(upbeat music) - Today is Monday, August 12th, and this is Cokesbury's Daily Bible Reading Plan. Today's scripture comes from the book of Isaiah, chapter 43, verse one, B. Do not be afraid for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name, you are mine. The second scripture is from Proverbs chapter three, verses five and six. Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Now let's apply it. Feeling stress is not a unique experience. The verses we're reading this week are all verses that you may have heard, may have memorized, or may use to remind yourself that God is, in fact, always in control. These are some of our staff favorites that are go-to when we need to be reminded of God's love and faithfulness to us. What beautiful reassurance to know that God calls us his. We belong to him no matter what. He loves us so much and what's the best for us. We just need that reminder to seek him and his will. In times of struggle, he is calling us by name.
