Mike Moore Media. I'm talking with our friend Cindy Adams, marketing and special events manager for the City of Eden, our monthly get together. Oh my gosh Cindy there's so much happening. I'm on your Facebook page, explore Eden in seed, just kind of scrolling through. So let's try to, we need about an hour probably, but we're gonna, we're gonna jump right in and talk about, touch your truck tomorrow when she's getting bigger and bigger. Yeah, it does. Tomorrow, I can't wait myself. But it's so much going on tomorrow. It's from 10 to 1. We'll be there on Henry Street, right off of Washington Street in uptown Eden, but we have about 50 pieces of equipment and vehicles and cool stuff that kids can get on. They can blow the horn, actually feel the steering wheel, sit up in the seat. We're gonna have some moving parts. We're gonna have a pavement roller, kids can get on with the operator and move and run over some cans and do some fun stuff and then front end loader, they can do that and so lots of cool things. But in addition to all that, we're gonna have food, we're gonna have cone of ice, we're gonna have face painting, we have a huge inflatable monster truck that kids can get in and climb in and jump in and all of that. And one of the coolest things, we're having a foam party. I don't think Eden's ever had a foam party? No. But there's these canisters and it literally just pumps out lots of foam. It looks like shaving cream. Kids can get in that in place, so we encourage you to dress up or really bring a towel because you go meet one. That'll be at the end of the event. It'll be from 12 to 1. And then we have some special gifts and one in particular. I can't wait to meet and that's Bluey. Bluey? Okay. And so the kids can come and meet Bluey. She's beautiful, she's popular and Bluey and her friends will be there and you can have your pictures taken with her. And the only thing you need to bring is a school supply. That is your entry fee and all of those will go back into our elementary school here in Eden for kids that that needs some supplemental supplies. And the teachers even that needs things during the year. We hope to provide a lot of that. Okay. So touch a truck tomorrow, Uptown Eden 10 to 1. Wow, a fun event for the family. That's for sure. Yeah, it is. It's gonna be a beautiful day. So come and enjoy it and plan to have lunch there with us. Mm-hmm. Sure, of course. Yeah, I got to have lunch. Yeah. All right. So what's next on the calendar? Well, we've got shagging on field, Chris, rain out. And this is rescheduled for Thursday, August 29th from 5 to 10. And we were so fortunate in moving it. We retained all three bands and all of our food trucks. And so we got very, very lucky. We're in our new location, which is 213 Main Street. We're still in Draper, though. So we're excited about that. And again, it's from 5 to 10. On August 29th, we'll start out from 5 to 6 with pop of fun. And then 30 to 7 45 will be the Catalina. And then from 8 15 to 10 will be too much filthier. And so it'll be a good time. Sure. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. So all the bands are there. Another free. Another free event. Yeah. Okay, very good. Yeah. Okay. So August 29th for shagging on field, Chris, on Main Street. Yeah. Okay. Oh, Main Street. Got it. And then the biggie is coming and we could not be more excited this year. Riverfest, we say it every year, but it really is true. It's bigger and better. And I believe it. Yeah. It is set for September 20th and 21st. And we just take over all of uptown Eden. And this year it is chock full. We have already sold out of vendor space. Yeah, I'm looking at that right now. And I see these big letters and purple background sold out Riverfest vendors. And I know you and I when we talked recently, you said, I'm running out of room. We're expanding. We're doing this or whatever. And it's always, it's always tight because you've got so many that just want to come back every year and so many new ones that say I want to be a part of this. I've been hearing about it. So now it is. It is that a sold out situation. Yeah. And I've had to turn away. I mean, and I hate to do that. It hurts my heart to have to turn anybody away. But, you know, we only have so much infrastructure, so much pavement to put people. And so we don't want it, you know, so tight that you can't enjoy it. Right. Yeah. Mm hmm. Okay. So, Riverfest, September 20th and 21st, uptown Eden. Yeah, so much. And Cat with the Brown is coming home and bringing her family with her. And we'll talk as we get a little bit closer, but she's going to be doing things in uptown all day on Saturday. And so there's opportunities to have meet and greet with her and have her sign your book or whatever you want to do. But she's as excited as we are about having her as she is coming home. And we're going to do a special presentation to her on the on the stage at 230. But we'll have music all day long. Two great headliners. Two great parties going to go home Friday and Saturday night. We've got 80s nation on Friday night and trial by fire on Saturday. But all during the day Saturday, I mean, you're gonna have to stay all day. Yeah. Thanks Friday. Come on Friday, start shopping with the vendors. Great vendors this year. I mean, it's an incredible thing. I can't wait to see it myself. Great talent coming. But we have a celebrity chef, Carlos Brown coming out of Charleston. He's going to be selling his products. He's also going to be doing some cooking demos. Dires has come on as a great presenting sponsor. We thank them for that. And they're going to be doing a really fun, cute event on Henry Street at 12 noon, the rubber duck drop. And they're excited about that to be lots of prizes. And we can't thank them enough. This will be a glow in the dark foam party. Darva's coming with a kayak simulator. We've got face pain. We've got a great DMX show. It's going to be four shows during the day. 360 degrees photo booth, giant games, Jim mining Expo in Magician Sand Art, our troopers coming back and he's doing a stage coach show with kids this time. And then the food is phenomenal. We have a peach cobbler factory coming. Oh my goodness. All kinds of things there on the rotary beer garden will be open. I mean, it's something else. I mean, it's going to be a really, really fun weekend. Yeah, people are making plans. I know there's lots of classroom unions that weekend and they're folding in River Fest into their plans. We thank them for that. But it, you know, come one, come all bring the family lots of things for children. Yeah. And on our next show, we can talk about those functions. I want to name every one of them. Okay, they talk about this every time, the cause of them in this community. So much of what that River Fest is free. Yeah, well, free admission for sure. And you think of just the bands alone, how much that would cost. And some of these other events you have going on, some of the fun things that you would go to another venue somewhere. And you don't have to pay for a lot of this stuff. Yeah. Yeah. And now, you know, all the special attractions you have, yeah. And we really want to encourage people to use shuttles this year. It's going to be a lot of people. We had upwards of 24,000 over the day and a half last year. And with Tabitha Brown and the bands and all that we have going on, we think will probably be near 30,000. I would say. And so the shuttles are free. They're very nice. They're brought to the Dunbar Safe Hands Transportation. And we have drop off points that King's wayplies by and that tractor supply. And so make it easy on yourself. Just park your car, get on that shuttle. It lets you off at the entrance of the festival. It runs every 30 minutes. And it'll take you right back to your car. So that is easy. Yeah. Okay. Well, well, I'm just overwhelmed. And you've just barely scratched the surface here at Riverfest. But yeah, it just continues to grow and build. And, you know, all the things you keep adding and bringing back some of our favorites and cash. So thank you, Cindy. Well, with touch it. Well, with touch the truck, too, I want to thank my colleagues at Public Work. Sure. They partner with us to do this. They do a lot more than I do. They're bringing a huge amount of city equipment. They're cleaning it as we speak right now. And they love seeing the kids. And a lot of work goes on behind the scenes, make it happen. And Travis Hutchins is my gut shoe partner here at the city with events and he and his team at Public Works do a fantastic job. Mm hmm. Yeah. All right. It's a team effort for sure. And all of these things. So, uh, yeah, thank you. Thank you, Travis and Public Works and everybody. You know, and I'm that kind of has nothing to do with what we were talking about here today. But I'm I thought you mentioned that I kind of, you know, jumped in my head here. Let's talk about the the new cruisers, because that's that's really taken off too, hasn't it? It has that that was that was a brainstorm of these guys. Yeah. They have classic cars themselves. So they know the cars. They know the people with the cars. And their first event ran out of room. And then then we've been plagued with rain. Yeah. But there will be another one, the first Friday in September and one first Friday in October. Mm hmm. And that's when we're going to bring back the grief movie. We'll treat everybody to that on the last one. Yeah. Because we got rained out the last one. But these guys love it. You know, I've loved watching it. The people with the cars would just bring their chairs and sit around and the hoods would be up and lots and lots of conversation and friendships. And it's just a nice time again in up county. Mm hmm. Yeah, it really is. Just one more thing. Okay. Well, Cindy, I know you've got a busy day. Thanks for the update on all of the fun things coming up in Eden. We appreciate you. Thank you for having me. And we'll put the events down on our calendars here and not miss it. And and you know, always like to remind everybody to shop local support our our Eden businesses too. Okay. Yeah. And those the ones in uptown Eden will be open tomorrow. So after touch a truck, do some shopping have some lunch down down. They stay open late during the cruises. And so that's very nice too. So the ladies who may not want to hang around in the parking lot the whole time, they can shop there and then open late for that. Mm hmm. And we have some really cool things in Eden. Some really neat, unique shops and great restaurants. And so I agree with you stay at home as much as you can and patronize folks in Eden. Yeah, that's a win win all the way around. All right. Thank you, Cindy. We'll talk to you again soon. All right. Bye. Bye. Bye. That's our friend Cindy Adam. She's with the city of Eden marketing and special events manager. Oh my gosh. So much happening. Please go to her Facebook page. Explore Eden NC. You need to check that on a regular basis. Get in on the monthly newsletter that comes out from the city. So you don't miss any of these cool things happening and to explore Eden in sea. Now, I was talking about we were talking about shopping locally. Let me mention one of our sponsors right now. And that would be Turner Furniture Company. They've been around for a long, long time. And one of the oldest businesses in Eden. And they have such a neat store. It's right there as you come off NC 14 on on Metal Road, right beside Blue Octopus, antiques and artisans. But Turner Furniture Company has all of the name brands. Lazy Boy recliners and sort of betting mattresses. All of the different names there too. I mentioned sort of but a deliverer. They'll take away the old mattresses, things like that. They really make it easy for you to buy delivery. Yep, financing bedroom furniture by Ashley. Many other names too. That's Turner Furniture Company. Another one of our fine Eden businesses. And thanks for your support of our local businesses. And for coming out and enjoying all these fun events. Again, that's Explore Eden NC. [BLANK_AUDIO]
