Good morning, I'm Emma Druckmiller in the TV6 Newsroom with your on-the-go morning headlines for Friday, August 16th. Five people have been charged in connection with the accidental overdose death of actor Matthew Perry. Two doctors and alleged drug dealer, Perry's live-in personal assistant, along with another person, have all been charged. Perry, best known for his role in Friends, was found dead in a pool at his Southern California home in October of last year. An autopsy ruled he died of acute effects of ketamine. Now to a TV6 update, Muscatine is moving forward on their $7 million sports facility. City Council officially approved the contract to get things started last night. When finished, the indoor complex will have fields for soccer, softball, and courts for basketball. Private donations and a grant along with City and County funding will pay for the project. Taking a look at some events for this weekend, tomorrow River Action is looking to break a world record with Floatzilla. They hope to break the world record of over 3,100 kayaks and canoes. Registration for Floatzilla is $45. We have a link to register and locations for packet pickup on our website. And also tomorrow, at Le Claire Park in Davenport, Riverfront Props brings you the music of Led Zeppelin, the concert starts at 730 and ends with a firework display. And already underway in New Windsor, the biggest little rodeo in the Midwest has entered its 84th year. The carnival opens tonight at 5, and rodeo events run all day tomorrow. And last but not least, alternating currents is underway in the QCA and you don't want to miss it. Alternating currents features more than 200 performances spread out across more than 30 venues in Davenport, Betondorf, and Rock Island. Event organizers say it's a truly unique experience. Things get busy today and Saturday before closing out with lots of film and wrestling in Rock Island on Sunday. You can find a schedule on our website. Taking a look at your weather from meteorologist Kevin Phelps, widespread rainfall has come to an end for the QCA, but we are not done yet. A few isolated storms may be possible late this afternoon and evening for areas north of I-80. Small hail and gusty winds are possible, but widespread severe weather is not. Highs will reach the mid-80s this afternoon under sunny skies. The weekend will be mainly dry with cooler than normal temps in the low 80s. Next week we'll bring a quieter weather pattern with most areas hitting the low 80s each day. That wraps up your on the go morning headlines for a Friday, August 16th. In the TV6 Newsroom, I'm Emma Jockmiller.
