Coming up, I'm going to be talking about how Disney are trying to use some terms and conditions from Disney+ to try and get out of a lawsuit, plus also talking about some brand new shows heading Disney+ pretty soon. But before we go any further, make sure you do hit that subscribe button to keep up with the latest Disney+ news. Hi it's Roger here, film what's on at DisneyPlus.com. It's time for a quick Disney+ news roundup and first off we'll be talking about a very crazy story regarding Disney trying to get out of a lawsuit due to some terms and conditions I'm signing up to Disney+. So what happened was recently Disney's been hit with a wrongful death lawsuit following the death of a person's wife who back in 2023 for my severe allergic reaction after eating at the Ragland Road Irish pub at Disney Springs in Walt Disney World. The restaurant owners along with Disney have both been named in the lawsuit. This lawsuit is for $50,000 plus legal costs and also states that Disney did not do its job in taking enough care with dealing with severe allergies to dairy and nuts despite being repeatedly told about it. So you don't have to leave in the restaurant, the victim started experiencing difficulty breathing and collapse and then was then taken to hospital and then when an autopsy was done it was found that she had elevated levels of dairy and nut in her system. However Disney's lawyers are fighting the lawsuit saying that there was a clause that stated because the victim signed up on the PlayStation for a free trial of Disney+ back in 2019. The terms and conditions say that they also agreed to settle any disputes with the company via the arbitration. Disney also states that because the husband Jeffrey agreed to these terms with buying tickets through his Disney account while visiting Epcot at Walt Disney World, the account states that any dispute between new and us except for the small claims in subject to a class act and waiver must be resolved by individual binding arbitration. Due to this clause Disney wants the lawsuit halted and for the dispute to be resolved at a court. However as you might expect his lawyers aren't so pleased with that one in saying it's preposterous and also saying that you know that any legal argument about the fact that Preston signs up for Disney+ then gives away any rights to do any like lawsuits or anything like this all obviously with the factors of the deaf involved as well. The court was now going to be looking at this related day or whether or not this goes through. This has definitely caught the attention of the world and a lot of people kind of questioning what's going on here. The also thing as well is there's a couple of things I wanted to point out. The first off the fact that this was done a restaurant at Disney Springs which is technically not in the park where you pay an entrance so anyone can just walk off the street and go in there. Second of all while Disney owns the land that it's on the Ragland actual pub is owned but is run by different people so it's not like their Disney staff or anything in there but Disney is trying to get this one kicked out. Now I end up thinking to be honest that they probably ended up making more headlines because of this lawsuit than had they just kind of gone through with it but obviously Disney doesn't want to go through lawsuits or anything like that and I mean I don't think it's necessary but the fact that they're not wanted to pay but they just don't want it going through courts and there is that question as well like you said of like how far really is Disney responsible for this because of that but also are they trying to set a president for other things you know if you injure yourself at the parks and all that you've got to go through arbitration. Very very difficult situation. I think that you know signing out sort of ticket is one thing if it happened inside of a restaurant at Epcot I could understand it because they bought a ticket to go in there but this is just off the streets you know you just go into Disney Springs you don't sign anything to go in there and also signing out to a free trial of Disney plus like four years before it and maybe even if you're not even a subscriber though I mean this is really stretching it. I think a lot of this is just trying to set things up for the future but if that's the case like 150 million of us have signed contracts plus for these countries I mean there's two things with like South Park where they've kind of made fun of these terms and conditions but this really does seem like a really strange way of doing it. My thoughts also really go to the people that were working in the kitchen and the people that served it and you know whatever's going on there you know obviously a mistake was made you know recently there was also a recent case as well here in the UK with a girl dying just getting a hot chocolate at costa that had dairy in it and it is very tricky having been someone that I'm around a restaurant and cafe for like 20 years of how you know difficult it is and how mistakes are so easily made especially when I just when doing this and it is very difficult and I can see it from both sides actually from all three sides on this it's a very tricky situation unfortunately you know an accident has happened and yeah I think just trying to get away with this with terms and conditions from Disney plus to do with a wrongful death over someone having an allergy reaction to something in a restaurant it yeah I just don't understand how all this comes together it makes Disney look awful this is just bad publicity all the way around now where we're not just get settled out of court and all the rest of it but either way Disney gonna have to be paying out a lot of money just to make this problem try and go away but also highlight a major problem with the fact of you signing up for you know a prompt situation with Disney plus you know how that has anything to do with you know the situation in Orlando after someone died that's got nothing to do with Disney plus and I don't say if you know how many of us have gone through our terms and conditions when we signed up you know for Xbox and PlayStation and you know Spotify and YouTube and all this kind of stuff of you know if you didn't you wouldn't be able to do anything because you'd never sign anything but it's an awful situation Disney look awful for this the lawyers and stuff it's just nasty it's just really nasty in this situation just should it should have happened it was an accident that should never have happened but these things will probably continue to happen and people aren't necessarily aware of the damages that can be done with this but it's just awful for everybody involved and it just makes Disney look really bad with the way that they're trying to fight this now again they might be the lawyers or whatever it is but it just looks awful but let me know what you think of all this in the comments below. Chifting gears now let's now talk about a brand new series that's heading soon to Hulu and Hulu on Disney Plus in the US called The Secret Life of Mormon Wife so this one is coming out on it said on Hulu and on Hulu on Disney Plus in the United States on September the 6th so again all the episodes at once and this series just looks like you know carnage it's full on reality of a group of mums that are Mormons that get on TikTok become really really successful and then it kind of turns out that there might have been some swinging going on and then the adults and the church and all this all crazy stuff it is definitely kind of in that trash TV territory and I am definitely going to be checking it out because it looks crazy and just a whole lot of people have really weird lives and yeah this one again is this kind of content in a reality TV doesn't always hit with everybody but I definitely definitely want to check it out when it arrives because it just looks like a car crash waiting to happen but let me know you're going to be checking out this reality TV series I'm no word yet on if this one's coming out internationally I suspect it probably will do but let me know if you're looking forward to it in the comments below. Chifting gears now let's now talk about a brand new series FX American sports story which is based on the podcast Gladiator Aaron Hernandez so this one is all about a football star who was huge in the Patriots but he ended up going off and killing somebody and this drama series from Ryan Murphy kind of looks into his life what he was up to kind of you know they're trying to deal with being you know from the streets but also being a major NFL star and I've had heard of this story before due to a recent documentary on Apple TV about the new Patriots so I was aware this one I thought the trailer looks pretty good I'm definitely interested in seeing what this one goes on about generally these kind of shows and it's kind of a spin-off in the same way of like American crime story American horror story but now we're moving into sports story I think this one looks pretty cool it's going to be dropping on to FX in the United States on September the 17th and available the next day on Hulu and Hulu on Disney Plus no date yet for the international release but you can expect it to arrive on Disney Plus soon but yeah this one definitely for me is another one that I look forward to watching his kind of crime dramas definitely interest me but let me know you're excited about this new series of American sports story in the comments below and our question today which comes from Norfolk who says do you think Marvel would attend the 2025 comma comma skip it considering only the Avengers movie is going to be the only project to talk about by then apart from maybe fantastic four first steps so I do think next year we are likely to see them going back to whole age for another presentation because there's still going to be some movies that they're going to be promoting all the 2026 titles so we could have maybe Ironheart coming up maybe also Wonder Man coming up just after that so they might want to start promoting them but also I think you know if they're only doing like an hour presentation three or four projects is all they really need to do obviously in 2026 as well we're going to have the Avengers doomsday movie but there's probably also going to be something else as well that there is someone's on the schedule that we don't know about yet so I'm definitely thinking you know skin there's no d23 next year so they've kind of got that whole opening this year was a you know in some ways a bit more space but if you've only got like an hour hour and a half you know you only need to show off about three or four projects and I think Marvel's got that and I think I do think they'll be there I think they're going to be going back to especially with theatrical releases they're going to have a few movies coming up maybe Blay Rover also have got in between that but I think they've got enough there to kind of keep people entertained especially you know 15 you know a couple of clips a couple of trailers and stuff that quickly just jumped into that hour but no I do think so but let me know what you think in the comments below we'll have to hear your thoughts if you got a great question let me know in the comments below I think it's a good one I hope I get out for tomorrow's video and I'll let that guys thank you very much see you guys soon papers!
