All right, don't let's say the 77th annual Little League Baseball World Series in Williamsport continues today. Another opening round quadruple ever starting at one Eastern on ESPN and on ESPN Plus. I'm in a fun morning here folks delighted that you've chosen to get up with us. We're live with the C port brought to you by Patron. Perfection starts with Patron K-Marts and her Jed's Green. D-wood is in mid-season form. Harry's all excited about the Falcon's big acquisition of yesterday. We've got lots of football to get to in this hour people. But we begin again with the performance of the night. That man Aaron judges in the middle of it. But he didn't get it started. Juan Soto did. Let me show you Yankees White Sox yesterday. Top of one, no score, one out, nobody on Juan Soto. Bam! That is his fourth home run in four consecutive at bats. The last Yankee to do that was Bobby Mercer in 1970. Yanks are one-nothing league. Now we go to the 88. Yanks up 6-2. Soto is so high that they intentionally walk him to pitch to Aaron Judge who then properly does this. The 3-0. Aberdeen! D-Tillifield history number three hundred for Aaron Judge. The fastest man ever in Major League Baseball to reach the 300 home run battle. Brian Arruco with the call and the history that Judge is making 10-2 is the final score. But let me show you the history that Aaron Judge, the historic pace that he is on. I can divide it up into two separate sections. Okay so he's got 300 home runs. He did it in 955 games. The previous record, fastest to 300 home runs. As you see was Ralph Kiner. Look at the difference there. It's 130 games or whatever that adds up to him. Very bad at math. It's a lot of games. It's almost a full season of difference. And then if you're going to measure it by at-backs. This record had been held by Babe Ruth. This record had been held for 89 years by Babe Ruth. And Aaron Judge is the first man to break it. Aaron Judge is on pace to be one of the great home run hitters that ever lived. Let's get to football here. The NFL regular season kicks off three weeks from tonight. So I've asked my crew for three bold predictions. Harry, let me start with you. Give me a bold prediction for the upcoming season. The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback room will be an asset and not a liability to the Pittsburgh Steelers this season. I really truly feel that way. I know things probably didn't start off on the right foot when you look at the pre season. But I think at the end of the day, Russell Wilson and Justin Fields will have a productive season this year for the Pittsburgh Steelers and help guide this team to where they want to be. Okay, I like it. That's a good prediction. Dean would give me a bold prediction for 2024. Monte Adam's get traded to the Jets by Halloween. We so listen. That's not bold. Come on. That's not bold. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Hey, anyone who saw that? What was it received on Netflix? Yes. Yeah, you. You saw like, yeah, I have Devonta engines when he doesn't get that good course at play. Who do you got on that garden menshew? Ain't no common. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. It's exactly right. Yeah. Yeah. I could see that. Hear that McAfee Devonta Adams to the Jets by Halloween. Remember where you heard it first? One more. Kmart, give me a bold prediction. All right, Granny. Unlike Damien, I'm actually going to be bold with this one. How about Mike McCarthy gets fired mid-season? Oh, not that I want that to happen. Wow. Hear me out. Hear me out. I don't want that to happen. But we're talking about his Jerry Jones all in. Is he ever going to show that this is the moment? This is the time we're going to make people uncomfortable. If this season doesn't get off to a good start, Jerry needs to cut bait with somebody. That's fascinating because and Harry, you're making a face, the time you would think to do that would have been when Dan Quinn was on his staff who everyone knew was going to be a head coach or even when Kellen Moore was on his staff who people thought were trending towards being a head coach. I like this this bold prediction. Harry, your reaction. Yeah, I want to know if Jerry has the guts to do it. If things aren't right, with the Dallas Cowboys and they have a terrible start, is he bold enough to do it? Does he have the grapefruits to let go Mike McCarthy? Now, I'm petitioning for someone's job to be taken? But if things play out the way, you know, they might be trending right now. If the season isn't starting off correctly for the Dallas Cowboys, does Jerry, is he bold enough to do it? Well, I can tell everyone just to give you some behind the scenes. Dee Wood was having trouble with his audio. He couldn't hear Harry. I'm not joking around so I will tell you. Does Jerry have the grapefruits? And that's the term he used to make that mid-season change of it. Yes, I found it funny. Yes. Does he have the grapefruits? Okay, I like the way he put that. That's out there. He doesn't like if you make it if you make like that means the Cowboys season has been just catastrophic. Right. All for awful. You pull in the plug or like because he didn't he didn't pull the plug in the off season. What I was like, well, Belichick is out there. Rables out there. Who could he bring in? I know one seems to know where the Cowboys are going. Yeah. What is the future? Is that going to be the guy? Is CD like what are we? What are we doing? Let's let's analyze. Let's analyze what that is getting at. Okay. Let's take that. That is obviously a very bold tradition and it's fun. Do not want to happen to people. Right. We ask you to make them bold and and so that's all good. But what it is presupposing is something that could happen, which is the Cowboys could be bad. Right. The Cowboys, every team in that division has gotten better. In some cases, markedly better. Look around the rest of the conference. We see Green Bay on the come Detroit real good Atlanta. Harry's all excited about their high position yesterday. The Bears are a young team on the come up. The Rams are still good. Are we living in a world? Forget about whether they fire the coach or not because we get that that's that's gonna skew everyone's perspective. Are we living in a world where you think when we get to mid season, we're gonna say, you know what? The Cowboys just aren't that good a team. Absolutely. I could like, I I think a lot of people think that Cowboys are less a team now than they were in 2023. Mm hmm. I mean, you got questions along the office line. Who's been running the football? Who's the number two wide receiver? On the defensive side, you still got pieces that you got to replace. Dan Quinn's not there. So there's a lot of questions as it relates to the Dallas Cowboys. And again, all the combat their main competitions got better. Yep. Philadelphia's gotten better. You know what I mean? Like like San Francisco, San Francisco, San Francisco, Detroit, Green Bay, Chicago, the Rams, all these things. Seattle. Like I don't want to forget them either. Like all these teams got better. Are we in a world Harry where you could see the Cowboys is not making the playoffs this year? Oh, of course. That's why I think the you know, the way they start the football season, I think it's very important. That's why CD lamb getting the camp as soon as possible is imperative to them, at least trying to have some success this season. If he's not there then and being an integral part of their offense, then who are they resorting to offensively? Who is the dynamic playmaker? Who is the explosive guy? And they're so one dimensional and they lean on CD lamb for just about everything. He is the offense, in my opinion. If he's not there for week one versus the Cleveland Browns when you have a team that told us last year versus the Cincinnati Bengals in game one that they didn't care about Joe Burrell or Jamar Chase, a T Higgins. They were going to play man coverage when you have that still shuffling pieces on the offensive line and you got to go against Miles Garrett, a defensive player of the year, like what are you going to do offensively? But also here's something I don't think a lot of people are talking about even though I love Mike Zimmer and that's one of the toughest defense I've played against in my career. There's a whole new defensive system going into place. Dan Quinn is the head coach for the watch the commander. So that's another component that I don't think a lot of people are paying attention to as well is how is that defense going to be in a new system? It's a fascinating way of looking at it and again came out, you kind of got us there around about way, but it's a fascinating one. A lot of people were waiting for Stephen A Smith to come back from his vacation. I was one of them because we heard all this talk. There's been so much conversation about particularly CD lamb, but also Dak Prescott and all the moves that the Cowboys haven't made either with breathing in other players or paying their own. And Stephen A Smith came back from his vacation yesterday on first take and had this fascinating thought about the owner of the Cowboys. Did it ever occur to anybody that the time has arrived where we could legitimately ask what is Jerry Jones definition of winning? Is it headlines? Is it that you're worth $10 billion? Is it that you're winning back pages? When you look at the Cowboys, because of the quote unquote mismanagement, it appears to make no sense unless if you're Jerry Jones and they talking about my Cowboys, then that pub does make sense. That might be one could legitimately ask. And that's my buddy, but I could look him in the face and ask him to his face. Is your definition of a championship? Winning headlines? Because at this point, that's what appears to be the case. It is really interesting. Look, no one questions and I'm sure Stephen A doesn't question would Jerry Jones like to win a championship? Of course he would. Everyone wants to. But the question is, has he proven himself willing to go the extra mile, particularly financially, in ways that other owners have to try and achieve that? The answer to that question is no. The growth in the financial piece, the worth, the value of his franchise has been exponential, unlike anything that we've ever seen in the history of American sports. He's done that brilliantly. I can demonstrate it for you right now on a graphic if you would like to see it. He bought the team for $140 million that included the stadium in 1989. It's now worth $10.3 billion and that number only figures to continue to go up. He is a huge part of the reason for that. He is a huge part of the reason for the enormous growth of the National Football League in general during his tenure. He is rightfully in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, which not many owners are for that reason. So there are any number of ways to praise Jerry Jones and show respect to him because he is a person deserving of that. That said, the question of is winning his first priority in the way that it is for some others is a fully legitimate question to raise. It is absolutely a fully legitimate question and I brought up last hour is Jerry Jones willing to make people uncomfortable in the Dallas Cowboys organization? Because it seemed like for the past 30 years, this organization has kind of been sleep walking. People are very comfortable wearing a star with the Dallas Cowboys. We've talked about what have we been talking about all off season with the as relates to the Dallas Cowboys? The fact that they have a lame duck head coach. The fact that their quarterback is going into the last year of his deal. He's about to be an unrestricted free agent. That's fact that CD Lam wants to get a new con. Could we make the case that that that Jerry Jones is making people uncomfortable in order maybe to try to spur on the Dallas Cowboys to reach their their possible potential here? I'm just plain double zab. Listen, we've been hammering the Dallas Cowboys for the lack of moves that we see other organizations of making. All I'm saying is, Hey, Jerry Jones might be trying to shake the tree here and just make people uncomfortable within the Dallas Cowboys organization. I get it to this point. He hasn't shown himself to want to do the uncomfortable things necessary to win a Super Bowl. But my argument would be if you have to make your head coach uncomfortable, then that tells me that in the off season, you should have made a move. You know, you know what I'm saying? Like I don't like the idea of having your head coach feeling uncomfortable. It's like, no, this is our guy. Same thing with our quarterback. This is our guide. Now let's roll. At the end of the day, this is a team that didn't win a playoff game last year and there isn't any obvious reason to think they should get better than they were a year ago. They may take a step backwards. They may not, but I haven't seen anything obvious that suggests they should get better. Quick final word, Harry, go. It's just amazing to me because if the Dallas Cowboys, Greenie, are able to make a Super Bowl or actually win one, can you imagine what the organization will be worth after that? It'll be astronomical. The numbers would jump so high it'll be unbelievable. I would also say when you look at the last 10 Super Bowl winners, you don't see any of those owners acting the way we see Jerry Jones on a daily basis. He is a unique figure in sports today, frankly, and certainly in the NFL, in some ways it has worked extraordinarily well and in others a little bit less so. Coming up, we might have a little bit of an outside the box idea of what direction they might go for a coach if they do make a change. You'll hear that as we continue. Plus coming up. Hey, if you didn't see this here today, Harry Douglas, former Atlanta Falcon, when his team traded for Matthew Judon, was fired up. Bird call. For a time pro bowler. Matthew Judon. Welcome to the letter where the players play. Oh my gosh. I went in there yelling screaming, hugging my kids. Matthew Judon, someone that can play the run very, very well. Someone that can go get the quarterback and sack them. Somebody that's not physical but physical. Okay. I love the enthusiasm. Okay, your main do for you. Okay. How are you? Why did you feel the need to buckle the chin strap? That's the one I find the most famous thing is that. Granny, I'm just glad you know that I'm ready, baby. I'm ready for everything. It's been an unbelievable all season. We signed Kirk Coggins, AKA Kirk Thuggins. We signed Mr. We drafted Mr. Duraag himself, Michael Pierce Jr. So now we are not only do we have our quarterback for the now, we have our quarterback for the future. I like the draft and the guys that they drafted. We win and got Matthew Judon. Oh my goodness. Welcome to Atlanta, where the players play, baby. We know what Granny, we ready to roll. How good? How good? I'm with you. I'm actually I'm with you. I think the Falcons are a sneaky interesting pick to be way better than most people who gave them credit for it. Give me the prediction. How many games they win this year? I think they're going to win 11 games, Granny. I really do. Now the schedule starts off tough. You got Pittsburgh, Kansas City and Philly. I believe we can do our thing in two of those three games. But the schedule gets easier once the rest of the schedule comes out and what's already come out. But once the rest of the games are going to be going to be played. So I'm really looking forward to Atlanta. They they've been missing a quarterback, a guy to unlock all that potential that they have on offense. Now, not only do they have one Granny, they have two. So if something happens to the starter, I'm perfectly fine with the backup coming in and what is left hand itself, just throwing a ball all over the place. But we go, we got Kirk Cousins. We don't see what Kirk Cousins right now. But if Michael Petty's junior have to come in the game, you talk about Mr. Cool Comic collected, the best throw of the football in this 2024 NFL Draft. Here we go. I just fired up. All right, let's keep the energy going with QB quick reads. Let's actually start with that team. D. What do you believe that Kirk Cousins pulls off Michael Pennick's the entire season? Yeah, I do. I do. I think the only way that Michael Petty's season feels that if is there's a Kirk Cousins injury, listen, which this is the same Kirk Cousins. That was on pace to throw from 5,000 yards. That is best season in the end of the last season. I think you will bring that same play in a system that he's very familiar with down in Atlanta. They have weapons that have never achieved the sum of their parts. Yes. Let's see it over. Yeah, the receiver, the tight end. Yeah. Came out your next. Well, Aaron Rodgers, lead the Jets to the AFC Championship game. Good Lord, I hope so. For your sake, honestly, honestly, because I don't know. I'm worried about your heart. Here's the thing on paper. If you just took the name Jets off with a roster, you would look top to bottom and say, this is a legit squad. Like they actually have wonderful players that could go deep in the playoffs. Just because Jets people want to say Samuel Jets, I think the Jets are loaded. That'll keep Aaron healthy. OK, I love it. Harry, I'm coming to you is a healthy Joe Burrow, the biggest threat in the AFC to Kansas City. Yeah, I agree with this whole quarterback in Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals team three and one versus patching my homes in the Kansas City Chiefs. Now, I think also a key piece of this is Jamar Chase. I don't know what on a Mike Brown is thinking, but you don't disrupt something, especially when you know Joe Burrow when he's healthy, your team is a Super Bowl contender. But I like the Cincinnati Bengals being the biggest threat to the Kansas City Chiefs if you have a healthy Joe Burrow. Well, here's something else Joe Burrow is a contender for. It's an award that generally players don't want to win. But these are according to ESPN bat, the favorites to win comeback player of the year this year. You see Rodgers is the favorite followed by Burrow, followed by Cousins, followed by Anthony Richardson. So I asked all the members of this group to put up who they believe will be the comeback player of the year this year. Kmart, which way did you vote? Always when in doubt Joe Burrow to me, he's the second best quarterback in the NFL behind Patrick Holmes. When he is healthy, he is an assassin on the football field. This guy is different, he is special, and he's lost in the Super Bowl by three points and he's lost in the ASU title game by three points. This kid is different. So with him healthy, I have no doubts about things. Do it. Yeah, I'm going with Aaron Rodgers. Listen, 40 coming off in Achilles. Aaron Rodgers never played with with the type of defense of his jazz hair. He's going that defense is going to get him a lot more possession in the web. Gary Wilson, Breece Hall. That's right. That opens the line. Come on, Adam. Right around Halloween? Yeah. See me and stop pandering to the host of the show. I already consider him a jet Harry. Harry, you're going, Joe Burrow. Yeah, I'm going with Joe Burrow. I don't think there's anyone in the NFL that plays the quarterback position from the pocket as well as Joe Burrow, but that confidence that he walks around with it trickles down to everyone amongst that organization. Let's not forget what the Cincinnati Bengals were before they drafted Joe Burrow. He went out there and he said the Super Bowl window is always open as long as he's the quarterback. I love him. I love Joe Burrow. And this is in no way a knock on Joe Burrow. I agree. He is one of the handful of best quarterbacks in the NFL right now. Aaron Rodgers is one of the handful of greatest quarterbacks in the NFL ever. And he is a person on a mission. He is a person who's coming back this year on a scorched earth. Oh, we've seen him with a chip on his shoulder before. I'd like what he did then. I like what he's going to do now. I put my money on Rodgers for comeback player of the year. As we continue, we're going to Pittsburgh. We're going to the Steelers training camp to find out the one adjustment that Justin Fields is making that might just win him the starting job. That's coming up. And so is this D would sneaky him most coming for you today, which NFL quarterback over the last two seasons has lost the most games as a starter over the last two regular seasons. Now let's talk about the play of the week. The pressure to follow a hypnotic and cognac, weighing heavy on the team. Hypnotic was in the cup, blue and ready for the play. And boom, on Yayo Tequila came in with a smooth assist to hypnotic's tropical fruit finish. Shaken, straight, poured, it was green and good. The play making splash shifted the tempo. Another great cocktail from the hypnotic team. Every season is hypnotic and tequila season. If not a liqueur, Bardstone, Kentucky, 17% alcohol by volume. If not, it reminds you to think wisely, drink wisely. All right, we approached the bottom of the hour. Sneaky Hemba was come for him for D Wood today. Here is the question. Which NFL quarterback has lost the most games as a starter over the last two seasons come by? Why you gotta give me such a negative question? Um, I'm going to go. Bryce Young. Okay, Bryce Young is only playing one. Oh, this is rough. But the right show is the last two seasons combined. As you can see, I'm not very good at this right here. No. What if I told you that the number one answer on this list and the number two answer on this list are in the same quarterback room right now. Oh, I knew it. And we talked about them a lot already today. And we're going and we're going there next. We're going there next. We're going to the next Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh. Russ. Russ is second. Come on. Come on, baby. Justin Fields is from Justin Fields. We tried so hard. I can't do that. There are no words to describe how hard I try to give him the answer to that question. Well, the two quarterbacks who have lost the most games in the last two seasons are Justin Fields who has lost 20 and Russell Wilson who has lost 19. Bryce Young is like, what did I do to you? Bryce Young only played one there. He lost. They were so bad. He talks to listen that one season. So that was a really bad game. Yeah, really bad. Yes. But we love you anyway. You're one of our favorite people despite that. Okay. And also, we're going to Pittsburgh. All right, man. You've done that. It's home of the NFL's most interesting. And as we now know, unaccomplished quarterback battle, Justin Fields fumbled a pair of snaps, took a pair of sacks and his Steelers preseason debut. Now, Mike Tomlin has maintained that Russell Wilson remains in pole position, but the whole thing is fascinating. You want them to bring in Brooke Pryor, who's, you know, Brooke from our show from overall the years and does a fabulous job covering the Steelers four. She's in Pittsburgh. And you have a piece up on espn.com about the work, the very specific work, Brooke, that Justin Fields is doing to try and win this job after what was a very rough debut. What can you tell us? Greenie, the next time that Justin Fields lines up in shotgun, I want you to look at his feet. He's going back to beginning with his right foot forward. And then when he receives the snap, he's flipping it back and moving his right foot back and left foot forward. That is the natural base that he had when he played at Ohio State and when he was in his first year in Chicago. He went to his quarterback's coach, Oliver Bozeman, in January and said, "Hey, Obie, I want to get back to that place where I was playing and I was dominating." And for him, that's going back to the natural stance after the last two years in Chicago, Luke Getzi and Matt Eberfloos reversed that stance. And because he reversed it, it eliminates that half second of thinking of processing. All of that should help with his timing, his decision-making, things that he was widely knocked for in Chicago. That should be eliminated here in Pittsburgh. And by the way, the Pittsburgh coaching staff isn't messing with his stance. The staff said, "Hey, Justin, close your eyes. What feels natural?" And for him, that was starting out with the right foot forward and they said, "Great. We're going to go with that." Isn't that fascinating? We've been talking here about the impact that having all of these different coaching staffs and all of these different offensive coordinators and another way of putting that is all of these cooks in the kitchen can have on a young player. And here he is trying to go back to the basics. And Dan Orlowski was making the point when he was on here after the preseason game the other day, Brooke, that his back pedal, I don't know what I'm looking for, his drop back, did not match with the receiver's routes. That if you looked at the way he was dropping, that his timing was not matching up with the receivers. And that's another example sometimes of inexperienced in an offense and all that sort of thing. How much? Now I'm asking you a complicated question, but you're there. Can you gauge how much those mistakes the other night impacted the way the stealer coaching staff views his chances of winning this job? You know, I don't think it has an impact on the chances of him winning this job because this is still Russell Wilson's job to be the starting quarterback in week one. I know the Steelers have not come out and said that but they did release a depth chart and when I asked Mike Tomlin if Russell Wilson still had that pull position, he said, did you see the depth chart? That's real. And that depth chart said Russell Wilson is QB1 despite him not practicing because of that calf injury early in camp. Wilson though has been a full participant the last couple of days in camp. Mike Tomlin said that he would be available for the Steelers this Saturday hasn't said if he's going to start but I also asked Russell Wilson, you know, how do you balance playing in that preseason game despite dealing with this calf injury? How do you balance knocking the rust off of the timing while also not wanting to get hurt and he looked at me very seriously and said, I don't play in fear. I am not a fearful player. So he's not worried about it. It sounds like he wants to give it a go but that's going to be up to Mike Tomlin and the coaching staff. And I'm not sure if he can twists and turns. We didn't see coming immediately. I also want you to hear from Lewis Riddick. He was on here yesterday and he was very fired up about what he described as the microscope that Justin Fields plays under. Listen. This guy takes more crap from people as far as them constantly trying to blow holes in his game the word now. And I've seen some of the discourse on this. This is why he shouldn't start. This is why Russ should start. It's just to me it's annoying that we pinpoint certain people to hang this kind of stuff on. So that's all fair. Now Brooke I think has just kind of changed the conversation though because that's so interesting to me. Dee Wood when you hear a quarterback in his fourth year and the coaching staff now we're all of a sudden talking about what foot he's going to start with as he's going this way and then this way is it. What does that say to you when a quarterback again in his fourth year in the National Football League we're going back to that level of basics three weeks before the regular season starts. To show you how much of a disservice what has happened in his career prior to his arrival to Pittsburgh. I mean we're talking about fundamental things that these guys should have an understanding of and here it is and it goes back to what you said earlier Kimberly how all the change that was going on in Chicago. The different coaches whether you're talking about office coordinator, quarterback coaches. All these different coaches they implement or do different things as far as players are concerned. So now you know you're just in fear you go to Pittsburgh and they're like wait a minute all this stuff that's been fed into this kid we need to strip it all down and basically build it back up. And so yes that I think that's what we you know you hear Lewis really talk about it's kind of unfair the way we've been just you know becoming that just in fields because look at all the change that this young man has experienced in throughout his young career. Yes here's the problem though is that I can't tell you how to coach a quarterback but I can tell you history says that when careers start like this very rarely do they wind up where they otherwise could have. I'm not saying it never happens but it is the exception not the rule that when you are in Brook that is such an interesting report when you are deciding three weeks before a guy's fourth season begins which foot he's going to begin moving back with very rarely does that guy wind up reaching his full but what I took from what Brooks reporting said was the coaches said hey Justin what feels natural to you. Right. Let's help you what what works for you and that to me is good coaching you look at your guys you look at the skill set that they have and then you coach towards that. I think of Geno Smith because I was there with the Jets when he was drafted I think of Baker Mayfield because I was in Cleveland and it was a very simple to have success at success elsewhere it is not easy. You don't often get second chances but to act like the coaching mal practice or the situations that happen to players isn't part of their story. I think is wrong. Harry what do you think of all this. I would also say we can't underestimate how important solid solid veterans mean to a football team too. Because if you have a solid veteran in the quarterback room you know when Justin Fields was in Chicago. Sometimes those guys until that player you know what bro understand what you need to take from coaching what you need to listen to but also understand what you need to do to be able to play the game at a high level. You know I was blessed enough to have Roddy White you know Tony Gonzalez Michael Jenkins Brian Finner and you know sometimes you know you don't want coaches to be over coaching because now the player is thinking more than he is reacting and playing at a high level in the football field. So much so when you feel like he's being a robot it's not really reacting to the game itself. Andy what I'm thinking about two very young quarterbacks you played with during your career. You played with you were there in New England when Tom Brady came off that bench after your blood so got hurt and we all saw how well that turned out. He won the Super Bowl that year. You were there when Mark Sanchez as a rookie started from week one that team went all the way to the AFC Championship game with a conservative offensive approach. You've seen the way it can work. Do you think this can work with Justin Fields and Pittsburgh this quickly? I do think so and the commonality that both those situations had. We weren't dependent on those guys to carry us. You know in New England we had defense we were running the football same thing with the Jets. Defense run the football. We brought those guys along. Same thing that happened in Pittsburgh. They got a good defense. You've seen the moves that they made this offseason where the offensive line and they want to run the football. You can do the same thing with Justin Fields and his tremendous athletic ability. It's just all about refounding and then kind of cleaning up the fundamentals in this game. Brooke put a finishing point on it for us. Agreeney I want to translate what all this means to those of us who have not played quarterback and will never play quarterback the significance of the footwork. Think of it like you are right hand dominant and then you just try to switch to writing with your left hand. You might practice a million times but there's still a second that you have to think before you start writing with your left hand. Versus when you're writing with your right hand it's automatic. You don't have to think you're able to multitask a little bit easier. That is what Justin Fields quarterback coach Oliver Boseman told me to kind of relate it and translate that footwork to the everyday person. So for Justin Fields because he doesn't have to think it helps his timing. Not only in terms of throws working with ride receivers but also knowing when to pull the ball down and take off and go for a run. Things like that. Everything starts with the feet. Everything should be more natural and comfortable for him now. The piece is up on ESPN.com. Really interesting. We'll see. I've been rooting for Justin Fields since he was in college. I would love to see him find a way to pull this thing together. We'll see if he can do it in the next three weeks. Brooke outstanding. Thank you. The 77th annual Little League Baseball World Series in Williamsport continues. Today with another opening round quadruple header starting at one on ESPN and EN. ESPN plus do not miss all the action. Coming up. How about them Cowboys? The D and big D stands for drama. Is it possible that a surprise name could all of a sudden emerge to save the day in big D? We'll bring up that name next. We're back on Get Up Cowboys, of course, remain as they usually are at the center of the conversation. We've talked a lot about the fruitless contract talks with CD Lamb and with Dak Prescott. Even so, Cowboys legend Dion Sanders offered this defense of his old boss and old wife. He's a great guy. He's a great guy. He's a great guy. He's a great guy. He's a great guy. He's a great guy. Cowboys and we're back on Get Up Cowboys and we're back on Get Up Cowboys and we're back on Get Up Cowboys would he ever leave the college game and go coach in the national football league and immediately he shut that down instantly he said no you know these guys make too much money he's not going to sit there and beg someone to go play at a high level and do the things that they're supposed to do and also to follow that up I remember we did college game day down at Jackson State and someone that really followed Dion closely and Dion gave him extreme access to the program he echoed the same thing when I was there there at Jackson State and also when we had him on Freddie and Harry not too long ago as well so I think he's comfortable he's not satisfied where he was transpired in Colorado he wants to win right now I'm really looking forward to seeing his team now being the big 12 and how they're going to continue to progress he has two guys over there and Shador Sanders his son and also Travis Hunter two of the best players in college football so I want to see what those guys are going to be able to continue to do on this journey the path that they're on Harry I'm picking up what you're putting down you know who gets paid a lot of money these days to college football players the world has changed that dynamic has changed a lot since he was at Jackson State and even in the last year or two I'm listening to him talking about Jerry Jones I'm contemplating a world in which his son Shador Sanders is going to be one of the top draft picks one of the top quarterbacks in the upcoming NFL draft I'm envisioning a season in which Jerry Jones seems relatively satisfied to let Mike McCarthy have a one and done situation to let Dak Prescott have a one and done situation I'm picturing the ultimate marketer the ultimate salesman the ultimate drama which is Jerry Jones and I'm picturing him imagining Dion and Shador Sanders as his coach and quarterback next year Harry Douglas man it's hard to say I will say this for the Dallas Cowboys to be able to make that happen number one they better have a top five draft pick and if you're not in that top five you're going to have to do everything possible and give up a ton to be able to move up until that slot to draft Shador that's how doggone good I think the young man is at the quarterback position also man I believe Dion so we had this Kumbaya yesterday because we're both we have this old school way of thinking and we both believe like we don't believe in begging someone to do what they're supposed to do when you look at his program in Colorado even though it is NIL it's the due to little things right and the big things will follow so it's more so of that traditional old school way of moving and transpiring and I think it's stealing certain things in these young men as they try to become grownups that's great but the reality is college football isn't that he can want it to be whatever he wants but in the world with NIL and transfer portal you have to beg players to play for you in college every bit as much as you do in the NFL in fact you have to beg them to stick around if you say one thing they don't like during the course of a regular season I'm not questioning Dion's honesty I'm saying sometimes smart people change their minds when the circumstances change and I'm saying this is not look don't put this on the bottom line Greenie is not reporting anything I don't know what I'm saying is if we think the Cowboys are looking for a coaching change and looking to make a splash and looking to go a little bit outside the box I could see stranger things have happened Kimberly A. Martin and this Listen we live in a world where Aaron Rodgers is a jet so it doesn't get any stranger than that for me but what's funny is Harry said all of that and all Granny took from that was oh top five pick that's all the Cowboys need oh so you're saying there's a chance that they could draft these guys I mean in our world that would be fun that would be great Harry spoke to him if that's how Dion feels right now cool but like you said things can change I do think Jerry let's say this season doesn't start off the way it should we expect it to right what if they are struggling what if Jerry Jones says you know what I hear Steve and I talking about me and I am all in this is how I'm going to show I'm all in we're going to clear the deck I'm going to get rid of this quarterback I'm going to get rid of this head coach well who is go who's he going to hire? he had a chance to hire Bill Belichick pass on that Mike Rabel was out there Dan Quinn was on his staff passed on that Kelly Moore on his staff passed on that so I wonder in Granny's hosting world is there a sense that this could happen I don't know would it be fun would we spend hours talking about it Dion Sanders I don't think Dion has any interest in coaching grown men who make more money than him that's number one okay number two under you know under what you're talking about Dion to the Cowboys the assumption would be that the Colorado Buffalo's will have a fantastic I'm talking about playoff type season I don't think Dion has any interest in coaching grown men who make more money than him that's number one okay number two playoff type season they're in the college football playoffs I don't think they necessarily need that to happen Dion Sanders is a proven commodity Dion Sanders doesn't have to prove to anyone who he is he doesn't have to tell anyone who he is he has 100% name recognition everyone will know exactly what they are doing under those circumstances he took over a program that was really bad two years ago people loved to pile on him for last season not having been as good as it looked like it might be when it started the truth is he did a good job there last year I have no idea what's going to happen there this season but what I am saying is unless something completely outside the the pale happens he remains a very interesting and viable person for someone like Charlie to consider for something like this well listen you said this multiple times we are in the interesting business that will be interesting it will be interesting I will leave it there it will be interesting he's your buddy just to sort of to sneak this into his head just to sneak this idea into his head like have you ever seen the movie Inception like just bring it up a couple of times kind of subtly and then ultimately let him think it was his idea in the first place do you see no chance of him trying to make the jump to the NFL Harry to put a final word on it no chance now I'm not going to say there's no chance but it is very very slim simple fact that like he and then he brought this up think about this man you got these players making more money than you and you asked him to do something and they tell you no like what's the next step in that process you know what I'm saying I was never afraid of the head coach every head coach in the NFL deals with those problems NFL head coaches have problems college head coaches have problems they each have different difficulties that they have to manage Deon Sanders will have more credibility if he gets into it with an NFL player then practically any other head coach possibly could because he's one of the handful of greatest players that ever lived himself I don't know I'm not telling you what's going to happen I'm telling you I can see him greeny I can see him at a bigger university versus seeing him being the head coach for the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL I can see him being in a bigger school Greeny is not interested in bigger universities that's like this that's not one that's not one the month long WNBA Olympic break ends tonight with the liberty and the sparks on ESPN ESPN Deporthes and the ESPN app at 9 WNBA can't down will tip off your coverage at 8 30 on ESPN 2 Coming up Stephen A debating the hosts of Sports Center find out who we think is the biggest threat to Patrick Mahomes in the AFC that's top of the hour right here on ESPN Get up is brought to you by Taco Bell A reminder UFC 305 Saturday night highlighted by the middleweight title main event main card begins 10 Eastern on pay-per-view don't miss the coverage on ESPN ESPN Deporthes and ESPN Plus to order an English in Spanish go to ESPN Plus dot com slash P-P-V one more time before we go D would not have had ourselves a busy week here together Kmart and you once again just sort of judge the form here on this snap that I took from the big fellow on Monday I mean... Not bad right? No, excellent form. The fact that it's 2.6 seconds for you to break his finger though is a record. What do you think D would? I thought you'd held him there pretty good. He held on to the ball though. The ball pretty much fused to my hand. Great exchange there guys. Your day starts now.
