Hello, today we're exploring ways to improve and/or obtain mental wellness through a practice called hasochism. Today more than ever, stress is killing us. Many people complain about the pace of life and how it prohibits peace of mind and rest. How can we manage this phenomenon more well-known to the masses, a stress? Studies prove that mismanaged stress will lead to a psychological, behavioral, or biological problem. One way to break free from stress, which can inflame your body, make you sick, is to adapt a form of hasochism. The word hasochism, it comes from the Greek word isihiya, which means quiet or rest. The tradition goes back and has roots in early Christian monasticism, but it took definitive form in the 14th century at a place called Mountothos in Greece. This contemplative monastic tradition, rooted in Eastern Christianity, involves seeking divine stillness through uninterrupted prayer. You can also call it meditation. Reaching isihiya or quiet through prayer and meditation will signal your mind to focus on one thing and one thing only. You'll get rid of the stream of thoughts that may be crowding your mind and causing that nasty stress. So, how do we do isihiya? It's really easy. Number one, you just get quiet. Silence all your screens and devices for about 10 minutes, or for the time you have allotted in a certain period. Next, two, combine isihiya with Andrew Wiles 478 Breathing Technique. Have you heard about it? Here's how it goes. One, inhale through your nose for four counts. Two, hold your breath for seven counts. Three, exhale through your mouth for eight counts. Simple as that. You'd be amazed at how this will silence your mind and allow you to bring that oxygen into your brain. Number three, go out into nature and walk, walk, walk without technology or talking. Silence your mouth, walk, breathe, and relax. You'll see how comforting it is. You'll be able to ground yourself in the element of mother nature. Simple as that. So, you can adopt and modify, if necessary, this practice of isihiya to more or less guard your mind from the noise which your senses have a habit of creating. To the silence, an inner prayer, or mantra, or meditation, you'll become more receptive to your inner voice. Essentially, friend, you will soothe and heal your soul, olekala. Once you've quieted that mind, you've made way for the intended purpose of the day and you can seize it. Carpy, keffi. As always, I wish you olekala all as well in your balancing of the mind, the body, and the soul for a life that you deserve, a beautiful life. In the meantime, I'm wishing you olekala all as well.
