Dr. James Dobson writes, “The Bible offers a consistent foundation on which to build an effective philosophy of parent-child relationships. Self-control, human kindness, respect, and peacefulness can again be manifest in America if we will return to this ultimate resource in our homes and schools.”

“Don’t be afraid to correct your young ones;
a spanking won’t kill them.
A good spanking, in fact, might save them
from something worse than death.”

— Proverbs 23:13-14 (MSG)

Lord, being a parent isn’t easy. We constantly find ourselves reacting instead of responding. We’re too busy, too tired, too preoccupied, too something…. Forgive us Lord. Our children deserve better. Help us to become the parents they need. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

(upbeat music) - Hello, I'm Richard, actually, with your one-minute devotion. Dr. James Thomson writes, "The Bible offers a consistent foundation on which to build an effective philosophy of parent-child relationships. Self-control, human kindness, respect, and peacefulness can again be manifest in America if we were returned to this ultimate resource in our homes and in our schools." Barbara 23 says, "Don't be afraid to correct your young ones. A good spanking might save them from something worse than death." Lord, being a parent isn't easy. We constantly find ourselves reacting instead of responding. We're too busy, too tired, too preoccupied, too something. Forgive us, Lord. Our children deserve better. Help us to become the parents they need. Amen. (upbeat music) - If you would like to connect more with Pastor Richard Exley, please go to the website, Richard Exley Ministries and books.com.
