I don't even have any family members getting ready for like I don't know how I can finesse myself. I think you're just to see that stuff I actually think you're in a better spot right now to be able to just be like yeah I was a student here X amount of years ago. I want to see some of this stuff like You can do it now. I think I'm in the I'm in the gray area where it's like if somebody saw me They they would think he's probably still in school, but then it would be weird because I'm not Like I think of my dad anytime. We're up there He just he wants to take a stroll through Seton Hall or something and see what's going on there and all these other buildings And I always thought that was kind of strange growing up But I get it now like you get back into Manhattan. You get back on campus. You're like, yeah, this is this is fun It's fun to go down memory lane. I might have to hold off until the summer I'm far more intimidated by like teenagers and college students than anything in the world. It's like I don't want to be around these kids Yeah, I wouldn't do it during the school year. Yeah, I want nothing to do with that. So maybe Uh, well, hell, there's no there's no basketball over winter break this year So so I'll probably have to wait until next summer and maybe Uh, july 2025 I'll have to show up. Hopefully on a day. There's no enrollment or anything and uh, just wander through the union Um, we'll we'll get into uh, the blitz month episode before we do we'll give a shout out to our friends over at manhattan brewing company Mason, I don't know if you heard but guess what they are opening a permanent spot and and I believe If this releases when I think it's going to I believe their permanent spot opens Tomorrow or the following friday right down there in which at all the mbc lounge they will be open on friday saturday and sunday So you can get a little taste of manhattan every weekend in which at all it's where I will be before and after That pivotal game with the shockers on december 21st uh, so maybe we'll have to have some sort of uh Official boss goes boys event there. Uh, we're going to get into it. This is a little gimmick that you guys used to play Uh on the game. I feel like we've done a version of this when you've come on before it's It's really just to take a thumbs up thumbs down hot or not. Yes or no call it whatever you want it But you guys called it book it or cook it. I think it started off as a little bit of a joke Mine are a little bit more serious a little like all right. I want to get your temperature on I think I have five different questions for you so you can either book it meaning Hey, you agree with it or cook it. Hey, you're throwing it on the grill. You're cooking it That's that's not going to be the case The first one and uh, I can't remember was was it you that called markey seagull uh stone hands to his face Yeah, that was me. Yeah When you did that, I I laughed pretty hard, but the first one book it or cook it markey seagull leads the team in interceptions this year Mmm I mean, I I did a Factor fiction a couple of weeks ago. I think that was Talking about seagull and how many picks he ended up having Uh, so i'm gonna i'm gonna say i'm gonna book it. I think he does do it He's just in the position to make that play so many times and as somebody that uh When I was younger had a hell of a time trying to catch a football It just seemed like anytime like it meant something I couldn't do it I got better at that as I grew up. I'm more sure-handed now Uh, hopefully that over the course of a year Uh, the hands have come in a little bit better because he really was just in the right spot at the right time Almost every game it seemed like uh, and it just kind of popped off of him So I do think he leads the team in interceptions this year and that's something that k-state needs because I mean, chris climate talked about it. The first time he brought it up was after the oklahoma state game last year But he was kind of like, you know, we can point to problems on the offense But the defense has to force turnovers like we have to get turnovers And that was something that k-state didn't do a lot of last year Mainly because those situations were interceptions were there for them They just kind of came off of their hands. So uh, I think that he does get it done Does he take any of them back for a touchdown this year? Yes, he takes at least Two back for a touchdown this year. Oh, I like it Uh, second one book it or cook it avry johnson is either the first or second team all conference quarterback for the post-season awards Book it as well. I think i mean If you just if we're projecting here, this is the thing with the preseason awards that came out like Some people project others are like, well, i'm really using this as an extension of awards from last year But you're lying to yourself if you don't think that avry johnson with the weapons He's going to have on offense And with his skill set is not going to be one of the two best quarterbacks in the big 12 this coming season So I this is an easy one for me. Absolutely. He will be one or two And I I think if everything goes according to plan, it's going to be number one All right, the next one Book it or cook it dj get-ins is in the top five of big 12 running backs with yards from scrimmage So that's rushing and receiving combined top five in the big 12 Some are calling this the year of the running back in the big 12 Yeah, I mean it definitely is last year was was really good This is going to be a tricky one because you've added some war teams Now and and they'll bring some running backs with them as well, but uh, I just I don't know I I'll say book it because we did see Obviously, he was over 1200 yards rushing last year. He was also Uh, you know k-states fourth highest receiver last year And he made it wasn't just like he was getting a ton of balls He made plays in the passing game like k-state picked their spots and seemed like okay This is the right time to use dj. We're gonna get 50 yards here in a touchdown Um, I mean the UCF he was good through the air the pop tarts bull He had the first touchdown in the game catching the ball. So I will I will book that one as well I think he does it that one's going to be close. That's the one I don't feel the best about right now Just because there are so many other running backs and we know that like touches in the air to running backs Dylan edwards is probably going to command a lot of the ones that would have gone to dj get-ins a year ago All right, fourth k-state has three pre-season top 25 teams coming to bill snider family stadium Booked her cook at k-state has its first undefeated home slate since 2012 I'm going to book that one as well. I I think this is a really good team and I think uh, the teams that are Right there and in the mix. I mean There's just no possible way like the story there's no way that the story Starts for a rejaunson by losing the streak at home to ku like that cannot happen. It won't happen Uh, and then you think about the others that come in like they're going to be motivated against oklahoma state Talk about turnovers alan bowman was The most turnover prone quarterback in the country or in the big 12 last year and he did not turn the ball over against k-state They're going to make him pay this year teams are going to know. Okay. It's the all a gordon show and then what Uh, so I don't worry about that and I think arizona They're going to have such a like an adjustment period at the start of the year They they don't concern me as much as some they're they're talented they got the guys But I don't know that the new coaching situation is going to provide fruitful results, especially on the road early in the year All right, and those friday games for for teams going on the road or a pain in the ass Like it doesn't matter who or where you come from Uh, but like the pac 12 they have experience with it The the way that those games go it makes it really difficult for road teams in k-state found that out last year Having to play on a friday on the road at oklahoma state and that games played man hat and I think k-state wins the game But it's just weirder week you go on the road Like there's so many differences with how you're doing things like it it causes problems. It creates weird outcomes I love it and we'll see if we go five for five the final one bucket or cook it A wide receiver goes for over 898 yards from scrimmage, which I believe was the number malike knolls had in 2022 I am going to I will cook that one. I think jase brown will be really good I think kegan johnson will be better. We'll see that but really what this comes down to is this team is going to have If everything goes according to plan just more options there that can be like legit Playmakers not saying that they are You know that some of the best of the best or whatever like they're not guys It would make will howard's job easier at quarterback But they are they are going to be better and each of them has big play potential We know it with jase brown. We know it with jaden jackson. Obviously just decided the first hour many games last year You're one of the first touchdown Keegan johnson has that and the staff is really high on him and then donte sifus if he gets back to normal Like those are four guys Right off the rip that you go. Okay. They're going to need the football and they're all going to get touches And then the distribution that will involve dylan that words and dj giddens They're still going to use the tight end. They like garret oakley will swanson has had a good start to camp They like what's going on there and then You start to wonder too if if a guy like trays spivy or or andre davis do they make strides so where they have to crack the rotation Later on in the year So I just think there's a wealth of guys to get it to that This isn't going to be k state teams where the leading receiver had 500 yards because they couldn't throw the ball I think it's going to be just so well distributed with how many guys can make plays through the air I love it. Let's get into it The first question who is going to be the offensive MVP can pick whoever you want depending on who you choose I will have follow-ups. So if you take the easy way out Talk about aviary. I'll ask about someone else if you if you Weirdly enough a lot of people are just like all right. Avery's easy and then they pick someone else So if you go that route, I'll have an aviary question as well But who do you want to go with for your offensive MVP? I mean, it's aviary johnson. It's Like it's it's again. It's very simple. He makes things very simple But so does dj giddens like I I just wrote a thing that it will have already been out But about will k state have a 1000 yard rush or this season which the last three years they have two years of deuce vaughan dj giddens did it last year Uh, and I think seven of the last 12 seasons, maybe they've done it um and a couple of those were quarterbacks and then Alex Barnes and whatever else, but uh, we know that there's going to be more guys involved there Avery johnson is going to play a part in it, but Avery and dj giddens just make things easy like it's really simple to just say they're ballers and they make plays like That's what it is. And and I think Obviously with the way that they want to do the offense this year They want the passing game to be more involved. I think they understand that part of what they were missing last year Is that in certain games against a certain caliber of opponent they didn't have the Two or three play drive where boom we got a touchdown Instantly that they needed and I think we saw that at times when Avery johnson was at quarterback They did have that last year Whether it was the game at texas tech with his legs or where you know early in that pop tarts bowl They got what 15 yards and then boom they got the other 50 they needed for a touchdown with dj giddens Um, and then other moments like there's just an explosiveness that will come with it They'll want to use the passing game to do it and Avery johnson can throw the football like Even as a high school quarterback. You could tell how he threw the ball. He just didn't always have the most reliable receivers At at maze sometimes, which I don't know This is not a dig at them But if it wants to make you happy or anything as a k state fan Uh, those receivers are now one's gonna go to nebraska and one's going to be at ku So, uh, maybe that's just positivity moving forward for you that the guys that struggled sometimes to catch the ball for Avery Are not going to be catching the ball for him now Uh, so he'll be really good there. He's obviously going to have the leg aspect of it There's a lot going into it, but he he's just so so good and so talented And this team is built and this staff is built to cater to him and what he needs to do Whether it's throwing the ball or running the ball So you mentioned djs may be being the number two. I I have a question about dj for you I feel like And I i'm addicted to twitter and message board. So I I read Opinions from people that uh, you know who cares But I feel like he quietly because if he has a thousand yards he ends up in the top four Three or four. Yeah, if he duplicates what he did last year Which is 1226 yards Uh, he would put him at fourth all time and be like less than 30 yards behind john huber who's in third Yeah, and it would be number three of running backs right because Wasn't calling client in the top five. No, it's it's Sprull's deuce and then oh john huber. Okay. Yeah. Well, okay. So regardless And and maybe this maybe maybe we have to talk about john huber as well But do you think that dj giddens is quietly Becoming like already setting the table for folks five ten years from now to look back and say Is dj giddens the most underrated case eight football player of all time? Uh, something that I think you could maybe say about john huber by the way, but Yeah, having that production while only being a starter for one year so far Uh, I think it's insane what he's been able to accomplish and he I mean he's only kind of talked about You know amongst the all-time greats I think I think that's probably true and people in the moment right now are probably thinking well That's crazy. Like we know how good dj giddens is but One of the things that's going to probably impact dj's legacy Is that he can't he like meshed with deuce von they were on the roster at the same time they both played important roles at the same time and deuce was electric was like a fascinating and awesome player that you know, you're lucky to have those guys at k state and Dj is coming through and he is doing just as much and you know There's a pretty high likelihood that he decides. Hey, I don't need that extra year But if he did come back for a senior season Then you're talking like it's going to have to punch you in the face because he will be looking at surpassing deuce von in terms of rushing totals and all this other stuff But I think it's just I mean deuce had a lot going for him. He had a strong personality It helps to be different with his size and that stands out and so it's like oh, that's our little guy We really love him whereas DJ giddens walks on the field and he looks like what a big 12 football player is supposed to look like And he just wants to go out there and play football and go fish like that's what he wants to do He doesn't want to talk about it. He doesn't want to do anything But those things and he just is going to go do his job So I think that there are a couple of things contributing to that, but yeah, he he probably will be just because He came right after Deuce and that's that's such a tough thing to do because I mean deuce is going to be a ring of honor guy But like dj giddens is going to have just as much to to say I should be up there as well And especially if they can win a big 12 title over the next season or two, which they should Well, not only that but also timing it against some of his peers in the big 12 like Yeah, did he end up second team or was he honorable mentioned all last year? But it's like, you know, you have all the Gordon you have Devin Neal you have But you know, neither was bro Like deuce deuce would never got like that top honor in the big 12 because He had a deal with you know, everything going on with bijon robinson at that same time He he lucked out because he he got all the uh, and like been and they had a cheat with they had a cheat with been sent Because they did they wrote there's always another good tie in so I actually love that they did that Who was the guy who was the tight end when they first showed up because from nebraska? Uh, oh man. I can't remember who it is now It was it was in it was in the very first year and they they called him a full back Um, he started Yes, yes. Yes. Yes. Yeah, and they called him a full back and he got all big 12 honors Although like I don't I think he like lined up in the back field like twice the entire season. Yeah Um, but but but I you're correct in that and what's funny is he was never first team all big 12 deuce von But I think he was first team all american Uh At least twice because of the all-purpose Uh positioning, uh, so so that that is a great little that might have to be a trivia question, uh here in a year or two Um, so that was a great call outs. Um, all right. So that's offensive mvp. I've said this every time defensive mvp I think in my head I could make an argument for like eight or nine guys here There has been a favorite so far. I'm interested where you will land but uh, who is going to be the defensive mvp? Yeah, I defense that there are a lot of guys and I I kind of wrestled with it and then I got to a point where Probably like 20 minutes before we started. I was like, okay. I'm pretty locked in. I'm going to go with this guy Uh, but like the more that it's it's gone on. I I have just more I guess More of a tough time kind of coming to a decision because I you can make the case all over the place but I think in terms of What the impact will probably be of somebody Uh, I think you probably just have to take The easy answer of one of the linebackers because they're going to be you know heavily involved Uh, but I would probably go with with despranel just because I think His ceiling in terms of what he can do to truly impact a game is probably higher than austin more at this point like austin More is a really good player but it's like If we're on a scale of one to 100 austin more is going to be in between 80 and 95 all the time, but like could he get up to that next level Despranel feels like that that that's there for him and I feel like those guys obviously They're going to be around everything as much as they can be Whereas like if you go with one of the dbs because there are a lot of options there Um, there just may be games where they're not involved for whatever reason So I think those are probably the two guys that I would throw out there Because there are a lot of defensive ends that can step up I'm just not convinced that any of them are going to do it in a way that truly disrupts the game by themselves As at least vice president if not president of the despranel fan club. I love that pick You're the first one to go with despranel as of time of recording now. I'm recording some stuff out of order So maybe Depending on some other picks someone might slide in front of you Uh, but i'm all about that and he's on my shortlist. It's it's him Markey seagull and cheeti or like the three guys i'm really leaning towards but I I love the despranel pick All right, we'll do who is going to be the newcomer of the year Uh, I am going with another defensive player And I am taking jordan riley because he is one of the guys that Has stood out at different points. He looks the part and I think there's just Probably some pretty strong buzz for him and in addition to that like it seems like every year of chris climb And we've seen a transfer db come in and it's like game one or two You're like, oh, yeah, that's already one of our five best players on defense like he can come in and make an impact for us Uh, so I just think the track record is really good there And I think that uh, he probably takes the cake and I mean dylan edwards is the honorable mention but Dylan edwards doesn't have to be he doesn't have to be a hero He doesn't have to be super human because he's got a re johnson. He's got dj gins He's going to have an okay offensive line and there are going to be other weapons on offense So I uh, I will go jordan riley All right, who is going to be the breakout player of the year? Uh, so this is someone who is returning we we allow red shirt freshman if you want to go here But who is going to be the breakout player? This is uh, I don't know if this is the guy that's going to do it But this is the guy that if he did do it, it would be the most impactful to k state this year And this goes to the defense vins where i've been talking Uh, but I will go with tobi awesome saw me. I think that that is the guy where obviously you look at him And speaking of dj gins looking like a big 12 football player Tobi looks like a big 12 football player And if you can get it to fall into place for him to where he can go and have an impact for you That would be really significant and I I think that he's the one that's in line now that they are Dead set you're going to be a defensive in for us None of the defense of ends on the roster should have their spots set in stone in terms of hey You're getting this many reps a game. It's going to be whoever goes out there and takes it and shows they can make an impact So that's who I will roll with Do you remember uh shamaikul more mike more He went from outside linebacker to pass rush specialist on the edge Had some classes with mike more when I was a senior And I had was I saved some really easy electives for my final year So that that's where I got to become buddies with mike more Uh, i'm hoping for mike more like on steroids Metaphorically not actual steroids tobi stay away from that But I would absolutely love it if he was the breakout player I just think of him in in this same context of 2021 big 12 media days down in arlington It's like I've already done most of my stuff in the day. So i'm just kind of hanging out there at my table or whatever And and why at tomsen comes along and and sits down and we're just we're talking shooting the breeze on case state right there And he he says to me He's like who's the defensive guy that you think like needs to break out this year and be And so we're kind of talking and we both are like it needs to be phylics any decay at the time Just phylics any decay and I mean it worked out that you know the the next two years We're pretty special of phylics at defensive end for case state And that's one of those that it feels like it may not happen for him like I could understand people saying well He's been in the program now for all these years and like we haven't heard much from him But it takes time to develop and it's tough when you are getting jostled Back and forth between positions now that you know that you're in one spot You can just take all of your focus and put it there And he's got the build he's got a lot of things going for him. So I will I will give a shout out to my fellow witchita resident All right, the next one my favorite question. What is going to be the pendulum game of the season This is a fun question this year because it feels like For however long i've been going on with you the answer has been the texas tech game wherever it's been, you know It's like oh well texas tech you're going to love it here right here or whatever Uh, you don't play texas tech this year. So that's helpful and for a lot of other reasons I think it's actually This might be the the easiest that the answer has been Since you've been asking this question because it doesn't feel as cheaty, you know where you're like Well, you know game six or seven it's going to be really pivotal or whatever I will go game number five against oklahoma state at home. That's the one to me that stands out because The non-conference essentially it does not matter. It's going to feel like it matters though for k state But you're going to that road game at two lane They should win that one given all the turnover two lanes had you're a good team like you should win that game Arizona at home, Arizona. I think they win it but like Arizona is going to be solid and if you lose it, it doesn't impact your standing in the big 12 but I'm thinking big picture here and if you beat Arizona, you should beat be why you who's not going to be very good jerry bohannan is probably going to be their quarterback and then you come get oklahoma state and What will be impactful here is if you have no losses and you beat oklahoma state you feel like We're kind of home free here. You only have two teams left on your schedule that you're like Okay, this is going to be at grind ku and at Iowa state Everybody else you're like if we just do what we do We should win those games like they should not be tricky So you're looking at one of the best regular seasons in k-state football history and setting you up to be Almost playoff proof like you could if you go unbeaten in the regular season in the big 12 I know that there are going to be a lot of doomsday preppers out there that are ready to just go all florida state fan on the the committee but I think a 12 and 0 team in the big 12 that would have wins over Arizona, oklahoma state ku and Iowa state I think that they would be I think that they would be in I think it wouldn't be much of an issue Even if you lost that conference championship game. So that helps you there. It just helps your standing. It helps vibes Whatever if you do have a loss going into that game whether it's at home to Arizona or you know First road game of the year in the big 12 Whatever may probably going to be a weird time you drop a crappy one to BYU That game against oklahoma state becomes pivotal because you don't have Really any room for air at that point in a 16 team league where the top two records go to the championship game and like This season goes from man some special things could happen It's going to be a lot of fun to if if that oklahoma state game is a loss and you already have one loss going into it the feeling of the season drastically shifts to where you're I mean it sounds loser-y to say but you're at that stage kind of going What is there to play for this year now, you know like yeah, it can be fun like all this other stuff but You lose that game early within the other like the energy is zapped from the season right off the bat So that is crucial and then obviously like if there is some other disaster scenario, you cannot lose that game So I think oklahoma state is the one that it's going to dictate the vibe of the season in a pretty significant way because the other thing would be The schedules for certain teams that I think will be good in the big 12 this year are pretty easy and navigable to where You could be sitting with one loss in the big 12 and you know week 11 or 12 You're I don't know if we're even going to get into the conference championship game because Utah could go unbeaten in conference play if you see what they have on their schedule Um, I don't know ku has lost some pieces from last year jaylin daniels is up in the air But if ku has everything go according to plan how they want their season to go They have a schedule that sets them up to be unbeaten late into the year So there's just a lot of that there where the pressure would really be put on and and you'd be squeezed out So that oklahoma state game Is pivotal and it's probably the best indicator on if k-state is ready to win the big 12 this year Or if you're just going to have to put all your chips into abry johnson's jr season And if they beat utah the week before That could be one of the greatest atmospheres in modern times for bills niner family stadium Because it would be a top 15 matchup Yeah, oh, yeah, it would it would be nuts Uh, all right, so we'll go to the next one. What is k-states regular season record going to be? Uh very rarely do I do this Um, but I just kind of feel like I have to because it's very easy and I think that they win the games that they like the big games on their schedule. I think they win them and then Somewhere along the way you have to say yourself. Okay, so Do they lose it colorado or west virginia or to houston or Arizona state or Cincinnati and it just seems ridiculous to think they do it So I I think k-state goes 12 and o this year. I think I mean There can be questions on this team, but I That's how much confidence I have in abry johnson like that's how good he is And how good I think he will be and then everybody else around him is just as good so and I mean Joe clanderman has graded his job chris climate has graded his job and I think I think matt wells has come in and has just been A stud immediately and conner riley's really good at his job. I think that's going to be a good marriage on the offensive side So this team has all the pieces in place In terms of schedule and the way that the team is setting up It's not as much of a sure thing as the 2022 team where We knew how good players were from 2021 now. They're a year older. They're ready for this They can do it in 2022. This is one of those where The pieces as they are falling in line You have to have them fall in line for it to happen this year, but I really think they can so I mean If they go 10 and 2 It's not a disappointment in terms of a k-state football season 10 and 2 should never be looked at like that But if k-state does go 10 and 2 Um You would probably it would have happened with you feeling like they left a game or two out there That they could have or should have won and the season looks drastically different at that point All right, so there is no doomsday scenario that i've been able to come up with at leaves k-state out of arlington at 12 and 0 I will say i've found multiple scenarios at eight and one in conference play that they don't Tie breakers are going to be nuts across college football this season Who is k-state playing and said big 12 championship or in the big 12 championship? And are they bringing home their second big 12 title in three years? Uh, yeah that I think that they will be playing utah And because utah is another one that when I looked at their schedule, I just thought to myself Where are the games that they lose on there? Probably utah's best chance for a loss this season Is uh, they go to oklahoma state for their fourth game of their seat of the season Which will coincidentally be their first conference game of the year. They play a Like their zeroth conference game week two against baylor at home But that will be their first one that counts After that like utah would be upset if they lost at home to Arizona who ever went there And then you say are we really going to lose Arizona state are we really going to lose the houston? Are we really going to lose the colorado? UCF could be tricky, but utah has the talent and the schedule just like k-state to where They should probably be the ones to get it done Your mark's probably hoping like your mark is probably You know doesn't need a blue pill or uh, shout out to blue chu Uh former sponsor he doesn't need that if if it's a 12 and over 12 and no in arlington So hopefully that happens. Hopefully case it comes out on top and then the final question I have to give a little love to drew galloway who uh, who uh, who floated this question for for the question ending uh blitz month Uh ever since the show's been going there's been a crazy massive job in college football that unexpectedly Opens, uh, you know, it's been oklahoma a couple times. Uh, alabama last year. We've seen Uh, you know brian kelly going down to lsu unexpectedly opening up the Notre Dame job seemingly every year So call your shot. What is going to be the job that shakes college football that opens this winter I think this is an easy one this year. It's going to be ohio state Right. I mean Ryan day, it's pretty cut and dry on what has to happen this year and wall I don't think michigan is as good as they've been the last three years. I think they're gonna add personally It like the big 10 is going to be tougher and this is probably a guy that has thought to himself Oh, you know what like We're going to have the monkey offer back a little bit. It's going to get easier. Hey michigan's, you know They're going to be on the downturn and it's like oh actually Go and look at what you have to deal with this upcoming season And you're going to have these new teams like organ that you have to go to Penn state will will give you a scrappy game in state college like it's not easy for what they have Going on this year Uh, and I just think like that's one of those where ohio state would have to have the conversation with themselves okay, are we really going to like Be okay with not accomplishing this as often as we've come up short with them like You have to be able to have a conversation with yourself like We should be doing this. We keep coming short of it. Even though that's still a really good season We need to be here. Let's shake something up to do it and Ask yourself this If you're relying on will hower to be your quarterback Is will hower going to win every game that he is supposed to win and be Careless or you know carefree in some games and be able to do it or is there going to be that that moment or two Where you're shaking your head and you're like Will there is five minutes to play we need 30 yards to get into field goal range Why did you just throw that interception like why did it happen like He he avoided it for the he avoided it for the most part in 2022 But it was a small sample size because k state only needed him against oklahoma state Baylor west virginia and ku which All those none of those teams That year outside of oklahoma state were bull eligible in that oklahoma state team like after the that was the first of Three or four losses to end the year for oklahoma state. So That's going to be the thing that you have to ask yourself So I think it's ohio state that's the one that it could open up and it could cause Chaos again for everybody. Yeah, if you're looking for an entertaining Coaching carousel that that's probably the way you laid it out would be the most entertaining. So uh, that's all I can I can paint The picture for you real quick like that would be obviously. Okay, ohio states open There's a ton of big names out there that ohio state could go out and get Or like if you want to paint the direct picture. It's oh, hey is ohio state smart enough to go higher lukefickle this time Like bring him home. So then wisconsin opens. That's another really good big 10 job with big 10 money and big 10 aspirations Could you sway somebody that opens something up and and command somebody like ohio state opens up the dominoes to fall to where another big job goes. It's like the caliperi kentucky thing where Okay kentucky opens up And that means somebody else is going to have a significant job open up It didn't work out as you know as crazy as it could have because they ended up with mark poke But like there was a scenario there where it's okay arkansas is open They're looking for a bunch of big names. They get caliperi now kentucky's open now byu's open a big 12 job like There's that's where I think ohio state could cause the chaos is that everybody that gets hired Two three four degrees of separation in the ohio state thing Would be a really really really good football job Well, not only that but ryan day I I mean, I I don't know if he's gonna ever win a national title with ohio state, but he's a damn good coach So it's like okay if he is now uh Open does someone else make a move does a Yeah, I don't know if like dabbo only goes You know seven and five do they fire dabbo because since an adi say oh scott satterfield sucks Why are we doing this to ourselves? Let's go uh get the the other guy from ohio that's been in here Well, I I mean that would be amazing for them But I I think I had on someone from since an adi during behind enemy lines. I think they said the entire sattersfield Contract was guaranteed So I don't know if they have that sort of money. Yeah, I think they did something really stupid with him Oh, they would secondary to just hiring him in the first place, but yeah That was not a good move. So that would be a great one.
